My boyfriend and I always have such a great time here. The vibe/atmosphere is always fun which makes it very easy to relax and enjoy ourselves. The bowling alley inside is one of my favorite things to do. It's perfect for families or just adding something extra to the night. Drinks are affordable, especially for a downtown spot. This time around, what really made the place stand out was the service, I wish I got our servers name but unfortunately forgot but she did a wonderful job. We always come back and h
We loved this place! They were very accommodating after a weather change during our elopement. We had the most memorable time bowling and dancing the night away. The band even let my sister and best friend sing with them for our "first dance."
We were doing some Christmas shopping this weekend and picked Downtown Social as our new place to try. The menu looked great, as we're the reviews. The place is big and has a lot to offer even before you get to the food. Video games, bowling, and lots of TVs. We all decided on a burger of sorts with all the side options. The food seemed to take a bit to come out but looked great when it arrived. One of the questions they ask when you order your burger is how would you like it cooked. All three of us answ
The atmosphere was fun and lively. They have a bowling ally inside fun for families. The drink prices were one of the lowest in the down town area. The food is typically bar food it was good.
It is like the synapsis says. Good energy, activities, reasonable. Food was solid with more flavor than I expected. It felt like you place you and your neighbors go.
Went with a large group when they opened on Sunday, the place wasn't too busy yet the bowling had a 3 hr wait. A lot of the games were broken; and it was kind of dirty and worn down. After almost an hour of waiting for food, it finally came out. One item of our order didn't come out and we asked about it since it was an appetizer. The waitress apologized and went to the kitchen to get it out. The food at least was really good! This place would be a lot more enjoyable with better management since we couldn't
Went out for some food and drinks on Friday evening. Drinks are somewhat expensive but the overall vibe is nice. The rooftop seating was comfortable and chill vibes.
I love this place. It's a great place to hang out with friends and families alike. We had so much fun playing ping pong. Next time, I'd like to try bowling and something from their main menu. We had the beignets as we had already had dinner when we arrived. They were phenomenal.
We were there with friends so that made it fun but getting a drink from the bar was almost impossible later in the evening. We waited a good 10 minutes before the bartender even acknowledged us. It wasn't her fault though. She was working hard & made good drinks but she had way too many people to serve. They need more bartenders.
The best, most flavorful burger in town so far. It was juicy and large. The bun was exquisite. The fries had a unique seasoning that had sugar in it. The waiter was very pleasant and quick. This place is a must see. Part bar part restaurant.
This place was a lot of fun. They had games and bowling along with a bar, tables and a stage for live music! The atmosphere and staff were wonderful. Perfect for a date night or a night out with friends.
The first thing that stands out from our visit was the great customer service. Our waitress Sydney was amazing. Herself along with other staff members kept checking on us throughout the night. Live band was playing. Beer was cold. We got the fried pickles, pizza and then a shake. Fried pickles were good, they are a tad spicy. Pizza was ok. Milk shake was great! Very spacious place to watch games, bowl, or play games like pool or arcades. Def recommend this spot!
A bit pricey and the food was ok. We went with a group. My food was fine but a couple others had to send back theirs. I ordered fries with my burger but never got them. The service was great and I personally left a 10.00 tip, but then a girl in my group pointed out that the tip was included in the bill!! I won't be going back.
Had a great time, the service was excellent, and the food very good. Our waitress Kensey was awesome and treated us like family, but without the insults. I highly recommend this establishment.
Downtown Social is a bar in New Braunfels. They have music nightly, either live music or a DJ. It also has a mini bowling ally inside. How great is that? If your not a bowler that's fine, there are video games great bartenders, drinks and great atmosphere. I went on a Thursday night. There was a DJ that was so fun, he played trivia games and kept the house jumpin!! Food was good and prices were very good. Staff was so friendly and took care of you right. I would recommend Downtown Social for a date or hang
Definitely a great date night place. They have bowling and ither games but its pretty pricey so not sure if we would take our kids since we are a family of 7 and that can add up. But drinks are amazing especially the Smores Martini and the food is good.
Nice place for dinner and drinks. Has three separate areas for dinner, lounge, and games. Food is pretty good too. Had the guac burger and it was really good. Draft Bier selection was a long list. Wish they had Guadalupe brewing Co though. Lots of parking around area. Next door to Pour Haus which is also awesome for live music after dinner.
Bartenders were attentive and friendly. DJ took requests.
We were having such a fun night until Brooklyn had us kicked out due to us dancing. Apparently they expect you to spend money on drinks but the moment they see you having a good time they kick you. Would not recommend this place!!
The atmosphere here is amazing. The staff were great! The burger wasn't as good as I'd hoped, but the appetizers were good. And the drinks were??.
Has a blast spending the day at Downtown Social watching College football. The bartender, Jacob made our visit so much better. His attitude and friendliness was a great addition to his mastery of making drinks. Long live the mixologist!! We will be back soon!
Awesome place to catch Roots and Branches. The pizza we had was delicious and fairly priced. The service is always excellent!
This was our FIRST time and it is a great place on the weekend for Kid's Birthday parties, family fun days, or any other event. On weekends you can park across the street as those businesses are closed and do not mind.
Fun, lively environment. Young staff, good service. Ordered the large size for one of their specialty pizzas and we agreed that it was one of the best pizzas we've had in a long time. Fried Chicken and Beignets were incredible as well. The Downtown Social also has one of the best mojitos I've ever had. Always a good time here!
Great place to grab a bite to eat, bowl, see a local Texas Band and get some amazing service. The bartenders are fantastic. Uour drink will never be empty here. ???
Spent 298$ and was still kicked out for dancing. Would recommend Firing manager Brooklyn. 0/10 human. Would not recommend. Will never come back.
Amazing customer service highly recommend asking for Natalie if you plan to go here!! She was super attentive. Kudos to her. She's a great asset to the staff!
Just had a birthday party there & everything was amazing! Food was great! Cake was delicious! And service was phenomenal!
This is a go to spot that always has seating, good service, food and cold beer on tap. Lots of room for the kids to keep occupied by the games, shuffleboard or bowling. A family friendly place.
We went there last night for a date night. We wanted a quiet but fun dinner. We have been here years ago & the menu has gone down hill & so has the kitchen staff apparently. There were also a whole lot of kids RUNNING everywhere. I felt bad for the hostess as she was playing babysitter & cattle herder all night. The parents were on the other side of the building & drinking, they didn't seem to care that their kids were jumping on furniture. I would have been fine with that as that's not the restaurants resp
Great atmosphere. All but one table was reserved for Christmas parties...and we were lucky enough to get it. Food was amazing! Love that it was adjacent to Pour House
We reserved an area for an evening gathering for our Symposium attendees. The catered food was very good (roasted brussels sprouts were my favorite!), drink options were great, and service was outstanding. The only complaint was the food that was vegan and/or gluten free was not labeled and placed in a slightly separate area.
Great place to go with kids or without! We went with our two young boys and they had a blast playing all the games and bowling. The food is slightly above average bar food, the drinks are amazing though!
First time going and had a wonderful experience. We got our drinks and food quickly and also were able to play bingo!
What a great place nestled in this tiny town. The food was really good and the drinks were great. Alot of activities to do like bowling and some video games.
We enjoyed spending St. Patrick's day here. No shot specials though. $5 green beer seemed a bit pricey. But it was fun enough.
Bartender was amazing. However, we came w family and kids, the games had 2 working only and in a small area. 2 lanes, 1 hour, and 2 shoes were 110 bucks, not sure how that added up. The bowling broke more times than we could count. Who designed having pins attached to string or wire should go hide in a corner. They kept getting tangled, balls not returning, etc. Food was eh, the appetizers were amazing but anything else wasn't good.
Incredibly disappointing. We were looking for somewhere to do a quick bowling game and saw that they were open until 10PM. Their website states that last games start an hour before close. We walked in at 8:39PM and were told by the host we likely could not bowl but that we could ask at the bowling booth. We walked up only to find an employee reading a book that did not see us for an uncomfortable amount of time and then tell us that they weren't in charge of bowling and had to ask. Another employee came up
We came here after an event we had in town. A lot of older people maybe late to early 30's were there at the time. Huge office holiday party going on in the other corner opposite of the bowling ally. Be sure to reserve your spot for bowling, there's no way you'll just walk on to open lanes here. The waitress seemed a little preoccupied but I wouldn't say the service was bad. Fed 4 of us for $50. So very reasonable but also not the best food you can get in the area. If you're in a pitch and short on time
Came for a b-day dinner and celebration. First time going. Found it to be loud (which is fine) just not really expecting to have yelling conversations with people. Setup was tight, but we made it work. Tables were on wheels so they kept moving away from people as they were trying to eat. Do not go here for the food. We had 18 people and every person had different dishes and no one liked their food. I don't think we'll be back unless someone else books an event. Even with that I'd still suggest a different l
Interesting menu for hanging out with friends and family. Bowling, free shoe rental, munchies, a full bar, and other games and a pool table. We had a family reunion there and they were friendly and helpful.
First time experiencing this place was at our Staff Christmas Party. We enjoyed the fun atmosphere, bowling, and nice selections provided for our group catering.
We went for trivia night. The DJ was very difficult to understand. Mike was too close to his mouth and it was too echoey in there. And he spoke very quickly. It would have been helpful to have video screens.
Who knew brussel sprouts could taste so good? My vegetarian friend let me share her Warm Brussel Sprout Salad and I would order it again. We enjoyed the outdoor patio last Sunday afternoon; but be prepared for the motorcyclists to use the parking directly across the privacy wall fence.
Spent New year there and it was great, we had gone to several other establishments, but social was the one we decided to stay at
Bowling was different, "computer was acting up" drinks are great! But the wait staff was awesome my waitress "very cute" and on top of her job.
We had such a blast here! We figured we would be bar hopping but ended up staying here all night! Highly recommend! I don't remember our servers name but he gave the BEST service. Will definitely be back!
My friends & I had so much fun here. ?? The snacks were so good. Great happy hour deals, $6 apps.
Great place, fun atmosphere, good food, friendly service! There are brunch drink specials, and it is fun both during the day and at night!
I was super excited to come here since I had heard great things about it from friends and family. We reserved two lanes for a friend?s birthday and the worker ?helping? us had the worst attitude. Our lane kept getting jammed, the pins weren't resetting, our balls weren't coming back up. Every time it happened, she was super frustrated with us and got snappy as if it was our fault. It took us forever to get drinks, so we would just go to Pour Haus to get drinks and come back. All of us agreed we would never
I loved this placed 09/22 the DJ kicked my boy friend out because he requested a song and didn't tip him. So unprofessional and all 15 of us left. The staff said they had to listen but really ruined our experience hopefully this never happen to anyone won't come again. You shouldn't either.
I will never in my life will come here again. We were celebrating a birthday and after exactly a few drinks we were cut off. The waitress blaming the manager the manager blaming the waitress very unprofessional. Since I live in New Braunfels people always ask me for recommendations on what bars to go to in New Braunfels and I would always say go to Downtown Social but never again. Now I understand why every time I would tell people about Downtown Social everyone would say "This place sucks" it seems that af
This was my first time here, and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was great, the service was awesome, and the drinks were on point! Then a DJ started playing, and that kicked up the atmosphere even more! I enjoyed this venue and will definitely be back! Highly recommended
The burgers are great. Disappointed that they no longer have higher end items on the menu. The atmosphere has become more like a warehouse. It used to be more cozy with couches and such to hang out.
It's an old place, don't order mixed drinks, order pre-made bottled ones or beer.
Seemed like a college crowd. Felt a bit old to be there. Still a great place, nice setup. Surprised to see uniformed security guards but that's not a bad thing. Be prepared to circle for parking or just park in the lot across the street for $16.
Very fun place for a party and the atmosphere was very live. Customer service was a tad slow but always good. The food is great, the drinks are surprisingly affordable (beer is like 4 dollars) and the overall plentiful things to do is astounding. Great to go out with friends or by yourself and make new ones
music and atmosphere were great, i?ll be thinking about these lemon pepper buffalo wings forever
This place is great ?..if your WHITE. if your Hispanic/Mexican like me you'll probably get ignored or burnt food. I had to flag down someone to order food at the bowling area and everyone else was getting served waters and everything. The food came and it was all burnt and I asked the waiter to close me out and he walked by me empty handed completely ignored me and I told him ?? uh gee thanks. So I had to flag a random waitress girl and I told her that the waiter guy was ignoring us. So for ignoring and bur
It smells like a dirty, wet towel in there. Probably, because it turns into a club after 9 p.m. and a bunch of drunks spill their drinks everywhere. The floor was so sticky. Definitely not the cleanest place to have a party!
We came here to celebrate my birthday. Our server was so nice and accommodating to a large group of we had a lot of fun with the music and bowling. I think for 9 people for 1.5 hours - it was about $120
Fried chicken and Beignets...Yes, please! Every person in this place always has a smile on their face...staff and patrons. Perfectly balanced food and entertainment awesomeness!
It's a cool spot to hang out with friends if you don't want a complete bar setting. There are games and a bowling alley. The waitstaff was friendly, drinks were delicious and for it being bar food, it was tasty. I heard it turns into a lil club in the evening, living in Austin, so I'll have to make a trip down to check it out.
Had my company Christmas party here. The atmosphere was amazing and my employees had a blast. I can't for the life of me remember our waiters name but he did an amazing job. I tipped him well and so did my crew. They all had a blast even though the lanes were booked all night for another party. Honestly I would have liked to bowl cause that's what my crew wanted to do. Parties should only be able to reserve a few lanes and not all of them. Either way though a successful night. Thank y?all very much and we
Great place! Good food. And fun for everyone with a massive bar, bowling lanes, video games, etc. Overall great spot. Like anywhere service is hit or miss depending on who you get, but they mostly do very well.
This place was fun. We bowled and had a great time. Definitely would recommend
A Saturday night. Seated at 7:45. Ordered a rare burger and got it well done, and nothing else on the plate. Busser who promised to bring the fries didn't for 20 minutes and the waitress didn't come back in that time. After we finished eating we didn't get out check for an hour. Server spent a lot of time at other tables. Seems that because we were 4 adults and 7 kids she didn't pay as much attention to us. (No alcohol so smaller tip?). I can only guess.
It's all what you make it. Was there for an event so it was great! However, a lot of their games are out of order and broken so only one skee-ball, no pool, one bowling lane out of order, another bumpers inoperable. It would be great if they could fix some of those things to be more kid friendly. Also maybe an ATM on site for the games. First time there and will go back for sure just hoping more things are operable. If I went just to hang out with my kids it would've been less exciting for them. Their wing
We are new in town and looking for a happy hour place. We read on their website about the happy hour specials and decided to give this place a try. (There were 4 specialty drinks listed for $6 each and 3 apps also for $6 each) When we asked about these specials we were told that the website is ?in the process of being updated? and that none of these are actually valid. The menu is very limited, and 3 of us ended up ordering chicken sandwiches, which were ok but nothing special. The Dirty Burger was just ok
They have curated a lovely environment, tasty food, and good service. I'll start by saying we are locals and have enjoyed downtown social for years, but in a small group setting. I reserved seating for 25 for my husbands birthday, two months prior to the date of the party. I stayed in contact via email, confirming seating arrangements. They even sent me an image of the table set up. The morning of the party, I called to double check we were still good for the evening. When we arrived, our table only had sea
I really enjoy this place... you can get a different experience every day you go. Heck... the place is a different experience at different times! The bartenders are really good... they are quick and to the point. The food comes up quickly and there is a happy hour menu to enjoy a well. The place has a lot to explore and do. Games, music, inside/ outside, even bowling. Check the place out!
Security who work there more preoccupied on talking to the women that work and frequent there then doing their actual ?job.? ?? ???s #Unprofessional Batenders ignore everybody who ain?t there friends. Owner got new card machine because the last pos system they had would over charge you and then take a week to give you your money back. ?? would NOT recommend!
What a gem! Large space but not crazy loud. Lots of places for different groups to gather. We had a little holiday party for our office and it was perfect! This is going on our rotation of monthly happy hours!
It's ok for a family visit. I was expecting more arcade games. It's a pretty big place. I do recommend pinball, skee ball, classic arcade games, jukebox.
Fantastic atmosphere for an HS reunion. We had a blast! Our bartender for our drinks was hoping! Great job for keeping up with the group. The DJ that we had played a great mix of what we grew up with. Rock on!
This is a great bar restaurant with lots to do. The food is delicious and will fulfill all your desires for greased good and delicious burgers. The waitress, Samantha, was managing a party of 20 and I couldn't say enough good things about her hard work and ability to accommodate so many people. And the games were great to keep the kids entertained while the adults caught up. And some adults still had fun with the games. All in all, great place.
BEST Americano food with a fantastic atmosphere!!! This is our favorite place to eat out. We love to bowl and play video games too. This is NB's only family fun center. However, it's also the greatest place to go in town. It's very cold inside and I appreciate that sooo much on these 100?+ days!!! Staff is always friendly and we love the brussel sprouts, fries, cheesecurds, pizzas, and all the drinks too. Don't miss out!!
My family have frequented Downtown Social for years and I literally cannot think of a time we've gotten together here and had a bad time. First of all, the layout of the building is great. It's very open and inviting and the atmosphere is hip and modern. Secondly, the food is delicious. Ample options and great service from the staff. Finally, there is so much to do here! There is karaoke, ping pong, pool, bowling, a bar, an outdoor patio... so much to do with your family and friends! Love Downtown Socia
Always a great place to stop we had a good time and the food and service was amazing!
Worst place to go ever. Don't waste your money. I went with my boyfriend on St. Patrick?s Day and it was so packed my phone got stolen and then the bouncer said I had too much to drink and kicked me out. I told him I wasn't leaving without my phone and he threatened to call the police. So I left when I got home I tracked my phone with find my iPhone and someone had surprisingly stolen it. This isn't the first time their bouncer has been rude. We quit coming here for about a year because of their bouncers, t
What an amazing bar! Superior decor with a fun light atmosphere. Management was absolutely fantastic and the bartender were on point were on point! Had a variety of different areas including Lounge areas, bar seating, bowling alley, and a great outdoor patio. HIGHLY recommend!!! Very cool place.
Took extended family of 12 here. Rented two bowling lanes. The pizza?s were delicious. They have that real fire oven flavor, great fresh ingredients and super flavorful sauce. The cocktails were well priced and very good. The staff was super attentive and helpful with ordering and the lanes. Definitely coming back to this playground. Love it.
It's a fun little place. Have a small bowling alley, arcade, pool, ping pong, and a decent selection of beers. Prices are about normal for this type of place but nothing is excellent or eclectic. The place has a stage and bands play there on weekends, with probably 150 people able to cram in. Not a bad place at all.
Bartenders are rude. You stand at bar for 10 or more minutes and the bartender has a friend come up and they immediately help them and when you bring it to their attention they claim you are yelling at them. Never mind the loud music that you have to yell over, but because the bartender is wrong and you have been drinking so you are the one in the wrong and guess who goes to jail.
The food is always good here. However, the last time I was here I had to inquire about my drink 3 times before it was finally served about 35-40 minutes later. I was with a group of about 12 people and when our food and beverages were served they came without napkins, utensils, straws or even plates for the starters. We could not get the waiters attention and I had to go to the bar to get our service ware. One of the worst and most frustrating dining experiences I've had in a while. One of my friends waited
Love this place! We just celebrated my daughter?s 16th birthday there! The staff was AMAZING!! She had the best time bowling & eating GREAT food with her friends!!! A special thank you to Dylan ( one of the staff) who was so attentive to ALL of our needs!! He was super fast, attentive, and did it all with a smile! Thank you Dylan for helping us make this day special for our daughter! And I HAVE to mention the margaritas!!! So so good!!! Did I say good!! They're SO GOOD!! I only needed one!??
First timer at this great spot downtown New Braunfels! I loved it! Bowling, private events, a patio, and I was told you could take your food to the popular bar nextdoor! Fun place, music not too loud. Our server was very friendly and attentive. My foid was good, too! Good portion sizes for a big eater like me. Prices were average. $12 for a burger meal. I definitely wanna return and spend more time there. Oh yeah and they have a stage for bands to play, too!
Perfect spot for every text in regardless of age. You'll see folks better happy and enjoying life in their '80s and kids playing on the arcade games. The pizza is definitely worth stopping in even if you're not a social person. Did I mention they have an arcade and a bowling alley! This is the place to be and if none of that caught your attention a patio that it's connected to has live music. You'll never want to leave!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
