Dogpatch Arcade LLC

Dogpatch Arcade LLC

Reviews Summary

This arcade offers nostalgic, old-school fun with a mix of classic and newer games, appealing to both kids and adults. Many praise its retro charm, friendly staff, and generous ticket payouts. However, frequent complaints mention broken machines that eat money, poor maintenance, and sometimes unhelpful or smoking staff. The atmosphere is often described as dirty or musty, with limited ventilation. While some visitors have fantastic experiences and return annually, others leave disappointed due to operational issues and customer service problems. It's a polarizing spot—beloved by many for its vintage appeal but criticized for upkeep and cleanliness.

Customer Reviews

The games are usually broken, candy is always expired, and prizes are expensive ( Ex : 90 for a piece of candy ). It's fun if you don't expect anything in return though?. Edit : So that response was entirely not true, here's a picture, and if you guys would stop lying about smoking inside a ?family friendly? place, and instead own up to it, that would be awesome.

My 3 year old was super excited to go and spend some time at the arcade, and was upset when we were rushing him because the staff was smoking in the corner next to the redemption counter. I mean cigarette after cigarette! It was a nice day, and the whole place smelled like cigarettes and hard to enjoy the ?family friendly? experience at all. I don't know why they cannot walk to the entrance which is very close on a nice day and smoke out there. This is not a ?well ventilated? building whatsoever. Super unfo

Smoking at the toy counter in the back but calls it a family friendly business. A lot of the games are 100% rigged idc what they say ??. We had to rush to make it worth being there so we found some of the few working games that actually put out tickets and then we got our prizes and got out of there asap. I smell like a cigarette now. To the owner responding that this is a fake review??? How?? My sister also left a review. We were there together and both very disappointed. We went last year for the first t

We enjoy coming here every year at least once. My kids collect their quarters and bring them to the lake knowing they will get to go. Love all the old games. Prepare to be hot and stuffy (it's the lake after all), but they have a lot of fans. It's part of going to the lake. We hope it stays for years to come.

Okay time did smell smoke tho dont know what's up with that maybe the employees or the owner is a heavy smoker maybe they just sit in the back and smoke a lot makes me wonder why they are doing all that in a old place with little ventilation. Kids are there so smoking isn't chill not proper signage to report, so. And definitely don't contradict yourself in the google reviews makes one think yk.

I come here pretty frequently, a lot of the time when I go and eat out. There's no AC and many of the machines don't have full function (especially the DDR machine, which breaks my heart that I can't play doubles on it, the machine's pad is worn and not fully functional, and the right side doesn't have a functional difficulty changer, forcing player 2's to stay on easy). HOWEVER, I still come here a lot. Why? Because they're really your only option if you want to go to an arcade at the lake. Plus, they DO

This place is a classic! Once you walk through the doors it's like you've stepped back in time. The employees are kind, if something isn't working they fix the issue as soon as they can and rectify the situation if needed. Come with $1s, $5s, $10s, and $20s, or save your quarters to bring with you. The only complaint, if you want to call it that, is that the crane machines are almost impossible to win anything from (either because the stuffiest are packed in so tightly or because the crane arms aren't stron

Great time on the strip with the kids. Played games for a while then walked next door for some fudge and down the street for some amazing ice cream.

We bring the kids here every year. We love it. I like the staff. The lady is always nice to the kids. And I know that lady is tired. The heat?. Some games will eat the quarters. So don't work. Who cares. This place is a classic. I went here when I was a kid. See ya next year !!!!

They have upgraded a few games their which is a pleasant surprise. Keep doing that. Plus I can go there and occupy my time with my child then to go anywhere else and spend 40$. Its really a fun place to be with strip atmosphere.

A blast from the past! I came here every year as a child and it has barely changed. Bonus: the arm wrestling game was featured on an episode of Netflix?s ?Ozark.?

Dogpatch Arcade LLC is awesome! The have a ton of fun games, and in a fun area! I always enjoyed coming here! Definitely worth going to! Have a great day!

This place is like stepping back in time it was awesome some the pinball machines and old video games they had my kid had a blast

There are lots of old school arcade games, but we found multiple games that simply ate your money and didn't work.

I will always love this place. Orginal skee ball in the back. The History Tree is right out back as well. Dogpatch has vintage pin ball machines, vintage ride-on's, and toy scoop cranes. Visit everytime you come to the lake.

Honestly wish this place could live forever.it was a childhood haunt that brought back some amazing memories that generations to cone won't grasp

It's a nice arcade but humid as all get out. It's in an open-faces building with just fans. So you are at the mercy of the weather. There are big fans, but the place is always packed. Plus, all the machines are coin-operated with no option for a card. There is an ATM with a $3.25 surcharge plus your bank fee, and it only dispenses $20s. Still, the games are in good shape, and the staff is very nice.

Wow! This is the arcade of my little girl dreams! So many new systems, and so many old ones, this is truly a historic gemstone that gave so many children a fun place to enjoy themselves, to enjoy their family, and enjoy the fun!

If everything worked as it should this place would be magical. The lady working helped us out and did shut a couple of the machines off. The pinball selection and skeeball selection is incredible and that alone makes the place worthy of a stop. I spend $40-60 every time I go. Try to find a local guy to fix up some of the machines, a lot of videos on YouTube could solve a lot of the machines issues. Good old-school feel and lots of good quality games still to play. (After response- I didn't think about parts

WE HAD SO MUCH FUNNNN!!!! We ended up going back the next day and playing some more. I love the variety of old and new games. It does get stuffy inside but bring a water and you'll be fine. As for other people leaving reviews for games not working I saw multiple customers being helped with those issues when they arose when communicating the issues. Also witnessed staff doing maintenance on machines. We come to the ozarks every summer but the first time we have stopped by the arcade we will definitely be bac

Not good. We took the kids, but they had the entire back section closed. They were looking forward to the pinball machines.

It's old. It smells a bit weird. The prizes kinda suck. There is a variety of games and the prices to play weren't crazy.

Great old arcade! Lots of games and very friendly staff. We will be returning for sure!

Been going here since I was a kid. It's old school cool for sure!

The kids had fun, but some machines ate quarters

Really cool arcade! Some of the games are broken and steal your money, but otherwise it's really fun! (I also got the high score on pacman ??)

They turned off a machine once I got a certain amount of tickets!!!

I love this arcade. They have a ton of old pinball machines. The only issue is that I called twice this morning to see if they were open and was told that they were. Then when I got there the doors were closed and the ladies in the dogpatch store next door said it would probably open in an hour or two. I wasted my gas money because I was told they were open.

They have a huge selection of games.. BUT very expensive! Most of them cost a minimum of $1 and the ticket rewards are small. Appeared dark and dirty and as far as we could see only 1 staff. Waited a half an hour for our little one to redeem the few tickets he had and ended up giving up, because we couldn't find anyone to help us.. so we gave our tickets to another family. I wouldn't go back.

Edit after their response: I feel like your response made things worse. I am not employed by your business. It is not my job to inform you when your machines don't work. I'm there to have fun, not have to talk to a worker after each time I use a machine. I get you're short staffed. Why not try out the machines before you open? Maybe try something else. The game you are responding about isn't even the game I'm talking about. The stock the blocks game (probably called something similar to that) is an electro

This place could be so much more than it is.. most of the machines are older and broken. Some of the ones that aren't will eat your quarters. People still pack in the place. I wonder if the owners realize how much revenue they are missing out on not investing in newer machines.

It's little mans favorite place?? We always have so much fun!!

most the just eat your money and you don't get to play, and the games that do work are rigged.

We were there for a total of 10 minutes. Lady comes by to tell us they close in 30. We go to play skeeball and right after we put in our quarters to play, she shut ALL of the games down. Lost money and couldn't get it back. Very rude. Shut the door on us on the way out.

Half the games didn't work. Employees were smoking in the arcade which I understand that this is allowed but as a family-friendly business, I would think that you wouldn't want to harm your clients. The employees were rude to deal with. The whole backroom was either off or broken. And about a quarter of the front room was out of order... As a business owner, I understand doing proper maintenance for machinery but the signs on the machines have been present for a while. Clearly apparent by the dust present.

Me and my father especially love playing arcade games specifically pinball. Dogpatch has one of the biggest amount of pinball machines in LOFO. We always go every year, and usually we have a lot of fun. But I would like to point out many things that could be fixed about pinball and other games in the location. Please set the chance to get replays lower. You're missing out on a ton of money by giving away so many free games. If a game is not working, turn off the game or put out of order. Many games there ar

Nice old time arcade. Good pinball: 12-15 games, most in good shape. Only negative is lack of climate control. Fans do keep airflow going though.

It's bigger than it looks from the street. Games from the past and newer games too. We tried both pool tables, but the balls would not come out. Only got $.50 back from the establishment. So I lost 1.50$. Games are affordable and tickets are plenty when you win. Sure to have a good time, if you want too!

Spent less than $25 (100 quarters!!) for our 5 yr old grandkids to have a heck of a lot of fun. We took their parents there 25 years ago. Several adults were there playing games too and gave our kids their tickets. 2 older ladies worked the prize/trinket counter and really got a kick out of the kids' excitement. Very nice. . . Lot's of fun!! So glad it's still there!!! Took lots of pictures.

Cool old-school arcade fun for all ages!

Waste of time and money. Machines are not maintained. Of 5 machines I fed money into, 2 actually worked without issues. There appeared to be some games for very young children that worked. It's Bagnall dam, so they don't care about returning customers.

What a fun place to play arcade games. Love the variety of games (SO MANY) and the fact they use quarters rather than a card you swipe. Busy place with nostalgia coursing through the entire facility!

This was my original review: 3 Stars You might need a tetanus shot after leaving. It's more like a warehouse with some video games and some questionable games at that. Not a cheap place either. The people that work or own it, don't seem very friendly. They have a lot of rules on the window that end with "you'll be kicked out"! Old school, worth a look, & play at your own risk. Here is the new review after they responded, 2 Stars! It seems I have struck a nerve, but I would ask you to read their response

Love this place. If you don't like Dogpatch Arcade, it's your loss. They may not be perfect to some but they are to me. I don't care they smoke. I don't care some of the machines don't work. I don't care that it feels dirty. They have a really awesome selection of games for all ages; really good variety of pinball machines that are all in working order. They are one of the only arcades in Missouri that I know of that has Dance Dance Revolution. Lots of other fun machines that you just don't see very often.

Always has the best souvenirs to get for anyone while your at the lake! They have great customer service as well!! We always stop in here on our last day at the Magic dragon car show.

It was not the best of places, I don't wish to be rude but its really just not. I understand they are a open door/outside arcade but I feel as if they could clean it up a bit more. The games however were mostly all broken, they gave you back your money buts it's still annoying. l feel they could overall fix up their business

It was good overall. But some of their machines need some work. Some of them do not give out tickets like they're supposed to. We had one machine take our money but they were good to refund it. My son and my grandson both enjoyed the experience.

Hilarious some of these comments about employees being rude and the place being old. If you worked around a thousand people a day in the heat you would be grumpy too. Yes it's an old place probably since the 60s. And one of the very few it's an ARCADE not the Hilton. Don't except perfect customer service or all the machines working all the time. Always a blast. Old games bring back a lot of memories. Fun to win prizes. ????

just so everyone knows, none of their response is true. We come to this arcade all the time with our toddler and have a blast. We will never come back. We went today and our 3 year old won a jackpot of over 3k tickets. The owner/manager (who happened to be smoking cigarettes inside around children which was a nice touch) accused us is ?messing with the game?. The game was enclose in glass by the way. After accusing us of stealing and refusing to give any prizes he and another employee cursed, told me they

A lot of broken games. No AC But staff is polite and what games worked where fun. Ticket payout was generous and got some cool carnival trinkets.

Kids had alot of fun, my only complaint is several games take your money and don't work. It needs updated.

This place is disgusting. Dirty and the games take money without working. How about the lady sitting behind the counter chain smoking?! There are kids in there and now we smell like we went to a bar. I don't recommend this place at all. Reply to their response. I said nothing about dust. This place is gross. FYI, fans do nothing for smoke. The fans you have just blow it all over the arcade. How about just don't smoke inside?! What a concept ??

A nostalgic stop. My parents took me a time or two as a child, we took our children and now our grandchildren. Not much has changed. The arcade has a mix of games of chance with ticket winnings, crane grabs, skeeball and video games. 85% we tried worked properly. Kids had fun as long as the tokens lasted. Games .50-$1.00. The gift shop was as you might expect: everything from decal, mugs, t-shirts, and moonshine jelly. Fun memories, but my last visit!

I've heard about this place for years. It really was awesome. So much fun for adults or kids. Had a couple machines not work quite right but the owner gave me my quarters right back. Totally old school arcade feel. We will be back.

So much fun!! Really seemed to get our money's worth out of the games!!

I loved the old school feel but the people working we're not very personable if the machine shorted you money or tickets they were just fixing the machine and not refunding it which was upsetting for the kids. There was also a ton of handwritten signs with rules on how many tickets you could put in and it made the place seem very cheap.

Great retro style arcade with everything a millennial would want plus you can win tickets to trade for prizes. Perfect example of an American past time.

The appearance is dirty, several games didn't work, and the staff member was on the phone each time we needed to report a machine was not working. She was not in a hurry to assist us. I took my 4 year old grandson so of Course we had fun but I don't plan to revisit due to the issues indicated.

Cool place! Lots of vintage games. Loved it!

They have the most ski ball games that I ever seen! I have loved this place since I was a kid! Fun for the whole family!

This place is HUGE! today (10/5) we stopped in for a random 1st time visit and was awed away in how big this place actually is and it has soooooo many games! Check it out!!

This place took me back to when I was growing up. They had arcade games from back in the 80s. It smelled like an arcade it was great. They had Skee ball, pinball machines, air hockey ... I could go on. This was a great place to go and have fun, loved it!

There were so many games that didn't work properly, the amount of money we spent to get tickets for a prize was as ridiculous as the prize itself, we spent $60 & the prize was something you'd get from the large mixed gift bags for birthday party's at walmart. The women running the cage shouldn't be in a business that talking to people is part of the job. They were rude to customers & yelled at about everyone in there. I get it's loud due to the fans & games going off, but you can tell a difference in talkin

They had South Park pinball I never thought I would see it in my lifetime

Doesn't even deserve a single star. Absolutely Terrible service. She was extremely rude and acted as if I was dumb when I asked if there was an ATM(which there sign said there was) but she told me no. Then they closed the arcade and store 4hours early at 6pm when they're sign read 1. Even tho I told them my son was trying to play in the arcade. This was on Friday April 7th. Whoever the two women working were deserve to lose there jobs. Sham e on you

Had a great time with the kids. Some machines didn't work and took our money. Other machines worked so well, they paid out more tickets than we actually won.

Its OK, loved the older games mixed with newer ones. But, most were broken, too crowded to walk around, almost all the machines we tried ate the money, staff was far from nice, and prizes were way over priced. We lost 4 dollars in machines that didn't work, out of 12. We, gave up wasting money..

This place has a lot of potential. lots of the machines were broken down and the place needed a lot of work. Our kids love arcades, so we wanted to give it a try. The staff was not very friendly. Hopefully someone can fix the place up and make it great again

I bring my granddaughter here to the arcade every summer. We always have fun!

So this place is like taking a trip back in time! Very cool old school arcade. Very nice pinball machines. Some of the older games you'll see don't work well but are neat to witness. Not the place to go if your looking for cool prizes. My only complaint is the horrendous cigarette smell being so strong it soaks into your soul. Had a great time!

It's an arcade. Most all the games worked, only a few here and there that don't. They had a repairman working on one, so I don't imagine they let them sit broken for long. I was disappointed by the cost-- most games were $1/play and the rest $.50/play. Their prizes weren't very amazing; pretty typical. As in, most of the items for 700 tickets were stuff that looked like it came from Dollar Tree or small pieces of candy. Kids enjoyed it though, so...

Fun place to play games. Prizes aren't worth the tickets they have them listed for. Easily plan to spend $10-$20/pp.

The kids had a blast! Mix of new, old, and really old games. The troll behind the counter giving prizes to children could be a little less grumpy.

It was ok. Lot of games was eating my money with no game play. I spent twenty and maybe play 6 minutes. But it was fun while it lasted. Also was a very hot day today and they don't have air. It was likea oven.

Half of the games didn't work. Took my money several times. But, My grandson did enjoy his time there.

HAD A BLAST!!! We are 40 plus but it took us back to our good old days!!! Old school Skee ball at it's best and some fun older Pin Ball games! Enjoyed the night with many laughs :)

Most favorite arcade! Real cool and laid back clean and most all the machines work. The workers are cool as well, Never had a problem and always got a refund or problem fixed immediately.

We had fun playing games but when it came time to cash in tickets, the lady at the desk literally started screaming in my step-son's face that he was lying about how many tickets he won. When his dad tried to tell her that we witnessed him winning the tickets, she threatened to knock him out!

Love taking the kids to the arcade but since last year the prices have gone up per game, a portion of the games didnt work properly or just took your quarters. You need to many tickets to get some of the smaller items. Not worth standing in the heat to play games

Love this place. Been going since I was a kid and now I take my kids there. Only downfall is its always hot in there no matter what.

This place is ran by 2 tweakers. One can't walk and uses his customers as punching bags while falling. Hitting a high risk 8 month pregnant lady is not a good way to run a business. He gave me a whole dollar in quarters to play one of his cheap, overpriced, outdated, sorry excuse for a arcade game. Half of the games don't even work. 10/10 don't recommend.

Fun place, lots of pricey junk, tourist trap.

Fun little spot that's great for the whole family. We need more places like this along the strip!

Many of the machines were broken, took our money but we couldn't play. The employees behind the counter were not very pleasant either. My 3 kids wanted to leave within 5 minutes. :-(

It was a weekend at about 10:50ish at night and never felt so rushed or UNAPPRECIATED as a customer. It was about 5 of us and we dropped a pretty penny to say the least.... We won't be returning which is sad since we live locally

It's just ok, not pleased to see the staff smoking cigarettes in front of a very large fan. Building smells like a musty old bowling alley, could use some cleaning! Only plus is they have great pinball selection.

Came here originally in 2018, when we were back in the LOZ, had to return. Felt like a kid again. Classic arcade fun, skiball, pin ball. Super nostalgic and fun!

Came all the way from St Louis, and my son was looking forward to playing games and riding rides, we show up at 840 and they say they are closing at 9. I tell her ok we don't need to do much, and she then proceededto tell me he was closing everything down.. so I had to tell my 3 yr old that was can't stay , he was very disappointed to say the least.. def won't spend my money here in reply to owner : it wasn't the point you closed early, it was the fact that you wouldn't let us in to play games for the l

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
