Dave & Buster's Rosemont

Dave & Buster's Rosemont

Reviews Summary

Dave & Buster's in Rosemont offers a mix of experiences. Many praise the fun atmosphere, spacious layout, and attentive staff, especially for birthdays or group events. However, service inconsistencies are a common complaint—long waits for seating, food, or checks, and occasional staff indifference. Food quality varies, with some dishes delighting while others disappoint. The arcade is well-stocked but expensive, with credits depleting quickly. Private events sometimes lack proper communication, frustrating guests. While some visitors rave about the upgrades and rewards, others feel nickel-and-dimed or underwhelmed by value. Cleanliness is generally good, but occasional hiccups like clogged toilets or unhelpful hosts detract. Overall, it’s a solid spot for entertainment, but service and pricing can be hit-or-miss.

We visited on a Saturday with a party of 6 people. It was very busy but not overbarring. I recommend reserving a table on their company website. I found that they typically give out a 45 minute wait time to everyone, however I noticed that there were many empty tables. I figure they do this so people enjoy the games first and eat after. While I was there I reserved a table online and it was within the next 15 minutes. The food was good quality for the prices. Our food bill was $150 for six people including

I recently visited Dave & Buster?s in Rosemont with a group of four adults on a Sunday. The venue was bustling with families, creating a lively atmosphere. Purchasing game cards was somewhat confusing due to the various options and the non-standard credit pricing for games, such as 8.9 or 11.3 credits per play. This pricing structure seemed designed to encourage additional spending, reminiscent of typical carnival practices. When we decided to have a snack, we were directed to the host and informed of a 90

Literally sitting here at a bar for the past 20 min everyone is just passing by no ones offering to take my order even after I raise my hand, i just want a darn beer. Terrible service or just racist towards asian people idk. What a shame. Two guys on my left and right got served drinks and food. One server asked the guy next to me if theyre good. And im right next to this dude. Im straight up ignored. I was pissed so i left the bar, but I was here for a kids birthday party so im stuck here. A few minutes la

Fun place but so many areas it improve on! Poor quality food for the price. Over priced drinks. Games are ok but staff to help with card service are hit or miss.(spent $150 on a platinum card just to have it not to work almost every time I'm there.)

I went here with my parents who are HUGE Dave and busters fans. Dave and busters seemed to get some new questionable pinball games. Maybe these are the cool new games the kids are playing nowadays. Or maybe it's a reference to a cool new Internet theme for the young folk. I did get a lot of tickets from the new games so I am still happy.

First walked in and got service right away. The host was very nice and friendly. We got our cards to play the games. Then we sat down for dinner. Most of the food was good. My son's wings were HORRIBLE. We sent them back and he got them remade. This time they came out and we're very good. Kids had a blast playing the games. The connect 4 basketball games was our favorite. Great place to go if you don't mind spending the money.

Ok, so firstly, go for the games, not the food or service, because the games were good. However, the service was slow, and the food probably would have been better hot. Our food came out before the drinks, and the chicken was getting cold. Cocktails weren't great, stock with beer and games.

Our server, Brian was awesome. First time here, he welcomed us, had a good conversation and his service was amazing. Thanks, Brian!

I didn't come here with any expectations on the food side because it is an arcade after all. The grilled chicken ceasar salad bowl was the nastiest, most rushed dish I've ever ate. They threw all the toppings in a bowl, 1/10. The drinks was very watered down. I don't understand the point of a full bar if you're not going to at least make decent drinks?they really tried with their cantina chicken nachos but just no. The chicken meat was fake, like it came out of a can. How can you price a nacho $16.00 and do

Last time I was at D&B it was ~ 20 years ago and I did recall food was great and inexpensive. This time at Rosemont we (party of 2) ordered 1 glass of beer, 1 Margarita, chicken nachos and chicken Caesar salad. I was surprised at the end for a check of ~$80. With tips it was over $100. I guess it's Chicago taxes and rates. Later at home I looked at their menu and realized there were not prices for anything. Well, food was great, but pricing kinda surprised.

Since the location in Addison is closed, we tried this one. It's smaller and more crowded than Addison. There's no front desk. There are machines to reload your card. My friend and I were not able to get those machines to work. Not even to check balance and tickets. We had to go to the merchandise ticket area to get the cards loaded and to check how many tickets were on the card. You're supposed to be able to tap the card on the games, but none of those worked. I didn't see any staff on the floor to help. T

Quiet honestly, nice, clean establishment however you don't get your moneys worth. I brought a game card for $25 each for two kids with 200 credits. If you consider the games cost 7.5 credits you can be out of credits within 35 minutes. The longer you're there the more you spend. I spend more of course but you can essentially only hit 5-6 games and you're done . I just think it's gotten super expensive and nothing has changed. The Mario cars are fun. Like I said, be prepared to spend.

Why do you have 8 servers dickin around the bar area and only 2 bartenders who can actually serve you? The bar area is clearly too large for only 2 people to maintain. I feel like this situation could be easily remedied. I shouldn't have to chase people around the bar to get a Miller Lite.

My family and I stopped in for dinner before taking my daughter back to her duty station. We were seated in the bar area although she was in uniform. We were seated for over 20 minutes and no one hadn't taken our drink order so I inquired when someone would be coming and I was told "We're changing shifts so in a minute." We waited another 10 minutes while we saw people who'd come in after us be seated and served drinks. My husband went to find a manager to ask as we were pressed for time. The manager went o

To clarify the gaming area is fine, this is specifically reviewing the dining experience. I've been here a couple of times and unfortunately the bar service is very inconsistent. While I've have plenty of positive experiences, including during a birthday celebration with multiple guests, where we were tended to pretty well, the two negative experiences really stand out, especially because they are very similar. On my latest visit I showed up about an hour and half before closing so I could grab a quick bite

Had a great time, twice! They mark up the prices of games on the weekends, but I mean that's expected. Drinks are good, strong, and cheap, but they take a while to come help u

It was our first time here. We went to the kiosk to get buy the eat drink and play package. We tried doing it with cash and it kept refunding the money. We tried with card and it gave us the same issue. The workers were nice enough to understand our situation and told us to buy it through the server. So she escorted us to the tables. We ordered food but weren't explained how the package worked. We ended up only buying an appetizer tray and the $22 card for 100 chips. The food was very good. The server did

Attentive waitress, got order spot on while adhering to my request of getting all the food out at same time including the dessert! Food was excellent except the chicken Cesar, they added wayy too much dressing which made the salad all soggy and not pleasing to eat.

Ive been coming for half a decade now. And Margarita is the least friendliest server I've ever had experienced. She always has an attitude. When I come on Wednesdays she seems to be the only server available. Since I filed a complaint about her service I can't seem to get seated in a comfortable table with my family. I am limited to the bar. I want to eat where I'm comfortable not where I'm told to sit simply because "that's all there is". When clearly there's open tables available. Hire other serves, get r

After waiting almost 10 minutes to be seated, we were finally shown to a table. After another 15 min, our server finally showed up. The whole time we waited for a server, you can see the workers at the end of the bar just playing around as if they have nothing to do. What looked like a manager just looked around and didn't help any tables, just walking back and forth as if they were doing something. Finally server came to take initial order. She did get drinks to us pretty quick then just disappeared. I en

This Dave & Busters location is a mediocre time out with friends.. they dont have much of a selection of fun games, the food/cooks are pretty bad minus the bar food they have. Cocktails are made terribly as well. Despite some of the food looking good in the pictures, you cannot tell how badly its cooked and oversalted. Ive seen newer gaming lounges and other arcade/fun places that make this feel so obsolete and outdated. The games cost alot and before you know it, you've ran out of credits to play. Some o

D&B has made a change, as the front desk has been replaced with self-serve kiosks. I had a $20 coupon with clear instructions to go to the front desk attendant which was difficult to get help from. The new digital format was rather confusing and explained in haste. It was very frustrating that the staff member was helping another guest even though I was there first. Despite that, once the card and coupon was created I was very happy that the same games my son enjoyed were still there. D&B has a wide variety

Ummm? I feel like we waited forever for everything! The server, the food, the drinks, EVERYTHING! Then we asked for one thing and we were brought two of them.. he just didn't listen. And there weren't nearly enough ppl behind the bar for it to be happy hour! But I like the update. Just wish the entire experience was better. Especially on my birthday.

This is one of the best D+B?s for games. There's plenty of space and tons of games to play. But the food service? Awful, don't eat here. The servers have 0 awareness and it's impossible to get their attention for the slightest need. The food service is consistently poor every time I eat there, it's not just a one off experience.

Amazing service and food I come here all the time with the kids. There's a huge game selection. We dont usually sit down and eat often but we did this weekend and the food was very good and our waitress Angela was great and very attentive although it was very busy and I really appreciated that.

The games there are so much fun for all ages!

We visited this location to celebrate my daughter's birthday. However, we encountered a very rude family that even asked my daughter to move from the claw machine to let her daughter play. My daughter was so upset, but she let them play even though she just had paid for turn to play. This woman and her daughter were extremely rude and disrespectful. We left, and I don't think we are coming back to this location.

Food and atmosphere were awesome but our waitress was nickel and diming us at every turn. My friend orders a burger asks for some guac on it our waitress says side of guac he said on the side is fine too but he get served and charged a full set of crisps and guac. I order the Cajun pasta server asks if i want garlic toast with it and stupidly I assume I get a side I say sure but got charged for the side(never in my life have i been offered something that was not disclosed to me that it is extra except when

I've been coming here for years and will never come back. We were at the table 20 min before any staff came and talked to us. The manager came by, clearly irritated and apologized that the server was behind. She rolled her eyes at my husband because he got happy when she asked for his id after he ordered a beer. We ordered all of our food and drinks and still didn't have anything on the table for another 20 minutes. They didn't have the vegetarian option and offered a sandwich which ended up being fries on

My expectations were high but it was alright. Lots of shooter-based arcade games which is fine but I thought they'd have more non-digital games like pool or something idk. The only thing that made it more ?adult? than a chuck e cheese was the bar but we sat there for fifteen minutes and no one came over to take orders. Similar to when we ordered food, we waited 10 min to order and another 30 for the check. They weren't busy, the waitstaff was just huddled in a group by the bar talking.

So much fun hehe from the atmosphere, games, and spending time with friends. It's always delicious but a bit crowded last time we went. The service was good but it was busy to get staff members' attention, which I understand. No worries, though the games were fun and my friends and I enjoyed being at Dave and Buster's. We'll definitely be back.

So went to this location for dinner with some friends. We ordered our food and waited. 45 minutes go by with 4 of the six meals delivered. My girlfriend and i continued to wait longer for our food. She ordered the dave and busters bacon burger and I ordered the philly cheese steak. Everyone ordered other sandwiches. The waitress we had kept saying she was checking on it and ultimately stop showing up altogether. During our wait i saw 2 tables get seated, ate and left before receiving our food. I final

Felt very UNWELCOME. The place wasn't very busy, yet we waited forever for a beer. We ordered an appitiser and weren't given plates or silverwear. The bartendes both of them were extremely rude and unprofessional. Not only to us but to several other customers. We finished our beers and left. Never to return.

Not sure why when I came in to eat at around 3 pm with family, we were asked by two women at the host desk, if everyone was older than 18 years old which we confirmed that everyone was above 18 years old but immediately were asked for ID?s although we just came to eat and not order any alcoholic drinks. We also noticed other people coming in were immediately seated without any problem. Would?ve understood the reasoning for the Id?s had we ordered alcoholic drinks but were not given any reason why they were

The bartenders were hustling. But it took Them forever to help us. They just need more people. Great positive attitudes from them. Also the bar layout needs help they kept on Going around the whole bar looking for ingredients for drinks that should be available at all stations. Bartenders please give your input if you visit this location

My daughter likes coming here, but three weeks ago, I drove her over right after school since it was also the special discount day. We were both excited, but as soon as we walked through the first doors, an employee stopped us and said the place was reserved for a private event. I totally understand if there's a private booking, but wouldn't it be better to post that information on your website? That way, other customers wouldn't waste time and gas driving all the way there only to find out they can't get i

I had an amazing experience at Dave & Buster's, thanks to Meagan and her team! We got to sit at the center booth with a giant screen and the sound on, making it perfect for watching the game. The atmosphere was fun with other fans celebrating nearby. It was a Monday night for Game 7 though, so fairly empty as well which was nice. Our waiter was exceptional, providing the best service I've had in a long time. It's the first time I've happily tipped over 30% in ages! Even though it was our first time there f

Had a great time with my son just playing games together. Lots of free parking available (depending on time/day you go). Food was kinda what you expected, a little pricey, but taste good. The lack of available servers made it a 3-star.

Driver's are NOT comped when bringing 30 plus passengers... All other restaurant appreciate the business being brought. The reason I was told is because the drivers don't tip their waitresses. However, we bring hundreds of dollars to your establishment!!SMH

Stepped up their menu for sure. But the fact it actually looks like a sports book is amazing. And if you play darts. They have vip dart tables in the sport bookish bar area. Its gas!!

Food and games were fun. The value of the cards for the amount of games able to be played was decent compared to other arcades I've visited. The only complaint was we had fruit flies or gnats buzzing us at our table. I don't think it was a sanitary thing, but I noticed other tables swatting at the air too.

I loved their kale salad but now it's no longer available bummer. However food is always on point. The nachos were very good so was the teriyaki ribs and flat bread. The dessert was delicious. This fed a family of 4. Plus my Cesar salad I forgot to take a pic. Kids have a great time. It gets packed but not ridiculously. Cool place to play games, play pool, watch sports or have a birthday party. The place is spacious, clean and very up to date and has a great bar as well.

Be ready to wait 20 min to be seated due to a skeleton crew for serving staff. Waited over half an hour for the check and that was asking the bartender twice. They say they have about 5 people ahead of me before I can even just get the check to leave this place.

I recently ordered takeout from this restaurant, specifically two Chicken Parmesan dishes, chips and a pizza. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the quality of the meal. The portions were noticeably small, and the chicken did not taste fresh, leading me to believe it might have been prepared a couple of days earlier. Overall, the experience was quite unsatisfactory and I just wasted my money. I used to be a regular customer who loved the food here, but it seems like something has changed recently. I ho

I love the bar area super efficient!!! The hostess need a refresher of their job, we checked in at 7:15 told us about 45 minutes because they were too busy speaking to the security guards they overlooked us, we had kids, it always seems like a problem when one or 2 particular people are there. Although they make good money everyday, you are losing customers because of the way it's ran.

By far the best experience for kids, really fun for adults to watch their kids enjoy. Family friendly. King staff. Budget friendly. Really people should take their kids here for a good time. It was an impressive and immersive experience.

Horrible bartending service! My friend and I had ordered our drinks with a bartender named Jessica, at the time of us ordering we had specified that we wanted two separate tabs; she had put our order under one tab; and had told us that when we close our tab, we would be able to do two separate tabs. Come the time we close our tab, and the same bartender gives us attitude on how we couldn't just pay for one tab; and how we couldn't just had Zelled each other the difference of the tab; along with how she had

It was game night for the crew and we took it to Dave & Buster ????

Didn't eat anything. Just went for the games. Definitely a much better set up than other D&B's in Illinois. Would have rated 5 stars but I just wish the women's bathrooms had anything good about them. ??

I belive her name was Ashley.... she's one of the bartenders. AND SHE TURNED MY NIGHT AROUND, because my whole day sucked!! It was my birthday the 16th. And EVERYTHING, ALL DAY, SUCKED!! ( Before i got to D&B ) WHY IS SHE NOT A MANAGER?? SHE SEEMS TO KEEP HER COOL WHEN ALOTS GOING ON. AND SHE KEPT UP WITH MY CONVERSATION! WHICH IS SHOCKING...BUT IMPRESSIVE. THANKS AGAIN ASHLEY!???? THE DRINKS GOT ME LAYED AND MY BIRTHDAY ENDED ......better then it would have....lets just say that.?? Ill be back nextweeke

Took my girlfriend here for the first time. The food was excellent, the drink I ordered, something Mango was out of this world. Normally only get 1 drink, I had 2. I saved the strawberry infused ice cubes and ate them for dessert, perect. Lots of games for all ages. My GF and I are 37 and we had a blast!!!

If I could give ZERO stars I would. The green hair bartender makes an ugly face at the bar before we even sat down. She even had an attitude when we simply asked ?what time does the kitchen close.? We got there around 9:45PM & wanted to make sure we arrived before kitchen closed. She ROLLED HER EYES & said ?it closes at 11PM? and walks away and doesn't give us any menus. All she did was ask what we wanted to drink so I said ?Long Island?. She comes back tells me which kind they have BUT STILL NO MENU TO EVE

We took a few kids here for a couple hours and goes without saying the kids had a blast. We did not eat just played games, but overall it was fun with a ton of games but the money goes quickly in places like this (games could be lower credits). The adults did the VR which was actually really fun. The staff was nice and helpful next time we will try and eat to see how the food is.

I had such a wonderful experience at the Rosemont Dave & Buster's. Megan to care of us which was amazing because my daughter announced her engagement and we were there to celebrate her birthday. Just all around great service and felt very attended too.

There's a discount for first responders and I obviously didn't have it so I showed my server at the bar my online license and drivers license. He still insisted he needed the physical ID so I told him I don't carry around my ID everywhere so he said he can get the manager. Manager didn't greet me or anything but flat out rudely said "yeah no" when he came out and left. No other place has treated me this way and Dave and busters clearly do not respect first responders

There for Trader Joe's party for crew. Food was meh. But servers knowledgeable and helpful. Very clean and spacious. Kids love it. At 50....ish loved some of it . Loud and some games very complicated without prior play time. Think most ticketed gifts cheap and useless stuff which ends up in a landfill.

Steak bowl was delicious and good size portion

Games are always good. Staff was super friendly. Food tasted good but we had a large party booked with buffet and ran out of food. Drained the drink dispensers so fast they couldn't keep up.

This location was a mixed experience and I hate to penalize the servers who were great! The hostess was indifferent to us and the wait for the food was really long for it being a weekday and nearly empty. The facility was pretty clean and games were working properly and functioning as you would expect. Restrooms were ok but one toilet was clogged. Tried the new potstickers and they were spicy so beware but overall not bad!

We got ribs and boneless chicken wings with honey Sriracha sauce, ribs were good, but the wings were just so so

My Mushroom Stout burger was delicious! I loved the bacon jam. My daughter said that the chicken strips were very dry and were mostly breading, but she loved the fries.

Once seated by the hostes, my family and I sat without service for 45 min due to a misunderstanding regarding assignments between staff. The food appeared rushed to cook and tasted subpar whilst the servers distributed dishes with what can only be described as disdain. If I were to rate the establishment separately, food/restaurant to arcade the restaurant would be a 2 and the arcade a 4. In addition to the shoddy service, whereas servers lack hospitality or enthusiasm. I'd have to strongly discourage the

Rosemont Dave and Busters looks like an entirely different building! Check out the newest Shuffle Board and Dart simulator entertainment bays, only at DNB! 3 of each located on the restaurant side of the building. Entire WOW WALL of flatscreen TVs for all the best sports viewing entertainment! The arcade was completely redone with new games and better game placement. Easier accessibility and less shoulder to shoulder contact with other guests trying to walk around. They also added a VIP Lounge room to enhan

Our evening started with a hiccup, I had called in and made a reservation for 4 at 5 pm(2 adults 2 children-who were ready to play). After speaking to the host our reservation was not saved and they had people waiting. I was pretty irritated since I called and there were no issues about my same day reservation. They were able to seat us pretty promptly - I was thankful for that. Our waitress was super nice and accommodating. While waiting for our order we were taking selfies with the kids (Auntie situation

They have changed all the games around and even changed some out. They added 2 cool game rooms we didn't get to try but we want to the next time. They even added a table with a tv to play darts. The only reason I didn't give it all 5 stars is it is expensive and the claws machine grip killed me.

My experience with my girlfriend and her family on Tuesday 2/4 for her nephews bday was absolutely horrible. At first, there was only one bartender available to serve us which I understood would mean it'd take sum time to serve us after taking care of bar patrons. She had us split into 2 groups of 4 which we had no problem with it. What I didn't expect was to wait close to 1 hour for a modelo and for the rest of the other 7 patrons to wait on two chocolate milks and like 4 doctor peppers. To start, the bart

Spacious spot compared to other local Dave and Busters. This place has a large basketball game too which makes it fun. Lots of space to move around and we got fast service at the bar even for food! A bit far for us compared to Lombard, but if we have the time we'd make the trip to Rosemont! Lots of cheap drinks although a friend?s $7 Long Island tasted ? interesting ? and that's when we don't complain that it was $7. Check out the rewards and app for specials or coupons! Somehow always finding ways to doub

I have to go back tomorrow been calling since left with kids the waitress was sketchy my charge was 340 get home to see she charged me 580 was taking time with receipt and took advantage of the fact I had 5 kids with me never brung it to sign get home to see she over charged my card and I will definitely be reporting her. Watch your receipt at here! She is an older Hispanic host!!!!

Amazing service/experience. Occasion was 10 bday, Sheila in booking was responsive , Mike the manager was awesome and easy going. Maggie, our waitress was only the best, so attentive. Kids had fun. Food was great and plenty. Lastly they have TVs everywhere so you won't miss any games. Great experience overall. Because of service alone, we can't wait to be back.

I took my class to the Dave and Busters in Rosemont and couldn't have had a better experience!!! The management took time out of their day to present and speak to our students about the ins and outs of the hospitality business. Mike and Meagan went above and beyond! The staff were top notch and treated each of us like kings and queens. So generous and so fun! Cannot wait to bring back another class in the spring!

Always a good time for a game night. But eat before you go. Brian was the worst. . Mistook lemonade for rootbeer, burger was anything but plain & he was too busy hanging out/talking/on his phone to check on everything. . realize one meal wasn't ate & other needed to go boxes. And then trying to get the check, uhg, we went to him for it.

It was a great experience that me and my choir had

Horrible service and suspiciously and absurdly weak drinks. I shouldnt be able to drink 3 long Islands and be able to not feel a thing. Prize selection was also trash compared to other location. Id skip this location if you can.

Way better than I remember from years ago. It was busy but not crowded for a Saturday night.

I went here to get some dessert and coffee, which was delicious. There is plenty of parking.

Great bartender Masceo! He recommend the chicken strips and the Mexican candy shots, so good! Great customer service and good music playing. Totally coming back!

If you're looking for a night out with the kids, this is a great place to go. They also have a great menu and any beverage you're looking for.

I had an amazing unusual but favorable experience blessings are an understatement the waiter the manager the cashier everyone was beyond nice I am recommending everyone go to Dave and busters in Rosemont keith francisco are dynamic ?? ??

Unfortunately, I have to downgrade my review from a 5 to a 3. My original review is below this update. I returned with my family a few weeks after our first visit. We saw the specials for Eat Play combos and they looked like a pretty good deal. They offer it Monday though Thursday all day and up until 5 pm on Friday and Saturday. You can order from 17 entrees between $18-23 and get a $10 play card. For $8 more, you could upgrade to a $20 card. The restaurant is huge with many different segments of eating ar

I came here with my sister in law and her kids and the moment we came in we knew we would have fun. The staff was very attentive and right away said hello and got us a table. LT our waiter went above and beyond to serve us, he was very attentive, not only to our table but all tables around us, very friendly and efficient! The venue was so clean, the food very good and the manager Mike was always around making sure everything is running smoothly. I have been a Dave and Busters customer at our local one in H

There is no where other than the restaurant to sit down in this place. For all the parents that stay for hours with their children it's ridiculous that you would force them to stand for that duration.

Always enjoy coming here to play some games and have some dinner. It's a comfortable environment. Greats for all ages

Husband's burger was more pink that ordered. Wanted well done, and go medium rare i believe. Most the games r broken or work for a second and then do not finish. Games need repairs, noone around to tell its broken, im sure ppl have tried. Took tokens off my card multiple time before I had to walk away.

Great place. Bar is crowded during sports games. Prize shop is a scam but that's not the point. Lots of fun to be had here. Billiards is also available. Food is good too!

I was there for my Grandson's birthday party. We had a private room. The staff was very attentive. The food was delicious.

Good service on the food side our waitress took good care of us. Unfortunately alot of the things on the menu weren't available. Decent prices on the game side 1st time here & still ended up spending almost $300 for a group of 5 all the games shut down like 5 minutes before 10pm.

Great birthday deals. Staff very professional and accommodating. Thank you Carolina for all your help through the process and Jaz for taking care of my family on site.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun.
