Reviews Summary

Dave & Buster's offers a fun, lively atmosphere with a wide selection of games, making it great for groups and families. However, service can be inconsistent—some report slow or inattentive staff, while others highlight excellent service. Food quality is mixed, with some enjoying the bar fare and others finding it overpriced or mediocre. Pricing for games and drinks is frequently cited as high. I came for a party and was surprised at how clean everything was. Every staff member helped with a smile. It's a nice place to get together with kids . The happy hour was awesome . Lots of space and the kids were out of our hair the whole time .

My family loves to have fun together! And this place has all the fun a family could possibly want! It does cost a pretty penny to play the games but watching my kids enjoy themselves is ABSOLUTELY priceless!! The food is reasonably priced and I haven't eaten anything there that I haven't enjoyed. The liquid diet can hit your pocket as hard as the games do?

Fun with the family. You can order private party ?? rooms (4-16) not sure if it's valid for Cali as Dave & Busters Carlsbad told me it has to be 16 minimum for the private room. The food is excellent. You can get the combo & game card. I won't list the price due to the "price is subject to change." (Check picture though). If you want adult fun mixed with children, this is the place though some argue, it's becoming a kid's playground ??. It appears so. Enjoy!

Dave and Busters is always the same for me. It's fun to go with friends to have some drinks and play games in general. The atmosphere is fun and has a lot going on. However, I have always had their food, and everything is your typical bar food. Pretty good and simple things, last time I came, they had a new dish and it was way better than I expected. I was trying to eat something a little healthier and ended up ordering the Stacked Steak Bowl, Five stars just for this bowl. At least this first time I had it

Came here for happy hour on Friday to celebrate the start of Memorial Day weekend and as we sat down, we asked for a happy hour menu and the bartender said that as of today, there is no more happy hour. Only discounts on "light beers". As we don't typically game, the only reason we came to D&B was because of the great happy hour and now that reason has been taken away.

Great for Team Events and Fun: Dave & Buster's in Carlsbad Delivers! We recently held a co-worker's going-away party at Dave & Buster's in Carlsbad, and it was a fantastic experience for everyone. We had a section of tables reserved, which comfortably accommodated our group. The appetizer selection was plentiful and kept coming! We enjoyed a wide variety of options, including delicious chicken quesadillas, boneless wings, sliders, chicken tenders, fries, and pizza, just to name a few. The staff did a great

We had a team bonding with our son?s soccer team and they had a blast. The service is great, we reserved in advance because it was a big group, the food came quickly and the games are always guaranteed fun.

I live closer to the Mission Valley location but will gladly drive up to this location as it is clean and feels like a safe place to bring children. That said I will remember to eat prior. The food itself is just fine but the service is painfully slow. Overall a great time but will avoid dining and spend more time in the arcade with my family.

It was my nephews bday and we decided to have dinner. Our server, Gabe was awesome. The food was delicious. We played the games and had a blast. Thanks Gabe again for the great customer service. I will definitely be back.

Dave & Buster?s is the ultimate spot for food, fun, and games! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is electric with arcade games, great music, and an energetic vibe. The game selection is fantastic, with everything from classic arcade favorites to high-tech virtual reality experiences. The food and drinks are just as impressive?delicious appetizers, burgers, and creative cocktails that make the experience even better. The service is friendly and efficient, making sure you're having a great time. W

Ordered the funnel cake fries. Only received half an order. See menu picture of what you are supposed to receive vs what is actually brought to your table......very dishonest. Not sure if this is even legal

Great place to go if you're looking for an excuse to go out. Bar has a good selection of drinks and the appetizers are good. Emily gave me some drink recommendations and I have to day I enjoyed what I selected. Emily was very lovely, and seemed confident in her job. Raquel was my server for the night and she always remained attentive to our table and recommended the eat and play combo. Great deal very delicious to say the least. Overall I enjoyed my night at Dave and busters, Great place to eat and have a b

Went for a corporation Christmas event. To be honest, the food buffet served in our private room could've been of better quality. The drinks were good. Servers took forever to serve, take away dishes, and for the bill. They seemed lost and new.

Absolutely loved our experience at Dave & Buster?s Carlsbad! From the moment we walked in, the energy was electric?perfect mix of fun, games, and great vibes. The staff was super friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome right away. We grabbed some food and drinks, and everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious for a place centered around arcade games (those wings were fire!).

I had so much fun watching the fight at dave and busters. the service was amazing. food came out really fast and our server gabe was very attentive. Management was extremely friendly and accommodating. the drinks were great. overall 10/10 experience.

D&B is always a pretty fun place. First time at this location, it seemed to be missing some of the dance games others have. Food was consistent with other locations and pretty good for a place of this type. Only complaint is the boneless wings do not come with any sauce on the side, they are dry rub (or the bake dried out the sauce)

I paid $52 for 320 tickets for each of my 3 grandchildren, thinking they were set for at least a couple of hours worth of fun, within 20 minutes, they were done, simply because most of the games charged an average of 10 to 16 tickets per game, of which only lasted about 30 seconds each. I could have taken them to Knotts Berry Farm for $20 more for each of them, and had a full days worth of fun, this place is a total ripoff.

When you absolutely positively have to feel sticky everywhere from head to toe and you really prefer not to hold a conversation with anyone while just steeping in the total stickiness. These guys are really onto something with this place. ?????? *EDIT* I'm NOT actually knocking it! It's obviously working for them and I think it's amazing! It's too tactile and loud for my preferences but, you go DnB!! Also you can order ICEEs almost anywhere in here. That's really incredible and I mean that.

It's been a few years since we came here. It used to be one of our favorite places. However, our most recent experience today was an absolute disaster. Does anyone actually work there? There was no one to greet or seat, no server came until after about 15 min and we had to ask about a server. By the way, the place was pretty dead so no reason that we couldn't be helped. I noticed most staff just hanging out on their phone, especially the staff behind the bar. We ordered our food, pretty basic easy order. On

Went yesterday with friends to watch football. So glad there is a D&B in the CV ,valley. I have been to numerous ones across the country,! The place was packed on Saturday! Kids have fun. Adults have fun food was tasty!chicken dumplings , deep fried pickles! Located at the River and I will be back!

Best place to be a kid any age ! For the west coast nothing beats it. Sports , beer , video games and lots of fun to be had . This place never gets old .

This is probably the worst food that I've had in a long time. Everything was super salty. We ordered kids mac&cheese and they gave us box watery mac&cheese. The kid meal was $9 without the drink. $4 for kids milk. So we paid $13 for a bowl of box watery mac&cheese. My son didn't even eat it. The truffle fries were cold and the sauce was extremely salty. We paid like $90 and we left starving.

Husband and I stopped there on a Sunday to have a little lunch and the girl Hostess Alicia told us there's only one server in all of the restaurant and it would be about 45 minutes before we got seated . If it was just that contact I would have gave a one-star review but we ended up going to the bar sat down split one of the little pizzas and met a wonderful gal named Yara. She made all the difference. Was very courteous friendful helpful and got our food out in no time at all. Took grandson their played a

I took my kids for a bit of food and fun. The food delivered on the adult menu but the kids cheese burger and fries was a dud. We played a few games and had a great time though. Games are up to date and facilities are keeper up nicely.

There aren't any good options for a person who is vegan. They should incorporate more options instead of just a salad. The service was ok. This seemed to be a smaller D&B. In comparison to the Mission Valley location, it seemed to be very small.

Went here and they lost my card. They couldn't tell me what happened if they lost it or someone stole it. My husband gave them his number and name and my name in case they had accidentally given it to someone else or if they found it. It's been about a month and they never called. I obviously blocked my card and got a new one. The bartender was all alone and we saw him picking up empty glasses left next to the games. So I don't blame him. The manager offered us free drinks to relax but how could I relax whe

As they're set up differently, this is for the location at Shoppes at Carlsbad. It's been a while since we went to Dave & Buster's but we had some buy one get one coupons for games. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The quality of games was a lot better, and we had a lot of fun competing against each other. They even have a sit down VR section. I really liked it. We did the Terminator scenario...and yes the graphics weren't the greatest...but it was action packed and you felt like you were in the

We came at a perfect time. The bar was pretty empty... So, service was great!!! Even sitting in the dining area the staff is attentive, courteous, and quick to bring additional condiments and drinks.

Best place ever to plan a lg gathering. Our group of 25 had our own nicely decorated room. The food choices were perfect. The kids loved playing the video games. The price was right. It was a perfect day!

I went on a Wednesday night for half off on games and their late night happy hour. It was surprisingly a lot of kids despite it being like almost 10pm, but we had eaten before playing and by the time we finished all the kids were gone. It was a bit confusing as my boyfriend had asked how do we get seated and they said we could just sit anywhere. We sat next to the bar in a booth and it took around 15 mins to get service. Our server was really nice though! We got the queso fries ($5) and lemon pepper wings.

I gotta give this place a 5 stars. Fiancee and I have been to this place for a few times now. It has exceeded all my expectations! We love the food (and its portion) and the alcoholic drinks there. We have ordered different burgers, pastas, nachos, etc, and they are all so good!! The alcoholic drinks are mixed so well too :) The arcade machine variety is great and we find it entertaining and we haven't gotten bored yet at all! The prize center actually does rotate prizes from time to time, which is fantasti

Never been here before but heard a lot of good things about it. My kids wanted to go and play arcade games but my wife and I wanted a more sit down meal to our surprise we were able to get both our food was amazing the service was great the kids had fun I would come back here again in a heartbeat. We all shared the pretzel as the appetizer, the beer cheese was outstanding!

This place is smaller than the one in Mission Valley, but we feel safer here. Haven't tried the food yet, so I can't say if it's good or not. Check out the D&B app if you like to come here often. They offer rewards and free food depending on the level you played. We got a pickle Rick!

First time for me at this place, visiting from Arizona. Watch the World cup on the tvs.. (lots of tvs)..Really good place for the whole family. Food is good , service is Great, Employees are friendly. A must stop place if u are in the area. Will come back!!!

It was such a fun experience! I love arcade games, and this place didn't disappoint. It's safe, clean, and well-maintained. The staff were attentive and engaging. Highly recommend!

Title: Fun Experience for Kids, But Could Use Some Cooling I recently visited Dave & Buster's with my kids, and overall, it was a blast! The variety of games and activities kept them entertained for hours. The atmosphere was lively, and the staff was friendly and helpful. However, the only downside was the lack of adequate air conditioning. With so many people in the venue, it got quite hot inside, which made it a bit uncomfortable. Despite that, it was still a great place to spend quality time with the fa

Angel was our server, really nice guy! Answered every question we had with a smile and great attitude. Will surely be back.

It's so nice to be back to somewhat normal! Celebrated my sons graduation, the staff were extremely friendly. We had a blast Celebrateing.. they did an uograde on the food! I wish I took pictures. The food is wayyyyy better. More options. The flat bread pizza was amazing and so was the HUGH pretzels . That was a "huge" hit! Thank you Dave and Busters!! Loved being back :) P.S. please don't ever get rid of the hungry hungry hippo game.. I laughed so hard watching these grown kids play.. lol..

Mission valley location is closest to the area but decided to try out the Carlsbad location for change of scenery. Different layout but same aspect as you walk past the eating area before getting to the games. Clean establishment, the food got delivered fairly quickly, games are all good in working order and the staff is friendly.

I used to come here a lot before COVID with the kids and always had a blast. Now fast forward to now and the place is ran by new management and employees and you can totally tell. The entrance was really nice with greeting and helping us purchase cards, but our waitress forgot to bring my water multiple times. The food menu has drastically changed and it just doesn't feel like it's worth the extra bucks. I hope they bring back a lot of the old menu items, and they allow this place to lower the cost to playi

Fun times. Great selection of games. Just wish the world was more economical. So over priced. The "credits" just disappear from your card so fast.

Our waiter Chris was awesome! Amazing service!

Haven't been to D&B in so long, but I am glad we gave it a go! The games, food, drinks, and great service is definitely bringing us back!

This place is a lot of fun. Good atmosphere, large play area. Good food and drinks. We frequent here often. Only thing I wish they would do differently would be to allow adults to use tickets earned in games on beer, food or something more fun. If they would add an adult ticket prize section that would be epic as we often do date nights here and win tickets but you can't use them because it's all kids stuff basically or junk that you wouldn't put in your house. Don't get me wrong, for kids this is a good pr

Dave & Buster?s is the ultimate destination for fun, combining an arcade, restaurant, and sports bar into a single electric atmosphere. My visit was nothing short of unforgettable, a one-of-a-kind experience I'd struggle to replicate anywhere else. From the moment I walked in, I was hit with a rush of energy?bright lights, pulsing music, and the laughter of people reliving their inner child. It's like stepping into a playground designed for grown-ups, and I was all in. The games were the main draw, and the

Food was really good. Obviously gonna be a little pricey for alcohol but worth it when you're having fun!

If I could give 0 stars I would let me start off with we were here for the fights, no one said it was in a separate area with the curtains up because it's only playing in that section and not on all tvs so we wasted our money and time for nothing. Margaritas were only good when it's a double shot, single shot taste all like water. Horrible service. Had to continue to go to the bar to order my drinks and food then return to pick them up when ready because server(s) were nowhere around. But of course to the p

2 thumbs up. 5 stars. 10/10 would do again. Food was delicious. Drinks were good and strong. Games were stupid fun. And for a fair price (in the adult world). This?ll definitely be a stop on future trips

It's a fun place to play especially for the kids but regardless what night we come service is painfully slow. Had to find someone after sitting in our booth for 15 minutes just to even be acknowledged. Other than that food wasn't too bad and like I mentioned previously it is a fun place to be

Absolutely love this location because its not crowded except weekends. Games here are mostly updated. Not a huge fan of their food selection but the drinks are awesome. Caribbean drink is my Go to each time I come to Dave and Busters. The bartenders are very kind considering how busy they get. I noticed how nice they are to large group of customers.

Did not dine, but the game selection compared to other locations was not up to par. Place was spacious!

Went there for my step daughter's birthday and we had a good time. She loved all the video games.

The drinks are yummy. Loved playing all the games. Made me feel like a kid again. Best first date location if you ask me.

Always a fun time, always have to ride the Unicorn in the motorcycle riding game, and we beat the Halo 4 person shooter together! ??

We recently celebrated my son's 4th bday at Dave and Busters, Myself my 7 year old daughter and my girl and her daughter had a great night. We had dinner and played games, the food was good and service was on point there were a few hick up's with the ordering only cuz the system the were using was new but nothing major it all worked out. We will definitely be doing it again soon.

Great location, excellent service, quality variety of food, clean, and nice vibe!

Best set of servers and crew, food is delicious, and atmosphere is always fun and welcoming! Dave and Buster's gets 5 big booms ??????????

This was my second time to D & B?s and I really enjoyed my Philly cheesesteak, it's have fried onions, green peppers and a cheese sauce just like they make them in Philly. The server was good but she was a little slow because I think they were understaffed so she had a lot of tables. The only complaint I have was the runner who delivered the food to the table, he had absolutely no personality, didn't acknowledge us and tried to put someone else?s food on our table without even asking if it was ours. The gu

Came here late night on a weekday for a couple of beers. We were pretty easy going so everything went pretty smooth. Service was pretty slow but we weren't in a rush so it was a nice 11pm hang out. Finished the night off with some games and overall it was fine. The entrance is inside the mall even though the mall looks closed.

Decent place not great, lots of games any real gamer has ever never heard of. It's like when they buy cheap games. No street fighter, MK or NBA jams. But a halo game that's not part of any halo series. But super clean.

They make it confusing with tokens hiding the dollar amounts and the VR plays that I bought don't apply to all the VR games. They were unwilling or unable to convert the VR credits to regular tokens. You can spend over a hundred dollars learning the ways they are able to separate you from your money.

You are one of two of the only companies in ALL OF THE NORTH AMERICAN CONTINENT!!! That can buy a DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION A20 Cabinet. WHY DO YOU NOT HAVE ONE!?!??! WHY!? GUVE ME ONE GOOD REASON OTHER THAN YOU DONT WANT TO PAY FOR IT!! I HATE GOING TO NATIONAL CITY OR TEMECULA!!

We like to save our tickets and get really cool prizes. The girls loved the unicorn and owl pillows. They are super soft. I usually enjoy the food and drinks while Im there.

Not Bad Sercice is good.. Bartenders are astute, but a family environment. Not like Philadelphia, where there are areas for adults(pool tables, shuffle board, etc)

A fun place but overpriced and they messed up our food order multiple times. The food is also just okay. Games are expensive. It's also INSANELY LOUD INSIDE.

We were given someone else's bill and the waitress walked off with our card to charge $300. It was a cluster.

Kids and I have o er 100k in tickets and the prizes are lamer than ever! We have been looking for a game console, for years.

Burger was great. Fries were old and cold, wings came out cold but once those were remade they were amazing. Celery was rubbery and salad could have used some carrots, cucumber or even some croutons. Wished it was more of an adult atmosphere instead of there being so many children everywhere. But it was a fun night in the end.

Had a great time with my friends and family! Definitely would recommend for a big party ????

Super fun and great prices i have fun everytime i take my kid

My family and I always come often and have a great time! The staff is always super friendly and welcoming, the facility remains clean, and drinks never disappoint. The manager Dave is great and we appreciate his commitment to providing excellent service. We will continue to visit Dave n busters with the family!

Love this place, in town for work, decided to stop by for dinner and grub. I ended up playing games after watching the lakers game

it's a fun place for what it is. my kids l love it. I haven't tried the food. I don't like the layout of game choices as much as other locations

This used to bw my go to place when I was yunger. The games are not as fun as they used to be and is more of a place to watch the game. I wish they would update thier games.

It's exactly what you expect. A massive arcade. Warehouse-like and full of a variety of amusing games. Great for the family. Games for kids to adults. Pricey but can be worth it if you take advantage of the packages offered.

It's Dave and Busters. Great atmosphere and a perfect place to host a party or hangout with friends. Did not eat here but as far as the arcade goes it was a great time.

The food wasn't bad. It just wasn't anything special. Would have been better if they made my order correct. Service was good. The bathrooms should be cleaned more often.

Wings games and so much fun what more do I want as an adult? Great place to bring the kids so much room and so many games! Service is amazing atmosphere is just fun it's great to be a KIDAULT!

You definitely have to be okay with a loud but fun atmosphere to visit. If you have kids, it's definitely a must visit. There are games for everyone. Even us grown-ups can get in on the fun. The prizes are by far better than other arcade chains. They frequently have promotions for gaming as well as on the food and drinks. There is also a bar and sports playing on the tvs to entertain yourself while the kiddos play.

Awesome service !! I went there for my anniversary and the atmosphere and customer service was outstanding! My favorite D & B to go to(:

Didn't order food this time as every time before it's been pretty terrible and overpriced.... Did end up trying some of my friends pizza and it was not bad but didn't see the price. Definitely won't be going on a Saturday again as it was quite a lot for me lol

Celebrated a birthday here, and was actually surprised that the food was good. We had the pretzel bread sticks, pretzel dogs, wings, salad, and salad as a wrap. Good service. Food took a little longer than the "12 minutes" we were told. The espresso martini was great! The blackberry lemonade was sweet with a tart finish. Once we got up to play games, we decided it was really hot in there. They should have kept the heat off since many of the games required whole body movement. They have all the classics and

Me and my husband went there over the weekend, we were overcharged for drinks , not cool, we were looking at the menu for $7 drinks and the bartender failed to tell us there were 4 versions of the drink and he charged us the most expensive one. At first I brushed it off and even tipped the bartender nicely, but when I thought more about it ,this was messed up. I won't be back.

Great games and the food is excellent as well. My kids enjoyed it and we'd absolutely go again. The staff was very helpful in answering questions about different games and I was greeted by a server promptly when we sat to eat.

Fun fun fun. And food and drinks. Lots of games, and some of the best nerd watching in all of North County! Speaking as a card carrying member of the need club, this is the place to hang out. Would be 5 stars on the food if they had a bit more flavor, or heat on the wings.

Food was good. Staff is friendly and helpful. A lot of games to play. Good place to distract yourself.

Lots of new and cool games , the food was excellent

Solid Dave and busters. Shares mall parking so can be difficult to find close parking when it's busy. Nice layout and very clean well maintained location.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
