Dave & Buster's Boise

Reviews Summary

Most reviews praise Dave & Buster's for its fun arcade games, lively atmosphere, and generally good service, with many highlighting family-friendly experiences and enjoyable food. However, some criticize inconsistent food quality, cold meals, and high prices. A few mention rude staff or automatic gratuity issues. While the majority rate it highly (4-5 stars), lower ratings focus on poor service, portion sizes, and hidden fees. The arcade is widely appreciated, though some note smaller spaces or broken games. Overall, it’s seen as a great spot for groups and celebrations, but with room for improvement in consistency and value.

I liked the waitress, atmosphere and games. I don't like how they include your game cards in your total on check, making you tip 20% on game cards. Makes no sense, tip should be off service only and not game play cards. Smash burger isn't really a smash burger at all. Regular patty not smashed or seared, & that falls apart. Will come again in future just not going to be a local spot for me.

Service was beyond excellent! Steak and mashed potatoes were great! Chicken Parmesan over creamed pasta was delicious! Cheeseburger n fries was outstanding! Oh?and playtime was memorable. This was a wonderful visit and we'll be back again and again and again!

Clean place and the American smash burger was soooo yummy??. Our waiters name was Sean and he had great service. He dealt with our 20+ group very well. Place was clean and good.

I've been watching the Ufc fights here since 2016. Always loved the food and drinks. They have been adding games as of late which is pretty dope. Especially the new ufc game ! My favorite thing about Dave & Busters is that you can use your tickets on deserts and on entrees.

Decent dining experience considering it's a Chuck E Cheese style place that is adult friendly. The noise for me was difficult, as I showed up only for the food. The waitress parted as she was taking us to our table, as we followed her, we got to enjoy her scent ?? as far as the gaming experience, I didn't play anything, but I touched one of the game handles, and it was sticky and felt like it hadn't been washed off ever. Had to wash my hands after. I'm not the type to be grossed out by that kind of stuff no

We stopped in here on Mother's Day for a bite to eat. Had a great experience for our first time. The waiter was super helpful in him. You're helping us choose what package to get and how to go about, picking the right game with our food.

Our favorite spot to stop for lunch when we are in the Boise area. The food is always delicious and on point. The atmosphere is amazing. The games are so much fun. Makes me feel like a kid again. Staff is super friendly. We like bringing our relatives from out of town and they also love it. Overall, Dave and Busters will always be a favorite. Updating my original review due to unfortunate events that happened with the manager. About two weeks ago, our family from out of state came to visit so we brought th

Clean up. I have worked in food service and other things and part of good place is keeping it clean. It only takes 5 minutes. The food was good i was told. I'm doing a update . My family that we visited wanted to bring us back. I glad i did it was better. Very clean the people we had as a waitress was wonderful. The food was very good. The steak was very good. Nice cook and very good aged . Also we won some stuff. Our waitress was wonderful all the time. If you didn't have a good experience one time try

These guys have a great selection of different games. I enjoyed the VR games, basketball, and even platforming games. The only downside and it's typical for places like this (all of them) is that the ticket rewards aren't very appealing or attainable. For example, I did the math to get the ps5 reward (160k tickets) it would cost me 10,400 dollars to receive that. Granted, maybe I could be better at the games, and you have to consider you're having fun during the earning process, but it still doesn't seem ac

For my small party a gratuity charge comes to you in the form of extra server charge. They also added in the 10 game cards that I've purchased as part of their gratuity as well. Service and food is mediocre. If I had been made aware that the extra server charge was gratuity I would not have given them a cash tip as well. Also gratuity should always be based on the quality of service not automatically charged because you think you deserve it

Had a great time celebrating a 13th birthday here. We made a reservation and arrived early. We were still seated immediately. Food was top notch and the kids loved the flashing ice cubes in there drinks. Only bad experience was with my drink after pulling the cherry from the bottom up to find a hair on it. Really no big deal being alcohol and all. Took it to the bartender and it was replaced with one of the best old fashion's I've ever had. The card deals for games would be way better if you could buy the l

Enjoyed an afternoon post New Year's as a family. Good service & fun games!

The bar staff was on point. I had a teenager break my beer glass playing a basketball game. They replaced my beer and quickly had 2 employees clean up the broken glass. We will be comming back forsure.

We had a family birthday party there today. The food and drinks were very good as was the sevice..the kids had a blast ..it very clean and appears very popular. The place was very busy

This is a family place where kids and adults can play games. I went there for their early New Years party. The waitress Gabby did such a good job with all the kids and gave such exceptional service. It was such a good buffet, especially for little kids. Dinner was in one of the party rooms. The room was decorated in a New Years Eve theme with hats and streamers. I recommend this for families with small children.

Dave & Buster?s is always a good time and is an easy 4?? rating. The Atmosphere is Sports Bar & Grill meets Arcade and I am all about it (4??). Our service was excellent they payed attention to our table even though they were really starting to get busy and at the time there was only one server on our side of the restaurant. Additionally they customized our orders with no questions and prepared everything as asked (5??). The food was priced as you would expect at a Bar & Grill the Arcade portion of the exp

Took my kids to eat and play. The play was fun but our server Melissa was concerning... She never offered a single refill , although our cups were all bone dry prior to arrival of our food. We had time to eat our entire meal, without refills and still waited an additional ten more minutes before she stopped to check on us. By then we were completely finished, and ready for our check as we had anxious kiddos wanting to play. We then had to wait ANOTHER 10 minutes to get the check and boxes but failed to rece

Service was very good. There looks to be an amazing selection of food. Steak was well done when we asked for medium rare. Games were fun. The vr machine crashed twice but the guy kept letting us try till it made it all the way through. Also their camera for the group shots is messed up. On of the people in our group had white all over their face.

Playful staff, good drinks and food. "Gabby Jokes" is their best server. Today I had the strawberry watermelon margarita! (as a double) The glasses are short and wide so they are bigger than they look in pictures The half salted lip is flavored like salty Jell-O, it's pretty good. I also had a delicious Mushroom Stout Burger ???? ???? . While I waited, I enjoyed one of their flat BBQ chicken bread appetizers. After the meal we had a blast with the kids at the arcade.

We had a party of 6 and no one liked the food ! The ribs were horrible being served cold, sauce and everything. They returned the ribs after they microwaved them and of course they were dry and chewy. They charged an automatic gratuity for the whole meal after we returned the ribs . So for one beer the total charge was $15.58

The food was way overpriced for the quality, and our server kept screwing up our order and then put a 20% automatic gratuity on our bill for each check .My opinion he didn't even deserve an 18% gratuity. If you want good food and good service don't go there.

Sara, Rianne, and Emma were so great at the booth on the park and told us all about the great deals. We're very excited about their season pass coming soon!

The games are fun but half of them were out of service and some times it would take tickets, but wouldn't start the game :( We enjoyed how easy it was to have a card instead of tokens and the store area to redeem is very cute and modern.

This was so much fun! I haven't been to one in years and was so happy we stopped in! The food was so good, my favorite probably being a toss up between the barbacoa fries and the papi chulo queso! The smores cheesecake was amazing! Our server was very nice and attentive. The options for the game cards were great, a really good value compared to some. Me, my husband, and our child played for hours on one card. Highly recommend!

Service was excellent. Alex was our server. Food was weird. I say weird because everything was cold. To the queso as an appetizer to the bacon on my burger. The fries, everything was cold. Burger was cooked just as I wanted it but it came cold. Nothing hot or warm about the meal. Queso had a fantastic taste it was just cold. And when I asked for a side of Mayonnaise I was delivered (by tossing) 2 packets of mayonnaise. And as you can see even used glasses were pilling up on our table.

This place never disappoints! Great food, fun delicious drinks, and awesome staff. Bailey is the best server on earth! She took care of us like we were her family. Do yourself a favor and order the avacado toast appetizer! It's absolutely delicious! The games are a blast for all ages! From our 6 year old to our teenagers and adults, there is something for everyone. The ticket redemption is always exciting because the prizes are actually quality items and there is so much to choose from! We highly recommend

We've come to this D&Bs numerous times, but recently they removed the Injustice game that I always play! Ryan was very informative and even told us the sad tale of why that was AND even let us know where they still have it! Also came to our rescue when we kept overstuffing the zombie hand game. XD Thank you for your patience with us!

Our party ordered a growler drink that was half full. They refused to remake it. Food was cold when it arrived. They force you tip, there is no "no tip option" so you're just forced to experience poor service there with no repercussions.

Took the wife and 3 kids all teens or pre teens food was amazing and had plenty of options for everyone. We bought the 100$+10 charge card and it was more than enough for the whole family to play for over 2 hours we played all the games. It was a great time. Thanks Dave and Buster's for an amazing time with the family.

The food was good, got the wings in honey chipotle flavor and good portion for the price, got about ten wings. The games are quite expensive with a confusing dollar to point conversion.

Very fun games for all ages with excellent ticket payouts. All the games are modern, bright, colorful and there are plenty of recognizable games; there will be something for everyone! The prize store has tons of unique and cool toys. There's also a restaurant if you get hungry from all the gaming. Be prepared to spend a fair amount for the full experience.

We had a large group on a Monday night with 6 kids under age 13 to celebrate my sister in law's college graduation. It was a good spot for people travelling from different directions. My mother in law had her service dog with her and had to be careful and face away from all the flashing games to prevent her seizure like migraines and thankfully had no issues. The variety of food seemed to be pretty good although some seemed overcooked and one person in our party barely touched (& left behind) her giant frie

Went to dinner there last night. This was our first time, we ordered drinks and dinner, our dinner came and we had to ask for our drinks again. Than a little bit later, I was asked if I wanted a to go box, and I ordered another drink. But the bar tender was distracted and never made our drink until I slowly finished my dinner WITHOUT a drink, a margarita. And as we were getting ready to leave, oh yeah that margarita finally showed up. I did let the server know, when someone orders a drink with there dinner

I love watching football at this place. Not a lot of options for somebody on a keto diet, but they were VERY accommodating. The manager even came by several times to speak to me and make sure I was happy with my order. Excellent place to watch football for a single guy or bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun

Fun place to play some games, grab a bite of food or watch your favorite team play. Good fun atmosphere although there isn't anything to help break up the sound which is on the loud side. If you are ok with bit of noise and you want to try your luck on some great video games...then try this place out.

Sean was our waiter and he was so amazing. we had a group of about 30 high schoolers and he was so amazing and patient, and even got our food to us fast after the order system crashed. he should get a raise and get promoted!! thanks sean!

Great place for fun and games. We had fish, burger, Nachos they were great. Service and atomospher was excellent.

Fun place to bring kids. Food was actually really good. My salmon was spectacular. I was pleasantly surprised. I had to fight the urge not to order the giant Bacon Cheeseburger and Garlic Fries. They looked so so good

This place is amazing! It's for adults and you can feel like a kid again. Lol next place to take your date or just want to hang out with friends? This place is perfect for either one. They have games, beer and t.v to watch any game.

Fantastic place to go and have some fun i had such a good time with my family we ate first and then went to the arcade it was such a huge acarde and the ticket exchange center was huge to. My only complaint is that the waiter decided to put food diagonally on the table and that a risk of the food falling or my drink falling so glad it didn't do i wish they could have some other way placing a plate of food on the table.

Pretty reasonable for games. A single beer cost me $12.75 kinda crazy.

My husband and I stopped on our way home to Idaho Falls. We had a blast getting to play and spend more time together.

We came here for the games and drinks, drinks were awesome and the service was super friendly. When we went to buy game cards, the machine ate both the cards. The manager was there very quickly and went and took us to the front and got us our cards, she even threw on ten bucks because it was my birthday. It's not somewhere we go often but it's always fun when we do.

What's not to like when you can grab a beer and play some games. Got 1 drink at the bar, bar tender was fast and friendly. Most games worked and it wasn't too packed.

The atmosphere is great. Our kids are having a blast while we are watching Football on the giant big screens. Though the aromatherapy smell is a bit overwhelming, I will definitely be bring the whole family back again. By the way, they have all new awesome games like an Axe Throwing Game whaaaaaattttttt!

They want tips badly and you will automatically get charged extra without your approval. Will not be returning

The waitress was nice. But it took her a long long time to get back to us. She even said the kitchen wasn't that busy. But she must have been too busy for us. The garlic fries came out COLD. They were not good. They might have been good if they were hot. The chicken sandwich was decent. The drinks barely had any alcohol. They were sour, which means it was all mixers. Sorry, this place has gone way down hill. Not going back for food. I would not recommend eating here. Over priced for bad food and bad servic

Friendly staff, great food, gave info on packages at the front desk, and were descriptive about the choices. Great customer service and friendly attitudes. Clean presence, all but a couple of games were working. The ticket shop had a lot of cool things. The food was good. Highly recommend the cheese sticks ??. Prices for food are $12 and higher. Overall, we had a great time.

Great atmosphere to watch NFL games! Service and food was excellent! Linda was an exceptional server! She recommended foods and drinks to try being it was our first time here. Thank you for an awesome experience! We'll definitely be back!

The food is amazing! They have a great variety of food too. The games are also fun.

Julia took great care of me! She knew the menu really well and made perfect food suggestions. Hostess was SO helpful and nice also. She offered to get me an info pamphlet on hosting parties there, and brought it to my table. Great experience, and I don't say things just to be nice. -Clean (including the bathroom which is MUCH appreciated) -Updated (fresh games, furnishings, and menu items) -Staff is exceptionally well trained in policies and customer service -Food was on-point...great vegetarian options

This place was awesome!! I couldn't believe the variety of games & prizes they had. It was a blast!!

I absolutely love this place. My husband and I make it at least once a week. It's our "date night." Sometimes we bring the kids, and they love it too. I enjoy the games. Watching sport games on their big screens is always nice too. They have pretty awesome things to trade tickets for, Good drinks, the list goes on and on. Plus, I have experienced bad customer service maybe 2 times in the last 3 years, and the managers never have skipped a beat on making things right. They definitely get 5 stars from m

Love this Dave and Busters, food is amazing , employees are awesome. The managers always take care of the customers 110%. My platinum card was not working today and they made it right, thank you.

Food was good and the kids drinks were very unique. The kids had fun playing games. Fun night with the grandkids.

My family and I went on 8/10, to celebrate my birthday. There were some hiccups with food not being right and charges being made that should?ve have been rectified. The staff was very pleasant and the manager on shift was great. We were told that we were going to get a refund on some items that were charged and someone would give us a call back on that Monday. It is now Wednesday, we have not gotten a phone call nor an email after reaching out and leaving messages. This is very disappointing

The employees are friendly the food was great. The games are fun to play. Definitely going back soon

Took my daughter for her 11th bday and 2 in of the 4 ppl we excited were either very short or just plain rude to us. Good took forever and was subpar at best. We ordered a big daddy chocolate cake to go and this is what I we saw when we got home and opened it. Shame Shame Dave n busters

Fun, plenty to do and loads of food to choose from. Loud atmosphere and loud music! Fast paced place, and lots of games to pick from. Really like how they keep up with the repair on their games as well, everything is kept up and is a clean environment!

This was my first time at a dave and busters. The food was good and we had a blast playing the games. Definitely going to return.

Great place to eat and have a little fun. No question about it this place will shortly become a classic stop no matter who you are! I had the burger with ?? and aoli it was pretty good but the cheese ?? stack was where it's at with the apps, but that's just me. ??

The wait staff was great. The arcade was a lot of fun. We had a great time!!!

Had a family outing for spring break. Had dinner, and kids played games. Our server, Gabby, was great!

Dave and Buster is a arcade facility with a full bar and restaurant aimed towards adults but the while family is welcomed. The price point is a little on the high side, but thats due to the facility letting you take your beer to whatever games you decide to play. The food was alright, the price point for the food was high and quality wasn't the best. They have a good selection of arcade games and I seen about 4 games out of order. The ticket system is all on a card so no need to worry about carrying around

Went there for a date night with my wife. We shared an appetizer and a burger. It was about $37. Service was good, food was good. Games are pricey. I bought $67 worth of credits. Each game costs 7-8 credits to play. We were able to play for about an hour. Fun to do every once in a while, but too pricey to do regularly.

Our family had a great experience here. Nearly everyone we encountered was polite, professional, and personable. The games were fun, the coupon (ticketing) was generous. Atmosphere was on point and followed brand nicely. Food was consistent with previous experiences, good and plentiful. Shout out to tose who went above and beyond for us! Robbie, Felisha, Alyssa and Dakota - thanks for trying to track down that special request Dakota. Highly recommended.

Very fun time celebrating my son?s birthday, delicious food.

Great food abd great managers. They got my order wrong and it was pretty easy to exchange it for something else. The reason it's 4 stars is the no phones at trivia night is never enforced and that leads to people that searched the answers almost always winning the 50 USD certificate for games. Overall great on Wednesdays half off games RULE!

The food is okay and quite overpriced. The open bar is good but nothing that great comparative to other places in the area. It would be nice to get a few upgrades to the machines and not have so many broken down. We used to go here often on half off Wednesdays, but it gets old very quickly. The atmosphere is loud and even crazier on the weekends. I prefer other places in the area for entertainment, but it's good to check out for a first time or even to go a few times a year.

Friendly service. Good food. Yummy drinks. And then you have to finish it up with some Mario Cart races. Big or small, there's a lot of fun waiting for you.

This place is great for watching sports. You can just hang there all day while the rest of your party shops!

Much smaller inside than I would have thought from the outside! They have lots of classic type games, new games, games made from popular phone app games etc. Games of similar types are mostly next to each other which can be nice. Bathrooms were clean. Plenty of prizes of all ticket ranges. Definitely expensive to get game credits though!

We enjoyed this Dave and buster's. The arcade area is smaller than we are used to at other location.

Food... not screaming for me to return for their food. SERVICE.... WAITRESS WAS SPECTACULAR!!! She assisted with clarification on the food and portions enough for 2 children and 3 adults. Atmosphere... was good as it was not packed and the 2girls under 11yrs were able to play any game without much of a wait. Thanks

Okay get the app amd play GAMES FIRST then get food. YOU CAN BUY FOOD WITH TICKETS. So play games earn tickets then you can get your meal for free! Loved it. Also the more tokens you buy the cheaper it is per token.

We spent our son's 17th birthday at Dave & Buster's and had a great time. Different price packages make it easy to budget.

Food spirits fun. Watched the game kids had plenty to do with the arcade. Wings were awesome.

$17.99 for this plate. Taste was good but amounts were to small . 3 pieces of broccoli? C'mon . You be the judge

We had a variety of dishes on the menu, the lettuce wraps were pretty light and tasty! Wide range of cocktails to chose from, can get confusing! Good place to watch a game on TV and a large arcade gaming section for kids and adults young at heart (however, most of them weren't functioning when we were around). Nothing much to call out on the service.

Dave & Buster?s is a fun and lively spot that combines food, drinks, and a massive arcade, making it a great place for friends, families, or even date nights. The range of games is impressive, from classic arcade machines to modern VR setups, so there's always something to keep you entertained. Whether you're into racing games, basketball hoops, or nostalgic favorites like Skee-Ball, Dave & Buster?s has it all, and the atmosphere is energetic and engaging. However, the experience comes with a price. While

I went here to have a great night with my best friend after not seeing her for 10 yrs. The night started well with dinner but once we went to go play and wanted drinks it went downhill. Logan the bartender intentionally ignored us. We waited 25 mins and even moved to the other side of the bar cause we thought "maybe we're doing something wrong and need to be where every9ne else is getting served" we did and then even asked him and he said " no no your fine" then after about 35 mins he left. 0 drinks no eye

This place is amazing! I'm unstoppable at the minions card machine. I won 6000+ tickets in about 20min. If I actually lived in Idaho I would put this place out of buissness.

Long post. This place deserves no stars. The burgers had no flavor and were almost raw. The lettuce was old and somewhat brown. The fries were soaked and soggy because of the truffle sauce stuff. I gave two stars because the water was cold. Watch out when they bring your check. They charge you a DOLLAR for extra sauce. They do not warn you beforehand or give you the option to say no. We had a large group so they took advantage. Good thing we checked before we actually paid. ?It's our policy to charge ex

Worst service I have received from a bartender in a long time. Kk was the bar tender. My friend and I went after work to have a couple drinks. First of all the she is not very pleasant. She would hardly acknowledge us. Made it like a chore if we asked her for anything. She was on her phone. She didn't offer us a menu so my friend had to walk to the front counter to get one. We had to ask for silverware after having our food for a few minutes because she wouldn't acknowledge us. We waited a while to get a se

Same as all the others, but this had a very attentive staff. I liked like the fact they remembered me and treated me like an old friend

Wish I could remember our servers name! We were there July 3 2024 she was the AWESOME little blonde. She was PHENOMENAL. Made sure all our questions were answered, our drinks never went empty and the food was awesome. The games were also great! We will be back in November hopefully for my brlirthday!

After giving this place a try multiple times I'm always less than impressed. The food quality is average and the prices are steep. I can think of many other places to go for a fun game filled evening.

good food, good drinks, and good games. They have it all. This is the place to be

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025!
