Dave & Buster's Barboursville

Dave & Buster's Barboursville

Reviews Summary

Most reviews praise the fun atmosphere, clean environment, and variety of games, though many note they're expensive. Service receives mixed feedback—some highlight excellent, friendly staff, while others report slow, disorganized service. Food quality is divisive: some enjoy it (especially sliders, burgers, and fries), but others find it overpriced or poorly prepared. Negative experiences often cite long waits, incorrect orders, or unprofessional staff. The arcade is consistently enjoyed, though some feel prize areas are cramped. High ratings dominate, but service and pricing frustrations lead to lower scores.

Customer Reviews

We drive here from Charleston at least once a month to have some fun family time and dinner. Our family loves the dine and play option and the cantina chicken nachos are AMAZING! We always ask for one of the few booths they have available and they have always been so accommodating of that. Service has always been friendly and quick. They also have a pretty decent selection of arcade games.

My son?s birthday choice was to go to this restaurant so I thought I'd give it a try. I wasn't disappointed despite it being a Friday evening our food was brought out quick fast and in a hurry, I recommend the sliders, those are really great. the service was great the food was excellent and everyone in our group was very happy with it all. The game room was entertaining and fun with new games and older one?s I remember from back in the day.

?????????? My husband and I came to Dave & Buster?s in Barboursville craving some good, crappy, cafeteria-style pizza and video games?this place delivered! We were seated immediately, and our server was incredibly sweet. Our food came out fast, and everything hit the spot. My husband is a fried pickle purist, and he loved their fried pickles (chips, not spears?an important distinction to him, lol). The pretzel dogs were tasty, and the pizza absolutely satisfied our craving. For two sodas and three entr?es

First time going to a Dave & Buster's and gotta say the experience was phenomenal. Mel the bartender was over the top with customer service. I got more than all the information I needed on how to be a top player and get started. The bar and wait service was excellent. Loved the game choices and food. I didn't feel cheated like other barcades. All of the staff was friendly, in fact. Recommend a night when Mel is working and the Barbicoa fries! Will definitely be checking out other Dave & Buster's moving forw

We got here at 6:08, drink orders were quick. But from there all down hill. Our server seemed to be doing her best, but it took1 hour and 30 minutes to get our food, maybe 2 check backs. My daughter didn't get her order until 8:20 PM, I got my 2nd order of wings after that from my all you can eat order. Like, literally THE SLOWEST food service ever. The games are good but expensive, which I understand. But if you're gonna advertise as a great place to eat with an extensive menu, then SERVE THE FOOD AT A DEC

We came here on a Sunday. We had so much fun. We did have to stand and wait in lines for games. Some We just had to skip all together. I'd like to see more space here if possible. I'd suggest getting the rock em socke em game ( which is my favorite). I don't know where you would put it. One entrance is a suggestion also. Overall, I'm thrilled the franchise made it to our state. We will be going back plenty I'm sure.

We've been to this location 4 times since it opened! (My 14 year old son was the first in line on opening day! He was a little disappointed that he didn't receive anything special for being first, like other stores have given out at their grand openings, but the all day free play was great.) We've eaten twice at the restaurant. Both times, we've received quick and attentive service. And, when we had a problem with using an offer from my app, management was quick to correct the error. The food was well-pres

We had asked our waitress to bring our little girl a dessert out for her birthday after she ate her dinner. The server brought it out before her food and literally just dropped in front of her and walked away. Our little girl look so confused. The most unprofessional and unorganized staff ever. Completely unprofessional!!! When I confronted the waitress she said she had left a message for the staff. Then she said they mess up all the time. I would never recommend this place! Our food order was wrong on top

We went on March 19, 2025. Everything is so expensive here. The food is good. The server forgot one of our entr?e and when we asked her about it she said we never ordered it. We ALWAYS order our children's food first. Not to mention after we ordered the entr?e I said to the waitress "I also want that same thing except, I want cajun shrimp". Other then that the games are fun but expensive. It feels like a overpriced Chuck e Cheese.

We had the All American Smashed burger and Take it Cheesy sampler board. The burger was well made, crisp toppings, and great fries. The flatbread was cooked to perfection, and mozzarella sticks were crispy and cheesy

On 3/23, Our son turned 12 and wanted Dave & Busters for his birthday (last minute of course). We had only been there once, a few weeks before, and he couldn't wait to go back. The food was delicious and the fun never ended. The staff exceeded our expectations. We were so impressed by how helpful they were and how they went above and beyond to make us feel so special (Thank you Jordan). The night could not have been better. Special thanks to Jordan, Kayleigh and the man that helped us with the games (I'm

Three trips to this location and the service and food are consistently sub-par. This is clearly a management issue. Last trip our server was trying her hardest to keep up but the food runners and bar were hampering her. We even had someone who (I guess?) was in management touch the table and the service STILL didn't improve. 100% not on the server- she was attentive and clearly trying. Here's my thing- I knew I was signing up for $120 worth of heat and eat chicken nuggets and pizza, plus what I dropped on

Purchased a ribeye and it was very bland, even the garlic butter they put on top held little flavor. The others with me enjoyed their food. Our server disappeared a lot and was hardly seen. She was friendly but when I needed something I had to wait five or more minutes and it wasn't even busy.

We booked my son?s 11th birthday party here. The food was ok, but wasn't enough to feed what I was quoted for the party. I ended up spending $60 more for food when I specifically asked if that was included for the number of people I booked the party for. They only gave us about 5 minutes to set up for the party, as the waitress said she had to get her manager. When it was time to pay at the end, I was unpleasantly surprised that it was much more than what they quoted me, even though I only added a $60 platt

What an amazing addition to our community! The chips and cheese are amazing. The service is fantastci and the games are so much fun! I always recommend coming on Wednesday when games are half priced.

Attended my 2 nieces birthday party, they turned 10, double digits. Saturday afternoon on a Thanksgiving weekend, yes they were extremely busy as expected. Our party hostess never showed any signs of being busy, she always had a smile on her face. The food was buffet style and was amazingly hot and satisfying. Party room was easily accessible and we had plenty of room for the invited guests.

I spent $60 on game cards for my kids to play, then sat down at an empty table and started watching the UFC fight. Fifteen minutes later I was told by an employee that I had to move because the tables were for people ordering food only. All the tables in the games section were full and you can't watch TV from there anyway. I was refused a refund for my game cards. They are rude and unprofessional and I won't go back. Too bad zero stars isn't an option.

Already to a bad start. I went in to the restaurant and they would not allow me to bring my own drink into the restaurant so I had to throw it away. Next I ordered the barbacoa fries and there is no meat on my fries and the lemonades aren't free refill. Restaurant is a no go for me and makes me overstimulated with so many TVs and music.

It was great because been able to eat then play games at the same place. The wings were amazing. Always friendly staff every time we go.

I was really disappointed. So first off we went on Saturday and I had checked the website before we went for prices. We were told 10 mins to be sat. Turned into 30. Once sat, I asked about the eat and play deal. She brought the menu but then came back and said well apparently this deal isn't on Saturday but the paper says all day every day. Idk if she was lying or if this is the case the paper needs changed. The drinks came quickly, salad came out but then weirdly our appetizer came at the same time as ou

Great arcade room though prices are high. Reason for the poor review? The service is terrible in the restaurant portion. Consistently some of the worse service I've ever encountered. I've waited several visits prior to making this review and experienced the same poor service at each visit. Other reviews reflect this same experience, but obviously, nothing is being done to fix it. I've visited on busy days and days where we were one of the few tables seated and service still sucked. Food isn't great either,

The atmosphere is nice but the pizza I ordered tasted like a freezer. It took forever to be seated and to get my food. The food is nothing special, so I am not happy paying so much for something that seemed to use low grade ingredients.

I only came in for the arcade and can not review the food or dining service. I had a really good time inside, and my thoughts are as follows. The games are fun to play, but they are very expensive. There is a big variety of themed games that should entertain most visitors. Some games are a bit complicated to try out, which can throw off some patrons. Play times were also very short, considering what I had to pay. It is very loud in there. When you first leave and go back into the mall, your hearing w

This is the Ultimate gaming stop ALL-TIME...THIS IS FOR THE YOUNG&OLD ....especially great for Birthday Parties and all celebrations...i ordered the Protein bowl...it was good...the burgers are slamming good....so if yall get a chance please stop in ...i promise u won't be disappointed

Good selection of games but don't play for tickets after a few visits and dropping nearly $200 dollers all we racked up was 2,336 tickets and all It got us was a shadow box poster worth $13 retail and a tiny plush toy my advice just play a few games don't play for tickets unless you want ripped off.

We had a great time only reason for 1 star is we had a lost wallet and tried calling the restaurant but the local number sends you to a third party answering service and the response was they would email the manager and he would get back to us later that night.

As really excited that it opened. However my disappointment was great. I lived in San Diego and was used to great service, this is not it. Not enough help for servers from management. If your waitstaff gets a big table 20+ they don't get assistance from anyone. Your practically ignored since it's just 1 person for the big party and the other 2 tables assigned. Management is lacking. Food runner also had no help. Will not be dining again. Food is small portions for price. Would be worth it's price with

We had an informal birthday gathering for our son. Despite not really having a solid plan, we were handled with special care. We were seated quickly and assigned two fabulous servers. SPEEDY handled all the kids and let me just say?he was amazing! He worked well under stress and we didn't have to worry about a thing. Sasha handled our adult guests with great care and excellence. The entire experience was awesome and I just want to thank our servers for a wonderful experience. We will definitely be bac

So far the table service has been sub-par. We've been here two times with a group and two times with just our family of three and have had difficulty getting prompt service. Every visit we've had to flag down staff to take our order, get drink refills, and to finally pay. I'm not saying this happened once over our four visits, I'm saying it happened each of our four visits. The value for the price of food just isn't worth it either.

The food takes a really long time took 35 minutes for our flatbreads and 45 minuyes for one plate of winfs . The waitress we had was rude and kept making strange faces at me . She made a grossed out face when I told her that me and my kids were vegetarian so I didn't want pepperoni. She dropped our napkins in the floor and never gave us new ones. She acted very aggravated that I wanted to use the eat and play combo . The games are nice and fun and the prizes seemed to be good. But idk if I'd eat there again

Went on a monday night with some friends and had a great time. It was our first time going to a dave & busters. The food was a little more pricey than I thought but the wings and cokctails were really good. It wasn't very crowded and there was a big variety of games. We didn't have to wait long for service at all and our waitress was very attentive. I think there were some slight miscommunications between the servers and the kitchen but everything came out correct and in good time. 10/10 would recommend

Staff aren't very friendly. Was initially lied to by the hostess on available dining room seating. Then once seated, we ordered a kid's meal for our kids. Was told the drink, that the menu says are included, was not included and we needed to purchase adult drinks for both kids. When I refused and asked for a manager, the waitress treated us like we weren't welcome the rest of the time we were there. I am sure we will go back for the games, just not sure we will eat there again. Food is good but over

Went to this establishment for the first time tonight with my family. I was excited to try the food because I heard it was good. That was not my experience. I ordered a salad and the fried chicken sandwich. The salad had bad pieces of lettuce and the chicken on the sandwich served to me was halfway raw. I asked to have my sandwich replaced. The manager was nice and replaced it as well as took it off the bill. I take the new sandwich they prepared for the second time home to eat after the kids went to bed. T

I came here with my partner on opening day to check out the Pump it Up Phoenix dance game. As a serious dance game player who would spend a lot of time and money at this location, I have a few suggestions to make that would make the experience much better: 1. The volume on the Machine is too low and I can barely hear the songs, so please increase it. 2. The machine is offline. Pump it Up has a lot of content that is only accessible if the machine is online. Also, when the game is brought online, please ma

It's definitely a lot smaller than some of the other Dave & Buster's have been to, but for what it is, it's amazing and is definitely better than having to drive to a big city to find one.

Brought my niece and nephew there today. We had dinner and added the server added our $45 game card to the bill. When time to pay the bill she had an electronic payment device and did not bring me a receipt. Said the bill is $118 and asked if I wanted to pay cash or card, I chose card. Seemed high at the time, but the kids were going crazy to go play and it was kind of a hectic situation, so I just payed it and left a $25 tip on top in cash. When I got home I kept thinking how high it was, so I looked onlin

Came for my brother-in-laws birthday, left due to an anxiety attack. The restaurant is WAY too loud, (Approximately 85-90 decibels per the tester on my phone, loud enough to literally require hearing protection under federal law), all of the screens constantly flashing everywhere are a sensory nightmare on their own, the entire restaurant is dim, and they have so many tables crammed together it's impossible to maintain personal space. I couldn't hear our waitress over the noise. I wound up putting on ear bu

Brought my dad and sister whom are veterans for veterans day, Was seated for 15 or 20 minutes and no server ever acknowledged us but went to multiple tables right beside us that arrived 10 minutes after, never got a drink or order taken, moved to the bar to order but left after 25 or so minutes due to veteran father upset and went to ruby tuesdays where i was seated and had my food within 10 minutes. Need to hire some people, AN ABSOLUTE EMBARRASSMENT THAT I RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE TO MY DAD FOR VETERANS

the place is just like every acades modern dream, lights, flashes, sounds and pretty much everything you want from d&b. the food don't get me wrong was pretty delicious but some of the prices can really leave a hole in your wallet, if your going for a good dining experience id recommend going for some of the deals they have. Like endless wings.

Kailey provided excellent service at the counter. I ordered the Nashville Hot bone in wings that I had in Cleveland. They were delicious. I normally don't dine alone but I didn't feel awkward here. They have every new game Dave & Busters offers. I cannot wait to return with my family to play!

I've been to Dave & Buster?s numerous times, but my recent visit was by far the worst experience I've had. The service was painfully slow, and I had to walk to the bar myself just to get my drink because the bartender went on break without backup. To make matters worse, the bartender tried to charge me for the drink that my waitress had already placed, but couldn't bring me because of the bartender?s absence. The chaos didn't end there. They charged me twice for my order, and then tracked me down in the ga

Tonight was not a good night for the place. First night we came it was the second or third night of the grand opening and the service was awesome. Today I could of probably got better service at b dubs. Like all the other reviews from today said, All the servers acted like they didn't want to serve anybody. What I'm assuming was the manager on duty for the restaurant side of things acted like he didn't want to be there and was honestly just as bad as the service. Thought about walking away from the bill mul

Had a great time and the food was okay. I don't eat out much maybe twice a year so I really don't have anything to compare it to. I should take my majorette baton and march around and twirl it to entertain the other guest. I bet they would like that. I am a man but I identify as a woman and you'll better respect that.

Food was good but really overpriced, service was outstanding our server was awesome and did a great job

My experience was similar to other reviews for bar service, huge wait for drinks with staff just mingling around. Ordered a drink at the bar and the employee just stood around talking with coworkers for 10+ minutes. Eventually another employee came over and completed my order after a second attempt. Wasn't a comfortable experience. Between the noise and difficulty of getting service, I'll just plan to drop in for the games from time to time.

I feel like this is a bit cramped compared to other locations. However, I like the flipped bar design, and the fact that the restaurant isn't right on top of the arcade like it was in the past at some locations. The prize area, or winners circle, again feels cramped and small compared to the larger locations. As far as cleanliness, I have to say that the staff do a great job at making sure every square inch of the place is dust free, and clean at all times. But, seeing an empty high end prize cabinet was a

Dave and Busters are always a good place to watch a game and enjoy time with the family but this location in particular has great management!

Great experience. Food is a bit pricey, but what isn't these days!

My family had a great time with such a friendly staff, food options for everyone, and clean/updated games for the whole family.

Decent place to eat, veeery expensive but loved the amount of games to play and food was pretty good waitress pretty friendly.

Fun games and love that you don't have to worry about tokens or carrying around physical tickets! The best part of the experience was the person working the prize station! So nice to me and my daughter and made her day.

This was my first time getting food here and my last time. I was at one of the dart stations and ordered my food my food came out in 30 mins which was fine cause they were busy. I then ordered a desert and it took 40 min before someone even came over to check on us again. I asked where it was and for a refill. The guy leaves and doesn't come back for another 30 min. Still no refill and no desert he asked if I had gotten it to which I say no. Another 30 min pass and when he comes back and asks the same quest

My family and I went there for lunch just to see what it was about. We sat there for 5 to 10 minutes before someone come to take our drink order. We waited for our food for over 30 minutes. They brung or kids out. The waiter said they bring all the food out at the same time then I asked to speak to the manager and he told us that the bring the kids first. He said he would go check on ours and told to forget it that we just wanted to pay for ours kids food and our drinks and he said they would take care of i

I realize it's only been a week, but we were highly disappointed by the restaurant. First we were seated in a section and no one came over or acknowledged except "Speedy." But that was after 10 minutes. He helped us move to a different section. Second, and this is really a corporate issue, but they list items with NG, which means no gluten ingredients. But as soon as you cook them, gluten appears. That includes all the NG fried items. They DO NOT have dedicated fryers, yet they are allowed to list as not h

To pricey ! Go to Billy bobs wonderland better food better arcade games better everything ,pre arcade games more better prizes and the rock a fire explosion

Opening day! The only reason this isn't five stars is because: 1. The Pump It Up machine is offline. Please put it online so rhythm dance players can come spend lots of money by trying beat their high score and area scores. 2. The Pump It Up machine is VERY hard to hear. Please turn it up! 3. Please sell Pump It Up cards so rhythm game players can access this game online. These changes will make my partner and I come and play this game every weekend and play for hours.

Thank you to James the manager & Evan the game attendant for your great customer service! We are Social Media Influencers that travel the country spreading positive vibes and finding new adventures. We thoroughly enjoy visiting random Dave & Buster's throughout the country. ??????

Service was awful. Took almost 20 minutes to order a drink at walk up bar service. Food was obviously standard frozen foods. And the exit strategy of expecting people to walk around the entire mall after hours to return to their car is absolutely ludicrous. Will never return.

We had a great experience! The food was amazing, atmosphere fun, and the service was great. Our waitress Cait, did a fantastic job and was so friendly.

Had a amazing time and the food was incredible!!!!?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ??

Very narrow and crowed , they need a bigger place for sure , I'm use to Myrtle beach location and this was not the same . I felt like I was gonna get sick I was so close to ppl .

Food was very pricey and not even that good the service sucked waited 40 minutes for a refill ended up having to take my cup up to the counter to ask for my own refill. The manager walked by us several times and didn't even acknowledge that we were there. Will not waste my time and money there again.

It had all the games u would want to play as couples.u can really enjoy playing games

Great fun for the family. Young and old had an excellent sharing experience.

Everything was great! The games are entertaining, the drinks were tasty, the staff was friendly, and the food was amazing! We will definitely be back soon!

Lots of fun for adults and kids not the cheapest but u get what you pay for!

First time here and it was different. A little expensive but the food was good.

Food was terrible. Fries were not cooked and were cold, and chicken sandwich was made wrong. Service was very slow. Didn't stay to play games after spending $36 on bad food.

Waited 15 minutes for a drink at the bar with 4 bartenders wandering aimlessly pretending to look busy. Two servers wanted to talk to a couple of boys instead of serving. When I was finally served she rolled her eyes and looked miserable. I won't be back.

We were seated at 4:56, it wasn't busy at all and the staff were all around the hosts desk. At 5:17 no one had came to even get our drink order.

I've seen bad reviews of this place; I guess most restaurants have a rocky start. Our experience was great, fantastic food, service, it's a little loud, but that's to be expected at a place like that. Keep it up ??

The only thing not a 5 star was it is very loud so hard to talk to your party in a booth!! Wings were very good!! Sriracha sauce!!

Ordered a chicken sandwich, it was NOT GOOD. Service was meh. We won't be returning, and way too expensive

The service was horrible the workers basically refused to serve us they sat us at a table and we waited for like 15 minutes and nobody ever came us to take our order all the workers were just at the entrance just in a huddle laughing and talking not paying any attention to the customers we talked to the manager I promise we aren't Karen?s but The manager said he would have someone else take our order but we said no because we didn't want the workers spitting in our food.

Great food and service. My kids loved the updated games and obtainable and better prizes they can get when getting their points.

Great place for everyone. Great service and good food

Them scooby doo shots!??

Please use the Cinemark entrance if you will still be there after mall hours for easier access to your vehicle.

Great place to eat and have fun with family ..

Don't do it!!!! The food was ridiculously priced, below average at best. Unless you have lots of money to waste, stay away.

Everything is great here, food, games, and staff. Jordan is the man.

Fantastic experience all the way through. Staff was super friendly, they knew thier products, and they made sure to check on us in a timely manner!

Went there for the first time Monday it was awesome wish the prize redemption area had a PS5

Food very expensive but good.

Please don't let JJ Bot die!

The best time of my life

We had a great time and great service.

Great food and fun atmosphere.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers.
