Dave & Buster's Austin

Dave & Buster's Austin

Reviews Summary

Dave & Buster's offers a fun, lively atmosphere with a mix of arcade games and dining, appealing to families, couples, and groups. Most reviews highlight great food, strong drinks, and friendly staff, though some note slow service or high game prices. The arcade is well-maintained but can get noisy, and while food is generally praised, a few find it overpriced. Special deals (like half-price Wednesdays) are popular. Negative feedback focuses on occasional poor service, unsupervised kids, or private events limiting access. Overall, it’s a solid choice for entertainment, with minor drawbacks.

Customer Reviews

Not too busy. Had some fun games like axe throwing and bowling. I would like to see some fighting games. The chicken sandwich and burgers are tasty.

This Dave and Busters looks like it may have been updated recently. It was clean, nice staff, good food selection and lots of great games. The rewards for tickets seemed really reasonable compared to other places. We got the sliders which were really nice. I had the bacon burger which was good with truffle fries.

Awesome time always at this Dave & Busters. Cole, the manager, helped working with everybody behind the bar. He was kind and made sure we were having a good time. $5 appetizers and 20oz beers is an awesome deal. We played Jurassic Park for hours. Takes your mind off of business or any problems you might have.

Great place for a date night or take the family. Great drink specials and appetizer samplers. We ordered an appetizer sampler and order of fries and fried pickles. There was plenty of food and didn't need to order individual meals. You can eat at the restaurant portion, then play games.

So much fun! Dave & Buster's Austin delivered a perfect mix of great food, drinks, and games. The arcade has something for everyone from classic favorites to new, high-tech games. The staff were friendly, and everything was clean and well-organized. Whether you're going with friends or family, or on a date, it's a blast every time. Highly recommend!

My Frustrating Experience at Dave & Buster?s (April 25, 2025) On April 25, 2025, I went to Dave & Buster?s with my son, who was visiting from Raleigh, North Carolina. We planned to watch the NFL Draft and later be joined by my nephew. We sat at the bar, and when our server asked if we wanted to order food, we told her we would wait for my nephew but agreed to order drinks. We ordered two Jameson Long Island Iced Teas, which were very good. As my nephew was running later than expected, we ordered two more

Have never been to a D&B before, but decided to try it out. Awesome place. Staff were attentive, food was fantastic, and the games were a blast. Loved the VR ones they had. Eric was our waiter, would recommend asking for him if possible. Will be back for sure

Eddie was a great manager. Kept checking on my family and how the food was. Super friendly and attentive...so much so I had to ask his name because I've never had that kind of personal service. We will be back!

Went yesterday for the first time for my son birthday .wow very professional and respectful staff.my son enjoyed every second. Place was calm and clean environment

My first time visiting this location today. The food was great, drinks were good and Michelle was an awesome server. My lady friend and I had a great time.

Been a D&B family for over 30 years - took our son when he was a child in Dallas and have continued the tradition since retirement here in Austin with our grandson, he loves it just like his dad. We like the food too! UPDATE: grandson end-of-summer D&B today (Wednesdays half price games are the best!). Food & games great as always, plus the best staff service ever, she remembered us from a visit over a month ago including everything we ordered including what our grandson has to eat and drink! Love D&B!

Our first time here. The manager Chris that greeted us at the door was amazing! He was very attentive to all customers no matter where they were. Restaurant? Chris was there. Bar? Chris was there. Got a question? Chris was there. We saw him greeting customers, making sure they were taken care of at the restaurant (clearing tables and all), then when the bar was busy he was making drinks along with the staff. He was working hard and making sure everyone was taken care of. We had a great time on valen

Love this place but having a private event from 3 pm - 10 pm on Saturday tells you all you need to know. Not local and disheartened to know they chose money over loyalty. Thanks D&B for selling out. April 26th, 2025, at 4 pm turning several hundreds customers away.

Wow! I had never been before, so I didn't know what to expect. I thought it would be geared towards kids, but I was definitely wrong. The Sweet Bourbon BBQ sauce on their wings was, by far, the best wings I've ever had!! No joke!! The food presentation was very nice as well. The games were so much fun!!! My favorite was the hungry hungry hippos!!!

I've been to Austin's in pflugervil. They have more games over their and more/better prizes compared to this "adult arcade". The platter was good tho. Tbh I have no reason to return with my girl. Removed 2 stars, 1 for limited games(more for kids vs adults for an adult arcade theme aka beer) and lack of excitement/urge to return.

The kids (and us, the parents) had a lot of fun! The arcade was spacious and clean. I was pleasantly surprised they had so many veggie options and fresh, delicious food. The staff were great and attentive. It was a bit pricey, though...

Well I have been here several times and my kids and I love it! It is a bit pricey but honestly it is worth it. It's fun for both kids and adults. The food and drinks are delicious, from appetizers to entrees. If your looking for a good fun family time this is the place to be. It is also a awesome place to go watch a sports game or boxing/kickboxing fight with your friends if that's something your looking for to do. Oh and the substitute of the zucchini noodles from regular pasta has been the best idea ever

The atmosphere is decent. The games are pretty repetitive with just different characters not much variation in games. It's super clean and the employees are nice. Over all decent experience

Did a WWP event this past Sunday and the food was amazing and the service was great and everyone that work there was so kind and eager to help. First class place to take the family. Very clean and up to date. Beautiful place.

Some of the worst service we have ever received. All of the staff including the management didn't seem to care at all about providing any service or hospitality. ?Served? from the bar on an extremely slow Sunday evening. Dirty glasses sat beside us for the entire visit. At one point I asked the bartender for the waters we had originally ordered and her response was ? Yeah give me 5 minutes.? Was planing to stay and play games but left as soon as we finished our food. Had been in the past and don't rem

Arcade meets sports-bar meets American diner! Not a bad combination. Definitely will please a family with kids. All ages can find something suitable. We had beers and parmesan fries (delicious and BIG), but next time I wanna try burgers etc too. Parking is easy. It was a little too crowded but it was okay for a Saturday. You can easily spend a few hours here.

We come all the time, for the fights or big games. Tonight we were here for the Longhorns vs Ohio game. Tye our waiter was by far one of the best waiters Ive ever had. I want to say you have a great employee working here & it's rare to come across these days. Hope this review gets his recognition. Thanks again bud :)

Fun place, but some things were not working. The kids still had fun though..... Employees kind of have an attitude

Awesome place to let kids are enjoy for 2-3 hrs easily, food was awesome, kids and adults both finished everything ????

Actually, pretty good food and some great deals if you get a club card! Great bartenders and some surprisingly affordable happy hour items. Love the tap zone where you can pour your own beer!

First time going to the Austin location and definitely will be coming back primarily because of Isaac. His service was impeccable and made the D&B experience way better than usual. My fiance and I were pleasantly surprised at how good the food actually was.

Today was my son's birthday and I decided to take him to D/B to have fun and play his fill-in games. We also sat down to eat. The food was very tasty. The best part of the evening was that I shared with our waitress that today is my son's birthday and we ordered the chocolate cake. Oh boy, when it came out it was the best-looking cake of the night and so ?? delicious.

Love it here for watching sports. Great food & service also. Especially appreciate the veggie options & revised healthier menu. Tasty zucchini "pasta," grilled salmon or the Impossible burger.

So far, so great. We take full advantage of half price Wednesdays at the ?very special game shop? with our 4 year old. Such a great time and not busy at all mid-day.

Had a great time with my Husband. We took advantage of ?the all you can eat wings? and played games. My favorite was the VR games & we won a jackpot on one game so we walked away with a super cool prize! Wings were delicious too!! Definitely will return!

Absolutely love this Dave & Busters location. The service at the dine in area is always amazing and food comes out hot and fresh. It does get a little warm inside the gaming area but besides that my family always has a great experience here.

Went for birthday dinner disappointed in the food. Chicken strip were dried out almost like beef jerky texture but the fried pickles were the best I ever had!

I have been here a number of times and every time they don't fail to disappoint. Wether it's overpriced glitchy games that make you feel dumb for swiping your card or very rude VR simulator attendants that make your family night into a horrible one. Although the very nice security here seems to be one of the few friendly and happy to help kind, it's just not enough to make you want to stay long? even if it's because your kids would want to come here. Try to find another place

The games were fun and good although there was a rude karen employe sarcastically saying " say excuse me" because we were walking up some steps next to her. The food is also very overpriced.

They racially profiled me at entry and denied me and my friends. They were so rude for so reason. We took our service to main event. Do NOT come here!!!!! SO RUDE!!! Especially for a place in Austin!!!!!

Took my son here for his 6th bday despite my gut feeling to go to Chuck E Cheese. Waitress took our order and didn't verify if we wanted eat and play. My wife ordered off the eat and play menu however waitress still neglected to confirm she decided to just give them kids meals. Once check was issue and was paid we asked about the cards and waitress got upset saying we didn't tell her what we wanted. Even though we ordered off the correct menu. Anywho needless to say we won't go back . Too many other D&Bs th

My family and I decided to go out to celebrate my birthday at Dave & Buster?s this past weekend and we had an amazing time. Our server Eric gave us the best service I've ever received at any Dave & Buster?s. He was attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and his customer service was unmatched. He made great recommendations from the menu and he did not miss a beat with making sure we had everything we needed before we could even ask. I will definitely be back and I hope to have Eric as our server every time.

The burger was great. The atmosphere was awesome. Had a great lunch before the game.

Met a friend here for food and fun. They were very short staffed but our waiter was on it. He was attentive and kind. Nachos were delish. Then we went off to play and had a great time. Will be back.

The staff is the sweetest from beginning to end. The food is yummy albeit pricey and cocktails are good too. I was a kid again for a little while. If you are lucky enough to have Toni as your server she is so sweet and funny. Overall I recommend for a date night or a family night ? my husband is mad cause I beat him on all the games

Eric was honestly one of the best bartenders I've had in Austin in the last 7 years. He was so good that the rest of the experience did not matter. And he was on point 100% of the time.

Fun times, wasn't crowded at all food was great. My daughter lost her phone and it was taken to the lost and found. The gentleman there was very nice and made sure it was her phone before giving it to her. Our server was also very helpful and fast service.

The bar was filthy, walked the entire bar looking for a clean spot. Food everywhere. Everything sticky. Bartender would t even look at you. One of the servers just standing indignant off to the side. Food from past ppl looked to have been sitting there for a long while. Trully not a place I would take anymore.

We arrived at this location at opening time on a Wednesday, and the GM, Eddie, was at the front desk and greeted us. One of the managers at a later location we visited described Eddie as "bounces off the walls" in the sense that he's always moving around, checking things out and making sure everything's in good shape. He was so nice and welcoming; he even convinced my wife to do the Human Crane which was silly but fun! We briefly visited again the next day when we were in Austin waiting to meet family for

A lot of things felt kinda scuffed and weren't working properly, more specifically the air hockey and the hatchet hero attractions. It's not the worst Dave & Busters I've been to, but there's definitely noticeable flaws here

We had a b day party here. I feel like the kids when I get here every time. You get to eat, play games, socialize and have a few drinks. The environment is sooo chill. Food is always good. The whole group of us had a blast

Had a great time. It's been awhile I've been here. Loved the drink with the little patron stirring stick. Was called the Caribbean. The wife had the mango margarita on the right.

They got rid of the unlimited play passes but still a lot of fun. The food is always good even if the service is a little slow. The staff is friendly. Loads of parking. Drinks are ok.

Best place to spend a birthday (yes, mine's today) in the best arcade I've ever seen and the food choices are varied to perfection. If you're looking for arcade fun and a friendly sports bar atmosphere, look no further than here!

My husband and I just moved to Austin, and frequented the D&B back in Massachusetts. We were happy to find out that this location was within 30 minutes of our home. They recently revamped their menu to include more vegetarian options, including the crispiest fried pickles I've had in a while. The bartender was fantastic, but the woman at the front desk seemed lost. It took a solid 10 minutes to scan two coupons on our phones...and she didn't speak the entire time. We both felt like we were being Punk'd ??

Absolute Joy always enjoys myself. We let our hair down because we're business partners, but we know we're safe, and we can enjoy ourselves. Kudos!

had a great time! It was our first time. We had fun and Love the food. Can't wait to go back.

it was really good to visit this location, the food and the games were really good! prices for the game cards are a bit pricey and charge a 3 dollar activation fee for getting a playing card if you don't already have one, which i find odd.

Updated post 6/21/24: Tonight we did have food and it was surprisingly delicious. My daughter had fried chicken wings (8) Lemon Pepper with a side of French fries. She had Ranch and Buffalo dipping sauces. The fries weren't piping hot but those wings were fried to order and came out steaming hot and seasoned almost to perfection. (NO ONE CAN BEAT MY PERFECT SEASONING) I had the barbecue chicken flatbread pizza which was delicious and a side of Caesar salad. To drink I enjoyed their frozen patron margarita

March 2021-Enjoyed my visit here as always. Everyone was pleasant and respectful. The food was slamming! Waitress was on point, except her supervisors kept coming by to see if we were good. That was a good thing, just started to get a bit annoying. Love the big screens!! The crane game is addictive! _____2019-Plenty packed on Saturday, but everyone was respectful and helpful...so were the patrons. 5 stars

The server was nice and helpful but we waited a long time for some of our beverages. During gameplay, we had issues with a couple of games (not abnormal) but there was only one person fixing games so it took a while. Ultimately, it was ok we will still be back.

You have a job as a bartender. Regardless of what restaurant you're at you should acknowledge the patrons when they sit down. I sat down at the bar, not acknowledged while 2 bartenders on duty talked and snacked . Don't get me wrong not everyone at the bar was ignored. Eventually my order was taken. I'm just saying how do you have clicks when your tips depend on the service to ALL!! The cheese stacks tasted old

Sweet place to take the kids. Me, my wife, and my daughter had a blast, we were there for over 4 hours and didnt even realize it. Great food! I had the salmon and it was delicious?? The server was very nice, respectful, and welcoming.

Came here to celebrate my daughter?s birthday but oh my was it a bust. First, you can't place an order with a waiter. You have to scan the AR code off the table and find your own table. Well we did as we were told then we were told by a waiter we couldn't sit where we did and had to move. I had already scanned the AR code from that table because we didn't want to waste time and wanted to get our drinks ASAP. Well that apparently caused a big issue. We were a group of 10, we placed separate orders & when the

As far as the food from the pics added the ribs and fries were wonderful ribs cook right sauce was finger licking ?? crisp. The steak and linguine is a different story spoke with whom I'm assuming is a manager or shift manager. Looks like Jennifer Anderson... Handle my food indifference very well asked ? About what was wrong what I didn't like. I also ask ? About how they cook and season their food all whiched she answered her attitude was excellent... I did get a new meal grilled chicken Alfredo with mushr

Worst Dave & Buster's ever. After reaching Legend status (ie spending a lot of money here), I was one card shy of a complete Star Trek set. The card I needed literally fell after my last coin push. HOWEVER, because the computer "sensed" that the card fell AFTER my last coin push (and because computers are always right), the card that I needed fell into the unretrievable receptacle. After bringing this to the attention of management (ie arguing with entitled blonde haired, earring wearing manager "Chris"), h

When I lost my game card, Celeste Gonzales went above and beyond to assist me with getting it reprinted! 10/10 fantastic service

Food was great, games were fun, drinks were a little pricey but nothing crazy; will return!

There is no one in the front , and barely anyone around the place itself. It smells moldy and like vomit. Looks huge from the outside but the actual gaming area is extremely small and disappointing , most of the machines were broken. I have no idea how this specific location has such a high review.

Fun place and this location have ddr but stuck on A20

A fun place for adult and kids. Price starts from $29. Plus you can eat and drinks (adult) as well. From the game winning ticket you can go and collect your prizes, depends on how much you win.

I don't know what's going on there, but I order a sandwich with bacon, I presume everyone knows that bacon is smoked pork belly or some other equivalent fatty part, as long as it's smoked... if your bacon doesn't taste like bacon... then, it's dishonest and slightly anti-American.

I ordered the fire grilled salmon w veggies. Fun atmosphere playing games arcade and Pretty decent size TVs. ?? They also have desserts strawberry ?? shortcake. Lots of arcade games. Kiddo had a fantastic time!

Way too expensive. The nachos were depressing. The games are overpriced. They trick you with having it, so your first game you win a thousand, and then after that you don't win anything.

The arcades were awesome however the service is hot garbage nobody at the front sat down try to order food taking them 30 minutes to get to us as we were leaving the waiters are horrible

Food was good and service was excellent also a lot of fun with the games tables clean and sanitized after every use but games were not.

I've always loved the variety of foods here and glad since Covid some items remained on the menu. Like the Triple Bacon Burger. Imagine your first kiss with your first true love and how it made you feel so good inside. THATS EXACTLY WHAT THIS BURGER WILL DO. ?? We also had the Cantina Nachos which is more than enough for two people to share. While you're there and if you're of legal drinking age try Eastcider Blood Orange. One CON... the amount of unsupervised children running around.

Overpriced and underwhelming games and food. Particularly, the VR was of incredibly poor quality for $15/person. Dollar for dollar, you'll get way more value and quality from Main Event. I came here because my family had gift cards; we burned through those immediately and I have no reason to ever go back.

As I had a late night craving while most places were closed Dave and Buster's definitely delivered. I got the chicken parmesan and cheesecake dip which I really like that idea of the cake as it was sweet with the strawberry sauce to give that tart and the cookies and cream and regular waffle cone, tasted wonderful Plus my chicken parmesan was plenty and the chicken was just right crispy and thick packed with a good amount of herbs and my waiter was amazing

I love all the games they have and if you come on Wednesdays, it's half priced! What's better is surprisingly, their food is really good! Try their cocktail during happy hour to get a really good deal as well!

We had such a great time!! We went late Friday, Nov 2 and it was so fun. We want to thank one employee in particular for really enhancing our experience so much, Hailey was so great, even as we asked for help with a machine a couple times. 10/10! Thank you so much Hailey!

Went in with a company party. We were very well attended to. Food did seem to take a bit longer than you would expect considering we were almost exclusively the only one in the building on a slow Tuesday night. but, food was tasty for a corporate chain, drinks were a touch stronger than expected, and bartenders were attentive.

Eric and Chris are amazing!! They make this place as great as it is! Highly recommend getting a game table at the bar with them.

Beer tap zone and express bar not ideal!! Was placed here because I made same day reservations (thinking they would se as t us in dining area). The tap did not pour correctly, and because it went by the oz, youpay for the foam. There weren't enough servers in that area either, so timing not great.

I'd like to point out your incredible server Kristyna, they perfected customer service and deserve a raise for the hard work and dedication they show to their customers. To top it all off the food was delicious, all thanks to thier recommendation of the chimichurri plate subbed to be vegan. Games have also been refreshed, the wide selection is sure to amaze you!!

This place is getting more and more sad. Lots of large empty spaces in the arcade where games once were. Prize area is EMPTY. We came around noon and had the whole place to ourselves. Because it is not busy, the guy at the prize area is just standing around. But instead of just standing there, why doesn't he restock the prize area? I think this is the perfect opportunity to restock the prize area, while it is not busy. What is he going to do if it gets more busy later on in the day? We expressed these thoug

Food was decent but took a long time for having so many empty tables. They present themselves as a higher end experience but leave silver rolls and app plates stacked on the table for self service. Games were fun and all working well.

Food was delicious! Must try the chicken avocado sandwich! Wish I would've got a pic. The strawberry watermelon margarita was delicious too!! We had a great time with our 13 year old also good prizes!! Would recommend over another game place we tried.

Had a good day at D&B. The spicy taco burger is surprisingly good but not for the weak! Games are pricey (of course) but still fun.

Overall, 4 stars is deserved. Our waitress was overwhelmed and we did not get the top notch service that was expected. The food was surprisingly delicious and the place was clean. The bathrooms were a bit dirty but what do you expect on a busy Saturday night. My party of 10 enjoyed themselves and we would visit again.

This is where I come every Wednesday to unwind when I have money because the staff is amazing the games are fun the food is good and the atmosphere takes me back 20 years in age and I'm hoping one day my future wife stares and says omg you are a giant kid

I am Coach for a youth baseball team, and we are so appreciative with Eddie the GM. He has made our Team ceremony a super success and parents/players had the best time. Food, service, literally every aspect of this Dave and Busters is in a high level category. As a repeat customer with my family, I have seen this particular location reach a new height and Eddie the General Manager deserves ?? and lots of credit. Thank you Eddie and D&B for taking care of us!!!! Coach Torres

There are lots of arcade games for kids and a decent selection of food choices on the menu. It's very loud in there and everyone in our group was ready for a break from the noise after being there for an hour or so one afternoon. The combo deals with food and a game card are a decent deal but the games themselves are pricey so make sure to get plenty of chips on the play cards.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
