The 7-year-old birthday party crowd really enjoyed Cool Crest, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure the adults were comfortable as well.

I'm sad to leave this review as I loved coming here as a child and was excited to finally be able to bring my child who is now old enough to play miniature golf. The cashier was kind enough to let my 6 year old have a free game as it was her birthday and we chose the kings area because it was the most shaded but was sad to see what condition it was in when we started playing. Great time for kids. Prices are very reasonable. I came here as a kid and not much has been updated but who cares?! Fun arcade games to keep kids and adults entertained. We got pizza for cheap and the only thing I wish is that it had been warm enough for mini golf!

We actually had a Blast!! I have been in Kansas City for years and just never ever been there but I'm so glad we went. Had our daughters birthday party here. Loved every second! Is it older, sure. But every single worker was friendly, the party was very good value, and it kept them all entertained!

This business has been around forever, but, it's lost it's luster over the years! From the exterior to the mini golf ?? holes ?? you'll see for yourself! This is a fun place for the entire family. We love playing miniture golf on their delightful courses. Plus, there's a video arcade, go-karts, and batting cages. You can take a break from activities and enjoy a pizza and a coke in their restaurant.

The golf was great. However, it took them over a hour for them to get our food cooked. We were the only ones in line. When it finally did come out it was all cold. All we ordered were 2 hot dogs, chilli cheese dog, cheese fries, and chilli cheese fries. We ended up playing in the arcade to pass time. Half the games were out of order. a pretty standard Cool Crest style course. athey have 4 courses, but one, the knight was unavailable when we played. We did the Queen and the King courses. There are a lot of similar holes between the different courses, but also several that are different. The overall play on the courses was fun, It looked like they had replaced the greens fairly recently, so the balls rolled well, but some of the greens won't replaced well, and several had wrinkles that can effect play. My family comes here as a family outing quite often. We love the atmosphere. Cool Crest was going down hill for awhile, but when I came this time, they had started repairing the buildings and the place is looking much better overall. I really enjoyed the package we bought. 4 golf courses per person and we didn't have to use them all that day. The prices are fantastic. Thanks for a great family event.

Took me back to my childhood??! They still have coins and tickets. The prices are reasonable, but there were a few cons. The night we went (for my sons b-day) was not crowed, so that was great, but a few games didn't work and there was only one ticket counting machine working, the kitchen was not open and the carpet smelled. The attendants did replace lost coins, but we had to play then leave to get food. Overall, it was fun and we'll visit again!

This place has had its ups and downs over the years and it's taking another nose dive right now. We had our granddaughters 10th birthday today and there was several cockroaches in the birthday area we paid for, there's also a huge part of the wall falling apart in the food area. Decent enough place to take kids for a few hours away from screen time. Love some of the package options, especially the current Groupon which is 3 attractions for 2 people for 25. We brought our three grandkids to this fun place yesterday. They had a great time especially riding the Go Karts. We also did the mini golf and played in the arcade. There is no entrance fees, one just pays for the different games. A couple of the games in the arcade didn't work well but that didn't spoil the fun. The staff was very helpful and all in all we had a great experience. Will be back again!

Love it here i literally spent 25 dollars and we got 1 large pizza 4 drinks and 100 coins to play with! You can't beat that deal! It's such a laid back place and not packed!

This place is the same as is was years ago. I had a blast with my daughter and husband. They need to update some of the statues and paint some things but it didn't affect the game play. Some spots were rippled on green making it hard to put.

Great fun time with the adult kids. Enjoyed how the greens are unique and not commercialized. Played 2 rounds and the hardest one was the dragon. Also played air hockey, skee ball and basketball in the arcade. Feels very old school but in a good way.

My son and I went for one on one time. He loved it and it's just as fun as I remember at his age. We spent a lot of time winning tickets to get him the lava lamp. Then he beat me at mini golf. Lol definitely a great family place!

I've been going to cool crest since I was a little kid. Mini-golf is always so much fun here on pretty much any of the four courses. Unfortunately any of the moving parts of the course were no longer working. Understandably, as they're all pretty old, but still a bummer. We were more disappointed with the batting cages, the balls werent being conveyed back to our cage so twice while we were in the cage trying to bat, it ran out of balls halfway through. It was honestly super lame. Most Of the game machines ate your coins or didn't give you your tickets. Or didn't work. The mini golf was poorly maintained. The only ok thing was the go karts. Overall I do regret spending my money here. It just sucks and total waste. But the employees are super cool! Just won't be returning

We had a fun afternoon playing a game of mini golf. Course is very dated. As is the building, restrooms.

The mini golf courses are getting pretty tough but we still had a good time playing a quick 18 before dark. I do hope to see some restoration eventually and hope that cool crest remains for years to come.

We stuck with just the arcade when we visited Cool Crest due to weather. The games were fun, but we had issues with the machines taking coins and sometimes not receiving tickets after playing. Friendly service. The bathrooms weren't the best, but the rest of the arcade was to be expected.

Arcades were only half working and kept taking our tokens. They could have put signs on the ones that were out of order. Go-Karts were absolutely awesome i'd go again just for them & Golfing.

Lots of missing/broken pieces and non working elements. The greens leave much to be desired. A lot of them are pieced together (not very well) as you can see. So sad to see Cool Crest in such a state. Needs a lot of love. The price is awfully high for the state the greens are in. Have such fond memories going there as a youngster. Makes me sad to see it like this!

Staff was friendly & did well. Courses weren't maintained very well & many holes had turf that needed repairs. Also, we were there in the evening & there were very few lights making it difficult to see where to aim or where the golf ball went. The place has potential to be great again, just needs some TLC.

Playing miniature golf here brought back so many good memories - the cool breeze, the big shady trees, and the big metal crocodile! It is a good value. Don't expect fancy flowers and overdone landscaping - just a selection of fun and tricky mini golf courses. There is a very cute old-time diner/ ice cream shop. Many of the features on the golf course were not working. Definitely needs some more attention on the golf courses. Was hoping maybe they spent more money on arcade but several machine were not working. For cost and considering everything is so expensive now it isn't a bad place to spend an hour or 2 just needs some work.

Took my family of 5 here on Saturday, 4th of July weekend. We had so much fun! We started off at the batting cages, which was such a good deal price wise. We only did 30 minutes because of the heat, but even my 6 year old was able to have fun and hit the balls going 30-35mph. I have not been here since I was 10 as I don't live in the area any more. I'm 41. I don't think anything has been repaired or updated in that entire time. It was cheap mini golf but I mean none of the obstacles work any more and it literally has not changed in 31 years. Some may like that as it was packed but it's kinda odd. It was fine just shocked it is basically barely maintained.

As some others have mentioned, Cool Crest is not in the same condition it was the last time I was here over 30 years ago. But I loved it! The nostalgia factor is high, the "grass" on the holes was in very nice condition compared to other places we've visited in the last couple of years, and the flowers were well cared for. The kiddos LOVED MINI GOLFING!!! One of the holes had an obstacle that was not working and once we told them about they had multiple workers on it to fix the issue right away. It is nice to see that many people ready to help fix issues at the drop of a hat.

It's very apparent why this place has been open over 70 years! Great golf- 4 courses to choose from, arcade games. It's a little run down and in need of some TLC on the courses and especially arcade games. Course could be updated with fresh paints and maintenance to the obstacles. Some of the arcade games were nonfunctional but did not have signs and just ate coins. Hopefully they keep this place on the up and up since it is such a great Independence mainstay.

Visited 6/8/2024 which is today, we did a round of mini golf and then after being highly encouraged to try the batting cages we purchased what was needed to give it a try, we get down to batting cages to see no helmets or bats so we walk back up to ask where we get those items and was then told that someone would have to come down to supervise and get us the equipment but that no one was willing to go down there and do that so, after arguing we got refunded. I can't really say I hated it I stopped on my way home the other day because I was on the phone with my mother and told her I saw a rainbow so I pulled over just so I could get a picture for her I haven't been too Cool Crest and I don't know how long so this is not a review for them per se but the last time I was there which was probably 20 years ago it was overpriced and it wasn't very well kept clean, however I will say that the miniature golf was fun.

My kid has had his birthday party here for about five years in a row. Started at ten and just celebrated his 15th. It's truly good for any age and he always has a good time.

We played one course and it was in bad shape. The up keep on it is terrible.

Fun arcade games, 4 different mini golf courses. A bit run down, lots of hole number and Par signs were missing on the Queen's course, and the alligator hole ate peoples ball so skipped that one after seeing the group in front of stalled trying to retrieve it. They have go kart tracks, a small food court (kitchen closes 7p on Friday nights), arade prizes the whole gambit.

How is there so many employees behind the counter but one person helping the long line??? Incredibly inefficient.

There's a few games that don't work but they'll always help you out, it's always been a good place to take the kids and I used to come here when I was a kid. So to share the same memories with mine is priceless!

This place is a complete rip off! As soon as we walked in the token machine ate our money. We had to go to the front counter to get what we had already paid for. Half the games were not even on, the ones that were on did not operate. Five of the games just ate our tokens. Instead of refunding our money they just offered us more tokens to lose in inoperable games. Probably don't need so say we won't ever be back.

Please fix the batting cages. They have been down forever and no progress has been made. Batting cages are very hard to find these days, so I'm sure it would bring a lot of buisiness. I know i would spend a lot on batting tokens. If the batting cages get up and running again I will change this to 5 stars.

I brought my son here today 5/5/2023. It was at 5:30 and they were not busy at all. There was one helpful older gentleman who told me to get tokens from the machine and not the counter because you don't have to pay tax. If you go to the cashier instead of the token machine, you'll get more tokens for your money, but that does mean you will be paying taxes. I highly suggest buying your tickets from Groupon. If you try to buy them off cool crest's website and head in shortly after the staff will tell you it takes 24 hours for it to register in their system. This was very inconvenient. We used to come here all the time when I was a kid. They have a game room inside and 4 mini-golf courses outside. I've played these courses in two separate visits (both times with two adults and two kids) almost twenty years apart. The first time was way back in the late 1990s and it was fantastic. It's a place for mini golf but not kept up very well. All the clubs are sticky, and one course, our ball disappeared and never popped out on hole 11, but with only 2 people trying to run a very busy place, no one could come help us. The courses need to be updated.

Three of us had a great time on a sunny Monday morning at the Put-Put! They have 4 courses. 2 of them are nicely shaded and 2 have a little more sun. One of the courses was closed ( I guess they are doing some improvements to it, since it looked the least maintained). Great for kids, adults and elders.
