Coin Castle

Coin Castle

Reviews Summary

The arcade receives mostly positive feedback (many 4-5 star ratings) for being family-friendly, fun, and nostalgic, with a mix of classic and modern games. Staff are often praised as friendly and helpful, though some reviews mention rudeness. Prizes are generally liked, but sizing issues and high point requirements frustrate some. Cleanliness and VIP perks are highlights, while a few criticize reduced game selection, overpricing, or difficulty winning. The attached bar/restaurant adds value for some but disappoints others who preferred the original arcade setup. Greenhead flies and occasional prize stock problems are minor drawbacks. Overall, it’s a popular spot for kids and adults, especially during VIP events or rainy days.

Claw machines don't let you win anything! Spent over $200 between 3 kids and they didn't win anything! Total disappointment. Spend your money at Jenks or fantasy island in LBI. They at least give you a FAIR chance at winning prizes.

Great prizes except when they don't have the sizes for the prizes you win I'm a double extra-large! To win a sweatshirt and then not be able to wear it really doesn't benefit me in any way shape or form. And then when you ask if you can exchange it for something else, you can't because it's a different price structure?! So if you are a larger size person don't play for any of the clothing prizes because they can accommodate for your size. This is disappointing because there's no notice on the machines ??

I love Coin Castle. They have a great selection of games. The games that have tickets seem to pay out the highest amount on the boardwalk but I could be wrong. We had a couple machines take our quarters but not start the game, and the staff came over right away to help out ASAP. They are definitely one of the best spots in Seaside.

Great variety of all games and prizes. Staff is helpful.

I am quite dissatisfied with the customer service at Coin Castle today. My family and I frequently visit coin castle. Today my husband was playing a lulu lemon claw machine and he clearly grabbed it as the tape around package stuck to claw but when it went in win area it would not fall instead fell back in the claw machine after it went back again. We asked them to watch their cameras and they refused. They only offered three free plays which is bull crap. It was on the claw over the win area but would not

Huge fan! They are amazing with children's birthday parties during off season !( Our son has his birthday party here every year and everyone loves it) The kids get game cards to play unlimited arcade games and ski ball with $15 for the other games not covered. Professional, clean and friendly staff! They decorated for me, serve good pizza, soda and goodie bags! The price is more then fair in my opinion and everyone always has a great time!( Check out their website for details) What makes them different in a

much fun! the funny thing is even with a ton of tickets don't think you'll walk out with the flat screen TV as your prize

I am supervisor of a local summer camp. Coin Castle was very accommodating to our group of 60+. The campers enjoyed the arcade and delicious pizza and soda. Very clean, friendly establishment and our, hostess, Liz was amazing. Definitely recommend for bday parties and/ or summer camp activities or just if in area with family. Thanks Liz!

Worst arcade I've ever been to. I've lived at the shore my entire life and I've been to this arcade twice and will never go back. It is overpriced and impossible to win anything. The staff is incredibly unhelpful and rude. I've tried calling multiple times with questions just to be told I can't be helped because they are busy?. Unacceptable and will NEVER be returning.

This was my childhood haunt for one week a year then many many weekends since then. Lots of changes when I was there a month ago. Not so great machines or prizes.

I personally won the most at this arcade out of the 4 arcades I went to. It is slightly more expensive but I felt like I had a better chance. I had the best time and won 2 cats and one medium burger plushy. The casino arcade by the pier is only 50 cents to play but a lot harder to win. I highly recommend!

It was a great way to celebrate our sons 6th birthday! They have pizza cake goody bags and different options but the party of 11 all got enough tickets to go o 10rides and then arcade cards worth $35 due to weather changes but that's exactly what the party wanted so it was a success! Except it was so hot during lunch and cake I was sweating n I hate being dressed hair makeup and then you want to shower again! Party was awesome

Great arcade to have a little fun in the crane games are a rip off just like everywhere else on the board walk but the other games are honest. We tend to save our points for the entire summer than at the end of the summer we cash them in and probably get something I could of bought for a tenth of the money but it's all in the name of fun right.

One major good thing about this place is that it has air conditioning. Lol. And it's has alot of fun games to play. But we all know that it's so hard to actually win the claw games, like at all!!! Which is pretty messed up, after feeding the machine 50 dollars and watch the claw drop your prize right before it gets to the hole, over n over n over again. It really sucks the fun and magic out of it

One of my favorite childhood memories of time with my family that throughout the years i continued with my family best we could from states away. A visit home always meant a visit to seaside and coin castle..

It's pricey but if you budget it can be great family fun. We've been coming here for years and saving tickets/points for the big ticket items. In the past, if you don't like prizes you can save up points for a visa gift card. There's a decent restroom ?next door? in spiceys.

The owner of this establishment is extremely nice. The arcade and staff are very informative & hardworking. They share many years of experience, which definately makes for a better guest experience. I would highly recommend this arcade to any fan of an old school arcade, mixed with a newer variety of pusher games & updated claw machines.

Been there this saturday. These machines for toys picking are programmed in way that you will never win. No matter how much you try and grip the toys accurately the machine will eventually keep it inside the machine. We spent almost $100 and won nothing. Kids were so disappointed

A fun place to go to when down the shore. I really like going to the arcades when on the boardwalk so I usually always wind up hitting this one when I'm there. It's fun and it's always a good time. I love being within the atmosphere and all and I had gone here a lot of time within my childhood and still continue to go here when I go down to the shore. Quality place!

Best arcade on the boardwalk! True 80s vibe, from the quarter-operated machines, to the 80s music, to the happy high school kid working part-time with the coin apron! LOVE IT!!!!!!!

It was great. They definitely added better games since the last time I was there. And the prizes are a bit better. Definitely a great place to bring your family or to spend quality time with your date!

Terrible experience here. Staff were incredibly rude. Do not waste your time or money here.

Fun Easter day!! Everyone had a great time!!

Arcades, skeet ball, table hockey, basketball and more

Coin Castle is THE WORST arcade I have ever been to in my life. We played the claw machine in the back to win tickets, which had a sign on it to win YOUR CHOICE and the manager refused to let us CHOOSE from the contents of the machine and ripped the sticker down saying it was a mistake by an employee. I'm sorry, but that's not my problem & is FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!! When we questioned them, they threatened to call security. This place is extremely rude & unprofessional!!!!! DO NOT LET your kids play here!!!

Had the worst experience, I managed to win at one of the highly claw machines that was labeled win choice of crane. Management refused to swap out my prize and removed the sign from the window. They then threatened to call security when I asked him why they wouldn't stand by their advertising. Will never spend another dime there.

I grew up loving coin castle and that ended up being my favorite arcade. The only reason I give it four stars is because of their lack to compete with the other arcades of similar games and prize payouts are a bit lower. But they do have a good selection of prizes.

I've been going to this arcade since a was a child. The customer service is always great. Coin Castle is the Best Arcade in Seaside Heights, NJ! Enjoyable for all ages! The prizes are all through out the arcade.

I've been going to Seaside for years and coin castle is by far the worst arcade there. They turned half of it into a restaurant and got rid of some machines so now it's even less exciting. Their claw machines are terrible and don't even pick anything up. It's also very pricey at coin castle. I'm not sure how $5 for 6 plays is a good "value" (according to coin castles' website they provide value) when at the casino pier arcade you can play 6 times for only $2. It's really just disappointing. You can get bett

Fun but the Machines are programmed to pay out (win) only once they have made a predetermined amount by owner. If you're not careful you can spend a lot of money trying to win a $5 prize lol

I've been going here for years!!! Was very disappointed to see half is now a restaurant/ bar and there selection of prizes is not good at all. We cashed in all of our points and found something so we could be done with it and just go to Lucky Leo's. Even tho they aren't great either...

The people that work at Coin castle are exceptional and the arcade has a fun family environment. Tickets seem easier to earn unlike other arcade (LL)

Great place to spend the time. The only thing wrong were the flies!!! They're called green heads there were so many!!!! They constantly bite can't play a game without getting bit! It's clean & staff friendly.

Coin Castle Merchandise Wheel Game Stand has been rated as a five star merchandise Wheel game stand. People come to play this stand for the top name prices. The gentleman who runs this stand maintains a five star rating and has a excellent sense of humor. I recommend this wheel game stand very highly.

Coin Castle is adding a new restaurant. Coming Soon Midway Restaurant will open its doors to the public. The restaurant design is out standing and will be a new action to the boardwalk. The Coin Castle has always been noted for out standing designs and workmanship in every thing they do.

My daughter had a blast!

Always fun going here. Theres plenty of ways to score big tickets! Especially the wheel of fortune game. Staff is always on their game when it comes to helping you. Highly recommend.

Excellent arcade, very affordable, games for both adults and kids connected to an inside and brand new outside bar with awesome food upstairs(Mexican food) and downstairs (american and Italian food). You can't beat this place!

Good clean fun. Can occupy the kids with some financial help. ViP days are best

Kids had a great time! Claw machines actually worked and they got lots of prizes. Clean, friendly help. Great experience!

Coin Castle Arcade in Seaside Heights on the boardwalk is such a fun family friendly place to spend time at all year long...Join their VIP Club & win prizes & point giveaways & they do special pricing for everyone to play games & crane machines all year long

I've been going there since I was a kid my kids go there they love it. Staff is very friendly and helpful if you do happen to have a problem with the arcade game you happen to have a problem with.

This place is great if you're looking for some gaming fun. I just wish there were better prizes for LESS tickets

I've been going to coin castle for 30 years and always love it. There are a lot of great games and prizes. Another plus is that it is air conditioned!

Actually this place is an off season place we visit. It is always open and a good center point for a day at the beach!

Another arcade on the boardwalk. Small, but feels more open and less crowded than done of the others. Not much stands out, neither good, nor bad.

One of the best experiences ever! If you're ever near coin Castle definitely recommend stopping by we had a great experience there

The arcade was adjoined to a great place for pizza. Arcade was clean, loved playing skee ball. 8 year old grandson had a blast.

Nice amazing experience me and my wife have fun and share the ticket with the kids around

Awesome place to take your kids to play arcade and cool other kids game, this place does not only have kids game but also adult poker ??

Super cool arcade. Has everything from old video poker to the newest games. Skeeball ball claws and coin pushers. This place had the nicest prizes also.

Hands down, best arcade on the boardwalk! Staff is friendly, claws are very easy to win,

Good Arcade that I've actually won stuff at and staff is nice. Advertise as open year-round which is not true as I've been there and they are not open during winter week days despite listing as such.

I have coming since I was a child. I am mom of 11 yrs old daughter. She loves it too.

There's a lot of fun games and a variety of prizes. Is a great place for everyone in the family.

Several games were broken or out of order. Lost some tokens due to a game losing power while playing and didn't get any compensation. Most of the games felt dirty or sticky.

Fun place for the kids. A little pricey but perfect for a rainy night in the summer. Also, great carnival food.

Kids always have a blast on the Boardwalk! Lots of food, games, & rides! What better way to enjoy the beach!

Good atmosphere and good amount of tickets per dollar if you play the right games!

Just like when I was a kid, I had a real blast here. Most of the original stuff has been replaced and that makes me sad but still great entertainment.

Great place to go and kill some time

I did my son?s birthday in there and it was awesome!

Always a great time to play arcade games but need a million points to get a piece of bubble gum and spending 50 bucks for it

Very good but I'm going to reccomend lucky Leo's as they have way more events a better prices for cheaper price

The kids always have a blast playythe games and exploring. All the bright, flashing lights are exciting!

Great place to unwind. Wish they had more arcade games and pinball machines.

Nice arcade ,fun for the whole family A wide assortment of prizes, lots of cute stuff for the kids

Coin Castle is affordable and staffed by courteous people. The place is clean and family friendly.

Our family enjoys coming here to play the games. Money goes on a card and most games the tickets and points go on the card too.

The games are great but the payout is really terrible-- especially when compared with Lucky Leo's. No comparison. Go to Leo's.

Clean place, great customer service, and a great place to have fun with your family

Always a good time. Classic boardwalk experience. Only wish there were more arcade games.

Always a great experience and friendly, helpful staff. We always win prizes at Coin Castle!

Good place for a few games and some carnival type prize winning. Average down the shore spot.

Love this arcade. I bring my grandchildren every time they visit. Wizard of Oz game is my fav

Great place for kids but not to many games but still fun

It's a fun place to take the kids--even the 'grown-up' kids! ??

Great arcade. The selection leaves a bit to be desired and the staff just isn't as kind and as readily available as some of the other arcades near by.

Always spend most of our time here. Great variety of prizes and quick staff

My wife loves the arcade. It's fun in the Summer but it's easier to win in the winter.

Decent arcade. Won good prizes. In my opinion I think it's better than lucky Leo's

Well staffed. A couple machines had issues but the staff quickly took care of it.

Very disappointed in his arcade section of the boardwalk they removed 2 of my favorite places to play the stands, the Michael Kors stand and the candy stand outside the arcade to put in a bar which there are tons on the boardwalk

My daughter loves it there. I take her here every summer.

It's a fun way to spend time with kids when you're down the shore.

Many arcade games and games of chance with the mechanical arm that picks everything up and then drops it haha overall a nice little arcade

No more pinball. How can it be the shore without pinball. The second star is for Good skee ball

Always a fun place. The crane games drop a lot of stuffed animals tho!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
