Customer Reviews

As a family of three Australians with no knowledge or experience with firearms, we had a great time here at the Cody Firearms Experience. Bruce was very welcoming and informative and very knowledgeable and helped us choose which guns to shoot, as well as explaining their history and how they worked. They had a great range to choose from. It felt all very safe and professional as he guided us how to fire a gun. One of the highlights of our US trip.

Fantastic, Bruce had a great level of knowledge about everything I shot and I could tell safety was a top priority here which didn't take away from the fun :)

It isn't every vacation day that an event will leave an enduring fond impression on you and your family. Not knowing what to expect, we entered the shop/gun-range/history & cultural center and met with Deputy Alex. He was finishing up some work behind the counter but was quick to greet us. There was no pressure to sell you anything, just dialogues on guns, its capabilities, capacities and commencement of usage. As we talked to Deputy Alex, our conversation got more interesting by the minute. Our eyes were

Junior is the man! We came in and shot a few guns recently. The Gatling, Thompson, and Henry lever action. We were so impressed with how much knowledge Junior had of all the weapons and even giving us anecdotes about them as well. We felt more than confident after he talked and walked us through the firing process. Junior helped make our trip even more memorable with this excellent experience. This will be an absolute must go every time we visit Cody. #JuniorForSheriff

Cody Firearms Experience Wow! We stopped in to see about shooting a Gatling Gun and a WWII 30 caliber machine gun. Alex was great! He was friendly, fun and informative! Alex explained each gun as we stepped up to shoot. I loved his idea of shooting our new t-shirts with the Gatling gun, great souvenir. Definitely an anniversary gift to remember! So much fun!

Love going to this place. It'll be my second time in two years. I recommend everybody to go. The fire arm displays are just out of this world. The native Indian display was awesome, too. It's a must-see.

The crew at CFE were phenomenal! My son picked out a couple old west guns and I got on the Browning m1919. Through the entire process the guys were professional, knowledgeable, safe and good natured. If you find yourself in Cody with some free time check em out!

Wyatt was awesome and spent a lot of time with us. Shooting the Gatlin gun was so much fun. Thanks for a great time!

Husband had a ball shooting an AR 15! Jr ( Steve) was so professional and thorough explaining the gun and how to safely shoot. Highly recommend the experience for those that like to shoot guns.

A wonderful, safe and professional experience. The selection of firearms you can choose from is impressive. Wyatt was a great instructor, explaining the history and function of each firearm. I would highly recommend the CFE. It's more than a gun range with history, as well as the taxidermy on display. Being able to shoot full auto was a blast. It's also neat to experience the "wild west" era of guns too. Don't miss this place if you find yourself in Cody, WY. Thanks to Jr. And Wyatt!

What a cool experience! We are a family of firearms and history enthusiasts and this was such a fun day! Took the whole family (kids ages 10, 12, and 14) and the kids each shot a couple and the adults did as well. Jim was our RSO and he was FANTASTIC! So patient with the kids in teaching them how to fire each one and encouraging them all the time! We stuck to some of the more "historical" fire arms (except our 10 year old). Very knowledgeable and kind staff and we felt completely safe as they do take firea

I visited here to shoot a 1851 Navy cap and ball. Junior was my guide and had a wealth of great information about the gun. I mentioned I was thinking of buying one, and he provided insight on cleaning and the do?s and don't?s of having a powder gun (you put gun powder in the chamber along with a small wad and finally a bullet as opposed to a cartridge). After I paid and was about to leave, Junior handed me a card and said I could reach out to him with any questions if/when I get my own 1851 Navy. The re

My first time shooting a gun, and I'm glad it was at this place! Matthew was an amazing instructor. He made sure that my girlfriend and I had a great experience. His instructions were super clear and easy to understand, and he added humor with his jokes ??. I was a bit nervous pulling the trigger, but having him by my side gave me the confidence that everything would go well. After the first trigger pull, everything became fun and exciting! If you read this Matthew thank you for the experince???????? (From

We stopped in after driving by. They were able to accommodate us. My son and I both chose 3 guns and he chose to shoot the Gatling gun. The staff was friendly and gave us background on each gun we were about to shoot. Safety was A HUGE part of the experience. I would recommend this place for anyone. Experienced shooters or people who have never shot a gun before will enjoy their time here.

Fantastic experience. Professional staff and unbeatable selection to choose from. 1795 Flintlock, 1847 Colt Walker, 1860 Henry, M1 Garand and Thompson MG. All great and will return for more. Thanks, Junior!

Nick is just of another level. Nice person, humble and professional he got us information about each firearm. We were beginners and he helped us to choose the right gun for every of us. The place was clean and neat, and the shooting room was real, real safe. They made up everything to let us shot in the safest conditions. He also brought up, for each guns and rifle, a thorough description of it and its history. Last but not least his trainee (I forgot her name, excuse me!): she was very prepared and happy t

What a memorable experience! The worker showed great compassion for my dad who is disabled, it was a very great experience for the whole family.

First time to hold and fire a gun and it was a Magnum 44. It was some experience and made all the more special by Jr in Cody Firearms Experience. He was so informative and professional. I would absolutely recommend Cody Firearms Experience. Declan (Ireland)

CFE was and absolute blast. So much better than I expected. It is not just shooting guns, it truly is an EXPERIENCE! The staff is incredible, so professionally ran, clean, fun for all ages. What a great time. HIGHLY recommend.

Worth a look. Shot a tommy gun and worth every penny. Got the holey t shirt as a souvenir, great for anyone - any age - gun enthusiast or not. If you like the old west and history you will get a lot from the staff and the small museum inside at no charge!

Great experience at this place. Junior was an awesome instructor and very funny, if I am back in Cody I will definitely stop here again.

This place doesn't disappoint! Today we went in to have look around and we were met by the sweetest personnel. They really make you feel welcome. We had a look around and decided to shoot, it was so much fun. I can only recommend this place.

We love Cody Firearms! Every time we come visit we always make a stop. This time we did ax throwing and it did not disappoint! We will definitely be back to do more. Stop in and check it out!

We had Matthew as our range officer. A lovely fellow with a fine sense of humor. Safety first at this range. Lots of fun and a plethora of weapons to choose from. And your bucket list getting gun is there ! A must do in Cody.

What a wonderful, informative, and incredibly fun experience! All the staff we interacted with were super welcoming and nice. This is a well-run place and I highly recommend for anyone stopping in Cody. Thank you Paul, Matthew, and Charlie! (last 2 pictured here ??)

I have to admit my husband ?talked me into ? going since I'm not exactly a gun enthusiast but I had a blast! Mainly due to our instructor Wyatt who was so friendly and very patient. He made it a great experience. The showroom was very well done with something for everyone. Overall a great thing to do during your time in Cody.

A very good time at the shooting range, thanks to RSO Matthew who provide very professional supervision in a quality environment so that everything takes place with maximum safety.

Professional and knowledgeable staff. Couldn't pass up the chance to shoot a Gatling gun lol Junior was a great RSO, explained the safety rules and very professional as he guided us through the shooting experience. If you fellows ever come up to Vancouver, Canada look us up at vancouvergunrange.ca and we will make sure you have a fun (and safe) time ??

This establishment is incredible! Staff go above and beyond and are so knowledgeable and professional - plus the prices are fair. They took their time to explain, and walk us through which firearms are best to use per each person's experience. 500% recommend, hit this spot then the brewery after!

I've taken both the Basic Pistol & Self Defense Pistol at Cody Firearms Experience from different instructors. Very professional and masters of their craft. It's one thing to be good at something; it's another to be able to teach it to others. I'm enjoying the journey.

As Aussies, this was a cool experience! Our guide Matt was just wonderful. Careful, supportive and excellent with people who have never had the opportunity to do this. We chose handguns but the plethora on offer would excite people who want to try all sorts of guns. Adrenaline producing for us and Matt, come to Australia and cuddle a real ??! We live around the corner from Australia Zoo! You are cool at af.

It was such a great experience shooting the Gatling gun that I ended up buying one for myself! Paul and his staff are the best! I highly recommend you go visit and shoot with them, throw an ax (so much fun and easier than you think) or see their collection of animals. Electric shooting range for the whole family. I just can't say enough about how great this place is. Even if you don't participate they have a comfortable and relaxing seating area to just visit. If you miss it you're missing out!

It was an excellent experience. I was able to fulfill my dream of shooting an M16. The facilities are amazing. The instructor was very careful, nice, and they have a very good level of security. I hope to come back someday. Thank so much!

A great variety of antique and contemporary firearms that you can shoot as well as an arcade and ax throwing arena

We had an incredible experience! Bruce is an outstanding instructor. He made us feel comfortable right away and took the time to thoroughly explain everything, ensuring we felt confident and safe. Highly recommend this place!

Saw the place on google while looking for things to do in Cody and I'm very glad I took the opportunity to visit. They have very friendly and welcoming staff, a big assortment of guns to chose from at a great price, an appealing range with easy-to-understand range rules and great gun safety. Overall an amazing and very fun experience, I couldn't ask for a better first time shooting.

Had a great time! Bruce was great! He was very knowledge and made the experience fun! They are hands on enough to keep everyone safe but hands off enough to get the best experience! Highly recommend! The Gatling gun was fun to shoot and learn more about!

Loss of fun stuff here with a staff that is knowledgeable and confident, but not arrogant like a lot of gun shop employees. Ace throwing is a good time as well, and the arcade fun shoot ( uses laser technology) is fun for kids

For someone that has never shot a handgun before Junior made me feel relaxed and knowledgeable about how to properly handle a handgun the right way. I was very scared but having Junior there talking me through it helped a lot. My husband reinsured me that I can do this and having him by my side helped me to have the courage to be able to do this experience. Thanks for a good experience.

Coming from Australia we have tight gun controls so when we spotted this place from across the road I thought it worth a look. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the opportunity to shoot firearms that we don't have access to in Australia was great fun. A big thanks to Junior for not only making it fun, but giving me an education at the same time.

My Girlfriend and I had never shot a gun before and were interested in shooting some western era guns. With great instruction Alex helped us calm our nerves and we had a great time shooting a winchester and a revolver. Fantastic experience would absolutely recommend to anyone. Together we shot two winchesters (15 shots per person) and two revolvers (15 shots per person) for 190$ Thanks Alex!

Fantastic experience! My instructor Mathew was extremely knowledgeable about the guns I shot and made the whole experience amazing. As a Canadian we are limited by our government as to enjoy activities like this so thank God for places like Cody Firearms Experience and states like Wyoming that still believe in the 2nd Amendment.

What a blast! Although I've shot many firearms, including Class III (?machine guns?) before, I had never fired a Thompson submachine gun, or a Gatling gun. That's right, a Gatling gun! Scott was my RSO, and did a great safety briefing, and a pre-shoot briefing on each weapon, without either talking over my head or talking down to me. My wife got to come on the range to take photos, as well. I got the ?three machine gun? package and through in an M-16 (which I've shot before) to boot. My only regret is no

Mike didn't just give us something fun to do, he provided us with a life experience that will never be forgotten! Well worth the time and money if you're looking for an unforgettable experience in Cody!

Had an excellent time as a spectator ( watch my son shoot). Wyatt and JR were both very friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely stop in again when in Cody

Shot an AR-15 here on 10 september. First time shooting with a gun, what a great experience! The people there were very friendly, and explained everything very clear!! Would recommend going here to everyone that has in interest in shooting a gun

Cody Firearms Experience was one of the best things we did while visiting Cody. Our instructor was very nice and explained everything we needed to know about the shooting experience and the gun we chose. For being a beginner I felt very comfortable and relaxed with this experience. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and it is a good bang for your buck! We booked an appointment, came in and got to shooting! Definitely recommend even if you are a beginner!

Absolutely awesome selection, very knowledgeable staff. Safe environment and loads of fun. Would absolutely go again.

We had the best time shooting a couple antique colt 45?s. Matt was amazing and so patient with us Thanks

This exactly how a shooting range should be ran. Customer service and staff are excellent. Very friendly and accommodating to brand new and experienced shooters alike. They make you feel very comfortable and safe during the whole experience. The price was very reasonable in my opinion. Considering the cost of everything now day I believe it's a very good deal to shoot some very expensive firearms. Put your politics aside and go experience some very cool pieces of history at this place.

Great, friendly & knowledgeable staff. My boys had the best time. Thank you so much guys. ?? I highly recommend this experience!

Had a wonderful time! The guide was easy to follow and really nice. He helped all my kids shoot the Winchester and was very patient.

First time shooting for me (Glock 9mm) and it felt very safe. The staff was very helpful and made sure everything went smoothly. Good recommendations too for my partner who wanted to try something bigger (M4 full auto). Overall fun experience!

Thanks for taking such great care of that family for New Zealand. You guys are awesome if I ever come to Wyoming I will come see you. Y'all are so professional.

Had a great time here during our road trip through Wyoming, it was a lot of fun to shoot a few firearms that just aren't available to the public back home. Bruce was a fantastic RSO, who made sure that everything was safe and fun. Highly recommended, I will make sure to stop by whenever I'm around Cody!

First time shioting and it was the BEST experience. They are extremely knowledgeable about guns and safety is their priority. It was so much fun. Our instructor was Casey and he was awesome!!! His instructions on how to properly handle a firearm, the safety precautions he gave us and all the rest of the instructions made me feel completely comfortable handling the firearm. We are from the eastcoast and as soon as we get home we will be applying for our very own permit!! Thank you for an incredible expe

These guys are so much fun and make the experience unforgettable. I would definitely recommend and look forward to doing this agai

Safe environment, professional, friendly staff and nice collection of firearms. Very accessible for people that have never shot a gun in their lives (also non-US citizens) - no need to be part of a gun club. Open during the day.

An absolutely professional and terrific experience. Matthew was amazing! Must participate.

I would like to start off with that this was my first time firing a loaded weapon and will definitely not be my last. This is a great firing range for both beginners and experienced shooters. The Staff are absolutely awesome and extremely professional. Kent, one of the Range Instructors who my wife and I had an fun time with. He was not just professional but is able to put enthusiasm and fun into his job safely which is a amazing perk in itself. He also carries a lot of useful knowledge not just about the f

First time ever shoot a gun, had a great time for a low cost. I got a great explanation from a personal guide who ran me through the process. The gun I shot got a barrel issue which couldn't be fixed so they had me pick another rifle to shoot for free. Excellent customer service and good safety and security.

Had an awesome experience, great staff!! Went back for the first time in 6 years, still an awesome place! My boys are 11 yrs old and Jim did an amazing job showing them how to shoot properly and safely. Can't say enough good things about Cody Firearms Experience!

Absolutely amazing experience shooting a P90 here! Highly recommend you stop by for some good fun. Very friendly and informative staff as well!

I took a brief class and fired off some rounds at their indoor firing range. My instructor was very knowledgeable and I learned so much! They are very safety conscious and friendly. This is a great place. I also bought bear spray and they gave me advice on that too. The service you receive here is amazing. Most places these days just don't have time and don't care about you. Its rate to find such great service.

Been a regular here for a while. I'm always reassured by their professionalism and attentiveness particularly to new gun users. Worth a visit whether you're a resident or just passing through.

I am from the UK and this was a great experience, good value for money and so many guns to choose from, including a Gatling gun. I chose a smith & western rifle plus a colt 45. The safety brief was excellent, the staff very professional, so polite and really enjoyed their job. When in cowboy country, you have to shoot a gun (safely)

We had a GREAT time! Tim Berry was our safety officer/instructor and was top notch! Not only were we guided in firing the rifle and pistol we chose, we were given a brief history of the pieces as well! My boyfriend is very experienced and comfortable around firearms, and while I am not, we both had a great time! Tim, as well as the rest of the staff, made me feel comfortable and confident despite my being a beginner! Safety is their top priority and it is evident in the way they operate their business. We h

Visited with my 10y/o daughter and 13 y/o son; all three of us shot Gatling gun. What a wonderful experience!!! Bruce was our Range Safety Officer, excellent guy, great safety presentation and excellent customer service! We will be back!!! Worth every penny we spent!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to CFE. Visiting from the UK, it's just not possible to access a place like this back home. I chose to shoot an M1 Garand, the Thompson sub machine gun and a Glock 38 pistol. The staff were excellent. Calm and patient with their instructions to a slightly nervous, novice shooter. An experience many might like to try, whatever your views on firearms. Thanks to Junior in particular.

This isn't you're every day experience. It's hands on with history. Our family had an exceptional time with Levi and Craig. They thoroughly explained the origins and use behind our selection of historical firearms and answered a bevy of questions. And while treating us with charm, safety was front and center. I'd definitely recommend this as a must stop, as it was such a unique experience!

My daughter and I surprised my husband with this. It was better than we expected. Aaron was awesome! Everyone there was awesome. The experience was awesome. My hubby was like a kid in a candy store. Not only do you shoot the guns but they give you the history on them too. Hubby got to shoot the Gatlin, Tommy and the MP 5. If you love guns, you have to do this while your in Cody.

What a fantistic time we had. The gatlin gun was the star of the show. Hats off to Matt. We had a group of 7, and 2 beginners. He was so patient and professional.

My family had a great time shooting everything from black power to the automatic Gatling gun. Everyone was still talking about I the next day. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable also easy to work with.

While vacationing in Wyoming from Maryland my sons saw the advertisement and wanted to visit Cody Firearms. My oldest (18) had already picked out the guns he wanted to shoot. My youngest (14) has never shot more than BB guns or airsoft. Customer service was excellent at Cody Firearms!! The instructors went over safety and answered questions. We were allowed to watch & video the boys on the range. They told us history about each weapon. Reviewed safety & instruction again on the range & helped each son with

Amazing experience! The gatling gun was pretty underwhelming, but who's going to pass up a chance to shoot a gatling gun? The Tommy gun, on the other hand, was an absolute riot. Matt was the expert that helped my partner and me, and he was knowledgeable, funny, and very professional. Place is as western as it gets and you should definitely check it out if you find yourself in Cody!

Two years ago I shot an ar15, this year I shot a dmr700. My kids shot a glock. I will always make arrangements to stop here every couple of years. And yes, you can shoot a gatlin gun

Casey js a top-notch pro, very generous with his time

This was a highlight of our family road trip out west. Highly professional staff and very neat and clean place. Highly recommend!

Definitely a do not judge a book by it's cover destination. Great time from beginning to end. Exceeded expectations and then some. Good fun, great people. Strongly suggest booking more than one gun/firearm.

No possible complaints from our experience. My wife and I went here on our vacation. We had no issue booking an appointment. Immediately upon our arrival, the two gentlemen were exceptionally professional and personable. Each firearm we shot came with a historical background and instructions on use. The facilities are excellent for recreational shooters or folks, like us, trying to shoot historical firearms. We can not recommend CFE highly enough.

Cody Firearms Experience is top notch. We have been to other similar places but this has got to be the best! Great experienced staff who made me feel comfortable, and I actually shot a few firearms I was very nervous about. Good Job guys! If you are going to experience the Wild West, this is a MUST! I highly recommend this business!

The range master was excellent at instructing my kids who have different levels of experience. The history lesson of the guns we shot was great and so was the shooting. Would recommend this for anyone.

Wonderful experience. We were in town for my sons 13th birthday . He chose to shoot two guns one being the Gatlin. Such a neat experience ! The staff was wonderful ! My son really enjoyed shooting the shirt!

Had a great time experiencing what it felt like to fire both a Thompson machine gun and an early model gatling gun. Quite an unique experience. Bought my son a "Cody Firearms Experience" tee-shirt full of holes created by my firing of the gatling gun. Definitely worth your time to stop in and fire a round or two. The guys in there were great!

Really great experience. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Wyatt helped us and he was really nice and great at explaining everything. First time for us and highly recommend.

Have only been there for ax throwing. Very fun!

Wow! Fantastic experience, the employees could easily be working in museums with the knowledge they have of firearms. They were all very polite and patient. I'll absolutely be coming again any time I'm in Cody!

Fantastic experience. We took a group of 10 ranging in age from 12 to 75 and had a great time. The staff is not only professional and courteous but extremely likeable. I would highly suggest making this a stop while in Cody. We'll be back for sure!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
