Coconut Bowl at Wild Island

Coconut Bowl at Wild Island

Reviews Summary

The Coconut Bowl generally receives positive feedback for its wide range of activities (bowling, go-karts, arcade, mini-golf) and family-friendly atmosphere, with many praising the fun experience and good food. However, some criticize high prices, accessibility issues for wheelchair users, and inconsistent staff service. A few mention disappointment with height restrictions for go-karts and cleanliness concerns. Most reviews highlight it as a great entertainment spot, though pricing and occasional service lapses detract from the experience for some.

What a freaking blast!! We were in town and wanted to go do something fun with the kiddos... What a great deal!!! We went on a weekday and they do an unlimited pass for $33 a person. We spent almost 7 hours there and enjoyed every minute!! We did bowling (included shoe rental), both outdoor mini golf courses (probably some of the nicest ones we've been to), indoor glow mini golf, rode the XD movie thing at least 3-5 times (it's cool, kids loved it. Wear 3D glasses, sit in moving seat, and shoot at screen. C

We went on a Thursday afternoon around 1 p.m It was our 1st time going here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A young man went over all of their package deals. We went just to play putt putt golf and decided to play indoors. It was so much fun, a quick little course, but it was perfect 8 holes, I believe. Then we bought a game card to play a bunch of fun games. My don and I had a blast! All of the games were up and working perfectly. We decided to grab a bite to eat but nothing to big because we wer

My daughter lives in Reno. We came down from Cali to celebrate her and my youngest son?s birthday. Sunday afternoon. Lots of fun. Something for everyone. I was surprised. Food was good for an entertainment spot. Fresh salads. Good choices. Not just fried food. Service was quick. They have a full bar and a half bar. The Mocktail menu was a nice addition for those of us who want a non-alcoholic beverage. We choose to do the indoor glow in the dark mini golf course. Line to pay took about 5 minutes. Guy was fr

Lots of stuff to do. Games were relatively inexpensive. I was surprised how many points my 9 year old and 5 year old had left when we left. Food was priced as expected and of mediocre quality but lots of options! I'm sure the go karts were fun but I would recommend advertising how tall you have to be to drive them. My 9 year old was upset he couldn't drive when he is allowed to race at K1 so we didn't race. We are looking forward to coming back in April when we are back in town

We had a great time, a lot to do. I suggest getting a bundle as it is worth it. I also give a great thanks to Jason Melendez as he went above and beyond! My kiddo lost his Apple watch in one of the cannons and he took the time to get it out before us heading home (over two hours away).

Soo much fun. Games are pricey. Lisa of variety. Nice staff!!!

This place is great, I'd never been there before, and as an adult, I found it very entertaining and enjoyable. I use a walker, and when we went to go race the go karts, the staff were amazing. They made sure I had assistance if needed, they made sure my walker and belongings were safe. And their attitude was so great. Will definitely be back

This place was great for the kids (AND us!) We're in Reno from Oregon for the week and was our last full day before heading home and wanted to find something fun for the kids to burn off some energy... great options here, great "week-day" deal! Ended up spending 7 hrs there!

Fun place to go with your family or even just a night out with friends playing pool or bowling. The food is good too.

Great entertainment for all age groups.

Sadly this almost was a 5 star review and almost a perfect experience. I am wheelchair bound and run into issues with bowling alleys being accessible on the regular. We saw this alley and were so excited that everything was one level.... except your tables and seating do not meet ADA requirements. The tables are screwed in and wheelchairs cannot make it passed the seating/table to access the lane. The end lanes were a possible option but there were the plastic kid ramps and the lanes were in use. Upon spe

Everyone in my group was over 18 years old some of us over 40 years old and we had a blast here. I recommend it to anyone of any age. They're very clean, they're very nice, they're very organized and I am surprised considering the size of the building and the amount of customer traffic they must recieve. Five stars, we will be back.

the best place even the water slides it's crazy the place I love there most is the go karts but sometimes I'm worried if I lose my gearing aids lol

Started bowling 4 months ago and have bought all of my balls from the pro shop. Blair and his team have been nothing but incredible. Very informative and helpful their customer service is top notch! Thank you guys

We had a wonderful time. ... The place was huge. ... There were alot of bowling lanes, billiards tables, a race track, and huge varieties of arcade games. ... Lots of table and chairs, easy to order food and drink (eat anywhere because the kiosk. order by just a click and they will find you and deliver your food), lots of displays, play areas for the little ones, I think I saw 2 wonderful bar area and etc. ... best of all no waiting time. ...and it was a holiday season and there were a lot of people. ...

The food portions were small for the price. We went bowling and it was fun and family friendly. We got the all access passes but had to wait so long to do the activities we only got to do them once.

This is my favorite arcade in town. There is a climbing area for smaller children, indoor and outdoor mini golf, single lane bowling, or you can rent out bowling garages (multiple private lanes) for events. We did this for work one year, and it was a blast. They have Lazer tag and indoor go karts too. If you are meeting someone here, there are multiple entrances and bowling alleys inside, which can make it confusing to meet up unless you communicate well.

All around poor experience. Mini-golf scorecard on the phone doesn't work. Just get a piece of paper and a pencil. Not everything needs to be done on a phone. Would actually be nice to not need it out while spending time with the fam.

Crazy big!!! Literally has everything you could ask for. When we were invited to Coconut bowl I thought that it's a bowling alley however I was wrong. They have different types of games and bowlings and go-kart and arcade games, as well as laser tag. The family had a lot of fun and would probably come back if I'm in Reno again.

Honestly was expecting so much more, no expecting to plow head first into a crowd of people, over priced games and food. How can one expect to enjoy theirselves if you can even efficiently walk to the bathroom without shoulder checking 20 people.

We loved this place. Wish we knew about it last year on our Reno trip. They have everything we were hoping for. The pizza was excellent in my opinion. Wish we had one in our hometown.

Honestly there is so much to do at this wow what a lot of fun we bought the all day pass and wow that was way worth it we spent 10hrs in this place and still didn't get to do everything and wow the 3d ride/movie was awesome you really feel love your moving up and falling down so cool they fans in there to give the Illusion of moving or falling. If your thinking of going just do it I'm telling you you will not be disappointed

Fun experience, lots to do. Bathrooms were clean. Getting a drink took almost 20 minutes but all staff were kind.

The place was unacceptable when we arrived; it was dirty and poorly maintained. The staff exhibited rudeness and rushed us during our race car game, clearly trying to push us out. The card machines were inoperative, which only added to the frustration. Additionally, one employee displayed racist behavior and gave away my personal items to someone else! When we sought clarification on this issue, they became aggressive and kicked us out. Overall, my experience was horrendous, and I deeply regret spending my

Great place to bowl, family friendly, and they host lots of bowling and pool leagues. No better place to come hangout or have a date night. Parking gets pretty packed, but I've always found a spot, even late on the weekends. Even got to hangout with bowling pro Daria!

Fun family entertainment at a super decent cost. 12 per adult for putt putt for 2 diff courses that were designed perfectly for the setting. Bowling at 7 a game per person w/a 5 dollar shoe rental, you won't find a better deal nowadays.

Great location, great prices. Mini golf seemed like the only thing there that didnt have a wait time. Bowling took a while to get a lane but that's because it was very busy. Drinks were priced fairly. Would return here again for the mini golf.

We stayed from 4-9:30 . Did lasor tag, bowling, golfing, go-karts and arcade . Ate dinner, it wasn't bad food ! Bowling and food service was EXCELLENT! My kids love go-karts and have driven them several times at other places in Oregon and Cali.. my two youngest kiddos were very disappointed that they couldn't drive alone because they were a half an inch too short. Also, when my daughter collected her prize from the tickets she won at the arcade ...the girl at the counter rolled her eyes because she had to

Friendly Staff, attentive to your needs. Food is good and you can rent a privare bowling area for celebration 's of any kind. Arcades, bowling and a Bar for those of age.

Such a budget worth place! $32 and unlimited games I really love going here with coworkers and friends, I've been to Reno only twice for work and this is my favorite getaway for fun

It was so awesome! Loved the games and the customer service was great for my first time there. The atmosphere was fun and full of smiles. Will be going back there again!

We had a bday party here, and I was extremely impressed. Online, it looks big, but I was surprised at how big it actually is when I got there. There were so many things to do that we didn't get to them all, but we'll definitely return again. The place was very, very clean, which isn't always the case at other kids' venues (yeeting e dairy, and McPlayPetrieDish come to mind). No sticky tables, no sticky floors, and the climbing structure was clearly fully cleaned frequently. No odor of sweaty kid feet, and

Place is huge and there's plenty to do. Ticket prices are a little high to get anything worth something you're looking at needing 1000+ tickets. However their ticket payout is pretty high on most of their machines and they do allow ticket combination if you're with a group.

Fun place for the kiddos. Seen an adult doing the most yelling at workers. If yall can't chill stay home. Don't be scaring the kids.

Amongst the realm of family fun centers, Coconut Bowl at Wild Island is shiny, clean, sparkly and cool. The mini golf course is well "groomed" and shaded. Attractions include: bowling, golf, indoor go-carts, 3D movies, laser tag, ball pit on steroids, video games, bars, food, and plenty of noise. They also have birthday packages available.

Beautiful place to take the family. So much to do. Nighttime racing golf bowling everything.

Had a great time celebrating a friend?s birthday. It's a great destination for parties and just to relax and have fun. Will be planning to return again soon.

Everything was great minus the gift card I recieved doesnt cover alcohol? I got a 400$ gift card and all it covers is games and good, so we had to come outta pocket by 200 bucks for drinks and now I have a 200$ gift card idk what to do with.

Nice place, good selection of games and prizes at the arcade. Haven't been bowling but the place is packed on the weekends. Fun for everyone

was alright, bit expensive. Go kart was a joke was not fun at all if you want headache and bodyache on top of whiplash go have at it. Took my son he is 3 supposed to be fun but some people just cant contain themselves and ruin for everyone else If you want to ride and basically just have neckache or waste of time this is for you (as its either that or every two sec the ride stops) as some ram into you or each other Could have been a better ride and for sure could have done it diffrently. Games are expen

I like there arcade it's awesome the food is super good and it's the best place ever and they should get a 5 star review

This place is loaded with stuff to do. We live their mini golf, indoor (18 holes) and outdoor (36 holes). Plus there's bowling, pool, go-carts, a huge arcade with tickets/ prizes, lazer tag, a 3-D theater, huge High Ballocity play structure for little ones, plus a few bars and places to eat. Overall just a really fun place to have in our community. By far the nicest outdoor mini golf I've ever been to. It's fun, pretty challenging and well designed from the holes to the designs surrounding them. Fun

Great place for families at a reasonable price. We went for Mother's Day and they had a great special. Really enjoyed their glow in the dark mini gold and go cart

My family had An amazing time even tho their was a bowling tournament we still had a blast doing everything else.

We had a birthday party here with the bowling lanes and it was a lot of fun. The black light effect was a nice added touch. With that said, this place so big and so busy it took us 15 minutes before we finally found the rest of our party. Nothing was easily posted and any signs were not readable. Customer service was poor and employees were rude and inattentive. If you don't mind really poor customer service then this the place for you !

We've come to coconut bowl a few times our kids LOVE IT never had any issues with it today we wanted to take are kids bowling and got out next to this older couple who Apparently wanted to teach me about ?bowling Etiquette? who wanted me to have my children wait until her and their partner to do their turns. I kindly held my tongue and wen tip to the counter and spoke with this young gentlemen and explained the situation to see if we could move to a different area that way we don't interrupt the couple sin

My family always enjoyed it.

I want to watch a friend in a pool tournament. It was very loud with all the bowling going on.And the kids running around was a little distracting for the pool players. staff was friendly.

Celebrated my daughter's 8th bday here today. Suggestion to others would be to get there early... Place fills up about 1 and gets really crowded, really quickly... Best part for us was the bumper cars hands down. With laser tag a close 2nd. Sorta goes without saying, place is a kids idea of heaven. She had a great day as her friend did too.

1/6/23 Don't take your kid to the go karts. I was riding with my child when we were hit multiple times from behind from other drivers, then when we got nailed really hard from the back the third time, they still failed to stop the rides to get my son and I safely off. I had to basically scream and even then, they didn't really listen. My child is 3 years old. They are supposed to press the button (which they have multiple of) that stops all the go karts for literally things like this. The teenager working t

This place is absolutely amazing it was our 1st time going and we where kinda confused but the girl at the counter was very patient and answered all of our question my kids from oldest to youngest all had something to do even my husband had a blast we where there for hours and had no complaints even had food there and it was not bad will definitely be coming more often as there is much to do favorite was the go karts

A real good place to stress out. With a all day pass you enjoy to play with everything and how many times you want.

A little of everything, 3 mini golf courses, many bowling lanes, large play structure, many arcade games, snacks, bar. Employees are friendly and the place is clean and maintained well

We love the high Ballonocity. It's such a great play place for small kids and $4 for an entire day is wonderful. I like that we leave and go back. I was bummed the air was off last time and the balls weren't flying all over. Still fun even I fit down the slide.

This is a good place for kids but found it pretty shocking how much of a super spreader this place could be. I saw so many people with mask down, no sanitizing tables, etc. Whats the capacity limit. It was saturday nite and packed. Scary! I'm back on Sunday evening 2022 and mask are a rarity...itsme itsme

Great senior bowling rates on weekdays and veterans get free shoe rental. Plenty of pool tables. Miniature golf is nice but higher priced

Something to do with everyone in the family. We saved the best for last go karts. They have food and drinks including adult drinks.

We love this place. Brought our five year old here for his 5th birthday which was a Tuesday. Bought the unlimited passes got to do everything. The were having a bowling tournament but we got to play after an hour or so. Other then the bowling and the pool tables no one was really there. There's ton of things for kids to do. The food here iit's also delicious. At first we thought the prices were high but when you taste the food the prices are good. Good serving sizes also. They have laser tag, black light mi

Played indoor golf but i didnt like it because theres no one policing up the teens. Had a group of teens walk through the middle of our game and kicked our golf balls off the course. Then i had 3 hyper kids running through the middle of our game. I guess anybody can just walk back there. Wish i could get my money back or another game of golf with my son.

It's good but kind of expensive for a day pass and the arcade is really limited to how much you want to spend.

I played an arcade game, and I was supposed to win a prize, but the machine didn't let me receive the prize, and the staff didn't do anything to help me receive the prize.

Pool, bowling, games. Fun for all ages and generally always has space at pool tables or Lanes

We had fun at the arcade. Everyone had fun. Games are cool some classics and some VR games. Place is big to where there's room to play. The ticket booth and prices are quality.

I had a pretty fun night tonight with my boyfriend :) we spent 20 dollars tonight and ended up winning about 700 tickets. There are several claw machines but none of them really had anything worth spending credits on. The photo booth thing requires 28 credits. I liked the Yahtzee game and the skeeball. The candy claw machines had weird candies. The walking dead two player game was pretty fun. I plan to come back :)

I love it, I think I have more fun than my kids.

I came here on my first date with my boyfriend so we decided to come back for our 6 month anniversary. When we got there the board still had the $32.99 weekday special but when the cashier rung it in it said $115. Apparently when there's a school holiday they don't do the special even though we're not kids. There was no sign anywhere about this. There was only a sign saying they had the special. That is so unprofessional.

This place is fun. It can be quite expensive, and parents be warned that your kids will have to drive their own go-kart if they are 54" my girls were very unhappy about this because they didn't want to drive.

Showed up ready to spend money for a family of 5. It was Football Sunday and they weren't even willing to try to find a game for us. Just kept saying they were in a transition with TV providers. They could have at least tried to look for a game instead of just saying no without even trying. Super dissapointing.

My Grandson and his friends had a ball at Coconut Bowl. It was over 100? outside, but it was cool and comfortable inside. My Grandson bowled a strike, which had to be scored as a spare. We didn't care, he knocked all the pins down at once. I had a beautiful grilled chicken salad, while the boys had pepperoni pizza. What a fantastic day!

My son always has a blast and I'm happy he's having fun.

It is an excellent place to have fun with friends in a pleasant family atmosphere and the food there is acceptable.

Very disappointed. I brought my grandchildren here before and it was about 30.00 for each child and they could do unlimited . Now I brought 5 boys and payed 35. O0 each. They could only do 3 things!!! Wow,and dinner was 90.00. won't be back for those prices. I'm surprised you will stay open with those prices. Good Luck.

Fun! Cheese pizza is a little gross but there's other options!

Great place to take the kids and have a beer. I would say relax but come on its a fun center and it's supposed to be exciting and rowdy. The kids love it, games, go carts (indoor and out weather permitting outdoors), wild island is there in the summer for water fun. They also have laser tag, and skee ball for the older crowd. Do some bowling and play some pool. A little of everything to keep people entertained. The food is good but it's not a five star restaurant it's always fun at the coconut bowl.

My wife was harassed for bringing in her service dog. She was asked multiple times if he was a service dog wearing his service vest. And had her personal medical condition questioned as if it was necessary to have her dog with us. Absolute disgrace on Coconut Bowl. Leave your patrons alone that have service dogs. We are trying to live and be normal without you making a scene questioning people. Don't you have better things to do.

We went to Coconut Bowl during the week while we were in Reno for my mother's birthday. We paid less than $60 per person for an all-day pass. We bowled a few games, went to their arcade, drove the cars, played lazer tag, and we went to their virtual movie/game. That was $60 well spent. We had a good time! Next time I'm in Reno, I'll be back. We had a blast! I would love to celebrate my next birthday here as I'm a big kid at heart.

Really good place for everybody so fun

Great place for kids, had a blast in the jungle gym and the arcade area! They also have indoor racetrack, indoor miniature golf, laser tag, bowling, and pool tables!

It was fun but a few things I didn't care for the putting greens were falling apart. Seems like the ball bounces a little to well. Also the go carts our cool but seem to be lacking any kind of speed or acceleration to make it fun

Okay, yes I am an adult, but... We didn't have this stuff when we were growing up! A must go to place. A Chuckie-Cheese for adults and children. You have to ride the Virtual Reality rides even if you are an adult!

We had fun. The western 3D ride was our favorite

We went with our staff for a appreciation day. We bowled and did the action theatre. It was a fun break in our busy. We had a blast, and are planning to do it again.

Friendly FAMILY atmosphere. GLOW BOWLING! Where kids can be kids, and have fun with Mom, Dad and the whole family!!!

I know people who love the place. I think I was just too tired to fully enjoy it. The food was good. The event with my coworkers was fun because we were able to kick back at this establishment. I'm happy we went

So much to do! Miniature Golf,Bowling,Arcade,Motion Arcade, Go Carts,, Kiddos can earn tickets for prizes. Adult relax area and food and beverages. Also you can great Birthday Parties w/ wristband

Today I had the opportunity to enjoy coconut Bowl for my daughter's birthday. I did not buy a package, yet my family was given a memorable day filled with great activities and great customer service. Rides were in great working order, staff was friendly and and when I had a tiny issue, management handled issue so fast I am only mentioning it because I feel other places should learn from their example. Family fun, fair prices, and great adventure and fun. Maybe open other rides at 4pm instead of 5 for home

Wow!! This place is amazing!! We have teens and a toddler and we all enjoyed this place!! This has something for everyone to include the adults!!

Lots of activities and food. Family friendly place. Stay the day because it's a daylong event!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
