ClimbZone Chicago

ClimbZone Chicago

Reviews Summary

ClimbZone receives overwhelmingly positive feedback for its diverse activities (rock climbing, laser tag, bumper cars, zip lines) that appeal to kids of all ages. Staff are frequently praised as friendly, helpful, and attentive, though a few reviews note rare instances of poor service. Many highlight the spacious, fun environment, though some mention high prices. Cleanliness and minor maintenance issues (broken tablets, harness problems) occasionally surface. Birthday parties are generally well-regarded, but a few report disorganization. The venue is considered worth the cost for the entertainment value, especially with memberships or weekday visits to avoid crowds.

Customer Reviews

Clean, friendly, colorful, and amazing. The staff were thee most perfessional at all ages of workers and there was plenty of walls to climb. Honestly, couldn't have a better time.

We recently celebrated my son's birthday at Climb Zone, and to be honest, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The facility itself offers a great variety of activities, but what truly made the experience exceptional was our host, Tyrell N. Tyrell was incredibly professional, organized, and attentive from start to finish. He always seemed one step ahead, and whenever I felt unsure of what I should be doing, he kindly offered guidance or helpful suggestions. Thanks to him, our group stayed on track and everyt

A great for kids who love adventure; rock climbing, zip lining, jumping and ready to take challenge. The cost of fun activity starts from $29.99. Weekends are usually crowdy; i meant to aay really crowdy. So, choose weekdays, if possible. They have cafeteria too and the place is clean. Staffs are friendly.

Our school (kdg-4th grade) went and we were the only ones there!! I was very happy!! The children had a very good time. The team members were very helpful and kind too. The concession staff was nice and the food was good and the place was clean.

I wish I would have known about this place earlier! Kids had an amazing time, super friendly and helpful staff. Little more expensive than I'd like but they do offer memberships if you live nearby. My kids are 4 year old twins and they were able to even drive the bumper cars alone! 5 stars all around. Didn't try the food but not opposed to try it next time.

Just attended a party and it was fantastic place to be. I love how it was spacious so it did not feel so crowded or overstimulating. Even though my kid did not climb anything but stayed in soft play area, it was cool to see all different types of unique climbing areas.

If you are paying for bonus save your money. if there is a party going on, they will prioritize the birthday group for all rides. We had our kids in front of the line to ride the bumper cars. They waited their turn. They were next in line. They let our kids on and then made them get off. I understand birthday parties are on a tight schedule but we arent going to be here all day either. everyone is paying the same price to access the same rides. Figure out a better system. It's bs.

Love this place. It's so much to do for the entire family. We especially had a blast at their New Year's Eve celebration. It cost a bit more, but you had access to all the attractions. The food is pretty good, too.

This place was so much fun and worth every penny. The staff were amazing. There was one particular employee who saw my daughter getting nervous on the high ropes and was up there within seconds calming her down, making her laugh and getting her comfortable. He supported her the whole time she was up there. I was so impressed with the staff. We can't wait to go again.

Really nice and fun place. My children like climbing and it's convenient to have a soft play for little children. Though it would be great if the place had a referral discount. I referred at least 2 new families to buy the membership there.

My great nephew had a birthday party here. Lots of climbing type of activities to do. Both kids and adults. Had an excellent time.

Went on a rainy Saturday afternoon with my 3 kids ages 3-8yrs old. Even though it was busy there was plenty to do and there were no waits to climb. They had an awesome time. The place is stroller friendly which is nice also. 2 hours was more than plenty to do the climbing walls and soft play zone. The cons were, it seemed a little lacking with cleanliness in the bathrooms, some of the tablets to sign waivers were broken or missing, and the cost of the arcade games seemed high for what the games were.

Great for kids?? They can play there for at least 4 hours. 5-year-old children can't use the car, game machine, zip line, and laser gun, but the playground and rock climbing are suitable for 5-years-old and younger.

It was so much fun. My daughters birthday was there and she was turning seven only issue we had was with the food they were slow and messed up with the order

For the amount of climbing and activities that take place above ground level here, why is there no helmets or head protection to be seen for kids? The one percent chance of something malfunctioning will be catastrophic particularly on the zip line!! Our son had an incident today and what we got was an ice pack and someone trying to get me to fill out a form while I was calming my kid and trying to see how grave his head bump was. No one came to follow up with us. Is safety a non issue for you given the waiv

Don't book birthday parties there. Why? They managed it so poorly and they were so unreasonable and scary. Every kid only got 1 turn, at each attraction (bumper car, high rope, rock climbing and laser tag) because of extensive waiting as a big group. And they have never explained this prior to party nor at the website nor anywhere else. My young daughter was crying not being able to get on to the bumper car when party time started because the bumper car guy said he wasn't sure we paid for the bumper car ite

This place is 100% kid central for those days when your kiddos can't be outside but they have a TON of energy to burn. There are several climbing walls with cute themes, a multi level padded obstacle course, a rope-and-steel climbing area that includes a zipline high above the room, lazer tag, bumper cars (some of them are a sort of gyroscope car that goes upside down), a really nice snack area, video games, party rooms, and more. It's a lot to take in but, like I said, if you have energetic kids, they're g

Awesome place! Lazer tag was so fun! Great for birthday parties!

Staff clearly don't care about their clientele. I registered my child for camp (directly through the GM) but my child was refused entry when dropped off for camp. I emailed to find out what had happened and was told one thing by the GM and another thing from someone who didn't even identify themselves to me, so no clue what they do there. Their solution was to refund me that day's camp and the other date I was registered for (I had registered with a promotional discount) and the offer was to let me reenroll

This place is amazing and I can't believe it took me so long to find it. I have 2 young newphews and a neice and I am constantly looking for ways to entertain them. Little Beans when they were young and Navy Pier but this place blows those away. Took one nephew (7 years old) and was there for 5 hours. Place was clean and staff super friendly. Terrell helped me on several occasions with questions and our arcade card, Santi at the front desk was super nice and I have to hand it to Leo on the high ropes. Was a

We love Climb Zone! We hosted our son's birthday party here and everyone had a blast. We did the Rockies party package and the kids had a great time on all the walls and the smaller kids enjoyed the soft play area. It was the right amount of time to play in the space and then eat pizza and cake. I, as the paying customer, felt valued and appreciated for my business. I cannot overstate how much I appreciate this as I have not always had this level of service at other party places. Alex the party coordinator

Great place for kids...preschoolers and up likely get the most bang for your buck. Even as an adult kid, this place offered so much, which for the spend is worth it. There's something for all the explorers whether their soft play maze thingy, the climbing walls, high ropes, etc. The people working there also seemed really attentive and involved in their roles. At closing, one of the managers even did a last call laser tag game that included guests and the staff available. Thought that was a really nice ge

Tons of fun for my friends kiddos! Recommended spot for them to unleash all that energy and easy for parents to hang out. Eatery and drinks in house.

place is really fun and has many entertaining things to do, but one of the down sides is that the workers do barley ANYTHING. I watched 4 teenage workers sit at a table and vape. it was disapointing to see the same workers doing stuff while they sat and vaped

My daughter was invited here for a birthday party, and it was so much fun! It was very well organized and the host was so sweet and patient with the children. Compared to similar places for kids, Climbzone has been by far the best experience for me as a parent. Will definitely come back soon and recommend it for birthday parties.

We went on a Sunday afternoon and it surprisingly didn't feel crowded! Our kids easily spent 3 hours here and could have stayed longer if they hadn't worn themselves out so much! We bought the Everest Pass which though pricy felt worth it with everything it included - 3 bumper car rides, 2 laser tag games, 1 high ropes course etc. I do wish the arcade area was priced better. Games range from $2 to $4, so the $10 play card included in the Everest Pass was emptied in minutes. In the end we had $1.50 left on

Great place to go to wear the kids out!!! Pizza, pretzels and even beer is served here.

We had a great time on this place. The managers and party organizer made sure all of our needs were taken care of. The kids had a great time and only stopped by the party room for pizza and cake. That's how u know they were entertained, lol. I would recommend this place 100%. We all had a great time and enjoyed all the walls, laser tags, and other Games

Awsome place to go. It's big clean and theres a lot to do. It has a lot games and the Laser tag was soon much fun. I will defenitly recommended.

Friendly staff and great space. Plenty of walls to climb, Lazer tag and the food is pretty good.

Such a fun late afternoon hang for kids and adults. Don't worry if your littles are between 2-14 there's something here for them. No climbing experience needed, levels posted on all the walls so you know if it's easy, medium or hard. Not just climbing, a soft play area, zip line and laser tag. Did I mention there are snacks on site and the venue is available for parties. Go be adventurous!

This place is awesome, my son loved all the activities, Walls climbing, zip line , Lazer tag , bumper cars and arecade games . Food is also awesome. Staff is helpful.

Great place - awesome fun for everyone - kids will love this We tried out basic plan and kiddo had great fun with all climbs - kid friendly n safe Instructors/staff were great and helpful and were constantly on it to check if anyone needs help Parking tip : parking in the front gets full usually - so you can park on the backside where you get plenty of parking

Went there for a staff outing and had a wonderful time. The staff was amazing, the food was great and the establishment was awesome!! Thank you so much for hosting the event.. ??

We had our daughter's 9th birthday celebration here and everything was GREAT, food was amazing, very clean, Lisette and Jorby's attention was THE BEST, we have been to many parks and without a doubt I would have a party here again. thank you guys

Amazing place, never thought to find it that huge. All staff work nonstop as if they are in a beehive, professional, organized and cheerful. I highly recommend ClimbZone, especially for Birthday parties.

Fun hidden place. Staff are very helpful with gear and birthday areas

Loved it my daughter had so much fun with her friends you should definitely try it out

This is such an awesome place for climbing, zip lining, laser tag, arcade games. Kids had a blast!

My son loves it ! We got a membership which is better deal of you come there at least twice a month

This place is great.......the only thing is the kitchen closes @7 instead of 7:30 or 1/2 half hour before it closes .....but the place is definitely AWESOME ??????????

My son had a blast and we bought a membership to make use of this summer. My only complaint is their hours. I didn't realize before buying the membership that the hours are so limited during the week. Just today, would have loved a rainy day activity right after school but school is out at 3 and they don't open till 4.

First visit. Very clean, attentive staff, safety first emphasis. Plenty of space as a parent to step back and watch.

Manager rudely refused to accept groupon. Yes 3 days expired, fine print says face value paid amount will be honored by merchant. This is all we expected, however incredibly rude rude manager refused any credit. Horrible service

We have an 11 year old and a 6 year old and this is the ONLY place they both love to go to (and has been for the past couple of years). They can do their separate things, but then they always come back together to do the ropes course or bumper cars. We do the full Everest package?which is a bit expensive, but can entertain them for a full 3 hours easily. So worth it. And even when it's ?crowded?, it's so large and there are so many things to do it never really feels like it. The open wall climbing where

I've hosted three parties here within this year for age groups ranging 1-10 year old. All the kids always have a great time. People working here are very helpful and nice. Love the openness and the options of play. 10 year old and his friends loved the arcade, laser tag and bumper cars. The little ones love the soft play. And the climbing is always a good time.

The kids love it here for a rainy weekend or check out the school day off camps.

DO NOT GO, UNLESS YOU ARE ATTENDING A PARTY! We usually have no issues when we go, but this last time we had two issues, 1. Unfriendly and borderline, nasty, personnel. 2. Kept getting bump because groups of kids attending a party cut ahead. We kept waiting for these large parties to be done and complaint to the attendant, but she could care less, just rolled her eyes. I brought this up to the manager and got some attitude and feeling he didn't care also. Even though our son and friends love this place we

We had a wonderful birthday party for my 12-year-old son here last week. The boys loved the climbing & the laser tag. The facility is clean & professionally run. We were greeted & cared for by a dedicated staff member, who did great with the kids. He kept everything organized, helped the kids with everything & directed the schedule. The staff were all friendly, professional, & attentive. The manager was extremely helpful & kind, helping me sort out a small problem. I highly recommend for a birthday party!

Loved this place! We've been to it twice already and kids have enjoyed it so much. There's so much to do that it makes time go by so fast. Kids can't get enough. It feels like it's a little pricey but it's totally worth it. They have different packages to work with which is nice. Can't wait for our next trip here!

Huge. Not everything was 'on'. Very nice staff, very pricey but a ton of options

Am amazing place for kids of all ages. The price is definitely worth it. We went for my son's 13th birthday. He, his sister, friend, God mother, her boyfriend, and myself thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I'm disabled, so I only played laser tag, but I enjoyed just watching them. The girls, 15 at the time tested their limits, along with my son and his God mother, on the routes course. The zip line at the end was a great finale. We're definitely going back!

Always a fun time be it for fun or for a bday celebration. Staff is engaged & helpful along with plenty for my kid to do.

Went on a Tuesday afternoon so we didn't have to fight crowds. Good exercise on a cold winter day.

Nice clean location for kids to go play and climb. It's not overcrowded.

Clean, spacious, good prices, kids will absolutely love this!!! Staff is fun and helpful!

My 3 kids (5,7 and 8 yo) loved this place. Clean and very helpful staff. I wish they would open another location in the west suburbs as it is so far for us. @climbzone, any plans to open more locations?

How did this place acquire such a professional and caring staff? The young adults that work here go above and beyond to help the kids in the climbing area and on the ropes course. We're here now and I just saw a staff member gently encourage my child to do a part of the ropes course that she was struggling with. I cannot say enough great things. Clean, calm and relaxing atmosphere but exciting for kids!

Amazing place! Wonderful environment for families and children. We came to a birthday party and the attention was out of this world. Staff members were very nice and willing to help out with everything. The manager was very helpful and would constantly check in to make sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend it!!!

This was an amazing place! They have so much to offer for all ages! Toddlers to parents, everyone has something that they can do! The ropes course was spectacular and the walls are something else. Each wall has a different design and so awesome. Soft play looks like it would be so much fun, but we didn't have a chance to go inside. I cannot wait to go back!

Party packages are very expensive, and not worth the experience. Staff monitors how much the kids play. None of there attractions are unlimited. Kids literally gets 1 turn on each attraction in your party package. If your kids want more time to play, once your 2 hour party has ended. You have to pay an additional fee for each kid. Definitely not going back ??

Had a birthday party for our 10-year-old here, and it was amazing. Our party host was excellent, and in fact all of the staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and great with the kids. The nicest touch--one of the guests arrived late when the rest of the party was in playing laser tag, and rather than make her stand there and wait, one of the staffers gave her a card to play arcade games until the next laser tag game started. There's also a great variety of stuff here, so the kids never get bored. It is no

Lovely place. Kids had so much fun. Would have gotten 5 stars if they had a layout where parent's sitting area was by the door. Parents could relax knowing that their kids can't leave the premises without us seeing.

The place is huge and clean. There is plenty of space to roam around without feeling like you're going to bump into someone. My 5 yr old enjoyed it, was her first time, and that's all that matters.

We sent our students to ClimbZone on a school trip and it was 5 stars all the way. The managers were available and friendly and made sure all our needs were taken care of. The place is clean, brightly lit and a lot of fun! Our students and staff greatly enjoyed, we'll be back!

This place is amazing When I went there I tried to use Google pay for some reason their machines were not working at all. I had no other card There was an employee there named Juan who literally paid for it with his own card. And then let me know zell him the money the money If this didn't happen we would have never been able to go it was my kids at 7th birthday so I can't tell you how much I appreciate what he did While we were there everybody was absolutely fantastic all the staff communicated really

Highly recommend. We hosted a six year old birthday party after accidentally choosing another venue space on Mothers Day. The stress of trying to change kid birthday party venues with less than a month in May wasn't fun...hehe. My wife and I stayed up late researching so many options but so many were booked. Thankfully Climbzone in Lincoln Park had a midday reservation available so we booked right away. We had never visited before but heard positive feedback from another parent who hosted a party here for t

Drinks are pricey but it's nice they can stay so long, and there's lots to do.

I took my School Summer Camp here for a field trip & the GM Lawrence was absolutely welcoming, personable, very helpful, knowledgeable & attentive to our needs. The staff at ClimbZone made our trip memorable, Izzy the Manager as well as Nyasia & Iyonna took exceptional care of our party. The ladies were the absolute best Host we've ever encountered. Kudos to the Chef because everything he cooks tastes amazing. My students raved about this facility all the way back to school & once they saw other staff & cam

I brought my 5 year old here this weekend and had a great time. The walls were a lot of fun for him and the team was great. After he was done with the high walls I think he spent a good hour in the soft play zone and had a great time. A little on the pricy side, but great way to entertain the kids on a winter day!

As a parent I've been to many a climb birthday parties and many locations and this place is great. Granted they just opened and there's still a few kinks to work out but the staff is very friendly and helpful. The climbing walls are very climbable and pretty awesome to look at. Overall this place is fun. Fun for the whole family. Kids can climb, adults can climb, babies can't climb but there is a soft play zone for them which looks pretty cool. And on top of all the climbing, laser tag and bumper cars and v

If you have young kids, this place is like a fantasy land, with so many areas to climb and play. Between the climbing walls, play structure, bumper cars, laser tag, arcade and party rooms, you could spend hours there, which is a great way to get kids active. But you will pay a steep price for it (about $15 per hour). Adults can participate too, but it is kid-centric so don't expect to have any "big kid" time unless you want to rent out the space. The staff was friendly, even under conditions that I would co

Amazing place! My girls, age 10 and 7, loved it. We spent three hours there this past week, and the kids can't wait to go back. I had the pleasure of meeting the general manager who was extremely welcoming, and you could tell they were passionate about being there. Highly recommend that you visit ClimbZone.

The staff here is incredible. They are never standing around; they are constantly walking around helping kids with harnesses and very friendly. I have been impressed with every person who works here that I have interacted with over our many visits.

Rock climbing walls are creative and cute, could add a few more that are a bit more challenging for the older kids. Decent arcade and laser tag. Bumper car space needs to be bigger or remove a car or two. Food could use tad bit of upgrade. Service is hit or miss in being attentive to kids climbing walls (where lock and key sometimes jams in getting them out of the harness). For price point and location, should get minor face lift in some of these regards mentioned.

Last year, (2022) was the best, I remembered my kids getting the ultimate package and being able to do many things without a limit. Now, 2023 it's the same price but not unlimited, I was wondering why there wasn't many kids as last time, it's bizarre. I would rather pay a little extra for unlimited versus the same money as last year with less things. I won't come back. This was our last time here.

The facility is nice and the kids will have fun with it. BUT I'm writing the negative review because of the very terrible customer service. If you run a facility for kids, you need to have management that is easily identifiable and reachable. These people just don't care and that's a problem. UPDATE- 2 weeks later and still no response. This is a warning?these people do not care. I will not be allowing my children to frequent a place that is so obtuse.

We've been to a few birthday parties here, and I'm honestly so impressed with this place. The kids always have a blast, and they run children?s birthday parties like a well-oiled machine. Pizza is satisfyingly mediocre (you know the stuff). Exactly the place to let your kids burn off some steam in the middle of a long Chicago winter.

Pretty awesome place to bring your kids on a rainy day to keep them active. Only down side I seen was the kitchen staff, I literally was watching my trays of food ready and served on the counter top for almost ten minutes while two staff members where discussing their personal life problems and drama, realizing I'm waiting for my food because nobody would bring it to the table they continue with their bickering and drama and after they want to ask where my table is like just give me my food. I'm not here to

So much fun, for little ones and adults too, very open and so far pretty clean, a good exercise for all. We will be coming back for sure.

My first timing attending with my son and we had an excellent experience. The general manager blessed my son with access to everything for free and I appreciated very much and will like to say thank you again. We will definitely be returning.

Love this place! Been multiple times. Perfect for young kids up to teenagers. You can spend an entire day here easily. They'll get their energy out and be entertained. On-site food is a big yummy plus. Can't wait to go back.

The zip line according to my 8 year old was fun. Lazer tag was the one of my first and best experience along with bumper cars for my kid

I had so many questions! A young lady at the front desk, I believe her name was sophia was extremely helpful and explained each every pro and con of package to me so so well. Great customer service through out the place. I plan to bring friends next time!

This place was great. Reasonable price and the kids had a good time. Clean and lots of things to do! Would recommend!!

Went in to book a party for my grandson's birthday and came out disappointed. I have the 10 child minimum, but have to purchase the same play package for all. Unfortunately some like heights, others like games, and some are too young. Now I have to purchase everything a la carte and can't celebrate with a birthday cake.

Firstly the staff go above and beyond to help accommodate you in every way possible, they were all amazing. Especially the manager. 2ndly there is so much to do it's hours of fun my kids enjoyed climbing most of the walls, they rode the bumper cars and some of the spin n flip u around. They also serve beer which was a plus for me.

Our NFP hosted a semi-year end event for homeschoolers and it was a success!!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
