diner by day, sports bar at night. Friendly and courteus staff. Was seated immediately for lunch. We were the second group to enter for lunch so it was mostly empty. I had the catfish plate with a side of fries and collard greens. Our food came quickly. The fried catfish was very good, the fries seemed like they were left over from the night before. The collard greens while tasty, were slightly over salted. I recommend this restaurant if you like sports bar quisine and don't mind TVs being a little bit dis
Today was the wing special day so we gave the Buffalo Wings a try. We also tried an appetizer, chicken fingers, and the BBQ sliders. Everything was tasty and the sausage, cheese, and pickle appetizer was fantastic. The waiter was friendly and attentive. Pro tip: they offer a Military Discount which is greatly appreciated!
We happened to see Classic City Eats as we were driving, and could not resist giving them a try. They did not disappoint. The hot chicken sliders and burger sliders were both really good. This is definitely one that we will visit again. Shout out to Drew who was amazing and treated us like family.
Classic City Eats is worth a visit for those interested in Southern dishes, sandwiches, and salads. The restaurant itself utilizes an open seating plan inside along with an outdoor picnic area. Service is wonderful, and the food is well seasoned and delicious.
I had a crazy hankering for some good fried catfish, so I went online to a local group and asked for recommendations. A whole lot of people replied to me with suggestions from all over the area plus some that were not so close by One of the closest places was the one restaurant that was recommended repeatedly. Headed out a little past lunchtime today, hopefully to beat or to miss any crowds, I remembered on the way that our local newspaper does not put out a Monday edition so I decided to swing by the libr
Great catfish! Fried perfect with light batter! Lots of white flakey fish. Wonderful dining room with lots of TV?s. Fish and fries were cooked hot and fresh after order placed. Had to wait a few minutes before it was brought out to table! Lots of other items all cooked to order! The waitress was great! Wonderful time celebrating Daughters Birthday!
We love BBQ so we decided to try yours via DDash. The pulled pork was good with a nice, natural smokiness- but we got NO sauce. Pulled pork isn't really bbq without BBQ sauce, so, we regretted trying it. We chose 3 sides; the fries were good, the mac'n'cheese was kinda dry but ok, & the mashed potatoes were so drowned in gravy that I could've drank them. Overall, we're pretty unimpressed, but understand it may have been an "off" night. Will likely give this place a 2nd chance & hope to adjust my rating
Some of the best pizza I've ever had! I was surprised how fast I was seated since it was so busy. Very friendly staff and overall great atmosphere. 10/10 recommend.
Great food, great service. Excellent, friendly restaurant. I especially liked the delta catfish plate and the smoked sausage, pickles, and cheese appetizer.
Amazing atmosphere, chill vibe and overall a fantastic time. It's affordable, it's delicious and the portions are really good. The drink prices aren't terrible either! I had a Paradise on 15 with a JD?s Philly pizza to share with my boyfriend, and the fried pickle spears & sausage, pickle and cheese appetizers. The food was well seasoned, presentable and divine. The drink was well made, neither overwhelming or lacking flavor. It was perfectly made, and beautiful. My boyfriend had the sweet tea to which he r
This is my 3rd time eating there. The fried chicken was not good. The sides were nothing special. Better chicken at Publix. Over priced.
Fantastic food, overwhelming portions and a fun atmosphere. Athens' loss is Watkinsville's gain. Catfish is delicious, the Bar B Q covered fries are fantastic.
We had a great dinner at Classic City Eats for my brother in laws birthday and Drew the manager made sure that it was a memorable evening. The entire staff is friendly and the atmosphere is perfect for a fun time out with friends.
Excellent spot to relax and enjoy some southern hospitality. Menu spans southern favorites, pizza and traditional bar food. Well stocked bar.
Great food, great service we eat here once or twice a week! Go give them a try!
Very clean environment, good atmosphere. Good food, everything made fresh. The side portions were a little small. Server was friendly and attentive. Good place to have lunch.
Enjoyed the chicken livers this visit. Good hamburgers, catfish and fried chicken as well. Good selection of sides. Nice place.
This place is great the food is delicious and the staff is great! We love the pizza and wings they are delicious.
We throughly enjoy this restaurant. We frequent here Thursdays for karaoke with the family or date day or night to watch a game. Love love the sliders and really love the drink they have Georgia punch. Trust me those are great picks!
Crew always does everything to make your visit awesome! Food is always dy-no-mite!!
If your looking for a comfortable, family friendly spot for some of the best pizza and comfort food this is the spot. Quality food, great staff, and place is super clean. Highly recommended.
I ordered takeout. When I arrived it was ready, that rates a 5 all by itself. The staff put it my car, too! All the way home I was tempted but waited. The aroma! The fried chicken and all the sides were absolutely delicious. You really cannot top the chicken.
Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. My first time and it want be my last ????????
Overall great food, with the Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursdays having half off select plates. I got the full catfish plate for $7, hard to top that goodness
The BEST fried chicken I've ever had! Unanimous approval amongst all of our guests when we ordered a 20 piece family meal. The chicken was supremely juicy, with the most delicious, perfectly seasoned and crispy crust. The sides were just as phenomenal (we ordered collard greens, mac n cheese, fries, and hush puppies). Our to-go order was packaged well and everything stayed hot and crispy on the way home.
Loved the atmosphere! The wings were phenomenal and I could not have asked for better service. I Sat at the bar and the owner was actually there and made sure everything was to my liking. The server made it known they have a credit card fee (which is normal for most restaurants now) but I appreciated them letting me know. I will definitely be back.
Great place ! Good food ,great people and excellent atmosphere ?? Tell Amy I sent you!
Unfortunately my husband, son and I walked out today before being seated along with others. While waiting to be seated we saw only two waiters who seemed very stressed, and a very packed dining area with numerous dirty tables. Customers at tables got up and started helping clear and sanitize tables for customers to be able to sit, because the wait staff was so short. Unfortunately this is not the first time we've seen short staffing at this restaurant, and long wait times after being seated. It's very disap
@Kristan Berryman, we apologize for you waking out. We had two employees call out and in this day in time, that is just something we have to deal with. We were not customers but family stepping in to help until management arrived. Both owners showed up asap to help and that says a lot about their concern for customer service. We hope you will give us another chance because yours , as well as all customers, experience and satisfaction is extremely important to us. Can't wait to watch the game there and eat s
Stopped in here Friday night, 10/20/23 for my first and last time. Had a few drinks and the Delta Catfish meal. The fish was fair, yet the fries and hush puppies appeared to be cooked in old, dirty oil. The hush puppies were so small and burnt, they were inedible. I did not complain to the manager as I was hungry, and we were ready to go. Unfortunately, my wife and I had the dough bites with beer cheese as an appetizer. We both were up all night with bad stomach aches - presumably due to bad cheese. Would n
The place was nearly empty with the exception of a couple of Monday evening bar flies. Was greeted promptly, but after the initial greeting it took forever to order our food, then receive it. Paid $70 for 21 wings that were over cooked and under sauced, a cold basket of fries that were no bigger than a side, a side Greek salad which was actually pretty good, and a soda. In addition to terrible extremely overpriced food, they suggested that I tip on top of sales tax and a credit card transaction fee. When yo
We had a great time here today watching the TN/GA game! The service by the young ladies behind the bar was fantastic as they kept up with everyone serving food and drinks at a steady pace. The food is fantastic, especially the pretzel bites. This was our second time going here and first time for a sporting event. We highly recommend!
Have eaten here a few times and the food has been mostly good. Service is good and the servers are attentive. I would just say that the owner should refrain from putting in political commentary into their responses to reviews. I have read some of the responses the owner has done in relation to comments about the cost of a meal. We all know things cost more. We don't need a political lecture from the owner as to their beliefs why. Maybe the owner should educate himself, as he told a customer, as to why thing
Wanted to find a great place near Watkinsville to watch the Georgia game on Saturday. The bartenders and waitresses were great the whole game and were very helpful all game. But at the conclusion of a rough game for most of the people in the restaurant, that's when our experience took a bad turn. Nothing short of a profanity laced tirade started by what I now have come to understand is the owner. She was clearly over intoxicated, and started to lash out at her bartender for the whole restaurant to hear. Wh
This has became one of our FAVORITE places to eat when visiting, thanks to my Aunt & Uncle! ?? Service is absolutely amazing! Everyone is always so sweet and speaks! The food is delicious and CONSISTENT everytime we go! Hope to see you guys in a few weeks ????
Was ok. Special mention for the guy who was our server, who answered all my questions. Plus, a decent draft beer list. Fried catfish platter was very good, with the hush puppies being an especially tasty surprise. Wings might have been seen as good if we were expecting a smoked quality - which we weren't. Will go back again, which tells that I didn't HATE it
I can honestly say that the atmosphere was great. Friendly staff and delicious food. I got the catfish and it was so good. My mom took my husband and I there for our anniversary and we had a very good time. I will be eating there more often. Thanks for the great and awesome customer service
Bit high on appetizer prices, but food was good. We love the fried chicken and the smoked sausage. The collards, green beans, and Mac n chz are delish. The fries are over seasoned and salted for my liking. Our server was great and very personable. Every appeared to enjoy being there at work. That's a huge plus! Lots of space, lots of TVs, kids game room, and clean!
Friendly service for sure, loved the atmosphere, and the food was killer!! Highly recommend any wings and definitely the hush puppies! A much needed addition to Watkinsville, I'll definitely be returning for the food. The only downside I have experienced is wait time. Stopped by for a late lunch in the middle of week, plenty of open tables and staff, but it did take 25 minutes for us to even get a water and then 2 hours total of arriving, waiting to be served and getting the food. A bunch of my friends said
So glad to have a quality restaurant in the area that not only has great food but great customer service. I've had fried chicken before and tonight I had chicken livers and both were excellent. The waitress we had was great and one of the managers/owners came to the table and went out of his way to make sure we were completely satisfied! Great atmosphere and friendly folks!
While their premium service and quality come at a higher price point, Classic City Eats delivers value that surpasses the cost. Clients receive an outstanding experience that justifies the investment.
My wife, two kids, and I went here yesterday evening for the first time. It was right at 6PM on a Saturday evening, but even though they were busy we were seated within minutes. We usually enjoy an appetizer of fried dill pickles, but this time the fried pickled jalapenos caught my eye. I promise that if you like fried pickles, you should try these! They were great! I had the catfish and my wife had a pork BBQ plate. Both plates were very good and we had plenty to eat and share with our seven year old
We love the food and the fun atmosphere! Drew the manager is amazing!!
Food was good, once I received it. Took a long time (over 30 minutes) for chicken fingers and pulled pork. Seemed to be well staffed, so I don't think that was the issue. Once it arrived, the food wasn't cold, but not hot either. I think I may have been forgotten for a bit. In contrast, my to go order (also chicken fingers, placed when my order came out) was out in less than 20 minutes and was streaming hot through the styrofoam container. First time I ate here it was soon after opening, they didn't q
This is a great place, had a lovely dinner! Staff very nice, we had a party of 12, everything was very efficient, chicken tender meal with collard greens and mashed potatoes was on point. Will definitely visit again the next time I visit Watkinsville.
Food was amazing. We had the burger sliders and buffalo chicken sub, and both tasted so good. Price was fair, and service was great. The restaurant was pretty empty at 5 on a Saturday, so more people need to go here!!!
Great place. Come here several times a month for lunch. Food is consistently good and portion sizes are plentiful. Service can get slow at times when it's crowded but nothing too bad. Buffalo chicken sub is huge and the catfish plate is amazing.
Finally! found good catfish! Sides were good, too. Potato salad, slaw, hush puppies, fries. Will definitely go back.
We had the fried chicken, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes as takeout for six people. We called in the order and everything was ready when we collected it. The chicken and coleslaw were great. Best fried chicken in the county. There was nothing wrong with the potatoes, but only ordinary. Everyone was friendly and Covid-19 standards appeared to be taken seriously.
Our group of seniors went from Madison county and there was about 35 of us. Unfortunately for the owner she didn't have enough wait staff. Prob as a result of ?no one wants to work?. Anyways, we had to wait quite a while on drinks and food but I had the chicken finger salad. It was phenomenal. Thank you Amy.
Classic city eats is one of the few places that I like to eat at because you get your money's worth of food and it's always very good. I have eaten there several times and the end result is always the same. However I feel as if the waitresses should check on the table just a little more than they do expecially if they are not crowded like today other than that it's a great place to eat at.
Relaxed atmosphere and very courteous staff. We ordered the chicken tender plate and a pork/bbq flatbread. Both were very good. They have a nice beer selection, and several from local breweries, as well as a stocked bar. They also have a nice game room with several different types to satisfy most folks.
Good food. Lots of fun. Lost money in the coin slots of the arcade machines tho. They didn't refund me
A nice addition to downtown Watkinsville. Multiple choices of beer on draft, which is appreciated. Chicken wings are actually smoked 1st before they're fried, which was a surprise (just not a good one). Fried catfish platter was very tasty. Our server did his job well. We will go back, just won't get the wings!
I went for lunch and the food was great. This was my first trip to this restaurant since it relocated from Athens to Watkinsville. It's clean and spacious. I ordered BBQ pork and my friend had chicken livers. We both enjoyed the meal.
This is a little honey hole amongst an otherwise wasteland between Greensboro and Athens. It is a nice family place that has good and reasonably priced food. It also has a little arcade area for kids. The arcade area is secluded to the back so it doesn't disturb others. Great place.
Extremely friendly service and good food! We stopped in on the way back from vacation for a bite to eat and to just rest a minute. Glad we found it, we will be back again for sure!
Tonight (Saturday 6:20pm) there were only a few patrons (3 other couples) The waitress informed us they were out of fries. We asked if they could be replaced by hushpuppies or fried okra. She asked the manager, and we were told there would be a $5 upcharge. Food was mediocre. Waitress was good.
Awesome pulled pork sliders! The BBQ sauce was excellent as well. Everything was good. I will be returning soon!
The atmosphere is completely bland but the fried chicken is top tier without qualification. They tell you it takes half an hour after you order, be patient. If you are visiting from outside the US I will probably suggest we go eat Fried Chicken here.
I phoned in our order and was told 25-30 minutes. After an hour and 15 minutes, 45 of that waiting at their bar, I was finally given an apology instead of food. Guess we'll never know if the food is good but the business is definitely full blown government level fail. Won't be back, ever. If offered a credit or something to offset the huge waste of time might have been willing to try them again but nope. Roll the dice, maybe you'll win!
If asked what the best Athens/Oconee area restaurant is, I would say CCE. There isn't a bad thing on their menu, but the highlights are their incredible fried chicken that is cooked fresh to order and the best catfish I've ever had that didn't come with a view of a Louisiana bayou. Their Saturday brunch is also worth a visit (I recommend the grit plate), and they have an impressive selection of local brews on tap. Service is stellar from a wonderful and friendly staff. 6/5 stars.
Ordered chicken sandwich & it was supposed to have cheese with side of ranch & it didn't have either. Asked waitress & she had to bring cheese separate. It was only a chicken tender on a bun. Pricey food. Good karaoke on Thursday nights.
Great selection for lunch. Catfish were really good.
We just happened to find this place as it was near where we were in Watkinsville. We were not disappointed. Drew took excellent care of us. The food and atmosphere were great! We will definitely be back!!
Couldn't be better! Great atmosphere and the staff is amazing. Food was delicious and prices were great! Please consider liking my review and pictures. Follow along on all my adventures. It's All About the Adventures!??
Great service, clean, new place. Loved the Delta catfish dish, fries, hush puppies and slaw, but the pork was BBQ pork was dry. Next time we'll try the sliders.
Great family restaurant. Even built-in arcade, so bring your quarters. Sides need some work, but meals are good
Ordered by phone for pickup, entire order was wrong. 2 sliders nothing but mustard was correct what I got were two hamburgers with only mushrooms. Ordered a veggie calzone what I received was a calzone pepperoni and mushrooms. Highly disappointed
We were greeted as we entered, and our food was promptly served. Unfortunately, my chicken livers were scorcher. The rest of the food was good.
Formerly Champy?s, but now under wonderful local ownership. Same place, better menu, and even better food! Even though their fried chicken is second to none, I can't turn down their southern fried catfish! It's the best I've ever had! If you haven't been, you're missing out!
The ONLY thing I can say negative about this place is that the booths are uncomfortable if you are under 6' tall. Your hamstrings rest kinda of uncomfortably on the end plank. Food is very very good!
First time here. Had the catfish. Spectacular. As was the sides. Great place and super friendly
Great atmosphere fast friendly service large portions overall great experience. I heard about this place on a UGA sports podcast they recommended it. It was worth the drive over. Thanks to UGA Sports live with Coach Donnan & Radi for the recommendation.
The food was fantastic. Our wait staff was overly busy--had to ask for napkins, then salt, forgot to refill drink. Nice casual place, just need more help.
A great place to eat! The atmosphere is really nice and the food is delicious (lots of great southern food, definitely try the fried green tomatoes). The waiting staff were really welcoming and the food was reasonably priced!
Sausage, pickles, jalapenos, and cheese. What's not to like?!
Really liked the food. I had the catfish and wife had chicken liver plate. Very goo
Ordered on DoorDash for delivery on August 26, 2023 - they waited 45 minutes and for the driver to get all the way to the restaurant before they cancelled the order. Rude. Cancel it immediately if you can't fulfill the order.
The BEST wings. So good. Love the new french fries, too!
We love this place! We eat here several times per month! One of our favorite "go-to's"
Lunch with gkids ages 10 and 12. They loved gameroom and grandson loved sports decor. Good food pleasant atmosphere.
Good food, reasonably priced. I enjoyed looking at all of the framed UGA players' pro football jerseys. If love to check it out on any Friday evening or to watch a UGA football game.
Food is always good and service is great even when lunch got busy. My only negative is music is so loud that I find it hard to hear what others are saying.
We all loved the food about 25 of us old people ate this day. Planning a trip ?? back to Watkinsville, Ga. I ordered the Cat ?? was very tasty!
Service was excellent, food was prepared and tasted great, prices are reasonable. Would have given a five, but would like to see salt, pepper, and rub shakers cleaned.
I usually do not like catfish (I prefer flounder) but after trying it at Classic City Eats, I FELL IN LOVE!!! My wife had the BBQ, and it was also fantastic!
Catfish awesome. Great service, great staff. We really enjoyed the the entire experience. We stopped in our our way from Evans to Buford GA. Highly recommend.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
