So far this has place is my favorite place to take the kids.. we've been to a lot of centers for kids and so far this one has been the best by far it's the perfect size I love that they has mini golf. But my 2-year-old did get a little scared..since it's blacklight.. since he's never seen it before but it's actually really cool.. bowling and your pinball....different arcades and claw machines.. air hockey is just awesome I definitely appreciate the concept and the cleanliness. The staff is super nice. I
It's new and clean. Not too overwhelming. We were looking for a fun easy special night with a 6 year old and this place was perfect. Easy to get to, easy to park, easy to play a few games in an hour. Bowling and mini golf looked fun. We'll probably go back and try those another night. The kid even felt satisfied to get one little toy with his tickets and save the rest to add up in summer. The glow party room looked fun.
It's a great place to get the kids out of the house. It is very well maintained, the bathrooms are clean, and the party areas are large enough for a big party. The games are consistently working (unlike lots of other places where the games are always broken) and there's a good variety of things to do. My 6-year-old loves it here; for $25 bucks, we can play games for an hour or two, depending on the games. He loves getting his little prize at the end of the trip, even though it usually goes in the trash a co
Clean place, very fun and colorful machines, I'll definitely be coming back to try the glowing mini golf course!! We were pleasantly surprised by the relatively low cost of the games. We're just a couple of adults and it was a great time, my favorite game was basketball connect 4 (they have some fun pinball machines in the corner too). I really liked the Atari Pong one as well ~ it's not just a screen, there are physical components that move around! They also have play-til-you-win games that I'm excited to
This place is outstanding. We had kids ranging from 4-14yrs old in our party and they were all easily entertained. The facility was CLEAN and all the games were great. My 4yr old was able to utilize the bowling alley with her cousins. The staff was on point. I mentioned that one of the crane games was not working to my daughter and a staff member overheard me and he immediately fixed it. The staff at the ticket counter very patient with my family as they decided what to buy with their tickets. As other peop
I decided to stop by for the first time today to check this place out. They have mini bowling and mini putting that I haven't tried yet. I was there mostly for pinball. They have my favorite game which is Attack From Mars! I had a question about it so I emailed the contact address and got a reply very quickly! I look forward to coming back to play more pinball!
I take my 3 year old son here all the time. He loves it! The games and environment are definitely more toddler friendly than something like dave & busters. Just want to provide an update. Google hours are incorrect and say they open at 10am but apparently it's 2pm. The person I talked to on the phone was also very rude about it when I called.
While I appreciate the cleanliness of this establishment, it really irked me to be "run out" by employees cleaning the floor& tables around me and hour before closing time. I've worked in a lot of places where tables & floors had to be cleaned and the general rule is to wait until customers are no longer sitting or using area so as not to make them uncomfortable. They not only lost an hours worth of additional play, but a return customer as well.
Is really big there the games are good. The best arcade place I've ever been.!!
The place was clean, the staff was chill. There are games a plenty, the bathrooms very clean and the men's had a baby changing station inside. The mini golf course is dark. But they have cameras and staff inside. They also use a card system and some games do take cash.
We go at least once a week with our toddler. He loves the mini bowling so much, and my husband and I love the restored pinball machines conveniently located right next to the bar ??
such a fun arcade in san diego. this was my first time back at city fun center at their new location after my recent visit back in 2018 (at their former location in miramar). i had a blast playing arcade games & so much more
I grew up going to Nickel City as a kid so I love that I'm able to take my child and play arcade games. A lot of the games are are super high tech and so fun!
The glow in the dark mini golf is really fun!
City Fun Center is a new, nicely built, and clean facility. But when we visited, the games were constantly malfunctioning or in error states. We had to return to the front counter to have our cards refunded 5 different times over the course of an hour. Really kills the fun and momentum when you have get customer service constantly. And all of that comes at a serious price premium. My son loved the Fast and Furious racing game- $4 per play! $14 for 9 holes of indoor mini golf! Simply not worth spending hundr
Great local arcade center. My son and I enjoy it here! Wish they had more classic Arcades like Time Crisis, Killer Instinct, Galaga, Donkey Kong, TMNT, etc.
Stopped here after hearing a new arcade open, and missed the old Nickel City in Carmel Mountain. It must be the same ownership under a different name because they had Nickel City ticket rolls in some of their machines. Super clean place and polite staff. Played for a little over a hour on $25, which I would say is a pretty good deal. Great new games as well and good pinball selection.
Clean, friendly, and well maintained! Arcade games, mini bowling, and mini golf. Plenty of parking. Definitely worth a visit!
Came on a Sunday afternoon, it's really nice and new and has a positive vibe to it. Great area out front to get drinks if you are so inclined, $6 pints and $16 pitchers. $50 in game cards lasted two children and one adult 90 minutes... Most games are a dollar, there are some classics in back that are $0.50, and several that are much more (laser maze, mini bowling). Ticket redemption values are really high though, so the kids had fun feeling like they had a lot to spend, with lots of good options, even at lo
Aranet <600 with doors open; 800 closed. We attended a private event yesterday and my kids had the time of their lives! There is a huge variety of games there and they're all new and working properly. I appreciated the varying difficulty of the games and there were plenty of easy claw machines to make my little kids feel like winners. They left with a bag full of goodies and big smiles. The owner is truly a good human being. He agreed to open his arcade for this special event for an underserved community
Went on Saturday night with my Fianc? - we are both in our 20s. We were worried it was going to be more of a kids place, but we saw lots of age groups there. Doesn't run on Nickels anymore like Nickel City, sadly. We had a great time though! Wasn't too crowded, employees were kind, good variety of games
We stopped by mid-week after work and it was pretty empty, a good time for couples or those trying to avoid a lot of kids. It's a medium sized arcade reminiscent of the games section of a pre-covid amusement park like Boomer's. I felt the cost per point was a bit high, but considering recent inflation and me being especially frugal it's probably not that unreasonable. Food prices were a little too high for me, especially since In-N-Out is just across the parking lot, but the options were pretty good and th
Absolutely fantastic arcade. I never write reviews. Great value in food and super fair arcade prices. The owner is extremely kind, I genuinely wish for the absolute best in success for this arcade. I will be coming back school some kids at mini golf soon. Even greater is that some games are GUARANTEED wins. Seeing kids smiling winning candy and small plushies is super wholesome.
Me and my Fianc? had a blast here on Sunday! So much to do and see. We even got to play mini golf. The highlight though was just how friendly and attentive the staff and owner was. This made the experience much more enjoyable. Making me already wanting to go back, but everyone must seriously try the snow cones there. They are so amazing and unique. Needless to say we will be back! ??
Just stopped by today for the first time, it was very clean and had great games. My husband and 3 kids were in heaven. I hope this place will stay on top of the cleanliness and not get run down like the trampoline park next door because we will continue to come!
A great deal overall. This is much better than the Staples that used to be here. I hope that this place is successful.
I coordinated a teambuilding event for work. Steve was amazing - so friendly, helpful, and patient. I had never been before and when I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. The place is immaculate. I couldn't get over how clean and tidy the place was. And our party host, Gia, was perfection. The team had so much fun. The indoor mini golf was a blast! I can't wait to go back. Yay!
Nice selection pinball machines that work great! Beer on site
I've taken campers here ever since it was nickel city. It's fun for the campers. They give out a decent amount of tickets. I took 5 campers today. Got them each $25 worth of points to play with. Some games are 10 points others less and some more. Just be aware of how many points each game costs because they can go fast. One of my campers won 3,050 tickets. He knew which game gave him the most tickets for the play. We were there from 10am-11:30am. Plenty of time to play and get prizes. I last visited before
Great experience hosting my son's 12th birthday at City Fun Center. Plenty of fun games to keep the kiddos having fun and the staff was top notch, helpful, and friendly. Can't wait to go back.
Took the kids for a nite out. They really enjoyed all the games. The mini bowling was a lot of fun. Side note, right next door is In-N-Out so u can grab a double-double.
New arcade looks nice - visited on 5/25. You can play a lot of games for $20-$25 with your kids and pass an hour or two. Glad Poway has an arcade around, not much like this in town.
Awesome place for my kids to have fun. Grateful for this business in the area. Facility is clean and spacious. And good customer service. great place for kids to have fun.
We were so thrilled with our experience! Its so clean and great service!! Steve and the entire team made it the most fun party ever! Im so happy you reopened and highly recommend for parties!
Great clean place. However, 4 stars because they close the two big bathrooms down super early and leave a single person (family) bathroom open for the entire building.
Best arcade around. A $20 card gave my son 2 1/2 of play on games that all gave out prize tickets. Well worth every penny!
Great place with friendly staff. Pinball machines are well maintained and played great.
So awesome that we have this nearby! This place is so awesome. Games are fun, everything is straightforward. It is SO CLEAN, everyone is friendly. It just checked all the boxes for me!
Great place for the whole family !! Great prices and the food is good too.
Awesome NEW arcade! Games are reasonably priced, lots to do for all ages, even adults!
Fun, lots of stuff that Chuck-E-Cheese doesn't have
had a great time with the family, the place was nice and clean. Great atmosphere, we will be returning.
Best arcade in SoCal by a long shot!! So lucky its finally opened??
Great time, love supporting clean, well run, affordable, independent businesses like this.
My boys had so much fun with some of these new games
Fun place, friendly employees!
Great place to take your kids for a couple hours!
The staff was super friendly and it's really clean!
Birthday party for my grandson was lots of fun
It was fun it's mostly for the kids.
Amazing place for the family
Kids always have a blast !!
Do you have a Punching Machine game?
Very clean and cared for by an awesome staff!! Wide variety of games and amazing prizes!! I'll never go back to chuck e cheese or Dave and busters!!!
What a great arcade! It was so much fun there was lots to do! A whole lot of different games for all ages! The mini golf is absolutely awesome! And everything is so clean! 10/10!!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
