We had lots of fun and we will come back for sure. ?? We love the Metallica pinball most but also table hockey is much fun ?? the employees super nice and there is a welcoming atmosphere. Prices for drinks are in our opinion a little too high but they have great options on snacks.

Fun night. Tap wall was great. Nice selection. Food was good. Pin bowling was a blast. Skee ball, basketball, pin ball, games? just all-around good times. We'll be back next time we're in town.

I love that you can choose your beer or wine at your own pace! The games are reasonably priced, making it a great place where both kids and adults can have fun together. The relaxed atmosphere makes it even more enjoyable. I'd love to visit again!

This place is pretty great. The games are numerous and in OK condition. Fees per play from .50 to 1. The open tap concept here has the same problem as elsewhere, you will spend a lot more than you think you did. I don't like that model, even though it is fun to taste a variety of things. I'd come back for games but skip drinks.

Had a blast! I love that after 9pm the younger adults gotta leave. Grown fun. Great drinks, good food, great prices for the games. Just a good vibe. I will definitely be back! #birthdayparty

We had a girls night out and this was the perfect venue. You could choose from a variety of beverages with clear pricing and at your own pace and taste. The games were plentiful and food surprisingly good. I'm looking forward to my next outing here.

For my wife's birthday we came here with friends. The front desk associate was kind and helpful. It was our first time there, and they glady explained to us how their system works. The tap wall was cool. The games were great. The food was tasty. Street parking is limited, but Norfolk has plenty of parking garages within decent walking distance. I do recommend!

Had a great time here. How you pay for things can be a little confusing at first, but they explain it to you at the front. Evidently the beverages and arcade games are paid for separately. The duck pin bowling is also paid for separately. The arcade games are very reasonably priced. Everything we played appeared to be in good working order, with the exception of the basketball game which had only one ball. We didn't have any food on our visit and weren't even sure how to order or get it. We also wished they

My husband and I had so much fun! A real blast from the past playing old arcade games and bowling. Had issue with our game card and the customer service was fantastic. The food was good too.

Great arcade and bar! Lots of great drinks on tap (beer, wine, cider, hard sodas) that you can pour yourself, and lots of great games at a good price! Everyone was very friendly and I had a great time here. Highly recommend! Be sure to stop by during happy hour for an even greater deal.

Beer tap lines are not cleaned. Had a regular lager that I've had before that tasted sweet. I had a regular Guinness that tasted sweet. Won't be drinking beer there again. The fryer works well and the games are good. Love pinball.

So much fun! Games are reasonably priced, alcohol drinks expensive but had a great time anyway! Definitely will return!

We started coming to circuit when our son was only 1 and have been coming once a week for the last 2 years. We love how kid friendly this place is while also being a place where us adults can have a drink and relax! Through the years our son has explored the games we grew up on and now has favorites and will say ?pow!? all the way to the arcade because he wants to play super mario and ?pow? the turtles haha. 10/10 recommend giving this place a try

This spot is a real good time, especially on a week night when it's not too packed. Tons of games to pick from. Tons of beer to pick from (I loved the bourbon barrel quad). Duck pin bowling is a really good time. Only complaint was there no Street Fighter 2 Edit 8/8/23: Went back and found SF2 in the Multicade machine thing they have there. So yeah, this place has it all now.

Great Atmosphere and Fun Games! Circuit Social Arcade Bar offers a fantastic blend of entertainment and socializing. The arcade games are a blast, with a mix of classic and newer options that kept our group engaged for hours. The atmosphere is lively, and it's perfect for a night out with friends. The drinks and food menu are solid, with a variety of tasty options to choose from. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can get a little crowded on weekends, which sometimes means waiti

My husband and I stumbled upon this place while in Norfolk, VA for our Valentine's Day. It has a bunch of retro video games, Skee Ball, Duck Pin Bowling, and a wall of Beer/Wine Choices. There is a limited food menu, but the pretzel and queso were delicious. There are non-alcoholic drinks available, too. Under 21 is allowed until 9:00, then it goes to 21 and older. The atmosphere had a good vibe with a good mixture of background music. The best part was the reasonable game prices starting at 25 cents a game

This place is heaven for those born in the 70s - 90s during the golden age of the arcade. They have a great selection of classic games, pinball, skiball and duck pin bowling but also some newer games too. They're kid friendly during the day. I think anytime before 9pm. I took my son and we had a great time. The staff was super friendly and very helpful! We'll definitely be going back.

This place is always a good time. The duck pin bowling is great we had a blast with our free games! However the drink choices for those of us that are alcohol free is severely limited and the food was overcooked, just a pretzel, and took forever. If your want to drink beer and play games then you are good to go.

Got a chance to attend a special event at Circuit Social - such a cool wall of beer with tap cards, then every retro arcade game or pinball you could want. You have to check this place out. Their wings and pizza is also very tasty. Such a fun venue!

BEWARE!!! This place was fun BUT someone decided to give themselves a $6 tip. They control your tab at the front. It was my first time here so I didn't know how things were so I asked a friend later who comes sometimes and she told me that is definitely NOT right. You pour your own beers and there's no options for a tip. Please beware of charges on your tab.

Went for New Years Eve Special with our boys (6 and almost 8). They loved the skee ball, football and Packman 4 player game the most. We also played a couple of games of Duck Pin Bowling as well. The beer selection was pretty good as well. You pay by the ounce so I was able to try a few without getting an entire beer. Overall it was a fun evening.

Such a fun place! Went for the first time with my boys last weekend and April at the front was so very helpful, kind, friendly, and energetic. My youngest was not the easiest on arrival cause loud noises and new places make him very nervous but she took initiative and did everything she could to ease him in. My oldest was having trouble with one of the games and I'm assuming who was the owner came over and helped him out rather than watch him struggle or ignore and just warmed my heart. Y'all are doing grea

Relaxed and fun place if you love Aracade games such: as Donkey Kong, Pac-man, Frogger, you know, the game we 70s babies grew up playing. Let's not forget pinball machines. Lawd. A wall of a variety of beer on tap sold by the ounce. Fast foods are an option: flatbread pizza, wings, etc. Snack and reg drinks. A relaxed and fun spot for all ages. There is an Age restriction after 9 pm for 21 or older. I can tell it gets crowded on the weekends. So if that's your fun, have it. But, if you are like me, enjoy

So much fun! I grew up going to arcades and having one of these for grown ups is what I've been missing! Not to mention the literal wall of beer and drinks that you can help yourself to is always a benefit! Cannot recommend more!

Great drinks. Great games. prices makes you feel like a kid in chuck e cheese in the 90s, Before they became basic. Was an amazing date night definitely recommend

I had an awesome time here! Lots of the old school arcade games, skeeball, basketball, driving games, shooting games and over 30 wines, ciders and beers on tap!! Where you can embrace your inner child!! Definitely going back!!

I love the collection of arcade machines, both old and new. They've done a fabulous job restoring and bringing the games they have to life. Duck Pin Bowling was quite entertaining as well.

This place is great. So much fun. Atmosphere and staff is top notch. Beer on tap can get pricey, but the experience overall is great. I've been twice now and will definitely be back.

This is one of my favorite family friendly hangouts, great for the parents or beer enthusiasts or any retro game enthusiasts. We had an absolute blast ?? playing DDR , skee bowling and trying different drinks. ?? they have a wall of ciders and beers and even sangria! The portion of cheesey fries for 9$ was a little disappointing , but hey that's Shrink-flation.

Consistently inconsistent. Sometimes we'll come here and everything is awesome. Sometimes we come here and wonder how they're still in business. You never know what you're gonna get on a given night. Sometimes they close early on a whim but don't warn you when you come in and swipe an arcade game with numerous plays. No backsies on those lost games. The chicken wings and the tenders are great. The self-serve beer wall has a fun assortment from all over; but it seems like the ones we want always have some

Great selection of games and the poor your own beer is the way to go. You never have to wait for a refill.

Corey is a great host, I came in wanting to watch USA wrestling and he hooked up the tv connection and helped us out, great guy I love him!

Circuit Social is a very well thought out business. They met every need from entertainment to food to energetic atmospher. I've been to Dave and Buster's before but Circuit Social has a more relaxed vibe to it. The self serve beer taps were really convenient and the games were beyond affordable. Thank you for opening up in Norfolk!

Circuit Social is absolutely amazing! Great selection of beers and others on tap, and a perfectly curated collection of arcade machines. 20/10, would return repeatedly.

Brought family from out of town for some family fun! We all had a great time, lots of fun for a little money. Food was decent and fairly priced, although a limited menu we all found something we liked. The desert pretzel was delicious. We got to enjoy a free game of duck pin bowling by going to the website and entering our emails. Overall a good experience and would recommend.

Awesome place. The whole serve yourself thing was great and really smooth. The huge beer wall was super fun. They have TONS of games. I didnt get to try the bowling but everyone looked like they were having a great time. Definitely going to come back here with friends and family!

We came here tonight for a birthday and had the best time! Make reservations for larger parties ans go early to take advantage of the great games... it fills up fast on the weekend evening.

We had great time here playing Duckpin Bowling & the arcade games. Plenty of beer, ciders, and mead to chose from. It was a fun place for a great night out.

It's ok. I'm glad it exists. It's like a bohemian or goth coffee shop in the 90s had a child with a Chucky Cheese. I like the girl with all the piercings and the r2d2 mural is absolutely incredible.

This was my first time at Circuit Social in VA and it was an amazing experience. My fiance and I went after 9 so it was adults only which was really cool and once we got inside the atmosphere and vibe was a 10/10 and also a fun place to bring our kids earlier in the day. We had interactions with about five members of the staff throughout the night from check in to kitchen to floor members and every single one of them was super helpful and polite and walked us through anything we needed. If you are looking f

Had a nice time playing games, even got free bowling which was very cool

Staff was friendly and helpful. Awesome selection of games, and duck pin bowling was a blast. The beer and cider selection was great, but quite pricey. Overall a fun date night or hangout

It's not too bad. Kinda small, nice little old retro games, DDR wasn't working or mortal combat, so it was a bit disappointing, lots of beers on tap, if that's your thing.

This place is very fun. The games are all $1 or less from what I found and prices for food and drinks were all very reasonable. I love the part of Norfolk it is in. They do have a charge for getting a card of $1.25 or so.

Had a great time at Circuit Social with my wife and friends. The games brought back some nostalgia and was more fun than just standing at a bar. The beer taps are nice, but can be a bit too convenient as it can get pricey quick! All in all, a great place for something different and fun.

I normally don't review places online, but after two horrible experiences back-to-back at this Circuit, I would be doing the public a disservice by not writing this review. I have spent lots of time in various arcade bars, including the Circuit in Richmond, but this is the worst arcade bar I ever had the negative experience of wasting my money at. On both my visits this month (July 2022), the hostess at the front desk was extremely rude, to the point that she rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed at my grou

A place to have a blast by playing the games from the 80s and 90s for the same price from back in the days. Keep an eye out for what you spend on drinks as it is not included in the game card, just a tab holder. Duck pin bowling was fun!

Really cool place to being visiting friends. They have a very large self serve beer selection that charges by the ounce. The games are reasonably priced too. Haven't tried the food but def a cool place to kill a couple hours.

Visited for the first time and was not impressed with the person who helped check us in. She spoke very quickly and put money on our game card then had us pay, before we realized we paid $40 for just the games. I feel she took advantage of the fact that we hadn't been there before and didn't explain things for us well enough to let us make decisions. Games were underwhelming, probably wouldn't go back but we have over $30 of game credits left and it can't be refunded. My husband also said he wasn't drinking

Nice atmosphere and great game selection. The self serve beer is what shines for me. My only negatives are they have only one kiosk to order food, no other way to reload or check game card balance, and the check in/out lines get lengthy which goes back to needing the self service. The very lovely associate Ax is very helpful and explained they have a good team there ready to make changes though.

So much fun. Some of the gun games weren't properly calibrated so that was really sad.

It's a fun place. An alcoholic arcade always is. The alcohol is good and so are the choices. I'm leaving a two-star review though because the main thing should be the arcade side and a lot of the games are out of tune. Specifically any of the shooting games have not been calibrated. The aim is a good 1 to 2 in off.

First visit was last weekend. What a blast from the past and their prices to play from the past were awesome. Helpful staff, very clean. Great beer selection, loving the local flavor and support. Didn't eat so no clue how the food is. We will definitely be going back.

Awesome time, helpful staff. Great old school games, good crowd and clean!

A great venue to socialize with friends and family. A new edition to Granby Street and Downtown Norfolk that's well worth a visit.

Great experience. Cold beer good good lots of games

What a fun place! Didnt have much time as we didnt know under 21 had to leave at 9pm on weekends. We will be back!

Honestly, takes the 80s Arcade experience and turns the know all the way to 11. An easy way to play the arcade games of your childhood, enjoy some great tunes, have an Amazing A++ pretzle and a large assortment of serve yourself taps of your favorite beer. On top of all that, play Duck Pin Bowling: it's like bowling if Canada invented bowling!! Cannot recommend this place enough.

Fun for a date night! Great time with Friends to have a great combination of both games and alcohol mainly beer! Variety of tap beer from which you can choose and drink and play quite a lot of games.

Friendly staff , clean , a decent place to have fun, social distancing was definitely going on. Two thumbs up for that . Ahhh real retro games , loved the atmosphere. Will be back when I'm back in town

I have been visiting Circuit Social on and off for years now. It's such a great spot to hang out in the afternoon to evening. There's lots of classic games to choose from like Mario Bros, Burger Time, Gauntlet, to semi newer stuff like the Original Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero! For those not interested in cabs there's air hockey, mini bowling and basketball too. One of my favorite things about this spot is the way their card system works. You load credits to your game card but it can also work in

Loved this place! Super affordable. Love the tap wall and old school games. Hubby and I played Halo for hours. Lol

Great food. Great retro games. Great vibes. Great pricing. Check it out!

It's a decent arcade. However, a lot of the machines are poorly maintained, several of which are inoperational, but will still accept payment. The beer wall is cool, but outrageously priced, a pint of beer can run you anywhere from $5-6 a pint for the cheap stuff, to $12-15 a pint of some of the more high-end beer.

I usually go here with friends and have a blast. One time they took their kids and we all had a good time while the kids did too! Yesterday, I took my niece here and the owner (?) and the employees were super helpful. Some of the machines were wonky but they always looked out for us. She and I had a blast! This will probably be our Saturday thing for the Summer.

Friendly and fun atmosphere! I always enjoy myself with the throwback games and music.

This Place is such a great Gem and they have so many games to choose from and a fantastic pinball line up to flip on!

I can't not stress how professional this business was to ensure our party was a success. My sons graduating class of 28 students wanted to have one more day ?hanging out?. I worked with Maureen who ensured every detail was perfect. The package for the kids included unlimited gaming, a couple of pizzas and wings. Maureen also provided the option for a buffet for the parents (shrimp, high end sandwiches and fruit). We had over 60 people-parents and kids all enjoyed it. We rented both rooms which was gre

Very cool hangout place offering a wide array of local and craft beers. They have a good selection of games and food.

Always fun. Bowling was great, beer selection is abundant. The munchies and pretzels we got were good. The staff is super helpful and very nice.

Finally, I made it to circuit social and I absolutely love this place. All of my old school favorites are at this place from double dragon to blitz 99 and nba jam. I love the poor your own beer with 48 drafts to choose from

First time visit on a Saturday afternoon. Lively and fun. Classic arcade games available as well as a very unique self serve beer wall. Will likely visit again.

Love the self serve wall! Bowling is super fun and all around a great place to hang!

Really neat place! If you grew up going to the arcade and have missed it, this is the place for you! We brought along our little ones and friends and we all had a blast. Most of the games were a little advanced for our youngest, but she found a few she still enjoyed. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. There is a self serve area with a variety of beer and I did see some wine. They sale food as well. I highly recommend checking this place out before going somewhere like Dave and Busters.

I love spending my down time here . Such a great way to chill and have a little competitive fun with others.

Coolest arcade really good for late nights if you're 21+ lol. They've all the retro games you could want and food that's the perfect munchies.

Soo fun & cheap I would definitely go back! Would most likely skip the self pour wine & beer option as the total was more than expected?too pricey for a glass but other than that loved it !

Our family of four had a great time! We enjoyed the food, drinks, and especially the games. Our money went a long way! We can't wait to go back.

Super fun retro video game bar. Most of the games were operational. They use a single card, kinda like Dave and busters. They have more than just arcade games. Things like ski ball, old school dome hockey, plenty of pinball machines, and mini bowling, which I'm terrible at. They have a large beer selection where you put your single card in the wall and it credits your tab as you pour, so if you are interested in trying a few things, it's perfect for that. I didn't try the food but it sure smelled good. Burg

Great place for family fun!! We love the duck pin bowling. The taps were great!! Great selection of arcades!!!

The only great thing about this place is the games. Give me an old fashioned arcade, and I'm a happy girl. Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming, except the flatbread, and the beer is a complete ripoff. As someone who has professionally poured beer and knows the accurate taste of the beers that were poured, we were scammed. The beer was watered down and no matter how you hold the glass, you will get 1/3 beer and 2/3 foam (head). I get the appeal of the ?self serve? beer, but this place would GREATLY b

For the prices that they charge, they need to update the arcades. A lot of them are falling apart and in a very bad state. This Could be a go to place in Norfolk.

This place was pretty unique with the self-serve draft bar. Pretty nice selection of local and national drinks. You get charged by the ounce, so if you suck at numbers, you'll get blown out on the wallet, lmao. Never have I seen Chardonnay on... tap... absolutely trashy, left me smiling. Thanks for the visual jokes. The arcade, ahaha, embarrassing state. Amusing set of classic cabs, pinball machines, a few modern. Barely anything is taken care of. It is absolutely comical, the state of most games. Loose st

Lots of fun. Reminds me of a dave and buster's. Pretty cool spot to just chill out and relax. Family friendly but the beer wall takes the cake

This place is awesome! I was expecting to only spend a few minutes here killing some time, but ended up having a blast and staying for 1.5hrs +. The games are reasonably priced and the self-pour beers are fun!

Went there on 15 June to celebrate my bday. I read all the complaints but decided to see if all the kinks were potentially worked out since they'd been open for a month or so now. I loved the place. Hot dogs were great. Beer selection was great. Beer prices were totally in line with other 'pay-to-pour' concepts, actually a bit cheaper than Decent People Taproom. The staff was awesome. They were knowledgeable and helpful...totally opposite of the bad reviews you read. And I like the card concept for

Been here a few times so I'm editing my review. Every time I've come I've been welcomed by friendly staff. The food has been hot and fresh, and the games have never disappointed. Great place to host a holiday party for your work! I'll be back

This was the coolest place! The owner was super sweet about everything. He helped us out when we had a small emergency. The staff was really sweet and the overall experience was amazing. The beers and food were good! If you're thinking about coming here, do it! This is my new favorite spot??

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.

Are rhythm games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, rhythm games in arcades are a vibrant hit in 2025! Titles like Dance Dance Revolution and Beatmania deliver high-energy fun, blending music, movement, and precision. Modern machines boast vivid displays, booming sound systems, and diverse song libraries, from J-pop to EDM. They challenge reflexes and rhythm, with competitive leaderboards and tournaments fostering a lively community. Arcade dance floors are regularly packed, proving rhythm games’ immersive, physical thrill keeps them a standout in today’s gaming scene.
