Chuck E. Cheese

Chuck E. Cheese

Reviews Summary

The reviews show a mixed experience. Many praise the fun atmosphere, especially for kids' parties, with some highlighting excellent hosts and the value of unlimited play options. Positive mentions include enjoyable games, decent pizza, and good customer service in certain locations. However, frequent complaints cite poor management, broken or outdated games, unhelpful staff, and disappointing food quality. Issues like dirty facilities, missing Chuck E. appearances, and lack of communication during parties are recurring negatives. While some families had great visits, others left frustrated, calling it overpriced or poorly maintained. The overall sentiment leans positive for entertainment but is dragged down by inconsistent service and upkeep.

Customer Reviews

We took our grandsons to celebrate a 5th birthday celebration. Food and endless salad bar were delicious. Lots of games to play. Option of per game play or time to play makes this an adorable play time for kids.

Love this place, especially during the week. Not too busy, good deals on game cards and food. Pizza was really good and we got to see Chuck E! My three year old loved it!

We went on Wednesday and got 1hr playtime cards (for $20 each) through kiosk! After which we noticed that they have a deal (for $14) posted in drink area (which is very hard to notice) that is lot lesser than what we bought. When asked about this to the front desk staff and manager, they responded saying they will not tell unless someone ask them or they won't promote it directly. Neither helpful nor friendly staff! She also refused to compensate or do anything for the higher price we paid! We felt cheated!

Family went to eat, we ordered alot, bought game packs. Only problem was that it was closing in 45m. The poor young lady didn't say anything, the on shift management didn't say anything. Only till we picked up the food was when it became an issue. "WE HAD TO LEAVE, IM SORRY WERE CLOSING. HE MADE A FEW CALLS, THE GM SAID NO". NEXT TIME PLEASE MENTION THAT YOUR CLOSING IN HOWEVER MANY MINUTES. MAYBE WE WONT ORDER AND GO ELSEWHERE. YALL LOST SOME CUSTOMERS.

Took my son for his 3rd birthday and the one pizza I ordered (basic peperoni) took 45 mins and then they didn't even tell me when it was ready. I just went and found it myself.

My kids (8, 6, 2) love this place! It's not very cheap, but always use an online coupon and buy gift cards and Sam?s to save! We wish that a salad bar came with a pizza order and not a separate $10 each. (The hand dryer in the bathroom is too loud, it scares small kids).

Food is really good, Kids have so much fun, great for birthdays

If you are looking for a not pricey place and good service this is the place to go. Birthday packages are cheap and your kids will have fun.

We came here because my daughter begged. The cashier didn't listen to what we ordered, so I had to get back in line and reorder the second pizza that I ordered the first time but the cashier didn't charge us for. After an hour, we still have no pizza. We asked why and we're told they were having problems with their oven. We asked for a refund and they offered us two free salads instead. About fifteen minutes later, the pizza came out. It was hot, but flavorless. Not a good experience.

Food was actually pretty good and the games were awesome for my kiddos. The only issue is the atmosphere. It used to be fun and full of joy but it was quiet, the music was so low and didn't match the environment. I wish it could go back to the Chuck E. Cheese mascot walking around and engaging with the kids with music blasting on the dance floor. My experience there was no mascot or music. If they could just work on that it'd be perfect!

Over priced and service was horrible. Pizza took to long and super under staffed. Will NOT be taking my family there again. Oh and so many games were out of service

I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness, punctuality, and service from the Lubbock location. It is definitely well managed and maintained. I would highly recommend. Staff were so friendly too. I didn't catch the young girls name but she was awesome and danced and played with the kids also. 10/10

Mesha's customer service was outstanding! You all have the right person greeting guests as they enter and taking orders. The kids had a great time playing the various games. I was actually impressed by the stuffed crust pizza. It was tasty. Great Saturday outing.

Took the grands to play in the arcade. I really liked the assortment of games and rides. They had something for all ages.

It was my babies first time here, my mother came in to town for their birthday and wanted to take them somewhere fun. It was clean, there was only one other family that was here so it wasn't busy. It was during a weekday for lunch. The games are fun, there's something for everyone all ages. And they decorated for Halloween very nicely. The pizza was delicious and the crust/bread was soft. I wish they had more options for the salad bar, but it was yummy.

Great place to take ur children...alot different from the Chucky Cheese I grew up on .. but still had fun with my Son

The pizza was awesome. Fresh and wasn't a long wait. The price was a bit high for what the pizza was but the flavor melted that away. My kids enjoyed their open game room. It was clean. The restrooms well maintained. Will be back definitely

Seemed a little dated but most probably are. Our cookie cake took forever but was tasty. Wished it had a playscape like the one in Round Rock. Skeeball is the worst. 2 tickets. :D

This was my first time here, and it was a BLAST! The employees were awesome, super nie, and very attentive! The games were so fun for the babies, and the food was delicious, although it took Sooo long to come out. For it only being 3 pizzas, it took 1 hour after we had already had this party scheduled, and then they forgot 1 pizza, So that just took that much longer, so that's why service got only 3 stars. All in all, it was definitely fun.

My granddaughter turned 7, and she wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese. We had a party pkg, food and cake included. It was moderately busy, 3 birthday parties. Ours started at 12:30. Staff was nice and efficient. Our birthday girl has 2 sisters, one younger and one older, they had lots of play time, and could play games, and get on rides easily. It was a fun day, all of us played games to earn lots of points for the girls! My only disappointment in the day was my gentle, calm youngest granddaughter, she's 5. She

It was ok my Kids had fun ages 2,7,9 but it was really small it was easy to play all the games with in 30 min. We did the one hour play pass and my 9 year old got bored

We had my sons birthday party there and my complaint would be communication from the party host. After about an hour into my party we decided to do cake and presents. The party host then came up to us and said to wait about 10 more minutes to do the party singing with chucke. I didn't even know that was a thing because I wasn't given a breakdown of what would happen during the party so I asked if there was a chance chucke could come now since I had already gathered everyone and she said we could skip it. Ob

It was really hot inside, we had to ask for everything, spoons, forks, the soda machines were not even turned on and we were there at 11 am. Lots of games were not working but still taking points off the kids cards, and nobody was available to reimburse those. Not sure what was happening but wasn't really ideal for a fun place for kids.

Horrible 8/8 got pizza and played games 15 minutes later they trashed it I had receipt circle time and they trashed it didn't remake it bull rap then a little kid was not attended by adult and hit my baby and tried taking our card they did not say anything to parents and I did not get refund for pizza very upset do not go here it's terrible terrible worst experience ever never ever returning ever

If you're looking for a job definitely do not recommend working here. Heard to many bad things about the GM and some of the managers. Also not the best place to take your children. Would recommend Dave and busters down the street great place. Too over priced some of the games are disgusting and not that great of pizza. They need a wider variety and more deals at most.

My daughter loves this place. We had a blast..??

I would have given 5 Stars but the Mouse didn't make an appearance after being there for 3 hours. Grandkids really want wanted to see Chucky. Staff was great as well as the pizza .

There is no staff really working the floor. And chucky the mouse no longer presents during birthday events. Customer service none existing. Kids do have fun there but this place needs some improvement. The game card so much better instead the tokens. And i like the idea of paying for minute's.

We hadn't been in years to a Chuck E. Cheese and this was our first time taking our kids and I'd say that over all we had a good family fun night! Food was good and pretty prompt, we enjoyed the games and atmosphere. Although I felt like they could have used more staff everyone I encountered was friendly and wearing a mask. I felt like this location was clean and informed me of their Covid guide lines while also letting me be a free person and not wear my mask.

Terrible experience. $70 for an hour wait on pizza and drinks. Our group arrived, two of us got to order while the others paid for game cards. After we ordered, the "system" went down not allowing anyone else to order food in our group. We offered to pay cash for food for the kids and they refused to take it. They also refused to refund the game cards that we no longer needed. They also said our food was nonrefundable. We ended up splitting the pizza between the kids and no adults got to eat. The coward of

My kids have never been. My daughter seen an ad and wanted to see the ?mouse? I called the weekend before to ask when he comes out. I was told every 30 minutes. We went yesterday for 2 hours & paid alot of money. No ?mouse? & there isnt many games the very few games we able to play my kids had to play over and over since we got 90 min game passes? Alot of them were out of order or you needed tokens we were never offered tokens. The screen went off chuckecheese was coming out and never did. My kiddo came out

Very nice place, nice customer service, the pizza was good, fresh buffet, the arcade was functioning properly no broken games. Looking forward to comeback again.

On October 7th, 2017... we had schedule a birthday party for my daughter who was turning 3 years old. It was suppose to be a celebration with friends and family. Instead when we arrived for our party at 10am, most of the employees were sitting in the curb. They seemed embarrassed to come and tell us the manager had not arrived. These poor employees did everything in their power to help make the situation better. Finally around 10:30 a manager finally arrived. Once inside the employees quickly got to

The old standby place to take kids to have some fun. It's still pizza and a ton of floor space dedicated to video games and games of skill and chance. Of course, it costs real money to have this kind of fun, and (in my opinion) more money than it should - but what doesn't these days? One large pizza, no drinks, and 30 minutes of games was $34. From those games the kid won 125 tickets, which got him a handful of candies. There are better ways to spend your $34, entertain a child, and not possibly foster a ga

I gotta say that since they've changed their pizza recipe I had to add a star to the rating ??. Now Granted, my family and I don't go there as often as I should to be posting a review ??, but I figured my 2 cents ???? might help someone make that last minute party decision. Oh and beer always goes good with pizza ?? cheers!!!!

The food is really terrible. The crust is so tough. We didn't get our appetizers out until after the dinner arrived. The salad bar is pretty pathetic. The kids love going for the environment though and they do have good games and there's lots of fun to be had for them.

Went early in the afternoon but it was great. Pizza was fresh and all the games worked. I took my 2 y.o. nephew and he was more entertained by the lights than actually playing although he loved skeeball. Place was clean as well.

Went to the one in Lubbock on Friday and ordered food and two, 60min all you can play cards. My kiddos were super excited to play games and played for about 5minutes before one card read out of time. I took it up to the manager and she told me she would need both cards. So I went and got the other card and waited for about 15minutes and she came out and gave them to us. She had put 45 minutes on each when we paid for 60minutes. I went to let her know and she took another 10minutes to bring me back a 60

Was very fun, although they've given into the modern era and gotten rid of all physical activities and replaced them with pointless racing games. There were still things like Ski-ball and the food that were very enjoyable. Overall a good experience, and I'd go again, but it could be better.

Good safe place for kids, mine live it.

Me and my family went into to Chucke Cheese today and we had so many questions because we had never been there before and this one young woman named Savanna helped us out with every question we had and made us feel so welcome! She definitely knows her stuff and deserves a raise!

Very nice place.. We love it!! Very clean, and good service...

Pizza was mediocre but I guess the focus when you come here is not the food. We visited on a Thursday evening and things were clean and the pizza was cooked to order. All the machines were up and running. If it is a first visit it will be fun for the young ones (4 - 8). Moderately expensive

This has to be the worst restaurant in Lubbock! We took our 3 year old son to have a good time and instead we pay way too much for games that he couldn't really play, which only seemed to pay one ticket anyways, and the food wasn't even worth the time we spent waiting on it. Food and plates were left on the tables long after other customers left and wasn't even cleaned up by the time we left. When we went to turn in my son's tickets, we stood up there waiting and waiting while the employees just looked at u

Place is not where it used to be. Changes have caused it to be a shadow of its heyday. Food was OK. Bathrooms were dirty. Most of the machines for cards are out of service. Some of the games are out of service. This is a problem considering games is all they do now. Sad day for our family.

I've been to several Chuck e cheeses in different states and this one by far was the worst. The prices are way to high. Never have I paid $80 for 2 regular pizzas and 10 PC wings. The wings were under cooked and not impressed with the pizza at all. The games were average for the ones that was working. The bathrooms was nasty. I will not spend my money here again. The 2 stars is because the greeter was so nice.

They have taken the play place out of the building. There is nothing for younger kids to do. They added a few more video games but nothing impressive. Same over priced pizza with nothing for my younger kids to do. We were very disappointed. On the bright side the pizza tasted less like cardboard - new recipe was the only change we appreciated.

Everything is just so expensive now. At this particular location, there's no cushions on any of the seats. If parents can't sit comfortably, how long are they truly gonna stay. If parents can sit comfortably, they'll stay longer & spend more money.

My 3 year old grandson loves Chuck E Cheese. We were traveling home from vacation and decided to stop at Chuck E. Cheese for a break. The venue wasn't very busy. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. She assisted me with available coupons to make the most of my money. When we went to turn in the tickets for prizes she was very kind and patient with the children.

I think it could have few better games. Games were mostly for smaller kids. Therefore not a place for all ages if you have kids in different age ranges. Pizza was great! Customer service was ?? good.

I love that you can buy a card for a certain amount of time, it is very convenient. However, I dont know what was happening but all 3 pizza we got were barely cut. Like they had a bad pizza cutter or something. Made things kind of messy.

My 4 yr old daughter had been wanting to go for the longest and we finally took her only to be disappointed that Chuck e only comes on parties. Very ?? and she cried with years in her eyes.. she literally was calling him out ,can u see me I'm here.. made me dad for her.. make plans yo be there more often cause i dont think the kids love it cause of the pizza. Thank u please take that into consideration

It was definitely not the place I remember as a child. The salad bar was not stocked at all... and caught an employee putting light ranxh in the ranch cup. Was told they were out and this is what they did. Secondly there were only 36 items on the salad bar when it stated over 40. You get what you pay for but it was 10 dollars a person. Just for the salad. Secondly the paying for time instead of tokens sounds good in theory. Throughout our time there multiple machines were hoarded by adults. This made the c

Didn't like y?all worker with the mullet hair cut she was rude today we came to eat my husband paid and I was getting me salad and she had the nerves to tell me did I pay for the salad I gave her that look yes and didn't believe me my son was trying get carrot she was rude telling him nonono and my daughter was trying get some orange she was telling her nonono my kids are so upset even the look of my daughter face upset me the most that worker telling them no I got upset and sat on the tablet and told my ki

The prices are just ridiculous. Food was bad. My daughter had fun which is why I gave 4 stars for atmosphere.

Overpriced, mediocre food and games, Chuck E. Cheese only came out once the 2 hpurs we were here and that was for 5 minutes for a birthday party. WISH MR. GATTI'S WAS STILL OPEN. $100 FOR THE #5 COMBO (2 pizzas and 4 drinks) plus and added 120 point/minute game card. Definitely NOT WORTH IT, VERY DISAPPOINTED!

The food and service was great. Everything was fine until a little boy punched my daughter

It's lots of fun but the prizes are not very good and I would almost rather spend the money to go get a new toy. Pizza is good but expensive as well. At least they have a rewards app now so I can earn something on the money spent here.

Sticky straw containers and floors. Feet sticking to the floor. My kids were told after getting their game cards at the register that Chunky (costume) would not be making an appearance today cause "he was not here today". Sound was turned down at the robotic stage so not very fun. I ordered a pizza cause the buffet and salad bar are a joke. The place smelled musty. Will NOT be coming back...for the $40 I spent for my 2 kids and myself I would have expected alot more. Very disappointing compared from

A fun place to take little and though it's not cheap it's definitely cheaper than going to most other places with games for kids. The pizza is ok but that's not really why most people go. Definitely look on their website for coupons before going so you can get the most from your money.

The games are great and the pizza is delicious. It didn't take long for the food to come out. The games are a lpt better than they were when i was a kid. But the prizes are horrible! I really wish they would have had better prizes. For as much as you spend on food and games!!!

Chuck E Cheese is SO MUCH FUN! We took our 5 year old son for lunch and he enjoyed every second...I love the fact that u can purchase game cards and pay BY THE HALF HOUR/HOUR, etc or pay with a dollar amount. U can squeeze a lot of game playing in that way?? SUPER FUN. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS ALIKE!

Sad little buffet. Commercials and advertisements show a good buffet, desserts, good pizza. We walk in and the salad "buffet" was wilted lettuce and croutons. One pizza at the buffet which was a supreme. No desserts were ever brought out. I wanted to leave but my son had already ran off to the games. Do not recommend the buffet!

horrible! half the games weren't working all the tables were dirty and when I tried to talk to employees they brushed it off and ignored me. all employees were either on phones or giving each other piggy back rides then proceeded to talk badly about me after i brought it to the managers attention how the employees were acting. will not be bringing my daughter back !

There are some wonderful staff that work at Chuck E Cheese. They made my kids feel like they were royalty. It was their birthday today and the staff went above and beyond today. Especially manager Lynn. Thank you for a great day.

It was okay. The pizza was decent... My boy had fun on the kids rides and games. Probably won't go again though.. Too pricey..Gattis way more affordable and can't beat the all you can eat buffet!!

Food was awful. Kids had fun though. Better to eat somewhere else then take the kids there.

The children had an absolute blast. The pizza was pretty good!

This place is a complete rip off. Seemed like 75% of the games were either broken or out of tickets and I'm pretty sure they had a staff of like 4 employees running the entire place and was doing a terrible job. Needs a new manager they wouldn't even tell us who the owner or general manager was to complain to. The machines give no where near enough tickets for the games compared to other places in town. We will not be back.

My kids loved Chuck e cheeses but ever since they got rid of the tokens and introduced the card it wasnt the same. I feel like its not worth it anymore. I live 2 hrs away and we always went when we were near by. The games dont cost the same. Now you spend more for less. ??

It is a great place for young children. I have had better pizza, but my grandson loved everything about Chuck E, especially Chuck E.

We through our grandson?s fourth birthday party there and we had an amazing host. His name is ICETYN! He was a perfect gentleman he offered all his help and he never let us just hang around and wait! Thank you for helping us enjoy our afternoon! We Loved It!

Very fun for family and friends to have a great time. Very pleasant place. The staff was smiling and showed they like waiting on customers. Answered questions very well and was patient with us. We really appreciate it.

WORST PLACE to have a kids party, it was our first time & our last time. Host was rude and all the employees working we're so unhelpful & didn't seem to care to have us. Our party was ended immediately without us eating cake HORRIBLE place definitely do not recommend

New and improved look. Some new games and decent prices to play games. Don't eat food much but it's not bad tasting just expensive compared to Pizza hut or dominoes which actually tase better. prizes cost more sice renovation. For example Tootsie rolls use to cost between 10-15 tickets now they cost 60 tickets.

I had not been to CEC in a while, and was surprised when I seen new remodeling done. Area is nice, new layout was nice and spacious, food was ok. Could be better, but it is affordable. Overall visit wasnt that bad. They have definitely improved.

This place is good overall. The only thing this place lacks is a person that enjoys their job or being around kids. Day in and day out, everytime I go here it is the only thing they are missing. It's clean, games are enjoyable for the kids...food is what you expect, service is okay.

The update made this place great. The food is good, the games are all priced the same (1 play), they serve beer??, and the kids had fun. The prizes still stink, but that is to be expected.

Came to Chuck E Cheese on a Wednesday. Stood in line for 30mins and waited on our food for another 30-45mins. Then to cash out points/tickets took even longer for anyone to acknowledge us. Only reason we didn't leave is because our son wanted to play games. Since Mr.G is shut down. Won't be coming back any time soon.

Employees looked miserable working there. There was no one at the entrance to stamp our wrist, everyone including myself did not recieve a receipt. The atmosphere was miserable

The "All you Can play" option that CEC has now is worth every penny. Since I'm not worried about how much it costs for each game, it feels less like gambling. There are still more games of chance than games of skill which i would love to see change.

Came out for a little family fun, was immediately regretting it. I was the only person in line for 15-20 minutes waiting to be helped. Two staff perched at door were busy chatting with friends at door and about 4 other staff doing prize counter. When attention was finally caught, 3 differenr staff all called out to one name. im guessing no one else is trained to work registers??? I placed a small order, as we were handed plates one fell on the floor, the staff member picked it up and put it under the othe

This was a sad example of a Chuck E Cheese. There were many dirty tables. The song kept coming on that Chuck E was coming out to dance and throw tickets children kept running looking for him but no Chuck E came out the children were really sad . Then let's not mention the food, Pizza was sent back because it was not cooked all the way. The Salad Bar was had empty containers, are half empty ones. I understand that the evening crew is usually filled with teenagers but management should make sure that things a

Had my daughters birthday party here. VERY fun. They had a great time and everyone had a blast. Super easy and a good price per child as well.

No. Decently clean, but lots of broken machines. No animatronic show, no dancing mouse, nada. We had to convince my daughter that he was sleeping through three "shows." Staff was certain that he would "come out" and never made an appearance, their exucse was that it wa s anew show and not all the bugs had been worked out. Food also took 30 minutes to show up, it was a pizza, nothing crazy. 1/10 will not visit again unless we find out magically that all their problems are resolved.

Mediocre at best, but I'm not a kid so this doesn't really excite me. The pizza is awful. The workers didn't seem thrilled to have a job.

Great place to take kiddos and really nice staff. Only complaint was the lunch buffet wasn't the best or kept up with much but there wasn't that many people at the time either. Still had a great time!

Great place for family on a budget. The play time was awsome. Wings were good

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
