Went for the first time because The L & M Experience was playing. They are amazing and fun musicians! No one came to wait on me, but the bartender was really fun when I went up to the bar to order a beverage. I tried the Old Irving Tropical Thoughts brew. It was very good. I also appreciate how they advertise for the artists that are playing. I'd go back.
I didn't have food, but the service was phenomenal. The lemon berry martini was amazing! Thank you for your service Octavius and Giovanni!
The owner (confirmed) came up to our table during trivia and asked if we ordered a pizza. I told her we did not but asked her if I could place an order with her as we had been waiting for over 40 MINUTES to order food, and she told me ?not right now? and never came back.
I went on a Tuesday night around 7. There weren't too many people when I arrived. It's a bar/restaurant and most of the customers were seated at the bar. They have $5 mixed drink specials on Tuesdays I believe. But this place seems more geared toward the specialty/craft beer enthusiast. I had a couple long islands while I was there which were decent. There is also 5 or so slot machines which were all occupied at one point or another (with other patrons waiting to use them.) I thought I was lucky to win $20
Play Trivia on Wednesday nights and bartenders are accommodating!
Wonderful place to stop by for a drink. The service here is very nice but when they get busy it does take a little bit. Their drinks here are very nice and reasonably priced for what you're getting as well. I would check this place out when they have one of their events going on throughout the week too!
Good place to enjoy a cocktail. They serve Rosati's or Eggspress food, have live music from time to time. Friendly staff and very clean inside.
I've been there last night. I've lived in one of the nearby neighborhoods for 15 years, and I'm not a bar person, but you'd never know how classy and special this bar is just by seeing it from the outside! I went there on a Friday- we had live music, and neither my boyfriend nor I expected that! What a treat! It was pretty crowded, actually. A couple kept on coming on to the floor and danced, people communicated with the band, and all in all we had a great time! There is also a short but delicious menu,
Cute place! Pretty new in the area. Cutely decorated, great beer list with beer tap takeovers every now and then. Great cocktails, can ask for almost anything and theyll make it for you. Great customer service!
You could easily drive to Chicago to pay 50% more for lesser quality drinks. This place is amazing with real staff that make real drinks 'the way they should be made' for about the price of a chain restaurant bar. Fresh mixes, real mint, fresh fruits- you can tell they care about what they do. Great place to have a cocktail before dinner at Ad-Lib.
Small draft list, but still a great selection for this area. Lots of good cans and bottles. $5 drafts on Mondays, but sadly once the guy who runs things steps out the girls don't pay much attention to anyone except whom they're talking to--they'll totally ignore you even if there are only 2 or 3 customers in the whole bar. (It's kind of hard to spend your money when no one is around to accept it. LOL) On other nights the guys who tend bar do a fine job, keeping tabs on you even if there's a crowd.
Not a bad little bar. It has 5 gaming machines and features a food menu from the local rosatis pizza 2 doors down. A wide variety of drinks and beers but the place just doesnt have that comfortable homey feeling....kind of a sterile atmosphere. They have table service or you can order a drink at the bar. Nicole the manager makes sure the place is kept clean and sherry thr bartender is great to chat with.
This is one of our favorite local joints. We've never had bad service here; pre-COVID we were always fans of the trivia nights (hope those can come back soon!), and Maureen is outstanding. So glad you guys have stuck around during these tough times, we're here to support you!
Service seems always slow. We had to go to the bar to get drinks when they offer wait staff.
Got very drunk here and took a lot of shots with new friends that I only have a blurry memory of. Do not remember rhe Uber ride back. The bartender was amazingly sweet and patient. I hope I tipped her well.
Nice people, but overpriced beer. We went for the Maplewood tap takeover. The brewery rep was very nice and engaging, but the swag was a couple small pins. Surprised at the end of the night to find out all the Maplewood beers were $8 apiece. Wouldn't have travelled to pay that. The food at the Caribbean place next door was very good, especially the etouffe. But we felt they should promoed the beer, instead we felt like like it was a Maplewood fundraiser.
Ladies, if your feet are hurting from wearing heels, do not, I repeat, DO NOT go to Chances. There is an unchecked vigilante waitress that does not know the difference between having a little too much too drink and just having aching feet in heels. The staff were just so rude about this whole thing. It's a shame because I used to really love this place. I wish I could undo all the promotion I gave them in the past. An oasis of all things wonderful! They feature a a perfectly curated spirit list and one of the best rotating craft beer selections around. Their cocktails are top notch (no lazy pucker infused garbage) and they have wine on draft! They are always throwing a tap takeover or some type of event and i hear they have trivia night but I haven't been yet. Being right next door to AdLib this is a must visit. Yes there are video poker machines but don't let that deter you from this gem.

Great place to try drafts, clean and good people. I wish they add a kitchen to prepare their food. Food order comes from the neighboring pizza place which I hate. Comming back to drinks, their local draft beer selection changes every week, so try something new every friday...
Best staff I've encountered in a long time. Gio & Stacey were such a pleasure to be around, even on Black Friday. 10/5 stars for these folks.
I had a bourbon on the rocks, was about a shot(covered the bottom of the glass). Wife had an old fashioned. Same, filled about a quarter of the rocks glass. Waited 20 minutes for the bill fir drinks that took 4 minutes to drink
Beautiful relaxing atmosphere. Bartenders hands down mix the best alcoholic drinks in town.

Was there for three hours for a gathering and no one came and asked if we wanted anything. Even as they were serving food around us. Even tried to order at the bar and got ignored. Never going back there again.
My favorite go toooooo! Everytime I go out and request a drink I get that whattttt stare. Chances has every cocktail I usually request uniquely crafted.
