Customer Reviews

I was in town to work and totally surprised to see this gem! I didn't have time to play today, but I'll definitely come back. The variety of games is great and the vibes are solid with reasonable prices.

A great way to spend a few hours in a small, quaint town. A lot of nostalgic games. You pay to enter, then can play all games for free. Our kids (10 & 13) had a blast, and their grandparents (64 & 74) found some old favorites.

Well worth the 40 minute drive for the day! You can pay for the day, but come and go for food etc. Will definitely be back!

We drove from Hickory to play. Well worth the trip and the price. We will definitely be back.

Such a cool place! $13 to play unlimited is a steal!

Love this place! Me and my husband played a lot of games we grew up playing as kids. As well as my kids playing theirs ?? Always want to visit when I'm there on vacation! Will definitely come back!

I CAN NOT WAIT TO GO BACK!!! ?? The family and I went as a late Mother's day present for me (we wanted to go in the middle of the week when it was less busy.) It was the best! ?? However, it was just us and a few others in their. I'm not sure if it would have been as enjoyable if it was crowded, as there is not a lot of room in between the games. As a kid from the 80s, I cannot express enough how extremely enjoyable it was to be able to play the games over and over again without the worry of having to ne

Stellar spot, good variety of machines. I've been going to arcades since the 90's, but I saw a few new machines and many old friends. The space is used well, and the lower floor includes an old foosball table. There's a good selection of pinball from various eras. I appreciated the signage indicating some trivia about some of the cabinets and tables, including a few rare surprises. I paid for a full day, only stayed for an hour, got my money's worth. Nearly all of the machines were working perfectly, which

Had a pretty nice selection of games. Was a little crowded when I went but everyone was pretty good about not hogging the machines. A couple machines I wanted to play downstairs were not working, but they also had some cool stuff I never seen before like 6 player x-men

We were in town and decided to do a little shopping and what teenager likes to go shopping so we found this cool little arcade close by that we can pay either $7 for one hour or $12 for the entire day and that's a no-brainer. The entire day is the deal to choose. This time around we got to meet the two owners and they were an absolute pleasure to speak with. Funny enough this is not just for kids. Grown adults will be transported back in time with some of the old arcade games as well as pinball that they

Just discovered this place. Way more than just a trip down memory lane! They've got dozens of old school arcade games (and a few consoles, too) with a good selection of pinball machines as well. I found most of my favorites from way back when. They even have PONG. (Yeah, that dates me for sure.) Snacks are available, too... you could easily spend HOURS in here. Thanks for the fun afternoon!

What a place! A must see, no really just go you won't be disappointed. It's crazy cool the games work and you can play them by the hour or for an awesome all day price.

Our grandchildren LOVE visiting the Carolina Arcade Museum! They were given gift cards for Christmas and we spent almost all day there today. A VERY clean and well-maintained business. They offer a wide variety of retro games. There is also a party room upstairs for birthdays and many other occasions. We have had several birthdays there. There is an area for drinks and snacks also, and other merchandise for purchase. We highly recommend!!

How can you not give this 5 stars? One flat price and you can play any game as long as you want for free! There are shooter games, driving games, pinball and maze video games. And there's a private room downstairs you could have a party in. We are making it a priority to return.

So funny to see all the old school games and pinball machines. Good music all day long. Helpful staff. Just a good time all around. Close to good food, just across the street at the copper penny.

The games are vintage so a few have issues. But for 30 plus years of age. We had a great time. We are listening to Ready player 1 on Audio book. This place help son understand about what is going on in the book.

Hands down one of the best arcades I've ever been to. I could spend hours at this place playing the arcade cabinets alone, but there's also a great selection of pinball machines and consoles. The only downside is that it gets kinda cramped whenever it's busy.

Old school games, fun, great prices and unlimited play

All the old school games pinball machines racing games hell of a place for grown ups and for kids to have a great day I think it was $8 for an hour and $13 for the whole day and if you get hungry or something you can leave go eat and come back as long as you keep your bracelet on that they give you really nice people a little tight because of all the games and the people sometimes but this is definitely a place for families friends and whatever type of event that you may want to have because they also do bi

A blast from the past, they have loads of vintage video games and pinball machines from the 70's, 80's, 90's, and newer as well as Home video game consoles set up to play. All games are free play with admission. Family fun at it's finest and the staff is awesome. We will be back! 5 Stars!

Took my two 12 year old boys here today! We had a blast. These games are all meticulously maintained and in great condition. The pinball section is out favorite and spans everything from early electro-mechanical machines to the newest releases from Stern. We love the one price, play all day pricing model that lets us try everything without spending a fortune. They continually get new games and every time we go, there is something new to try. It was well worth the 75 minute drive to spend the afternoon

This place is AMAZING!!! If We would have had this in Rutherford County when I was younger I would have been here all the time. Lots of pinball machines and old school arcade games. Pay one price to play all day or pay by the hour. My family of 3 had a great time.

If you love pinball machines and oldie games/old style this is the place to go! All you can play for really cheap! And great place for family and friends, all the machines were fun and so cool!

Had a great time with my nephew. Drove about an hour to get there. I wasn't disappointed. Loads of pinball machines and video arcade games. All on free play with a fair admission price. Already thinking about going back next weekend.

This Place is great for kids, teens and adults! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Lots of games from the 80's. My husband and son loved it!

Awesome place, with a pretty good sized collection of games from the late '70s to current. Very reasonable, $7 for an hour or $12 unlimited. They do have drinks and snacks, but you can't take them around the games - lobby only. I took a group of middle and high school youth, and myself, and we had a great time. It brought back a lot of wonderful memories playing games I played almost 50 years ago.

Very nice place with good working pinball machines and arcade. Only$17 for all day play.

Level up on nostalgia at the Carolina Arcade Museum! Blast back to the golden age of gaming with classic arcade giants like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong. Everything's on free play, so one admission lets you rack up points and conquer challenges all afternoon. They even have Atari, NES, and other consoles for a wider trip down memory lane. Fun for all ages, it's a chance to rediscover gaming's roots and ignite some friendly competition!

Mr. David is the best(The lucky owner). I arrived at noon to play my old challenge ?Fireball?. He told me it was Out Of Order. But he finished repairing another game stating that he was off yesterday so he would fix it next. So within a few minutes he fixed. Spent over 4 hours reliving my youth on many of the Older machines. Played all of the pins. This is a wonderful place in a great location near restaurants in the downtown.

Great collection of classic video games from the 80s and early 90s. Good selection of pins too. Playing Out Run really brought me back in time.

Unlimited gaming for $13 is awesome. Two floors, lots of Star Wars decor and all kinds of stuff we'd never played before.

Twelve dollars unlimted play -- all day long! This place is a hidden gem! Pinball machines. Classic arcade games. NES. SNES. SEGA. Family friendly and a lot of fun.

I usually bring my daughter here every so often, this place is fun and there's so much to after you play games! Always clean, always friendly!

The owner is wonderful and friendly. It doesn't matter if you are 10 years old or 60 years old, this place is so much fun for everyone!

Being able to stomp my teenage son in Streetfighter bc he didn't know any move combinations from 30 years ago, made this well worth the trip!! There's a Groupon right now so four of us got in for 32 dollars for all day play. Considering my kids usually blow through 100 at a newer arcade, this was a great deal. Lastly, a lot of older game arcades have broken games. This one only had like five total. Definitely will be back ~

Great place to take the kids. It was fun getting a taste of yesteryear.

This is a fantastic place to have fun for young and old alike. They do Birthday parties and it's very well organized. They keep the arcade very clean. There is a large selection of Pinball Machines and Classic Arcade cabs to play. The machines are housed on multiple floors of the building. Incredibly nice staff. Right on Main Street.

Great place to spend an evening. Huge amount of games to play at a very fair price.

I love this place. There is such a good selection of games and with just paying one base price for unlimited play, it really gives you the opportunity to try games you haven't played before! My fianc? and I love coming here on weekday holidays when we have work off but it isn't too crowded. I can't get enough Ms. Pac-Man and my fianc? loves playing Buck Hunter.

Everything was great but as I walked in a 2 year old stole my beer. Great machines, not so great beer

Great place to bring back memories of playing old and newer games. Lots of cool newer and older pinball machines, Pac-Man,Dig Dug,Galaga, Daytona USA racing, and more. Even have Foosball in blacklighted basement area

This place really brings out the kid in you! Tons of cool games, you could easily spend an entire day here!

A must stop! Fantastic way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

$12 for all day play, they use admission bracelets so if you want to leave and grab food & come back you can. Had an awesome time with the boys. Going back next chance we get.

Great time here. One price and you can play all day. Takes me back to 1985 but without the quarters ??

They have an hourly option or an all day option. if you want to leave and come back, you can do that as well. I took my older teenagers and two younger children and we all had a great time. Plenty of places to eat nearby that can help make it into a longer trip. Games were working well and tons of pinball machines.

Like stepping back into the 80s and early 90s. If you grew up in the arcade, this place is for you!

This place is perfect. It's really chill, isn't filled with blasting music like some of the other arcades (not knocking them but some of the AVL arcades are a bit too intense). Dave, the owner, is super kind and couldn't be a better ambassador for Forest City. He is what everyone wishes they could be. Our family likes to periodically go there on a Friday. It's a fair price for unlimited play. We play some games, head next door to Slims for a burger and beer, and come back to close down the place. I sugges

Both young and old in our family had a great time here! The pinball machines were my speed, the youngsters loved the video games.

This was a fun family night! The games were in great condition. Pinball was so much fun!

Amazing time for the whole family! We had a birthday party for my grandson, and we had ages 2 to 55 attending. Everyone had a blast!

Awesome place, brings back those arcade memories.

Very nice and clean arcade with vintage games that all worked. Good prices to play for an hour or all day. Great way to get lost for a while.

This place is amazing! My husband and kids wanted to visit during our stay at a nearby campground. I figured I would go along for the ride, and ended up having a blast. It's worth it to pay for the unlimited game play, you can easily spend two hours here and not even realize it. There is so much to play with including more pinball machines than I've ever seen in one place. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area!

Great place to spend on a Saturday. I will come back

Held my sons Birthday party here. Was awesome! Staff was helpful when needed, was not pushy to get us out of the space. We brought our own food, drink and cupcakes which I actually liked because we were not forced to buy their products. The party area was really nice bc it was away from the rest of the crowd. Will definitely be back

Great place to spend the afternoon. Play games you only wished you could have as a child for one low price. Everything seemed to work right and we saw the manager fixing machines promptly that weren't. We worth the money and drive. Give it a shot. You'll be glad ya did.

A great place to have fun for all generations. A blast from the past for sure!

Amazing collection of vintage cabinet and pinball games. Best I've seen and almost all of them working which is unusual! Pay by the hour or day. Went on a Friday night in the summer and it was not crowded. Felt like I was back in 1985.

We had a birthday party here and it was awesome. Adults had as much fun as the kids, and the prices are great! I only hope for more success so they can get a space bigger to have more room to walk through the games ??. Great place, and nice people to communicate with. Definitely recommend, and will be back!

A real trip down memory lane! I feel like a kid again but I don't have to keep asking for quarters! A great way to spend the day and very affordable. Great selection and the owner is always working on another one. It's an hour and a half drive for me but worth it! Keep it up, we'll be back!

Lots of fun for my whole family (ages 6-42) and at a fair price. Snacks and drinks also available at a low cost. Clean and spacious. Not overly crowded when we went on a Friday afternoon. Would recommend.

Don't let the name fool you. You can play all the arcade games. We didn't have to wait to play. There are plenty of games to chose from. There are even old consoles games to play. I'm glad I decided to give it a try. I will be going back for some more play time. Sorry no pictures, we were having fun in the moment

The owner has done a really fantastic job with all of these games! We paid $8 per person for an hour and it was incredible! Very friendly and kind!

First visit, loved it. The staff is cool to help you if you need them and very knowledgeable about what they have, the games are very well kept. Priced very fair. My son and I had a great time. I will definitely be back.

Great selection of classic cabinets, barely any "all-in-one" machines in sight (though they are necessary at times). They also have a good pinball selection. Most of the machines work fine, though in the two years I've visited this place, some of the popular machines such as Daytona USA 2 definitely need some TLC. Service sucks. It's a very small space inside. There's a basement accessible across the entrance down some stairs which features a few extra arcades, some pinballs, and a Foosball table. Nice to

This was incredibly fun and is super cheap! You can get an hourly pass or a DAY pass!!!! Tons of old and new arcade games &&&&&& PINBALL! It's not overly loud and has a great, chill vibe! HIGHLY recommend!

Great. Some machines didn't function right but most did. Loved the pinball machines that have disappeared from most places. I'll be going back

Absolutely delightful experience! The staff was so friendly and the games brought back so many memories! We had so much fun!!!

These guys always do a wonderful job. Their prices are modest and fair. And they are always coming up with new ideas. If I could I'd give them more stars. Fantastic job guys! You are doing a great service to the community by making ways for friends and family come together.

Absolutely amazing place, would come again

It was ok, but several games didn't work at all and some were not working properly. Not too many new titles on the pinball. They charge by the hour to play too. Can't take that drink you just bought into the game area. Kinda lame.

It's still a fun place to hang out and play pinball and other arcade games. Good atmosphere.

Nice place to go with the family. You can pay for an hour, or a full day. The staff is really nice. My 9 and 10 year olds love going there. There are lots of games. You pay to get in, and play the games free. You can have birthday parties there as well.

Reasonable prices and everyone enjoyed, young to old. We paid for "all day" and played for about 2.5 hours.

This arcade is amazing! The staff is super friendly, clean well maintained environment, and they have an amazing collection of games. It would be awesome to see some kind of monthly subscription or membership. Our family loves it though regardless and it's worth your time and money to stop here!

We had a blast! A lot of old school arcade games and pinball machines...so much fun and reminded me of the good ole days...fun for young and old alike. Very reasonable and your wristband is good for the entire day. You can leave and get something to eat or just explore. A would recommend!

Lots of fun for the whole family. We are visiting from out of town and used the Groupon. My only complaint was that they don't require masks and aren't limiting the number of people inside. It's packed pretty tight so you're on top of people so can't really do any type of social distancing. Also the website says they sanitize the games but we were there almost 3 hours and never saw a single person clean the games. They do have hand sanitizer bottles around though.

How fun! We happened upon this place one afternoon after lunch, and my partner said we each should play for an hour. Really? Yes. Who knew how much I'd like playing pinball games for nearly an hour? What a throwback to my youth. The games were great!

Let's start this with some clarity on what this place actually is... a museum. As much as you would like to bring your snot nosed sticky fingered children, this place deserves respect and not to be treated like a chucky cheese. Now that that is out of the way I would like to elaborate on how great this place is. You walk in and there are banners and gaming relics with information on the walls with details and hard to find gems placed as a museum. The price is great. We paid $12 and played unlimited for h

This place was great fun for the whole family! What a gem in this small town! We had so.muxh fun thinking about having my sons birthday party here! I love pinball and it was pinball heaven for me! I might have even won a game racing against my son!

Such an amazing place with a wide variety of games. Bonus points for having stools to make the games accessible to everyone.

This is such a hidden gem!! We paid for all day admission, very affordable. The games are all free play. A very diverse gaming atmosphere. A step back in time. This place is for all ages. Most definately will be returning many times!! So glad someone took the time to set up this MUSEUM! Nothing but respect to what they have been successful in doing.

I took my daughter and we had a blast. We paid one price for the whole day, and played as many games as we wanted over and over with unlimited plays. They had the classics, like Pac-man, Donkey Kong and many more, they also had plenty of pinball machines. It was a great time.

1 price for unlimited games. Well worth the wristband. Retro and even newer arcade games. They even have some older consoles. Staff are very friendly.

Wonderful place of nostalgia and great times. Loved every minute of it a great price!

Clean, & fun for all ages. We had a birthday party for my son on a Thursday night (no school on Friday) and it's was perfect! You can bring in your food and drinks and get a private party room with 3 tables, plus a fourth table for food and drinks & 15 arm bands. They do have games in party room as well. If you have a short child they do have stools just ask them.

This place is awesome. All the old school games from my childhood. Incredible experience to share them with my young family members. Finally a place where I know more about video games than the kids do. We had a blast and extremely affordable. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for fun in Forest City.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
