Customer Reviews

We had a great evening at this bowling alley! We arrived around 9 PM and were immediately immersed in a festive atmosphere ? colorful lights, vibrant music, and a fun, energetic vibe. There were lots of people, but it still felt comfortable and enjoyable. We especially liked the shoes ? they glow under the lights, look brand new, and feel very comfortable. The lanes were smooth, the bowling balls rolled perfectly, and everything was clean and well-maintained. The music added to the fun and made us want to

A well kept up jewel in West Sacramento I'm glad to live not too far from.I definitely hosted a birthday party here as it seemed a great party spot. Kudos to all working there because the place ran great . Out party was awesome and FUN!!!! Thanks to the crew!!!

Great food! All items made fresh to order from scratch and fresh ingredients. The half size salad is still a large portion. Steak was tender and juicy. Will be back!

Had so much fun. Better to make a reservation online quick and easy.

I have been here at least a dozen times and every time I go my food is always cold. I got fed up with it today with the lady not listening to my order and all I wanted was a simple word of chilli fries and the steak nachos my wife's not were amazing but my food yet was cold and when I asked for refund all I got was an attitude from the waitress/ cashier lady and the manager. All I got was my $10 back was my chili cheese Fry. Total be and can't wait for it to shut down soon .

The wings and pitcher was an excellent price during happy hour. The wings had great flavor and quality.

This is a very nice bowling alley. That was a couple doors down from the hotel We stayed at, when we came to a River Cats game. I like the vibe of the black lights and it was very clean. The bar is very nice. All of its a little bit pricey, but it's kinda what you pay, for a night out. The staff is very friendly. Would def go here again if we stay at the same hotel.

Very good spot for family outing or even. Just to grab somthing to eat they are professional and willing to answer all questions food is under the radar good price is better would recommend to anyone

Definitely one of the better bowling alleys I've been to; it's clean, well kept, and relatively modern, with plenty of parking. There's a fair amount of seating and table space to store your stuff. The bar has plenty of options for liquors and beers, as well as a few arcade games to the side. The staff is friendly and efficient to get you playing as soon as possible.

We organized a corporate team-building event at this bowling alley, and it was a massive success! The service provided was impeccable; they took care of all the arrangements, making it stress-free for us. The quality of the lanes and bowling balls was fantastic. The pricing for group bookings was highly competitive and represented excellent value for the team. Our colleagues had a great time, and it brought us closer as a team. Highly recommended!

Came by on a Thursday evening for some friendly competition. It was $43/hr for the lane, and $4 per person for shoes. So overall ~$51 for the hour, which is definitely on the pricier end. It was definitely fun to take selfies on the machine, so the animations after you bowl would be some fun theme. Great idea! I don't think there were a whole lot of balls available. Easy parking in the plaza. I believe they have deals at certain time/days, so I would look out for those!

Great place lots of fun. Not super big but we for a lane quickly on a Saturday night. Comfy bowling shoes. A small arcade too. Didn't try the food or drink. Electronic scoring was easy to operate. The seating was a little strange, probably because im used to booths in bowling alleys.

We enjoyed our trip to Capitol Bowl. The facilities are clean and in good condition. They allow you to choose whether to bowl by the hour or per game which is nice. Staff were friendly and we had a fun time!

I personally love this place. They have a little arcade that keeps my son entertained, the food is delish, & the prices aren't as crazy as other locations. Just did my sons 12 birthday here & him & his friends had a blast. The staff was AWESOME! If you can keep all those pre-teens happy, you are in a good place lol. Definitely our family night bowl spot for a reason!

This was our first time here; the whole family did glow bowling at night. We got there a little early to play in the arcade and eat at the caf?. The kids enjoyed the small arcade and the food was pretty good. Each of the three employees that I interacted with was friendly and good at their job. My whole family (ages range from 4 to 60) had lots of fun glow bowling. It was so cool bowl with everything looking bright and neon!

I was very impressed with the venue. It's been through recent upgrades, which gives it a fresh and new feel. I took my kids and they loved it.

A very great place to grab some drinks, food and enjoy some bowling. I like it when they do have draft beers such as Stella, Heineken, Coor Light, IPA, Moonshine....etc and they do shake drinks like martinis and others. Good and cool vibe for young and experienced players. Good customer service and very attentive. Very clean and spacious enough room for single, double lanes. 4-10 people. You should come and check it out yourself. Highly recommended for a big group to enjoy the bowling experience here at Ca

String bowling. Lanes seem short and narrow. Seating on the lane is 4 bolted down swivel chairs around a table. Not much room between the lanes and when it's busy people are everywhere. Lanes were dry and the runway even seemed short. Won't be coming here again.

Nice clean bowling alley, plenty of parking but disappointed in having the pins hang from strings instead of classic mechanic set up. Felt the pins were falling wierd because the strings would affect them. Also don't like how you only have the option to do timed 1 hour plays. Our last game was interrupted on the 9th frame! Won't be going back to this alley.

Great family spot. Small arcade available. Great bartender! Kitchen available too. Simple stuff; pizza & burgers, priced decently.

It was my first time going here today. The place is pretty small compared to Country Club Lanes, but this is a good thing. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The lanes were in excellent condition. Food was... pretty good! We will likely return here!

Great service and friendly staff

Customer service above and beyond just phenomenal. I didn't only feel like a customer, but a cared for customer thanks Cass

Total headache trying to book lanes on a Saturday night. Asked for an hour and a half, they gave us 1 hour. Ended up with unknown charges on my card the next day. Manager apologized but did not offer any help.

Capitol Bowl is a nice family bowling establishment. I took my grandson there and we had a really good time. Plus, they have a full bar and grill ??????

My boyfriend and I had a great time bowling and having some food and drinks here. I would say though, maybe pay attention to the employees? First thing I noticed was how unhappy everyone was to be there.

My granddaughter went to Capitol Bowl today, there prices were so expensive, first you pay $5.00 for shoes then for one game it cost $7.80, I thought I would send her with money so she could get lunch but all she got were French fries which cost $8.50 plus taxes. Mind you she is disabled. Thank goodness I sent her with enough money but was disappointed on how high everything cost, I will never let her go again. Instead I will let her go to a bowling alley that provides special pricing for the disabled in Sa

It was a fun place to bowl until they became a part of the Antichrist, because they force you to show up by 12:00p.m in order to bowl for $3.00, most people are still in church worshiping Christ at 12:00p.m so, they're basically saying anyone who goes to church cannot save money while bowling. That is wrong how can a place tell you that you have to choose between going to church or bowling.

Came here with a friend for the first time and had a great time. I scored my highest bowling score ever, so that added to my excitement! The place has a full bar and also serves a wide range of food. It tends to get packed on the weekends, so I suggest arriving a bit early. Have fun!

It was a lot of fun. Large bar with drinks and food. Potatoes and chicken strips are cooked very tasty. Large hall for bowling. Good prices.

Fun games to play while you bowl. Good people, good food.

Capitol Bowl is the best bowling alley I have ever been to!!! They treat you like family from the moment you step in the door to when you leave! Every time we we have been, the staff and management is so friendly, professional and kind. We always have a blast when we are there! Can't wait until the next time we get to go.

We didn't bowl here but when we went in for pricing it took forever just to have someone acknowledge us. There was like 3 or 4 people at the front desk walking around, working, etc. none of them bothered to even look up, let us know they'll be with us soon, or anything.. don't know if I would return because of this. Finally got someone's attention wait was an hour so we decided to do something else mostly based on the first impression. Probably would of waited if it wasn't for the bad customer service or la

Great place. Very clean. The young lady who helped my family and I was great. Very friendly and helpful. The prices aren't bad. It's fairly small, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. We'll definitely be back.

I used to visit when I was much younger. The place at that time was in dire need of an update. With many improvements happening in West Sacramento, it finally did. I'm really impressed with how it turned out! Lots of space for bowling and everything is nice and clean. Their bar and restaurant actually has great food and beverages. I'll be back for more.

Has a great vibe and I feel really safe there.

Convenient alley located just over the river in West Sac. Decent food and drink specials paired with weekly specials makes this an enticing place to hang with a group of friends. See you again after COVID!

This place is so much fun! I love the food and video games. The service is fantastic. ??

Excellent family fun for all ages. This is a lovely bowling alley. It's freshly remodeled. Updated lanes, tables and sitting areas. It has a small arcade, with a few shooting games and a photo booth. The entire staff is extremely friendly, and hospitable. The biggest brag about this place is the food and the dining area. There's an actual chef that runs the kitchen. And the food is actually reasonably priced for what you get. I've never been to a bowling alley with such amazingly delicious food. Even if you

Meet up for my cousins birthday had a great time

We have our annual Holiday party for work at Capitol Bowl and it is a great venue! The owner and staff are wonderful. Prices are reasonable, yummy food, and well supplied bar. We will return next year for sure for our 6th year in a row.

Had a great time! Great atmosphere!

So so much fun! A little pricier than I remember but it's also been 10+ years since I've been bowling. Very fun and so worth it! For 3 shoe rentals and 1 lane for 1 hour was 63$

This place has good food, great bartenders, easy to get to. Clean and well managed. Cheers

It's OK I would rather go to country club lanes.

There were some delays with getting us checked in; however, once checked in the staff were nice. The facility was clean and the technology made bowling simple. We had a few issues with the pins not working properly but otherwise consistent. My kids enjoyed the food and prices were decent. We will return, probably just during a weekday.

The establishment and alley's are great! Clean and organized! However, the lady that takes the orders at the bar and grill is not very friendly. Definitely NOT customer service friendly! She talks down to you. Made me feel uncomfortable and nervous. We ordered drinks during bowling. I felt like I was bothering. After bowling, we decided to get lunch and drinks. I thought maybe my first encounter was just a fluke... Nope, same attitude . My husband decided to take us somewhere else to eat. We will come back

Friday visit around 1pm, it was awesome! Not too crowded at that time, great service, and the bar and grill covered the snack time very well. They keep making improvements for a great family experience, fresh paint going on, and plans to add larger projection screens. So convenient for a local fun day.

My boyfriend and I came here. Lots of fun. Was pretty cheap considering other places' prices. Food and drinks were okay... could've been better, but what do ya expect from a bowling alley lol it is a great place to bring family tho. Great vibes from staff and other customers.

Had a great time here with my coworkers for a team building event. Love the music and atmosphere at this bowling center. A great place to hang out with friends and bowl a few games. The staff was helpful and the facilities were perfect for our group. The prices at this bowling center are reasonable and the facilities are great.

Solid food at an affordable price. Clean was great customer service. I would recommend getting there early to avoid the wait.

I came in with a group of friends as a last minute birthday idea and Kiara not only made the process super easy, she was soooo funny, friendly, and gave me a cupcake right as I left. I didn't catch the bartenders name but they were also so kind and made some very tasty drinks! All my pals were raving about it. Made my birthday felt very special, thanks y?all!

Core-Mark Team Building Event. Was great. Food was awesome, the entire staff was excellent. Had a great time. Cap Bowl is a great place to host a function or just hang out and have a blast. Great food, even better bar! Lol Thanks to everyone for taking excellent care of our group.

Great place for bowling, food and drinks. They do great office parties!

The lanes are nice, clean, and very well maintained. The food is also good and reasonable price. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a good place to hold a casual birthday party once in a while. Decent dining area with the bar for those who would like to enjoy gathering. I would highly recommend visiting this place.

I made reservations for 10 people and of course half of them were late. They let me push back the start time for our group; I appreciate their flexibility. We'll definitely be coming back.

This place isn't great. We ordered several food items and drinks. The fries were over cook, the slushy drinks were mostly liquid. BUT the biggest issues = the Chilly cheese fries. They gave it to us without CHEESE AND then LIED ABOUT IT and told us the cheese when under all the French fry?s and chill. When we asked for cheese they literally THE COOK LITERALLY PUT HIS BARE HANDS INTO A BAG OF SHREDDED CHEESE AND ADDED IT TO THE TOP OF THE FOOD. Just FOUL Kitchen practices.

A lot of fun for an evening. Fair prices clean lanes..

Fun place to bowl. The birthday party room is a little tight but is quieter than the rest of the alley. The evening dark lighting in the bowling area gives it a party feel. It has a private parking lot with handicap accessible spots right in front of the door. (Additional parking is around back.)

Probably some of the worse people I've ever encountered in my life!! I'm a single mom of 3. Their dad came to town so I planned to take them bowling. I am located in tallahassee. I'm not sure why or how my phone even sent me to a ticket page that was so far away from us. I walk into capitol lanes in tallahassee. Show them my recipe email from purchasing my tickets only for them to tell me it was one in Sacramento! One of the managers was kids enough to push my reservation to the following weekend to give a

I was there before 5 pm for 2 hours and it was not crowded. It made me feel safer due to the current health situation. I hope they will think about cleaning those rental shoes. They are so dirty. It will be great if they use a little bit of the money they take for rental to have them cleaned from time to time.

Great time here for a birthday party or a night with the pals. Great food, good drinks. Arcade could use a little work, and a card reader for games would bring in more business, as it's currently only taking quarters with a cash feed machine. Bowling was fun. Treat the staff well. If you get off on Jefferson Blvd and MISS THE HARD RIGHT, it's okay, keep going straight and you can make a right turn on Capitol, it'll be on the left.

It is perfect for spending time with family and friends, the food is good, just a little expensive.

BIG THANKS TO CASS AT THE FRONT DESK! Very helpful, and super sweet! Came to visit Sacramento and she took care of us. Thank you so much.

I went to check it out, way to expensive..

I have 5 kids, 4 of which are old enough to bowl and absolutely love it! We are always on the lookout for things my wife and I can do with all of our kiddos. This is definitely the spot! Great food, the kids loved it and really friendly atmosphere. Definitely would bring the kids back for a birthday party or even just a fun Saturday night!

We stayed at the hotel couple buildings away, stopped in for some drinks at the bar, bartender was really friendly and nice and got some drinks watched people bow. Nice old little bowling alley.

The owner must be rolling in money with the way things are priced at this very small bowling alley. Let me be clear, it was nice and well kept - a bit loud for some people I would say but that's due to the close quarters - However the food and alcohol are priced like that of a tourist destination. My pettiest gripe though? CHANGE YOUR RANCH DRESSING ?? I am almost positive it is Heinz and ranch is NOT their forte

Definitely a great place to visit nice clean great staff and surprisingly great food. Hats off to the chef the potato salad was on hit. The prime rib was flavorful and melted in my mouth. The bowling experience was awesome. I will definitely be back here.

Food rating! Ordered a sweet potato and regular fries mix and it was good. Also order chicken tenders with a BBQ Buffalo mix and the chef did us right! Tenders were nice and crispy. It could of been a 5 if the regular fries would of had more flavor. Definitely a must visit in West Sacramento.

This is a cute modernized bowling alley. Took the kids to bowl before noon on a weekday, staff were friendly and prices were great. They also have a full menu and small arcade. Definitely recommend bringing the family here!

Paid for one hour of play time and the lane was having troubles since the beginning, called for attendant to fix it and we had to wait 30 minutes without any results until 35 minutes later so we asked the clerk to get our 30 minutes credited again, their response was nothing they could do about it, and told us sales were non refundable, basically I would have to take a loss of money and time. I also asked for the owner's name and nobody would provide it either, obsolete equipment and terrble costumer servi

Great time! The employees/staff/security was professional, friendly, and worked fast with the volume of people on a Friday night. I recommend the establishment to everyone. ???? Family friendly too ??

Super fun family-friendly atmosphere. Great tech that makes bowling with 3 kids under 5 a lot of fun. Have a great bar for adults as well as a good menu of food. I didn't eat there so I can't comment on the quality, but everything looked good and I saw a lot of people eating, which is typically a good sign. Definitely headed back.

Definitely recommend getting a reservation before going! The staff were super friendly and helpful. Did not like how some groups were not only going up one person at a time. (as in super crowded and congested near the entrances to grab bowling balls) Very fun atmosphere and pricing is middle of the road. They do have food and drinks. Arcade as well.

We live close by, so coming here is definitely a blessing to our family. It has always been a tradition to go bowling with the family. I hope to continue this tradition and pass it along to the younger generation . They also have a great restaurant and bar inside. The music is always going and always good.

It's great before 5 where there isn't too many people and the price is much better. After 5:00 it is a toss-up on quality. Food is also incredibly overpriced

Brought our grandkids here on a Saturday morning and they had a blast especially the 4 year old. The interactive score keeping system was entertaining. Counter person was most attentive and accommodating! We plan on coming back again next time our grandkids come visit!

Great bowling place! I came to California in 2018, and haven't bowled maybe since 2015. The experience was nice. Simple, but very tight spaced alley. Alot of places to sit eat/drink, small arcade, great workers. The bowling experience was good, love that you can take pictures for like avatars for your bowler profile. It's about maybe 16 or 20 plus lanes to bowl. Sadly it's hard to find bowling balls since they're not any on the rack. Food is always left by other customers and I had to watch a father and mot

Came here on a date. They have a bar, decent beers on tap, and a good looking food menu. We just got finger food, but it was pretty good. Would definitely recommend as a way to kill a couple hours on a weeknight.

I went to a child's birthday party. It was pretty good except for the pizza. The pizza crust was so thin that you couldn't pick up a slice with one hand. We ordered an extra pizza and it was $18 for a large one topping. Eat before you go. Other than that it was pretty good.

Me and a couple friends usually go Wednesday nights and it is such a fun experience. We usually get there at 7 and stay untill closing. This is by far the best bowling alley anywhere near Sacramento. Alexis is amazing and attentive and friendly. Highly recommended

Place is clean, including the bathrooms! They get extra kudos for that. We were expecting meh food at a bowling alley but the food was actually pretty tasty. Surprisingly, we also received great service for our party of 17. Would definitely come back!

Swanky! Since they have renovated the lanes are top of the line and the beer is a good price. Pizza is pretty good too. They have an ok video game section. Super fun, but it does get super loud during glow bowling. Apparently, its recommended you get reservations for glow bowling. Update: very fun still. Not too busy during Father's Day.

This place was by the hour 35.00 per hour..an u need more time you pay by the minute after you have paid 3500 but it's clean an waxed an the manga look great then even have a bar. An a place to eat as well. This place was fun an no kids walking into our lanes.

It's a "run of the mill" bowling alley. We had a good time there. The food is good, the people that I ran into were great, and the restrooms were clean. There's a jukebox with a recent list of music. We did pass human feces on the sidewalk and the security guard (plus friend) seemed to be smoking pot in the rear parking lot - I could be wrong. We'd come back...it's a cool place "all in all."

I recently rediscovered Capitol Bowl in West Sacramento, and it is quickly becoming a top lunch choice. It is not too busy during the week for lunch, its super close, and the price is right for a delicious meal. The staff are all super friendly and accommodating, even the cook will come to your table to check on you. I've had a few items that are all good and brings me back, such as the chicken wings, buffalo chicken salad and quesadillas.

Nice place for some casual retro fun. The food is okay. The staff is supper friendly and helpful. There are bowling shoes for rent (no socks for the obvious reasons). Make sure to make reservation since the venue is quite crowded. The bowling balls are not the best quality but they are fair enough. Sometimes the pins would not be placed down properly so they just fell on arrival so have to watch out for that. Plenty of parking.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
