Today I visited Capital Pinball Parlor in old Sacramento for the first time. It was an amazing experience! I would recommend this to anyone who thinks they might enjoy playing pinball. This place has tons of pins all on free play, the only time you pay is when you walk in the door. It's a great way to get into the hobby or practice new techniques without worrying about draining the ball. The place is totally kid friendly and the staff was so cool. Ryan is very knowledgeable and know his way around a pinball
Perfect family friendly stop in old sac that does not revolve around buying stuff. $15 for an all day pass with ins-and-outs, it is a no brainer to keep yourself or your kids occupied. They allow you to bring food inside and have snack/drinks to sell. The machines are very well maintained by the owner. They will regularly work on machines as soon as they show an issue and will have it back up and running within the same day if they can. I enjoy the flat rate instead of charging per play. I feel like it lets
I didn't quite get to every pinball machine in there, but the ones I did get to were in just about pristine condition. All the machines were on free play and it only cost $10 for a wristband(And you could go in an hour as long as you had it!). The owner was so incredibly nice and funny as he rolled around on his roller skates. Much love from Stanislaus pinball league!
Super fun, $5 for half hour, unlimited play, a few beers to.choose.from $8 for 16 oz
If you are a pinball player this is a great place to play. The offer 1/2hr 1 hr and all day passes. Plenty of new games and some older ones also. They have the stern leader board posted. Will be going back
Been here a few times now & had a blast. The machines are solid & the owner Ryan goes above & beyond to provide a great experience, showed us the internals of how the machine works, i got to feel the Pinball which was really cool, and learn about how the games played. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the future of this place as it's a really cool historical place to place some historical pinball machines as well as modern pinball machines!
This is the premier spot to play pinball in Sacramento. With 30 machines (and counting!) in pristine condition, this place is not to be missed by pinball pros and newbies alike. They have games from all eras and are all in excellent condition. The owner is on site and constantly working on machines to ensure they play like new. No quarters? No problem. There's a coin machine on site and the owner even offered to take Venmo in exchange for quarters. He will do what it takes to make sure the most people have
Absolutely loved the new pinball spot in town! This place is a nostalgic paradise with a fantastic selection of machines, all in perfect condition. The best part? They quickly fix any issues, so the fun never stops. The owner is super friendly, and the vibe is just right. Five stars for sure!
Capital Pinball Parlor is an amazing option for those wanting to play or just experience pinball. It costs $10 to play all day with their machines being set on free play. Upon entering, they give you a wrist band that signifies your all day of play. This allows you to come and go throughout the day. This business model means I also feel more encouraged to bring my kids. Traditional pinball arcades cost $1 per game. My kids could easily burn through the admission cost here in the matter of minutes. Li
We recently visited this establishment with our 2-year-old daughter & son, excited for a family-friendly outing. While we were there, my husband was helping our toddler play a pinball machine since she couldn't reach the button on her own. When she needed to use the restroom, I took her while he waited nearby. To our shock, when I returned, the owner & two other employees was publicly & VERY LOUDLY yelling at my husband in front of our children accusing him of being a thief simply for helping our daughter
Had a great time here. The owner is super chill and the machines are great. They have everything from retro to modern machines. If you like pinball, you'll love Capital Pinball Parlor!
Really cool place, the pinball machines are spotless, retro and newer machines, they are setting up events and food soon. Really friendly owner who works on the machines and obviously loves what he does. Great addition to Old Town Sacramento.
This Pinball Parlor is a cute activity to do with your kids! 3 balls on any machine is $1 in quarters. They have two quarter exchange machines - one which accepts $1, $5, $10, or $20 bills in cash and another which accepts credit and debit. They have a wide variety of pinball machines from Monopoly and Star Wars to Deadpool and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They also have 1 v 1 tournaments Mondays at 7 PM which are beginner friendly and for all ages and skill levels for a $5 entry as well as a league that m
This place nurtured my inner child. Really smart business idea as pinball has become harder to find. This place offers a wide variety of machines and all are well-maintained. You pay at the front counter for 30 minute / hour increments for unlimited play during your time slot - no quarters necessary. Can't wait to go back! :)
Awesome place to play pinball and earn high scores. There's a good variety of machines, with origins that range from the 1970s to today. Some were broken down but that's expected when these machines are played all day. Will definitely try to hit up a tournament in the future.
What a great new spot! $10 at the door for unlimited play, lots of classic and new machines. And they sell beer!
Honestly, one of the highlights of my trip to Sacramento. A must stop for any pinball player. Not a whole lot of drink options, but the ones they had were good. Owner was very friendly even when busy.
Fantastic new spot in old town. $10 entry and free play on all machines. Food and beer coming soon. Support your local pinhead!
Machines look and feel brand new! Clean, fun atmosphere, affordable, and friendly staff. A new favorite spot in Old Town Sac!
Awesome new addition to Old Town Sac!!! The owner Ryan was super friendly and happy to be apart Old Town. Definitely would recommend bring family and friends here.
Awesome selection of pinball machines - different eras and makers. Awesome people! I will be back.
Great selection of tables, very well maintained and a fun atmosphere in general. Free play for a flat fee is also a really great value!
Massive selection and variety of machines, and the "play-all-day" or "play for X time" pays for itself quickly.
Monday and Tuesday tournaments are great, casual and chill. I heard liquor will be served soon.
Great family fun, clean facility. Owner awesome & professional. Fun tournament, recommended to all ages. Games are $1 but some are only a quarter.
Just visited here this past weekend with the wife. Had a blast, good variety of games from old to new. Ryan is great to talk to and obviously cares about introducing pinball to the community.
Friendly staff and a nice collection of machines to play.
The best machines I've ever played on. This is a must if you're a pinballer.
Great atmosphere, great price
Happiness, beer+reasonable cost
Awesome place with friendly staff and well taken care of machines
Cheap games, good pinball selection, super kind owner
People are welcoming
Great addition to old Sacramento!!
Fantastic value and loads of fun.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
