So fun! Great lookin' sandwiches and the BBQ pork belly is amazing! Haven't tried the ramen yet, I was still on a full lunch when I visited. Next time, though! Update to follow. Update! 03/22/24 - Been back a few more times now and have tried a few ramen bowls [I really love The Moon Beam! Just add a lil soy sauce and salt]. The Roast Beast is really good and that bread is O-M-G good ?? We played Final Fight on the arcade and Connect 4 at our table while we waited on our food. We've gone weekdays and a Fr
It wasn't what I expected from the street. Thinking it was your normal type of cafe or coffee shop. Background music is heavy metal, it's great for gamers. Plays or 80?s movies in the TV. Staff is friendly and helpful. I have an allergy to bell peppers and they left out the sweet peppers to be safe. The Ramen was soooo good. I got the High Noon and my mother got the White Night. The cold black tea is very good. Will definitely try it again.
This is an incredible new treasure in our neighborhood! That food is just amazing as is the tea. Chimera Raman bowl is a hands down winner and the brisket is perfection. Can't wait to bring friends back here. So fun! Arcade, atmosphere and food a repeat for sure!!
Not a full service restaurant. More of a parlor feel where you stand at the counter and order. Food was okay. The Grilled Cheese sandwich was amazing. The ramen looks beautiful and I could tell that they took their time preparing it. IMHO they need to offer kick-up packets for those who enjoy zesty dishes. I know that they want to be different, but you have got to offer one or two American staple dishes like chicken fingers, hot dogs or hamburgers. Families can't come if their kids can't find anything
This spot is a great addition to the Goodyear Heights neighborhood. It's got good food, cool decor & fun video games to play for free. I look forward to seeing some entertainment there in the future, such as live music or art shows. If you're in the area or live in the area, stop in to try the food or play some old games.
It's got an industrial feel, a glass Jabba the Hutt on the counter, and heavy metal as the ambience music. The counter staff are friendly guys - absolutely fit the scene. I really like the place and hope it succeeds. I have been in twice for coffee and tea. Hoping to make a show soon.
have been waiting for this place to open!! super cool venue space, free play arcade & pool table as well as a good variety of different food options. have been back a few times since the grand opening, the sweet heat sandwich and tropical green iced tea were very tasty, very different compared to anything else in akron would highly recommend!
this place is great for 1st dates or icebreakers, They definitely have a decent amount of games that are very enjoyable that are two player,I am tea person and they definitely have a nice category of them which I loved.i definitely will be going back !!
I've been to CR twice to take a crew of teenagers to play games and hang out for some music. We also ate some food the second time we went there. The crew that I bring enjoys it all and the bonus is that I get to relax, play games and listen to tunes as well! It has a clean atmosphere and a cool vibe for most anyone.
I was so excited to try this new place. I was not disappointed. It smells amazing as soon as you walk in. I do wish they had soda. I'm not a big fan of tea or coffee with my meal. I will be ordering again.
Of all my reviews this is probably my favorite. I live right by this place and it is definitely the coolest place by us in my opinion. First the design. The main them is retro gaming. It has a lot of really cool artwork in and out. There are many various sectoral I've pieces inside such as swords posters and cool lights. Also I was told by one of the staff that the owner did a lot of the art themselves. The food is amazing they have ramen and sandwiches. The ramen is very delicious and the ingredients see
I really enjoyed my meal! It was refreshing and healthy! It was nice to be able to get a cold coffee drink and take it over to the Linda Theater (next door)! There's more to this place than just a restaurant. There's a lot of room to hold parties, business meetings, concerts, shows, and arcade gaming. I expect great things for Cafe Rewind in the future! There's parking spots out front and more than enough spaces in the back.
the food does not match the unique atmosphere of the establishment. i ordered their edamame assuming it would be your standard steamed bowl of edamame pods that youd get at any japanese restaurant. instead it was a sad serving of edamame beans lightly lining the bottom of the container with cutie orange slices on top for some reason. i payed 5 dollars which is robbery. then my friend ordered their gaia udon bowl and was also underwhelmed, saying that the veggies were raw and broth was bland. we both felt li
Not sure how to express myself on this one. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, could easily spend an evening there drinking and playing. 10/10 on the interior. Service was phenomenal, Nathan was very helpful. The food is what hurts. Not sure what I was expecting but there's no way these ramen bowls are sustainable for the business. Honestly, a local burger joint and fries would be A O K here. Local enough to walk that people will like and be content with. My ramen bowl lacks substance, flavor, and authentici
Easily one of the coolest places to go chill. The food is great, all the staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. And the games. BAH GAWD THE GAMES. NES, SNES, Genesis, Arcade games, PS1, PS2, GameCube, Wii, there's a station for almost anything you could hope to play. They even host tournaments. And then there's LIVE MUSIC! Some of the shows are even free! An absolute must-visit establishment.
CALLING ALL FOOD ENTHUSIASTS AND GAMERS!!!! This is my first time trying this place and it's absolutely amazing. I'm writing this review inside because i just couldn't wait to get this off my chest. As soon as you walk in, you're taken aback by the enchanting and mystical atmosphere. Video games all around classic and new, all FREE. The range of game systems here is truly breathtaking and very comforting. I could go on and on about the games, but you'll be able to play them for yourself. Now onto the food.
The food was excellent. The concert i attended sounded great. Free to play arcade games were fun. Staff were friendly. Overall enjoyable experience and i could easily see myself returning.
Came in from Dayton for work, looking for something different and found Cafe Rewind...food was amazing... the only downside is if you want a soda it has to be ordered separate from the food and paid separate at the bar.
This place was wonderful. I can't wait to come back with my kiddos. So many video games from years gone by, and board games too. The venue it is connected to is fantastic. Loved the atmosphere. If you are in need of quick good food, or have an afternoon to kill this spot is the place to go!
Wow- tried carryout from Cafe Rewind today, and was blown away. The Baroness brisket/grilled cheese was, no exaggeration, one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Didn't really know brisket/cheese/lettuce could be this good. Seriously, I felt honored to be in the same room with this sandwich. My daughter had the Sunrise ramen bowl, and similarly raved. Although we did carryout (we live nearby, happily walked there) we took a few minutes to check the place out. Absolutely amazing. Game room - we'll definite
Food was great. Venue was very clean. GF commented on how beautiful the bathroom was. Men's was very clean. Not all the games worked. Free play games and pool table. Wish they would post what time the music starts on their website vs just doors open and an approximate end time. Would probably go again.
I really had high hopes supporting a local business. The lady that took our order was nice, the atmosphere was eclectic which we like. Unfortunately the noodle bowls we ordered were very bland. They had soy sauce and salt on the table but that didn't help. They need to kick up the flavor. I'm not talking spicy but seasoning.
Food is great you gotta stop in the place is spectacular
I dined in. The service and food was great atmosphere was just what I like. Loud band playing music. Have video games all over for my son to play too
We had a great time and a great meal!! The brisket sandwich was delicious, and we loved the Ramen too. Also, where else can you get a raspberry rose iced tea?!? The fun, funky atmosphere is a kick as well - we'll definitely be back!
I recently tried the Chicken Kicker sandwich and it was better than expected. The mix of grilled chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise, Monterey Jack cheese, sweet peppers, and sesame oil creates a delicious blend of flavors. Each ingredient stands out without overpowering the others, making for a satisfying meal. The sesame oil gives it a unique touch, taking the sandwich to a whole new level of taste.
Howdy Yall, wanted to updated my review. I made it in to visit. This is a really nice place decked out with very cool stuff. Live music big dance floor great video games pool even a foosball table. lights camera action you should definitely visit this established. $PONZIBLUES approved ?? I've only viewed this establishment from the outdoors. Today is the grand opening. I hope they succeed and bring new life to this area. I am broke or would love to attend the open and check out the live music. Best
First of what I'm certain will be regular visits. Moon beam Ramen bowl....broth was luscious & the brisket tender. Im looking forward to ordering The Baroness sandwich next visit. Atmosphere is eclectic & fun. This Cafe looks to become the true gem of Goodyear Heights! Come to the east side....you won't be sorry!
Unique with games, video games, nostalgia, and unique food dishes. Brisket in the dishes is amazing.
Very cool little spot right in my own neighborhood. We've now stopped in twice since they've opened. Theres a free play arcade, great ramen and salads. They also had a stage for live music. Help support a local business by stoping out for lunch! Will definitely be back . ????????
When walking in we saw the stage the nostalgic memorabilia & Tenacious D on Tv.We now call this place the ramen shop of destiny! Big love to the owners the art and the food! Would love to catch a show in the future!
This was such a neat place to catch a live show. The artwork all over is beautiful. Stage was very neat. Just very cool atmosphere here can't wait to go back
Everything is perfect.. can't wait to come back..they have little bit of everything. The more you look the more you find.
The Black Knight bowl hit the spot. The vegetarian options are good too!
I loved the sandwich I purchased at Cafe rewind but am disappointed they don't open early bc I work 3-11 and would love to take one of there sandwiches with me to work for my lunch. But the place is really cool and brings something different to the Goodyear Heights area.
BEST LIVE VENUE IN AKRON.. HANDS DOWN!!!! Cafe rewind has great service and amazing food and its shared by an amazing venue called the Afterlife!!!! This is a hidden gem in Akron.. A MUST GO TO PLACE.
Food was absolutely delicious and the place is so cool inside!!! Wish I would have taken pictures, but it looked so good I didn't want to wait! Try it. You won't be disappointed!
Easily one of the coolest places in all of Akron for food and entertainment. Also, the food is amazing! If you have not checked this place out yet, please do. You will be coming back.
Ramen was absolutely stellar!
Delicious ramen. Went on a rainy day and it hit the spot. Neat atmosphere for gamers. I'll be excited to go back for some live music.
Food was awesome just wish they had some appetizers Very unique cool place look forward to them getting liquor license and more live bands
Great food, great games, great service!! A great place to bring your friends and relax or have some sweaty matches against them!

This place is awesome ??
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
