I'm a traveling balloon artist as well as professional Santa. I was about an hour away for a balloon gig and decided to visit. I was greeted at the door by the red lights indicating I was carrying metal in my pockets. I had my badge, watch, and many keys. My badge identifies me as a Detective with the Nice and Naughty division at the North Pole precinct. My badge number is 1225. I had a wonderful time walking around and getting spotted by numerous kids and adults. Every person came and asked if
It's ok! Not worth the hype, its an hour drive from my home and $45 for entry. They had about 5 rides and the lines are long everywhere. The staff is mean/rude. The track was fun but that's it. It's an overpriced arcade (which i didn't try cause it cost extra) with terrible expensive pizza. It cost so much and was not worth it. Cedar point from now on, same cost same drive, more to do. I won't be back.
We hosted our family reunion here and had the best time!! I will 100% be back when I come in town to visit. The games are a little expensive in the arcade but the food was good (we had a buffet set out for us) & the BBQ chicken was perfect. We really enjoyed ourselves! The park also wasn't as packed as I thought it would be on a Saturday. But it sure was hot outside. Also good to mention you cannot bring outside drinks in.
Had a great time at C.J. Barrymore?s! The food was surprisingly good ? fresh, flavorful, and priced fairly for a fun park setting. Between the rides, games, and good eats, it was well worth the visit. Definitely a fun spot for families, date nights, or just a day out. We'll be back!
My family and I had a good time at this amusement center for my son's 11th birthday. Our 1st time visiting and it was an experience. We arrived one hour after opening, it was a good crowd of people allowing the wait time to the rides between 5-10 minutes. Around 4 pm the wait time turned into 20-30 so patience is a virtue. All of the outdoor activities were in motion on and off throughout the day except the go carts due to the wind constantly picking up but all in all there were great memories made. The ind
I've only visited twice, but both times were a great experience. I really enjoyed the Indy SkyTrack and the drop tower. It was pretty windy, so I didn't get a chance to try the sling shot, unfortunately. The chicken and fries were also really good!
CJ Barrymore's is an awesome local theme park that's perfect for the day outing, and they're always improving and adding new attractions but they're mostly known for their go-karts they have three different go-kart tracks that are amazing and plenty of cars that are always in tip-top shape and ready to race. They have bumper boats slingshot, zip line, putt putt golf, batting cages (and yes you can bring your own bat) indoor bowling, arcades, A huge ferris wheel that's handicap accessible. Now you can buy yo
Save your money. I was excited to go to C.J. Barrymores. I attended a small celebration for my granddaughter's birthday. What a disappointment. My daughter wasn't allowed to bring in the diaper bag. Two days before we went, they posted the unlimited bands weren't available until the end of the month. We spent $250, 6 of us 4 attractions, attempted 5 times to win a $1 ball. The laser tag was a joke. The vests clips were broken. Of the 5 of us that played, 2 of us had broken guns, which were t
I was a appalled about the new rules of purse size, long lines due to metal detectors. After speaking to a wonderful law enforcer he explained to our family about the reasoning behind the new procedures of entrance it eased the frustration. The food and drinks were good! I was there with family and friends for my sis in law?s birthday celebration. We ate the wonderful wings, salad and pizza. The lines were long for all the Grand Prix, and Go Kart rides but it was worth the wait. Looking forward to going b
I went to watch my family enjoy themselves. They had a great time, they weren't able to bowl because of some parties that had booked. The lines for the rides, majority of them moved quickly. It seemed a little pricey to me? the food was reasonable, the staff was friendly. Make sure you have a really small purse, mine was 1 inch bigger than they allowed so I had to take it to my car. It's quite a bit to do for kids of all ages
Had a fantastic time with my wife. Definitely had to try out the three story go kart track, and it was just as amazing as we imagined! Prices were reasonable for rides and attractions but definitely come early as it can get busy pretty fast on the weekend! The line was long when we started out but moved quickly and we enjoyed the attractions and the food available. Definitely a great place to take the family or just go out with friends!
Good family fun. Food is good. Excellent staff. We had a problem and the staff and manager were wonderful.
A hot mess. Fights galore! I'd never bring my kids here again. Security is at the door bullying people with medication in their bags- the good citizens, while women are getting jumped on and assaulted by men on the inside. And they take their time getting to the altercations. Kids and adults meet up here to fight. Kids get robbed..I won't visit anywhere where the management allows inexperienced security to make all decisions. The owner or management does not take complaints from customers, as I called to co
Went here with my daughter and the rest of my family and we had a blast! My daughter enjoyed most of the rides - especially the sit down zip line and go karts. She won 3 of the crane games too in the arcade. Nice to see games for kids that they can win prizes! I also had the sliders for lunch and those were delicious as well! Overall a great trip, so I will be back again with my daughter!
This isn't the family fun amusement center I grew up adoring. My husband and I wanted to have our engagement party here last year; we thought it would be an ideal location for youngins and older folks alike (keep the kids busy and the elders comfy). Unfortunately, we quickly realized this wasn't the ideal location for a, uh, pleasant family gathering. I stopped in a few weeks prior and the armed security guards were SO rude. The staff was inconsistent about what we could/couldn't bring? I wanted to decora
It was a great day ?? if you're planning to visit C.J. Barrymore's I recommend you to go there and enjoy your day
My parents took me for my birthday and I had a blast and the prices were reasonable, and we went inside to eat and the service was amazing but just took a minute to get our food but it was pretty busy so I respect that. The go karts are amazing I definitely recommend going on all 3 of them. Also we had fun on the Rollercoaster with the loop so it was pretty awesome. Definitely recommend coming here for a awesome experience.
Kids and the whole family enjoyed their time there. We went on Wednesday so there was not a lot of crowd so the waiting time was nothing. The only thing we didn't like was the guards in the front door, who were very rude and aggressive. The bowling host was very very friendly and helped us a lot.
This was great place for indoor and outdoor activities. I have big birthday party for my teenager party of 20 it is worth it because you will save a lot of money with the wristbands because it is expensive there per child. I will recommend if you come with more than 10+ kids just do a party package because you will save a lot of money with food & play cards and wristbands. We stayed there until it closed had awesome time for hours it rained for a little bit we got chance enjoy inside activities.
Let me first say this is a GREAT family atmosphere or even just as an adult if you want to come and sit at the bar you can and just enjoy the vibe! The wings are amazing!!! I went there not long ago and was surprised by all the changes with the armed security, bag checks etc but i must say i was pleased with it all! Lucky for me my car was close I did have to put something back in the car that was not allowed in and my bag JUST made the size cut I completely understand why the safety precautions are ther
So, I went here with my daughter's elementary school which was fun but there were 20 other schools there also. Again, super fun day especially with my 5th grade daughter but the lines were terrible. Have you ever waited in line for an hour to ride go-carts with a 10 year old? Anyways, park was clean, fun and friendly as usual. We will be back soon to enjoy a family outing.
We signed up for 59$ plan. Bowling area was cool but music and screen was not working. Bowling machine touchscreen is Damm old need to replace. Couldn't go outside as it was raining ??,
Went opening day for my birthday. Bomb AF love the whole remodel. Place was clean extremely fun and staff were cool enough. Only things is the bag rule. I had a SMALL cross body bag and they made me put it in my car. I'm not sure why you can't bring in a big bag anyway. But I'm sure my bag followed the guidelines. They have specific measurements for the bag but don't measure it they just eyeball it and say what they feel. Bothered my soul on MY BIRTHDAY ??
Amazing. It's a great deal if you have kids that are tall enough to do all the rides or most of the rides. I love that this place pays security to catch people cutting in line and they do a great job! So many people are there and the security really do work. Highly recommended
SAW THIS ON WEBSITE AFTER MY VISIT AT CJ BARRYMORE TODAY Bags We allow CLEAR bags up to 15? x 15?. We do not allow backpacks, oversized purses, totes, duffel bags, or briefcases of any kind. Fanny packs larger than 8? x 5? are prohibited. Medical bags containing insulin, medication, portable oxygen, and medically necessary items are permitted after inspection. All bags, including diaper bags, will be searched upon entry. Not What We Expected ? Left Disappointed and Uncomfortable I don't usually write revie
Love this place! The staff is friendly, I love they have armed security they are polite! (Just don't come in with a big purse) I felt safe, the food is good, drinks are ok, just a nice place to come with family or just friends!
First and last time I will visit this establishment. The security team is the rudest group of individuals I have come across in a place of business. Some people will not know everything about this park upon arrival. In the future, try answering questions about the park without acting like a complete a-hole. One security personnel even flat out ignored me. Don't waste your time coming here when there are better options such as Cedar point and Michigan Adventures. The price is far too high, especially conside
This is a cool spot! We arrived right at opening on a weekday and it wasn't too busy! I purchased wrist bands for the kids and got a $50 fun card on Groupon. The fun card allows you to ride the attractions and play games. It was a great deal for me because I only wanted to do a few things. It was hot outside, but we had a blast. There are 3 different go kart tracks. The biggest one is all the way in the back by the rollercoaster and zip line. I hate that we didn't realize that until later. The water bumpers
Didn't they use to own a clothing store in Eastland mall years ago . Affordable clothing. Anyways we had a ball here and the kids actually won toys out the mechines with the clamps and they wouldn't stop talking it and I know they were excited because I never in my childhood won anything out of them things. I always thought those were a scam kids game of something. They won 3 balls they loved it very affordable too! But no baby rides outside my 2 year old cried me to death outside he even ran away from me t
What a fun day! Lots to do, even when the weather isn't the best.
As for buying the all day wristband vs paying for individual rides. Remember that you have to stand in long lines for everything. So if you have a full day there worth the wristband. Half day, pay for the ride not the wristband. If you do choose a wristband ABSOLUTELY get the FUN CARD!! The arcade is HUGE and incredible!!
We had a BLAST, and we took our 2 granddaughters, stayed like 8 hours. The lines we not bad, 10 min. Food & drink were responsibly priced. The bad... Not enough drink carts/stands, most were closed, and it was 84* Some of the attendants didn't seem like they wanted to be there, barely more than grunts to communicate for some othersvery friendly, but like I said it was hot out, and near season ending . Overall, I recommend it.
Very friendly staff. Fun activities. Not really a place for toddlers - I saw several kids that were turned away for being too small. Food was ok. I prepurchased tickets for the day, there doesn't seem to be any benefit to it as we still had to stand in line.
Staff helpful Clean bathrooms The staff running the rides are super sweet! There's something for everyone! Reasonable prices. I recommend going closer to the time of opening! The lines are so long just to get in. We luckily went about an hour after they opened. Around 3-330 we were going to go to my vehicle for Tylenol (we bought the wristband) and saw there was a 2ish city block line of people waiting to get in! Needless to say, I tufted out my headache lol... If you're bringing small/young children kee
Something to do that's family friendly. Nice for teenagers if they are on a date. More than one place for food. The newer race cart track is nice. I felt 16 again.
We visit every year on New Year's Day for my son's birthday. I love that you can save $15 by buying the $50 game plays on Groupon. It makes a huge difference when you're taking 3-5 kids to the arcade (plus two adults that enjoy playing as well). This year I was excited to see some new games, and also sad to see some old ones gone. They added an indoor ridable attraction called the Hammer and removed the large space invaders. I didn't see the value in this ride for $8. They added an interactive hungry hippos
Went in October on the last day outdoor activities were still open. what a wonderful time! 3 outdoor Go Kart tracks, one for little kids, one for everyone and one fast lane near the golf dome that has wide lanes ans faster cars. Ferris wheel, and awesome and challenging miniature golf course with gorgeous waterfalls and trees. Bowling inside was super chill experience with leather couches to sink into and glittery walls and fun bowling lanes. Fire pit nearby indoors for a comfy drink with friends. Food truc
We started our adventure with my grandson getting stung by a bee in the parking lot. The staff was amazing and treated it with such care; even gave him an ice pack. We then enjoyed most of the rides, bowling, arcades and had dinner. Was a wonderful experience start to finish.
We had the best time and the price was right.
we had such a great time. they have so many options for car tracks. laser tag was alot of fun. all the kids had a blast. price was great for everything included.
I'm writing this as the aunt of a 15-year-old girl who had a deeply upsetting and unacceptable experience at C.J. Barrymore?s Clinton Township location on June 6, 2025. My niece and her cousins, all between the ages of 13 and 24, were wrongfully accused of cutting a line after following what other kids were doing. Instead of being spoken to respectfully, they were screamed at by a staff member and physically pushed including the 13-year-old, who was touched by a female employee. When they tried to calmly a
This was my first time visiting. Everything is great with the exception of the go carts. They need to install cushions around the bar for the steering wheel. I was hit and sustained severe bruising from hitting the bar.
I really enjoyed bringing my daughter and niece here today thank you for the wonderful atmosphere
Hi im very disappointed and upset about our trip to your park i spent almost $350 on wristbands and about another $200 on food and was told they were good until 11 but they closed the outside area around 8:30 then started closing everything inside around 10 I drove 3 1/2 hours to get there and 3 of my daughter's went out to the car because one of them needed a tampon it was only 9:45 and they refused to let them back in even with their wristbands on i am so very disappointed in our first experience and it's
I love this place!! The family and I come here a couple of times a year for just a full day of video games and rides!! The rides and the arcade are so much fun!! We always come home with arm fulls of prizes. They also have laser tag and bowling indoors and a prize center to pick a variety of things with the tickets you win from the arcade!! There's just so much to do. I definitely recommend it!!
Family enjoyed ourselves minus the rude ass security guard out front and the guy directing the line for tickets. If you get that easily annoyed you need to find another gig..
It was great. I Had a lovely time with my girlfriend, And always enjoy my business there. How do you recommend going on Groupon to purchase Wristbands and cards..
To whom it concerns your security guards open carry around children with out taking a cpl class. I am here right now and the security guard was the aggressor in a situation while having a firearm on his side. Please teach the rights and wrongs to your employees. Will never come here again because I don't feel safe with your staff open carry around the property.
Great prices, kids had a lot of fun. The staff at the door were rude coming and going . The are rules on the size of purse or bag when you come . Call to find out the size.
I won't ever be back. It has been years since we have gone and have family visiting from out of town. We thought it would be fun to go go-karting today. When we walked up to the door, there were 2 armed men who had us walk through a medal detector. My mother-in-law was stopped behind us because of her purse being big. When my husband walked back out to check what was going on, he was chased down by a female guard, yelling at him to move out of the way when there was no one even waiting to get in. I tur
Great fun! However, the staff should share mini bowling safety with children parties. The bowling balls can injure children's hands when the balls come up from the lanes. Also, very dark lighting, kids can fall off the alleys. Recommend adding some lighting at the end of the lanes.
Staff is rude, bartenders/ food area need more training on how to run that area appropriately, they cost themselves good tips with lack of smiles, customer service. We were a party of 10. They couldn't control the weather, but just the overall experience inside, will not be going back. Too much money dropped on a bad experience.
Great place for young adults. The only problem is the security policy. You can't bring a purse inside so we had to leave it in the car. They should just have the guards look inside your purse at the door.
We went bowling and hit the arcade. I would have loved to do some outdoor activities, but it was a little too cold. I can see myself coming back for an adult day. I absolutely love that fire pit.
C.J. Barrymore's Funny place. Nice games. Nice rides. Good food. Excellent place. A little pricy, but we always look for coupons. You will not be disappointed. First came here in 2005. Highly Recommended
Rides we fun, lines weren't too long on a weekday. Important to note policy of if you leave you aren't allowed back in, aka no leaving to get something to eat and coming back in if you have a day pass. The day pass is totally with it if you do more than 6 rides. Workers were helpful and answered questions.
Great place to have fun. Lots of rides and games. Almost like a small amusement park, except close to home. Food was so, so. You'll spend some money, but you'll have loads of fun. Great for the whole family.
First time here and we loved it. Staff was super nice and helpful. The rides were fun and well maintained. The arcade wax clean, great prizes and the bathroom was tidy! We will definitely be back!
Came here for a day out with the kids on a Saturday. Arrived when they opened, left for lunch because the price of the food is crazy (we ate inside PF Changs down the road for the same price) When returning there was 0 parking available. We literally could not park and had to just leave. This bummed the kids out because we still had a $50 arcade card but was not able to use it. This place really needs more parking!!! Besides the parking the new go carts are fun, roller coasters and others were also fun. P
We really had a good time and the kid loved it. They have both large indoor and outdoor family entertainment centers. They have a lot of attractions both indoors and outdoors such as the Drop Tower, Saddle Sling, Ferris Wheel, Racing cars, Spinning Coaster, Soaring Eagle Zip Line, loop roller coaster, XD Dark Ride, 150 game arcade, 3 go-kart tracks, Bumper boats, Bumper cars, Miniature golf courses, batting cages, rock climbing, Bowling, Laser tag, Driving range, Golf dome, concessions stand and restaurant.
My Daughter owns a small Business. Was looking to have it at CJ Barrymore?s. Some of our employees have small children we thought it would be a nice company picnic to have a CJ Barrymore. Seems as though they don't book small businesses until the day of if there's anything available. They keep the reservations open for large corporations, which I feel is discrimination. It was gonna cost us $2000 for our party to go there. Called and talk to a manager very rude didn't care and he said that's their policy an
Mini golfing was fun. It was pretty busy but there were food trucks, photo booth, the rides looked fun and there was many options for everyone.
Took my grandson and friends for his 9th Birthday and they did not disappoint!! They had a blast!! Definitely will return without the kids. Lol
We had an awesome time!! Matt ?? was very helpful with us having a wheelchair and all! And the young gentleman that helped with the elevator, so nice!! Super hospitality, we appreciate all of you and will be back!!????????
My very small purse was not small enough which annoyed me. Just be prepared to bring in a small pouch (if needed). Do appreciate trying to keep everyone safe. It was a fun time watching my family enjoy the games & rides. Laser Tagg viewing was amazing.
It was amazing. My first time going and I had a blast. Was super hot but definitely worth it! We got the unlimited wristbands and it's definitely worth the money! Wasn't bad at all! Definitely will be going again!
Being at C. J. Barrymore's feels like when I went to Bobblo Island and they're building more activities. Inside bowling, arcade games and other activities. Good food, security and and private parties don't forget the golf court. No tickets need to enter.
I didn't enjoy my experience. 1) Food and snacks were horrible and very limited in regards to variety. 2) It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be 3) Each game costs $2.25 average!!! 4) Not a lot options for little ones.. it's definitely for older kids. Yes, they do have laser tag, a small bumper car set up, and a small drop ride.. but that didn't make it worth it for my family.. I think because my kiddos were too small for most of all that. I would rather go to Dave and Busters where the food is at l
This is a great place to go have some fun on any day of the week. They got gocart, mini golf, bowling, restaurant, arcade, and much more. Can get pretty busy on the weekends. The staff is very friendly and clean place. If you go to the arcade check out Groupon, I got a $50 card for only $25.
Very fun place for families and kids to hang out and ride the rides, They have a zip line ride, go carts, boat rides, ferris wheel, bungee jumping, drop rides, roller coaster, etc. Tons of fun.
Very nice location for kids and friends. We will go again soon ! I really recommend!
Me and my friends had so much fun here. I love this place. Wanted to visit again.
September 2022 - came here with family and friends. Took back by the metal detector and armed security. However, past that my children had a fun and safe time. They enjoyed the rides and we had some food. Sliders and fries were good. For those with long hair they want it in a pony tail if its past your shoulders. They have free hair ties somewhere in the lobby.
Nice play for fun.. highly recommended
First of all, everything was good the rollercoaster, the drop, the zip line, Ferris wheel, the FIRST go karts, then we wanted to hop on go karts at the end of the night for our last ride. It was the go karting with the spiral and thin tunnel. We hopped in, we raced good, then at the very end they stopped the race and yelled at everyone and kicked us out and said everyone is done riding at that one and to never come back. I walked up to them and asked a simple question, ?are we also banned?? They ignored me
Had similar experience with security being disrespectful and aggressive as everyone else complaining about security in these reviews. Wish them the best but we will not be returning
Will be wonderful with kids here.. Lots of stuff.Had a great day here. Get the coupons on Groupon before visit you get great discounts. Also prices here are reasonable. FYI..they don't allow you to get outside food.
Always a great time at C.J. Barrymore
Why are there armed guards at C.J.Barrymore's? I don't know what's going on there but my gkids had a great time. So did the husband. Lol. There were a lot of rides the kids didn't get the chance to ride but maybe next time. Yes. I would go again and bring the kids. I know if something happens, we would have lots of protection. ???? It is expensive $$$ of course. The food was pretty good. The husband had chicken wings (6 for $11) and I had chili dog with fries for $7 which wasn't bad. I also had a Long Islan
OMG! we couldn't have picked a better day/time. We rode everything they had to ride. We definitely got our money's worth on this one! I think we'll return next year! The staff was great from the security to the counter, to the rides, to the managers, to the concessions. I've been here before, but I believe we had a better chance of experiencing it all today. This was our 2nd day coming as we didn't know about the special they had for the holiday. Thinking it would be too many ppl or just crazy, and it wasn'
Great outdoor activities for the whole family and good chicken wings from the vendor outside with the beer. Also good alcohol drinks. Got tickets on Groupon
Awesome time food was fresh and hor, kids had a blast. Will be back.
fyi they lock their doors 1 hour before closing. I wasn't told this when I called to verify hours and it is not on their website or Google. Please make people more aware of this.
Great place, they have expanded over the years and me and my family truly enjoy the new additions. Mini bowling, Lazer tag, roller-coaster, arcade and more. There are many food choices and covid safe.
My wife and I were trying to go into your establishment and were told her small purse was not allowed in.....that we had to leave it in the car ...so every car is going to have a women's purse in it . definitely won't go back .
As a gamer I love the arcade games they have here but don't like that you can't bring in a diaper bag as I tried bringing one in for my 1 year old
What amazing Sunday date at CJ Barrymore with the perfect person in my life. We had a blast on the games and arcades. I was man on a mission to win that grumpy care bear she was eyeing at the prize counter. So I was set to win 10k in tickets to win that prize for her. So I did achieve that and it was rewarding after I got the first care bear. Then I was set to get myself one too. Let me tell you I did get second one. That day I was on another high in life. Can't wait to come for more fun
Love this love 3 story go kart track my kids loved it pizza was not thr best but still you should go
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
