The lanes are absolutely beautiful! Buffaloe Lanes Cary staff and facility were ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL hosts for the Special Olympics North Carolina bowling events. Plenty of space, perfect temp, well maintained lanes and plenty of parking. I'll be back to bowl under normal circumstances...the place is just down right wonderful and I enjoyed being there a great deal. (Also, for a tech guy, I thought the video wall was AWESOME too!)

There are not many places to bowl around here, but they don't take that for granted. Everything is clean, and the staff seem attentive. I'll be back for sure, but I will say $6 for a normal hot dog is wild work. You could get a pack of hot dogs AND buns for that price. Do definitely eat before coming.

Cool place allot of people coming over for play bowling and video game. Allot of lines 32 A selection of balls of different weights and sizes for the fingers. A price of 15 dollars per hour for a player including shoes. A really fair price. The surface is maintained at a high level.

The staff that work there act robotic. No smiles, no nothing!!!! Asking them questions was like pulling teeth for an answer. It felt like the staff that worked the concession stand and the shoes were racist. My whole group felt very uncomfortable there. We will not be back to that bowling alley and we will not be suggesting that place to any of our friends. Friends, beware of Buffaloe Lanes in Cary!!!! A very bad experience!!!!

Had a great time! We loved the animations with our faces in them. The food was very good and affordable, and there were plenty of vending machines with lots of different drinks.

This was our first time bowling at this location. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the lanes. The Florescent colored shoes were a big hit for our group.

I like this place to go for our family events. The only dislike, as everyone is having issues these days; asking/mandating extra tips. This tip culture is not going and understood well nowadays. The employee charges for the hour and passes my shoes about within a min. I need to tip at least ~$6 for this help. I want to pay for the game and the employer should take care of the employees? wage, in case the employee is on these tips(I don't think so).

Buffaloe Lanes has some good late night bowling deals. Going at other times is expensive, but the Fri/ Sat late night deal is great. The bowling alley is fun and they have quite a few balls available in different weights and sizes. If you order from the snack shack, food takes a long time to come out. My kids like the arcade and it seems bettwr than some at being able to earn enough tickets to get a prize. Definitely better than Dave & Busters.

Went for part of my bachelorette party for starlite hours. Great price and so much fun!! Good sized bowling alley and plenty of different bowling balls to pick from. Would recommend.

Good bowling alley. It's getting a little old exterior wise and needs a refresh in the inside too. There's an arcade to keep small kids busy as well as get them some gifts after they are done playing. The prices are cheap compared to a few other fancy places. Food is nothing fancy but is good. The restrooms are very clean for a place that sees a lot of footfall. Overall, I would recommend folks living in West Raleigh, East and Central Cary to give this place a try especially when you are looking to host eve

We went to this place after many months and were totally disappointed with the staff. They gave us lane 32 and right at the start of our time started a hockey match on the screen infront of our bowling lanes.. Only lanes 29, 30, 31 and 32 had the screen which had the match. All other screens were silent so as to not distract the bowlers. When we sent our son to request the front desk to put the same display as other screens, they rudely turned him down saying it can't be changed. After I personally went the

My husband brought our family of four to Buffalo Lanes in Cary, NC, and overall, the experience was okay. Ada?s hospitality was fantastic?she went the extra mile to greet our children and made us feel welcome. The bathrooms were clean, and the aesthetics around the lanes were decent. However, Arianna?s attitude was extremely disappointing. She was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional, refusing to acknowledge my family on multiple occasions. When I attempted to return our bowling shoes, she purposely ignore

I called on Monday of last week to reserve lanes for Friday. The first person I spoke with said that they don't reserve lanes and that I would have to call an hour ahead to get on the waiting list. Our group grew overnight, so on Tuesday I called and spoke with a different person to see if I could reserve lanes now that I had a larger group. Still no. They again told me I'd have to call an hour ahead of time to be put on the waiting list. The Friday comes along and I call to be put on the waiting list. This

Family friendly facility with a lot of parking. This is a dry location aka no alcohol is served here. This is a great place to gather with friends or a league too. Bowling shoe rental fee is $12. Food is served her and my family enjoyed the funnel cake fries. There is also a mini arcade area to play games. Additional seating is available at the high top tables.

Fantastic bowling area. It's $12/person for an hour, including shoe rentals. The interface is really fun, and there are different games you can play while bowling. They have a pretty sweet arcade as well. Very clean and friendly staff.

Large facility with great atmosphere, customer service with two game rooms and video masking unit. A must to go visit.

Our group of 4 did the starlight bowling special on a Saturday night for a double date. Great value, $50 total for the 2 hours of unlimited games including the shoe rentals. The visuals above the lanes are adorable as well. With that said, the dirty bathrooms, the limited snack bar with a long line, the crowds of obnoxious kids, and the fact that it was colder inside than outside during winter really put a damper on our experience personally. It was extremely overstimulating and there was a serious lack of

I absolutely loved this place! Definitely the most modern bowling alley I've ever been to. I was also extremely impressed by the arcade! The value of credits for your money as well as prize selection for points and also the variety of games, all outstanding. Even the snack bar was good. The whole family enjoyed themselves, aged almost 7 to 73. Maybe this isn't new for others but I also loved being able to put the bumpers up because none of us are especially talented at bowling lol.

We had a great time at Buffaloe Lanes! I often cringe thinking of the number of grubby fingers that have come in contact with bowling balls. But this place has managed to maintain and sanitize everything so it doesn't fee quite as gross! ?? The kids had a blast and that's what matters.

We went to Buffaloe Lanes for a team activity. The facility is clean and nicely kept. The staff was friendly and answered the questions we had about group rates, bowling by the hour/game. We had enough people for two lanes. When we got there, they were having league bowling. They were staying able to accommodate us by getting two lanes next to each other. The electronic scoring was easy to use. Wee we're even able to customize the bowlers to have bumpers automatically raise for those that needed it. We g

Great family friendly bowling with arcade and party room. Very clean and the assistants provided for birthday parties is a nice touch. Bowling shoes well taken care of and plenty of bowling balls. Arcade has operational video games, which is rare. Pizza was tasty as was birthday cake. Highly recommend.

Very good place to enjoy with your family. We have been here a lot of times and of course we go on Sunday they have a good price. Food is good. Costumer Service is good. There is a lot of entertainment in here. Looking forward the next visit!! En familia se pasa muy bien y entre amigos tambi?n. O dejes de traer tus hijos. Los domingos tienen especiales para todos. La comida cierra como as las 8:30pm o 9pm

Great experience. Brought my 4 year old here to bowl. They charge 15/person/ hour. Very nice gentleman working the concession area too. Ordered a hot dog and fries.

Nice place to come and escape the summer heat. The staff is friendly. They have updated some by adding screens on the back walk. It's nice that you can easily see what lane to go to and it's animated.

I really liked this recreational center, (buffaloe lanes) the place was very nice and the best thing is that you can go as a family, since the atmosphere is very healthy, recommended ?? * ?? %

Very nice atmosphere! Love the fun kiosk for the bowling scorekeeping. Nice staff and helpful attendants. One idea, you could have some lane number signs on the tables to help direct people. It gets a little crowded when at full capacity.

Nice & clean, quick check in. 30 minutes to play. Great for 4 person in one lane

Nice, clean bowling alley with a fairly modern look. All the basics you expect plus a game room. A good time for families!

I loved this place to go and have some Bowling. 12$ per person and it has an arcade too! Really recommendable

Had a great time Birthday bowling with my niece and then played some arcade games. Kinda our tradition. If you want a nice clean and covid aware place to get out n have fun plz go to Buffaloe Lanes! You won't be disappointed ???

Buffaloe Lanes sponsored one of my scavenger hunts. Their contribution to the gift baskets was very generous. In addition, they were easy to work with and very responsive. I can tell by how they interacted with me, they have a very caring business. Also, everyone was wearing masks and being very safe!

$15/person for 1 hour on a Thursday early afternoon. Add shoes rental to it, over $100 for a family of 5. Crap, inflation applies to bowling too! A clean fun bowling facility but not affordable for low income families.

We went on a Saturday with a big group and we played 1.5 hours. Only $10 per person including shoes! Great deal. They have a great arcade selection as well which my son enjoyed.

This place is great! Neat as a pin, nice staff and fun arcade area. We will definitely be back soon.

The atmosphere is family-friendly and welcoming. The staff are not only helpful but genuinely friendly. The lanes are well-maintained and clean. ??

Great place to have fun and the staff and the owners are good people that's the way they roll

It's cheaper than most places and it's family friendly. Their restrooms are clean, which apparently isnt the case for other bowling alleys. The downside is that it doesn't seem very lively. It's really more for little kids and families. If you're a college student with your buddies expecting a party-like experience, you'll literally drive home earlier and sober. You might as well bring your homework too because you can actually concentrate here. I wish cosmic bowling was possible at 4pm. But because I'm a f

Family friendly ! This place is amazing! I came here with my 6 month old baby and my 5 years old son at 6:30 pm and we had a great time! The arcade games are very fun too! This place made me feel comfortable and secure with my two kids ? definitely an awesome place to enjoy with friends and family! There is not alcohol or loud music? Very clean place with a nice atmosphere! I just love it! Thank you!!!

They were a great host for Special Olympics.

Cheap place to bowl and have fun with friends! Was 13 bucks a game and they had nachos and garlic bread! Staff was kind and helpful. The place was clean and colorful and wasnt crowded on a sat night!

Took the grandkids and Aunts and Uncles and cousins. Had a blast. Great time, staff was excellent.

This bowling alley is owned by jews with how they charge you for every little thing, they stop your games on round 7 because ?the time is up? yet Ive bowled at many bowling alley?s and when the time is up they let you finish the game, also all the balls were nasty greasy like they were dunked in oil.

Great bowling alley with fair pricing and plenty of lanes. The bowling alley also has a snack bar that serves drinks and okay food like pizza, burgers, and stuff from the fryer. They recently upgraded their score wall at the end of the lane with a huge led screen, which is both really cool and sometimes a little distracting depending on what's on the screen. I lean more towards it being cool.

Love this place! We went on a field trip here with our son and Cary Elementary!

Great bowling nice people in the lane next to us gave us some tips. All in all a really good family night. I got the jack pot in the"Black Hole" game! Over 2000 tickets!

We had a blast! Friendly staff! Plenty of room at each table/lane . We will go back. Ample parking

Really good hangout place. Loved their cheese sticks. The staff is also very polite We loved the emojis that get displayed on their screen during bowling. Overall had a great experience

Absolutely loved coming here. It's been a couple of years since I've been to this location, and it was just as fun as I remember. Staff were friendly and helped with any needs. Everything was clean and well maintained! Will definitely be coming back!!

Fun place but pay attention to the warnings about the slipperiness of the lanes!! We were bowling this afternoon and my mother-in-law made the mistake of trying to walk a little past the black line to retrieve my son's ball from the gutter - her feet went right out from under her and she hit her head on the lane and broke her wrist. Needless to say, we didn't finish our game. Our day was pretty much over.

Had a great time with family on my kids birthday

I usually enjoy the lanes here, but over time it's continued to get more expensive for less experience. Came today and was able to bowl 1.5 games with the kids in the hour for $52.. I understand why they've shifted to hour based lanes, but being able to bowl one full game at that price is just a disappointment compared to what it used to be when you paid per game.

Buffaloe Lanes Cary Family Bowling is the BEST place to go bowling. Staff is very friendly, polite, and very helpful. The environment is very family-friendly and the best place to make memories. I'm looking forward to next time ??

I really enjoyed Bowling there. There were many lanes available for play and the waiting time was minimal.

Fun place to hang out with friends or kids.

Super nice bowling alley and staff.

Had a great time with my son, will definitely come back again!

Fun! Great Place! Nice Staff!

Made my second visit to this place yesterday. Writing this based on both visits, and overall Buffaloe Lanes is a mixed bag. The pros: Clean facility. Lanes and equipment were in good condition. Modern automatic scorekeeping with good display. Shoes were clean and not overly old or worn. No problems with any of this. The cons: NOISE - you can't hear yourself think in this place let alone have a conversation. They have an arcade area with some VERY loud games like pretend motorcycles. CLIMATE - we were ther

I love this place, it isn't fancy or particularly packed with the latest and greatest, but great concession stand, the bowling facilities are nice with real wood lanes, and my kids love the arcade area. When the weather is lousy this is a great option and open lanes are usually available whenever I've come.

Bowler of 11 years, this is my far my favorite place to bowl INCREDIBLY affordable pricing, lovely staff, good atmosphere Yes it gets busy, if it wasn't busy... You wouldn't have low rates or good staff. For any expierenced bowlers, these are comparably tough lanes compared to most. Gutters don't hook out, more oil than most alleys, especially with the carry down, and the backend REALLY doesn't bounce much. An excellent spot to get better.

It was an okay experience. I love bowling but there are definitely better places. The bowling itself is good, there are different modes you can play and there are many lanes. My dad could not find a ball that properly fit him, his hands are a relatively normal size too... I have not tried the food but it looks cheap and greasy. Recommend bringing snacks or eating before/after you go. The arcade looks amazing at first but it's basically a joke. Some games are fun but others are out of order/closed. One ti

Fun for the whole family!! Went here with my kids on a Saturday evening and was pleasantly surprised to be able to get a lane, which was wonderful!! My kids loved to bowl and got to enjoy some of the arcade games afterwards. Food was great and staff all around as well!! Can recommend and will visit soon again, thinking of a birthday bowl for my kids here!! Thank you!!

We try to go here once per week. It is clean and fun. There's a pro shop with a good coach available later in the afternoons. Also, they have a very kid friendly vibe with a snack bar & game room. If the snack bar is closed, you can get snacks and drinks via the super nice vending machine, as well as a vending machine with things like thumb hole tape in it, as well. Family owned and friendly. I wish they had yearly or monthly packages for frequent bowlers at a discount. Only discounts are for current league

Very polite and kind staff. Clean business. Good ol' normal bowling alley without all the dramatics (besides the cool after 10pm bowl) but has like an arcade room for the kiddos and those of us young at heart :). Reminds me of my childhood in the 90s. Very nostalgic.

Fantastic, clean, fun place for kids, teens, and parents alike! The employees were so patient and helpful as our kids cashed in their tickets and picked arcade prizes. This location is clean, the pizza is delicious, and the starlight weekend bowling with it's fun twists is a must try!

Pretty expensive in terms of what you get in return for your money at the arcade but my nephew loved it. The arcade won't occupy you all day, but we got an hour out of it playing some games. It was quiet and clean when we went which is a plus for me as I don't like a loud crowded places and easy to keep track of the little one. Their arcade card machine does not give change however they do have an ATM. Something to think about if you only want to out so much money on the arcade card.

Always a good time. Staff is the best

Ever since I found this bowling alley I've been going back week after week. It's honestly the best bang for my buck. I've been enjoying myself so much I went and bought my own personal ball at the pro shop that's located inside the bowling alley. They also got a sizable arcade for those interested in that. Definitely a must go if you're in the area.

Asked to Bowl 3 games & attendant said that they charge by the hour for lanes. She said only league bowlers could get hourly rate. Then she charged $15 for a game.I will never ever step in that house again. I'm a league bowler who didn't have his card but still never again.$15 a game

Very nice place, people and lanes. The rails are now automatic which was convenient. The snack bar was great for a pretzel and slushy (the cashier even brought ba k change after realizing she overcharged us by accident!). My 9 yr. old and I had a great time and well recommended. We chose their $30 pkg deal for 6 games (3 each), shoes and tokens.

Had a wonderful time here Sat for my son's birthday! Mins away from home. Great customer service, clean, attentive and friendly staff! Many lanes to accommodate a group. Had some issues with the arcade games taking tokens but was taken care of by staff. Will be seeing you guys soon!

Great bowling alley but it is a Dry house so better for kids that for the adults if you like to have a drink while bowling. Equipment like the scoring system and TVs slightly aged but nothing bad. No major glitches while we were there. Snack bar was good. We had a salted pretzel that was made fresh and tasted amazing. Not sure about the other food but all you typical snack bar stuff. They have a decent sized arcade too which the kids love. Overall great alley.

Great family fun! Price was reasonable.

Meh I probably wouldn't go back. It's really pricey for a so so experience. We ended up paying $48 for 1.5 games for 4 people. We didn't realize it was by the hour not by the game so we spent a portion of time eating vs bowling which was a waste. The pizza is not very good, for $15 it's like a giant lunchable. But the pretzels on the other hand were really good, I wanted to eat another. It was a Saturday afternoon so it was pretty packed. There weren't any reasonable weighted balls left so we had to bowl w

Nice place. No music. No t mobile range inside

Fun bowling experience, family friendly place. Must say, I really appreciate their shoes being Velcro!! The animations and pictures you take was a nice, fun touch. The bumpers being automated was neat too.

The lanes are well taken care of. They have over 30 lanes with two off-set tables per pair of lanes so that there is plenty of seating. The food is good food and reasonably priced. They have a very family friendly atmosphere. They do not sell any alcohol on the premises. They have a pro-shop on site.

I haven't been bowling in years. This establishment was clean and employees were friendly. We will return

My family and I enjoyed the hours that we spent bowling together here. There is no food served at this location but the vending machines contain enough snacks and cold beverages to fuel your body. Restrooms are clean. Knowledgeable and friendly service! Looking forward to coming back soon. Thanks for a great time.

We had an amazing experience hosting a party of 30 people at the Lanes! Every manager we spoke with, emailed with, or met with in person provided phenomenal customer service and were so accommodating and pleasant. Our Chick-fil-A Team will definitely be back!

Good place to bowl. Nice service, especially because they sold socks whenever two people in our family bowling forgot them. However, there is one small complaint I need to say: The scoreboards are sometimes inaccurate. I just notice it. Besides the place having a lot of people on Saturday/Sunday, I think it is a pretty nice bowling alley, quite clean.

Great place for the kids. Ada is awesome

They hosted special Olympics and did an amazing job handling the crowd. And the snack bar is really good.

Nice clean family friendly atmosphere. The food is actually good, I was pleasantly surprised and the prices are reasonable. Kids get half off for the summer so that's a plus.????

Me and my family enjoyed the bowling game here. Location and facilities are great..

Our church held an event here over the holiday and we couldn't be more pleased! Everyone I worked with was pleasant and had a great, helpful attitude. Will definitely be using them again in future Cary bowling events!

Good kid friendly place. They do allow drinks and snacks from outside which is nice.

10/10 nice and clean. Great atmosphere.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
