Boxcar Bar + Arcade

This was our first time here but we look forward to going back. My husband, myself and our 19 year old had a great time playing games. It was nice to be able to sit outside to take a break from the noise of the games. We had dinner plans but you can eat there as well. Glad we found Boxcar online when we were looking for something to do.

Nice place and mixed drinks ?? are not too expensive. The other patrons were very friendly ???????? and they even had a boxing game ?? that I used to play when I was a kid. Good evening!!

Boxcar has something for everyone. They have tons of affordable games. Unlike that big commercial brand arcade place. The food is made to order and arrives quickly. The back area has space for anything from a birthday to professional wrestling.

I can't give this place 5 stars, even though I enjoy it so much. Drinks are tasty and very reasonably priced, it's clean, staff is polite AND friendly. Pizza oven guys are awesome! My only real problem is that half the games are always broken. Other than that? Solid spot to hang.

Really cool place to meet up with friends for drinks and play games at the same time. Super busy on Friday nights and weekends because it's a super fun spot. Love the specials they have each day like their $5 Green Tea Shots on Fridays. A lot of arcade games to choose from and the prices aren't too bad compared to other arcades nowadays. If you want to try out their pizzas, I recommend the Pepperoni with Hot Honey. There is street parking and also a paid parking lot nearby.

I am an arcade lover! The retro games are what I love the most, like from Atari. The staff outside who scan your ID upon entry are friendly, but the staff inside are not. They are not helpful, and I thought about ordering a pizza inside. I made eye contact with the worker, but he never greeted me or asked me if I needed any help. Awesome spot for hanging out with family, friends or co-workers. Plenty of variety with games including arcade, racing, fighting, Guitar Hero, pool, pinball and more! Plenty of drinks and tasty pizza with quick and friendly service. Good value for the games too.

First time here with co-workers and it's an arcade for adults and kids but no kids after 7pm. They have a huge bar you can walk up to and get served. But only one girl was working the night I went, which was during the week, and you may have to wait a few minutes to be served a drink. The pizzeria was open and smelled delicious. Got two pizzas and it only cost me about $15 so great deal on food my beer was average price 7.50 which is also great especially since they have a couple ipas on draught. Brought my nephew and he ate en tire cheese pizza and bugged out on all the games.

Honestly, I just went for the free yoga. I had THE BEST TIME!! I can't wait to go back and enjoy time fantastic drink specials and fun games. If I had such a blast during yoga, I imagine it's an unforgettable experience once the bar opens.

Was in the area and found this place randomly. Decided to walk in and check it out. Place is huge and has really cool atmosphere. Tons of vintage arcade game options and new games. Plenty of games to choose from!! Great selection of drinks and prices are very affordable. Bar area is really big and place was fully staffed. Staff is friendly and service is fast. This is always my go to bar in Greensboro, if you want a chill vibe to hang out with friends to chat you have the outside seating, if you're on a date and wanna get to know that special someone you can play their arcade games and then make your way to the different seating areas to do so. The best part about this place is the deals on mimosas/champagne on Sundays. Hard to beat $2 mimosas and from my experience they're not weak. What a great place to hang out at! Roomy area with plenty of elbow room. Friendly staff and an amazing collection of old and new arcade machines. I'm into pinball and boxcar had all LE machines which is pretty unique to have in a public setting. The pizza from the food truck was great as well. I will return next time I'm in the area.

came here with a friend and his bf while they were visiting out of town. It was a Monday night around 8:30pm. It wasn't busy at first. First, we had our IDs checked. Guests must be over a certain age after a certain time. Inside, I was truly shocked. It has changed so much since the last time that I have been there. General parking does have a charge of 9 dollars for pm parking but worth it for ease of acces

I was invited by my place of work, and even had to rsvp and that even said bring your kids. Brought my bf who is 21, and myself as 20. They would not let me in the door as an adult without a parent or guardian. At 5pm in the day, the event was from 4 to 7pm. There is no option for a wristband or hand stamp for under 21. They need to do better.

Boxcar is amazing fun for Kids and Adults. With Adult only play after 7 there's something for everyone. Drinks were good and well priced. Food was piping hot and freshly prepared. Lots of different types of games and plenty of space. We are already planning our next game night!

Nice place. HUGE gaming area and plenty of space to walk around. Excellent service. Pizza truck outside for ordering food. Huge outside porch with tables and chairs. Lots of video games with Skeet Ball and Air Hockey. Hard to find free parking but there is an adjacent paid parking lot across the tracks, $4 a space (cash only machine, no change).

An absolutely amazing place. Hours of fun to be had and there are games for all ages and skill levels. The staff were wonderful and service was fast. The games are affordable so a little money lasts a long time, especially if you play the classic games. There is great food and plenty of drink options. Usual go to place for Arcade! This has a great vibe to kill time late night on weekends. They do $5 drinks and usually drinks are cheap. Few of the Arcade games are faulty & you might lose a few quarters just stuck in and unable to play.

This place was great! We were there for a reception and it was a wonderful surprise! They are a pizzeria, loved their pizza as they had my vegan cheese! They have a large arcade with many older favorites, lots of pinball, dance dance and too many to mention! And last but not least they have full bars available! Everyone had a great time! I had the privilege of hosting a welcome party at Boxcar the night before our wedding and WOW did we have an amazing time!!! The atmosphere, service and food were all incredible, but the highlight was how effortless and accommodating Ripley made the process. Whether it was menu adjustments, signature drinks, or asking another ten thousand questions, Ripley?s responsiveness made the entire planning process a BREEZE. The private room was also beautiful and I highly recommend the space for any private events!!

I appreciate that the staff takes extra measures to make sure everyone is having a good time while feeling completely safe and comfortable. This place was a real find - friendly, fun and active. I went with my son (28) and daughter (32) and it was a great time for all of us. After looking around there for a while I thought this would be a nice place for an evening date, too. We ordered a pizza and it was really tasty. All three of us couldn't believe how good it was. The bartenders were also spot on. They were patient, knowledgeable, and good at making drinks and offering drink suggestions. Definitely going back:)

This is such a fun place to go! I love visiting during the weekdays when it's less crowded. They have fun old school games to play like pinballs, arcade machines, skeet ball, etc. The selection is drinks is really good and recently they added an in-house pizzeria to make fresh food although I didn't try it, it smelled amazing (definitely will check it out during our next visit). Nostalgic and pretty cool for an adult to be able to have an adult beverage and reminisce about the good old days of joystick games and wasted Saturday afternoons. I've only ever had the pizza, and played the games and let me tell you the pizza is literally the best I've ever had! The sauce is amazing the mozzarella is really high quality and the ratio of everything is great which makes for a really great pizza! The games are fun too and they have plenty of drinks to offer!

The games are great and the staff is amazing, but some recent changes have made me rate this 2 stars. They stopped opening tabs which is really rare for a downtown bar, and also a huge headache on busy nights when it takes everyone longer to pay for each individual drink. Also they moved the touchscreen to pay behind the bar and you have to reach over the entire bar and often other people's drinks in order to pay. Honestly these changes don't really make sense and it just makes the experience a little more

Very cool arcade and bar downtown. They have tons of pinball, skeeball, racing, shooting, foosball, and air hockey games not to mention a fully stocked bar with liquor and beer. They also have a new ?? pizza truck outside with great wood-fired pizzas and they also have a ? handicap accessible parking, entrances, and restrooms.

Really fun little arcade tucked away in Greensboro. Wasn't too busy when we went so we didn't wait to play any games or anything like that. Drink prices were pretty fair. I'd only complain that I wish they had more games, but it was still fun.

I still don't understand the attack on ice coffee. I literally just purchased one from a local spot then kids wanted pizza and arcade. I missed where iced coffee was sold at boxcar. It's not like competition? I would not forgo my iced coffee and be like guess I'll just get a beer. So I stood outside while kids ate inside. Absolutely ridiculous. Also parking lot behind boxcar is $10 whether there for 2 min or 2 hours.

Always a good time. Make sure to check out the back room with the 4-player pac man, skeeball, and air hockey tables. Edit: my brother got married here last weekend. They have a special event room and an adorable brick & ivy courtyard beyond that make this the perfect spot for a cute yet lowkey & affordable wedding venue.

A fun place for the family during the day. I'm glad we have a fun arcade for everyone to enjoy! My kid loves this place and we're always happy to take him there. Pizza is good and I like all the renovations they've made.

My only complaint would be that it's a few arcade games that do not work. But besides that, fair drink prices. I have not tried the pizzas, but it looks ??. Great places to take the kid during the daylight hours to get a drink and also to spend some time with them in a fun space.

12:32 A.M. | Sun 13th. I'm sorry but right by the second exit, I saw a security fighting with a guy to take over his hand gun. And how on earth did a guy get in to a point of the second exit with a hand gun??? Had my group of friends witnessing it happen right in front of them and told them we had to go. Others left too. Boxcar is always a fun time. It's a great way to spend a couple hours. It's always clean and the bartenders are nice. Miss the popcorn machine though!
