Great candlepin bowling alley. They have a good selection of arcade games, a nice grill and a bar. The buffalo chicken was good but could have been a tad bit cheaper. Overall staff were very friendly. Pizza was great and cooked well.
Great place to take the family or friends if you're looking for something to do. It's a smallish bowling alley but it's very fun and the prices are reasonable. Staff is very kind
Had a great time..first time Candlepin Bowling. The man at the desk was so helpful explaining the game and how to score. We didn't try the food so I can't review that.
Staff is always friendly and helpful. Bowling is fantastic. I love that it's paper score card. Makes it more fun keeping score. Arcade is a must after bowling.
We had a gift certificate and really enjoyed the unlimited bowling on Friday night. It was a little crazy with a bunch of kids early in the night, but they mostly let by 9 or so, and the last hour was very pleasant. Very friendly staff and accommodating manager (our gift card was for so many people and a pizza, etc. But they happily converted it to the unlimited price), and it worked out very nicely. My younger children were sad they couldn't come this trip, but we'll be back! See our attached picture -
Amazing local alley serving up hot and ready nostalgia for candle pin bowling. All manual, cheap prices, friendly staff, and some arcade games to boot. Definitely go here! Kids and parents loved it equally
Took the whole family here for a chill night out. Had a great time, and good food. If you are looking for a change of pace , I highly recommend it!
Who woulda thought such good food would come from a bowling alley! Tried them the first time as someone raved about their burgers. Husband said they were one of the best around our area. I've had a few things, chicken tenders are yummy & crispy, fries are good, honestly I've never ordered something that wasn't good. The staff is friendly, usually get take out, as there's limited seating in the bar area, but when we do, service is good and fast. Definitely try the burgers!! They are big, and very tasty
Cute bowling alley and reasonably priced. We went on a Sunday afternoon and only one other lane was being used. The facility including the bathroom was clean and well taken care of. We didn't eat there we just bowled and had some fun!
Our family had a blast. They offer bumper lanes for a set price per hour which was great for our kiddos. There is a small arcade on site which was fun as well. The food and drinks were good and the service was amazing.
I was there with my daughter for her first grade fieldtrip and they made the kids so happy including mysic requests and glow bowling at 9:30 am.
Fantastic alley, owner was super friendly and the lanes were in great shape. I will definitely be returning. Didn't try the food but a waitress offered while we there. 10/10 food service ??
Great experience with the Scouts! Awesome outing!
The chipotle chicken tenders are amazing! Never had anything I didn't enjoy here.
People are great Ryan at the front desk is nice and Shanon the bar tender is awesome 100% would recommend
This is old fashioned candle pin bowling. Great friendly staff. No high tech scoring but the gentleman at the counter gave me directions on the back of the scoring sheet. Has good food and arcade. Reasonable pricing made it easy to take the whole family.
Fun cheap bowling. But the place really needs updating. Or at least cleaning. The air hockey table has years of grime on it. The lanes are too slippery. The shoes need to be replaced. But the price is pretty great.
Ryan is the man, this place hasn't changed a bit since I was a kid and I love it. The bar and grille is employed with a super friendly staff and I will always enjoy hanging here.
It was a great place to take my daughter and my sister. It was fun. We all had fun here with a friends family. It was their sons birthday. I'm new to the area and it was great to see more of what new hampshire had to offer. Definetly going again! Soon
I came here to the arcade with my friend and we played the tickle monster game we won the jackpot of 200 once and kept getting 75 after that when we went to go deposit our tickets we broke the macine the guy came and helped us we got banned for life. But at the end we got like 537 tickets but the nice guy rounded it up to 600 we got two ballon swords for 200 each and we had 200 left we both wanted fairy wands that were 110 tickets each the guy said it was close enough and let us have them... 5 STARS
Just had another great experience at Bowling Acres. The staff made a very minor error on a food order and then more than made up for it ten-fold. I've been here more than a few times, and without doubt, the food is beyond anything you will find at your typical bowling alley (by FAR, the best burger around for miles -- this alone is worth the visit). And the staff is extremely nice, always super helpful. If you're looking for a fun night out, food, bowling, games in a family friendly atmosphere, or just
Called to get some pricing and the woman just said go online and look at our menu and hung up on me while I was still midsentence. Pretty rude
I took my 5 year old son here today with my mom. First I will say the guy behind the counter was nice so he had nothing to do with my review. But the building itself is gross. The roof was all water stained and half the arcades didn't work. Just very run down and needs to be updated and cleaned. I haven't been to a bowling alley we're you have to write your score down in a long time. Don't even get me started on the bathroom. Overall I just wouldn't recommend at all, which is sad because it was my sons firs
The friendliest bartenders in town, and a suprisingly good beer selection for a bowling alley. This has been a great place to meet up with families. The food is decent overall (the pizza is bad even by New Hampshire standards). Bowl, then grab a pitcher and send the kids to the arcade. It's just enough of an arcade to entertain the kids without breaking the bank.
This was my first time Candlepin Bowling. It was actually quite fun. I'd never heard of it before and had never seen bocce ball sized bowling balls before. I recently injured my wrists at work, so it felt good being able to actually bowl again. The place seemed a little chaotic and some of the parents weren't keeping control of their kids. It was a little frustrating always telling kids to stop taking our bowling balls. Other than that, it was a great experience.
The food and bowling was great. The arcade had a lot of machines not working correctly. However they were very quick to refund your money or try to fix the problem.
The place was "okay" because it was the place for my grandson's birthday party and the kids seemed to have a good time bowling and playing arcade games. I am surprised that Code Enforcement hasn't closed the place. The water-stained ceiling probably hides mold and mildew!
I can't believe how good the food is at this place. Chicken wings, bacon cheeseburger subs, pizza, salads, everything else, it is all top notch! I regret it took me so long to try it. Total hidden gem of Peterborough. These guys should open up at a bigger location with seating.
This is a great local place to see old friends and eat a good meal. I had the fried chicken salad. It was excellent and even though I got the small portion still had plenty for a meal the next day.
Fun for the family. Has an arcade in addition to the bowling alleys. You can get some good food and alcohol too. Bar area is seperate from the rest, so feel free to bring the kids without feeling awkward.
The only family fun in Peterborough is found here. What bowling alley doesn't look like its stuck in the 70s? This one is no exception, but it's clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. They also have a bar and grill and the pizza is awesome.
Now fianc?e (then just a stranger) led us here thinking it was real bowling. We were all disappointed but we had already gone so far. We decided to give it a try and I still won so overall not a bad trip and we still make fun of her to this day
I brought my family there today and the place is really nice. It was a bit expensive, but my kids had so much fun. And it was nostalgic for me seeing all the old school arcade games.
The bowling (candlepin) is well-priced, and glow bowling on Fridays and Saturdays (especially the $10 deal on Fridays) keeps me coming back often, and with friends. The grill has fantastic food, from curly fries to pizza and mozzarella sticks. I have literally walked two miles to get one of their grilled chicken calzones. 10/10, will be visiting again soon.
Hungry ? In Peterborough area? ... you need to go here . Best pizza in the area super awesome wings. A bowling alley, arcade .. all in one place . Love these people they are masters of hospitality . Having my daughters birthday party there.
Good fun, bowling with bumpers available, and a quarter arcade (most of the games cost .50 cents) Attached resteraunt with decent food is convenient. The price is extremely reasonable, $3 per player per string or $24 for an hour on a bumper lane. They also have glow bowling, I think its on Friday and Saturday nights.
A nice vintage 1962 center. Real wood lanes, Brunswick Gold Crown decor. Bowl Mor pinsetters. Could use a refreshing.
Great place to spend the day! My son loves to save up his quarters and come win tickets he can trade for little prizes. Pizza is good and bowling is affordable!
Took my mom & son to meet a friend for candlepin bowling. Rental shoes were clean and comfortable. Bumper lanes make the game more fun to play with young children. Some of the balls were damaged, but still functional. Reasonable rates. We enjoyed few arcade games, skiball, air hockey, deal or no deal, a racing game. We didnt get any food today, but we enjoyed their food in the past. (Delicious supreme pizza & battered mozzarella sticks.)
Super fun affordable bowling experience. With full food service. Great way to spend a couple hours.
Very rustic. This place brought me back to my childhood with it's decor and atmosphere. It was a lot of fun.
best burgers, you're not going to find a better burger ANYWHERE ??
Epic bike nights were at this venue. The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet. Love the food and atmosphere.
Great food and a nice evening with the family. Support your local business. Have fun bowling ??
Really good burgers cooked to order... Very hard to find a burger that isn't way overcooked... Two thumbs up... Seafood is fresh and tasty as well...
They put on a very nice Birthday for my great nephews birthday party,, ???? staff was very helpful,,
Very confusing in terms of people picking up and people ordering in house. The food is quite good. I would highly recommend.
Had a great time. I've never been candlestick bowling before
Candlepin Bowling has become an endangered species. You can't find a more authentic candlepin experience than at Bowling Acres - the name is a very funny misnomer. Not packed with modern amenities - though it has pin-setting, of course. You'll be keeping your own score(s). We saw a lot of kids having a blast - candlepin is considerably more fun for them (especially with gutter rails) than tenpin. My friend from California and I were ... um, challenged to match some fraction of our typical tenpin scores.
Best salads! Great selection of various fresh made food from burgers to pizza, salads and seafood! Very friendly staff! Worth the stop!
Cool place... Beer is good... Did not have the food... Looked good though for what it is... A hole in the wall bowling alley...
Great spot for a bday party Kids and adults had a good time with bowling and pizza also the arcades were great
I 5hink it was $11 for a cheeseburger, $4 for a twisted tea, $2 for a 20oz bottled soda. $2 less for a burger without cheese, expensive slice of cheese.
Not to many lanes...I think there was only about 15. Old fashion look bowling. You keep your own score, press the reset button to get new pins.
First thought was to leave.... we have no children with us two adults only ..well, have to say we had a blast met some really nice people would go back again.
This place is the ultimate triple threat: uncomputerized candlepin bowling, beer ranging from discount to DIPA and very impressive pizza with amazing crust (2nd only to Pizza Barn.)
Always a good time! Good food & decent variety of drinks! I love how there's a good variety of arcade games too!
Best pizza in town. Burgers too. Bowling alley is a lot of fun. Also san of school kinda arcade area.
My family loves this place! It's fun, everyone is friendly & the food is terrific.

Kids love it! Bowling, arcade, and pizza all in one local spot=a fun famy night out.
always a fun place to hang out as a kid, food was good and the place is clean
Super fun place for the kids. The pizza and wings were great!
Great little town bowling! great staff and amazing food! They offer glow bowling on Friday nights and also have bowling leagues which are a blast!
Best chicken parm sandwich around. Huge- my husband and I split it, but we don't split the beer.
Best salads! great calzones! The owners are awesome everybody's friendly great place
Been going here almost once or twice a month and it's always fun and great for practice or to do one of their leagues
Really cute retro bowling alley and the staek and cheese was really good!!!!
Nice family run bowling place. Video games and air hockey. Fair prices. A Bar that serves food and alcohol.
Owner is the nicest guy. Great establishment
Had a great time with all the grandkids and enjoyed the pizza and fries.
The house pizza was very good. We got two so we'd have leftovers

Some of the best burgers and food you can get in town
Very expensive pizza, though it's good

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
