Bowlero Overland Park

Bowlero Overland Park

Reviews Summary

The bowling alley receives mixed but generally positive feedback, with many praising friendly staff, cleanliness, and good food. Several reviews highlight excellent service from specific employees, enhancing the experience. However, pricing is a common complaint, with many finding it expensive, especially for shoe rentals and per-game charges. Some note outdated equipment or lane issues, while others appreciate recent renovations. Family-friendly and group-friendly atmospheres are frequently mentioned, though a few had poor experiences with delays or maintenance problems. Overall, it’s seen as a fun venue with standout service but questionable value for money.

Customer Reviews

We came here to relax after moving our son off campus. It wasn't busy when we got there around 8 p.m., but it got busier as the night went on. I would recommend going when they have their unlimited bowling special, which includes unlimited bowling and shoe rental. Service was excellent!

We had a blast here! The restaurant is currently being remodeled, (summer '24,) but the bowing is good. The lanes were a bit too slick, but otherwise, it's a great place to hang with your family or friends!

Service was great, I was debating about a 3 or a 4 star rating for these guys, and the staff made me push towards a 4 star rating. Prices do seem to be a little inflated but given the current circumstances I'm glad they're able to stay afloat, so paying a premium for it is reasonable. It's a great place for group meetups, it just wasn't exactly what we were looking for, and our group ended up leaving to a bar downtown instead. We still had fun here though, and the food was great!

This place is night & day from when they first took over AMF College Lanes. They actually went in and updated it completely and truly created a great atmosphere. Pitchers of IPA a bit pricey at almost $30 a pitcher, but take advantage of Groupon discounts while they last! We will check out the menu on Father's Day!

Riley the AGM was a pleasure to work with. He made our company event spectacular by having our lanes ready upon arrival and ensured that we had what we needed during our event. Thanks for all you do!

Way too expensive and charging shoe rental per game per person is ridiculous. Lanes aren't in the best condition, the balls are all old, have 4 holes and are no longer round. For some reason they decided to be different and change the 10th frame rules. You don't get the extra turn for a spare and you don't get your other 2 turns for a strike. I'd say the best this alley is for is leagues. No issues with the staff and they do have bumpers on every lane.

We stopped in for the garlic parm fries. They were delicious but $14 for an order of fries is outrageously expensive. The service was slow and not very friendly. I asked for them to go and they brought them out on a plate and had to go back and get me a to go container.

Super clean, yummy food, great service especially the assistant manager Riley!!! He was so helpful and kind, we had the best time bowling!!!!

The atmosphere is fantastic, there are a lot of regulars that are extremely welcoming to newer bowlers and happily help out with tips and make the experience even more enjoyable. After a couple visits you'll feel like family.

I purchased a Groupon to use for bowling. You aren't allowed to reserve a bowling time with Groupon. When we showed up, I mentioned I had a Groupon to use and the guy at the front counter was very RUDE. They were busy, so I understood that we would have to wait until 2 lanes came open together and I was ok with that. We played in the arcade until they were ready. When we got a text to go back to the counter, the guy was extremely rude again, for no reason at all! We got settled into our lanes and bowled fo

Charge by the game not by the hour. Portion size is small considering the price. But overall, it's a great environment. Just be ready to spend some money of you have a family and want to eat.

Nice place. So many lanes to bowl. Didn't get a chance to taste the food. However amazing place to spend time with your loved ones.

I really enjoyed the lane and the place was very clean with great parking. Next need to try the food because it looked good from what I seen around me.

They could usually use a few more people working it seems, but they do a good job and the place is well kept after the recent updates. Riley specifically is the guy keeping this place alive- sometimes single handedly it seems. Lanes are good, pinsetters are decent on most lanes, but do act up or mess up the score occasionally. Prices are okay generally. Food and drink options are solid, and the pro shop is a good place for a quick stop if needed. Wish that they had more online services available for leagu

Bowlero is terrible! Have had 2 extremely poor experiences in this building. The most recent was a PBA win-a-spot where my new equipment was damaged due to OSHA policies; they don't oil the first 2 feet of the lane! I strongly recommend to support a family owned bowling centers and stop supporting such poor quality, overpriced service and product.

It was actually a lot of fun! Especially because I won hahahaha ??

Such a disappointing time! First of all they are way overpriced to other lanes in KC. They sent us out on lanes that had NOT been oiled in 7 days. I can't believe they actually admitted that. Thank god they refunded us but I totally feel for all the others who got ripped off. Never going back. They should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage!

Riley was absolutely exceptional in helping my group and i. He is skilled in costumer service to the point my jaw actually dropped. this is an amazing place for families and events. highly recommend!!!

$10 a game and $6 show rental is ridiculous. Ward Parkway Lanes 15 minutes away of $6.25 a game. And these lanes are so dry they're almost unplayable. We won't be returning. And they handled me a receipt with an option for a tip... Lmfao no thanks

Bowlero is clean and fun and when we had an issue they gave us 30 extra minutes for free. We liked that a variety of balls were pure selected and available at our lane.

Newly remodeled. Nice clean shoes lots of lanes and friendly staff.

We had to move lanes because our lane broke and then the other lane we got moved into was acting. jinxing, but still a blast.

In 2020, it was a regular no frills old school bowling alley. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I usually felt that i got my money's worth. I was in a league which did provide some good deals. In addition, i really admired that they host a special needs bowling league. Now it's 2025. Bowlero is running the site. Regardless of what you think of the corporation, the staff is still friendly and helpful. They have been remodeling for awhile but when it's done it should be pretty nice. Some of their des

I really enjoyed the service here and for a first time, couldn't have had a better experience. The lanes are oiled every night and it had great availability during a league night. The staff were nice and the atmosphere is really chill. Great experience. (Bowled myself a high score 216 ??)

Blake, Luke and the team did an awesome job for my daughters 5th birthday party! Everything was set up, ready to go! Food came out hot and fresh and was delicious! Staff did an awesome job with accommodating anything we did! If you are wanting to throw a birthday party for anyone, AMF College Lanes is the place to go!!! We will be back with another party soon!!

Went there on a Friday night for their 8pm to close special. I had not been here in several years and was pleasantly surprised with the experience. Great time, well managed and clean alley. Will definitely be back again soon.

I played really well today on a Wednesday after Christmas. There was about a 20 minute wait until an open lane but during that time we played pool. The ball return system worked good and the scorekeeper on the tv did good.there is a league at 5 on Wednesday?s but it only takes up about 6 lanes. Staff was friendly and I can't wait to come back!

Lanes are in great shape, staff was incredible! I'll be coming back very soon

This place is so clean and fun after it was renovated!! Riley, the manager is a customer service superstar and really made our experience as a large party amazing!! Will definitely be back because of his exceptional service. Thanks Riley and team!!

Brought the family here for some fun and had a wonderful time. Jesse And the team at AMF Bowling are phenomenal!

The kids have had a blast coming to the arcade here! Friendly and clean environment!

I usually come to this place to practice for a league since its right down the street & love it, but recently the last few times I have went, prices tend to go up often now, lanes are usually super dry & balls get stuck every 3 frames or so which throws off any momentum you have going. Hard to get real practice. Staff on the other hand are great.

8 dollars to bowl 1 game and 6 dollars shoe rental. If you can handle all that then you might like it.

Our party attendant, Duy Nguyen, was absolutely fantastic! He was constantly checking in on us, making sure our food was restocked, engaging with my parents whose birthday we celebrated, and went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect night! Riley, the Manager, was the first individual we encountered at arrival/check-in and he set the tone for the amazing atmosphere of service and fun! He went above and beyond to ensure our party was perfect. He even brought us beverages table-side! I cannot say e

I reserved a party for my son?s birthday and despite having a misunderstanding regarding payment for ?adult plates? when reserving the party via phone, the staff kindly and graciously understood. They advised me that they were not going to charge me extra for the extra adult plates this time bc they recognized it was miscommunication at the time I reserved the party. All of the staff were very friendly and professional and seemed to be happy to be there to help. I highly recommend this bowling alley, as the

Great place to hang out. Good atmosphere, good food and good service!

very nice and helpful staff. i?ve got 2 problems with this place though 1. the screens above the pins are incredibly distracting. half the screens play a music video, which is understandable but still distracting. the real problem is that the other half of the screens play weird tiktok style compilation videos. extremely distracting and overstimulating, not to mention unnecessary. there's really no reason to play these videos especially when those screens could be an awesome opportunity to play some kind

Such a good date night spot! Probably the cleanest bowling alley and arcade I've ever been to. HIGHLY recommend.

very nice atmosphere and the employees are very polite and helpful.

The birthday package was definitely a good deal, bowling, unlimited pizza for the kids, and $10 at the arcade.

$5 shoe rental, $7 per game per person, decent food and drinks for a bowling alley. Arcade is just sad. But overall, 8d go back. Drinks were worth the money and we were placed on the other side of youngins, plus for us!

Last Friday evening myself, my daughter, and my boyfriend wanted to go bowling. I wanted to make sure we could get a lane, so I booked a lane online earlier in the day. I was shocked when the total for an hour and a half of bowling and shoe rental was $120. For three of us! But, I heard that it had recently been renovated and I guess I kind expected it to be a more upscale experience, so I went for it. I was wrong. It looks like they had done some cosmetic upgrades and it was clean, but the main struc

What a transformation! We had an adult party here and everything was just perfect. The building is newly renovated and very clean--no old musty bowling alley here! The staff were incredibly helpful and thoughtful the entire evening and really made this a birthday to remember. The bartender was attentive and mixed up consistently excellent cocktails. We ordered chips with spinach dip-excellent. Boneless chicken wings-a little heavy on the breading, but perfectly cooked. And pepperoni pizzas-average pizza for

Had a blast drinks over priced but had a good time

I recently came in with a group of work friends to waste a few hours on a Saturday and enjoyed myself over all. New cosmetic updates on the interior are much better than the way AMF looked for two decades, food was decent and a welcomed surprise on the improvements they've made with it, and the drink/bar selection is also decent but I can't get past the cost of how pricey it's gotten to do something as low key as bowling. We had 5 people in our group but $350 is a lot of money for two hours of bowling, 5 pl

I've never been here before. We walked in, and the guy behind the counter ignored us. So, we looked around, came back to the counter and got behind a couple who were checking in. As we stood there, another couple slid up to the counter and the worker guy took them next instead of us. The guy who cut mumbled "sorry didn't mean to cut..." which is clearly a lie. But then the worker guy said to the cutters, "No, no, you guys are good, you were in line". Really? It's like he wanted us to leave. We walked out an

I bowl here more than once a week. The lanes are better than everyone else in the area and they have a very friendly staff. My only complaint would be that they close too early.

First time bowling here and really enjoyed the people, the lanes and it even has a brand new arcade along with a bowling pro shop. The availability during league nights was also great. All in all a great experience.

For our special event, the entire team was friendly and ready-to-go when we arrived. We had a lot of ongoing questions, and they were promptly addressed. Everyone was very patient with us and had great ideas about how to make it an enjoyable evening for our group. They truly went above and beyond!! I'd like to acknowledge Tina who helped us select the package and patiently fielded lots of follow-up questions, Riley the manager, who fielded many questions all night and was very patient and helpful, James and

Had great time! Very impressed with the overall experience. Reservation and check-in process was very smooth. The staff was very attentive to our group. Drinks and food were great. Will definitely be back!

This place is nothing more than an over priced night club. It's too dark, too loud to hold a conversation, if you have a little one that needs the bumpers put up they have to be up the entire game for everyone and there are giant screens above the lanes that are not appropriate for children as it shows music videos by female music artists who are practically naked while dancing provocatively mixed with clips of people injuring themselves doing flips and stunts. We were there at 4pm on a Saturday when it sho

Sorry for being annoying Customer! But come on!! The women?s restroom so dirty like it's in a rave festival.. they don't have a kitchen (I think it's pretty important to mention that on the website!!!!!!) Just bed exercise

Went on Valentine?s Day (Wednesday night) and there were leagues playing but we were able to get a lane still within about 20 mins. It was a good experience. The shoes were the only problem but they are like any other bowling alley.

Riley helped out my group immensely. We would not have had a good time without him. Amazing service and clean friendly environment 10/10 thank you Riley!!

Everything was very clean and the pizza was surprisingly phenomenal! Only issue I had is that there were a lot of dead roaches on the floor in the arcade. It is pretty far away from the food prep area, but still gross

The place looks nice, but faulty equipment coupled with lackluster customer service means we will be looking elsewhere to bowl from now on. It took us two hours to bowl one game and that was mostly due to waiting 5-8 minutes for the ball return every time. When YOUR equipment messes up and you blame it on the customers having "too lightweight of balls"(our balls were 10, 14, and 15 pounds respectively), then brag about how your balls always return right away (*slow claps for you) don't expect those customer

$48 for two adults and one child to bowl just one game just doesn't seem worth it

Expensive but lanes were nice. Shoes were good shape. Balls looked clean and bathrooms stocked and well kept. The service was slower but with everywhere being short staffed it's not surprising! Once the lovely dark haired bartender lady got there service picked up significantly she was kind and courteous as well.

I recently had the chance to bowl at Bowlero Overland Park with some friends, and it was a nice place. However, I wish I had known beforehand that the kitchen was being renovated. Aside from that, everything was great!

They charge per player not per game/round so the value is not great. The place was also basically empty and they put us right next to a child that kept throwing the ball down the wrong lane.

It was busy when we got there but staff were attentive and helpful. Also we reserved our lane in advance and they personalized it with our name in a frame, which was a nice touch.

The exterior of the building is unimpressive. The entry makes you want to turn around. Once you get past that, it is all good. The facility is clean, neat and in good shape. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a large group visit and take over one third of the facility. We got pizza and drinks along with shoes and unlimited bowling. Overall, we enjoyed the outing and would be happy to go here again.

First time ever going to this place and I'll be back! The man behind the counter Doug was really hospitable and helpful. Got us taken care of.

The food, drinks and service were excellent

Went to College Lanes this weekend and Manager was extremely rude and seemed to not care about the customers at all. The other manager ( I believe he was a manager) was very snappy at front desk.Way too expensive for very average if less bowling experience and the food was way too pricy for bar food. Bar is extremely slow and we had waited for ever for a simple drink. Never coming back?. Poor customer service, company is a scam, way too expensive and not to mention the place smells absolutely horrible. Neve

Just came here for the first time and it was godly expensive compared to where I go in Lawrence Kansas. Every player had to pay $24.19 just to play ! What happened to the good ole days where if you secure the lane you can have anyone play. Clearly this establishment went over budget on the remold an has to make that money back charging an arm and leg!!!! ( WILL NOT EVER COME BACK ) !!!!

Came in on a whim and in a pinch and Riley was an absolute life saver!!! Friendly staff, great environment, couldn't have asked for a better experience!!

Good environment and fair pricing. Wish the bar had more options but that could have been due to ongoing construction taking place.

Great bartender! Will return

Clean and organized, the orange led lights were very cool and the arcade room had lots of fun looking games. Was there for a bowling fundraiser event and they were all pretty wonderful. Definitely returning!

So fun and such a nice atmosphere!! Chris who I believe is the manager and runs the whole show is soooo so so nice and makes the experience so much better than it already is. He is so nice and helpful and sets the tone for the whole experience! We came back twice in one week because of how great his service and the experience was!

I love this place. The people are always really nice and super helpful! I was helped by a gentleman named Cooper. Cooper went above and beyond to make sure my family and I were comfortable and well accommodated. Cooper turned what would be a great experience into an amazing experience. PROMOTE THIS MAN!!

Place is nice, but seems like they would have better prices, especially during renovations. No food, EXTREMELY limited bar, but still want $10 a game and $6 for shoes?

The cleanest bowling alley I have ever been to. We went for a party, and the manager came out and checked on us to make sure we were okay. We had prompt service whenever there was an issue with our lane. Because of an issue they gave us an extra 15 minutes of play time. Food was great. I would have loved to see another option aside from diet Pepsi for those of us who don't prefer to consume sugar, BUT it's a bowling alley. Otherwise all was well!

This location didn't stick out any compared to others I been too but maybe a bit more cleaner. I spent $160 though for 90 min of bowling, ( 2 games adult + 4 children) 1 cheese pizza and chicken tenders. I honestly could of spent half that if I went to mission bowl. Kids wouldn't of known the difference of cleanliness. So I guess if you are wanting to budget I wouldn't pick this location. $6 for shoe rental just seems outrages. Just my opinion though!

Every time I have visited this establishment, I have always enjoyed the experience. The staff has always been friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. I love the spaciousness and the cleanliness of this establishment. I loved how after families had finished their parties, the staff was prompt at clearing the remains to ensure the cleanliness. A family friendly environment and I also love the games in the arcade. Kudos to the staff ??

The remodel is welcome and a nice update to the College lanes. However, the attitude and service of the staff is something to improve on. We came with open wallets and open hearts but the disgruntled employees made us feel not welcome. I look forward to improved service on our next visit, but today was certainly a let down.

Terriblec customer service. Will never come back

We had a birthday party for our son who was turning 8 here. It was WONDERFUL. It wasn't "cheap" but it was no more expensive than a typical party we would throw for him (venue, food, drinks, cake, etc.). And AMF did EVERYTHING. The entire staff was so helpful and friendly. We had more food and drink than we could eat, and they even offered to send the leftovers home with us. They had put out decorations and a personalized sign for our son. And all the kids loved the included arcade cards. HIGHLY RECOMMEND t

Worst family bowling experience ever today. We bowled only 2 games for a family of 4 and it took us over 2 hours. The pins were not being reset at all, we would have to sit 5 minutes between bowlers. We told the attendant halfway through our first game and he said it was because they didn't have enough pins, if that's the case why did the people next to us not have any problems? We even joked with the family about them getting done and starting another game before we were only half done with our game. I wen

Sherrie, Aaron and Chris were such amazing people. They were beyond accommodating. Our party of 7 will definitely be back. The bar had amazing drinks and everyone looked like they loved their job. Thank you all so much for making our night. We were in after someone in our party lost a very close loved one and it was the memorial today. I can't explain how much meant so much to us.

We went to a family birthday party there today and couldn't have been more pleased! The manager was very attentive and friendly. The food was good and replenished frequently. We had a group with ages from 4 to 70 and everyone had a great time!

I've been to several bowling alleys/arcades in the area, and this place is THE BEST! It's very clean, and the staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. As much as I want to keep this place a secret so I don't have to share the best air hockey table around, this place deserves to be crowded every single day. For those who use wheelchairs, my wife uses one, and this alley is very accessible.

Went on a Friday night and paid $30 per person for unlimited bowling until 12am. At 10:00pm they made an announcement saying the bar was closing in 30 minutes which seemed strange. They then made another announcement at 10:30 saying they were closing at 11pm, instead of midnight without any notice. Asked the manager if they close at 11pm every weekend, he said the ?boss said we weren't making enough money so we're closing early.? They made no mention of it until 30 minutes before and no offers of refunds or

Our buddies at Bowlero take care of this out of town team multiple times a week. The local leadership knows who we are and gets us good lanes and good service weekly. I absolutely appreciate them.

Whoever the manager was who worked on June 15, 2022 from 6 to 9, was amazing. The place was full. He was having to turn people away because it was so busy. And that manager was a blur of activity. I had brought a large group of middle schoolers. They kept getting their ball stuck, jammed, messed up, and that manger graciously kept helping out or sending help plus dealing the scores and scores of other people. He was amazing.

A lot of fun, but rather pricey. The projection screens are more of an annoyance than adding anything useful, and none of the videos sync with the music they have blaring. Some of the balls have fairly significant chips in them as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
