Bowlero Charlottesville is such a fun spot with an awesome mix of bowling and arcade games?it's basically the perfect place to hang out with friends and let loose for a few hours. The food was decent, nothing gourmet, but exactly what you'd expect (and want) for a night of games and good vibes. What really stood out, though, was the service?friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. One of my favorite memories from my time in Charlottesville happened here. Whether you're celebrating something or just want a
have gone here for a while and there's a LOT of problems. went in today and apparently they had to service for anything? no music playing,no air conditioning and can only pay with cash. so okay that's fine? went up to order food and i have a summer pass that gives a discount to all food. i ask for the food and show them my pass and they say they can't give a discount because their system is down. i tell them they can just do it manually because clearly they are taking money and taking orders so they can do
I would leave zero stars if I could. The Bowlero staff claim that it is against their food and beverage license for people, even with dietary restrictions, to bring in anything...even something as simple as water. However, they will offer to charge you for water if you want to be served disgusting city/bottled water. I would not even recommend entertaining the idea of giving the place my business. The staff were extremely rude and not at all considerate to any form of dietary restrictions. To be honest,
This is not a family environment. Two times now I have tried to go here with my young children. They have music videos playing on giant screens and they are not suitable for children. There are half naked girls shaking their butts and other inappropriate stuff. My 5 year old saw a moment of the music video for lady Gaga diseased even though I tried to shield her eyes and she was traumatized and never wants to go back. If you don't know the imagery look up the music video. That was just one of many inappropr
Plans for the girls soccer game fell through due to rain so we hit up the bowling alley. Cool vibes, friendly staff, the girls definitely had fun. Had a big nacho plate which was pretty good to go with a few games. All in all 8/10.
Went there the last week of December. Lanes or something in the gutter broke my bowling ball. The staff handled it really well in the moment.... But it's almost been a full month and there's been absolutely zero contact from them. And they took my broken bowling ball, so I only have 1 photo of it.
If I could give them 10 ???????????????????? I would! Shout out to the entire staff but especially Jalani, Jordan and Briante. I'm a tour director and my group had a reservation for some fun and bowling. They had a blast! Music, arcade games and bowling entertained them for a couple of hours. The snacks and drinks were refilled and refreshed with no prompts. They gave us a great visit. Great space, clean bathrooms and nice space. Have a striking good time!?? I highly recommend this bowling alley.
Group of 12, prepaid $40/person. Never again! Drink/food service took forever and if they even got it right. Book for 2 hours. One lane constant freezing of the lane and had to reset. They gave an extra hour and STILL didn't finish 2nd game. Don't do the package plan if timed. Go by game and buy drinks/food separately. I haven't been here for 10+ years, and will be that long before I go back. More frustrations to make it a fun evening.
Love the atmosphere, staff is really nice to talk to. The summer season pass is an absolute must to have, I have 38 bucks and for the whole summer, once a day I can bowl 2 games and get a free shoes rental. Love it!
I went here with my friends, and I had so much fun here! My server her name was Maddie. She was very kind and respectful to us when we didn't really know what was going on and what to do. She treated us very respectfully and we will be back soon. five star!
We had a blast here. The environment is fun and entertaining. The staff was very nice and working their behinds off. They had a pretty good deal. 3 games of bowling and 5$ for arcade games plus shoes for around $23 a person. Only complaint is the lane malfunctioned a few times and delayed our games by 20 minutes in total. They did change our lane after a few malfunctions. Would be a 5 without the lane issues.
All 1 2 and 3 star reviews are wrong. Bowlero is a great place to be and you can't just judge a place like this as terrible cause you had one problem one time and never went there again l, I was also reading a 1 star review that said that they weren't allowed to bring in their own water cause of city regulations, you cannot blame Bowlero for this no everyone stand with me and silence the bowlero haters. And now the national anthem.
The service is good, but It's way too hot in this place. Definitely needs A/C fixed, it was hotter inside than outside.
I've gone here more times than I can count (multiple years of summer passes and regular games throughout the rest of the year). The food/drinks have gotten worse and it is taking a lot longer to get them -- like 40 minutes for a drink. The lanes keep breaking and no one is around to help when you call through the machine or good luck waiting in line at the front. People flat out ignore you when you try to wave them down. When balls or pins aren't stuck making the lane unusable, the machine isn't recording t
I have not had this much fun bowling in years! The staff was amazing and super kind, especially Kendall who helped us with all of our bowling activities! Highly recommend to anyone and everyone.
Visited this place last night with a few friends and had a wonderful experience. Our server, Maddie, was very on top of all of our needs whether it was refills or placing another order. 100% recommending this place to my friends!!
Great experience! Clean bathrooms, and very polite staff. Only thing I would say they need to do it get new bowling balls, the ones they have are ok, but they need to update a few.
Came down for a party for my nephew. Had an amazing time. Very clean establishment and very polite and kind workers. Had a fun time bowling and at the arcade. Food was very good awesome chicken tenders and pizza.
I took my children to enjoy a few games of bowling on a rainy day, the bowling alley itself was fine and very well kept. Unfortunately the staff was very slow and rude. I waited at the bar for 45 minutes trying to order my children some pizza, because the place to order was closed. The bar attendant saw me standing and continue to take others order before me. Even when I tried to speak up she rudely let me know that she has to take her customers first. I don't believe I'll be bringing my children back anyti
Disappointed with My Experience at Bolero Date of Visit: November 29th 2024 1. Arrival and Check-In: I visited Bolero on a Sunday, hoping to continue our special family outing to meet my parents halfway... and introduce my 2-year-old toddler to some good family fun. Upon arrival at their opening time, we checked in at the front desk, stating we had 4 adults and 1 baby. The manager assured us there would be no charge for my toddler, as she wouldn't be able to play a full game. We appreciated this gesture a
I had a great time, the food was hot and the lanes worked (for the most part) without issue. When there was an issue, this manager Joustine helped me almost immediately. Would come again.
We had so much fun here! Even the adults felt like kids again! The staff was great! Food was good!
I had an amazing experience bowling however the food serve was horrible. Server Kristen H took our order. My friend and I asked can we switch out the bread sticks for more wings . The answer was yes. We also ordered drinks. She messed up on the drinks but she corrected it. When my sampler came out she did not switch out the bread for wings. Now when I went to ask Kristen H about it she lied and said she has no clue as to what I am talking about. Now I have to question the integrity of Bowlero. Ms. Kristen H
Terrible service, we showed up to book a lane for an hour and a half. Only to be told you can only do that online and 3 hours in advance. They had just opened and had no other customers in the building. Sat there for 45 minutes to book the lane, only to be told we had to come back 3 hours later to bowl...still not another customer in the building. The manager said there was nothing he could do about it, and that was just how it was, or we can pay by the game at 10.99 a game plus shoes for 4 people. I have
The bowling is great but the service for food and drinks were lacking. We waited over an hour for one chocolate shake and water. We understand it was busy but waiting that long for water was a bit much. We received our other drinks promptly. Hopefully it's better next time.
Amazing vibes, amazing experience, and amazing people. Kendall is the goat, so kind, won't be coming again if she's not here.
Thank you for hosting our 8 year old's birthday party. The kids had a blast! The food was perfect, the service was above par, and every need/wish was met. Jessica and Jay, you made it so easy for us. We look forward to returning.
Poor service from some, but not all of the workers. Pretty good experience with the bowling but it's overpriced. The chicken tenders are great.
Fun to bring the family. However, it is way understaffed so wait times for getting on the lane getting food and drinks was very long even though it was not overly crowded. The lane scoring and pin setting machines kept screwing up. Bumpers are manual up and down but they don't give you any way to do it yourself in case you want to change what is on the lane when you get there or change for different bowlers in your group.
Enjoyed a fantastic mid-Saturday drop in with the kids to have lunch and play arcade. It was tons of fun because every Bowlero team member was committed to showing families a special time! We enjoyed yummy pizza, delicious wings (kickin bbq), and in addition to our own fun, watched nearby birthday parties coming together for a great time with kids and adults. Putting this on the short list for our own next bday party for sure!
Lexi the bartender was very rude to me last night. As someone who comes from customer service, there are ways to talk to customers & ways not to. She needs to learn how to talk to paying customers.
5 stars easy! Friendly staff, excellent food and service. It appears that it was recently renovated. 18 big screens and a full bar with an arcade as well. If there was one improvement it would be to replace the old bowling balls. I wrote this review before we left for the night. and will keep the 5 stars trusting this will be fixed in the near future. Unfortunately our experience when it was time to leave was not the best. When you arrive you put your card on file with the desk and I assumed that would
Every time we come to Bowlero, Joustine and Jessica give the absolute BEST customer service! They both have wonderful personalities and ensure you have a good happy visit while you are there! We bring our little atleast once a week because it's his absolute favorite place to play! So happy to have a family fun place to go to!
They offer an excellent birthday party package. The kids had a blast.
Price is insane and they put kids in between couples for some reason. Every other lane was a family of 5 with kids crossing into the lane, and throwing their balls into the wrong lanes, super dangerous. There were open lanes too where they could have grouped people smarter so no excuse. On top of that, I got a nice huge gash in my custom ball. Don't go here. Literally go anywhere else.
Overpriced. $78 for 3 games for my wife and me. Took under 90 minutes. There are much better values out there for your entertainment dollars.
10/10 would recommend!! Bowling is an amazing time with friends and the front staff was absolutely fantastic and accommodating!
Nice bowling alley. A little ridiculous on price. 3 adults 4 kids. $500 to bowl, eat and drink for a couple hours... Been to a lot of bowling alleys, at least double what it should be...
The staff was behind helpful. The price was great for what you got especially with the fall specials. We loved celebrating my son?s 13th birthday there today.
It was just OK...lanes to the left are sloped so it's difficult to bowl normally...you have to adjust for the slope...the balls are all chipped and damaged, so bring your own, shoes are old as the hills, and the food is terribly over priced. If you go to just get in one fun game with kids and go to the arcade, it fits that purpose.. and that's about it
We were so happy that the Summer passes have returned again this year! As such, we frequent the alley most days/weeks. The customer service at this bowling alley is top-notch, especially Justine, who is incredibly friendly and attentive. The lanes are well-maintained, and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. The food and drink options were also great, with quick service and delicious choices. We will definitely be coming back soon!
Used to be the place to be for two decades and now My mom gets jipped of $146.00 for no reason. Guy with the long black hair swipes her card too many times and we have been trying to get the money back for 2 weeks and we just get swapped from manager to manager... Be careful with your cards.. was supposed to pay $125 and paid $271 for a few games on one lane.
The lanes had glitches and kept resetting the pins inaccurately. Wings were good drinks are nice portions.
Great service by the staff, a super clean environment and awesome air conditioning. 44 lanes and a lot of fun on the lanes and in the arcade. We had a server that came to our area and took our order, then followed up regularly to refill drinks and clear away unwanted items. It was a perfect way to spend part of a hot day inside doing family time.
My family absolutely loves it here. A great place to have a good time! A few of the lanes feel like there uneven lol or it's my bowling ??
Great fun! Even though it was CRAZY busy on a Tuesday night, my friends and I were able to get a lane within 5 minutes. They didn't have one of my friend's shoe size, but given how slammed they were this is not that surprising. The atmosphere is fun, kind of club-like. They have a great selection of snacks and beverages (alcoholic and not). The prices are what you'd expect, and with free refills on non-alcoholic drinks. It's a fun place to hang out! I don't bowl often, so I won't comment on the quality of b
Fun for the whole family. We took our Allstate office out for some team building and games. Not too crowded on a Friday night. Great service from the employees.
My nephew had a birthday party out there and the staff is very nice and we enjoyed ourselves
This spot is a good very basic bowling alley, the arcade portion does leave much to be desired, including the prizes (25 points for a single now in later is pretty odd) overall it's great for a kids party, but leaves a bit to be desired for those of us who want to have a fun night out with friends but not to join a league. Overall it's clean and well maintained.
Im visiting from Fla, it was my granddaughter's Birthday Party ?? and they had so much fun , Golly I wish I could remember the man and woman who took care of us. I appligize for that. We were the first party @ noon when you opened! If that helps! They took really good care of us. The kids had a wonderful time, we all did !! Thank You ??
Shoutout joustine and Kendal they were exceptionally kind and we all had a great time here
The staff here is really helpful, nice and they have a good time with their guests. The arcades are fun, especially liked the walking Dead game, and air hockey. I had the foot long chili cheese dog and it was pretty good! I asked for an alcoholic drink they didn't have on the menu and they were able to create it for me. I also enjoyed the big screens in the bowling lanes.
Amazing experience! Me and my friend had so much fun and overall we really enjoyed it. The only problem we had was that the place was really understaffed. Also, we could tell our lane was old and broken down because it constantly stopped working. But if you and Your friend want to have a good day spending time together then this is the place!
I had a really fun experience with my friends. I love it.
Great music Wonderful food just a good comfy time
Kegler's AMF was a great surprise! We were looking for a family outing and decided to go bowling. What we didn't expect was a bowling alley that is clean, state of the art, chock full of excellent arcade games and with great food and a full bar with reasonably priced drinks. The staff is friendly and attentive - Yvonne and Courtney are great bartenders who even took the time to recommend drinks. Liz, the supervisor, and the young man at the desk made sure we had all we needed. The arcade has brand new and d
Had lots of fun with the BF! It can be expensive but with proper planning you can keep costs down. We went late on a Sunday to score some discounted bowling that wouldn't break the bank and we're very pleased with the experience
I went to this place on Sunday night with my family. The place was clean and it looks cool. However, line 31 got stuck 3 times and it also counted our points wrong. Also, please be aware that the price IS PER PERSON not per group. We paid over $100 because we thought the price the staff said was per game. Halfway through the second game our line got stuck again and when we went to close the tab they didn't give us a discount for that. It was disappointing and it does not make me want to go back.
Shout out to the front desk employees they're great! And very helpful!!
At first, everyone was very helpful and even got two lanes next to each other but then it took 15 minutes to get our lanes working. I'm unsure if it was a technical issue or the staff simply not paying attention to us. We had small children with us so the wait was difficult for them. One of the kids got the ball stuck in the middle of the lane so we pressed the assist button and waited five minutes and no one seemed to be on the way to help. We took one step onto the lane to retrieve the ball and the same s
Atmosphere and music is fun but the employees do not seem happy to be there at all. We interacted with the bartender and three employees at the register. We also had to leave our lane multiple times to have our lane reset, even to start the first game. 2 people, 2 games $45.
First of all i don't normally complain about customer service but this company sucks at it. An answering machine answers there corporate office, all questions are referred to online, you can't get anyone to answer a question, seriously! Second of all there summer pass while good is not valid after 4 pm on saturday, and no wear says that! I had to find out only after I went to use it. You guys need to make that more clear!
Was having a hard day but bowlero saved it -especially Kendall !!! Would ABSOLUTELY run it back!!
Would not recommend. The machines and lanes didn't work very well and we had to switch lanes in the middle of our game. Also they add a lot of charges on top of the named price. Would not go back.
This place is a complete rip off. You make reservations online thinking you are getting a better deal when in all reality you are paying more. This place is so expensive and not worth it. Spent 1,000 just to play for 3 hours. They are sneaky and charge extra fees. I do not recommend if you wanna have fun and not spend an arm and leg! Probably would be cheaper to pay game by game, but you still are spending hundreds of dollars to play and eat!! Total rip off!!!!
Poor service and way overpriced. An additional 'reservation fee' was added at final payment on top of the initial price was shown. Once we were there, despite paying over $500 for two lanes for two hours (12 people), we were told we need to purchase bottled water and tap water was not available (they eventually did give us water after asking several times). Our kids wanted to play in the arcade and they required a $3 fee for purchasing an arcade card in addition to the cost of the games. To top it all off,
Had a great time bowling. However rude service for no reason, when I asked about billing situation. Acting as if I was a 10 year old and didn't understand basic math. Billing was still messed up and left with no resolution. We've had issues prior with rude service and would like to see this place improve as it's the closest bowling alley around and everything else is great.
Honestly I really like this place; Great service, good wait times, and pretty good specials on given days, BUT the one thing I absolutely despise about this location is no accessable water! You're telling me I have to pay 4$ for a bottle of water when I'm already paying 70-100$+ to bowl? Absolutely unreasonable. I have been to many Bowlero establishments in different states and not one has refused to hand out a cup of water when I asked for it. Before anyone says anything, this has happened to me on more th
This should be an easy 5-star review. Unfortunately, the experience is really hurt by understaffing. The facilities are in great condition. All the lanes are in good working order, balls and shoes are well kept, and the employees are all friendly and helpful. The only problem, and it does hurt the experience, is that it's hard to find someone when you need help. I waited almost 10 minutes to check in for our reserved lane, and there was only 1 person in line in front of us. We had to wait several m
Overpriced for what you get. They allow people to bowl in street shoes which messes up the lanes. Also their pin setters are awful and you frequently have to reset the frame because it gets stuck or ask to have your ball released because it gets stuck in the back. The staff although friendly are very unknowledgable and unhelpful. They watch as people do dangerous and inconsiderate things in the lanes. The only reason I come back is because it is literally the only alley on the area.
To my surprise, my family took me bowling at the Charlottesville location for my birthday here! Hands down one of the best bowling experiences I have had. From friendly faces at check in, to Food, to the outstanding manager, I could not have asked for a more enjoyable outing for my family! Definitely recommend and will be returning very soon!!
My time there was pretty good. However, guests who have food allergies like celiac or who are gluten free have no real food options. Then are told that they can not bring in outside food. That's not accommodating of "customers " with food allergies that they can not accommodate. The young lady who assisted us did her best. And I appreciate her efforts. She is the reason I give 3 stars.
staff was very attentive to our needs
Shout out to the front desk for being amazing and terrific people!!
Fun for any age!! We were looking for a post Turkey feast activity and we're stoked Bowlero was open (shout out to the staff who keep this place rolling EVERY DAY of the year). Shanita offered us a deal for 3 rounds of bowling and some fun in the arcade. Craft Beer on tap ?? Clean facility ?? Great customer service!
Fun arcade and great new bowling lanes just installed!! Really improved my game by taking advantage of those summer fun passes. The new lanes and new oil machine really elevate this location to be competitive with any I've been to.
Very much worth our drive from Harrisonburg. Much nicer and more friendly than our local bowling alley. Cheaper too ??
Big big shoutout to TRINA. She, along with all the people that serviced Brown College on Friday, April 26th, from 9 pm - 11 pm were exceptional staff. There were around 30 people in this group total, yet the unlimited food and drinks came out fast and always tasted great. A great college memory, the staff on this night deserve an extra shoutout. Amazing service. Bowlero is a WONDERFUL place to visit. Thank you all!
It's amazing bowling alley!!!
On a Saturday afternoon, a group of six including myself went to Bowlero at 4pm. We were told there were 6 groups ahead of us in line and decided to wait. During this time we saw multiple lanes open and ended reservations in which the lanes were not being used. We talked to multiple staff members over an hour long period in which they said those were reserved for reservations that haven't showed up yet and they never did but the lanes were still not able to be in use. The workers were not worried about the
Where to start... We came in to an empty counter. It took a pretty long time for someone to finally come up. We get checked in and start bowling, suddenly our rounds start to begin with the incorrect number of pins. I go up to ask if I can get our lane fixed and again, no one is to be found. I saw 3 total employees the whole two hours I was here, and only one of them ever occasionally was at the counter. I wait again and finally someone comes to help and they tell me it will be fixed shortly. After more wai
Overpriced for the quality of bowling and food/drinks. The lane had difficulty calculating the scores correctly which we had to manually adjust multiple times. At one point the lane just stopped working and took 10-15 minutes for a worker to fix it for us. We ordered 2 milkshakes on the mobile ordering site and were told they weren't serving them at the time when it was only 4pm so we subbed them for one watermelon lemonade drink and one strawberry once they were brought the other one wasn't strawberry when
It was a nice place and we had fun but it was super expensive, drinks alone cost around 100$ and then bowling for 4 people 2 games cost 120$. :/ kinda of a bummer.
Busy but pretty cool! Had lots of fun although there were some maintenance type issues we had with the lanes. Chalk that up to bad luck it was lane 13 after all. Otherwise an excellent evening out. Five stars
Our one ball got stuck on the lane, asked an employee to get it an he said don't worry about it... Obviously it got hit and ended up jamming the system... Moved us to another lane and our screens just started not working... Staff didn't know anything and just generally didn't care
Had a really good time hanging out with the bros, right before he gets ready to tie the knot. Congratulations bro ???? ??
Great service provided by Justine Starks she assisted with our lane setup and bumpers for the children. She also helped us with the food order and made very great suggestions. She is very knowledgeable and works at a fast pace with a smile and consideration for all. This was a very great experience for my family we look forward to coming back very soon.
Used Bowlero for a private event and ordered 20 pizzas and 20 pitchers for my group. They ended up bringing out less than half then pitchers and half the pizzas ordered and refused to refund us for the missing items.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
