I had such a great time at the Bowlero in Alameda! The atmosphere was fun and energetic, and the staff was super friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in. The lanes were well-maintained, and everything felt clean and organized. I really appreciated how easy it was to get set up and start bowling?plus the food and drinks were actually really good, which was a pleasant surprise! Overall, it was a smooth, enjoyable experience, and I'll definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommend for a fun night ou
Easy, clean, hip fun for all! Hosted a large kids birthday party here. The service was exceptional from start to finish with zero exceptions. Our server Ricky made sure we had everything we needed throughout the whole party, and Alan the manager even made sure we had little touches like light up letters that spelled my son's name! Cookie cake was included and was a hit. Zero cleanup or prep needed on our part. All the kids get arcade cards as part of the package too! 10/10 would do again.
Great place to hang out, especially now has the summer pass, 2 free game per day ? wow !
We had fun food and drinks are really good! Loving the lighting and vibe, not too cold or hot temperatures. Con: The bowling balls are sticky and oily. Other than that no complains! Great physical and mental exercises. We will be back. The arcade looks neat too.
Party of 5 birthday package for my son RR: Everything was outstanding- from the check in process with Anthony accommodating us promptly & efficiently. Event coordinator Jessie for checking in with our group and very friendly to interact with. Then there's Top Hat, going above & beyond, making sure we had all that we requested for our party group. Definitely better experience than expected, highly recommend, and look forward to having another gathering at Bowlero Alameda. Anthony, Jessie & Top Hat were all c
wonderful place thats very accommodating. Food is basic, cocktails and drinks are very sweet. The balls are the most busted looking balls ive seen but we still make it happen. great place to host parties and watch the game. They have an arcade and pool tables also!
I love Alameda! This is an old treasure, however the arcade is nowhere near as big as it looks in the pictures. Also the lanes can get packed mid afternoon on a Saturday. Every one had fun!
Really wanted to like this place perhaps I'll try in a different city. Me and my husband were out for a date night and thought to try a new bowling place other than our local bowling place. First off we were greeted by a metal detector and 3 security guards so me and my husband looked at each other like where the hell are we that they need airport level security? Anyways then we get our lane and we're seated next to a party of about 8-10 teenage boys we saw how they took up both booths/lanes and requested t
We brought some grade school kids to bowl a few games, but all the lanes were taken. We were put on the waiting list. So, we played several games in the arcade. There's a good mix of new and classic arcade games in a small space. You can exchange tickets for prizes. Since the kids were hungry, we decided to go across the street to eat. Once we got settled into the restaurant and got a text that a lane was open, we decided not to go back to bowl. Nice bowling lanes with a restaurant inside.
Truly supreme bowling experience. Lots of fun, good music, good food, good vibes. Just a little rough around the edges but I come often and love it every time.
If you're looking for a good place to eat, this isn't the ideal place. But then again, it's a bowling. Nevertheless, the food is very decent. I also like their arcades and bowling alleys; it's a good place to have fun with friends.
Jesse, the manager, was incredibly kind and attentive, answering all my questions and helping me while I waited for my guests at my birthday party. A big thank you to the whole team, and especially to Jesse, for making the experience so special. I highly recommend Bowlero to anyone looking for a fun and memorable place to celebrate!
Not a fan of the pins on wires... attaching the pins to the wires has a fake feel to it. It not making the game any cheaper or better for the consumer it may be just a few seconds faster and less dead wood, but makes it difficult to pick up splits. Great service and fun environment. Good food. Sticky bowling area, almost ruined my personal shoes....
I have been here twice for my birthday parties with friends and the managers are SO KIND. Everything always goes smoothly and they are willing to work with you based on your needs. 10/10 customer service and highly recommend sending your strikes here!
Great location. Very pricey for a family, bar food chicken wings, fries , other appetizer plates. Alcohol is extremely expensive. Arcade games expensive, bowling prices expensive. Staff was friendly, helpful and food came quickly. Bowling alley was clean.
Is a good place to spend time with the family, they have different prices and they also sell food beer and pizza ??. But we were playing and ordered a pichel of beer ?? and they took like 15 mnts to take it to as we finish the game
I recently hosted my son?s birthday party at this venue, and I was taken aback by the strict rules regarding the food package. I was informed in a rather rude manner that the food would not be replenished if adults continued to eat from it. At the beginning of the planning process, I made it clear to the party planner that I was more than willing to pay for extra food and drinks if necessary, particularly if we had more guests than the limit set for the children included in the package. I've never encounte
The only reason I can give a few stars is because the service at the front desk was nice. Otherwise I'd give 0. Food is way too overpriced and not even good. Arcade games are dirty and sticky. Was cramped into a lane after waiting an hour to play. Just to be seated next to some ?league bowlers? who kept criticizing my family on how to play. Made us feel stupid for not knowing ?common bowling courtesy?, although I was trying to help my 7 y/o niece bowl. All on a Sunday when this place is filled with famili
A great way to spend the day with family, date night, or work on your game. They have a great summer deals too! Thanks for an awesome day!
Bowlero is one of the cleanest and most modern bowling alleys I've visited in the Bay! It has a ton of updated lanes, and the screens all around the room make the vibe super fun for a night out with friends. I've also visited on weeknights when they have amazing deals for all-you-can-bowl for a flat fee (~$25) which is good for someone like me who can play for hours on end :D I've never gotten the food here but it always looks pretty good when I see other people with it
Brought my group of 10 people in and managed to get 2 lanes with minimal hassle. The price was well worth it as we spent a good hour and half bowling three games. The servers were very helpful and we ate like kings for the night. The bartender was very kind to us as we ordered a good variety of alcohol.
I haven't been here in years but it has been way modernized since the last time I was here. The software on the lanes worked well, the arcade selection was decent, and the food was actually pretty good. Main negative about the food was they charged a fee for ordering on phone, and there was no way around it. Parking was easy also. Would recommend trying out if you haven't been here in a while.
Bowlero is a family focus entertainment venue. Lanes can be equipped with gutter guards if so desired. Bowling balls are limited to fourteen pounds. They offer a menu selection that has pizza, hamburgers, tator tots, and hot dogs. Sodas and more. There is a fully stock bar serving spirits of all sorts and an assortment of beer and wine. Next to the bar is a pool table. Bowlero has an outstanding arcade area. Rivals "Dave and Buster's." Bowlero staff can cater your child's party or adult gathering. Price poi
Great service. Comfortable and relaxed. Great family atmosphere with a massive arcade. Very happy place to be on a Saturday night.
I live in Alameda. I do not bowl often. In fact, it's very rare, but when I do, it's always fun, never disappointing
I'm updating my review to 5 stars from my previous review: Long story short, I booked a birthday party for daughter and biggest critiques were the food and preparation timeliness. I can say that I still like the place because it's clean and service is good. The owner or senior manager quickly responded my review and we actually spoke on phone. This show that they're taking our concern seriously and meeting customer's satisfaction. He patiently listened to what I had to say and clarify misunderstand if any.
I enjoyed my 1st time bowling ?? at Bowlero. I even had a pepperoni ??, which wasn't bad. Keep up the good work. I'll definitely be back in the future ??
Decent place that's kept in good condition. Perfect for a night out with people. Arcade has some cool games. Don't know anything about the food, but you can order Jameson by the glass so ??
Asian gentleman security guy is intense. If you are hearing impaired like me do not go in the evening. Dude reached for his weapon and I had to put my hands up and walk out. All security looked strapped. Do not recommend
I recently visited a Bowlero bowling alley, and overall, it was a great experience. The facility was clean, well-maintained, and had a lively atmosphere. Here are some key points to consider: Atmosphere: The bowling alley had a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The music playing in the background added to the fun ambiance without being too loud or distracting. The lighting was appropriate, creating a comfortable and enjoyable environment for bowlers of all ages. Lane Conditions: The bowling lanes were in
Overall great time with friends and a fun way to handle the summer heat on the east bay. The staff were nice enough for us and we were able to get setup in a reasonable amount of time.
Clean, fun place to go bowling. They have really cool drinks too for those adult outings. Will definitely come back
You feel like you are walking into time, but extremely well preserved and updated. All of the staff was very helpful and friendly. My cousin's come here all of the time and I can see why.
Classic bowling alley with modern touches and fantastic customer service. We had my daughters 12th birthday party there and they had a great time! Package included 2 hours of bowling and video game token cards.
I was very happy to find out this bowling alley had reopened and my first trip there was a great, safe time. My friend and I had a booth to ourselves, as per their policy, and it felt like a measured, sane, and reasonable return to normal, given the pandemic. I went there again 2x over the next 10 days and was let down. On both occasions, their posted policy was not practiced. They say that to protect customers, every adjacent lane is reserved. For social distancing and safety's sake. They say that balls
I had this server, i forgot his name but he goes by something like black hat? Weird guy but very cool. Would come here again he was nice when serving us and had great recommendations on alcohol. He said to try something called a Mohito and we did and it was great!!
Went on a Tuesday and had a great experience. Loads of lanes free and reasonably priced. $7 shoe hire and $8 per game per person. Service was a little slow at the front desk for seemingly no reason, but I would definitely still go back! They also have a large arcade filled with different games and a bar (opens at 5pm) and food! Parking was fine, but I can see how it might get harder at the weekend since the alley is right next to the beach.
Good prices, good bowling, good staff , just added a walk in desk for security to check for anything. This place the spot for bowling. Edit: we payed for bowling and the power went out and we waited up 30 minutes for the power to boot up the games again. We couldn't even get our money back so instead we got some tickets for free games which we already paid for on our next visit but the tickest says we need to pay for shoes when we already did pay for shoes. This place got so much worse over the times. And
We started coming every Monday for the unlimited bowl from 9-midnight and are hooked! It's so close to home, always have lanes available, fun upbeat atmosphere and music. The bartender and staff are super friendly and having Bullard and arcade breaks in between bowling is a great options ?? 10/10 would recommend taking advantage of their special nights
Aside from the fact it appears to be a gang hangout, it's a fun vibe inside. I've never been to a bowling alley with a metal detector and multiple security guards at the door. Once you're inside vibe is good arcade is well equipped and drinks are great. Can be very busy at times in a long wait for lanes!
Horrible experience, only 11 of 40 lanes being used.. got quoted 30 minute wait time and have been waiting for over an hour and a half. over priced drinks.. overpriced everything matter of fact.. if you're planning on coming here just spend the extra 30 minutes and go to Castro valley
The outside of the bowling alley doesn't do the inside justice. It's a very modern and updated bowling rink. The monitors are new technology. The arcade has a lot of games with shooting basketball hoops and a air hockey to name a few. There is a bar and two pool tables. I would definitely go back.
You gotta be out of your damn mind to charge so much for bowling almost $300 for 4-6 people to bowl for 2 hours and not including the cost of food and drinks is ridiculous! Y?all need jail time!
A great place to have a blast on the beach in Alameda / Oakland . It has a beach right outside next to a bird sanctuary so on hot days or cool nights this is the place.
Coming in at 40 lanes, this place is big. The service is top notch with good food and large selection drinks. It looks a little shady from the outside but once you're inside its a totally different world. They have arcade games, multiple billiard tables, and fairly large bar. Drinks and food are served at your lane which is a nice change from having to listen to loudspeaker informing your food/drinks are ready to be picked up. My only issue is that the computer controlling the pins will randomly wipe out
Went here on a Groupon deal. Great value and easy to redeem. The challenge is that they push all the Groupon people together and it gets crowded having to share the ball return. Also purchased the discounted arcade pass, skip that. It's a cash grab as there were not enough games to play and it only lasted so long. Would come back again to bowl if I'm in the area but I won't go out of my way since we have to share with other people.
Stopped by to bowl a couple games, have some drinks and food, and play arcade games. Was a blast and Sylvia in particular took great care of us! Thanks for an awesome evening!
Been to this places a couple of times, bowling is fine, billiard isn't quite the best, they had us waiting to get a billiard table when there was actually one available. Tables are quite dirty.. and the arcade games are really expensive to play.
We celebrated my daughter's birthday there. It was fantastic. Our host, Silvia, was great. She was attentive and professional and took wonderful care of our party. The bowling was fun. The arcade was fun too. We had drinks and food which was really good. It was perfect for an adult night out celebrating. The facility was clean and everything was in working order. I would recommend this for a loud and fun night out.
Let me tell you, this place is a godsend! Took a friend to celebrate her birthday on one of the hottest days of 2022. Great place to escape the heat and lots of fun. Ok it is pricey to bowl so sadly I can't afford to do this regularly BUT I recommend it for a treat. The manager kindly offered some charge cards to use at the arcade as well. Drop by often to play the racing games. The food is pretty good too.
If there are worse bartenders than the ones that try to strong-arm you into tipping them, please let me know. The bartender literally told us every total, "PLUS WHATEVER TIP YOU WANT TO LEAVE!" Dude. Tips aren't a brand new thing. You don't have to remind us, and you definitely at least cut in half what we were going to tip up by being so obnoxious. I was a bartender for 3 years and I'm pretty sure I'd rather commit seppuku than remind people to tip. We checked out the bowling prices. Way too expensive. Ju
GREAT experience i played with friends and the ambience is a very nice touch.
Bang for your buck here! Service is fantastic and managers are very helpful. Especially the one with the top hat!
We did a party pack for a birthday party. A wonderful employee ?Top Hat? made our night! He was very attentive and really committed to make sure we had a great night. It was really appreciated.
Cool place to hang out with friends. Staff was courteous and professional. Food could have more choices.
Came in with my partner who had to make up games for a bowling league. The entire staff was amazing especially Allan and the bartender. Thank you for being so inviting and kind! We will be back many times.
This place is SO FUN. The pricing is straight forward, and because they have full service, you feel really taken care of. We had both Al and Jessie helping us out and they were both incredible. They made sure we had a great time. Jessie checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed in terms of food and drinks and Al helped us add time to our lane when we decided we wanted to stay longer. The arcade was fun to explore after we were done bowling, and the other patrons were super fun. It felt like we
Super fun! Was crazy busy. Slow service, but completely understandable.
Amazing staff , thank you Ellis for your help , definitely will be coming back !
The bowling alley was mediocre at best! I brought my own balls and after one frame they lost them in the back. It took 1 hour to retrieve them and somehow our balls were pretty much destroyed. It got chipped and COVERED in gunk! It looked like our balls went through a gum wall. Our custom balls couldn't even be used after this point. The balls now have to be professional cleaned but they will still have the chips in them. I understand stuff can happen but we didn't get any back from the bowling alley. We pl
We did a party pack for a birthday party. A wonderful employee ?Top Hat? made our night! He was very attentive and really committed to make sure we had a great night. It was really appreciated.
Bartender is young so set your expectations low. Lanes were clean and well kept. The screen to order food from froze up on us but we got it to work again. Food was decent.
This bowling alley is a great family spot to have tons of fun, they have an arcade for the kids, a bar for the adults with great drinks options and pool tables available to rent, as well as great food and snack to order, before I forget you can also reserve lanes or book for a party.
Absolute bummer of an experience! Came around 11 with a group people. Got the buy two get one, three game deal, A DEAL ADVERTISED BY STAFF. Everything was going well having fun until around 12:30. We knew they closed at one, so we asked make sure will we be able to finish our last game!!! They were very nonchalant said "yes of course". But when the time came, not a minute later they turned on all the lights and turned off all of our monitors therefore we were never able to finish our game, and got yelled
Great place to bowl and chill. Bartender was great and so was staff.
Cool spot. Arcade always has new toys
I will never ever go to this bowling alley ever again ?? one of the worst bowling experiences I ever had. June 2023 invited family and friends for my birthday. They make you put 1 credit card on hold. Which is ridiculous when you got 10 plus people. After it was all done, people paid their bowling games individually. The next day, I had 2 unauthorized charges on my card. Came back the next day. The manager was rude and said, "Oh well, take it up with your bank."
Wow, what a joke. If you actually care about your bowling, do not go to this alley. The floors are sticky and the lanes have absolutely no oil. The wood is dryer than a stoner?s mouth. FYI, they ?don't issue refunds.? The manager made that comment without even asking me why I wanted a refund. Horrible customer service. He even questioned an employee on the spot right in front of me. That's just bad business all around. The black lights were on in the middle of the day and the pins sound like they're plast
Bowlero has become my go to place but the only reason why I come back is all due to Sam, the bartender. He's the best and makes everyone feel at home! Love that guy!
5 star customer service. Shout out Allen for going above and beyond.
Bartender Sam was great! I was actually really surprised by the food being so good. The bar/pool area is a pretty cool spot to catch the game.
Easily seen from the beach road. Plenty of lanes. Very colorful monitors everywhere. Usually not crowded. Plenty of parking. Beach right across the street. Pool tables, bar, food. Nice family atmosphere
I come here all the time with my family and friends, this place has a great atmosphere. Great place to come bowl and grab a drink, they also have pool tables which is a plus. Great service overall, very helpful and friendly staff. They are also located in a very nice location with the Alameda Beach and South Shore Plaza right across the street. Highly recommend.
Beautiful place. The Flatbread was tasty my Armaretto Sour was so good I wished it was a larger glass. I wish we had a Bowlero in our town. My son and I had decided to stop by after watching the A?s vs Dodgers game and stopped by Bowlero and had such a great time. Everything was new bowling shoes are brand new, Arcade area new, Bar and Billiards area. Great place for the family or friends.
We organized a birthday party for our kid at Bowlero, and we were extremely satisfied with their services. Everything was set on time and the staff were extremely attentive and hardworking. The cookie cake they served was specially delicious. They took care of all the clean up afterwards. All we had to do was just show up! Would highly recommend for a birthday party for a group.
Not bad. Balls are old and most are in pretty bad shape. Overall, a nice atmosphere.
Had an amazing time at this location and Elvis provided fantastic customer service! Will definitely be back soon, thanks to Elvis we enjoyed our night!
Older bowling alley, but does the job. Evening rates are great, such as Sunday after 6pm, it's $3 a game. Easy parking in their lots and good is alright. Definitely a no frills bowling alley, great if you don't want to spend $15+ per person at other, newer places.
I will start off with the positives! We came in on a Friday where it was really busy. We were lucky enough to be introduced with an employee named Vi! He had a very sweet smile and he talked to my daughter with enthusiasm and we really appreciated that. Once we got our lanes ready he gave us our shoes quickly and we went straight to bowling. We asked for the side rails to be raised and Vi got it immediately up for us. You can tell he was dealing with many things at once and I even saw him cleaning tables ne
Awesome place! Friendly staff!! 100% would recommend this place!!
Bowling and arcades are fun! Kids enjoy it! The staff is very welcoming, and the food is good!
So friendly and helpful. Boatload of fun!
It's a disgrace to call this a bowling alley. Predatory behavior in automatically adding tip to your bar tab without informing you and the receipt still has a space for more tip that most people still add to. They don't say anything but full well know what they're doing. On top of that they also have variable pricing on beers. If it's a league night a 12oz coors is $4.50 and other nights it's $6.50. Oh and "imports" like Heineken or Pacific are $8.50. This is not a concert or a sporting event the prices ar
Great bowling alley. Super pricey. Nice fighting and great music most of the time. Great arcade area. Bar has nice set up and 3 pool tables. Drinks are good and strong. Tasty food options. Love the ability to order from your lane. Avoid on Friday and Saturday nights It's like a club scene unless that's what you're looking for. Great place for birthdays if you can do it during a deal. Not sure if there were ramps for wheelchairs or not. Restrooms are gender specific.
So clean! New shoes, great music, great atmosphere! Definitely going back!!!
Bowlero is a great place for families! My daughter loves the arcade. There is a good mix of skill games like skee-ball/ basketball shooting, regular video games, and claw machine/prize games. We had a wonderful experience today where the manager (Elvis) helped us figure out what foods my daughter with a food allergy could eat from their restaurant. They were pretty busy, but he made the time to help check ingredients.
Straight up fraud. Highway robbery to reserve a lane. Al, the manager charged us twice for the drinks we got. Plus double for the drinks we never received. Super short staffed. Waited 45 minutes to get checked in for a reservation. Waited another 45 to talk to our server. 30 to get our drinks, came up 2 beers short, and gave us 2 fraudulent bills. Al is a piece of garbage. Check his numbers. Bowling is fun though. Unless they cut your game short for being late when it was their check in line that
Super friendly staff, fun place to go with the kids or a group of friends
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
