Amazing spot to go to bowl! It's a family owned business since 1977. Artie is the owner and is a great guy! If you're high-end don't come here. This is for the people who still carry cash and enjoy a calm spot with family and friends. It's almost nostalgic coming here. Yes, you need cash but the prices are extremely fair. You do need to bowl before playing pool because it's only $3.50 to play pool. The ambiance gives 70s-80s, there are a lot of mirror advertisements for good pictures, and the prices beat a
Bowlerland is the ultimate spot for parties and fun! We recently celebrated my Nephew's birthday there, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The staff was friendly and attentive, the lanes were in great shape, and the whole atmosphere was full of energy and excitement. The owner, goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome-he treated us like family. Whether you're planning a party or just looking for a fun night out, Bowlerland is the place to be!
My son 1st time in Bowlerland on his High School league and his ball was destroyed. There's a total of 14 gouge?s in his ball. His teammates also suffered damage to their personal bowling balls. I do not suggest serious bowlers with personal gear bowling here. I did not bother to speak to the front desk or a manager based on negative replies from management to customers expressing poor experiences. Usually when you see management bashing customers it is a red flag. The ball Was pristine and used in his othe
Went for the first time during a weekday, at an early time, so it wasn't crowded. It was clean and reasonably priced. Would go back again. Most importantly, to share is that they only take cash, which h can be inconvenient at times. A lot of people no longer carry that. Lol
Avoids this bowling alley. They are overpriced and dishonest. I called before I waked in to ask the price which the male told me $13 per game per person. When I walk in a minute later the front desk tells me $15. I question it and they say that's the price after 12pm. I called at 5pm so why didn't the male say that. The lanes were 95% empty and I asked to be at the end lane. The person tells me the lanes are automatically selected. I ask to speak to a manager and magically they switch my lane but still not
I've been on a hunt for the perfect place to bowl with my kids. My kids want to be able to throw a ball down a lane with bumpers. This fits the bill in every way for me. It's clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, well maintained, not gimmicky, and reasonably priced. The negatives are nitpicky and really don't matter. It's cash only without an ATM, so prepare for that. It's in a weird part of town, but doesn't feel completely out of place, and generally doesn't matter either.
Me and my family have always come to this bowling alley for many years since we've been in Co-Op City. I haven't been here since before the pandemic so it was nice to come back in 2025 to see what has changed. Came here on a Saturday afternoon, wasn't too busy, there was a small kids party and a few friends bowling, so it wasn't too bad. Prices have gone up over the years but that's to be expected nowadays. $10 a game on weekdays, $15 a game on weekends. Parking can be a challenge especially with tractor tr
great place to for a family time, i brought my wife and son here this weekend and we had a blast. Food is a bit expensive and cash only is the downside
I had a great time there with my family
i go here for all my school bowling games, its really nice compared to the area its in. prices are great compared to other places closer to me. great vibe, on saturday nights it gets pretty busy. food prices are a little high, but theres snacks in the vending machines.
I enjoyed coming here, at $12 per person. Only cash at this location which was a huge downside for our family. We came on a Sunday and it wasn't busy, enjoyed the music that was playing. The snack bar was closed though :((
This place is trash? will never go again? they should close it down? the machine kept breaking down?when we asked for a refund.. he simply lied and said we broked the machine? never again will visit and I urge everyone not to go. No wonder why we was the only one the place is empty.
Fine bowling place. If you're there to bowl, you'll have a good time. Personally wish that they'd take card along with cash, and that things felt more sanitized. But nothing felt egregiously or concerningly dirty.
Overall it's a good experience the only issue is the management is a bit rude. And another issue is there is no card payment only cash!. It's the 21st century how can there be no credit card machines. It's about 12 bucks a head per game.
Walked in for a family day asked for quarters for the pool table and The lady at the front desk says that I have to bowl before I can play pool so I explain to her I'm gonna play pool while I wait for the rest of the family and she says that she cannot give me quarters until we bowl first. OK fine whatever I guess they have people that come in here just trying to play pool. Then I make my way to the bar. I figure I have a drink while I wait for the family and the bar is locked so I go to the counter and he
Cash only for everything got me. i was able to do i game, then leave. Wasn't that bad because I went early.
Cool place, lovely area, just very expensive! bathrooms are clean. the overall layout and the set up is nice; it's a modern bowling alley. I like the kiosk to order food and drinks from, very convenient. Servers come right to you and bring you your food. It has an arcade downstairs too.
Had a nice time took my family here for here a bday outting. We went on Saturday evening which was supposed to be dinosaur kids glow in the dark. Needless to say their was no glow in the dark action. We got there a bit after 8pm and left almost 930pm and still there was no glow in the dark going on. When we did ask they kept saying "oh it should happen soon". Soon never happened. So besides that major detail and the reason we came the bday girl still enjoyed herself and I guess that is what mattered most.
Bowerland has been a place we have bowled in for over 30 years. Children bowled on leagues at some point. We had fun bowling with the family. Everyone enjoyed the fellowship. We encountered some staff very robotic, unprofessional, and unkind. The place is in dire need of updating to match the times we are in.
Definitely needs some updating and staff can be very short with their guests. A lot of the arcade games don't work. They do have vending machines and food is so pricey here. Don't think I'll be coming back.
It was a great time there. Bathroom was clean and the food tables were clean too. Bring you own sacks. The vending machine are kind of pricey three dollars for a bottle of water.
Great family fun. Very clean. Staff is very courteous n accommodating. Prices are very reasonable. Great vibe the music is jaming. I took my grandson for his 3rd bday he had a blast.
Great inexpensive place to bowl. Staff very friendly. I gave 4 stars because the food and drinks are expensive and they don't take credit or debit cards!!! It's 2023!!!
Very nicely run bowling alley not too many left in the Bronx. Bowling prices are good. Beer prices are good. However, eat before you go because the food prices are ridiculous. $25 for a burger!!! Hell no.
They are very nice and attentive. They gave us the wrong table and still liked the service.
Hosted a child birthday party. Kids had a great time! Bowlerland was gracious to us!
Terrible service. Will be excited to take cash but wont make sure game running properly and youre getting what you paid for. Only accepts cash [there's no atm so you gotta drive somewhere else to get cash]. Everything over-priced [just fries is $15. Nachos which is store chips and cheese is 10 for a small. Even vending machines are over-priced]. Claims shoes to be free but gotta pay per game an outstanding amount which usually changes bc you have shoes. There's no vibe. Just kinda bland. This place is a fu
Honestly one of my favorite bowling alleys till this day. Had lots of fun the staff was super friendly. There's a bar and even a pool table and the bowling games as well as rental shoes are SUPER affordable. Highly recommended
I would rate this place a 0/10 I went there one night with my friends. We originally weren't suppose to go here but we ended up having to go here. First thing is they only take cash which I should?ve seen as a red flag. When we got there we paid to bowl and we were hungry so we ordered pizza from them it took more than 30 minutes for them to carry our pizza and when it came out we went to the vending machine which barely had anything in it to get something to drink and returned back to the food. My friend w
Met the owner walking around being friendly to his patrons. No complaints at all. Friendly staff and bartender. About to make this a regular spot.
I liked it, melow, good music, great people. The only thing is that they don't accept cards it is only cash
I have been here many times love the place, owner and workers always greet me like its my first time there. And as I've brought many kids they never frown on the silly things they've done (ball get stuck for going down too slow, laughing loud) they respect the kids to have fun.
Good old-fashioned bowling alley. Had a great time. Food is very pricey so you may want to eat before you go. Beer selection is ok not great.
A good time was had. Bowling was super fun. There was a mix-up w the staff, and my crews lanes, etc, but overall, it was handled well. I only wish they accepted card payments at this establishment
Clean, and up to date scoring system and good music, however 15 dollars a game is ridiculous
I came here with my family for an afternoon of bowling. I was extremely discouraged that is this a CASH ONLY ESTABLISHMENT but does not make it known until it's time to pay. They should have signage on their doors viewable from the outside making this known, especially because they do not have an ATM on site. It's 2021 and there really is no excuse for not accepting cards - my first thought was they're cleaning money through this business - maybe Marty Byrd runs it. The bowling alley is in a very desert
This place is a joke! The owner at Gunhill's location is miserable and rude and the drinks are excessively OVERPRICED! 2 DRINKS FOR $35 and they were barley a drink! I attend this location because it's close to my folks and wow it's just disrespectful to be so overly priced and some workers rude and grumpy!
Perfect place for a moment of fun! Prices are reasonable and the shoes are free. Staff is friendly and helpful. My suggestion could be expanding the choices for the unlimited bowling and food.
Bad costumer service the worker acted like he didn't speak English because he didn't want to sell me a slice even though sign says slices for $5 the frying area had old fries laying around
Is a family friendly place with affordable prices and fun for all ages; we tried the pizza and everyone ate it but didn't understand why, specially on a Sunday between 2-5pm, there was only one staff member; the same guy giving you prices and the shoes was the same guy taking the food orders.
The man in there discriminated against me and my disability. Because he couldn't physically see my disability he said I didn't have one. I don't know if my color upset him but he looked me in my face and told me my Service Dog wasn't allowed because service dogs are for disabilities and I don't have one. He proceeded to ask what disabilities I have and he's not allowed to do that and the police officer told me he wasn't supposed to do that. I also have all of this on video so I will be contacting corporate
The place is awesome. Never been before. Very nice lanes. Great atmosphere. Employees are very attentive and helpful, polite. Can't wait to go back.
Poor management, poor damaged lanes and food prices are ridiculous.
$12 per player for one game was more then other places, but it was clean, not too many people on a Sunday afternoon and we had a great time. I did not try food or drinks.
Good place to go to if you want to have a fun bowling night. Or if you want to play pool or just want a drink or to. The location isn't the best, really lowkey if you not familiar with the area but once inside. You definitely feel the vibe.
A very cool bowling hall with a great atmosphere. Only a couple of things that stood out 1 its cash only, with no atm on site. And it is in the middle of nowhere. You have to walk a good 10 mins incase you came here with no cash, doesn't help that it isn't said anywhere that its the case. I only found out once I got to the main desk. Also the food is way overpriced for what it is. The alcholcol is pretty ok-ly priced though.
Music is up to date. Clean and attendant?s friendly.
Went there on a Tuesday night. The place was empty. The guy with the black and brown dreads was beyond rude. Refused service when asked to speak up. Other guy no better. Guess he was scared of the other guy. Place empty they lost out on over $300 as we had 10 people and was gonna order food. Don't go here I hate to say people should lose their job but good help is hard to find. Management needs to train better. No to Bowerland in the Bronx
I cannot believe a place ran like this is successful in this day and age. I am compelled to share my utterly appalling experience where my friends and I were subjected to what can only be described as blatant racism from the owner. It pains me to recount the details of our visit, but I feel it's crucial to expose the shocking behavior we endured. From the moment we walked through the door, the atmosphere was hostile. The owner, whose name I regrettably did not catch, made it abundantly clear that we were no
I wouldn't recommend this place at all! It was really dirty, and the customer service was terrible. The guy with dreads was rude to my friends and me, and he even cursed at us when we complained about the poor quality of the pizza. The box was filthy, and there was a fingerprint on our pizza, so we didn't eat it. I regret not taking a picture. Definitely never going back.
The bowling alley is nice but they charge $25 for a 8 slice pizza and have no other food options. You're not allowed to bring outside food that is ridiculous. The vending machines have nothing, They definitely need an upgrade!!
If I could give this place a lower rating, I would. We visited this place from out of town with family. My mom, who is much older, wasn't going to play. The gentleman at the counter shared that the owner decided, on a whim, to charge everyone who entered just this night, whether they played or not. What??!! They, too, didn't understand that logic and shook their heads in disapproval. My husband asked for the owner and explained that my mom couldn't play and that we would need to take our business elsewhere
It's crazy how I am reading reviews from 2023-2024 and they still reflect my experience from 2017. Nonetheless, it has been this way for a while. I'm surprised they are still in business and the whole place needs a revamp, it is very dated. Looks like it could be on "Stranger Things". Red Flag: please note that the person or managing this Google business site, responding to the reviews has to be narcissistic or lacks any amount of empathy. I have read thru quite a few reviews and I have yet to see a resp
A welcoming and calm atmosphere. Clean and maintained. Staff needs a bit more work on having a friendlier, attentive and helpful demeanor. Food is good, vending machines are stocked. A very good place for a weekend hang with family and friends.
I went with my friends and the manger was being unreasonable rude, even mumbled a racist comment under his breath. Using the excuse of having a black employee, doesn't change that one is inherently racist. Not a single one of my friends and I ever going again!!!
This is a perfectly good bowling alley. The french fries are amazing.
I went there with 3 of my friends. It was pretty empty but we loved it, the style and everything, it wasn't modern and was more old fashioned which made us love it more. The staff was nice but unfortunately the food bar and the regular bar was closed but we ate before so it was fine. It's not that expensive at 12$ a person and they even have a pool table too. Definitely coming back here. Loved it.
would have hoped for more oil on the lane but that's life
I came here with my family for a fun night & I was so disappointed by the lack of good bowling balls. I couldn't even find a medium sized in any weight. Place was clean but extremely hot & it was inconvenient that they are a cash only business. The price was good, but another thing was that I wanted 2 games and was told I can only pay for 1 game at a time even though the place was pretty empty and they closed at 1 yet I got there around 9pm. Overall, good for the price but didn't feel as welcome.
very old bowling alley that is still in the process of being updated. still CASH ONLY!!! but the improvements the owner made to the bowling lanes and machines are money well spent, not if they would except cards, get new balls, replace the pool cue's, update the food menu, get more events going at the bar(Which is also nice just empty), and finally renovate the bathrooms then it would be a dope spot since there is tons of parking outside.
This is the only place around locally. Our group goes there annually to gathered and have fun. This past Sunday because of the season many could not come, and I'm glad that they didn't. The food is limited, I'm not sure if it was the son but he must be having personal issues because he has a grumpy attitude and does not know much about simple courtesy and a smile to welcomed customers. The place was empty just for my small group the bathroom condition were horrendous both men and women bathrooms. The odor o
That place service isn't that great.classy part about that was I'm not in the picture I was there with the person so now the fact that you have to say that let me State the fact that the owner's son was rude and I've been here before many of times and this is the first time he was ever rude so maybe he had a bad night hahahahahahahaha ????????
Bowlerland is like a Motown song, "An Oldie but a Goodie!" It's a fun family night!
Utimately we have a video of how you were treating the adults we support and that will be shared publicly. If your review is 2 stars or below the owner takes it super personal and responds to every ounce of negativity. I have personally seen Gus, the owner, treat adults with disabilities in a terrible way. He berated our clients and told us we were not welcome at either of the two bowling alleys he owns. More importantly he insisted everyone in our group pay to bowl regardless of if they were actually bowli
This location seems a little bit expensive for what they offer. Their vending machines are outrageous five dollars for a snickers bar but otherwise just the usual fee of fried foods from their food counter. One major complaint was that every lane we went to bowl on eventually failed, and we had to move to another lane. But the overall environment was pretty clean.
Had fun, a bit hot and they had no food other than pizza. It was an ok visit.
Broke machines everywhere the bowling machine even malfunction to skip my friends turn, pretty sure the guy at the front lied about some of the machines being broken if not then all the machines were broken except for the basketball, in the food is ridiculous the overpriced there was a bag of chips for $5, also what kinda of management doesn't take responsibility and just make excuses on line, me and my friend went over a week now and we didn't make a big deal we told the guy at the front what happened and
I just called to see how much was the prices for bowling and the customer service is so off the guy who answer the phones sound like he didn't even want to be there when he answer he was like bowling but he sound like he was tired and didn't like his job the greeting was not a 0..... Once I got there the customer service was good but them answering the telephone was not it but overall me and my family had fun so I'll give it a 3 phone call just have to be better when it comes to greeting
The family enjoyed our overall experience.
The lanes are just arrogantly dry. You are whack. The computers are whack too. I saw a few people that made being there feel better. But then remembered they are suckers too. 2 stars.
Went about 4 times so far and each time the staff was great and the experience as a whole was fun. The bartender epsecially really knew her stuff when it came to fixing our drinks and she was a great host. Food is good too. Just keep in mind they're cash only, and you'll have a blast.
Overall the place was OK but needs work to reach full potential. Bathroom scent was unbearable and they only take cash. The worst part was the freezing alley machines. To be clear the machines were not slow, they kept COMPLETELY FREZING. The owner seems to be a creative person when responding to these reviews instead of admitting fault and working towards fixing the issues. He accused my friend of complaining about the speed of the machines when we clearly had an issue with the freezing and were moved back
Great place to enjoy with the family and friends. Only one thing the kitchen needs to be faster
This business owner is rude and completely dismissive. Let me preface first and foremost that I seldom leave a bad review such as this, and please feel free to look up any other reviews that I have given to other businesses where I have acknowledged their above and beyond service. And as I'm sure he will respond to this post, so please do your due diligence and read the other reviews about this owner and this business and how they do business. From there you can deduce who is telling the truth in this situ
It was fun! It's in the cut in the Bronx but family-friendly place. It's cash only for bowling, food, and drinks. I like the old school feel. It's been around for a very long time. Overall, I will go back.
The website as well as sign on the door says open at 12. Myself and a bunch of other people have been standing in the c old for over 30 minutes as no one is here. It's now about to be 1pm. Very unprofessional! I hope the experience is better on the inside. Owner has responded telling me me that's not true which is a complete lie! Also went back today to be told we could not enter due to vaccine even though proof was provided for everyone except one child who had a doctor letter And I called a head and wa
UPDATE: 2/9/23 LET ME SAY first, they get ONE STAR because you must select at least ONE. I was wondering how long it'd be for Bowlerland to reply with the STANDARD LIE of "Fake Review". Anyone who takes the time to read ANY of my reviews can see they are true, honest and from the heart. I've frequently bowled at Bowlerland REGULARLY in my past (well over 20+ years ago). In fact, it was a weekend staple for me and my friends for years. It was THAT PAST memory that prompted me to call yesterday (2/8) to see
The place was a bit in the middle of nowhere, it seems very race dominated (no diversity) when we walked in to bowl a few games the girl at the counter ignored us for the first 5 minutes until we knocked on the glass, as we looked around it was very dirty and unwelcoming. I don't recommend this place to anyone especially if you are a "minority"
Good environment, the owner/ staff were very friendly. They only accept cash(which was inconvenient, but not a big deal) and I believe the kitchen was closed. Other than that, the experience (for all ages) was great ????
My first time there we had a ball it was great clean friendly... and it's a big place
Haven't bowled in a long time and it really reminded me of the place I used to go to with my grandfather before it closed down. Great music, classic bowling alley and unlimited bowling for ONLY $18 from 9am-1pm is a great deal if you ask me. Older gentleman who set us up was very familial and I would definitely come again and bring more people.
My friends and I went here a couple months back and it was TERRIBLE . Worker?s attitudes disgusting , place empty as hell , the interior design needs to remodeled , snack and regular bar was closed. We were so annoyed by the experience we didn't even care to finish the game. Edit : Since I can't reply to the LYING motherf***** who replied back to my comment I had to come edit my comment. EVERYTHING that they stated is completely false , 1. My review was about our visit to this place LAST YEAR not recently
This place is surely not what it use to be and it seems ito be going down Quick due to the owner's son who now runs the place . Nasty experience from customer service to the condition of the place. The son is is out of order even disrespects his father in front of coustmers. ...... ?? When you walk in the doors you are smacked with a strong smell of Cigars and other orders .place not well kept. Only offer pizza for 30 dollars a pie no other food . But if your looking for a cheap nightt out ......12 dollar
My review is in response to Delia! I went to her sons party yesterday and while I've been here a few times it was the first time I attended a birthday party and I wouldn't consider throwing one here myself ever! The owner said we left the place a mess which was not true at all! We were very clean!! Spilt drinks on carpets and walls??? Totally uncalled for and not true!!!! Also short staffed, we had a few minor issues with our lane and we had to search the alley for someone to help us. Everything also did no
This is a great local bowling alley in the Bronx. The owner makes you feel very welcomed. The lanes were clean and it's large so easy to social distance while playing. Everyone was checked for vaccination status. They've been here for >40 years. They only take cash though but prices are very reasonable.
This place is horrible? I guess if you want the old school vibe OKay staff none existent? no food ? hot beers , lanes don't work right .. no customer service presence at all
I will never host a party or recommend this place to anyone. I celebrated my son birthday today. Horrible Service Horrible Organization. They're understaffed, kitchen was closed at 4 something in the afternoon. It took them forever to bring drinks and food to my guest. Meanwhile I left deposit. So they knew I was coming! They were not ready for us! I do give them credit for clean lines and the scoreboards are pretty modern. It allows for a good bowling experience for the kids and adults. Besides that the s
Super safe and friendly service. Temperature was checked at the door and all sections are definitely separate. There's plastic dividers separating groups of people. Lots of hand sanitizer stands as well. The bar and food areas are closed. Only the vending machine is the only source of snacks.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
