Had such a great time at Bowl Dogs with my second son, Jonathan! The atmosphere was upbeat and family-friendly, and everything was super clean and well-organized. We shared lots of laughs, and to top it off?Jonathan actually beat me! It was such a fun bonding moment and a memory we'll both hold onto. Definitely a great spot for a little friendly competition and quality time with the kids.

Audrey was kind enough to show us all around. She knew all the prices on all the rental fees and bowling fees. The place was as neat as a pin with lots of stuff to do for the kids and the adults. Great party room.

Updated June 20, 2025: They are hosting trivia every other Thursday. Half price burgers and draft beer. We went last night and it was great. Big Grove drafts and the Bowldog burger were delicious. Trivia host Nero was awesome. It was set up in their VIP room which has great sound and a living wall of plants and waterfalls. Great setting for trivia. We'll definitely be going again. Amazing Facility! The combo of hatchet throwing, bowling, darts and pool really compound the amazing food and stellar experience of being blast back to the past with good ol fashioned fun. Its really fun also having it connect openly with the pizza ranch arcade for a truly family fun experience.

Absolutely Terrible ? Do NOT Book Your Party Here. We had my son?s birthday party at Bowldogs in North Liberty, and it was a complete disaster. The event planner, Annia, didn't even show up. Nothing was set up when we got there ? no one had a clue we were even scheduled to be there. We were promised certain things and paid for them, and none of it was ready or provided. I took a break from all day volleyball tournament, and this place was right across in the same parking lot. I tried the goat cheese dates, and to my delight they were very tasty and paired well with a Field Day Centennial Park Pils. I will be back

With Bowldogs recent opening it's been a fun place to go to. With Bowling, hatchet throwing, pool and the arcade, I've already found myself coming here twice for opening week. Suffice to say, my buddies and I have found a new place to go!

Don't bring your own equipment! Their ball return completely chewed up my balls... the owner came out and hassled me about how I was obviously trying to "pull one over" on him for a half hour before finally his mechanic brought one of his own balls out, rolled it once, and it came back with damage. The owner clearly doesn't know the first thing about bowling, or for that matter, dealing with a problem as the manager on duty. Why are their BRAND NEW machines ripping balls to shreds? We came in for Father?s Day celebration of 3 dads. The party was 11 adults and 5 children from Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and locally. They were so accommodating in that they helped us sit together and allow for separate tickets. The service started poorly HOWEVER, I assume a manager, stepped in and had the overall experience end on a positive note. We had a variety of dishes and everyone appeared to have enjoyed it. We recently booked the "Party on the Lanes" package for our daughter?s birthday, and unfortunately, it turned out to be an incredibly disappointing and stressful experience. What was supposed to be a joyful celebration ended up being the most chaotic birthday party we've ever had. From the start, nothing that was promised in the package was delivered as advertised: Party Host: There was no party host. Despite being clearly listed in the package, we were left to handle everything on our own. Birthday Song

The waitstaff was friendly. They brought us extra sauces. There was a long wait for food but we enjoyed the gigantic screens behind bar. Bowling is great. We didn't try pool, hatchets or darts this time?.will be back soon!

Bowling was fun and easy to navigate when setting up a lane. The arcade has lot's of options to choose from. The menu was pretty extensive from what I had anticipated and everything was tasty. Drink prices also very reasonable. Can't wait to bring the whole family back.

The staff was respectful and over all, they are very good with the kids most of the the time but the upstairs should have a gate and signs that say no children allowed it's not the kids fault they want to play with pool sticks and the darts lol ?? not a big deal but just a suggestion so the workers don't have to watch kids leaning over railings and smacking each other with pool sticks. The man who spoke to me about it was polite and knowledgeable, and apologized profusely for being a negative Nancy but it?

The place is great however we did not like the fact that once your hour for bowling is done the machine just abruptly shuts off. Other places just charge you for whatever amount of time you go over the hour. Or better yet, charge by the game. Makes much more sense. We didn't like having to watch the clock while we were playing.

This place was a nightmare for my first bowling experience in about a decade. I was intrigued by the innovative ?hyper bowling? and layout, but there is a perverse incentive to multiply points by hitting the bumpers and then to hit the pins. The system actually will stop the lane and make it inoperable and say it's a foul. This perverse incentive is confusing to the average consumer and will lead to the lanes being serviced way more than they should be. This probably explains why the hour of bowl time turne

DO NOT RECOMMEND!! You will get yelled at for merely existing next to a group with children. The manager was very rude about the whole situation. Our server on the other hand was great and very sweet. Colonial Lanes in Iowa City is definitely the place to be and is much cheaper.

We went opening day! The bowling and food was absolutely amazing, our waitress (I can't remember her name but she said she had a daughter that works there too) was SO SWEET and hilarious. I wish I could give this place five stars, but when we went to the hatchet throwing, the two people supervising (one with green hair, the other with brown hair; said she was from Mississippi) were so rude! My girlfriend and I made reservations Saturday morning and the website said the earliest available which was 8pm which is no problem. We arrive on time and proceed to get to our lane where we are not able to bowl because of some type of technical issue. We wait about 10 minutes with no one coming over to help so I proceed to go ask the front desk what the issue is and they do not have an answer and tell me they're working on it. Another 10 minutes go by and still nothing so I have to go up to the front desk

This place was so much fun! My two young boys loved their first time bowling and the arcade. I was really surprised at how good the food was. And it was extremely affordable. Highly recommend

I had a bad experience at bowldogs and won't be back. I take bowling somewhat seriously. I reserved a lane online and paid the 31 dollars for an hour of bowling. When I get there I grab a Diet Coke from the bar and close my tab and tip immediately. To pre authorize my card I still 4 days later have a 50 dollar pending charge on my account from grabbing the Diet Coke at the bar. That is insane work considering I never had an open tab. Taking 50 dollars from my bank account for almost a week is unacceptable.

No photos on website. No menu on website. Charging by the hour for bowling? So if you are in the 8th frame, you are done after 60 minutes? This place is trying to be too many things. Just do bowling extremely well. Then add something. It appears you've taken on way too much. And constant employee turnover already. That tells me you don't vet employees & training is lacking. How long did you have to get your act together for this? When you whiff at the most basic things, that's a problem.

Imagine having a date night with your long distance fianc? and it being an epic fail. We had a frustrating experience at Bowl Dogs in North Liberty, Iowa. We were moved multiple times from bowling lanes within a 20-minute timespan because the machines needed maintenance. Food was ok, the burgers were good, the fries were soggy, the crab rangoon dip was just not for me. It would be okay to go to the bar and have a few drinks and watch a game. Bowling I would only come back if had nothing else to do and it's crappy outside for the price not worth it.

My friends and I had a great time! Made our reservations online and everything went smoothly. Service was excellent and attended to us right away. Will definitely be back.

Bowling was decent. I thought the food menu was bit odd could use work seemed like things alot people would not eat even though was diffrent from most places . Pool table are nice .

The regular bowling is like duck bowling and the pins are on strings ?it's is more for kids to have fun at not really for adults
