Customer Reviews

Kids bowl free is great for the summer. I got the family pass so my price isn't too bad once we go more than one time. The place is fairly clean. Our lane kept having technical issues, but they fixed them quickly (even though it looked like there was only two people working). The lady at the desk was very sweet and helpful. Over all we had fun and will definitely be back.

The staff at the fron was awesome cant beat the VIP pizza bowl! Kids had a blast as did we. And a robot! Brought out the food! Pizza was amazing. Will be back!

This establishment has definitely gone downhill over the last few years. The computer scoring system constantly kept giving members of my group spares and strikes that were not actually earned. This made keeping score 100% pointless. Also, the second pizza we ordered took nearly an hour to arrive at our table. The bottom line is to find a better place. Go somewhere else. The economy is tanking, and the last thing any of us should have to do is waste our money on poor service. I mean, come on. This is a bowl

My granddaughter had her twins (age five)birthday party there. We had so much fun. The employees were so polite. The owner or manager mingled through the children and adults. All of the children got to try their hand at bowling, and they all had so much fun. Including myself...thank you

Call before you go! We took my brother bowling on his birthday, Thursday around 5. Before we left I checked the hours and looked at the website. It said they were open until 11. Once we got there we were told they had leagues starting soon so we couldn't bowl at all. Luckily another employee said there was time for us to have a quick game and after a small discussion amongst themselves, they agreed to let us play. Afterwards I checked their website, facebook, google etc and could find nothing indicating

I hate this place...it smells in there and it's very run down like it hasn't been updated in years. Treasure Lanes is better for a great atmosphere.

we had 2 lanes and both malfunctioned and we couldn't bowl for a good 15-20 minutes. i understand one but both ??? also we were supposed to get pizza but the pizza machine is broke or something so we getting wings instead. the lady who i think is manager did a good job communicating, being helpful and accommodating, but how did we even get to this point ? why does nothing work ? mane ts lame

Perfect place to celebrate my birthday with my sons! Everyone is super friendly and helpful! Had the best time! Music is fantastic!

Signed up for kids bowl free promo. Everytime we have shown up no lanes available. I'm not sure why they join the kids bowling program if they are already full of leagues. Waste of fuel driving all the way there to be told no lanes until 930pm. UPDATE!! Tried another time phone number doesn't ring bowling alley direct but they have lane status online. They did a great job keeping lanes cleaned and ready. Like a totally different place in 4 days.

The one employee that we dealt with was very nice. I realize like many other places they are probably short-staffed however there was a lot of food on the floor in our lane area and then everyone was tracking it up on the lanes. Had issues with the ball return several times. Also, it would be nice when you reserve online if you could indicate that you would like a regular lane and not one with all the lights and music.

Overall, I really enjoy going here. I bowl on a league on Friday nights. The staff is very helpful. There are some slow nights with food service, but the good outweighs those times. After bowling there is karaoke, the DJ is great and has whatever you want to sing. Always a good time. Katie is our server when she's working, she is AWESOME! Always there when we need something, had a smile all the time. She's even remembers our names.

All-round the best experience for my family to get together and have friendly competition and strengthening family ties. The staff is truly topnotch. The staff member who helped me put our drink and food orders in, he is the reason I will continue to return....extremely professional, friendly, courteous, and great at his job! He deserves a raise.

Not a bad place we just went and played a few games of pool

Very respectable place to hang out and have fun And bowl

We all had a great time . The staff was so friendly.

Many improvements have taken place here since the recent hurricanes over the last two years however, the pin setters weren't destroyed in the hurricane, which is really too bad given that they consistently need attention when bowling. The new alleys are great, but the pin setters really need to be replaced. It took three hours to bowl three games in our league the other night due to the constant need to have the pins setters reset or repaired.

We participated in the Kids Bowl Free for the summer last year and this year they are helpful. The children really enjoy their time. The lines are clean and work well the music is not too loud, which is great. The atmosphere is wholesome.

always a fun time at bowland! katie is the best bartender and the rest of the staff is super sweet and fun as well!

Bowling was a little pricy 40 dollars for 2 shoe rentals and 1 hour of bowling, but overall a good experience. The bar had a great price on pitchers for happy hour and a really nice and attentive bartender. I give it 4 out of 5 stars if they charge less for bowling or made the place a little nicer it would get 5 stars.

Very clean good vibes and music food is also good service is always good ??

I am a pba bowler and frequent this alley for practice and leagues, Paula at front desk and her crew run a very clean and very smooth run alley, always look forward to bowling here.

Fun, and full! Food served to you by a robot ?? ??

This place was fantastic! The bowling alley looks like it was completely redone - everything is fresh and new feeling. Plus the staff was AMAZING!

The bowling alley itself is fine. Nemos takes forever but it is usually due to short staff. The food is good so if you order when u get there your food should arrive shortly after you start playing! I prefer these lanes over the other in town! Good deals on foods and drinks and reasonably priced for games and shoes!

Polite and helpful staff. Great Philly Cheese Steaks. I had a wonderful time bowling, eating and enjoying my family time!

The boomer guy at the counter had his butt on his shoulder and the other guy there was only a little more advanced than your average garden squash plant. wouldn't answer questions, and wouldn't talk to anyone. By far the best employee was the bella bot that delivers food. 10/10 would pet bella bot again. I'm giving them a 4 stars just for bella bot. Truly the employee of the month.

A great bowling alley for fun for all. Clean bowling alley and friendly employees. Great fun

Spend 15 minutes here and see why they're so empty. Staff is garbage

Had an awesome birthday party for my daughter Skylar ?? ?? 10 years old.

Fun place to spend Friday family night

They're wonderful people the work at the bowling alley they all helped me to become a better bowler little advice here and there Nick at the pro shop he really really help me a lot I consider him a really good friend all of them at the bowling alley that work there because they're really good people people that you would love to meet.

It was just ok. I think they're pricey considering how poorly maintained the balls and shoes are. Too many balls had chips (big and small), shoes didn't slide (had to change out twice). Otherwise it was a fun time making memories.

Went to Bowland for .99 wings. They were amazing. The wings were huge. Bartender was friendly. Great experience. Besides Thursday's are football night.

Place was good. No problem getting in and bowling a few games. There was a function going on when we arrived but there was no issue and we were able to bowl

The food was good. The bowling was fun.

Great family experience for a fair price.

We had a great afternoon here! The staff was so sweet, even when my kids got a little needy ?? Food came out quick and was tasty. Definitely coming back!

Amazing Atmosphere of bowling and open bowling is fun too. This place is all about having fun. I moved to this bowling alley a couple months ago since I moved and It's so cool. I bowl league and everyone here I see when I go in the building you feel happy If you want to bowl in the summer you should bowl here because it's all about fun.

Kids had a great time. Staff works hard sanitizing and keeping everyone safe!

We enjoy Bowland. The staff isn't always super friendly or inviting but it's usually a great time regardless. We love taking advantage of the Kids Bowl Free during summer.

Attended a few children?s birthday parties at Bowland. Kids always have a blast, music is great and not obnoxiously loud, environment is always fun! But the younger staff who are supposed to help with the party are sometimes not very enthusiastic, you have to go ask them to help. Otherwise, great place for a birthday or night out for fun!!

We went to enjoy bowling and football with our family for a birthday. However after we began playing we asked if they could please turn our screens on to the football game to which they responded they could after a group 2 lanes down from us left because they found the screens ?distracting?. Having HALF of the screens off in the facility for ONE small group and not informing us of this ahead of time or offering to move us to another location or refund is ridiculous. Instead we we received dirty looks becaus

We signed up for the kids bowl free for the summer. We are so happy we did!! Bowling alley has been updated, everything was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly... especially Rosie! Really enjoyed the music they played, older-clean lyrics. MUCH appreciated!! We can't wait to go back and enjoy a fun, cool, affordable place for family time.

Donna at front desk rude and disrespectful, came in with 2 hours in pass from when our vip lane broke on January 10th, she had one lane open and 2 that needed to be cleaned. Refused to let us play on the vip side with 3 lanes open and her co worker even said yes we do have 2 other lanes just need to make sure they clean. Donna said you can take lane 24 or she pointed to the door and said I can get out. Mean while this all happened with a family at the counter in front of us who she was giving lane 5 too. S

Enjoy Bowland. Staff is great.

By far the best experience we've had with our kids bowling. The staff tonight went above and beyond. They made sure my kids had the best possible experience and I am so grateful!

Bad experience. Everything was good for the first 30 minutes and after about 30 minutes of playing we ran into problems. The lane wasn't working. Every 5-10 minutes it would stop working for about 5 minutes and start working again. We told the workers and they kept telling us to wait that they were fixing it and It continued to happen. Eventually I asked for then to move us to another lane and they did. But on this lane we had the same problems. After a hour going back and forth we had about 33 minutes left

Everyone was so accommodating and friendly. Good food. Fun time!

Love the family time here

They saved the day for my great grandsons birthday! We were scheduled at another bowling establishment but power went out, that is when Bowland in Port Charlotte pulled it off They went over and above! They were very great with getting all kids on 2 lanes, very efficient in getting shoes for them! They helped get pizza and food out for they party! They were helpful, and went over and above to help provide a great memory for us all! Hats off to Bowland and would recommend them to anyone in the future!

Even putting aside the few ramps and ibaccessible entrances, I have found this bowling alley unpleasant and the staff discriminatory. We bring a group of adults with intellectual disabilities to bowl each week and the staff makes us feel unwelcome in the way they speak to us. They have forbade our participants from paying individually because they go "too slow," and today they began rushing us the second we walked through the door, telling us we were late even though we were early. They rudely scolded us an

This was a clean and friendly place . The food was ok its a bowling alley cant ask for much .But had a good time family loved it will go again.

Love the pizza and the bartenders are the best. Especially Christen

High speed lanes... But great place, service, and fair pricing. Definitely would recommend

Waited over 50 minutes for a grilled chicken sandwich and fries just for them to tell me they fried it and forgot my fries. The bowling overall was fun so I'll give them a star for that.

Had an absolute blast here today on a field trip with the ESE students from DeSoto County High School! The food was great and the atmosphere was welcoming! I have been coming to this bowling alley nearly my entire life and have loved it every single time! I 100000% recommend this bowling alley to anybody!

Went in Sunday night, Amber was our bartender and the lack of customer service was astounding. I've been several times and the bartenders have always been friendly, but the friendly ones don't seem to be there anymore..? She wasn't friendly whatsoever and acted like it was an inconvenience when we ordered drinks. It's a service industry job and being nice to get people to come back seems like it should be at the top of the list. She acted like she didn't want to be there. Bring back the good and friendly ba

Bad experience! Manager apparently has a ?deal? with a group of elders to have every single screen on their half of room turned off so they don't get ?distracted? while they bowl a pathetic game. Don't recommend going if you want to bowl while enjoying a football game or a game of bowling with your family. This group clearly doesn't care for a family environment. Nasty looks the whole time. Thankful I can choose to give my money to a different company from now on who cares about everyone?s enjoyment. Sad!

Great lanes much quicker pick up I've ever seen. Drinks and food were great and budget friendly. Music was perfect. This place is perfect for date night, but don't forget to hit the arcade on your way out

Enjoyed the bowling. Good family outing.

Pricing is ridiculous. I paid almost $60 for two shoe rentals and an hour and a half of playtime. The pins were not dropping consistently (Some pins were missing) and the computers to track score did not work (I hit 6 pins it showed I hit 9). Food was very overpriced as well and not good. $20 for nachos and a drink.

Bowland ROCKS!!! My family has been coming here for years---bday parties, family hangouts, date nights, church events. I'm a teacher and today we brought 3 classes on a field trip here. It was OUTSTANDING! They were so accommodating of our special needs! They had every detail taken care of for us. The kids literally had the time of their lives! Thank you Mrs. Rosie, Mrs. Mary, and that awesome chef! Those pizzas were DEElicious! You made us feel so loved. We're so happy you're back up and running. Keep

CALL AHEAD: We tried this place with the kids on a Monday afternoon at 4:15p. They had a dozen lanes open but refused us because their leagues started at 6p. We even tried offering to pay/limit our time to one hour to ensure our departure prior to the reservations. They said no. It was a real bummer to explain this to the young ones given that half the place was wide open. While we understand that the leagues should have priority given the repeat business, it really seems like they could have easily accommo

I'm a bit disappointed at this years days and times of the Kids Bowl Free. It can't be used on weekends, and most weekdays it stops before parents are even done working! We used it quite a bit last year, but haven't been able to yet this season! All in all, we like the place, but this perk is hard to take advantage of with the hours it's available.

We decided to go bowling, we picked bowl and because they always seem empty. We were trying to give business to a place that seemed as if they were struggling. I see now why they are struggling. We went up to the counter the kid there looked at us walked to the office, walked back then back to the office without even acknowledging us. The older guy comes out and tells us that they close at 9, this was 8. We said we just wanted to bowl for an hour, to which we explained we just want to bowl for an hour, so t

Came into Bowland with my son and some friends Saturday. The bar service was amazing! Mary Beth was super funny and very knowledgeable. I cannot wait to come back! Wasn't expecting this tier of service at a small facility like this, but will be back with more friends!

Took my daughter and friends for her birthday. We all had fun. The price was reasonable. Not enough bowling balls that were lighter weight though and one of the employees was kind of an old crank and not very happy or friendly. We will go back though because who doesn't love bowling!?! ??

Worst place to spend time in the arcade games. I would like to give you 0 stars . Try to redeem your tickets and no one is working the counter, I go to the main counter and they say they will be right with me. And 25 minutes and 3 more trips to the counter, and still no luck. I left with the cardboard roll of tickets from the crane machine. Do not spend your time or money there

My boyfriend and I decided to go on a spontaneous date night with our 8 month old daughter here and it was absolutely the best experience we could have ever asked for! Rosie was very welcoming and personable! Because of her and the beautifully clean facility we will always be bowling here :) -Keke

The place looks nice and clean. The a/c was working good! The pizza was good as usual but they changed their cheese fries and they were not good like they used to be. We are a big group and we all love the cheese fries. Very disappointed.

Fun place, but the staff is a little less than enthused and the prices are average. The food is so-so. It's generally clean though, and the lanes work and they have the normal assortment of balls and shoes to rent. The arcade is fun, albeit somewhat pricey.

My friends and I've attempted to bowl at this place multiple times, we had purchased a Groupon and thought it would be a cool activity to do with the kids on spring break. We attempted to play there three times within March and April and each time we were told that they didn't have lanes available even though we could see lanes open. We asked about possibly reserving a lane for another time however we were always told that that wasn't a possibility. We're basically given the runaround multiple times to the

We love Bowland!!! The staff is helpful and friendly and there is always a fun atmosphere in the air! We used to only go to Treasure Lanes, but since they are not offering the Kids Bowl Free program this summer, we ventured on over to Bowland, and are so glad we did! We love it there!!

I'm very disappointed with the choices of the owner or manager of this establishment tonight. My husband and son go to both bowling alleys in Port Charlotte very often. It's their thing every Wednesday evening. There is a game where you move a claw in which to try to pick up an a cardboard band that has an amount of tickets numbered on it. My husband won one for our son that numbered 100 tickets. When they went to exchange it for a prize, the owner or manager claimed the machine that they needed to scan it

Fun. $30 an hour, I guess that's ok? Haven't bowled in a long time. Music videos playing in background, was pretty cool. Food was not bad. Not great, but not bad. Sodas are pretty cheap for a big cup. Not circle k cheap, but cheap for that kind of place. All and all it was a good time. Probably going to do it again soon.

We love it. We here with our family often. We are part of the weekend leagues. And we're part of their summer program which is fantastic for a family. Kids are free and family members up to four, it's very inexpensive and a great deal. If you sign up. The staff is hard working and attentive. The food and drink specials are worthy..

Not very organized. Called to see if any open lands. They said 45 minute wait. Went in to put my name on the list and stood there for 15 minutes with no one acknowledging me. I could see lots of open lanes. Like I said. Very disorganized

Take our youth group from The Salvation Army there twice a year. They're always awesome and friendly. Excellent food served quickly. My kids have a blast every time! Highly recommend!!

The staff was very rude! Since Ian closed treasure lanes they were the only bowling place opened. Wait until treasure lanes opens. No wonder why bowland was always dead. Will never ever come here again! We paid for an hour, the lane was not operation most of the time. We were never credited more time. We paid for an hour, we're only able to bowl for 1/2 and hour. Rip off!!!!!!!!

We have been playing in a pool league here for a couple of years and Misty is the best. She's always accommodating and makes it fun to be there. Food has been improving. Thanks Misty!! Good service here still. But no AC for almost a week. That seems pretty cheap. Now we have to play pool on bad tables in sweatbox. Sounds like fun to me.

Love the new renovations! Love bringing my family here thanks for staying around! Don't ever change, we need places like this to stay here forever

Bowland is under new management? Not impressed with the new owners yet, I signed up for the kids bowl free and than purchased an extra program so the entire family could bowl all summer for one price. In July they put out flyers saying they were changing the times the kids bowl free customers could bowl, much less availability. Once over the summer I came in to use the kids bowl free program and received an attitude from an employee. I understand the new owner may not like the program but it was in effect b

Staff is friendly and accommodating. We enjoy Friday night pool ?? shooting. Good music and food.

Pretty nice location and is usually less busy than treasure lanes. The pizza is okay, and the lanes could really really use with an updating or at least proper fixes. The last time we played we had to restart our lane multiple times because pins would be missing from the reset it did after a roll. At one point it completely stopped working because a pin got stuck and just kept spinning. Eventually they hit a button on their side that gave it a good reset push and set it up again to keep playing. We ended up

We had a great time. Was not thrilled with food and drink prices, too high. I haven't bowled in at least ten yrs. My four kids have never been. No hostess on floor to help navigate electronic game board and not great help all the way around. No signs visible for restrooms. No real way of knowing what food was available or where to get it. Bar? Counter with prizes around it? Hard to tell.

Awesome atmosphere, great employees and service!! Must visit when in Port Charlotte for fun time bowling on brand new lanes!! Amazing pro shop with everything you need!! Great food with great prices!!

Nice clean house . The staff was a bit snootie. Soda a bit pricey and no refills. Unless you know the the manager. Lol

Second time here within 3 weeks. Staff was rude both times, was told over the phone that they were super busy and had only a couple open lanes. Went here anyway and there is one small family of 6 and that was it. Proceed to say we want to bowl, we were told no, they close at 9pm. We didn't care about paying for only 45 minutes, we're advised that we should not bowl anyway. Time to do a staff clean out would be my suggestion.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.
