Bowl America Southwest

I brought a party of 8 to bowl and snack and, while I could understand the facility not wanting people to bring whole meals into the facility, sending me back outside in 100* heat because I brought in my Starbucks is really petty and irritating. After today, we will not return to this bowling alley. Food was acceptable. We bought a lot for the kids but I didn't take many photos since I was irritated from the get-go.

This is a wonderful place to go, very clean and very friendly people. I'd rather go here than uptown bowling because it's small and more personal than huge bowling alleys. You would have so much fun here.

Loved this place! Lots of lanes! Got an 83oz tower of beer and a sampler plate. Good prices and nice environment.

My friends and I went last Friday,we had a great time!!! The staff is very friendly and courteous and the lady behind the counter where you get your shoes from was ver y nice and kind to us , she's a keeper, y'all hold on to her.

Very clean atmosphere. The general manager James, our hostess Sophia and all of the staff that we encountered were very friendly and welcoming. The food was fresh and drinks were good. Great family fun!!!! It was our first time here and definitely will not be our last. Our family will be back in the future!!!

Highly misleading pricing. They claimed a certain price per game, so we assumed it's a game all three of us play from start to finish. Apparently, it's a *game per person*. So three of us playing 2 games is actually SIX games according to this bowling alley. Final fee ended up being way higher than other places we've ever been to, and the place felt very old/beaten up, there were no couches at the lanes. You had to bring in chairs from a dining area.

The pro shop did a great job plugging and drilling a couple of balls. The alley has some great rates for the some including nightly unlimited bowling, a buy two get one game free deal, and a two games a day summer pass.

There's food, hair wads, dust and debris all over the bowling area. Nothing wrong with sweeping multiple times a day. The bowling area and approaches need some tlc from a mop. I've literally had a chicken tender in the gutter and Skittles everywhere. Every time I bowl here I feel like I have to play "the floor is lava" so I don't ruin my shoes. I'll change my review if cleaning habits are changed.

Bowling lanes were in good condition and clean. Rental shoes were like new and clean. Bathroom was o.k. except the handicap stall had no working lock. The concession stand was a mess! They had 3 elderly workers bumping into each other back there. We ordered 2 chicken tender plates with fries (kids meal), 1 cheeseburger with fries, 1 cheese quesadilla with fries, a kids cheese pizza with fries, 2 bottles of water and 3 kids drinks. Whew. I'll get through the cons first. We booked the ball drop NYE package. The lady on the phone told us unlimited food and drinks, it ended up just being drinks and then a few different things from the menu that were one serving. 10 Stars! Old School Vibe! This is the BEST bowling house in Richmond. I bowl here 3 to 4 times a week. My family has been bowling here for over 10 years. We are in my multiple bowling leagues and are constantly participate in the bowling tournaments and events. I buy all my equipment at the Pro Bowling Shop locate inside the bowling alley. They are excellent as well, for drilling bowling balls as well as bowling ball recommendations and Etc. Stop bye and enjoy yourself! James Washington the manager is awes

Old school lane vibe with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I'm from out of town and this was the perfect place to get a few games in. 4:30 on a Friday and hardly anyone inside.

Relatively clean and nice area the only thing I didn't like was that the floor was brown. Also the wood could have been more woody. The balls needed to also be more bally.

I used to go there when I was a kid. Not much has changed besides the floors. Lol, It has a big bowling alley up the street called Uptown Alley. I was shocked how it was so busy!!!

Great spot that has the classic bowling alley feel. Lanes are well taken care of and staff is considerate of spacing bowlers out to not be distracting which is much appreciated for any bowlers out there

Want to give a HUGE shout out to the staff at Bowl America Southwest. They went out of their way to make my time there amazing. James Washington is top notch!!! Will definitely be back many more times.

The food and bowling was good. But they lost my service with the staff. Very very rude and passive aggressive

I've been hosting my special needs league at the bowling alley for many years, and I can't express enough how amazing James and his staff are. They are incredibly kind and always take the time to understand and meet the needs of my athletes. I truly appreciate everything they do! :)

I really liked this place, first time I went was for V- day. Had a great time, decided to stopped by again with bigger groups of 6. Explain at the entrance I would like to do the $20 and the amt for the shoes. The young lady at the cashier told me I had to leave my card because I was waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. I've been to this location a few times and it is always very clean. But what I enjoy most is the staffing and accommodations. The manager James is amazing. He is very engaged in making sure that everyone is satisfied with their visit. I will continue to return for their hospitality- Thanks James!

It's a bowling alley to starting to show its age. The interior needs to be updated. The equipment was so so. The staff are very friendly and the food and drinks were good.

Went to bowl America on new years eve with my family! The service was top notch, staff were very friendly. Food was prepared timely and delivered to our lanes as they said it would! James,Denise,and Sophia were the staff members that serviced our party of 10 all night. Definitely recommend this bowling alley for family events and parties. Look forward to going back again!

Awful experience all around. Checkout and shoe rental is fine, but then we get to the lane. On the second round, our ball return broke. I wanted to order a drink while I waited and asked for a price on a cocktail because it wasn't shown on the menu. The bartender slammed the menu in front of me instead of just telling me a price. The menu didn't include a price, which I checked already. Finally, by round four, someone came to fix our lane. The worker slammed his headgear to the ground, forcefully disassembl

Wonderful time with friends and family. Called at 4 to rsvp for 10 people. They set us up with a bday package! It was my daughter's bday. No complaints. The manager was awesome as well!

Dirty nasty bathrooms. They do not have servers come to your table. The bowling alleys appearance is good not great. Facilities are everything. Four bathroom stalls only one was.working. businesses have to do better if you want returned patronage!!

Overpriced and outdated, I took my daughter and her friends for bowling. 6 girls 1 game... $85. The place is old and out of date, balls were poor quality although the shoes were new looking. For that amount of money, we should have gone to uptown alley.

It's relatively clean and the staff is nice. However they charged us for shoe rental for each game. Two games on a Monday for 3 people and two pairs of socks was about $56.

It's my go to place! It has definitely come along way with it progress in the updates their doing with food and drinks plus they've updated the interior! I heard they're more to come! Hopefully a pool table!

Edit: Based on the owner response I wanted to clarify that my experience was not subpar. The service we received was impressive due to there only being one employee working the counter and the concessions. I was hoping he'd be recognized for working so hard. Came in today with my large family and was told I would have to play on one lane. 2/3 of the lanes were not being used. Manager did not care. Bowling somewhere else

Overall staff was friendly, especially John at the desk was very helpful

A worker was really rude and told us to take our outside drinks and take them outside and threaten to turn off our Lane

I have always loved bowl America they always have the best low price for bowling which is greatly appreciated to have something to always be able to take your kids to do the folks there are super friendly and welcoming

This place was great, just like the old days. We walked in and were told the prices and when we'd need to be done for the leagues. The food was delicious and good prices. The staff was nice and the location was clean! We'll be back again. Thank you

First time here with some friends and we had a good time. They serve draft beer in a chilled mug which I love. Food was fresh and tasty (it's a bowling alley, not a Michelin star restaurant for goodness sake). Decent prices too. Will definitely return

Clean, friendly staff, good selection of ball sizes. All good ? except a little pricey for a family of 5. 2 games and shoes = $70. Then, there are snacks and game machines. Otherwise, we would go every week! Still a good change of pace on a very hot day!

My overall experience here was just ok. The discounted rate after 6pm was great and a goood value of 2 games of bowling, however, the empoyees were not so good. We had to ask the front desk multiple time for someone to put the bumpers up and even when they were finally attended to, he was rude and clearly didnt want to do his job whatsoever.

It's nice but the bathrooms could use a little updating. I like it here pretty much.

the staff was mostly very rude and the food was very cold when i got it. the man i called on the phone around 4 was super nice but when i got here at 6:30 Wednesday night everyone here was rude. we simply asked why our game ended and instead of just telling us, the woman said rudely ?yeah, you're done?. just was very rude and wasn't a good experience because of staff.

This was our first time visiting, and James made our experience great! 4 stars due to the outdated setup. Otherwise, we had a great time.

Staff is great! Very helpful, very interesting point, you can't use your Free Games, on Saturdays after a certain time, and being a league member you still get charged regular price, ($8.99) seems not fair, if you have a regular 9-5 it's almost impossible to use your Free Games due to league nights, just hope they come up with a better way to enjoy bowling for the regular clientele

Super clean. EXTREMELY friendly "manager". We have gone here several times and every single time the day/opening "manager" is always so friendly and happy to see us. This has become one of our favorite places to visit.

Customer service was great, very clean bathrooms and environment. The food tasted amazing and the manager James was amazing! He helped in every area and went out of his way to make sure we had an amazing experience.

Great price and time we went was not busy at all. However, Lee who worked there could not possibly have been ruder. He spoke rudely to me and my husband and when we had issues with the lane, he practically yelled at us. Even my son who is under 10 said "if that man doesn't like people he should not work around them" I would probably return because we had a great family day there. However, I would make sure there was someone different working first.

My family and I really enjoyed ourselves here. Not just because of the welcoming and upbeat atmosphere but the STAFF IS AMAZING! They took care of my family and made sure everyone left smiling! So happy we chose to bowl here!

As a company owner you should do your best for the community you live in! As much as I would love to say I love this place I can not! Bowlero has took over this place and made it a money pit instead of community place to have fun.

This place is awesome. The staff is super friendly, prices are well priced, computers and mechanical systems worked great, and overall an amazing time. If you go on Saturdays I hear they do cosmic bowling. They also have fun events. My four year was begging to have his birthday party here after finished bowling. Everything was amazing, exceeded my expectations!

Had a great time, and the place may appear a little rough around the edges, but it's a great place to have fun. And the prices are very reasonable.

Customer service was awful. I had to keep pressing the reset button in order to keep playing. The men bathroom was horrible. Toilets were clog. Some of the Urinals were overflowing. And the list of other things that I do not want to mention I will never come back here again.

Went for a 4 year olds birthday party. Staff was friendly and my daughter enjoyed herself. It's just your average bowling alley. Nothing fancy, which isn't a bad thing. Everyone had fun

Great facility! Took my kids there and bowled a couple games. With shoe rentals for all of us and about $5 worth of tokens, we got a couple hours of quality family time in. Total of 6 games bowled, three shoe rentals $20 + $5 in tokens. Under $30, I'll be going again!!! And as always dad dominated the air hockey table!!! ??????

Don't waste any money at this establishment. James, the manager, encourages harassment among his employees and could NOT be a more sorry excuse for a leader. Legal issues are on the way for this failing business. As if an employee?s suicide wasn't enough to question the hostile work environment, ?management? continues to sweep any concerns or reports under the rug.

Great place to go woth large groups. Always bring the kids from the nonprofit I work for here. They are very accommodating to people with and without disabilities. The customer service we received was top notch. Will return again and again.

Very nice people, good pricing, what a bowling alley should be. Didn't have all of the pomp and circumstance of Uptown Alley -- and that appeals to me. I don't need a Taj Mahal to go bowling -- I want good staff and reasonable prices and a clean atmosphere and that's exactly what they provide.

Since bowlero has taken over alot of stupid corporate rules are now in place. Gone are the days of personality. Employees aren't happy. Corp just cares about money

More expensive than I imagined. Cost about $12 per person for one game, and the game lasts about 20 minutes. One soda was $4! Best time to go here is in the evening when they an have unlimited game deal.

I've been bowling here since I was a kid. This bowling alley has been a staple in the area and the prices have always been great. From unlimited bowling to celebrating my birthday, my family and I have spent a lot of time here throughout the years. If you're looking for a fun time with the family and friends, you should bowl here!

Although we enjoyed ourselves the customer service was nasty by several employees and I would refer anyone of going there anymore. My aunt slipped and fell on one of the lanes and the employee said a slick comment out of his mouth which put the cherry on the cake. So I will never go back to this bowling alley ever again for any reason
