Me and my friends go daily to this place (summer passes) and everyone makes it seem like family, that and the great atmosphere, makes for a great place to just have a blast and make some fun memories. I have also lived in falls church my whole life and have seen places come and go and I am glad bowling is still apart of falls church history. I went on my first date there and It blows my mind it's still a fun place to just have fun at.
We had a fantastic time. We got the kid summer passes and Ish was terrific at helping us redeem them and get us situated. Super customer service at that desk, and for food at the lane. Overall, a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend!
I rarely have an experience so bad I write a one star review. We thought this place was better after Bowlero bought it but our experience on Father?s Day 2025, was bad on all levels. Severely understaffed. We waited about an hour to get food. There was no server who ever took an order, we had to wait in line as there was only one person taking orders and one cook. One would think on Father?s Day, they'd be ready for a crowd. The actual bowling mechanism failed twice, and again, due to the understaffing, we
I recently had a bowling outing with 5 friends. We have these outings at least once per month at this location. Our last visit was not as good as it usually is. It was hot inside the building but that's not the issue. We asked for a pitcher of water and was denied because you can only have a pitcher of water or whatever you want to drink if you order pizza. Well my group had ordered a platter of food and 5 alcoholic beverages which I'm quite sure was more than a pizza. This was disheartening that we
From my experience, the actual hardware of the bowling lanes are faulty. Multiple were shut down and not operating correctly. Management seem to be all over the place. However, our server Kaia was the only silver lining. she gave us consistent and fantastic service throughout our appointment, and frankly was the only kind and competent person that I met my entire two hours and 30 minutes bowling at this place. Would not recommend, especially if you have a large party as it seems this bowling alley can't a
I had a great time here yesterday afternoon! Lanes were spotless and always readily available. The food is excellent, as well as some of the beverage options I had discovered! I was seated yesterday by a very sweet server yesterday, Cameron I believe her name was; she was very fast and efficient and had a warm smile on her face the whole time she serviced me. I will most definitely be coming back again! I love this place!
My boyfriend and I have been coming here on our anniversary every year for the past 8 years and love everything about it. Timothy, the operations manager, was the sweetest most accommodating person. We had a genuine conversation with him where he shared advice and general bowling knowledge. I hear they will be taken over by Bowlero so I hope at the very least it keeps its retro charm that I love so much.
Had a super blast bowling here a few weekends ago! Was easy to reserve alley online. And I swear it was the best draft beer (Modelo) I have had in a long time. Best as in fresh and crisp. Like they had good lines and kegs. My friend agreed! The place was clean and all was great. We had a super good time. So much I bought the summer pass!
Awesome experience today..brought 8 kids and they had a blast. Server Colin was great and continuously checked on us. Appreciate the experience!
We wandered into bowl on a rainy summer afternoon and had a great time. Everyone was very welcoming and great at accommodating our kids. We will come again when in town ????
Machines were almost always broken, They stated that they would fix them but never did. Our Server Kaia was fantastic however, she brought us food and fixed our machine when management refused. Management was useless and over all the place is pretty bad, used to be great but now it's in shambles.
A/C broken on a 90 degree day so it got more and more hot and muggy inside as time went on, they want you to pay for a jug of ice water for the group even though we already paid for food, shoe rentals, and the lane, there's water stains or mold on the ceilings, and there's nothing but commercials on the screens above the pins. How is this place in business?
Easily the worst bowling lanes in the DMV area. Poor lane conditions. Unhelpful staff. They only care for you to buy food and drinks. If you can just go to Bowl America in Shirley. Close and WAY better facility. Better arcade for kids. Better lanes. And a staff that at the very least cares to help or listen to the actual bowlers. I do not recommend this location of bowl America. Save your time and money.
I actually love this place. We've been here a few times to celebrate birthdays. The service is always amazing. The facility is always clean. Food and Drinks are really good for a bowling alley!
Well, I don't think this location is very good. Prices are to high. They always leave the lights dimmed or even off during open bowling. The equipment is not good. Always breaking down. The Mgr & mainly the District mgr don't care hardly at all. They need to be fired. There is never enough help. They work the good people to death. From what I hear, most of these problems got really worse after the current District mgr came on bored. I'm only hear to help a friend and former coworker. Otherwise, I wouldn't g
I came to a group event here and ended up with a comped soda drink, and when I ordered a couple of chili cheese dogs they asked me if I wanted fries and I said no, but they gave me the fries anyway. The woman at the cash register was super friendly (white lady who wore a mask, I wish now that I had more to identify her with to give her the credit). If this is the norm for how they're running their business, they're doing it right. Super glad to return to this bowling alley and will be happy to come back.
We had our child's birthday party here over the weekend and it was fantastic. They emailed ahead of time to coordinate headcount and menu (and we added food/beverage and everything was staged for us making it so easy). They had a manager and server dedicated to our party, and they checked in with us multiple times throughout the night and timed everything perfectly. Even held our cake in the fridge until it was time to cut. It was so much easier than I expected. Thank you Arien and everyone there!!!
Could not recommend the summer pass enough - after two rainy days at the bowling alley, it's already paid for itself. Definitely a great investment for some summer fun!
This place is a nightmare if you like bowling, awful lanes, horrible service (they won't even give you a cup of water if you order beer). Avoid at all costs, it's in a death spiral due to shitty management by the dumbest people on the planet.
I have been a league bowler for 50 years and will not be returning next year. Mainly it has to do with 2 members of the management team. Last Wednesday the assistant manager didn't like the way he was being talked to. His solution was to call the police and have the league member removed. At which point the team dropped out of the league. There are many issues in this center, most involving the frequency of lane break downs. I bowl in 3 leagues and every week there is at least 1 lane unusable. The center is
Kids love this place. Super nice staff all. Ish at front desk was super patient and helpful.
Overall the night was well spent. In our group some people got chicken wings, burgers and other food items. They all seemed pleased. The bartender had to read a card to figure out how to mix our drinks which took forever. We went there on a Monday night and a lot of leagues were out playing so there was a bit of a wait time for a lane to open up. While waiting for a lane we played some of the arcade games. One of the workers, Tyrone, was really nice; pleasant attitude and he made our night even more enjoyab
I have been bowling here for 30 years, 3 times a week on leagues. It started to go downhill a few years ago when Bowlero bought out Bowl America. But, it has gotten progressively worse this bowling season. Last fall, it was so cold in there, I had to wear my winter coat while I sat in-between frames. And, the place is filthy. The concourse and settee area floors are not swept, vacuumed or mopped regularly (if at all). There are remnants of spilled food under tables and spilled drinks in the settee area.
If you enjoy the sport of bowling l, DO NOT go there. Everything is broken there. Been bowling since I have been 10 and will never step foot in this place again. My son feels the same way. It's poorly managed and if you get mad at anything and complain they will threaten to have you banned from ALL Bowlero locations. It's a joke.
Two weeks ago, we had a great time in this place as a family. It was our first bowling time as a family and we had really a lot of fun, loved the food and our beers.
Fantastic experience getting a summer pass from the eternally patient and helpful Ish. Not an easy task on a busy Friday with a hundred needy customers and impatient kids. 5/5
UPDATE (02.13.25): In the past few weeks since I wrote the original review, things have gone downhill dramatically. I heard Seamus, the manager, was recently fired. Now the lanes aren't oiled properly for leagues, broken lanes aren't fixed in a timely fashion, it's near impossible to get food/drink ordered since they don't appear to be properly staffed. And if you do manage to order, be prepared to wait close to an hour before even getting your order. The new manger doesn't even know that it's a USBC rule f
Lanes continued to break down OVER AND OVER. I spent more time sitting down at a table waiting for the lanes to be fixed than I did actually bowling. It got to a point to where I sat for 15 minutes straight, waiting for them to do a simple ball return. Abysmal lanes. Bathrooms were also the most vile things I have ever seen AND smelt. I don't think I'll ever be able to smell again because the stench burnt my nose hairs off.
Bowling alley straight out of the 80's/90's, very little has been updated in the past 20 years. That's NOT really a problem though. The food is decent, and the prices for everything are just how I like 'em - low and agreeable. Love this place, and if you can't overlook a few outdated things here and there, you might wanna work on being less judgemental.
There is no professionalism here. When I bowl the pins fly out and are in the bowling alley in the way of the next person. On top of that sometimes the balls don't come back out of the machine after bowling it. As well as that the chairs were on the verge of breaking, I could feel the rod of the chair poking me. Adding on to that the staff members were not cooperative. This is by far the worst experience I have had by bowling.
Amazing center to be a league bowler. Management works hard to make sure we are set up and ready to bowl. Good conditions, clean, and welcoming. All around I wish I could give them 10 stars!
First time taking our kids bowling in years. They were very short staffed, but the staff were friendly and working very hard to make sure everyone got what they needed. One staff member even brought over a pink dragon ramp for my daughter to use when bowling. Good experience!
Bowl America in Falls Church is usually crowded during business hours due to its good facilities and reasonable prices
Huge shout out to Arien for making our daughter?s birthday her ?best birthday ever!? Incredible hospitality and made our visit 10/10. Thanks!
The lanes are terrible. Bowl America FC clearly doesn't care to put any money or energy into maintaining their equipment. Games take forever because they constantly break down. At least the staff is friendly... when you can find them.
Bowlero has ruined bowling for the casual bowler. When to book online, and it was almost $80 for two people to bowl for 1.5 hours. I tried calling to see if I could just drop in and pay per game, but after going through several menus, I was directed to voicemail because they are busy helping other customers.
Don't try to go here with a Groupon. They dont answer the phone, they don't take reservations for Groupons, and the automated system tells you to just go there. Then all the lanes are reserved. Really lame.
League bowlers are treated best. Generally, party lighting is in-place. Limited fresh oil on lanes. Relatively slow lane problem fixing. All-you-can-bowl is a good deal. Now that Bowlero owns Bowl America; no lettuce, tomato, salad; best to order pizza and hot dogs.
Great people who work here. So friendly. We always have a nice time coming here.
We had a birthday party there. The kids enjoyed it and the bowling was great especially those who had a difficult time with properly releasing the bowling ball. The bumper rail made the games competitive.
Great, good American fun. Will return. Lane 18.
It's one of the better bowling alleys I've been to. Plenty of parking. It gets busy, so I recommend reserving a lane in advance. Decent bowling alley arcade but wish there was air hockey or something similar. The cocktails are solid, and I enjoyed the Buffalo cauliflower bites. The shoes I rented were clean and in far better condition than other bowling shoes I've rented. Will definitely come back here to bowl again and would recommend this place to any friends who want to go bowling.
Great place and kids love the arcade. Fun atmosphere
Even though it's a bit of a drive, I happily go out of my way to bowl at this alley because of the excellent customer service from Gabe.
Loose alleys. Hard to control hook. Used straight ball Wednesday night and bowled overage. Used hook ball last night and had good results. Lost last game by 2 pons, otherwise our team would have swept!
Good place to go for a few games of bowling. It is an older establishment, but you pay for what you get. There is a snack bar. Social distancing and wearing a mask is strictly enforced.
This place is poorly taken care of and the management is very dangerous. Do not come here. You are better served elsewhere.
This bowling alley is nice visually and usually not very busy, however when I went for unlimited bowling it was so hot in there, it was literally cooler outside in August than it was inside the building. The lane kept eating our balls and not spitting them back out, we moved lanes and it still kept happening. Overall just not worth the money spent since we spent time waiting on balls and sweating buckets.
First time celebrating there. We hosted our daughter's birthday party. Everything went smoothly, the service, the food and drinks and bowling lanes. Jon the Manager was very welcoming, and Nina our server took care of all of our needs. Overall, a lot of fun. Thank you, Bowl America.
Tons of fun for my family, super friendly staff. Took me back to my own childhood!
I loved this bowling alley. The staff were very cordial. There are tons of games to play in the arcade.Had an amazing time here
Been coming here for years, great staff, lots of improvements made but still the temperatures and humidity continue to be awful when it's hot or rainy. Customers shouldn't be sweating while casual bowling or shoes sticking to the lanes because it's too humid. Let's take this place from good to great.
They have a great staff and the lanes are well taken care of. Sometimes the food service can be a little slow, but they are all nice people. I also think they make awesome drinks, and the summer pass makes bowling here affordable during the summer months Good people, good lanes, I'm very satisfied with my experience
I have some good memories here but the customer service in the food department needs more attention. Otherwise, its a great spot.
Final Update: I don't know if they're trying to put themselves out of business, but this dump is even worse than my last update. Many long time leagues are leaving after this season because it is not league friendly. Sounds like they are turning it into another party house catering to casual bowlers. Also, if you value your health, do not order anything from the snack bar. Their last inspection was fraught with repeat violations. A copy is available at the Fairfax County Health Department. I've bowled in le
Divey, but in a good way. They often run great specials (unlimited after 9pm, half price Sundays), so check before you go! Normal price is ~$5 for rental +$5 per person per game. I would not recommend their food.
It's a bowling alley. Lost stars for no changing table in the men's room. It's the 21st century. Dad's have to change diapers too.
I've been to this specific Bowl America more than a handful of times throughout my life. I love that it still has its classic look that brings back all the memories of each time I've come here to bowl; walking into it feels like walking into a time machine and being transported to the early 2000s. Affordable and straightforward - definitely recommend!
Worst bowling experience I've ever had. Granted, it was Saturday at 630 PM in the summer, so I wasn't exactly expecting fresh oil, but approaches so sticky that I couldn't slide at all, plus trash and food waste on the approaches was ridiculous. The response from the front desk was a shoulder shrug, basically indicating all he wanted me to do was go away. My buddy and I had planned on bowling at least 3 games a piece, we didn't even really bowl 1, just went through the motions so we wouldn't stick and do
Mandy is absolutely AMAZING it was my family?s first time ever bowling EVER They just arrived from overseas and they've never even experienced anything of the sort when it comes to bowling the lights, the arcades, and just the overall experience she made everything Absolutely amazing for this experience. Thank you so much. I really appreciate the amazing customer service from this establishment. You will now have a forever client with my family.
The alleys and automated scoring are awesome. The food is good but not fantastic (it's a bowling alley, not the Brown Derby). I think the main area needs a bit of an update, it's very worn. Bowling is expensive now. It was over $70 for two of us to bowl 3 games each. That said, I still like bowling and will certainly come back to this place
Only game in town. What you see is what you get. If you are a league player it's not that good. But you want to have some fun it's a place to go. I think this might be much better after this summer because of the renovation. Right now another place might be a lot better.
Good Place to bowl and good snacks to have . Customer service is great and service is great
Booked a 2 hour birthday party package for 15 people for my wife's birthday and she had an absolute blast. Great staff, clean, good drinks and busy but not too crowded. Will 100% be returning.
They have some good deals and we got lucky with a short wait time for a lane. Food and drink prices seemed reasonable. The table at our assigned lane hadn't been cleaned from the previous people. We mentioned this to the person at the shoe rental counter and he called for someone to clean the area. About 45 minutes later, we we still had the dirty cups and food scraps on the table and a puddle from a spilled drink on the floor so we went to the food area counter and asked again. About 10-15 minutes later so
I was disappointed with my experience at Bowl America. The front desk service was fine. The food service was AWEFUL. The pretzels tasted very unpleasant and had a foul smell, the cheese nachos barely had any cheese which was melted, and the person taking our food order seemed disoriented, making mistakes multiple times and failing to repeat our order accurately. we still didn't get the right order With multiple mistakes on our order. It was one of the worst Bowl America locations I've visited.
Posted a review here over 6 years ago and let me tell you it has changed. Great staff overall. Management is really engaged and food was really good for a Saturday out with friends and kids. Funnel Cake Fries were a huge hit with the kids. Bang for your buck its really 6 stars.
This bowling alley has seriously not aged well. The foods not great, the lanes seem outdated, the arcade is tiny and im pretty sure the machine that gives you the arcade cards is incapable of adding money to it. and since its practically run by Bowlero anyway, you might as well just go to the ones in Tysons Galleria or Crystal city anyway. Like not terrible, just a little outdated. If you like an old school bowling experience then definitely check it out but personally I think it's mid.
Horrible Center, place is not kept up at all, incompetent staff team, would have given it 0 stars if possible ????
Crazy loud inside, food is really slow and the arcade games often don't work. The actual bowling, while pricey worked well for kids. Some of the staff were helpful others seemed to hate working there.
Unlike what the Owner (Bowlero) describes its venues in the profile, this place is not ruined by the "hispter inspired...back light" interiors with impotence lanes like other locations. I was glad to find this location and hope this location doesn't attract too much guests, so Bowlero leaves this place as is. I originally gave 1 star just because I wanted Bowlero people to stay away, but I guess that can hurt the businesss. Sorry, Bowl America the real bowling place.
Great place great food nice service
We had a fun time here! The food is about what you'd expect at a bowling alley. The interior appears to have been recently redone and is very clean and well-cared for. The staff were helpful and friendly! It is a little pricey to go on a Friday night or other popular time, but they have a lot of great deals for other nights. The reserve ahead system is a little overly complicated and wasn't needed. There were plenty of lanes available for our group of 12. I would recommend it!
Easy to reserve lanes online, lane was ready when we arrived, wrist bands for all you can drink for $20, and the manager even extended our lane for no charge when we ran out of time. Had a great time. Go get your bowl on.
I won't say his name but the guy that answered the phone was rude Most of front desk people at night are rude but hey cheap bowling I guess, I'm not asking for service with a smile and sounding all cheery, I get they probably dislike their job but you don't have to act like you want to off yourself because I decided to ask a question or go bowling
A little outdated, though they have a new and improved menu. Interested to try other things! Prices are reasonable.
Decided to go bowling for the first time in forever and Bowl America did not disappoint!! It was crowded but we got our shoes and our lane quickly (had an online reservation). The package included 2 drinks which was awesome! The music was fun all night & our group had a great time. Highly recommend for something fun to do that isn't just sitting at a bar.
Good place to spend your time with friends or family. On Saturdays after 6 pm, you can get discounts. There is a cafe that you can get beer, snacks, fried chicken, etc.
Only one staff member was present, resulting in poor service.
We celebrated a birthday at Bowlero in Falls Church, and the staff could not have been more accommodating and gracious! The food was great, and we had a ton of fun! Thank you!
Family Time Is The Best Time.... Why Not Snap A Few Pictures For Great Memories.
Very nice staff and great place to go.
So fun! Completely renovated. A little disappointed that they removed the comfy old school seating by the lanes. Everyone ends up standing around waiting for their turn... but, we had a great time. Kids enjoyed the pizza and arcade games!
I never really bowl but this place was still a fun experience. They could really use some cleaning and better customer service though! One of the front associate gave my boyfriend a pair of shoe that had different sizes on it. He went back and gave him 2 left shoes. Maybe paying more attention to work and keeping the shoes organized might've helped. Not entirely sure if the place is supposed to look a little bit old/rustic but when we got there, there were still a lot of people: families and kids playing.
We went for a 5 year old birthday party, and I really loved that they have those metal frames that make it easier for the little kids to bowl.
Sold out to bowlero. Obviously don't care about leagues and how they treat people anymore Edited Review-I've reached out to both your guest services and corporate operations team in the past. They never respond. Maybe you need to find a better system for resolving problems rather than sending people in circles?
Excellent and helpful bowling alley. I had left my Adidas tote bag in the alley after CHIT tournament. They spent two hours looking for my bag and found it. They kept my bag in a safe place for my friend to pick up. The staff was excellent before and after my tournament. Would recommend this place to anyone?. Thanks so much for your help. Can't wait to return. A++++
This place is great specifically I want to shoutout Mandy the bartender she makes a mean good boozy blue and Aidan the shoe guy he let me know that the unlimited deal on Sunday is a great deal and I'm going to make sure that I come back here to bowl they both were very polite to me and made sure that I had a great time with my friends
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
