The worst food I have ever seen even at a bowling place: garlic fries were swimming in oil, pizza and other fried stuff took almost an hour to come out, but I can't really blame the staff - it seems like there was only one person working in the kitchen cooking, taking orders and doing everything else. It is also scorching hot in the playing area.

If want good bowling, this is the place to be. The alley is so nice: a small class of bowling students frequents the establishment. Friendly staff. Well-maintained equipment. On certain days/nights you can do 'all-you-can-bowl'. The 'party lights' are often on in only a portion of the alley. First, I was told that unless there is reservation, we cannot take up more than 2-3? lanes (12 people max)? We were a party of 18. This is after I showed my groupon discounted vouchers. Second, I was told that my son's license, because it was vertically aligned, means that he cannot drink alcohol even though the ID clearly shows that he is way past 21. Coming from Falls Church Bowlero there is no comparison. Fairfax is much cleaner, the approaches are much better and they put out a good shot. I am very happy. Also all of the equipment works!

I really don't understand why the reviews are as low as they are. You just have to go at the right time so that it's not expensive and crowded. We went on a Thursday night and got unlimited bowling ?? with shoes ?? included for like $16 per person. We ended up playing like 10 games. It was so worth it.

Guest service here just sucks, especially the food. It takes FOREVER to get your food and the salespeople have THE worst attitudes towards you and always seem angry. This needs to be fixed!

Overall, my husband and I had fun. Our lane had a technical issue that they had to fix. We sat there about 10 minutes waiting for a go ahead, but the lady went a back way to go to the front desk. Bowling is always a family fun but, can be annoying if the system doesnt work properly. The place is old with likely no upgrades in multiple decades. The screens and the interactive board inputs had the 80s/ 90s feel. The lanea given to us froze after 10 minutes. And wont reset by the attendents efforts, then they moved us to other lanes. This place is very much outdated, tv screens display only 4 count, no animation, even adding name feel like working on ancient computers, but the lanes are good we had fun time with friends, we used Groupon voucher it good for the price, but it has day and time restrictions please check conditions.

Big fun! Purchased through Groupon. 2 hours plus shoe rental for 2 people $23. Staff was pleasant and got us checked in fast. The location is clean and has a great atmosphere. Will go again.

I grew up coming here when I was a kid just like my daughter has since she was born in 2018! Place is full of memories, actually good food, and fun for anyone who loves to bowl! I love the place!

Very shady about pricing. Asked upfront if you pay per hour and they said yes. You actually pay per game per person and not per lane per hour like most places. The price per game per person is not on their sheet of prices. Everything worked but it is pretty dated.

Everything is ancient, and our score machine kept glitching and reseting on us. It could be turned in to kind of a fun retro bowling ally, but the systems in place need to be functional, and things need to be cleaned up a bit. Overall the vibes were just off. Shockingly overpriced as well.

Fun place to bowl but awful service and management. Came here on my buddies birthday and they cut us off after two pitchers between 5 people for no reason. The bartender is was particularly rude about it as well. Had two beers and was cut off for absolutely no reason whatsoever. If you wanna have a good time I would recommend going to the million other bowlero owned alleys around nova. Would not return under any circumstances.

Has always been a good bowling alley.

$9 a hame and $6 for shoes. A family of 5 to bowl two games cost over $125. For elite bowling alleys this would be high and this place doesn't even have water fountains that work.

Great place to have a kids birthday party. The crew was very patient as we hosted 18 kids 5 and under.

Always have a fun time here, ever since I can remember. Food is actually decent for a bowling alley as well. Definitely a good place to take your mind off things with a friend or two, or even alone.

Went here for our 7 yo, friends birthday party. There were 2 other kids birthday parties there and the staff was kind, patient and willing to help everyone as quickly as possible. The staff at the snack bar was so nice and quick with all the food orders too. Really great local spot and will be back especially during these cold winter months.

Went to this Bowl America and it was fun we went on a Friday night and we ordered food but it came out kinda late and we had bowled for 2 rounds already. The shoes there are rent but you can bring your own shoes. The night was pretty solid but definitely could have gotten better service

This was our first time here. Great staff. We had parked in the back, not aware of the parking in front of the building. Destani was very nice and walk with and unlocked the back door for us. My nephew had a blast and bowled his best game. The lanes are well taken care of. We will be back.

The oldest bowling alley I've seen in the last decade - which would be fine, except it's about as clean as a gas station bathroom.

Have been to this location and falls church one many times over last decade. Brought my daughter here and we were the only people in the entire building. Staff tried to scam us into some unlimited play thing and insisted we used their shoes, despite having our own. Manager was NASTY and didn't care my daughter cried. Gave me a refund with a snear and not a word. Never again and will let all area families we know to avoid this business. Doesn't look like they will be around much longer anyway.

We paid for all you can bowl on Friday night. The service of the manager was terrible. I called to get service on the bowling pins and she told me not to call. How else are we supposed to get the pins fixed. The intercom is terrible. Basically, Bowl America Fairfax or Bowlero robbed us out of our money, time and fun.

Friendly people, good lane conditions, good lane equipment. I have not seen a mechanical lane problem in 1/2 year! (that is VERY good). The flatbread pizza is very good. Yes, the scoring display is old. However, it accurately records everything!

Its pretty dated, lol, and I suck at bowling but it was a fun first experience for my daughter. She was very excited.

Staff is a joke, lazy and have no clue of what customer service is. If you like getting eyes rolled at you and a -sigh- to follow this is the place. Seen better customer service at a McDonald's. Take out the disrespectful staff from the equation and bowling is not that bad. I wanted to give this place a try regardless of the low reviews and regret it. I would highly recommend "Bowlero Annandale". Longer travel, but staff is more friendly there.

They had a dark side of lanes durning the day

The place was a mess. The women's restroom only had one stall with toilet paper. All the soap dispenser were out. Then when we went to pay, they said the system was down. We told them we had to leave to pick up our kids and it magically worked. There were dirty dishes everywhere. My opinion is it's over priced for the filthy environment.

It's a hidden lanes that one should try to go to. They go out of their way to make sure you are having a good time.

Bad experience at this bowling alley. Our group of 6 requested 2 lanes, which they begrudgingly gave us, but went out of their way to space them far apart. (soon after we started they placed another bowler in the open lane next to us). When the lane on the other side opened up, we asked to move lanes. The cashier was very rude, but eventually moved us. To top it off, the drinking fountain was out of order, but when we asked for a cup of water they instead tried to force us buy bottled water instead.

Updating below a bit post COVID, I suspect the business is struggling a bit but I love having this option still. Very disappointed with this location. It used to be Bowl America, but it's now $53 if you want to rent a bowling lane for about 2 hours. They blast the music so loud that you can't focus. It can also be quite overwhelming.

Nice bowling center. Has not had air condition all year. Humidity in center makes lanes sticky.

My friends and I had a great experience here. The staff was friendly and helpful (shout out to Nick). Not gonna lie, we had a couple lane problems but Nick was always nearby to help. He also told us about the student discount which is helpful for us college kids trying to save money (me irl). Prices are good. Large bowling alley in Fairfax. Decent prices for bowling. Special pricing on weekends after 10:30 PM. The place has a small arcade and a little eatery. Food is burgers, pizza, fries, hot dogs, etc. They also serve beer for the adults. The restrooms were clean. Overall, we had a nice time.

Worst experience ever. The management do not care or cannot seem to understand the problem. The bowling scoreboard did not match with the pin cycles and we complained once. Fun place to go with the family. The games aren't too expensive and everyone has a good time. The food isn't something to get excited about but it's there. Call ahead first to see if there are tournaments or league nights happening because you might get stuck waiting for a lane to open up. Brings me back to when I used to go bowling as a kid...because not much has changed.

When we told this to staff three times but they do not care about the it. We asked that we don't want to play and we don't want to play but they charged for the whole game what we didn't have play. Tonight I had a wonderful time at Bowl America Fairfax with my family. I've been coming here for 10 years and have never encountered bad service. The staff was also very accommodating with my sisterss anxiety as well. I would recommend them to everyone looking for great bowling and a great experience.

I've been bowling here for years. The lanes are usually in pretty good shape. The staff has been good even with some change over the years. Food is typical bowling alley fare. The price M-Th to bowl unlimited is very cheap.

The absolute WORST customer service I have ever experienced in my ENTIRE life. There is not an ounce of my being that would recommend this bowling alley to anyone. The way this staff treats paying customers is a total disgrace and no one should be treated the way I was today. Don't bowl here. The staff is awful and this place hasn't be update since 1970, they still use cathode ray tube displays. They lie about the prices and take a credit card up front before you begin to make you believe you're prepaying. They charge per game per person so a 2 person hour rental comes out to $50.

People rude, bowling lanes not good, their games keep loosing track of the score and keep resetting on their own. When this happened multiple times we were wanting to cancel the game and they were rude and made us pay for all games. So please avoid until there is no other option and you really want to bowl!!

Haven't bowled for many years and felt very comfortable and welcome for various reasons! One of them being Nick, who helped out my family with shoes + our lane. Will definitely be coming back to this Bowl America!

We come to this alley every monday. The extremely friendly staff knows us by name and is what keeps us coming back. The lanes get oiled regularly, TV's between the lanes, clean bathrooms and best of all only $7.49 + shoes all you can bowl 9pm-12 during weeknights. Definitely a spot for bowlers rather than the glamor of an alley like pinstripes in Georgetown.

Well, I have to admit, I've been there twice, but it's kinda weird there. First, it has an amazing vibe to it, like an old time-y one. Music is amazing! The guy at the shoe thing seems like her hates his life, but ehh. Bowling is so much fun there! I feel so happy when I go there! Worst bowling place I've ever gone to. Customer treatment is the worst I've ever seen. Our game broke and workers told us it is fixed (which was not) we continued playing until it finished. We went up to pay and the total went from 12$ to 48$! The workers response said that we did NOT COMPLAIN ENOUGH! Know that if you simply make a reservation for lane, you are charged an 18% ?event fee? on everything (lane, shoes, food, drinks, etc). Absolutely ridiculous to be charged an additional 18% just to make a lane reservation.

Older bowling alley, but clean and well kept. The only issue we had was that while we bowled, our children would shout ?yay!? Or ?woohoo!? After every turn. We weren't out of control or being overly loud, but management came by our lane to ask our kids to quiet down. Seriously? It's a bowling alley filled with kids. Ours wasn't the only kid cheering. #partypoopers.

We went today and it was awful, starting with the terrible customer service from the cashier, we order wings which were really cold in the inside it seems like the made the food long before and just reheated, purchased the card for the games but all the machines were broken when asked for a refund they refused and told us to use the card in other locations, most of the screens are quite old and we had to ask for help more than 5 times because the system was frozen and we were unable to play.

Some lanes stop working really easily. Whenever I go there I feel like I went back in time to the 80s because of the looks of the place. The service is decent, though it feels a little pricey to play.

After going to the bowling alley in Centreville, I will never come back here. Very limited selection on food/beer and everything is old/run down. When a girl in my group asked for a lighter ball they said it was reserved for children.
