A family favorite for decades, it's our go-to place for bowling any time. Love the lanes and atmosphere. We've had birthday parties here in the past to every child's delight. The recent renovation were a good makeover that we appreciate. Less happy with the food prices. $5+ for a soft drink seems high.
AVOID Sundays ---- I was there with 5 other people, we made reservations with 1 week in advance. Our reservation was from 1300 to 1500, the front desk was fast and provide us with all our shoes, then I tried to order food, and it seems they have on Sundays some type of league, so all food in the oven was just for them. I tried to order "Alley Sampler" and I was told "NO, for at least 90+ minutes, since they were ONLY doing pizzas for the league, then I tried to order 2 pizzas for us, same answer. I then t
Not a terrible bowling alley. It's very very dated if you go inside - the TVs and consoles all look like they've never been replaced since the 80s. It was a little strange feeling, but also kind of a cool throwback compared to the modern bowling places that have crazy animations and stuff all over the screen. This place wasn't about any of that - just good simple bowling. Speaking of, the actual bowling itself is quality. Good lanes, decent balls and rental shoes. Staff were friendly enough as well. They al
Bowl America in Burke exceeded all expectations during my recent visit with friends, offering an unforgettable experience that left us eager to return. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the stage for an evening of fun-filled camaraderie. The ambiance at Bowl America was lively and inviting, with the sound of crashing pins and cheerful chatter filling the air. The vibrant d?cor and modern amenities created a welcoming environment that instantl
It's an average bowling place. Nothing special. I think it is a little overpriced especially the food. Everything looks like it's from the 1980?s. Even the machines are old. The place needs to be renovated and updated. The pins get stuck in the middle. And you can only have either bumper guards up the entire time or no bumper guards at all. There is no in between.
We went a while ago, but my girlfriend and I went to a location that was closed due to understaffing so we went to the Burke location with low hopes. We showed up late at night and were warmly welcomed by managers Jakob and Abdalla. They had great customer service and were helpful in getting our shoes and lane set up. The alley was decently full for being so late, yet they both made sure to help us and bring the drinks we ordered in a timely manner. They both were very kind and made the whole experience pos
Bowling is not bad, $5 for shoe rentals, and $6 a game. Food better than expected. A bit pricey once you end the game..
Nice clean bowling alley. Good setup for parties for groups of all types. Our young teens spent almost as much time on the gaming section as bowling. Facility seemed well maintained. Bowling seemed pricey, but probably because I remember prices from the old days. Food was OK, but pricey. $20+ for a medium cheese pizza. They did a good job of keeping the food hot on the serving table, that surprised me. Good experience.
Staff are great, the bowling balls are disgusting and Grimey ? all of them And every single ?win a prize? game is rigged. Prizes fall out when you win. See video
We celebrated our son's 16th birthday with a group of his friends and they had a great time! The manager, Beth, is the nicest ever and Jenna the kitchen manager was absolutely fantastic! The food was plentiful and delicious - happily fed 10 teenage boys with some leftover. I would highly recommend having a party here!!
This is a great, family-friendly bowling alley. It is well maintained and the staff is very helpful.
My girlfriend and I love going here for date nights or with friends/family! We always have a great time and the place is very well maintained. Last time we came to visit the front desk associate Jakob Shorbe was very welcoming/friendly and helped us out a lot when our game glitched. Overall he provided a very enjoyable experience so thank you to him!
We had fun, staff was nice. Had issues with the computer but my 2 yr old kept messing with it so to be expected. Old school programming. Food portions seemed a little pricey, overall quality of food and quantity left more to be desired. Lane was in good condition and we went on Friday at 6pm which is league night (didn't realize) and were able to get 2 lanes side by side, one for 4 adults one for 3 kids. Staff brought us ball chute for kids without having to ask and bumpers were good. Will play again.
Free games. Go online to Bowl America's web site and sign up for the blast pass. You immediately get it in your email and get 2 free games for all kids, and an adult. You just have to rent shows at $5 a piece ($2.50 for military). Use the pass as much as you want for the week. Deal is good for the entire summer. This location is not busy at all after 5pm, take your pick of lanes. Kids under the counter table height are free for shoe rentals. Owner is very nice as well. Bowling balls for kids (6lb and un
Been coming for the past few weeks and it's always a good time. Staff is super friendly. Jakob, the regional manager came and talked to us on our last visit and was amazing. It's a great spot for a fun, relaxing time.
Great facility, well kept, fun staff, good food!
Old and run down in an absolutely endearing and lovely way. There's something about older bowling alleys that warms the heart. Great prices after 9:00 pm.
Would have gotten a 5 star from me and my whole family who spent Mother?s Day there and booked a ?party? for 2 hours with food included. The bowling was fun and we enjoyed it! Would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the waiter who was helping us, refused to refill our food (for a party food is supposed to be replenished for the entirety of your party) we were told no and thankfully the manager made it right. But it put a huge damper on our day and celebration. Probably won't go back truly bc the waiter w
Good place to spend time friendly but some time to busy . After 7pm you can come for less payment
We have been bowling here for about a year. There are several options in the area for bowling but we keep coming back here because of the staff. Everyone is always attentive and friendly. We just had a birthday party here, and it was a fantastic experience. Upon our arrival, the manager immediately introduced himself to us and took us over to where our party was being held. He sorted out the details of when we wanted the food, confirmed our orders, and everything ran perfectly from there. Brenda and Morgan
Fun times. Staff worked hard on nye. Tasty food, big mugs of beer.
went here with two of my siblings. i like how the front windows are tinted. we were given lane 8. the thing that sets up the pins just dropped them on the ground and then pushed them towards us. like they were flying if flying was done on the ground. was dying laughing with the guy who tried to fix it. wasnt fixed during my bowling career so we were moved to lane 9. the only reason i dont give it a five stars is because it counted that whole side quest as a strike for my brother. who am i kidding he was gon
Decided to come here instead of an alley closer to my house and the environment was spectacular especially Jakob, he was a cool guy who even remembered my whole group from last time we came over a month ago
Terribly overpriced and horribly run. I thought with the price increases and the new Bowlero bowling listed on the website I was in for a day of nice and fancy bowling...that couldn't have been further from the truth. This place is still the same dumpy bowling alley from the 80's. That's not the bad part, the staff literally just stare at you when you walk in and offer almost zero assistance when the lanes have an issue. When I asked the manager about ingredients of food items being served at a kids party h
We have enjoyed bowling here as a family a few times now. It is an older bowling alley, which shows in some areas, but you can see they have tried to update it with new monitors and graphics. It's moderately clean (some greasy menus and tables could be wiped down). Everyone who works there has been friendly, as well as the patrons. The leagues look fun! My main reason for taking off one star is that I do wish it was a little more affordable (it was a little over $20 for two of us to rent shoes and bowl one
Really friendly staff and a great atmosphere all around, whether you're in a weekly league or bringing your kids in for a few weekend games. I bowled my first strike here 30 years ago, and my kids each did the same in 2023. Feels great to support a mainstay of the Burke area.
The bowling itself is fine. Dated, but I don't care about that. What bothers me is some of the staff, especially the food staff and quality. I had two employees sigh when I asked them when the food stand is open. They responded with "Ugh... Give me some time. I just got here.". They opened at noon and didn't open the food service until 1:15. The guy at the food counter didn't want to be bothered. When asked if he was ok, he said he was working on his day off and didn't want to be there. When the food came o
When we arrived, we were greeted by a staff member at the check-in counter who was very friendly and helpful. On my uncle's second throw, the gate of the pinsetter was stuck in the down position. It was dark in the bowling alley due to the cosmic bowling element, so we did not see that the gate was stuck. As a result, my uncle's ball got stuck in the lane. We asked a staff member for help, and he told us to wait. Another staff member went to retrieve the ball, but instead of using the proper care for our pe
The pin spotters are constantly breaking and balls get stuck behind the lane. It's often hard to even finish a game. This is closest to our house, so we have gone many times but we'll be going elsewhere now.
Recently went for a kid's Bday party. IT WAS FANTASTIC. The Burke Bowl America did not disappoint. Prices per head were reasonable considering what we got. Tons of very tasty, well-prepared dishes, a cookie cake (decadent and thick!) and bottomless sodas. All set up on a table ready for us at a time that was convenient for us. We bowled, laughed, and ate! Near the end, with so much food still left, the staff boxed up the leftovers FOR ME while I continued to bowl. The facilities itself were neat, clean, up
We joined Bowl America on the family plan for the summer and, honestly, it was a great investment! For a nominal amount of money, our family got to bowl up to three games per person per day and shoe rental was included. We will do it again in a heart beat. The staff at Bowl America, particularly Walid and Brenda, are just plain great people and the alley is well maintained. The food is pretty darn good and reasonably priced and they have great beer deals for the adults. we have thoroughly enjoyed our summer
Great service but the layout needs help. Too crowded amd weird to have one table upper and one lower
Bowl America is transitioning to Bowlero. Currently undergoing some renovations but still open. Hope they keep seating. Staff very helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Bowling on morning league is quite fun.
The manager of this alley is rude when you try to clarify prices. Going to report this to corporate. Gave me the shrug and everything for doing your job. Great customer service lol. He's definitely climbing the corporate ladder that way
Celebrated a birthday for my grandson there. The kids had a good time. It was reasonably priced for NoVa. Only issue, too cold inside! I, and others, had to stand in the southern facing entry to warm up every few minutes.
They've emailed the bowl blast which is a discount coupon as the picture during summer, and our family have enjoyed with it. I went there yesterday(8/27) with my kid and played some games as usual. When I paid using the coupon, they said that they've changed ownership and don't take the coupon anymore. I had to pay all with weekend extra charge too. The business name and sign was the same as usual. There was nothing that customers should know about the changed payment policy. Parents!! Please be careful. If
The bowling here was nice. We had a bit of trouble figuring out the machine to enter our names and then to play more games but the manager with the dark hair helped us. There were not too many people there and we were able to be pretty isolated and not worry about others coming close to us. We are not great bowlers, but my son enjoyed himself so that makes me have a great time too. We did not eat there but it smelled good. They also gave us a military discount after I showed my ID. Always a bonus.
I brought my daughter here twice in one week and was turned away both times. One Thursday evening and Sunday minutes after they opened. Both times I was told they were sold out and had leagues taking up the rest of the lanes (which were completely empty). At 1206 Sunday there were 3 other lanes being bowled in and I was told they were sold out. As I sit in the parking lot writing this review I am seeing several groups of families go in, get turned away and drive off. If you're in a league this might be a go
Kinda like a classic bowling alley. Nothing is really modern about it, but it doesn't need to be, it works. Staff are amazing the prices are cheap. It doesn't have the old bowling alley fog of cigarette smoke and stink, it's relatively clean. The bowling shoes are not old. They were new and modern, 2-3 years old tops. What's not to love about this place. Best part outside of the bowling is the modern arcade with a few great games and fun claw games, runs on tokens. The food from the diner is actually am
Definitely one of my favorite bowling facilities to go to. I usually go around the area for leagues and whatnot. This one being closest to me I always come here to practice with friends. I went today, and it was especially busy considering it is a holiday week. Luckily, I made it right before the rush. Taylor and the crew made sure to get me settled in. The lane I got had some scoring kinks, but despite it being busy, Taylor made sure to get it fixed. For it being insanely busy, the lane conditions were
Apologies I haven't left a review until now as I've been coming to Burke Bowlero for the last two years. To be honest every single location in the area has been an amazing experience (Chantilly before they closed, Falls church, fairfax) except for Edsall Shirley, pre covid pre Bowlero, and post Bowlero post Covid Shirley edsall is horrible (another day any other time if I ever leave the review for them lol). Moving onto the more important stuff, Burke is probably the most well balanced alley in the area. He
Bowlero Burke has new management. Overall, everything had improved quite a bit! Keep it up, guys and gals! You're going great!
The place is clean and affordable. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Everyone wore a mask. A game and shoes for a family of five was around $50. Will definitely be returning in the future. Food was subpar though, unless you like cardboard pizza and styrofoam fries, recommend eating beforehand or planning to eat later.
3 of my friends and I went here yesterday and the experience we had was horrid. Firstly let me say the young lady at the front desk who greeted us was very friendly and helpful in getting our lanes setup. The equipment however at this alley was horrible, the ball return left just terrible streaks of rubber, dirt, scuffs, scratches and grime on our personal balls, the guard rail got stuck multiple times on one of our lanes. We didn't notice the guard rail not lifting once because of cosmic bowling element an
Overall, it's a nice bowling alley. Unfortunately our lane was not working correctly at all. It was busy, but we did let them know and it didn't get fixed for awhile. We decided if it wasn't going to get fixed we would just head out, and only pay half our game or just our first game if that was possible. When I came up, and asked what we should do before we leave, the employee rudely responded and said "Define leave?". It was obvious he was just trying to get a rise out of me. He then proceeded to pretend l
Came to this facility while traveling for work. I was greeted by a manager named Jenna. I explained to her what I do for work and that I a huge love passion and love for bowling. She was extremely into the conversation and definitely made me feel more like a friend then just a typical client. She told me all about the leagues the company offers and told me how I could get involved. Her knowledge and passion for her job shined through. Thank you for making my experience a memorable one! You rock!!!!!!
Yesterday we celebrated my son's 5th birthday at the Bowl America Burke. It was awesome. I am over 8 months pregnant and was looking for an easy, stress-free way to celebrate his birthday. The staff went above and beyond to make that happen. The whole party process went super smoothly. I called and left a message regarding reserving the party and was contacted the next day. I easily reserved over the phone with my credit card. I called a week later to give them the number of people attending and asked if
It's a bowlero now but it's still the old bowl of America I have gone to since elementary school. We went this past Sunday and had to ask for assistance 5 times before being switched to another lane. The new lane still acted up. We only stayed for 1 game because it took so long to get through due to the malfunctioning ball retriever and pin machine. Highly disappointed
Reserved and paid online for a planned birthday celebration (teenage son) and management called 24hrs prior to notify us that they'd overbooked. VERY inconvenient and last minute for all families involved and all Bowlero could offer was a refund. PLEASE be cautious if you book online, as it isn't guaranteed (despite what the website says).
Staff are rude. Bowling was fine.
The staff and managers are great. I have bowled league here for the last few years and never have to worry about un-oiled lanes or being sat next to retail customers with no bowling etiquette. Compared to the other Bowl America/Bowlero centers in the area, Burke could use some upgrading. For one, I have no idea why there is not a bigger kitchen/full bar. Located in a residential neighborhood with no bar within 3 miles = cash cow. It's basic economics. Pair that with the amount of action and people that the
Beautiful renovation, excellent customer service...definitely went above and beyond. We had a fantastic experience.
Loved the place but got the slowest machine out there. After every bowl, it took quite a while to start again or to reset. Sometimes the system didnt register the bowl and would let us hit few times just to get to the next turn.
Average bowling alley at best. Seems most lanes have difficulty giving your balls back. Tons of resets needed. Best things about this place are the draft beer, fries, pretzels and chicken fingers.
Food is better than most bowling places, Even tho it may be a bit outdated. I've been over 50 times and never really had a bad experience. The staff at the bar and desk are always friendly, as well as the locals. Almost never a waite time on lanes depending on time of day and week. Kid friendly, reasonable prices, food is 8 out of 10.
They usually close at midnight on Saturday. We got here at 11 and we were in the parking lot , they closes the door on us saying , they are gonna close now . We are at the door . And they closed the door on us. Unbelievable
It's a place to bowl. Lanes need reset pretty often, the ball choice is not very good, and the condition of the shoes isn't great either. Vibe is pretty dim and dismal. The employees are nice but the physical place itself is pretty bad. Pay more and go to a Bowlero instead.
Went there with the kiddos bright and early on a Saturday morning. Great fun with our little ones while it wasn't crowded. The staff was very friendly and helpful getting our 2 and 5 year olds setup with shoes, balls, and they ramp to help them out.
I bowled in the summer league. The pinsetters were slow or completely broken. The ball returns left an oily gum substance on the balls, if they returned at all. But worst of all? They raised the prices on beer across the board by 25%.
We had my son's birthday party at Bowl America today. It was fantastic. Tables with decorations set up when we arrived, and our party hostess Jenna was friendly and available to help with any questions or anything we needed. We had 10 kids and were given 3 lanes. The kids were able to bowl as much as they wanted in 2 hours. Jenna said they usually serve the food about halfway thru for a little break. So we did that and then the kids wanted to bowl some more. We saved about 15 minutes at the end for cake. Ea
Cheap, but the ball return would not return my ball. I had to keep using a house ball for my second ball. When we were leaving. I had to get the guy to go back and get my ball. I have never had that happen before. Also, there were about 10 obnoxious kids being loud, dancing, posing for pictures, slapping at each other and being a general nucence on the actual bowling lanes for over an hour and nobody told them to stop. My family and I will not be going back!
Decent bowling alley, clean and well cared for. Has original ball return trays from the early 80s which is neat to see. Controls and screens are modern. Only downside is there isn't an arcade though the website says they have one.
Corporate owners care more about profits than customer experience. Only one guy doing everything. Don't tell me people don't want to work. You just don't want to pay them what it's worth.
We had a great time. The only complaint I have is the guy at the desk, not the most friendly or helpful guy. Not too many people there and there was dirty dishes on tables
Love going to Bowl America for a fun activity! Jakob was very helpful and friendly when playing with my siblings!!
The alley could use a little bit of a touch up since some of the lanes and arcade machines were not working, but overall it was still an enjoyable experience
This is our second time here and really not impressed. The game got somehow jammed and their comps broke down, no scoring, no end of game. When my kids went to talk to them trying to figure out what they scored, they were rude, just plain awefull! Accused my kids of playing extra games and yelling at them. I gave them an option to apologize or face up a bad review. They were hostile with me on front of my five kids. It was the middle of the day..... there was hardly anyone there and they were talking me dow
A traditional good bowling alley. Go for the Sunday night specials which are great with kids. Wouldn't bother going to the snack bar ever again. They take a bunch of orders and then don't know where the food is supposed to go. Plus a guy that's always there is also always rude so minus stars for that alone.
Had a great time on a Sat night. $9 per game + shoe rental. Not bad. Got a lane right away. Check-in was easy and fast.
This place is owned by Bowlero now. Lanes are still good. Not much renovation yet, but they are clearly building capital for it - small soda FOUR BUCKS!! Yeah baby. Family of 4 to play 2 games? 55 Dollars plus 20 for shoes!! Inflation has hit bowling lanes
This place is amazing! It's great for friends, family, and even special events! Major shout-out to the management team for being so amazing and cooperative!
The Sunday $2.72 deal is ideal for families with lots of children. We go there quite often...quiet and cozy, off in the cut...probably one of Burke's best kept secrets.
Who doesn't like bowling? The Bowl America is a Burke institution and a great place to with the family when the weather is terrible or school is closed. Too hot? Too cold? Its always a pleasant 68 in the bowling alley. Prices are cheap and the lanes are in good condition. My friends in Chantilly pass the Bowlero to come here because of the prices and because they want a non pretentious bowling experience. One note, allow yourself some time at the snack bar. It can get behind easily and take a while.
Actually nicer than I remembered. Staff was as friendly as any bowling alley and the mozzarella sticks were delicious. The bowling system screwed up a few times, but worked out ok in the end.
Usually is pretty good but has no indication if they close early for something until you actually arrive to the alley and see signs taped up :P
Best bowling center in Northern Virginia. Awesome staff, always make you feel welcome. They even got me to join a league. I highly recommend, always a good time.
Sinced Bowlero bought out the alley, it's gone downhill as far as service and cleanliness go. Only 1 or 2 people working and they have no knowledge how to reset pins or do a ball return. The ladies room sink needs recaulking after the dried up current and moldy caulk are removed and the floors have missing or mismatched tiles. It's the "only money matters and customer service and health don't" that Bowlero is all about.
Great service, quality bowling shoes, clean, and works well for young bowlers and.boethday parties. Had to bowl with a party of six on one lane which was slower but ok. They did have various levels of assistance for young bowlers.
Clean, well lit, friendly folks. Enjoyed.
Good customer service and nice lanes. Had equipment for the little ones to bowl. Definitely a family-friendly place to go this summer!
Great staff, great service, and good scores! What more could you want from a bowling center?
One of the only local bowling alleys but it still has a lot to offer. I grew up coming here and this alley has one of the best communities and staff. The scoring equipment is a bit out of date but if you can look past that, this is a great place to bowl.
I live near by and didnt know it was the close to our house. Pass by it and never knew it was there. Now the kids will have something to do on the weekend. Dont know why all bowling is very generic and dull and this place is not an exception. Overall, nothing to complain about.
This is my go to Bowl America. Nice and helpful staff. Concessions are what you'd expect. Lane quality can vary, but that's probably because I usually go towards the end of the night during the week.
A big thanks to Rick. Walked in Sunday morning after being away for the family for 3 weeks for predeployment training. The whole time I was away, my four-year-old daughter kept asking when we talked on the phone, when I came home, if we could go bowling. Open bowling was supposed to start at 2pm, but he got me in not even knowing this story. The father-daughter time meant the world to me and is something I'll remember for a long time. Thanks.
As a person who loves old school, this is a great place. However, its upside is allso its downside. Because it is outdated, the lanes break down or are slower. Also, the staff ranges from good service to theysecretly hate you for coming at that time. So at times this place is great, and at other times it isnt so great
Sunday $2.22 bowling is a great deal. Fairly straightforward, old school bowling alley. Not a fancy new place with specialty cocktails and high end food; it's exactly what you'd expect from an old school bowling alley.
My son showed up this morning and parked his car. Before he ever had the opportunity to walk from his car a woman opened the door and yelled "Hey, we're closed!" Then a man standing behind her yelled, "Didn't you read the sign?!" My suggestion is to let people walk up to the door and if there is a sign posted with the hours listed then they can figure it out. The couple stood at the door watching him leave as another car pulled into the lot.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
