Bowl America Bull Run

I really like this place and the renovations that they did. Very clean with nice TVs. My biggest issue is the seating. They have 4-person tables scattered around that don't line up with lanes so it's awkward to sit at because you're not necessarily in front of your lane. There are no other lane-specific seating arrangements.

This past year has been my first time bowling in leagues at this location. I've been very pleased with the lane setups prior to bowling start times, consistent lane conditions, food, and customer service from the manager and supporting staff. We usually have the same staff members taking and serving food orders, which isn't always easy with it being busy due to league activity, but they hustle and are very personable. I am looking forward to continuing bowling at this location! ??

Solid bowling house, great staff and great service. Cannot complain about dry lanes because they are oiled generously. As a righty, I moved 8 boards right - nearly hugging the gutter to roll into the pocket. I'll practice here again for sure.

One of the few places left that keep the real bowling atmosphere alive (with lights on). Been going Saturday morning to hopefully catch freshly oiled lanes and we have succeeded almost every time. Hope they don't transition to what the other typical bowleros are doing now like 24/7 cosmic bowling and minimal lane oiling.

Our children and grandkids who were visiting from California really enjoyed the chance to bowl again. All the bowling alleys in their area are currently closed due to COVID restrictions. We all had a great time. Thank you for remaining open and taking all the necessary precautions to keep us all safe.

Staffs are friendly but this bowling alley is always so packed Bowling balls are very limited, never have lighter weights. And they naver have variety size for fingers. They moved the ball station to the far side so i had to walk to get it. They also moved around the table so when you bowl, there's no seating or table for you. All the tables are for food.

We had arranged for out youth group to co.e in after hours for a lockout and it was amazing. Everything was clean. They were ready for us. The pizza was perfect. The staff was so good to us. Can't wait to do it again!!!

Staff is unfriendly. From the manager (Jess) to the servers (took 45 mins to get a pitcher of soda we asked about 4 times). Wings and nachos were ice cold when they came out. I love bowling here, but as a league member that was told I would be asked throw it away and possibly told to leave if I brought in food that worked for my diet. The only food/drink allowed is what is purchased from the snack bar. There is nothing that works for my specific diet, (low carb/low fat/low sugar) on the menu, and I use certain supplement bars. It is your standard bowling alley. Nothing feature packed or extravagant here. Great place to take kids for an affordable and fun evening. Just make sure it is not a league night as they do not have any available lanes those nights.

This place is amazing. All the staff are super nice and fast. If you go there a lot and/or are on leagues you meet very nice friendly people. The pro shop people are also helpful too. The foods good, music is fun. Has an arcade, and is great for party's.

Overall this is a great Bowl America. It seems recently remodeled which is nice, and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. They even have waitresses and waiters so you don't always have to run up to the bar which to me is a huge plus. The beers have been cold and fresh and the fries are awesome. The lanes are in good shape too, with enough oil to give them a pattern and a challenge but not making it impossible. Jess and Andrea are amazing. The lanes are well oiled and we've never had any issues with the pin setters. 10/10 bowling experience every time we go and by far the best bowling alley in the area.

Loved the overall bowling experience here. The staff is just wonderful here. They treat you with utmost respect and hospitality. We also noticed the staff members cleaning the parking lot after hours and picking up litter to ensure that the spot looks clean. Seemed like a nice place when we walked in, but went downhill after that. The machines were not working correctly and were miscounting are scores, when brought up to the employees they acknowledged the problem but said they had been experiencing the problems. After we finished bowling we asked if there was a discount for what we considered the unsatisfactory experience the employee then got quite rude. This is your classic bowling alley, with recent updates and renovations. The staff is very friendly and always pleasant to deal with. At check in I was told I could not PAY for a second lane because they might be busy and I NEED 6 people to be allowed to buy 2 lanes, however the entire time we were there they were never busy enough to fill all lanes. Aside from that we had multiple issues with the lanes getting stuck and not resetting as well as significant delays in receiving food and drinks. I will not be coming back to this location.

Employees were rude since our first encounter. Seem to be racist towards Hispanic people. The guy at the counter especially did not speak to us nicely in any way and had an attitude from start to end. Had fun bowling regardless but the customer service would kill the vibe!

I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. Went there on a Sunday with a group of friends and it was almost impossible to get a lane, even when there were multiple lanes open. I had to ask the front desk multiple times if we could start when the lanes were open. Once we FINALLY started, our lane broke down. I had a birthday party for my six year old son, and it couldn't have gone better! The staff was exceptional at answering questions and setting up the party. They made us feel extremely at home and they were very professional. Food was good and prepared right on time, and drinks stayed filled. We planned a small birthday outing, 4 kids and 4 adults, on a Saturday morning. With a prepaid Groupon for 2 hours for 6 people (one lane), we showed up at this location. We got two lanes--one for the kids, one for 4 adults. The number and variety of "house" balls was bleak--the balls were nicked/chopped up, the markings were worn off, the holes were mostly for very small hands. Grew up coming to this location. While it almost feels as it hasn't aged at all, some of the new modernized upgrades have given it a great touch. The place was slammed busy which I was glad to see. The crowd around us was super friendly and it was a great atmosphere. Service was a tad bogged down due to it being busy but the server and bartender kept a great pace!

Management really cares about customers. We had an issue with a league player yelling and putting hands on my daughter, management was quick to step in and diffuse the situation. Bowling lanes were nice however incorrect scores were given and employees/manager made no effort to fix it. When leaving I mentioned to them the incorrect scoring and they refused to do anything about it at all. I do not recommend this place to anyone due to very impolite employees and poor customer service. Overpriced for the low quality as well. Also while walking out the employees as well as manager were laughing and making very rude comments. Dont go here!

This was our first time visiting Bowl America Bull Run. Not sure why there are bad reviews. Our experience was wonderful. Staff was friendly, even with being as busy as they were. The bathrooms were fine, fully understanding the age of the facility. Lanes were in great shape. Food was awesome. Brought back many memories of my youth when my parents were in a league. Great time and we will visit again.

Place was good for bowling but the readers weren't reading our pins right and giving us the wrong score, when we mentioned it we were told it was a personal problem and were cussed out. Customer service is terrible and there machines are dysfunctional and they don't care to fix it. Wouldn't recommend wasting you money here, terrible place.

Visited 5/28/23, Sunday, for the "sunday funday" $3.99/game special. While at the counter to pay, we confirmed with the employee that the games were said price. The operations manager comes up to us on our FOURTH game and says it is actually $8.99, claiming it is on the website and the sunday funday $3.99 special was removed. We showed her the website and I could have spent the rest of mine and my future generations' lives looking for where it was. No where to be found. Oh, but what did I see? The $3.99 sun

We had a great time! They have old school monitors and the employees were all really nice. They put the bumpers up for the kids and everyone got at least one strike, which went a long way to helping my oldest have fun! There wasn't any loud music or flashing lights either. Kind of pricey but everyone who worked there was very nice and helpful. The entire place was mostly clean with what looked like fairly current and fully operational equipment. Took my daughter and her friends for her birthday and they announced it over intercom and played her the happy birthday song. Was a good experience and would recommend this place to others.

Clean, nicely maintained lanes and equipment. Mostly friendly staff. Aged and oily house balls and a "no outside food or drink" policy including water bottles. If you're going for bowling, this is the place. If you're going to party, go to bowlero.

Not much to look at from the outside, but the inside is clean. The lanes are well cared for. And amazingly, the pizza is very good! We took the kids for a couple of early games and they loved it! The staff was awesome and I was very impressed with the overall atmosphere. I can see us making more regular visits here.

It is BA what else can I say. It's the bowling alley I have known my whole life. They have added a lot of digital features. Food is good but fried. In that age of COVID I would recommend your own gear just to be safe.maybe bring some wipes. I did t see anyone wiping down anything.

Cannot Recommend this place. Went there for the first time last night and immediately had issues. When we got to the assigned lane the lights were off. Was told the lights were on (easy to see they were off), they could not get it working and switched us to another lane. Then more problems with it not keeping score correctly and skipping frames. Finally we decided to leave and asked for some compensation, they refused. Never going back.

Experience was meh. If you go here there may be an uneccessarily long wait for your order to b taken, or food to arrive at your table. The woman preparing food and taking orders was obviously in need of assistance. The sad part is they weren't busy, and she felt overwhelmed. The other staff just kinda let her sink. The guy in the pro shop is impossible to get a hold of. He doesn't show up to his scheduled hours half the time, and good luck ever getting a ball drilled on time. 3/5 stars because when you're actually able to talk to him he's knowledgeable, and the rest of the staff are nice.

This bowling alley is very underrated. The food is great, the atmosphere is unmatched. If you're looking for an enjoyable bowling experience then definitely come check this alley out! The manager is absolutely great, he helps out when it's busy and isn't afraid to roll up his sleeves.

Bad customer service the old lady is super rude. I went inside I've told her this is my first time explain me how it goes she said 5.69 for shoes 5 something for game. I said how much do I pay she was like that's going to be $11 something and you can pay at the end and you can play until 4 pm. When I went to pay the general manger ?David? charged me $51. I was shocked and told me that the manager didnt make it clear to me and she clearly told me I'll have to pay $11. He said pay me now and don't come back

Based on the reviews we were not expecting much of an experience, but to our surprise, a Saturday afternoon with the toddlers was extremely enjoyable! Great snack bar, with plenty of options on food and drink. Friendly check in staff, very accommodating for family fun! Great memories for our two 1st time bowlers! Thanks Bowl America!

Regardless of time, we seem to get stuck beside others even when the entire alley is open and empty. I can't lower the score because of inconsiderate patrons, but the bathrooms were pretty gnarly when I needed to take my toddler son. We ultimately did not use the facilities...

Horrific customer service. Employees all look like they rather rot in a coffin and the elderly manager doesn't even acknowledge customers as a human being capable of conversation- essentially ignoring their requests or needs. Would not recommend.

NOT RETURNING AFTER OUR FIRST VISIT! Took my 3 kids on a Saturday late afternoon to bowl and was greeted with rudeness. We ended up going to a lane that does not have bumpers and we asked to be moved to a lane that has bumpers for my kids to enjoy the game, since the lane Liz gave us does not have it. Bunch of shady a$$ mother suckers with no idea whats going on. Treated us like lepers bc one of our party got sick in flu season! HAD 7, YES SEVEN "security officers" stop us on the way OUT!!!!! Website said the lanes were open. No obvious schedule of when it's closed for leagues. The attendant didn't tell us we had less than hour before they would kick us out for leagues. We get set up and are about to bowl. We get told to change to a different lane. Barely into our second game before we were told we had to leave so they could set up for leagues could Charged us for both games anyways. It would?ve take no effort at all to warn us so we didn't waste our money and time. There are much nicer bowling

Kids love birthday parties here. I'm not really a bowler but the staff is very nice. It's not really my kind of place but everyone seems happy there when I'm there. Losses a star for cleanliness and food quality but it is a bowling alley...so if you like to bowl, I think this is a pretty good place.

I can't say enough about the staff at Bull Run. They are accommodating, profession and kind. The center is clean despite the fact they are busy often.

Great deal Monday nights for All You Can Bowl! Never had a problem here! Love their French fries! Not the cleanest but what can you expect from an old bowling alley where everybody touches everything.

This place is very spacious. It has it's own spaces that are separated by security screens and it's a big space! The food and drinks are really good, which is a nice surprise from "normal" bowling alley food.

Contacted them with concerns about selling out to Bowlero. Was told that they would have the operations team manager and top customer service staff person Colie Edison call me. I received a letter from there executive staff threatening me for contacting them instead. Threatening people who speak up when they're mistreated is terrible customer service and the exact reason why I contacted them with concerns about selling out to Bowlero.

Great place to go bowling. Especially on sundays because games are $2.22 a piece. The food is.. well its bowling alley food but that's not why you're there. The atmosphere is fun and there are a top of bowling balls of different colors and weights to choose from..The service and everything about this place is great. The Bull Run Bowlero hosted the team event for the 2022 Virginia State USBC Women's tournament. After experiencing disastrously horrible conditions at the Chantilly location the day before, I was very happy to bowl in a location which seems to care about their bowlers. The lanes were freshly oiled between shifts, the pro shop was actually open, and everything was clean. Thank you Bull Run for making the tournament more enjoyable.

The staff were all great. But, the prices were not worth the accomodations offered by the facility. Outdated equipment, old balls, and less than adequate seating available. This is a traditional bowling alley that thinks it is OK to charge an arm and a leg just to bowl, not worth the money. I will be bowling at Brunswick or another company that routinely updates their facilities.

This bowl America is ridiculous and not in a good way. I called the day of with hours in advance of when we were to go bowling. About 15 of our friends were joining us so I asked to reserve lanes. The man I talk to on the phone asked for a $50.00 reservation fee. This is outrageous all the years I've been bowling never have I had to pay a reservation fee. How I fixed this problem. Not a good place if you want to have fun. Very tight area for players and the league players are very disrespectful and seems like they are managing the place not the management. Waste of money and ruined weekend!!!
