Reasonable price for hours of fun! I have been here twice thus far. Once for a work outing and once with the family. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and the food was really good as well. Shout out to the staff, as they were super attentive and helpful when dealing with any issues on the lanes or when providing customer service at the bar. Highly recommend this bowling alley!
Have been bowling at this location for years?have enjoyed participating in leagues over the last couple of years. lanes are well taken care of??staff is very friendly..
I love this place. Staff are super friendly, the food is spot on and the atmosphere is great. It was very clean ! Our family loved it!!!! Definitely will be back more often . Best bowling spot in Rochester!
Great place to bowl whether you're in a league or just out for a good time. For the competitive, the conditions are usually solid and the upkeep is great. No ?bone dry lanes? here. For the fun seeker or family, traditional bowling atmosphere, beer with cheap drinks and a cafe for food, which is no frills but very decent quality and taste!
Figured pictures could use an update. The new system is nice and easy to understand. Helpful for true bowling enthusiast to do some quick math and figure out averages or see where you're bowling at. Then it's helpful all of this information uploads to an account you can create. I'm also loving the new flooring. Edit: 2/1/2013 just arrived for open bowling during open bowling hours and was told there is a half hour wait but there's open lanes. I realize you cater to your leagues first but that's rude that
I LOVE E-Lab so freakin much! The prices are VERY competitive. The ladies that have helped me have been absolutely wonderful throughout the decades I've been shopping here.
I went to Bowl-A-Roll on a Sunday and it was EMPTY. And for me it was quite confusing because I have never been to a bowling place where you don't reserve a lane for a certain time, instead you have to pay PER PERSON for each game. I do not think it's worth it, because here a lot of people end up being like ?let's do one more why not?? And with that thinking you will end up paying a lot of money especially if you are coming with a big group, cause like I said they charge you per person. They even charge you
This was a fun place. I bowled awful though compared to normal. Shoes were brand new and felt a little slippery on the floor. Was my bad for forgetting my shoes and ball. All the workers seemed great
They do bowling really well, I mean, it's a bowling alley.
Had a wonderful experience hosting a party for 50 guests at Bowl-A-Roll! The customer service was extraordinary. They set aside some lanes for us next to the party room, which made it super easy for people to play and mingle. Bar had an excellent selection, food was hot and tasty, and the ambiance perfect for a party with a kids of varying ages.
The lanes are well cared for, the staff is friendly and receptive, and it is all provided at a reasonable cost.
We just did a tournament here over the weekend, and I have to say it's probably the nicest house I've ever been to. The food is good and the bar is average priced but the lanes are incredible. The first house I've ever been to that has the dark boards at the end just before the pins. The computer is super cool as far as lane stats, it personalizes your game.....super cool. I wish the place was closer to me. ??. Definitely go again.
Went here two weekends ago around 7:30PM. My friend had called ahead and confirmed they close at 9:00PM. We figured we could bowl at least 2 games. When we got to the place, there was this really rude old guy at the counter. He said they close up at around 8:30PM and we could only bowl 1 game. We were angry and bewildered because we were already told what time they close and weren't expecting to be treated so rudely. Well our 1 game went way faster than anticipated and we were able to get one more game in
Overall solid bowling alley. Lanes cared for. Food menu is good. Friendly staff. Can't complain
I've been going to this place for 4 years and I enjoy every time I visit. This place is indeed a family/friend entertainment where everyone enjoys with fun! They have many lanes, different weights, food and drinks. The staff guys are cool and nice. This is also a good place for hosting an event. Also, this place has special offers for college students or after leagues so call them to check it out. Overall, great place for bowling, obviously, and just chilling out! :)
Great place! Helpful staff! Clean
Interior is very clean, food is quick and good. I also noticed that they updated the bowling set up things at each lane (they are touch screen now which is very cool ??) The staff there are nice and helpful and one round of bowling only costs $6 ($3 for shoe rental and $3 per game) This is a good price compared to other bowling alleys in the area.
Very family oriented Great place to bring kids
Lanes are in great shape, lots of pin action and the staff is super.
Good clean fun. Very supportive of homeless
Clean, friendly, but fairly basic. The seating area for bowlers is a bit cramped and two parties using the same seating can be awkward. Perfectly good bowling alley, but I felt it was a bit pricy for such a small, somewhat outdated place.
It was very busy Saturday night, but we made reservations before so we were able to play. The place was packed, but everyone was respectful. We were able to bring in Cake from Wegmans and store bought Ice cream as it was a friend's birthday. They supplied us with utensils and trays to use, which was very helpful. Bowling was fun even though there were so many people. It was a nice night. Will visit again for sure.
Grew up going here and have never had a problem with them. Leagues are competitive and friendly. Food is pretty good, popular enough that sometimes they run out of things (but not very often)
Nice local plaza-based bowling alley, especially popping on the weekends! Not state-of-the-art but certainly well-kept and with friendly staff.
Awesome bowling lane with pretty good prices and a welcoming atmosphere
This place packs on the fun and excitement. I love connecting and bonding with friends and family while bowling. I really wish for more healthy options for food since I have a lot of diet restrictions after surgery. Makes it hard to want to stay longer when I can't enjoy the food and maintain my well-being by keeping myself hydrated and fueled as I am being active while bowling.
As a family we had a good time. The old man at the counter was horrible. He kept telling us that we didn't pay for our people to bowl. He would stop our games while we were playing and charging us more money even though we had receipts and shoes. You can't get shoes without paying first but he kept trying to justify us not paying. I wouldn't recommend this place for a large group of colored people. He did the same thing to is last time we went. I didn't think this would be the norm or else we would've chose
Nice place, well maintained and not too crowded. My mobile lost signal when I was inside the building. Not sure if it was because of T-mobile coverage in that specific spot or maybe a coincidence. However as soon as I left the place, got signal back again. Anyways, I'm regards to the bowling itself, will definitely go back with the kids!
Watched the NCAA Bowling and Medaille University womens tournament.
6 people 2 lanes shoe rental 2 games good bar selection not bad at all!
Love Bowl-a-Roll! The kids bowl free program for the summer is such a great thing. Clean and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend.
I was there today with my School Age program for a field trip. It was a great time for our kids and a great place for a field trip. The staff were simply outstanding making sure we had everything needed to make a smooth transition from getting off the bus to start bowling. Our group ordered food, it was hot ready and again the staff we're great in making every transition run smooth. The price was very reasonable and it was a clean well designed facility and a real pleasure to be there. I would highly recomme
And when centers are quicker than the other bowling alleys
Absolutely love the family at Bowl A Roll! Although it would be nice if the GM would properly stock the bar.
Outdated but overall, a decent and affordable place for bowling enthusiasts. A good place for practice and honing your skills. It's $6 per person per game. $3 for shoe rental. There's food available although we didn't order any. Half the bowling lanes available are ?cosmo? themes, dark lanes with led lights. The other half are regular ones. Place is clean. Staff very courteous.
Great food, great bar, nice people working there. And their system at each lane to put your names in is an actual touch screen tablet thing- much nicer than the old school keyboard/buttons most places have! Plus there's so many lanes. My 3 year old and myself both Love this place!
We came in at 8:30 which was the starting time for open bowling and were immediately prompted to be put on a waitlist until 9:30 when they said there was an open spot. We got drinks and waited but still hadn't been called even after 10. We checked with the desk staff at 9:45 to see what was going on and they informed us we were placed below everyone on the list and that we may be waiting at least 30 more minutes. As we waited, multiple groups who came in after us were called to bowl despite there being a no
It was small and kind of dingy. Not the first choice for bowling by any means. The bartender was nice but not a bar tender. The person working the food counter had ear buds in paying no close attention to the customers. She did see me after about 30 seconds which isnt THAT bad. It was ok. Nothing special.
Rainy Day over winter break with eight 11-15 year old children to entertain. We had a great time bowling for a reasonable price. The snacks were cheap enough to order a bunch and the food was delicious. Enjoyed some darts and vending games too! Thank you Bowl a Roll?we will definitely be back! Highly recommend!
Bowling staff is great and their pitcher of black and tan for 9 dollars is good. Their food is definitely good portion sized. Only thing that caught me off guard was that their "mild" wings are more like country sweet. If you are a mild fan I would get their hot
I called ahead to find out when would be the best time on Saturday to come so that all 9 friends could bowl. I was told to come at noon, and I would have no problem getting 2 lanes (1 lane can accommodate at most 5 people). When I arrive at noon, the old man at the front desk was rude and aggressive. He unapologetically said there was only one lane available and that I could not be placed on a list to wait for another lane. Later, when I went to get shoe rentals for the 4 friends who could not bowl during
Bowl-A-Roll Lanes is a fantastic bowling alley! Prices are very reasonable, so it is a great place to bring the kids, and the atmosphere is fun, so it's also a great place to enjoy some adult time. There is a large, full bar so you can enjoy beer and cocktails. The menu is your usual fare, and I haven't had anything yet that wasn't delicious. The portions are huge! Staff is very friendly and it is spotless. I suggest to call ahead to make sure there are lanes. Even though it's huge here, leagues take up qui
People are nice. Drinks are good. Snack bar is okay prices are a little high but it's not bad food.
Had a great time and the food was fresh and hot when it came out!!!
The bowling was fun but,The pizza was trash. The crust was more flavorful than the pepperoni, and by flavorful, I mean it tasted like cardboard. It totally ruined the whole experience.
Great place to take your kids to bowl. We had a good experience with our Grandson.
Just finished my son's 7th birthday party! What an amazing experience! Planning the party with Bill was quick and easy. The value of what you receive compared to the per person price was outstanding! Nicole and Betty, our party hosts, we're so great with the kids and kept the whole party "rolling" along. I will recommend this venue to any parent looking to host a hassle free party for their kiddo of any age! Thanks again Bowl a Roll!!
Was told league's clear out at 8:15 but when we arrived had to wait until 9:30. No big deal, we went to the bar. Also disappointed with their automated shot counters. Again it is what it is. Figured we'll just go play darts while we wait. NOPE, whole dart room occupied by a bunch of poker players. Won't be back here again.
Was a dollar cheaper than the competition in town but wasnt worth that to have my son yelled at because the ball didn't roll to the end of the lane. The guy with the sun name was far from respectful or courteous. Completely rude, blunt. Will not be returning to that establishment.
I wanted a bowling retro experience and that's what we got! Added bonus was the food is surprisingly delicious! My vege burger was amazing. Pitcher prices are reasonable and service was great. Highly recommended for family fun.
Everyone is always so nice when we go in. Even if it's super busy they make sure the kids have fun :) this weekend we went with my son who has a broken arm but he begged and begged to go bowling. They helped him get his ball, set up the bumpers and brought over the ramp thing without me asking.he had a blast and his baby brother loves the experience. So much to look at,lots of new noises and he got to help push a ball on the ramp too. Food is pretty good when we get it and bar prices are decent
Great friendly service especially Joe, this guy makes an already fun experience even better! I highly recommend this place over any bowling alley establishment in Rochester. Whether you want to bowl or have a fun night out this is the place to be especially during cosmic bowling on Friday and Saturday nights. Plus they have great summer leagues. Perfect family environment!
We were here from out of town. The staff were super accommodating. Great atmosphere. Wish they would have had music. It was quiet for a bowling ally.
Birthday parties for the kids have never been disappointing. The staff has always been very nice. Not a big bowler myself, however my father is. Have never had a negative experience there ??
Staff is incredible. Bowling crew and also the snack bar crew. Lanes are always kept in great shape. The hamburgers are a must to try.
This bowling alley had a hostile atmosphere for the entire experience. The staff was unprofessional and impolite ruining the entire night. If you plan on going here I hope you have a good Uber experience because that will be the only enjoyable part of your night.
Just got back to bowling our fall/winter league. Great bartenders, decent snack bar staff. So far so good this year,
We spent $60.00 for a family of 5 to play two games and they shut down our lane and game when we still had 3 of us still had not finished the game. When we first arrived at 3:30 they told us we had to be out by 5, which we thought was reasonable enough. However, it was our son's first time bowling (he's 3) and it was taking us a while to get through our first game because we only had 1 lane. One of the workers literally came over to us and told us to "pick up the pace". Then the same worker came over and to
Friendly staff, clean environment, and brand-new scoring computers. Great for a family event. Call ahead of time to determine if they have open bowling, and make sure to grab one of the discount cards from a local business. Bob's Diner, just down the street, usually has some.
If I could give 0 stars I would. At noon told us it would be until 2:15, and at 2:15 we were told a few minutes for the leagues to finish up. 20 minutes later and multiple games started we were then told only 10 more minutes. Could NOT wait after that. Utterly ridiculous. Just tell us up front it would be half an hour.
I brought my family to try to bowl two separate occasions and called prior to coming. Both times, Staff said there was open bowl at a certain time and told us to get there at a certain time. When we did staff told us open bowl isn't available for another 3 hours. The hours the staff member said was 8:30, when we arrived before then he said 11PM. Employees seemed to not care and show no empathy especially in front of my children. Defiantly not a family friendly place. Don't recommend going here.
Great way to spend the afternoon with the family. Bowling and lunch
Had a great company team building event at Bowl-A-Roll Lanes. Staff was fantastic and bowling was excellent. Good ball selection and quality shoes included. Food was hot and was a perfect compliment. Would highly recommend this place for a fun time.
The place looks kind of old and is a bit small. If they do kids bowl free during the summers- just pay for shoe rentals. Prices are good. Haven't tried the food. Bowling is fun there. They have the cosmic bowling with music and lights at night.
We had a blast. Great environment to bring friends and family!!! We came across the GM he was super friendly and his staff was amazing!! I recommend.
Ever since they have upgraded the computers and other features, this has been a premier place for bowling in the Rochester area. The bar doesn't have a large selection, but the prices are great. The food they have is also great and reasonably priced. You can often find discount coupons around town.
Great place. Clean, awesome lanes, easy to use the lane set up device. Plus they got a room with dart boards. Definitely go there.
Took advantage of the Thursday bowl .50 cents/game with a $4 cover charge. Bowled 3 games for $5.50 a person! Tuesdays is $5 cover charge but .25 cents a game. Either day is viable for low price fun bowling on synthetic lanes. This price does not include shoes which are $3.50. I've had zero problems with the lanes and bowled tens if not hundreds of games here. Very functional and up to date alley with a center bar and a side concession/kitchen area. The lanes come with about 16 lanes on each side of the all
As a league bowler at Empire Lanes, I came here to practice today because I couldn't practice at Empire. This place is family owned and you can feel it. I wish I bowled here weekly. Empire is a disaster. Its a big money grab and just not league bowler friendly anymore. Good lane conditions, nice staff - they actually talk too. Will be back, maybe for a league.
Very updated and clean. No technical issues with the alley, which was nice. The bathroom could use some work, but not horrible.
We love this local bowling place. The rates are affordable, they have good food, a bar, and video games. They were great today and gave my son a 6lb ball from behind the counter. We will be back!
Clean and spacious. Friendly service. Short wait to get a lane. New scoring system with great graphics. And the good is good quality at a reasonable price.
Affordable place to be at, they have food, a bar, and a few games. Another then that it's the perfect place to have a good time bowling
My kids loved the cosmic bowling....I will take them again soon
I've been here many times and always had a blast. Unfortunately they have become very strict and put up new policies that don't make sense. My friends love coming here and I always accompany them, but due to an accident I broke my meniscus and I am unable to walk properly, let alone bowl. Last time I was there I was asked to leave twice because I was not bowling. This place became unaccesible to all people that are unable to bowl and it is a shame. People in wheelchairs, crutches or with any phisical disadv
Guy was really nice. Eat before you go because food not served since understaffed. Drinks arent bad priced. Very friendly serive. Worth going
A great locale for bowling. They have the Brunswick computer system for score keeping as well as speed detection (but no rev detector as far as I saw). You can link to the Brunswick app OpenLane for tracking your scores. Comfortable facility great for rolling solo, with friends, or in a league.
I'm on a league here and it's alright. Outside of league it's nothing great. Went in for "Cosmic Bowling" (midnight bowling) for a birthday once. There was no one else Cosmic Bowling and we were told we couldn't (even though it was advertised) because "there were not enough people in [our] group to be worth it." Seems like any number of people in our group would've been worth it considering the place was dead...
Must say what makes or breaks the experience is the people you encounter. Immediately greated by two miserable men who seemed to not want to help us at all. Myself and my fianc? took our nieces for a Sunday of fun. Throughout every interaction with the staff we incountered they were miserable and unpleasnant. Drinks were cheap and tasted that way, but we learned our lesson and will not return.
I disagree with the comments that are rating this alley in the "fair" category! Bowl a Roll is delightfully quirky, and I mean that in a good way. Unlike the slick and over-priced lanes in other parts of the city, this is a mom and pop kind of establishment. As a bowler there and as a league regular, I have come to know the staff and part of the charm for me is that they treat me like family. They can be gruff and yes, the running of the business can sometimes baffle me a little, but it is a place I love to
Bowled here as a teenager, still the same! Great lanes!
Me and my crew of 8-10 friends have been goin here for 3 years. Always had a great time and satisfactory service. Tonight, we go in there and my gf didnt feel well so she didnt want to play. The old white guy whos mostly behind the counter was there as usual (ginger hair and beard, heavy set old guy). He told us that she couldnt be there if we didnt rent a shoe for her. I didnt wanna ruin our night so i said its ok just give us another pair then. We went on to the lanes to see 7 different people around us w
Had fun with four kids let them bowl three games but I have to say it was so much cheaper when I was younger. I can understand the change of times and that meaning the price will never be the same. Great food and great people.
I have seen this place as a kid. My dad used to work at Wegmans GMDC so I would always see this place. The staff is great
Terrible customer service, 1-star is too generous. Manager/owner actually screamed and shouted at my wife, who is 5 feet tall in heels, because our kids accidentally dropped a bowling ball on two occasions. No excuse to ever lose your temper to that extent, especially in front of young children. After registering her complaint, she received a condescending non-apology in the form "we are sorry that you felt you received poor customer service" instead of simply apologizing.
They don't allow adults to have bumpers. In our case we needed bumpers because our friend truly needed them but they didn't care. Sad to see the establishment can't even cater to a very simple request.
I bowl in the Friday Night Men's League. Just this year I finally made my return after 8 long years however my Brother and my Father have been there for the better part of 15 years. I've bowled all the way across New York, and I got to say bowl-a-roll is where it's at! With the pro shop next door ( that I highly recommend to any bowler whether you're just getting started or experienced) just makes for one excellent experience every single Friday night! Keep up the good work! Hard-working staff and incredibl
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
