This was a great experience. The mini golf was actually rather hard. It was very enjoyable. There were fun little modifiers on the course with a spin the wheel sort of random thing. You will love it come visit this one.

If you are looking for a putt putt location in Cherry Grove Beach this is the one. Ice cold AC, great Ice Cream, candy and arcades too! We go stuck behind a group of 20 and they gave us a rain check to come back the next day. We went back and had a blast!!

Had a FANTASTIC experience at this mini golf place. Gentleman behind the counter very kind, helped me determine which size club would be better suited for me. Very clean place, LOTS of candy and gifts inside the store.

We went mid-day on a cloudy afternoon and it was perfect. After the putt putt game we enjoyed some candy and some fun in the arcade. Definitely a great afternoon of fun and highly recommend!

Great Experience with Putt-Putt and the Candy Store! Only downside was the wait time from each play. Many groups of 4+ even when the signs say less than 4

I like to thank Ms.Pressie and Leeon for the hospitality that they gave to me and my family on last night (Monday)When we walked in we got an warm welcome from Mr.Dan and his wife.He got us all set up for mini golf and I tell you what this was a challenge mini golf game. The kids really enjoyed themselves and the adults. We had to bring my nephew here because we didn't make it last year and plus he's going back to school in Africa on Monday. Mermaid Dream Ice Cream Shop is amazing you can get milkshakes, s

Great little mini golf course. Clean and well-maintained challenging course. Went on a Monday evening and not crowded at all. $12 per person and half off a 2nd round if you choose. BONUS: Super awesome candy shop and arcade attached. They have every candy imaginable. This little gem is a must if you're looking for a fun round of mini-golf with the family.

Nice putt putt course. Friendly owners and a very nice ice cream shop adjoining!! Pic of banana split is from a previous visit.

We give Black Pearl Mini Golf 5 Stars and here's why. We've driven by Black Pearl Mini Golf probably a thousand times because we really like the area. We would say "we gotta try them when the family comes around". Well we finally had our son and granddaughter join us for an afternoon of mini golf. Upon entering the main candy shop/arcade to get clubs, Dan greeted us and explained the layout. Pretty simple and straightforward. By the way, the whole place is spotless, I mean REALLY CLEAN. Started our game an

Great golf course. We have been vacationing in Myrtle Beach for years but had never been to Cherry Grove nor knew the Black Pearl was there. It's definitely a place to visit. Putt putt golf, candy shop, arcade, and hand dipped ice cream. We will definitely come back again next vacation.

Great mini golf. Challenging and fun. We played at night and it was very well lit. Keep an eye out for the tiny alligator in the water. lol. And don't forget to get an ice cream after a round of 18 holes.

What a great experience!! We have been to many mini golf's in the area, this is by far our favorite!! Thank you Black Pearl Mini golf for making my boys feel special!! Highly recommend!!

One of the best places to go for mini golf while in any part of Myrtle Beach. While it is tucked away way up in Cherry Grove, it is worth the drive. Great course layout with many hole in one opportunities, kids love the entire course, and maybe one of the best finishing holes (I may be a little biased since I got a hole in one here) on the Strand! Then head inside for some one of a kind ice cream, buy something from the candy store, and rack up some high scores in the arcade. My kids make this is a must do

Has 1 18-hole mini-golf course, an ice cream shop, a candy shop, and an arcade! Most of the holes are pretty unique and have lots of twists, turns, and verticality.

We discovered this place our first night in town and came back everyday of our stay. Mini golf, ice cream, candy store and an arcade- what more could you want?! The place is so clean, updated, reasonably priced and FUN. You could tell it's family owned and everyone was so nice! We came back for my twins birthday and they got a free golf ball and ice cream. The mini golf was a fun course with lots of picture opportunities and seating throughout the course. The arcade was just enough for us and my kids were e

Had a blast with family. Great 18 mini golf course. Wonderful staff. Sweet icecream. Got the best shot of a whole in one from the only video recording I took. Priceless. Let me know if I can post it or send it to you @Black Pearl. Thank you for a great time. We will be back!

I couldn't get my kids to leave this place. They had a blast on the games and there were candies that we've never seen. This is an awesome family-owned business and Dan makes you feel like family. We come everyday when we're here on vacation.

Was a fun experience with siblings could have been more challenging but very good for pre teen and young teen crowd.

Great time with family staff was super kind and course is top notch kids loved all the pirate stuff will for sure go back

Oh the fun we had playing mini golf here! This one has been around for years because we took our first child here when he was 5 or 6. But it has changed hands and underwent several renovations. It's located in Cherry Grove, NC, and connected to a candy store, arcade and an ice cream parlor. What more do you need at the beach! Great for the family, couples, friends, etc. The staff was extremely helpful with choosing the right sized putters for all of us. We will go back.

Great family fun with nice store. One of the staff gave a bottle of water to an older lady who got to hot. Thumbs up to them. Would definitely play again.

Course is well maintained, reasonable, price, and challenging enough for adults and kids alike! Highly recommend! Very walkable from some of the resorts, like the Towers on the Grove.

Great place for the family. The mini golf is easy enough for the kids to have fun and get it in the holes. Just hard enough to keep the grownups on their toes.

My family and I came here for a break from the beach. It was huge! The pirate theme was fun, and the kids loved that there was a course inside the ship. There was also a candy shop and an arcade inside their building. The games were limited, but my kids loved the bowling game and the little claw machines.

Nice course but it was being worked on so the waterfall was off. The work they have already done looks great though and by spring or summer it should be ready to go!!

The best mini golf experience! Ice cream and arcade games are right next door. A perfect family evening!

I had an overall great time. There's some good shots, I even got a hole in one on 15! I don't have another reference to other places. Some of the green was tore up, or replaced unevenly in spots. But this isn't the PGA tour. It's for fun. And that's what we had. Overall I would recommend, my only regret is I didn't go at night. I bet it's really nice looking

A fun way to spend some time, very friendly service and some challenging holes. I enjoyed the one on the ship and the one under the falls!

I'd like to start by saying my wife and I are locals. We often like to play a round of mini golf for date night. This mini golf course definitely needs attention. We are in the middle of summer and they must have not been upkeeping the course. Many lights were out making the holes dark and not very fun to play. The actual holes were very shallow making the balls pop out, even if you didn't hit them too hard. If you are looking for the best course in Myrtle/North Myrtle... this is certainly NOT it.

I've been coming here since I was a kid (40 years now) and can't remember it being any nicer than it was today. Whoever bought and upgraded this place...THANK YOU. It brought back so many memories and I'm so grateful to be able to share this little gem with my 2 year old daughter this morning.

All in all it's a fun miniature golf course, with a game room, and an ice cream shop. I would have rated 5 stars but the golf course needs some repair.

Very fun mini golf course, awesome candy shop and the ice cream is fantastic! The employees were very nice and helpful

Great family fun!!! Loved the 11th hole on the ship!!! A couple hole in one's and a ton of memories!

Great time the family had a blast the workers were very nice

Nice skill-based course with the occasional luck hole. Expensive, but priced at area norms. Well maintained with a candy shop, ice cream place and arcade on premises. Employee wore mask.

They actually close at 9pm. They will turn off all the lights and music before 9pm to make sure you leave.

This was the best find of our trip. Mini golf was a fun course, the arcade was so much fun, and the ice cream was fantastic. We made multiple trips with our family here. The staff were all so friendly and kind, we will be back next time we visit the area

Great place for miniature golf and ice cream. The family had fun.

Played this mini golf course today. Very cute and well kept property. Great place for family fun within walking distance from Ocean Boulevard up Highway 9 with sidewalks all the way. Mini gulf, arcade, candy shop and ice cream. What more could you ask for!

On April 8th, 2023 we went into the Black Pearl Mini Golf while we were staying nearby while on holidays. My son, who has Autism, is a huge Spongebob fan and immediately spotted a Spongebob stuffie when we arrived. After playing the games, we were just going to donate his tickets as he didn't have enough tickets to get the Spongebob stuffie. I was absolutely shocked when Dan brought over the Spongebob stuffie to my son and said "here, you can give Spongebob a good home"! My son was absolutely thrilled a

The golf course is fun and very unique. The candy shop has a nice selection. The ice cream shop is nice. The arcade has nice modern games. The only two complaints I have are 1. The parking. There is literally not enough parking at for how busy this place gets. You're better off at finding an Uber here and back. 2. There's at least a 10 minute wait per hole. They don't even warn you of the potential wait before you purchase. They won't even refund you. They'll only rain check but that doesn't work if you're

Simple but challenging holes on the castle course (1 of 2 courses). Has a cheesy but simple and cool water and fire show every 30 minutes. Great prices and an arcade AND ice cream!

Clean and family friendly mini golf course, candy shop and arcade all wrapped into one.

Clean, well maintained. Nice course for all ages. Arcade, candy store and ice cream. It's a one stop shop for your evening of fun.

Great fun with the 3 kids, ages 11, 10, and 10. Plus 2 adults. Adults $12. 18 holes and definitely a fun pirate themed place! Excellent customer service!

Wonderful staff went out of their way to make it an extra special day! The facilities and course are very clean and kept up to date. We will definitely be remembering this spot in the future!

It was crowded, but we had a great time!

Employees were nice and helpful, ice cream was great. Most of the games in the arcade do not work. One employee (maybe he is the owner) was a little rude. Didn't play putt putt but seems to be a cluster fudge on the course

I love Black Pearl Mini Golf. It has a great course that I have played many times and it doesn't get old. There are nice benches to sit on all around and the holes are clean of debris. There is also a great ice cream shop, gift/candy shop, and a small arcade. It can get quite crowded in the summer, but it is overall a fun place to go.

My grandson and I love this place. We play mini golf and use the arcade. We especially love the air hockey table. There are quite a few games out of order which they need to fix for a full experience.

One of my favorite mini golf places Black Pearl mini golf in Cherry Grove! It's February and Valentine?s Day, we wanted to find an open mini golf for our day and even though this owner is doing construction on the candy shop and the arcade, the mini golf is still open and just freshly painted and refurbished. The owner is so friendly and this place is challenging but super fun! This is by far one of my top 3 favorite mini golf places around

Awesome arcade and fun mini gold with a pirate theme.

Always fun--we've gone for years and you can't beat the location. It's a fun, well kept course as well. We'll continue the tradition of going every trip!

We had some good ole summer fun before school starts :)

Ice cream was great! Arcade was fun but the claw machines won't grab anything. Most of the prizes are dollar tree items but that's how it usually goes right?!.... we didn't play golf. Overall experience was a 4 out of 5. Kids had fun and we will go back again ... maybe next time play some miniature golf.

My experience there was TERRIBLE. they are extremely racist and when I came in the managers AND workers were giving me disgusting looks and weird faces. none of them would say one word to me and would whisper random things when I would walk by. do NOT recommend, terrible service. the manager acts like she is in middle school.

Wonderful mini golf with very friendly people. Black Pearl needs to fix some of their cups to earn 5 stars

Exceptional customer service!!!! Perfect setup for family fun or like us hubby and wife fun day. We played the arcade games, bought the old school candies, trekked over to their connected ice cream shop to get hot fudge sundaes? we where offered additional options based on the type ice cream we chose. By the way, if you're a butter pecan lover, you won't go wrong with praline pecan as a substitute. The mini golf is next but I am sure it'll be fun too but for now just know, this place is worth the visit!!!

It was fun to putt putt here. They had creative ways to make it difficult even having one hole on the ship. They do have spots of shade for hot days. They also have the indoor arcade area and big candy selection area. Across the walkway is the ice cream parlor and there is some good ice cream there. Overall it was a pretty good experience.

I loved this place when I was a kid! But the new owners have taken the whole thing to ANOTHER LEVEL OF AWESOME!!!! The mini-golf course itself is brand new! The candy shop is incredible! The arcade which is my personal favorite had all brand new games! Our family spent hours and hours all week! Loved every second of it!

The guy that was working was rude. Made several smart mouth comments. After we'd spent $100 on putt putt and arcade games, he told my 6 year old son he has 30 seconds to pick all his prizes or he will pick them for him. Obviously Not very grateful to customers that come in and spend their hard earned money. Won't be back.

This was a great 18 hole course, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Such a fun place to play putt putt! Victory ice cream afterwards is a must.

They have putt- putt, a candy store ND an ice cream place. Lots to choice from in one entertainment place. Located diagonal from Cecila road and by the marsh.

Crear place for the family. The arcade was a hit too!! And ice cream even better

Black Pearl Mini Golf is very clean and the entire staff is very friendly. We played mini golf at four different courses and it was the cheapest round. The course greens are in great shape. We will be back.

Fun for everyone, and the ice cream is the best around

Exceptional!! We go to North Myrtle Beach every year to visit in March. We have always wanted to play this course, but it was always closed in March. We were so excited that the course was open on the weekends in March this year! The course is under new ownership. The two gentleman at the counter were so kind and nice!! We enjoyed talking to them and learning about the plans for a full arcade and ice cream shop! This course is beautiful! The course is immaculately maintained! We enjoyed the water features v

Great family fun. Baffling that some kind of mosquitos repellent isn't added within the perimeter of the play area outside. Bring bug repellent.

Had a great time and a fun and challenging course - it is not overwhelming for younger kids (our youngest player was 4) yet even the adults were no where close to averaging two strokes or breaking par (assuming par is 2 on every hole). Everything was very clean, especially in the food service areas. It was reasonably priced, though there were a few holes where the turf needed to be replaced. It is a shame as everything else about the place was very nice and at $10.00 per round, I do not want to see concr

Fun place for kids and ice cream

We had an amazing time here. Our kids love this place. Shannon was an awesome host and the ice cream is unbelievably good. The arcade is tons of fun and they have cool treats, goodies, and toys. I highly recommend going here!

Very clean very maintained older mini golf

Took the family last night, and we had an absolute blast, playing putt and in arcade!

I have been coming to Myrtle for years and this is by far the best mini golf place!!!

This place is clean, seemed to be well maintained, and had ample amenities to keep everyone happy. They've got a game room, ice cream, candy, mini golf, picnic areas. Plenty of everything for everyone. We played the full course today and had a great time of it. It was a little warm and there isn't always a lot of shade but depending on where you stand you can catch a splash from one of the fountains as a mist shower when the wind blows.

The atmosphere is great for young kids with all the animals & the big boat, plus a candy store/arcade & ice cream shop all right there. The golf holes are super easy/kinda boring though, which, if you have a little one like us & want to breeze through the course, works out great! But if you're looking for a bit of a challenge, this isn't the place.

Super fun! The management has really done a fantastic job of keeping everything clean which we really appreciated! And the candy and ice cream shop attached makes for a fun resting place after the game. Shannon is super sweet. This will be a regular spot for us when in town.

Been going here 20 years for the arcade. Went there this year and arcade has been down sized to a third it's original size for a candy shop / arcade. The employees were helpful and nice to the kids when they redeemed their points. All good games are gone and we do not plan on going back.

One of the nicer mini golf courses around, reasonably priced and with the arcade, candy shop, and ice cream shop...it's a great location!! Will definitely go back!

To be honest, we only played 3 holes. It was so packed with people, fun would've been impossible. The price was good. Nice and clean. They also have a candy store which every child loves

We visited here over the weekend as our final stop before we left town. The staff was friendly, their candy selection was great, and the place was very clean. As we were leaving, they offered to take our family picture on their boat. Thank you for a wonderful way to end our trip!

Great small arcade & mini golf, perfect choice for very young children. Not overly difficult & the arcade has several games geared towards young children. The games also dispense tickets which is more exciting for young kids than the cards. We purchased an all day mini golf, played in the morning then stopped back to play in the evening- $24 total for 2 adults & a 3 year old. Very friendly staff!

Cute course, well maintained, and good accessibility.

This place has the best ice cream and the putt putt is so nice and clean facility. The are very friendly also and we loved that they stay open until 11 pm

We stop by every year and either play mini golf, play arcade games or just enjoy some ice cream! The kids love it, the adults love it, and it's a great place to spend a few hours and unwind without having to get out on 17. I definitely recommend it if you are in North Myrtle or Cherry Grove. The place is always clean and employees are always nice and welcoming.

My daughter loves it!!!! Games were a blast!!!! She loved the candy selection. Just a big hit!!!!!! She couldn't wait to wear her tie dye t-shirt to school that said Lolly Pop Candy Shop. ?? She even wore her lollypop earrings to match.

Recommended. Family and kid friendly. Huge range of candy, ice cream nearby and arcade games. Kids enjoyed themselves here. Staff respectful and friendly. Also prices not terrible Definitely recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
