My youngest son loved this place. He is so fascinated about retro games and arcades so he was in heaven..lol. I do feel like it was a little small but if you get there a little early you can enjoy more games without too many people around.

My family and I have been coming here for a few years now and have always had great service. My son always looks forward to coming here and enjoys the games. The food is ALWAYS good, the combo meals they have are affordable and they have great happy hour pricing. Also want to give a shout out to our server Joshua we had, my sister has specific food/OCD preferences and he went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and accommodated perfectly. Glad to live so close to this place!!

I've gone here a couple of times before to attend the Trivia Nights they have on Wednesdays. Those are very fun and I always have a great time; the staff are friendly and helpful. The wings have lots of meat on them and taste great, the pizza is pretty good. My only real complaint is the frozen drinks. The frozen margaritas (such as the mango, strawberry, blue Hawaiian freeze) all taste like a regular margarita. The syrup they put in the freezes to make it taste like something doesn't taste like anything an

Great food. The pizza, and the wings w/fries were all great! The mortal combat themed drinks were a nice touch. The only reason I'm giving it 4 out of 5, I was disappointed that there were a bunch of games that were not working properly. Either broken joysticks or buttons. We still made a great day out of it. Just bummed about some of the ones I wanted to play were not working right. Overall, great staff and a great place.

The games are great. $10 unlimited play and tons of arcade games. They even have nintendos, swag, Xbox, and PlayStation systems set up. Great time. Don't eat here though. It's the most average food I've had in a while. Also, they were out of half of the beers. It took 4 tries to get one.

We LOVE coming here as a Family! Our kids love it, the pizza and wings are delicious, the service is always great. Can't beat $10 all You can play arcade games & good food!

Improv comedy club. GREAT food, at great prices. $10 admission to play as many games as you want! All for free! Actual arcade games. Not just Guitar Hero, Racing Games, and Claw Machines and Let's Go Jungle (the game where you shoot bugs)?but actual arcade games like Final Fight, Street Fighter, House of the Dead, Crazy Taxi, Arch Rivals, X-Men, Marvel vs. Capcom, NEO-GEO, etc. (plus they have consoles: Genesis, SNES, Xbox1, PS5, etc). Look, if you want an arcade spot, a place to take your kids for an e

I went for the 1st time today during lunch with a coworker. We were immediately greeted by a friendly young man at the host stand. We didn't play any games but we had fun looking at all the old games which made us feel nostalgic. We ordered the chips and queso with chili which was actually pretty good. My coworker and I both ordered small pizzas. I ordered these super meaty brothers and she built her own pizza with chicken, bacon and mushrooms. It was all very good. Recommend this place.

We went to the bar just to have drinks and ended up sitting there for over 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. The staff seemed entirely focused on serving drinks for the Improv crowd, so we decided to leave and take my business elsewhere.

Great place for pizza and wings. Wings were a little over fried. The games were great throw back games . Overall a good concept

I was looking for an old school throw back arcade/piazza joint. Black Dog fit the bill. My exceptions for the quality of the pizza was low. in this day and age where everything is miserable cause everyone is offended by everything i just wanted to go for the vibe and throw back to my childhood when i spent tons of time at arcades. when people looked for reasons to help each other and be happy instead of an excuse to be miserable and tear each other down. I took a bit of the pizza and was blown away. the pi

Pizza was good not great. Looks like a change ownership or management. Went a year ago and the place was always full and food very memorable. Today not so much. It was empty with no atmosphere. Young inexperienced wait staff. We had to remind them over an hour+ later to bring the check. Nice table game selection - a definite plus. Wings didn't look fresh. Good location. Reasonable price.

Really cool place! The only negative thing I have to say is that the menu online lids in cursive, but they have physical menus as well. Other than that the game selection is superb and the space is clean! Loved every minute hear :)

This is a review for the arcade part, compared to other local arcades, this is small. For the price, not really worth coming. The games that are functioning, about 40% of them have some flaws that make the cabinets either unplayable or hard to play. The DDR cabinet is off balance. Guitar Hero cabinet has a guitar with a stuck fret and you cannot strum upwards. One of the controllers on the Genesis Hyperkin has a stuck button, keeps thinking you want to turn off the console. Time Crisis needs calibrating. Th

This place is awesome! Great prices, great food, and great drinks! I've taken my kids during the day for the arcade and went at night with friends for an Office Trivia night --- so fun! And I was shocked how cheap my yummy happy hour margaritas were (peach and strawberry)! And our server, Manny, was probably one of the sweetest servers I have ever had anywhere - served with a smile the whole night! :)

Black Dog Arcade is a VERY cool place to go to with family and friends. They have EVERYTHING from 1980?s to current. From Ninetindo to XBOX. Donkey Kong to Madden 23. There's a closed in patio setting for parties & kids gathering. If EVER in the Arlington area, check them out! They're connected to the Improv comedy theatre in the Highlands. My Hubby & I WILL DEFINITELY be back, cause it's $10 ALL day play! They also have food & a FULL bar.

Truly love this place, highly recommend it people are friendly and it's usually very chill and the games are old school I love going in and playing donkey kong

Stopped in after work, I'm from out of town. This place is freaking amazing! I wish we had one of these in Ohio! Not enough stars!

Good pizza, nostalgic video games along with new. Mortal Kombat character themed mixed drinks, plenty of beer choices to choose from what more is there to like.

$10 for unlimited gaming! A friendly staff and good pizza and wings! A wide variety of arcade games including a few N64s! I saw a extensive collection of board games if you're into that!

Great pizza, perfectly cooked. Absolutely the best pizza and house salad, A+ on the ranch dressing. Will definitely go there again. We order take out and love it, you won't be sorry!

The food is fantastic!!! The service was amazing! The classic games were a delight ??

Absolutely love this place been here numerous times, very cool arcade if you get there at a certain time, I've never been on the weekends, I always go during the weekdays but it is tied into a comedy club, I can only imagine how busy it would be during that time.

We had our sons 9th bday party here and it was stellar. The kids loved the games and pizza. Adults enjoyed the bar while the kids played and had fun. This is a hidden gem 1000000%

We used to love coming here. We went on Monday the 14th with a party of 8. The lady and young man working were horrible. We never saw them. The only reason we received refills was that we took our drinks physically to them while they were sitting at the bar eating. I asked for a dirty martini, but ?no one? knew how to make it. I had to go to the bar and show her. We were there almost two hours and serviced ourselves for the most part. We weren't happy when we saw that gratuitity was already added to our bil

What are you waiting for?? You better head to Black Dog Retro now!!!! This place has a nice ambiance & with delicious meals. The servers are nice and overall this deserves to have more stars. I'm definitely coming back again.

I come for the fried pickles and wings, I stay for the cowboy bites! Those lemon pepper and mango habanero wings are chefs kiss???? paired with that made-in-house ranch? Delicious. Go ahead and get you some. You're welcome??

Covid-19 friendly environment and great service! The food was muy bueno and the open mic was packed with funny comics ! Definitely going to return after great service from server Ty'randa and speaking with Mr. Ted in management. Top tier!!

Firstly, staff was nice. No complaints there. Food was... well, my food (appetizers) was mediocre, but my friend said the wings were great. Price for food wasn't bad at all. Now, games... considering that Arlington has other arcades and that D&B is 2 minutes away, you'd think that this place would have working games. The guitars for guitar hero were inverted and one didn't work correctly at all. They had one of the racing games that had such a blurry display, I could see better without my glasses. Their D

This is a great place to take the kids before 9. After 9, it's a fun, cool place to hang out with grown ups. The games are always in good working order, the variety of beers is decent and they have specialty drinks if beer is not your thing.

Food was good and drinks. The only complaint I had was for the price of wings they were way TOO SMALL

Great pizza and fun retro games! Really enjoyed getting to play some of the games from "back in the day." Staff was very nice!

They claim their greek salad has kalamata olives, but when it came out it had regular black olives. Salad was not great. Service was not great.

Great place to bring the family. Decent variety of games. $10 to play all day. The food is ok and they do have a bar.

Came out for a fellas night out. Had some Pizza, wings and beer. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the nostalgia of player some arcade.

I ordered to go order. The pizza was not that good, they need to improve it. The pasta was delicious.

I moved to Arlington and I am trying to find a social group? I figured an arcade would be a good place to start? And I'm extremely pleased with what I found. my concern is the machines are not maintained? There is a level of laziness that I sense as I move around to different games? Guitar hero is an incredibly fun game but the guitars do not work? Buttons need to be replaced and lights need to be fixed? there's also the cruising USA game which is still frankly surprisingly working very well and is one of

Cheesy, delicious, pizza. Retro video games include Galaga and Ms. Pac man... my personal favs! $10 all you can play. Wings are delicious.

Good pizza, and a fun arcade atmosphere.

Came here with my 13 year old son when we were in town for a soccer tournament. Great place to spend a few hours! We had pizza and then for $10 each played unlimited games. Nice variety of retro arcade games, literally every one worked (I didn't expect that). Nice bar, friendly people. We came on a Saturday evening and it wasn't too crowded. If we make it back to Arlington, we'll visit again for sure!

Decided to stop in for lunch and the doors were still locked during normal business hours. When they did finally open the door (the manager) spoke to two servers that were actively playing on the video games laughing that they ?forgot? to unlock the doors and seemed annoyed that I interrupted them playing games. The manager the. Proceeded to ask me to seat myself while the servers were playing games. I left as I didn't want to interrupt what was clearly more important to them.

Stumbled upon this Gem tonight! Absolutely the best experience. Hands down the best service from our server Jesus. The manager was great as he took the time to come greet us. Food definitely exceeded our expectations. Prices were great and must I add the games. $10 ea person and you can play as much as you want. I look forward to making this a must every time I come to visit. Thank you for this great experience.

Pricing was fair and reasonable. Had a decent size party of people show up for a birthday celebration and just hang out, play games and drink. The waiters were amazing. It did seem that once improv opened, it was taking longer to get drinks and food, so I'm guessing they share a bar and kitchen, but not real complaint as everything was still very timely. 10/10 would recommend. 10/10 will return again.

Happy hour has wells and margs for $3.50 the pizza is 10/10 it has a cheese pull better than the movies and the wings come served with hot fresh fries. The small pizza can really serve 2-3 also the arcade games are unlimited with a $10 wrist band purchase.

First visit.. late night date run with my Mr? from the greeting down to our departure everything was great!! My servers Dominique and Alex were simply the sweetest! We ordered the #3 combo for two (pizza wings & fries) and let's just say my Mr. Is 6?4 with a huge appetite and we were not only full but left with a to go box!! Definitely will be returning with the kiddos next time! ??

Arcade was $10 per person for unlimited play. Which seemed steep considering it was much smaller than it appeared online. Wasn't really impressed. The dining area was super dated and felt like a kids birthday party from the 90s. Bar was decent. Food was....eh. I guess we had an okay time for a quick stop but would not visit again.

Phenomenal experience! The atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming and who doesn't love to play some arcade games while enjoying some drinks and delicious pizza! I'm not from the area but it's definitely a place I'll have to come back and visit!

I went in with a friend of mine for the first time and had the absolute pleasure of being served by a lovely young lady. Her name was Melanie and she really brought the experience together by recommending me the Meaty Bros Pizza. It was SO good. Not only was the food good, but every time my glass was nearing empty, it would be filled by my server without having to say or do anything. That's what makes a good experience. She knew exactly what to say and always had a smile on her face. Your establishment real

Hidden gym with $10 all you can play vintage arcade games & drink specials less than $5. Decent bar food. Staff could be a bit more attentive but tbh, it would usually be a nonfactor for the drink& play vibe.

Never been here. Glad we stopped. My husband got the pizza. He really liked. I got the wings. So delicious. The sauce was awesome. Yummy. Alan was so great!! So nice and patient. Oh, and so random but the restrooms very clean and smelled nice.

Not enough games and some of the ones they did have were broken. Seemed like more of a hangout for kids while their parents went to the Improv next door. The bartenders were nice and the drinks were affordable.

Had a blast here! The retro arcade games brought back so many memories and the price to play unlimited games was so reasonable. We had two adults and 4 kids, ranging in age from 4 to 15, and everyone had a great afternoon here! The manager (Ted) was super attentive and provided excellent customer service. Highly recommend for a fun activity and we will definitely be back!

Great service and great games! Only 10$ for all day games, and you can leave and come back whenever without paying extra?! Huge variety of retro games, plus some more modern ones! Server was really nice and even suggested a mixture of two drinks that was of her own design! I'm surprised this place doesn't have more of an audience! 10/10, super glad this place is this close by!

Checked this place out last night to celebrate my birthday and had a blast. The food, drinks and games were awesome. We will definitely be back! Thank you for the great service.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Great prices for great food!! I swear some of the best wings I've had. Jesus provided the best service! He was friendly, informative, and so easy to talk to!! Manager also greeted our table & overall I couldn't have had a better experience!

Staff was friendly and even when they were busy they were never rude. Bartender even advised on happy hour policy so as to get our drinks at the best price. Had a smaller selection but all of the cabinets were unique and fun. Awesome time worth price of admission.

Pizza was phenomenal. I had the pacman pizza and the wait staff was great. Played on the NES and SNES for a couple hours afterwards. All in all a great time and way to take your mind off the troubles of the world! Need to make some friends in my new city cause I bet the arcade would be more fun with friends!

Me and my boyfriend went to try this place and that was the worst mistake of my life I ordered the wings and I got lemon pepper and buffalo I got 10 wings. I ate about 4of those wings and immediately started to feel nauseous so we ended up leaving. I spent the rest of my night nauseous then once I finally got up at around 5 AM this morning I could not control my bowels and I was throwing up everywhere. Don't recommend.

The food was respectable. The service was good. The game selection could be better and the controllers on a lot of the games are warn out

I went to Black Dog Pizza quite often back then but I haven't been back for about a year. I'm gonna be brutally honest because that's what you want in a review. This place was mediocre. The service, the food, the venue. It was decent. That was the past, let's move on and forget. The present: WOW. That one word sums it up since 2018 started. The comeback is real. Everything about this place has changed. The vibe, the service, and even the food! Pizza, wings, pasta; they still have the OG menu but they've do

Wish I could leave a negative star. Very unwelcoming. My husband and I sat waiting on someone to take our order. It was not busy in there. There were two other tables with people. The young lady that was working just sat there never came to our table.

1st things first: I'm A Serious Pizza Lover!!!! So today leaving the Paul Mitchell School of Hair I decide to try The pizza place a few doors down- Black Dog Pizza in The Highlands in Arlington, Tx. Mind you, this is my first time trying it, and I am not at all impressed or happy. Don't get me wrong it was clean in there but.... I ordered buffalo wings, & a thin crust supreme pizza add chicken. Well they brought my wings out first and when I bit into them they were ice cold! So they remade the wings, they w

Been here multiple times. And it's always great. Brought my friends and family and they agreed with me. Great place to hang out and enjoy great pizza and entertainment. Highly recommend for fiends and family

Was my favorite pizza place in highschool and I finally got to visit again with my husband, while it's changed a lot it was just as great as I remember and my husband agreed with me that it was the best you could want from a pizza! Also love the change to using the back area as an arcade. Its definitely improved over the years in my opinion, I just miss the parmesan shakers ??

This place is so good and so much fun to hangout after work, but the manger Ebony is very disrespectful and rude. I would Give this place 0 stars just for the way she acted towards me and my friends. We were looking at the menu on our phones and she had an attitude the whole time. And started talking about my friends and how they looked. And started raising her tone with us because we were not looking at her.

I can not imagine going back here. 1.) Cheese sticks were bland. 2.) The pizza was tasteless if not for the salt. 3.) I was super jazzed they had RC cola on the fountain. 4.) The wings were very middling. They were ok. Bit bad not good. 5.) All of that food plus 4 sodas was 66 bucks pre tip. So over priced for what we got. 6.)4 people to be free to game it cost us 40 bucks. 7.)The staff was a fairly even mix of bored as hell and friendly.

The food was hot and fresh. I absolutely love their spinach Alfredo pizza. I'm glad they added the retro arcade #pacmanismyfavorite and the waitress Jasmine was so polite, prompt and had a beautiful smile! I'll definitely be back

This place sux. Don't waist your time. Food took too long to come out. They brought out half the order and 10mins. went buy before we had to ask them about the rest of out order. They said that they had to remake our pizzas because they burnt the first two. They weren't even going to tell us about burning our food. We had to ask, and wait isn't this a pizza place. You'd think they would know how to make it. The service was poor at best. We couldn't even get a refill unless we asked. The food that did come

Awesome pizza, I wish I would've taken a picture of it because the cheese is just like the stringy cheese you see on television! If you buy a combo you get a wristband that allows you to play in their little arcade, or if you just want to play you can just purchase the wristband. And our waitress Kitty was so sweet! Definitely recommend going there. (Oh also, make sure to get the fried pickles!)

Great greatttt place!!! 1st time there last night Food was soo good I had the lemon pepper wings my daugther had the toasted raviolis which was amazing and my huaband had a 16inch meat lovers pizza and my cousin had the garlic parmesean wing. Overall the staff was so nice it was clean friendly and the food was really good. We will def be returning here also the food was served fast n hot and the manager gave us our military discount which was 50% of our bill! We left super full and happy! Great job keep it

Oh my! You all HAVE to try this place. Its smaller than many but if you want good drinks, food and games, this place is an excellent choice. Their Flatbread pizzas are AMAZING. Great staff and old school, fun games. ??

We came for their $10 all-day play in their arcade - we did not try the food. Parking was easy to find right up front, and we were greeted and given wristbands. Strangely enough, the wristbands said Sunday when we were playing on a Monday. My husband was already pretty familiar with most of the arcade games, but my favorites were Astroid and Crazy Taxi. There are lots of collaboration games, probably more than single-player games, which is great. Yes, the games are pretty grimy and germy, but we washed our

Went yesterday at about 5ish to try their pizza and place. The place looks more like a bar than a family restaurant. The waitress we had was awesome! The sweet tea wasn't sweet so we commented but then she said it would take a while for her to make a fresh batch of sweet tea so we opted for something else. I ordered a salad, sampler and my kids ordered the 10inch pizzas. My salad was covered in too much onion so I take it off to find rotten and slimy cucumbers and tomatoes under that so I asked her to take

Awesome pizza and very friendly staff! Had feli and melanie as our waitresses and they were extremely helpful and friendly. I mainly came for the games, but was surprised by how much I enjoyed the pizza. Really would recommend if your looking for a fun place to hang out with friends.

Great place to bring your family. The food was delicious. The service was fantastic as well. Also have live comedy acts, arcade games. Overall Great Atmosphere!!! We will be back soon.

This place absolutely sucks. From the drinks to the fee to play games that don't all work or are from consoles I can get on Amazon and put a USB of games on myself. Definitely not ever coming again. Ppl are awkward and a group of kids came in to take tik toks in the arcade without paying and asked us what we were doing in the background. As if WE were in the way. Place is small and I hated every minute here.

Went to Black Dog Pizza Arcade for the first time and was served by the waitress Feli, she was incredibly helpful by giving her meal suggestions. Feli and another waitress Melanie kept checking in on us regularly to see how we liked things which was nice. The pizza was delicious, would definitely come back again

Love this place! The employees are all very sweet! Pizza was great! But omg the games!! It was a time warp!! Good place to bring the family or kids when you're out of ideas!!

The pizza is good. The video games need a serious over haul. The pac man joystick is so stiff it's very hard and very hard to control. I gave up on in instantly. The Ms. Pac Man needs to be set on easy as its very very difficult as well to play. The ghosts don't even stay blue long enough in the very beginning. The joystick on Frogger needs to be replaced. It doesn't play right. The asteroids game needs to be set on easy as well. The Q Bert is set on a medium setting. Some games I played I had to get someon

Our group has been on a work trip from Washington and in these first few days this spot has had THE BEST service we have recieved thus far. Our server Daniel has been efficient and friendly. Would definitely visit again just for the hospitality.

Didn't try the food but this place isn't big enough to be called an arcade lol nice family place though

My first time there. So much fun. I went with my mom, brother and nephew and we had a blast!! The pizza and wings were also pretty tasty. We will definitely be back!!

So the wings were burnt to a crisp and had bugs (gnats) in them and in the to go container that was brought out to us. We asked the waitress to take the wings off and the manager (Ted C) told her no, because they were apart of a special and all he could do for us was give us passes to the arcade. We have never played in the arcade and we don't desire to do so. Finally he took the wings off after trying to convince us that either we didn't like the wings and that the to go container was the only thing that h

Food was definitely generic frozen food. Probably wouldn't go there to eat again, good selection of drinks tho. Service was really really good. Waitress was so kind. Small selection of arcade games, but the ones they have are good enough.

Black Dog is connected to a comedy club; It's more of a sports bar than a restaurant. With that said, cool environment, friendly people, but bad pizza. Imagine tomato sauce straight out of a can that isn't even some mass produced pizza sauce, but the base tomato paste. The crust is cheap grocery store quality (thin, crispy and tough to swallow). Cheese was ok and plentiful, but it didn't cover up the taste. The children at the other table wouldn't eat their personal pizzas just to give you an idea.

Mediocre food. Mediocre service. Food was fresh but lacking in flavor. Was initially told they were out of Angel hair pasta but after our waitress (never told her name) checked, they had "just gotten some in". Speaking of the nameless waitress, she never even smiled, we had to wait for at 15 minutes to get our tea refilled, one of our entrees came out incorrectly and it seemed as if we were an inconvenience to her. Best part was the friendly maitre d and Good fresh sweet tea. Yup that pretty Much covers i

This restaurant had horrible service. Took us way too long to get our appetizers. They didnt bring all 3 at the same time. We had to ask 2 times for one of them. Half the calamari was burned. We jad to ask for ice for our teas. The waiter took my husbands cup and didnt bring it back. We had to ask a different waitress for another one. We will definitely never eat here again.

brought me and my peeps here, just hitting the quad. Probably gonna hit up some Cherokee chicks l8ter. Pizza is slap right down the core. Definitely take your peeps, the staff is awesome. Shout out Melanie and Raul for spectacular service!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
