Billy does a great job maintaining these classic games. Even when kids beat on them, Billy takes it in stride and quietly repairs them. It's a ton of work to keep them all in such great shape. He is always rotating in new games. Love this place.
Fantastic. Ohan what a throw back. Every machine was working in top top shape. Free play on all the machines. They charge by the 1/2 hour. Well worth the trip.
First time here and just focused on the pinball machines. Decent collection of about 25 machines all in good working order. Majority of machines from the 70's -90's. All machines are on free play. Reasonably priced with an all day pass option. A quick glance of the video games shows all the classics with some interesting machines. Would recommend and plan on at least 2 hours if not longer.
Fun, great old school games and nice selection of pinball, owner is nice and friendly. Just watch your time, I spent 60 bucks for two people and not that I regret it, I wasn't expecting that when I checked out. Fun time, will come back.
Very nice classic arcade. Very nice staff. Billy fixed the first ever arcade video game called Computer Space. He was explaining to me and my best friend history of Computer Space. The pinball machines collections were awesome. I enjoyed playing pinball and arcade games. If you enjoyed old school arcade games and pinball machines, come to Billy?s Midway Arcade. Billy your arcade is awesome and you are a nice person to meet????????.
Billy?s Midway is a fantastic spot if you wish to relive your childhood. This single room arcade is lined with over 50 video games. Please see excerpt below.
Ever since the Barcade closed in Jersey City, I've been really missing some of the old school arcade games. I stopped by today played some Galaga and some NBA Jam. There are a lot of machines I definitely felt like a kid in a candy store at first. I also talked with Billy he was very polite and knowledgeable. Definitely will be back again.
Review edited - with more information on the incident, I am happy to edit my review to one that is more positive. The reply provided by the owner was comprehensive and I'm sorry the incident had to be public in the first place. Regardless, Billy's Midway is an excellent arcade, and deserves your patronage. The location is clean, fun, and affordable and is up there with the ranks of Silverball and other vintage arcades. I'm looking forward to being comfortable visiting the location again, and I hope that ev
Great fun and a great value! Pinball and a lot of 1980s classics
If you're a fan of classic arcade games and are looking for a place to relive your youth, you're in luck! This arcade game place is the perfect destination for anyone who loves the retro gaming experience. Inside, you'll find a wide variety of arcade games, pinball machines, and shooter games available for a reasonable entrance fee. Best of all, there's no pay-to-play here! You can enjoy all the games as much as you want without worrying about additional charges. The owner of the arcade, Billy, and his te
Awesome place. All the games work perfectly, you pay for the time not per game. Great for nostalgic play or introducing new people to games. Great for parties and killing time. From pinball to asteroids, pac man to moon patrol it has it all.
Hi, I'm billy, just not the one from the arcade. I have been here a few times now, and have always thoroughly enjoyed this arcade. Everything is set to free play, and a day pass is only $30! They have half hour and hourly passes available as well. Pinball machines vary in condition from rough to great, though everything plays 100% amazing. You catch your quirk here and there just like you will with every pinball machine, but overall these machines perform far above average in comparison to the bulk of what
This place was highly recommend by friends to bring our kids too. It was a blast for the kids to play the video games my husband and I grew up playing. highly recommend to come and check it out
Brilliant!!!! This is a place that's focused on real family fun and nostalgia, not greed and corporate profit. Go support Billy and have a great time! This is one place my husband ALWAYS wants to take the kids to :))
Great experience with a classic selection of retro video and pinball arcade machines. The inclusions of machines like Atari's Computer Space and other historic machines are what truly stood out. Would definitely come back here again.
Super fun place to spend a Friday night. Lots of games to choose from and reasonably priced. (Consider the price of a movie or escape room nowadays! Support local!) The owner spent time showing us the guts of pinball machines and we got to play a wooden pinball machine from the '50s. Really cool experience, will definitely be back!
Had my wife's 40th party here. Everyone had an awesome time. Thanks for a memorable time!
Great spot, reasonably priced, Games are retro and still in working condition. Love it
This is a great space. The guys who run it appear to be nerds, which I mean completely as a compliment. They have a great heap of retro arcade games and pinball machines; they're listed on the website. They have Centipede right in the front, with the track ball! One of my earliest gaming memories is watching my dad play the same cabinet. So the nostalgia hit hard. If you can play for hours and hours, an all day pass is reasonable at $25. I dropped by with my 3 year old son for about twenty minutes and that
Great retro arcade! Brought me back to my youth. Lots of 80s and 90s-style games. Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Out Run, Tron, pinball, lots of racing games. Kids of all ages loved it! One downside was no food or drinks at all. I was pretty thirsty and wanted a Gatorade; however, the vending machine (only option) was broken. Also it is pretty expensive: $10 for 30 minutes, $15 for 60 minutes, $20 for 90 minutes, etc. We spent $75 for a family of 5 for one hour. You can go to Dave & Busters for less! Nevert
I really enjoyed this place! A nice retro arcade with a retro theme. Lots of fun pinball machines, old fashion, arcade, games and has reasonable prices. Will come back.
Fun and nostalgic!!! Can't wait to go back with some of my 40 plus friends. Great date night activity as well.
so much fun! so many games!! many pinball machines too! a fun trip down memory lane can't beat the prices!!!!
This place is very fun, and it has a combination of very old games and relatively new ones. A hidden gem. The only annoying part is that it is very hard to find.
This is by far the best local arcade, especially if you're into retro or vintage arcade games. You pay per half hour (or hour) instead of per game, making it way more cost-effective than most other arcades. Their game selection is huge, and games are constantly being repaired and added, so you can play new and different games each time you go back. Personally, the pinball section is my favorite part, but there's really a game here for everyone. Billy repairs the games himself, and you can even see him in ac
We always have a Great time at Billy's Midway. Such fun games and a Great place that I can actually beat my kids at games.
5-stars all around! Billy?s Midway is an amazing experience. Really well maintained arcade & pinball games. Great value for freeplay. Also the lineup has a good variety so there's something for everyone. On top of it, the staff and Billy himself are absolute gems.
WOW this place rules. So happy an arcade finally opened up close to my house. If you want retro nostalgia at a cheap rate, this is the place to be. I didn't realize how big the place actually was until I stepped inside. So many cabinets!! Then i immediately headed straight for Asteroids and Frogger and got lost in the glow of the screens. Love the classic pinball games too. If you're a child of the 70's/80's/Early 90's, this place will make you feel like a kid again. The best part was seeing ACTUAL young k
Really good maintenance/clean and family friendly atmosphere. Good family fun arcade place.
Lots of fun for the whole family. Highly recommend!
So much fun! Pay one price to play all the games! Old school pinball & video arcade games.
Visited this establishment today. The staff is extremely friendly. I had such great chats with them. I love that the games don't require quarters and you don't decide how long to pay for. You pay when you are done based on the time spent there. Very reasonable prices. These video games brought back such great memories from my childhood that I had forgotten. It felt so good to play these games again. I will definitely be back. Thank you Billy and staff.
Just stopped by with my teenage son and we had a great time. The hockey Foosball game had us hooked. This place is a time machine and so much fun. Special mention to the worker named Steve. Great guy who spent time telling us about the history of the games. The Wreck it Ralph game had quite the backstop. Thank you Steve. I'll be back with some friends for a night out.
Good selection of classics. The woman at the desk did charge us the rate for an hour when we were only there for 50 minutes. It was not made clear that they would charge by increments of exactly an hour, but if it were made clear from the beginning we would?ve stayed the extra 10 minutes ? just a little disappointed about that, hence my 4 star review
This place was such a pleasure to visit. It's a unique idea and is just a wonderful environment. It has the Mom and Pop feel from the moment you enter. In a world where it feels like we're being nickeled and dimed at every turn, this was a breath of fresh air. The place is very clean and the machines are really well maintained. My kids had a blast while I got to relive moments of my own childhood. My favorite part was when I got to explain to them what pinball is and them watching them play it for a very lo
Great place to play some older video games. Me and my son had a blast.
Love this place!! So many games to play. Great for adults and kids and teenagers. Brought a bunch of my sons friends here for his birthday.
Great selection of classic arcade games and pinball machines. Everything is in immaculate condition and kept clean. I like how the games are arranged too, it's really esthetically pleasing!
Must check out spot! Museum quality set up. Pricing is on point for quality of experience.
Really fun place to game at. Invite some friends, and have a blast. Even 1 hour is honestly fantastic! Fair prices, and a great experience. Would go again. :)
What a cool place. I spent about an hour with Billy even before I started playing games. He showed me the back room where he fixes and gets the games play ready. What a great guy and great place to spend a few hours. HIGE selection of games set in a clean vibrant room/rooms. I'll definitely be back.
This is an excellent arcade with a big variety of vintage games. All your favorites along with some lesser known interesting games. 2 rows of pinball as well. Nice atmosphere and staff. Reasonably priced. Had a great time!!
Really cool place with a ton of machines, all the classics plus many I've never heard of. Lots of cool pinball and some racing machines also. Prices are great as well. We stayed for 1.5 hours and paid 20 per person, for 30 it's an all day pass.
Billy?s was a really great experience with tons of games and a huge pinball collection, it was very well kept and I would highly recommend
Amazing place. I cannot wait to go back with more people. I could have spent an entire night there.
Awesome Place. Took me back to my child hood during the 80ies. Those were good years for me as a kid. Again, the place is awesome!
Can not wait to go back! Place had everything working which blew me away. I figured at least a few of the MANY games would be out of order or something but not here. My wife and I went and had a blast. We killed 90 minutes in there and I could have easily stayed 90 more. It cost us $20 each. There is a huge Irish pub downstairs ( not affiliated with arcade) and I can't wait to come back with my boys and have a few beers and then hit this arcade again. Nothing but the retro games you grew up with. You will
If you have even an ounce of nostalgia for old arcades from the 80's then you HAVE to get to this place. Looking for a nice place to bring the kids for a night out that won't cost you 200$? GET TO THIS PLACE! I honestly cannot wait to go back they had all my old favorites from the 80's here plus a few from the early 90's as well. Even better yet they had some pinball machines from the 60's and 70's. The owner is just the nicest guy and if you talk to him you can tell in an instant that he puts a ton of lov
We took our visiting 13 year old grandson here and he had a blast with his grandpa playing all the really great classic video games! All games were working and in excellent shape. Great idea! Games are all free, no money or tokens required and you pay for the time you spent there when you leave...we will be back to have fun again. Put it on your list of fun things to do this year!
Best arcade period. Lots of classics that play like you remember. Games are well maintained, and prices are great. Owner truly takes care of this place, and he is a great guy. If you are in the area, it's a must visit. Even if you aren't, it's worth the drive!
We had a great time here with our 15 year old that is obsessed with the 80s and old video games. My husband and I both in our late 30?s stepped in a time capsule. The machines are well kept just how we remembered them. The place is clean and the staff is super friendly. The young men were so polite and went above and beyond to show us how to use the games. I am so impressed by this arcade we will be coming back.
I went with a buddy and it was amazing. The ambiance, the staff, the arcade machines available are all amazing. The pinball machines here are so much fun! This is a place to come to at least once a month. 100% worth driving from Brooklyn to come here.
I love this place. I both want it to be successful and also keep it as a secret place.
This place is so great! It brings back the nostalgia of real arcade games long before playstation, xbox etc. So many memories of growing up!
I was back home in New Jersey to visit my family for the holidays, and my parents took me here. It was a blast! Very friendly staff and classic games. I will definitely be returning when I'm back in town.
An arcade that truly respects the golden age of gaming. The game selection deliberately covers every era. Lots of rare games, some museum pieces. It's clean and well maintained. Billy, the owner was happy to talk about the 'behind the scenes' work involved. There are stools for kids. The bathrooms are clean. A great experience.
Good selection of old-school arcade games, especially pinball! A few game tables I haven't seen before as well. No coins, pay by the hour (and not expensive either), very much worth the trade over coins. I will definitely be going back
Oustanding!! Good old fashioned games! My 8 year old was skeptical at first but we had a blast!!! Highly recommended!! Got to spend a few minutes speaking with one of the owners. Nice guy! SUPPORT LOCAL! And the Celtic corner is downstairs for a bite to eat withe the family!!
Absolutely love this place!! Great memories in 1 place! Prices are great! Environment is so clean! Love all the arcade games! I love that most of the games I played with growing up are still existing and at Billy's arcade! Ages me back 35 years...lol Billy, his wife and staff are so nice! If I didn't have a busy schedule I be there every week! Was just here tonight after not being there since early July! Cannot wait to go back!
It was so much fun, we felt like we time traveled to the 80s. I went with a group of friends (teenagers) and it was such a good time, it wasn't expensive, $10 an hour and it was so worth it. The employees were so friendly, helpful, and kind. The area is really nice too, 100% recommend for a date, family time, or even by yourself!!
Always a pleasure to go here. The owner Billy is very helpful and a great person. He is very informative on anything having to do with arcade equipment and will answer any questions, to the best of his knowledge. I frequently go here and I am a 40 minute drive away, but it's worth the trip!!!
This place is great to go back in time to experience the early days of the video game arcade of the 80s. What a wonderful assortment of video games and pinball machines to play. There's no screen swiping or tapping here, all require the skill of hand and eye coordination using levers and buttons. Instead of quarters, you pay by the hour. The staff is wonderful and Billy can give you history and facts on the games. There's even a small party room available for a group of friends to meet, chill and play games
This place is fantastic. If you're looking for a vintage arcade curated with great care, look no further. Day pass prices are reasonable, it's safe and clean, and if you get hungry you can pop downstairs to the Irish pub. My son and I had a blast!
Love this placeeeeeeeee great prices for free play, great selection of arcades, im a big pinball fan love their pinball selectionnn
So many classic games and pinball machines from the 70's. Glad we came, had a lot of fun
I was visiting from out of state and decided to look around for any local arcades since there are none anywhere near my home town. I was absolutely impressed with this establishment. Very clean, fun atmosphere and a great selection of classic games and pinball machines. Every machine I played was in excellent working order and the owner was extremely friendly. If I'm ever in the area again I'll definitely be going back. All day arcade for $25 is a great price if you ask me.
Really enjoyed the arcade. Owners were very friendly and inviting. The prices are very reasonable at $10 per hour. Pretty good variety games spanning several decades. I'm no expert on arcade games but I definitely played a few classics! Would totally recommend coming here.
This is an amazing place. With hundreds of arcade games and dozens of pinball machines, it is both arcade and a museum. In fact with an original working version of Computer Space and working pinball machines from the 1940s (all of which you can play), Billy's Midway easily has a larger collection than actual museums like The Museum of The Moving Image. The arcade is a fantastic deal--upon entering customers get a wristband. And you pay per hour (or half hour--whichever is cheaper) when you leave. While in
What an amazing place!!!! Took my 5yr old son here yesterday and he had a blast as did I. Awesome variety of retro games and if you're a fan of pinball you will not be disappointed!!!!!! Can't wait to go back!!!!
This place is great! Pay by the hour for unlimited play or get an all day pass. Fighting, racing, shooting, pinball... Tons of classic games. Really enjoyed Tron, Mario, Mortal Kombat, and the Area 51 shooter. Nice people, too. Constantly fixing and rotating games in and out. Would recommend, definitely coming back!
Another great addition to the retro arcade scene! It took a ton of hard work to get the place up and running in time for Memorial Day weekend so the community could enjoy some old school gaming fun during the long weekend. There is an excellent variety of games including an air hockey table. I've been informed that console games and a party area are soon to come. Many kudos to Bill for bringing back this nostalgic pastime where adults and kids can enjoy themselves and create memories!
Really cool place. Great selection of 80's and 90's Arcade games (even the table top models!) and a ton of pinball machines. I can easily spend a couple hours there. This place isn't really aimed at little kids, it's much better for adults who grew up hanging out at arcades.
Fantastic little arcade with a truly retro feel. A great selection of classic arcade games both cabinet-style and tables spanning several decades, as well as a great selection of pinball machines. Any fans of Ready Player One (book and movie both) will see several familiar titles here. Billy the owner is a great guy with a real passion for this, and his unabashed enthusiasm was a breath of fresh air. As an added bonus for those interested in a drink, the arcade is located directly above a bar. The arca
talk about walk down memory lane!!! So many games from my youth here. My kids always have a great time here. I like how it is pay by the time you play.. Meaning: Play for a hour unlimited games you pay 10 bucks I think it was. I know from past arcade play I could burn through 10 bucks playing the newer games in ten minutes.. This is such a better value.. (Note: I may be wrong on the price, either way its a great deal)
Awesome place. The owner Billy is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the arcade machines and very friendly.
Was taken to Billy's Midway Arcade on Father's Day by my daughter. She KNOWS how much I love pinball. It was like being back in the 60's & 70's!!! -Lucky Leos in Seaside Heights, Willowbrook Mall, Wayne Hills Mall, even Brother Bruno's! All vintage machines & all WITHOUT tokens or quarters. Simply pay the fee for the time you spend there. We took the 'all day' package which is $25.00 from opening (12:00 noon) to closing (10:00 pm). We got there at 2:00 pm, played until 6:30, went to eat & returned until clo
Good job in terms of not hiring the mentally ill
Billy and Ali are fantastic! Billy knows everything you'd ever want to know about arcade and pinball machines. You can tell he really loves doing this! This is an awesome place for parties and their weekly events are amazing! Can't wait to go back again and again!
Billy's Midway is awesome I used to work on those machines and work on pool tables and all kinds of entertainment machines before they were such a big thing. It is incredible they have so many of the classic games and it takes me back to earlier times. I went with my grandkids and they had a terrific time! I was so happily surprised to see what they had I met the owner he's a terrific guy and it's definitely a place that I would return. They have many other classic pinball machines and video games that star
Hey you, Gen X'er - this is where you relive your childhood. You grew up pumping quarters into these machines at Fun n' Games or Purple Room at Willowbrook Mall (and the boardwalk arcades at Asbury Pk, Seaside & Pt. Pleasant)... You had an Atari 2600, maybe even a C64 or Atari computer with a 5.25 floppy drive and dot matrix printer (bonus for a 1200 baud modem and BBS setup). This is the place where you travel back in time to the 80s & early 90s, all those exceptionally playable games with the visuals and
Very awesome arcade with a large selection of games to play from. Pricing is by hour or you can buy a day pass, we came in from a sale they ran for Black Friday. Totally worth it. They have lots of pinball machines, racing, and classic arcade style cabinets (Pac-Man, Space Invaders, games like that). As well as some fighting games. Has an awesome old smell to the building from all of the cabinets. Also there is some parking under the building, but not much so you might need to park on the street.
A nice concept/ throwback to yesteryear with a variety of pinball, classic arcade, air and bubble hockey games in a very clean facility with a friendly staff. My family was happy we checked it out during our travels and are always happy to support local businesses.
Nice place above a Celtic tavern. Plenty of classic arcades and pinball machines. Decent prices, wish they had food for sale, but you could get an all day pass and go out eat and return to play. Will be back to help in supporting to keep arcades alive.
Really enjoyed my visit. Small place, but densely packed. Old video games, pinball tables, air hockey. There's a ton of stuff to do. Good for all ages. They charge for time spent, no tokens. Play as many games as you want. would visit again.
good for you lad not hiring a freak show
i came here and was excited to try an arcade that didn't have blinding LEDs like modern game machines do or extremely loud noises as they overwhelm me sometimes, and i had a great experience trying everything! would come back with my dad next time for sure as he loves the retro popeye game, which billy?s has.
I like their flat rate pricing. No messing around with quarters and getting change. You could play all the games as much as you want. Places is clean, the staff is friendly. Lots of vintage games. I was having flashbacks to high school lol. I was there with my daughter for an hour. It was a perfect amount of time
Great place. Owner was very nice, and knew so much about all the old games. Works hard to keep everything in running order which must be tough with these vintage machines. Reasonably priced and many games to play. A great find!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
