Decent place to go bowling arcade on one end lots of bowling in the middle come by and check it out
Had a fault machine that did not report any points made on it. I told the manager and asked what they can do. He insisted that my boy did not make any points on the game. Not one after playing it 3 times (he made 95). I asked if we can just have a couple army men. He was very rude. I told him they would loose my business over a couple dollars. He said he did not care. 1 star
Great family night (Sunday) activity. Lanes are kept up, fast service at bar, reasonable price for bowling and beer. Bathrooms were really clean, updated, and stocked (wish they had paper towels instead of blowers but that's rare nowadays). Looks like it has mini golf and ax throwing on the other side where the arcade is. Overall, great family friendly place!
We had an incredible time thanks to our instructor, Kenny. From the moment we arrived, he made sure we felt comfortable and confident, emphasizing safety without taking away from the fun. His professionalism was top-notch, with clear instructions, hands-on guidance, and a really great attitude that made the experience even better. He made sure we understood the proper techniques, while also keeping a close eye on everyone, making sure we followed safety protocols while still enjoying ourselves. His enthusia
Not bad. Bowled one game. Changed up a lot in there for rid of pool tables as that's what we originally went in there for is to play pool. Ended up bowling one game and bowling shoes falling apart . But other than that it was ok. Stopped in at the bar for a drink and had long island ice teas and there were good sized drinks.
We had a lot of fun here and shout out to Scott in the pro shop that really helped us pick out the perfect ball!
Took my family there tonight and paid for 2 hours of bowling at $40/hour. We got pizza, wings, beer and soda. They charge $2 for a refill of soda which is such a terrible way to make a buck after all the money we had already spent. Our lane also glitched twice where we had to wait to be reset and I asked if they could add a few minutes back on the time we paid for and was immediately told no, they don't do that. Food was good, bowling was fun but we will go bowl somewhere else. Customer service was very lac
The bowling experience is alright however I would NOT order food or drinks here. Dead bugs were in my groups drinks and if they can't take care of a simple ice machine (or where the decomposing fly came from), god knows if they're doing anything to clean what they make their food in. Someone call the health department please.
Kenny was amazing! He made it so much fun we had a great time and will definitely be back! Thank you summer for the delicious cocktails!
Great staff and plenty of things to do. The pizza was pretty good too. It's a great place to visit when doing a tournament of any kind and you're trying to find things to do for the kids to pass the time and bond with their teammates.
Took my 4yr old daughter to the arcade section. She loved it! Very clean and great prices and prizes. Everything was very new. The games were fun for both of us. Definitely a great spot to get away from the heat or the rain. Very fun!
Thank you for hosting the JA event. I had never visited this bowling alley before the Bowl-A-Thon but I will make this a regular stop now. The arcade is HUGE for a bowling alley. Mini golf and axe throwing makes this a full day of entertainment for the family.
Fun place with some good variety of activities.
Kenny was our axe throwing coach. Had an amazing time he's great! Really cool guy he deserves recognition!
Great place to take the family. Prices are a little high, and the bowling side could really use an update.
They dropped one of my pizzas and had to remake it, had to refill the pitchers of soda that took 20 minutes away from the hourly bowling I paid for. And they wanted like $60 to rent a table just to bring cake in. This place was awful....
Katina was very sweet. Very personal and demonstrated great interpersonal skills. Also showed knowledge of drinks and bartending so I was very pleased with the service. I will definitely be coming back again.
Ordered a pizza and waited 30 minutes went up and said hey how long until our pizza comes out and they told me should only be a couple more minutes me and the group of people finished our 2 games and still no pizza went back up and finally asked again and they told us our order has been cancelled although we paid for it. We spoke to a manager and the only thing my they offered was a free drink or a Free game for 1 person. (We were a group of 6) this is totally ridiculous. Good bowling lane, bad customer ser
Front desk worker was super nice and accommodating. Lanes are clean. After 2 bowling alleys turned us away, this one finally had open lanes! Decent prices. Would love to come back and try the ax throwing!!!
Had sons bday party there everyone had fun but the Bartender would not take our orders unless our husbands were there next to us she only spoke to husbands of ours and took orders from them and make us wait until we saw a different staff person walk by and ask them for whatever we needed very touchy with husbands not professional at all husbands started to feel weird and no longer wanted to go get drinks or food but she would ignore us when we wanted to order something
Shoutout to Kenny for helping me and my lady out with the Ax throwing. She was frustrated with my coaching and tips, Kenny stepped in and gave us the game. Right on ??????
My guy Kenny at axe throwing was fantastic. Funny guy, great instructor.
Took my little family bowling the other day. Had a blast! And then my toddler decided after bowling to run to the arcade, so we went there for a little bit, arcades a little pricey but that was also a blast! Pizza is awesome! I recommend this like chicken Alfredo one they have! It has bacon on it, it was delicious ! Add mushrooms olives and onions and thank me later!! Favorite place I go to! I only go here sometimes because me and my daughter spend money fast here! Although my last visit was kept under 200
My son and I got into town late at night and wanted to bowl, and BRB was the only alley open. We walked in, got a lane, and had a great night of bowling. Highly recommend. Fair warning tho, they do have karaoke in the bar area.
Just stood at the bowling counter for 15 minutes and got absolutely no service. The only employee who even acknowledged me was some kid who told me that the front desk people were in the bar but didn't bother to go get anyone. After standing at the counter for 15 minutes for absolutely no reason I got mad and left. I won't be back
It had been years since I was here last, but the recent renovations were great. The daytime rates for bowling were a great value. And the whole family had a great time bowling together. We recently went back and did mini golf. While the prices were a little high for how long it lasts, everyone had a great time. It was a unique experience for mini golf and they made great use of the space.
Kenny was great! Super helpful love that guy
Went there for my birthday to go axe throwing what they don't tell you is that after 8pm they won't let you axe throw if your under 21 unfortunately some of my party was so they weren't allowed to even be in the same vicinity as us if we did throw axes. Wouldn't my recommend if you actually wanted to have fun with people you care about
1st time here, we really enjoyed it. Putt putt golf was pretty cool & really loved axe ?? throwing. Arcade games were top notch. Drinks & appetizers were very reasonable. Will definitely be back!!
Bowling balls are a little slippery and scarce. Shoes are uncomfortable. Other than that, it's a good place to go bowling. Gotta love the prices. Very worth your money.
The kids love coming here for the arcade more than anything else. The food is decent also. It seemed like they could have used more staff, we were there on a weekend and it was pretty busy. The staff we did see was friendly and helpful!
The worst service I've ever experienced. We walked into the bar and there were 4 people at the bar. Waiting for my turn at the bar as the 4th person, she waited on everyone that walked in and took 20 minutes to take my drink order. We ordered wings, she didn't take our name or where we were seated at the arcade. After 40 minutes we asked about our food and to have it boxed for Togo. Guess what, we waited another 25 minutes and then left! I didn't ask for a refund I left before I blew up about the worst serv
Came here for my birthday and was greeted with the best personality behind the bar! Cecilia was amazing, kind and very attentive! Will be back to see her!
Very slow service. I was sitting with my friend waiting a long time to order food as we could not find anyone. Also, when we went to purchase clubs for mini golf, the lady asked if we mind waiting 10 minutes so she can do a draw check. I've never been here and had to deal with hostility like this until today. I love the place, not so much the workers. They are rude, not friendly.
Love bowling at Big River. Now that they have indoor putt putt like Puttshack in Chicago. This one is better and closer.
Went there after work for my sister's birthday. It was around 10 almost 11. We couldn't order food because the kitchen was closed? That was a huge disappointment for us because we just got off work and we were hungry and we're obviosuly going to drink alcohol so we needed something to eat beforehand. As our group arrived we got 2 lanes. One side glitched and we still had 3 rounds left. We let the staff know and they said it can take anywhere from an hour to a day to fix. They said they don't do refunds. So
Its a great place to throw a birthday party! Or just knock down some pins.
Stopped here on a Saturday afternoon for something to do, to kill time before checking into a nearby hotel. Very unassuming from the outside, as most bowling alleys usually are, but 48 lanes inside with an awesome arcade. All employees were super friendly. We will definitely be back!
We had our Christmas party here!!! Excellent service and great food!!! Highly recommend.
A number of teams in our league moved this year and Big River is a very nice facility. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. Some new construction in process by the game room so it looks like it will just get better. Considering a change in venue and my average is still lower than my golf score it may be me not the lanes.
Wonderful clean ally! We had an amazing time from bowling to the arcade!
State bowling tournament. Plenty of lanes, easy to find. 2 complaints. 1) The parking lot, the aisles are too narrow. HD to do a 4-5 point turn to park my 1500 in a parking space. 2) For having over 100 bowlers in a state tournament at this house, more bartenders would have been nice. 1 in the bar and 1 runner, definitely wasn't enough personel for this event
Card machine didnt give us our card and it charged our bank the money anyways, we told front desk what happened they called their manager, manger said she would be back had us waiting 30 min never came back , I went to go look for her and she was at the bar. , talked to a supervisor he said he cant do ANYTHING about it and to call a number he gave us they said they couldn't give us a card because they didn't have any left even though after that happened they put a note on the machine that said "out of order
best axe throwing lanes (currently) in the quad cities. the targets are larger than the standard sizes, which is nice for beginners. unfortunately their axes are very dull, which causes them to bounce out frequently. Wish they allowed knife throwing as well, but the gaps in the fences are too large. The wood boards themselves were in good condition and sprayed with water to soften them/prevent splits which is important. good spot for beginners, a bit to be desired for intermediate throwers
First time trying this place. It was cool. Not really over crowded for a Friday night. A Lot of reviews complained about the food. They get a 10 from me. The food was fresh and hot, brought to my table promptly. I was even more surprised About the pricing. 2 people 2 games plus shoe rental was $25. Will definitely be going back soon. Didn't get a chance to try the arcade. Nice place to chill and hang out. They have a bar...if you're a drinker.
In town for the state bowling tournament. Had a great time with friends and family, bowling was tough but had a great last game!
Great place to take the kids, or have fun on a date
Good craft beer, the burgers are amazing. Staff is always there to help, we've had a work league here and we always enjoy it. Not two kid/arcade like, a real adults bowling alley that can be good friendly if that's what you're looking for.
A bit pricey per hr, put put was frustrating, didn't recognize the put on a couple of holes. Also, I was told the axe bar wouldn't be open till 3, but people were in there at 230. Kind of frustrating
The nachos were great I just wish they had half orders of most of their things I would like to try them but they're meant for two or three people not a single person. And I did walk by a party's pizzas they looked pretty good too. But there is no way I could eat a whole pizza.
the bowling was fun but the food? stay away. eat before or after you go for sure. the food is super expensive and terrible. my friend got fried mushrooms and they were still cold in the middle. she ate a few before she had to stop, and then we all got food poisoning afterwards. would not eat here. not to mention they literally won't let you bring your own water bottle in?
We were in town for baseball at TBK this weekend. We came in with our baseball team & and families - a pretty big group. Everyone was so accommodating & friendly! We ordered drinks & food - both were fast & efficient! Bartenders were a hoot! The kids did mini putt & the arcade. I can't say enough good things about absolutely everything at BRB. What a great place!
We always have fun there. We bowl 2 games. $41 bucks for 4 people/shoes. We usually order a pizza and appetizers. It's a pretty long wait for the food. We usually have played one game by the time the pizza comes. I think they need a better cook because the appetizers are never done just right. Always way overcooked and cold by the time we get it. The pizza is great though.
We love this place! Fun arcade, plenty of bowling space, and the food is pretty good too! The only note is that they need to train the young staff behind the counter at the restaurant better. They seemed like they didn't even know how to ring something up.
People are friendly, place is clean and welcoming!! The Arcade and mini golf are lots of fun! I love eating there especially when Lori cooks! She cooks from the heart and everything tastes special and yummy!!
Great food! Cool lanes! Definitely a cool family fun place!
Went to a birthday party. Packages are way over price. Arcade games broken, understaffed, no cleaning or sanitation schedules. Food is over price for a bar setting and takes way to long to get. If you tell a worker a game is broken they treat you as if you just trying to rip them off. Avoid this place. Not worth the time or money..
Everything else about this place is awesome! The problem we have now. Is that the managers and employees are 100% inconsistent. The old blond lady closes out your pool without any warning. Turning off the lights does not count. You must have verbally tell the customer that you have 5 minutes left like the other people have for the last five visits my wife and I have had. If you're going to be this way we have our own pool table. You have one warning
I'm a big fan of the arcade upgrades but the lanes need some work. The dots to line up your shot are completely faded and my ball that has 0 issues curving anywhere else seems to have a hard time on these lanes. Can't complain too much as I got to work on my spare game.
Overpriced compared to other bowling alleys on a Tuesday. Wings undercooked. Ordered pizza and it was bought out with wrong topping. Gotta pay for that new remodel somehow. Bowlmore is better 2 dollars games and 2 dollars shoes compared to 3.95 a game.
Bowled in the state tournament there yesterday what a great place.. plenty of room for your extra ball the french fries were killer the staff was polite and I felt like I was at home thank you so much for everything
The family and I enjoy ourselves every time we go. We typically just play the arcade games which we enjoy. But the bowling alley is always lively and a good time as well.
I have always gone to this place because of their prices. I brought my family of 4 and my family ordered a large pizza two orders of wings cheese bacon fries and fried pickles...to be honest...it was a lot of food. But we had every intention on taking mist of it home for leftovers. We played 2 games of bowling and left our table with the left over boxes and coats for 20 mins to play in the arcade. Came back and our food was thrown away. My 6 year old found our leftovers in the dumpster. I asked for a partia
Pretty good. Went here to practice with my high school team a few times and had very little complaints. The only thing I don't like is how outdated the machines are. They can get really weird sometimes and mess up racking the pins on some frames. And some of the staff seems a little untrained too.
d the game from there. Bowled another frame. And game stopped again. Said see front desk for another game. Family next to us has gotten nachoes. Husband goes to request a refund for the food and I go ask to fix the bowling game so we can finish. They state there are no refunds but the sign is not posted where food is ordered and only is on a sign stating where open bowing is prepay. Family next to us gets a whole pizza and nachoes. This was a second separate order we heard them go make. 10 mins later. It's
Always enjoy coming to this location for entertainment, but I would deff give it a 5 star rating if there were some pool tables. Not many spots besides bars, so it's not a good move for increasing your guests as well.
Went there today ordered pizza and cheese sticks!!! I watched my pizza sit on the counter over 10 minutes!!on top of that they gave my cheese sticks to someone else!!! I went to the counter asked for a refund was told they don't do refunds ok,,understood I asked could I get the pizza remade cause it had been sitting on the counter now 10mins plus I watched y?all take it off the counter in put in back under the heating lamp I was told NO I highly upset out of 40.00 and food cause I didn't want that but I can
Bowled here on a Sunday evening so it was pretty dead but we had a blast! Great lanes and the arcade was fun! The youngest person in our group is 45 and we all had fun.
Family friendly. Nice lanes. They also have pretty good food
Me and my girlfriend had a great experience with Rica this Friday. We come to Big River bowling every week and she never fails to make it memorable! It keeps us coming back!
I have been bowling here for 20 years in leagues! Every one of those years we have had end of year banquets and holiday parties where we all have a pot luck. Now the owner has stopped that totally because she doesnt want outside food! Well i am a HUGE part of the bowling community and i will do everything to make sure business stops!!!!
Very enjoyable experience, went there after prom with some friends. People who go there are so nice, a man generously took some stuff from us and lovingly advised that we kill ourselves. I won some rubber duckies from the arcade too so that was cool. ??
first thing when i walk in, got told i had to take my reusable water bottle outside. they removed all the billiards tables. arcade games rip you off, either by not giving tickets the game says it will (bowling skeeball) or by lasting 20 seconds (space invader shooter). the air hockey table uses a flimsy rubber puck that heavily slows down immediately after every hit or bounce. very unsatisfied at every turn.
Good environment! Lanes were well maintained and functional. Had their pizza ??. Square cut and really good flavor! Will bowl there again in the future!!
my buddies and i went in quite late and rica the manager did nothing but the absolute best in service! she made sure everything we had was top tier and all taken care of
While I was there had a lot of issues with my lane not resetting pins. The counter where you order food was also backed up for an hour, but to be fair there was a party before us that had ordered over 100 wings, so their fryers were all occupied and the oil would need to be changed. The place was pretty busy, I think it was a league night. Can't quite decide on a 3 or 4 star rating, but the crowding and food issue were likely out of the hands of the establishment. Beer was good though. Never had angry orch
No shoes for rental because they ran out, bartenders on arcade side are awful and ignore customers, don't know their beers. No staff to help with bumpers for the kids.
Very spacious place. So many lanes I couldn't even count. They were able to have a tournament and still have open bowling at the same time. They also had a very clean billiards area overlooking the arcade area. Which was was an extremely fun arcade, no fuss with tickets or coins. Everything was on a card. The kid was also very impressed with the prize room, which was the largest I've ever seen. I didn't not get anything from there, but there was a restaurant/bar area and a concession stand.
1st time here. Excellent kind staff. Very clean. Priced right. After bowling we enjoyed the arcade as well. Highly recommend. We will for sure return!
Weeks ago I set up an event for approximately 17 people with ?Megan? the Event Planner. We spoke many times confirming all the details prior to our event. This is the sixth year we've had our event at this facility so I knew exactly what we needed to make our event a success. Megan confirmed and reassured our simple requests and all was set to go.........we thought. We arrived and our lanes were not reserved nor did Megan act as if they were suppose to be. We waited over and hour for lanes and once the lane
We had a wonderful time with our family for an impromptu birthday party. Nice atmosphere and safety precautions in place for COVID. If you are tired of being stuck in the house, give this place a try!
Well was pleased to see that the place was very clean and management friendly. The food service was closed to short of staff but they let you bring in food. Nice. Great fu. And high energy.
Best spot for bowling. Not the newest and shiniest but they have easonable price for bowling and best conditions for the lanes. The food recently went up in price so not the deal that used to be. Don't recommend the food here anymore.
Fun time. Lots of bowling lanes and a newly redone arcade and pool table area. Decent prizes for the arcade, though it takes quite a few points for anything big. Pulled pork nachos for lunch - chips were more like a sour cream and onion flavor homemade chip than a normal nachos chip - choice of bbq sauce. Pretty tasty. Lots of other good choices. Good, fun afternoon.
Geeez where do I start; Rude, lazy staff, old, outdated, literally hasn't changed, smells like cigarette smoke. Me and wife yesterday tried to play a game but machine got caught multiple times, when I asked the staff the fix it they caught an attitude (goofy teenagers, wasn't worth snapping out) asked for a refund but was told no. Please go to a different bowling alley, I prefer Backyard Bowl in Milan.
Prices were not cheap. Then there phones went down, cash only. We ordered overpriced bar food that never came, and when we went to get it, had been sitting there for 20 minutes. Then the quarter machine went out of service in the pool hall. Poorly managed. So much potential
Just got back from bowling here. Did have fun because the people I was with. However there was a major lack of communication between us and the employees. We were first told 3.75 per game for 2 people. Later we decided we'd play multiple games. I went paid for 3 more games. Then after a game and a half. We get told that's all we paid for. Then the manager tells us its 3.75 per person for one game. Just wish we would've been told this in the beginning instead of 3.75 per game.
This is a very large and nicely spaced facility. The arcade is so clean and up to date and a fun place for a lil family afternoon of bowling and games and pizza! Food is as expected for a bowling alley and drinks too. Prices are rising these days...but keep up the good work at this place.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
