Service was poor. Frustrating, long wait for absolutely everything, my friend food never came. We found out they placed it on a different table, no refills (I had to go to the bar to refill my Pepsi, overcharged for extras on my other friend's receipt. Go to play games ??
Excellent customer service, especially by Keiara. It's rare to have young staff be able to anticipate customer needs and answer questions completely while managing more than one task. She and other staff members did just that to create a positive experience.
Great place for bowling, huge arcade for kids, sports bar area. Burgers and chicken quesadilla are fine, nothing special. Small tap list with mainstay mass produce beers, a few mainstay craft beers and two local craft beers on tap. I believe they had a few ciders as well. Happy hour price for a pint of beer was $4.50 which was nice to see. Pretty busy for bowling, would suggest reservations. Friendly service and plenty of parking.
My wife wanted to give me a birthday party since I've been on the earth for 70 years, she said it's gonna be a big Al?s in Vancouver i?ve never been there before I was a little like ok and when we got there, it was so easy to check in. They had our four bowling lanes ready. We had a maximum of 24 people when my grandkids arrived. They storm the place all 13 of them and the staff was so patient we ended up having a very, very good time. The service was great. They're too young ladies that was helping us wit
We had fun..bowled 2 games. The staff wasn't all that friendly. My grandson had a blast though. He got to play some video games too.The food was ok.
We had a fantastic family night bowling. Good food and big laughs. Erin was our server and she was excellent! We absolutely would choose her anytime..friendly, kind, prompt and efficient. Can't wait to come back.
Old review, but this was a great place to have the Blazers 2023 draft party. A little crowded, but I am glad I made it. I ended up winning a reversible practice jersey.
Our server Erin was absolutely AMAZING! We had my nieces birthday party here and she went above and beyond to accommodate us. The manager Danielle also checked in and was so great. This is not the first nor the last kids birthday party we will have here!
I went to Big Al's. They have lots to do an arcade for the kids, bowling, food, and beverages for the kids and for the adults. Mixed drinks are about 13.00 every run around you is forgetting about the problems and having fun if you go to the bar there's big screen TVs where you can watch the football game or you can play pool or shuffleboard. I'll bring my family back...
I used to come here with my children often. I feel that my son with autism was treated as if they didn't want him to be there . It's really sad. The management said they ?forgot?about his drink as they told the server to no longer come to us because we were not allowed to order alcoholic drinks anymore . I really don't care about alcohol. Im a medical professional in the area and am severely disappointed in the way management treated us . The one bright star in the encounter is this younger Hispanics im so
This place is so much fun for the whole family! Great customer service! Lots of lanes! My son and I played 2 games and got shoes also and we played close to $40. They have a HUGE arcade as well and a super cool spot to spend all your tickets at that you win playing the games at the arcade! The only thing that I didn't really like/care for was that they DON'T accept cash it's card only here. But other then that they have an amazing food/drink menu which you can order while inside or order from their website
Big Al?s recently hosted our Mother/Son Bowling Night for King?s Way Christian School, and it was an incredible experience! From start to finish, the customer service was superb. Gunjan, our event manager, was outstanding?she was incredibly helpful, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone was taken care of throughout the night. I worked with Lacey to create the contract, and she was so accommodating and patient, despite all my questions and changes. She never faltered in her dedication to ma
A ton fun! A little pricey though. Sometimes just paying by game is cheaper than reserving a block so, look into how quick you'll bowl. Arcade is fun when they all work. Food is yummers!
We had a great time. A lot of the games were down, so that was a 7 it's to be expected with those types of games. Overall, it was a great experience.
We just celebrated my father-in-law's birthday here at big Al's. We had a blast! Everyone enjoyed the bowling, the food was delicious, and the service top notch! We personally loved working with Gunjan and Justin. It's super clean and luxurious inside for bowling/arcade fun. We cannot wait to go back!
Expensive. Staff is sub-par friendly. Extreme wait times for bowling (3.5 hours on a Saturday night) when over half the lanes were not being used. I know they have waiters/waitresses that go to the lanes, so that could be why; but you should just inform that you won't have one and utilize all the lanes for those who just want to bowl. In the arcade there were tons of games to play? if they worked. I counted 11 games that either were shut off completely or said they needed maintenance. Big Al?s used to be
Went here for a Birthday party for one of my Daughters classmates... We had a blast! Lots of fun games, and the food was great! I like that all the prize tickets you get from playing games load onto a card (same card you load up with credits and swipe at machines to play the games). While I do miss the thrill of a bunch of tickets flying out of the machine (while bells and whistles go off), I was very thankful to not have to have to tote around thousands of prize tickets, tokens, or coins for my kid ??.
Overall a solid dinner and fun. Arcade/games area is smaller but still have a good selection. Lots of bowling lanes so a good outing spot with the family.
We have had a fair amount of fun here in the past and mainly come here for the arcade. However, the arcade is deeply in need of some sprucing up/repairing, our last trip was kind of a bummer... a fair amount of the games were either broken, partially broken or needing some maintenance pretty badly. It also seemed like some of our points (possibly a couple thousand) we have been collecting on our card are now gone? This arcade isn't cheap at all lol we have spent hundreds and possibly up to a thousand there
I am writing this review and will also be sending a formal letter to the owner to share my experience at your establishment on May 7, 2025. One week prior to the event, I called to ask whether we needed reservations or a private party room for a group of approximately 15 people. I was told that reservations were not needed and that open seating in the bar area would be fine. On the day of the event, I arrived at 4:00 p.m., and several of my guests were already there. At no point during arrival ? for mysel
We had our group work party here and it was a great time. Good food and drinks and, oh yeah the bowling was a good time as well. It was my first time bowling in 35 years! This was a very nice place compared to the places we went to back then!!! ??
It's all for service. The functionality of the bowling and games is fine, but the service is beyond horrible. We have been coming here for years, since opening, and being in the service industry I always give a little grace. It was what seemed to be a mellow day and took until our 7th frame to receive just drinks. We never saw a server or anyone to help until we were done with the first of three games we had prepaid for and all they asked was, ?are you ready to close your tab?? I politely said no as we ant
Very nice layout. I've been going here since I was young, but they don't accept cash now. If you do have cash, you need to load a card, which is (to me) inconvenient. Overall, great experiences, kind and attentive staff. The big kicker for me is not accepting currency would have gave 5 starts if I didn't have to walk back and forth to the door and counter
Okay, you can have days of fun here for all ages. There is literally fun for everyone under one roof. Bowl, games, watch sports, food, drinks?prizes too! Staff is friendly. Many food options?so much to do in one building! Great parking too!
We had an amazing time at Big Al?s for a birthday party. They would check in on us to ensure we were having a great time and to see if we needed anything throughout the party. Food was great and the staff was friendly.
With their new reservation system, walk ins are deprioritized to online reservations. With our experience, we waited THREE HOURS for a walk in reservation (was told it'd be two hours) before we were told online reservations were prioritized before us. They did not tell us this during our initial check-in to establish our reservation. I hope this system corrects itself to find a balance between the two. The manager, Jose, was understanding but hope they can improve the system for busy weekends. Edit: emaile
Great place! Each and every staff are friendly, accommodating and a pleasure to talk to. We had the pleasure to be served by Jon. Very personable, friendly and great customer service. We look forward returning here soon!
Big Al's is huge. This is a massive place with so many TVs, bowling lanes, and arcades. Great place to watch one game or all the games at once. A massive dining space with pool tables and pinball tables, which rent for $8 an hr. Food and drinks were decently priced, and the food was pretty good also. Go during happy hour, order the kids a meal and get $5 credit to play games, and some games are half off to play during that time. Lots of bowling lanes with huge screens playing all sorts of things. This place
Brought my family here to celebrate my son's birthday. It was pretty spendy. It was over $100 for 3 of us to bowl for an hour and a half. We spent about a half hour of that waiting for the mechanic to fix what they called "blackouts." The pins wouldn't clear, and our balls kept getting stuck and not coming back. We ordered the $30 nacho, and it was giant and delicious, but we also ordered a kids meal, which was supposed to come with a $5 arcade card (great deal!). We had to ask four different employees how
Only reason I rated a four is because of the price of bowling for 2 kids 1 adults was $29.95 for 1 game. $96 for a supreme Nacho, 2lbs of wings, a burger and chix quesadilla, I will say the food was excellent, worth the price, water to drink. Spent $60 for arcade games. Plan on opening the wallet for about 3 hrs of funtime
Prices are ridiculous for games. Much higher than others. We spent $70 just done games per child. This was for a very short period of time to play. You barely get tickets for the high priced games. Dave & Buster's is much more affordable, has much better games and you get more tickets.
We celebrated my son's Birthday at Big Al's, it was amazing. It was so nice to have everything handled by the kind and courteous staff. Gunjan and Griffin were both super helpful and made the whole experience very enjoyable. The kids liked the pizza and loved the arcade. This was the easiest Birthday party ever, we'll definitely plan on coming back for future parties.
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Big Al?s Vancouver. From the start, the customer service was lacking?our interaction over email was rude and unprofessional. When we arrived, we were forced to switch lanes, which was an inconvenience, and the new lane had issues of its own. To make matters worse, the tables at our new lane were never cleaned, leaving us with a messy and uncomfortable setup the entire time. Additionally, they mistakenly delivered my son?s birthday dessert to the wrong tabl
Happy New Year 2024! It was my first time at Big Al's bowling. Bowling staff and bar staff were super friendly! ?? The food was yummy! We ordered chicken wings, fish & chips, fries, taco, and loaded fries--all delish! ?? Pricing was reasonable. Family friendly. Good music. Highly recommended! I'd definitely go again! ??????
Great facility! The Red Bull ?cocktails? were yum too! We had a great time, thank you! #clean #friendly #affordable #fun #highlyrecommended!
Had the best experience here today with my nieces. Dustin, one of the managers, made sure my special needs niece got the best lane possible for her and was the nicest manager I've ever had the pleasure to work with. Kyle in the bar was great and made fantastic drinks. David was also in the bar and was a fabulous bartender! We thought the value was well worth it- and the experience felt very personable. We did go on a Sunday at the advice of the venue when I called earlier in the week as they knew it would b
Friendly staff in the bar/restaurant. Very clean. No issues with the bowling lanes or computers or anything. A little difficult to find bowling balls below 15 lbs with large holes (I have weak arms and large fingers). That's pretty par for the course, though. Again, staff went above and beyond and were great!
Overall fun place to hang! Their burgers are really good and the sundae is okay. The hummus plate and onion rings are awesome! Bowling is good except they must have forgotten to spray a couple pairs of bowling shoes because a couple of us noticed some stank coming from the shoes in our group.
Great service and environment from an owner that gives back to the fishing community!
I hosted an event here for work, and their event staff is fantastic! Gunjan is especially phenomenal. She really made us feel welcomed and went above and beyond to make our event successful and fun for all of our families.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They over charged on drinks. We paid for two rounds of bowling and only played one after waiting for 2 and half hours. Asking for a refund for the game we didn't play. They gave me a gift card but didn't get me the full amount that I paid. I want a refund! Not okay!
Must take kids, kids loved it! Some of the machines were down like the virtual one but still the kids had a good time. Open late is a plus too, good place just for a couples date, has bowling, drinks, and adults drinks if you like those, and a restaurant and if you don't want to dine at the restaurant you can just order at the drink spot. Pretty cool spot.
We had a great time at Big Al?s. It was a lot of fun for all ages. Huge selection of arcade games, VIP bowling, clean facility and great food. The staff was very professional and kind. We're hoping for some Monte Carlo bowling soon.
I was visiting Vancouver from out of town, wanted to do something fun with my boys, and Big Al's came up on Google. I figurd we'd check out the Arcade. It was disappointing. Many of the games were off or were not working. We'd ask an employee, and their response was that I'll get a maintenance or mechanic worker over there. Games would eat credits on the card they require to use. We'd tell an employee, and the same response will get maintenance over there. Guess what.... Maintenance never came, We'd follow
Nice family fun but overpriced by 50 percent. My regular bowling spot is 2.50 shoes and 4.50 games. This place is 5.00 shoes and 9 games. Double the price and absolutely not worth it.
Went there on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday party, rented 5 lanes for 2 hours: The good: wait staff was nice, lanes were clean. The bad: 2 of the lanes broke 3 times in our 2 hours there, where the balls wouldn't be returned and were stuck down by the pins. Took the one attendant pretty long to show up to fix it. Ordered catering and while the wings and breadsticks were pretty good, the pizza was terrible, like shouldn't be served to the public bad. 3 stars, couldn't definitely be improved give
Place is so amazing and welcoming! I love the environment, service is great! Always checked in on us and made sure we were always taken care of
I'm giving 3 stars, but that's a combination of 5 stars for the venue and bowling, and the lowest conceivable score for the food. Bowling was great, I had a lot of fun and prices were reasonable; I'd definitely come back for it. I just wouldn't eat there again. My partner and I have now tried the hot cauliflower, beef quesadilla, mozzarella sticks, and a burger, and everything has been so bad we couldn't finish it. It's also expensive; we spent as much on food as we did on the bowling. My friends have repor
The kids loved it. We look forward to going here whenever we are in the area. The games have always kept the kids entertained, and by letting them use their Al's Card to get food, they have the freedom to do their own thing and eat as the need grabs them. As an AAU program with players ranging from the age of 8 to 14, I can honestly say that they have something for everyone, no matter their age. I wish they had something like this in Sacramento. An easy 5 stars.
Top-tier bowling alley! Quality aesthetics and great service! Fun lighting, dozens of big screens playing good music, and much better food than you're used to at a bowling joint. They have a full-service bar, a large arcade, and a real restaurant. Plenty of lanes and lots of fun!
I wanted to have my son's birthday party here since he was turning 14 and who knows if he will want his mom organizing parties for him once he is in high school. So we went big and I am super pleased with our experience! First of all, the party packages through Big Al's are an amazing value considering everything that's included; 90 minutes unlimited arcade play is ridiculous and we got more than our money's worth just with that. The team members who serviced our party were fantastic as well. Gunjan was pr
Had our kids birthday party here. Gunjan was great and took awesome care of us. Its nice to throw parties here because they take care of such a big portion of it for you. Very low stress and the kids love it. Thank you again Gunjan
Our server, Nick, did a fantastic job at taking care of the party. We had a great time! Thank you so much for helping make my son?s 15th birthday awesome.
I'm not much disappointed! We celebrated our wedding anniversary. We were 3 families, 11 people. They gave us only one line to play. At the request to give 2 lines, they refused, saying that they were all booked, although I called in advance and they told me that everything was on a first-come-first-served basis and that they did not accept reservations by phone. Next to us, there were 6 more free lines to play. We were there for 3 hours, and all this time, the lines were free. There is also a second
This afternoon was so much fun at our niece birthday party. The food, service and bowling was amazing, the best we have had out in a while. We will definitely be back to bowl and eat and spend time with our family.
Planned an office party here for about 40 people and it was great. Really good food, great activities, and great service! Thank you Big Al's. We have also come here as a family quite often and have always had a great experience. There is always plenty to do here. Staff are always amazing too!
Had a good experience here last night and felt like I should write a review. I do have other negative issues with this establishment, but I'll save that for the end. Last night, my bowling lane did not return the ball (this happened 5 times) and at one point we had to wait half an hour for the only (1) technician working to return a ball. Our server took it upon herself to ask the manager to see if there was anything they could do for us. They moved us to another lane, and took the food off the bill. Side n
Bowling is fun and the lanes are usually kept up nicely. Like the food and the staff is friendly and helpful. My daughter loves the game arcade and we do spend quite a bit of time there. My only gripe is the value/cost of the games. Price is just a bit too high for these games.
We booked the go big party package last minute and everyone was so kind and accommodating. The staff was incredibly attentive and helpful!
Great experience for my son's 7th bday! My son said it was better than DisneyLand. Gunjan was super helpful and we appreciate her!
Wanted to take my daughter and her friends bowling to celebrate her birthday. For a couple friends, it was their first time bowling. I went in and they said the wait time is 1.5 hours on a Saturday, ok, so we got here after an hour thinking that they could play arcades for 30 mins while we wait, ended up waiting another hour and no one could tell us when we would finally get to bowl. Every time I asked, I got told "another 20 minutes ". Half their arcades weren't working. Overall disappointing. People reser
We had a company event here. It was nice having a private room where the Mexican food was good for a bowling alley. They also have private lanes to use. They have an arcade as well as a sports bar on the other side.
Had a 5 year olds birthday party here and they didn't disappoint. Fun, great service, food and drinks were perfect, and the space was large and clean. Staff had everything we needed and more. Kids couldn't have loved it more.
On January 19th we celebrated my daughter?s 18th birthday party. The staff from the time we step in and out were so great of host to us and our guess. The food and drinks were always on time and them being so attentive to us that it suck that it had to end. We appreciate all those who service our bowling lanes especially management. Again,Aloha for everything!
Took a fellow college friend out for his birthday and went bowling after a nice BBQ meal and he used to work at this place when it first opened in 2006. I had never been here before and never even heard of Big Al's and I love the atmosphere, the lighting, a mini gaming area, award prizes, food court, bathrooms, a private luxury lanes area, and a huge back sports bar area with giant TV's, pool tables, ping-pong tables, and even a gas fireplace in a far corner. It had a Dave & Busters meets Bass Pro Shop vibe
The place to be for big screens and awesome nachos
Had my daughter?s 13th birthday party here. Gunjan was the event manager who took care of us. It was GREAT! Everything was set up beautifully, the girls enjoyed bowling, pizza, unlimited sodas, ice cream, and the arcade games. Staff was attentive and everything went great!! Thank you, Big Al?s!
We really enjoy this place! However when it comes to the burgers not sure what's going on with them. They taste like propane. The crazy thing is when I was here a few months back I had the same experience then. Hopefully this can get taken care of so I can enjoy a hamburger
My oldest son had his 12th birthday here last weekend, and I feel like we got the VIP treatment. He had a blast, and for a celebration just after all the closures, I feel the staff and facilities were up to par, if not above and beyond. On attentiveness and cleanliness, friendly and professional, everything far exceeded expectations. It was a bit pricier than some options you could pick for a kids birthday these days, but compared to the last two being flops, we feel we got our moneys worth. Pizza was tasty
This is based on our latest experience here. There is an online reservation system but it's 2 hours out. So if you just have a tiny human who wants to bowl, you have to go there and put your name on the list. 1.5 wait. Can't sit in the restaurant also 1.5 wait. So we grab a table in the bar and order through the qr code. Everything comes except the kids meal doesn't come with the play card. Then all the sauces were wrong. At this point we needed water so I went to the bar, 2 bartenders no line. No
The only reason I gave this place four stars is because a lot of times the arcade games are literally just not working. I've actually gone around and unplugged and plugged back in some of the games and then they start working again. They need to have somebody at least go through and put signs on stuff or something
Good place to go bowling and lots of cool modern arcade games I didn't play. Food was a hit and a miss. The wings were good. Burger wasn't it. Drinks on tap were exactly what you would expect, Margarita was not it. If I went again I'd reserve a lane before I got there, not order a burger, and stick to drinks on tap
We had a 10th birthday party here and our host Gunjan was amazing. My son said the best party he has ever had. Thank you for a great time!
A really awesome and fun place for any age and any group of people. The more people you have the more competitive it can be or makes a great date night. Highly recommend this place!
Gunjan is an excellent host. All we had to do is show up and she made sure we had everything we needed. She's very accommodating and helpful.
Great and friendly staff . Everyone was super helpful anytime a question came up. Food was amazing . Got the spagettie plate for lunch .and some bloody merrys. My daughter had a blast bowling and had a blast playing in the arcade. Next time I'll load my card w more money cause doing it twice was easy but time pressing w a 5 year old. Won her a unicorn and other stuff in the claw machines. All and all was an amazing day ?? ? ?? the virtual reality game!!!! Was amazing with the girls . I tried it being an ad
Very fun time with the family. They took good care of us and we had a blast bowling with the kids. We don't do this often but it sure was fun
A great place to hang out with friends and perhaps watch a football game. The staff is exceptional, I couldn't have asked for better service.
Had a great time with my staff. They took care of us from get to go, food n drinks n bowling. Thank you to gunjan(I think) sorry and the wait staff for being so helpful and kind.
A lot of the games were broken as was some of the bowling lanes...bumpers wouldn't come up. the games ended before the bowling ended before our plays were done , very frustrating . Couldn't get anything to work right. But the food was good .
Always a good time. Generally going to spend more than you'd like here but that part is understood. Helpful people as well. Shout out to the manager John or Josh I think, and TSapp. Genuinely tried to solve a problem for a customer.
This past Friday our church rented out the back event area, and about 100 Christian men decended on this establishment, looking for fun and food, this place definitely delivers on both, just wanted to thank the crew here for being so on top of it all, very accommodating, friendly and professional. I've personally never been to a big Al's so I had no idea what to expect but it was super awesome. Thanks guys n' gals!
A good place to bring kids to play and eat. Of course they have have bowling lanes but also a big arcade area. Pizza and other comfort foods served. Also a bar area for adult beverages. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars. -VanPort Insider
Jon was super helpful and helped us find our card that had 25,000 tickets I'm so grateful for Jon! Thank you so much
We had my nephew?s 7th birthday here and the staff were all amazing. They were incredibly attentive and helpful, going above and beyond.
Great time, good music, the lanes were a little dark for my taste, but the customer service was top notch.
Terrible food, dreadful service 0/10 would not recommend. Server only acknowledged us when we were about to leave after sitting with menus for over 5 minutes while our server chatted with coworkers less than 8 feet from us. No greeting, no drink order. We were her only table, it was VERY slow. After we received our food she only came back to take our payment when they overhead that I was prepared to leave without paying. I did not tip, which is something I NEVER do. If you're going just for bowler or arcad
Do NOT come here on a Tuesday. They advertise $2 games and shoe rentals, but only if you are a walk-in customer. More than a dozen lanes were open for our entire 90-minute wait. We asked the front desk folks about this a couple of times and they said those lanes had been reserved, yet no one shows up and no one gets to bowl on those lanes. While we waited, we only moved up two spots on their online tracker before it stopped working. Went to ask the front desk where we were on the waitlist after one hour and
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
