Beach Fun & Games

Beach Fun & Games

Reviews Summary

This arcade receives mostly positive feedback for its friendly staff, well-maintained games, and unique selection, including rare rhythm games and classic cabinets. Many appreciate the affordable pricing, ticket prizes, and adult beverage options. However, several negative reviews highlight strict enforcement of mask policies (even for young children) and aggressive behavior from staff regarding token purchases before browsing. While families and regular visitors praise the fun atmosphere, others criticize the arcade for being unwelcoming, particularly to those with young kids or hesitant to commit to tokens upfront. Cleanliness and game variety are consistently praised, but staff interactions polarize opinions.

Customer Reviews

Well worth a visit. We stopped by while out shopping, so glad we did. Nice place for parents to take a a/c break while the kidos had some fun.

Such an amazing arcade! So many great games, everything is in mint condition, and sooo many great prizes of all kinds. Perfect for all ages, we had a blast having a few beers and revisiting our favorite games as a kid. An absolute perfect way to enjoy the boardwalk after a great day at the beach!!

We love coming here on vacation! Great arcade and well worth it! They have everything from skeeball, VR games, Pac-Man! We love it! I grab a beer and let my kids go have fun!

We had a great time. Lots of games and the man at the desk was very helpful. He gave us direction?s to other fun things to do also.

This was a really cool arcade. I came here on vacation and I decided to check it out. It's decently affordable and you get bonus credits if you spend 30$ or more. Which is nice because most games are reasonable at 1,2 credits for ticket games, 3-4.5 credits for skill games and 6 credits for the VR, air hockey and DDR/DJ games which give you 2 tries usually, or more if you do well. I like the prize selections too. The staff are helpful and nice & you get good prizes for every amount of tickets earned. I gues

Great little arcade! Very fair prices on the games and they even had a good selection of alcoholic and NA drinks to sip on while gaming. So glad we stopped in!

Wonderful place. Fabulous selection of new up to date games and things we've never seen. The staff were helpful and friendly. The kids 5,16,17 and 42 lol had a fabulous time. Highly recommend coming to play.

Ice cold beer and AC. Double tokens after visiting the alligator attraction. Friendly staff and fun games. Lots of tickets to buy cool prizes. I've read through the reviews and there's a common theme amongst the one-star reviewers. First they only review one or two businesses. Second they're complaining that they're trying to get free air conditioning and being asked to leave. Me as a paying customer if I entered with a bunch of people just hanging around would find it hard to spend my money there. We had

This place is a hidden GEM! We took the kids here when visiting the boardwalk. We figured hey why not. We had to buy a card for $1 and then added $100 to play. We split it between 2 girls and we were there for at least 2 hours trying to burn through it. I wish I had taken more pictures.

Really happy we found an arcade while on vacation here. They still use tickets and tokens, and games aren't over priced! They have skee ball, Galaga, crane machines, and shooting games! I see a few reviews complaining about how you have to buy tokens and commit to playing after walking in. This is very common practice for arcades. If you aren't playing the games, you're standing around doing nothing and that's called LOITERING. Employees were very friendly and patient with me when I picked out my prizes.

The friendliest staff. They gave hints to succeed on tix. Such a sweet experience

It's a medium sized arcade. A mix of games are available but some were out of order. My nephew really wanted a claw machine but most of them were out of order. If you're looking to beat the heat and play some games, it's worth going. They also offer adult beverages which is nice!

I love this little arcade, I make a point of coming here every time I'm in the Treasure Island area! They have a Dance Dance Revolution machine, as long as that stays working I'll keep coming. They also have a big selection of other fun games too, like Soul Calibur 2, ice hockey, a super fun Nerf game with automatic machine guns, and so on. They also have a nice little selection of beer! My friends brought me here as as stop on my Bachelorette party a few years ago and we all had fun, so if six girls with

Visited several times over a few weeks. Son loved the gaming and we enjoyed playing with him. Fun atmosphere. There aren't tons of gaming options, but certainly plenty to do. While beer (and sodas) is sold, there are not any raging alcoholics here.

Games are pricey and a $30 card with a $5 free bonus does not last long & prizes are lack luster?? Kids had a good time though and drinks were reasonably priced.

Had a fun little time here. Games were a good mix of newer and older and all of them seemed to be working well! Only complaint is the tickets for prize amount. Felt it was a bit too many tickets for the prizes they offered. This is typical in a more touristy area though so it's to be expected. Staff were very friendly though. If we're in the area again I could see us dropping back by!

Great budget friendly arcade with some amazing semi rare rhythm games!

As we walked in the cashier working on 03/09/21 was not pleasant and welcoming. Told my 4 year old and i that we have to buy tokens before he could even browse and want to play. Literally came left his post to make sure no one touch one game unless we decided to purchase. So much for the free will or browsing. It's definitely not kid friendly I would recommend heading down the street to the other arcade that I would give a 5 stars to then the other ?dump?.

Better arcades around. Some newer machines but many old ones. Cost of playing is too much for what it is. Take the time to dry to Main event or Chuckee Cheese and it will be more fun for the kids. Staff was friendly. Parking sucks.

My boyfriend and I love this place! The staff are all lovely. They have a very well rounded set of arcade machines, including new and old machines and various types of gameplay. We're delighted by the Star Trek Voyager cabinet, and the 2 Japanese arcade games were an interesting surprise in the mix. I thin I love their choices of music too!

The arcade upstairs in John's Pass was one of the best arcades I've ever been to. It was fun for adults and kids! They had a lot of new games as well as some classics. This arcade also serves beer and wine, so we got to have a couple drinks while we played. All the games were in great condition, but if we had any issues with the games, the staff was helpful and friendly. When we were all done I was surprised to see there were a lot of prizes for adults as well as kids. The arcade was the highlight of our v

I never leave 1 star reviews but this place is absurd. My one year old was being carried and not wearing a mask. The rest of us were wearing them appropriately. The rude old man told me that she either needed to wear a mask or ride in the stroller, despite the fact that there is absolutely no mandate and the CDC says that babies SHOULD NOT be wearing masks. We were going to spend more money on here too. Sorry for you ??

This is the nicest, cleanest arcade we have been to, ever. The staff are attentive and kind. The space is clean and attractive and you can have a beer while you play with your kids! We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent here and would recommend it to everyone wanting to have some fun at John?s Pass. Thank you, from Columbus, Ohio.

If I could give them no stars I would, and I really never spend time giving anybody reviews - good or bad. Long story short: we are not anti-maskers, we are pleasant people with kids, and were endlessly confronted about total non-sense. We will not be back. Was recently just there with my 2 boys (2 & 1) and nephew (1) as well as my wife and siblings. As I walked in my mask fell below my nose and the cashier asked me to pull it up so I did. As I was getting my tokens the cashier started questioning my wife

We love this place! So much fun for the kids and us!! The owner and staff really make this place. They are extremely friendly and super patient with the kids and keep the place immaculately clean! This is one of the few arcades that still uses tokens and tickets as opposed to the "credit card" and they serve adult beverages too! Best arcade ever!

Well kept arcade at Johns Pass. My husband saw the "skee ball" sign and wanted to show the kids. 45 minutes later we were still playing dance dance revolution and having a great time. Some of the games are a bit expensive, costing multiple tokens for each play but, it was comparable to other places we had been. Games that gave you more tickets and have more play time cost more tokens. They served beer and wine which was a plus since we had walked from our beach house. The woman who appeared to be in cha

We stoped in for a minute to beat the heat and ended up staying 2 hrs. Prices are fair and there is beer for parents.

On our trip to Florida we encountered heavy rain that derailed our plans for a day. To fill the time we went to this arcade. It was so much fun! All the kids were wearing smiles and parents too! Great staff, fun games, wonderful experience. You guys made our day!

After they closed, they waited for us to finish. Super friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Bring your kids here, you will not regret it!!!

Everytime we go to the beach we check out the arcades. Before we spend $100 on games we check out what's available, to ensure they are in good working order and something we feel our young kids are capable of playing. However, upon enter this establishment, we were harassed with a youngish guy saying repeatedly "you have to have tokens", getting increasingly more aggressive each time. We just thought he meant in order to PLAY the games, not in order to LOOK at the games. After not even two minutes of being

This is a fantastic place for competitive couples or families to hang out. Whether it be air hockey, pop-a-shot, skee ball, etc., the arcade is fantastic place to have an amazing time with a great bang for your buck. Seeing your partner hit 10,000 on skee ball or watching your little one's face light up as they score in air hockey is something you will look back and remember as you reflect on your vacation. I highly recommend spending the $100 on credits (by far the best deal) grabbing a beer and enjoying t

My kids now refer to this place as ?the arcade of doom?. The employees are downright scary. My 4 year old son said that the man made his heart nervous!! So sad. Basically the same story as the others about the mask policy, etc. We witnessed the older gentleman manhandling a teenage girl without a mask and holding a shirt over her face and escorting her out!! Her family was trying to get their younger children out of there and they were not allowed in!! I'm not sure how they are still in business.

The reviews must be from the owners and their friends. Because this arcade is very low end, with only around 53 games. I have a 11 and a 8 year old and they both was very disappointed. And it is very hard to disappoint my two kids with any kind of arcade games.

Similar story others have shared regarding our child who is under 2. As we walked in (all wearing masks minus our 22 month old), the cashier/clerk told us she needed to wear a mask or be locked in a stroller. My wife tried to explain that according to the CDC and WHO that 2 and under should not wear a mask as it is a chocking hazard but before she could, he cut her off and asked us to leave. We are not ?anti-maskers? but this cashier/clerk was simply rude. Additionally, we have not been anywhere else th

Tried to take my my two young daughters here. I was told they had to have mask on, even though you can go right on the pinellas County website where they have the mandate, which to be clear is completely different than a law, and it says clear as day children under 18 DO NOT have to wear mask and it's at the parents discretion. That's okay we went down the street to the Treasure Island Fun Center where the owners understand the mandates and were okay with children not having face coverings that do absolut

We've been coming here during Spring Break for years with our three kids. As the little one's say, "It's a tradition!". Good vibes...everyone is fully masked. Cheap domestic and imports we take outside and enjoy on the boardwalk as the little ones have a blast collecting tickets and prizes. ??????

Worker here was very unprofessional. Very rude over a simple question. Never ever will I go here again. I only asked why alcohol was served here if we could not consume them here. And only outside. Before you all think why am I drinking at a family/ kids place. I have an older child watching the younger child while the adults have a little drink. Well the worker just stared at me like I was stupid which really made me feel unwelcoming. Just plain rude and disrespectful.

We love to visit every time we are in town! The staff is awesome, the games are kept in perfect condition and there's a great variety! I can't say enough good things about this arcade. Be sure to check it out!!

Great arcade hope they stay in business a long time. The mask mandate makes me feel more comfortable about going here. I am autistic and worried about getting the virus and the masks protect everyone. Everyone should just listen to directions and where a mask so the virus numbers can go down.

We absolutely love coming to the Beach Arcade. We have come here weekly with our son for 3 years now. Best kept secret for kids and adults in Johns Pass. Laid back family friendly fun!!! Love this place and the owners!!!

Horrible experience! We had only been there for maybe 5 minutes and my son was trying to decide if there were any games he would like to play. I sat down at a table while he was looking around. The attendant came up and very rudely said to me "you cant just hang out here..you have to buy tokens". I said fine, we will leave then! Like yeah..hanging out at the arcade was my first choice of venues at John's Pass! I noticed some other families walk out after being harassed as well. I would not waste your t

The man working there said our infant child had to wear a mask even though children under two are not allowed to wear masks. She is not even allowed to wear a mask at her doctors office because children under two can suffocate. He would not hear about it and was rude and completely unprofessional and overall just a nasty old man. Will never return to that arcade. Horrible experience that really irritated me the rest of the day. Educate your staff!

Would leave 0 stars if I could. We came in as a group of 5 with ALL of us wearing a mask except my ONE year old. The man behind the counter told us she couldn't come in unless we put a mask on her. I pointed out that she was only one and every mask mandate that has been out always stated 2 and above. He rudely said she can walk so she can wear one and still refused to allow us in.

I visited this arcade about a week ago with my friend and two sisters. We looked around the arcade to check out the games so we knew what we could play before buying tokens. While we were looking at the games, an employee came up to us and told us that we had to buy tokens before looking at games, although we were in no one's way and weren't harming anyone's experience in the arcade. After I nicely asked if we could look at the games first, she called us imbeciles, and kicked us out of the store. After we

From the moment I walked in with my 9yr son. I had the depressed guy by the register hawk me about buying tokens. I mention would you mind if I can look of the selection to choose from. Very small place so I text my other two children to head to the place. While waiting about 90 seconds of walking in the same dope approach me and my 9yr son and said no loitering. We were in the place a total of 90 seconds. I wouldn't recommend this place to no one. What a joke. Too, depressed. While in treasure island I sta

What a great time! ?? Thank you to the man who was so nice to my daughter making her feel special!

Great family friendly arcade! Fun place for locals or visitors! Newly remodeled and very wide open and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Wide array of games and also has adult beverages. Highly recommend!

I had a very disturbing experience walking into the arcade with my young children. This very ignorant and unpleasant young man had the audacity to say to me that we couldn't enter the arcade unless we were buying tokens. The fact that I was a woman of color made it even more disturbing. Why? Because nowhere in the world is it ever a policy that you can't check out an environment unless you're buying something. I will be blogging about this experience and talking to the owner. Good customer service goes alon

Horrible experience. The person at the counter who stated he was the owner said a member of our group that is unable to wear a mask due to being disabled still had to wear one. When asked again if this was correct and if he understood he was discriminating towards disabled his response was to get out and refused to provide his name. Well here it is for future reference I am sure I am not the last person that will need it Frances.

My family and I had a wonderful experience at the arcade. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The games were a lot of fun. I would definitely refer my friends to go here for a good time!

We chanced on this place for the first time in 2015. It's almost hidden on the second floor of John's Pass, but I tell you, this place is akin to buried treasure. It has been the highlight of our Treasure Island trip for two years now, and we will be making sure to return annually for every vacation. The staff is super friendly and accommodating - they stayed open late for us so we could spend all our tokens and finish our drinks, and never once made us feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing them. Tin

It's just ok. Perfect of you have younger kids maybe 5-10, buy not enough to keep teenage boys entertained. We were in town for 5 days and it was only open 2 of the 5. For what you spend in there you might as well go to the beach and have fun for FREE.

Games fun pricing good just the staff was trash did not get their names but the guy at counter had a man bun not saying anything bad if that's the way you swing good for you and the manager I guess had to come over from the restaurant next door and he could not resolve my issue even when the man bun said he lied to me but it's cool hopefully no one else has any issues here

This is one of our favorite places to stop while in Madeira for our kids. Good for all ages. Even games for my five year old. The staff were very patient at the counter when my kids were deciding what to get with their tickets. Will be back next year.

Was asked to leave despite properly wearing my face covering. The owner also wants to literally suffocate children under the age of 2 by forcing them to wear a mask. What they're asking might actually be illegal. Not surprisingly, the arcade was completely dead on a Saturday night. Will be surprised if this business is still here in a few months.

Best Arcade place I ever have! So much fun and it was a blast!

Lady who claimed to be owner was extremely rude to our large group of very small children. Not a family friendly environment, chose not to spend money there and I hope you do the same! There is another arcade within walking distance.

Love this arcade, extremely happy over the new addition of Sound Voltex Heavenly Haven. I already loved this place for having Beatmania and DDR, and this really put the icing on the cake. Only other place I could play SV was in New York. Only complaint is a staff member being very rude on multiple visits in the past, which I don't appreciate being someone who has come to this arcade multiple times and spent plenty of money and hours in the establishment.

Gotta redo our review. My 4yr old desperately needed to use the bathroom and we've used it before. We were told due to covid we couldn't. We've used it during covid before. Please take into account the nearest bathroom is downstairs and across a busy street. We spend decent money here twice a month for the last year and a half. That's over.

Many one star reviews from anti-mask derpublicans, pay no mind. We had a wonderful time and the gentleman operating the front desk was very amiable. Great destination to take a break from the heat!

Can't say enough about the wonderful staff. Had a great experience with my 12 year old daughter. Would give it a five star but found it a bit pricey and the prizes a bit cheap. Would still definitely recommend and go back.

This place was absolutely lovely. The atmosphere is great. It really captures that beach town vibes. The staff here is just amazing. You can tell the staff cares greatly for the arcade and the customer experience.

We have been coming to Beach Fun and Games every year for years! Great arcade. Owner and employees are very friendly and helpful. Games are well maintained, prize selection is good. Has rhythm games...DDR, Beatmania IIDX, and Sound Voltex!

Terrible experience my son and daughter ask for help because 2 machines were broken wich I guess that is a trick to stole money from custumers I don't know ??????? , they weren't able to help them until the Lion Mom came to talk directly to them. My husband spend more then $30 dollars here for what ? ... My son: Please can I get help I put 3 coins in the machine and it is not working.. Female employee: I'm in the middle of something go ask the guy.. Me thinking ?? what guy there wasn't anyone in the

This place is great. They have plenty of games. Some of the games dispense tickest for you to be able to go to the prize counter and pick your prize. Its a Great time for the kids and the kids at heart. It is clean and well maintained. Thanks for the fun. Ill be back.

Small arcade with beer and snacks. Tickets for prizes. Some interesting games I've not seen often (Star Trek Voyager the Arcade Game for one). Clean well kept, and friendly staff.

Went thir in father's day, old games, it's hot thir ac wasnt working or somthing! All machines take 3 to 4 tokens, no thanks! The guy at the counter was wanting my debit card before I could see wat games they had! No thanks no buyn 20.00$ in tokens for old games and machines with blurry screens!

Fun and friendly. My family and I go back every time we are in Florida. Probably the cleanest arcade i have ever been too. My family and I highly recommend a visit when you are in the Johns Pass area.

I try to walk in to find my son, and get yelled at for not having a mask, 1st of almost NOT a Law! 2nd of all they lifted the mask mandate, so technically I dont have to wear one! The 2 people behind the counter . ( man & female) were not very nice, justvyelled at me, as I was trying to explain that I was looking for my son!

Great arcade. Staff was very friendly and made sure everyone was wearing a mask! I felt safe and had a great time. Would recommend this place to everyone!

Very safe and clean, place. Friendly, Fun please. Very fun, and caring people. Follows all safety guidelines, to much sure everyone is safe, while having a good time as well. Thanks we.will be back with the kiddos..

I walked in to see what games they had cuz my grandson wanted to play a shooting game and I went in to look for it and the guy running the place gave me the third degree (like I was a thief) about what I was doing and I told him I wanted to look around and he said I give u a little bit to look so I said never mind I'll just leave. YOU SHOULD GO SPEND YOUR MONEY SOME WHERE ELSE THEY ARE NOT WORTH YOUR TIME OUR MONEY.

This place is awesome. One of the only places in Florida you'll find Beatmania IIDX 24: Sinobuz and it's networked for e-amuse. DDR Supernova 2 is here also with some of the best pads I've played on. Beer and wine is available on site and their sister store Beach Bites Cafe serves some of the best food I've had at the Pass. Get in here! Edit: as of March 2019 this is the only place I know of in Florida (for sure in the Tampa Bay area) that has a Sound Voltex machine! Worth the trip for that alone. This is

I have an amazing time whenever I go. Get a few Jackpots on some of the games, add another high score to the Nerf game in the corner, and have fun in general. I love it there!

This place is great. The owner is super friendly and the place is well run and tons of fun. We will definitely come back again and play more games.

Kids loved it had a lot of games tokens are reasonable price kids had a great time and won lots of prizes for just 10$ and Icecream right up the street in walking distance very nice loved it glad we went

A wonderful and absolutely fabulous place to go on a date or just to have some fun. There's tons of games to play with great prices and there's even beer! I love this place and will continue to go back.

Great place to have fun! And unbelievably low prices! We definitely will be back!

Had such a blast here! So many old and new arcade games to play! Great opportunity to win tickets and fun prizes!!! Totally recommend

Super clean arcade with friendly and engaging staff! Games are regularly sanitized. They even have beer, but it's not bar-ish. Good times.

Not a great selection of games but good for 30 minutes with young kids

I absolutely love arcades and I'm glad I found this one. Booze and skeeball, really what else could you ask for? Thanks to the staff for making me feel welcome, appreciate it!

Great arcade! Owners are friendly and while they are small they have interesting and fun games. Always great to be here.

I love your games and the frog game is my favorite. You are the best arcade ever you have a fair way and a good price to you are nice and you deserve a 1000 star rating.

Decent arcade near the boardwalk. Good olace to take kids for awhile.

This arcade was a blast with fun employees ! A great place to stop and play some games, if you're lucky you may even win a sweet prize!

Small arcade with typical arcade games. They use tokens fyi. Owner (i guess it was) was really really nice (older guy & helped us pick out our prize)!

Fun place to stop and play games on John's pass. We have visited many times and always have a great time. Nice selection of games for kids and adults.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
