Cool spot. Brought back a lot of memories. Being able to buy beer is an added plus, although I couldn't take advantage that trip as I was actually leaving town when I stopped in. Brandon has done a great job with the layout, and all machines are in top working order. AND they cost the same to play as they did back in the day! Only negative is it will make you feel your age when you realize you're no longer as good as you once were, ??. Stop in, grab a beer, and drop some quarters for some serious old schoo
We had a good time! There were so many retro games to choose from, such as pinball machines, Pac-Man, an Atari motorcycle, and so much more. The tickets and prizes are cute and exciting for the kids, as with any other arcade joint. The MINI GOLF was so adorable, and we made it through in good time. My only recommendation with the MINI GOLF is that they might get more business there if they charged $5 or $6 instead of $8 per person. But overall, we had a good time!
Games games games and a pool table.so much fun. Give my kids $20 a piece and it went a long way. I think I spent a total of 60$ in 2, 3 hrs vs going to that other place where as soon as u walk through the door 100$ gone.
I had Brandon and Candace re cover my pool table and did an amazing job. Very reasonable price as well. Both are down to earth and are more like friends. Definitely recommend them anytime.
This arcade is the best place for kids & you don't have to spend a lot to have fun . Let's not forget the customer service here because these employees actually enjoy their jobs and are always so nice . Went on Christmas Eve we had the place to ourselves and the young lady working was beyond helpful & so sweet , this kind of thing doesn't happen much anymore so when it does it deserves praise! See you again soon .
Man, what a cool little place. Tons of games that are only a quarter and hardly anything is over .75. They are cash only with an ATM, but I recommend pulling some cash from your own bank first. The kids had a great time and we will definitely make this a rainy day trip when we are here next!
Enjoyed spending a couple hours playing at the arcade with my 3 yr old and 12 yr old. Games for all ages; from vintage pinball games to Pacman/Galaga to 3D Shooter /Driving games to Airhockey/Pool and more. Made our staycation outing even more fun!
Super Rad 70's-80's arcade. Fun for the whole family. Super Mario, Dig Dug, Galaga, Defender and many more.
I absolutely love this place! Great people and great games! It is certainly something Carteret County needed. Thanks to the Bar Manager for making my day and week so much better because I have been down for a little while due to my own job and she instantly brought it back up.
My kids love this place. Weve attended 2 birthday parties here and both times had a great time. Staff is friendly and helpful when needed.
My handsome boyfriend invited me to play with the arcade games, we had so much fun and we didn't spend a lot, I recommend it!
Fun place to take the kids. Kinda cool introducing them to the arcade stuff I did in the early 90s. Surprised the place isn't packed late night!! That's what the "big kids" want. I mean you got a tap with good choices and a bunch of great old school pinball and racing games. I prolly have more fun than the boys when we go ??
Great place for kids of all ages! There are many different kinds of games as well as tickets to be won! The only thing I have negative to say is that it gets pretty warm while running around!
Classic style arcade with many legacy games around. Games still use quarters and cost per play for most games is 50 cents to a dollar. Ticket based games for kids as well as a small mini golf course. Several games were in disrepair or completely non-functional. Pinball games sometimes didn't respond to quarters but the attendant was quick to provide refunds.
The employees at the Morehead City location make coming here worth it. They are dealing with keeping games older than most of the adults attending running smoothly, serving beer, fixing ticket counting machines, giving out prizes to children, and various other tasks necessary to keep the place running smoothly. They do all of this while making the children feel special, parents feel attended to, and with a smile on their face. It's unbelievable. Not only is this place fun, and a massive nostalgia trip, it's
Staff is great. Great value! Cheap family fun.
Great place for the family! You can have a birthday party here for free, 25$ deposit only that you get back. Loved it.
It's a pretty nice place. Good variety of games, and the bar is decent. Some of the machines ate our coins, which was a slight annoyance, but BB's is an overall cool place. A group of college kids who absolutely reeked like marijuana ended up making us leave early. Seriously, they stunk up the whole place, but I understand that's not the fault of the staff.
We had absolutely the best time ever. The assistant manager was wonderful and helpful. I had no clue what to do. It has been years since I've been in an arcade. WOW!!! The vintage games were so awesome. My young son thought it was such a cool like Stranger Things Vibe being in there. We absolutely will frequent this magical place. We more than highly recommend this place. Thank you BB's for giving us a place to make wonderful memories.
Yes, it's fashioned after the classic arcade style from the 80's and 90's. It's packed with older games, but that still is loved by young and old today. I do have to cover the fact that this is not just a kids arcade, they have a small bar to buy beer inside, but it doesn't appear to be a sit down bar type place. It is an old fashioned arcade that just happens to have beer is what it would identify as. The prices for most of the games are still at a quarter, and that's nice. It offers one pool table and a f
My 8-year-old and I absolutely love this place! It is a great family fun place and the games are not overly expensive like at some places! We have fun every time we go ...update.... My 8-year-old is now almost 10 and we still go regularly! The games change now and then due to bringing new games in but we usually don't mind, it keeps things from becoming toooo boring! Would still recommend this place to everyone! Oh! They also have a little bar in the back now! No "real" food but it's extremely cool to h
Awesome place has some great classics games and some great pinballs can't wait to go back. If you grew up in the 80s it's a true arcade
We come here from time to time and the kids absolutely love it. Not going to lie, I like it too as it brings back the old days at the circle playing Tekken 2. ??. Definitely worth coming. The prices are PERFECT for EVERYONE... HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Absolutely love the arcade. True and authentic arcade. The staff is the best for sure had fun both playing games and talking with the staff. Wall of pinball machines true 80s and 90s games. Pool table and ski ball games. Will definitely be back in next couple days. Thanks for all the fun and will definitely make point to be back any chance I get.
Went back down to Flashbacks today. They use to have great vintage games and now they just have old cabinets with new digital screens and new updated boards and junk versions of the games. Basically Arcade 1ups loaded in old cabinets. Disappointed. Flashbacks has sold out and Flashed Forward. Don't waste your quarters. We won't be back.
Such a cute retro place! I love the style of the inside and outside which makes the place very unique from other places! Tons of games and things you could do over there! Makes me feel like I'm in a place in like 2009! Definitely would come back here!
First time EVER I have hit a jackpot on the 1st try!!! We took my son out after dinner for his bday and had so much fun! We love this place for pool and air hockey. Plus we can take turns beating each other on the arcade games!!!
Had a great time with my girls! This place is fantastic; lots of family fun for a really low price! And they do Birthday Parties for free! For moms and dads it's like stepping back in time to your childhood. Will definitely go back!
We had my sons 10th birthday party here! The employees are so very nice, and the kiddos had a complete blast! The games are affordable and the prizes are great! We love coming here!
An actual quarter arcade with so many pinball machines. The prizes are pretty great great a big variety! The owner was very kind and willing to help with any concerns. Spent a couple hours and like $50, walked out with bags of stuff and a happy family.
Took the wife and kids here over the weekend, and we had a grand old time. Great old time games and kid friendly stuff, and your quarter goes a lot further than at other nearby arcade places (rhymes with Whack Baddy's). It's nice for families with smaller kids too, as it's not too huge, so you can easily keep track of your kids if you have some rambunctious ones like I do.
This is the only arcade in Morehead City and is absolutely worth a visit. My husband and I had a blast playing their games and pinball tables; we were delighted that they have a sit-down Pole Position. There are precious few indoor activities for families in this area so I was really happy when Flashbax opened and I hope for their continued success.
This place is awesome. Old-school 80s pinball machines plus tons of other arcade games for all ages. I took my two boys here and had a blast with just 20 bucks. Highly recommend.
BB restored our very beat up and broken 1979 Gottlieb Count Down pinball machine. Looks amazing and runs perfectly now.
Fun times for the kiddos, takes quarters so no random tokens needed. Staff was friendly and great about getting parents to keep kids in line vs. free rein of terror, a little dark, but was fine for kids. Fun and cheap games for all of us. Will visit again!
Fantastic place for kids and 80s nostalgia. It IS loud so if you are a parent with a bunch of kids you may want to use earbuds, ?? Game cabinets are all in amazing condition, lots of styles represented. Only regret is there aren't more!
Definitely lots of games to choose from and a good time. They did not have very many employees was one of the problems I noticed. Also, the employees weren't super friendly/nice as I'd expect in a kids environment.. another thing I would suggest is just turn the volume down on the games and play some background music. Another thing I noticed is the germs! I could care less because I'm the rebel that won't wear a mask anyways but in the 2 hours I was there, none of the machines were cleaned or sanitized. Abo
We stumbled upon this arcade by simply driving by. We were in town to celebrate my son?s 4th birthday and this place did not disappoint. He thoroughly enjoyed himself as did my husband with the old school gems. The games were not overpriced neither!
We love this little arcade. Love that they are quarter machines. The staff is super friendly. Love going on days when they are not busy. Love that they have more room in their new location. Highly recommend if you like old school arcades.
I bought a 1971 shuffle alley from Brandon. He delivered it and spent a few hours adjusting the components. He was diligent and wouldn't leave until it was working properly. He also was able to repair a mid 70's pinball machine and a mid 80's shuffle alley. He knows what he is doing and his fees are reasonable. Highly recommend.
Brandon was awesome! He fixed our 2 pinball machines right away. He definitely knows his stuff. I am so glad we have someone like this in our area. His arcade is also very fun, and a great place for everyone of all ages. Thank you Brandon!
We had a birthday party for our son at the arcade. We had an amazing time. There is a wide variety of games. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended! Thanks to BB's Amusement for the great time.
WE had a Birthday Party there for my granddaughter and her friends and family. They had a absolute ball. You bring your cake or cupcakes whatever and just let them go have fun. No need to worry.
Brandon came to our home to service 2 pinball machines and a slot machine. He was prompt, very courteous, and an outstanding game technician. He even took the time to talk with my interested husband about the electro-mechanical details. Rates were very reasonable and my games are working like new. Thank you, BB!!
Brandon repaired my 1973 King Pin pinball machine. He went through and replaced and repaired everything it needed. He did an excellent job and his wife did a wonderful job on painting the machine. The service was quick. He kept me informed on the work he was doing. Very happy with the service and the price. Irecommenhservice
OMG...I feel like a kid. I haven't seen a lot of these games since I played them as a kid. If you want some retro games, this is the place. Centipede, Area 51, Space Invaders, Super Mario Bros, Galaga, Defender, and Pole Position to name a few. Several pinball machines and some skee ball. All work on quarters, just like the old days.
This place will definitely make you feel like a kid again. The fun and memories. Flashback arcade is exactly that. Most definitely a flashback.
Brandon did a great repair job on my vintage Terminator pinball machine. Showed up at the house with spare control boards if needed (I did). Tried to solder and repair the existing one that had been jacked up by an earlier owner 20 years earlier. He definitely knows pinball machines inside and out. He stayed until it was working flawlessly.
I love pinball and these classic machines are perfectly maintained. Nostalgic for me but it's really cool seeing young families having fun with their kids. Staff is super attentive and friendly. Recommend highly.
My kid loves this place. They have plenty of games for all ages. You can do birthday parties here, which I might do. They have ticket games and a counter of prizes to exchange for. They sell popcorn and drinks to. Plus it's right next to loannis grill.
Had an awesome experience and very inexpensive. I just think it would be better if it was darker in there, like the old school arcades. Plus with all the lighting, it puts off a glare on all the screens, not to mention how great the games would glow without being lit up like a library.
Owners restored a 1978 Rock Ola jukebox for us. Mr Bass did a fabulous job...he went above and beyond! The jukebox sounds great and works like a champ!! We highly recommend him for any such work. Thank you so much. Richard and Jan
Old skool arcade with all the best oldies. My kiddos loved it and for me it was nostalgic. Highly recommend.
Wow, they have a lot of fun games to play, some older and some modern. Driving games, shooting games, air hockey, pool table, video games, ETC. The staff are Friendly and helpful. Fun place to hang out and have fun.
This was our 3rd time here in a week. The 1st was for a birthday party and the other 2 were a reward for my 3 1/2 year old daughter. Its perfect she knows her limit is the quarter's and she had previously earned them for a chore that she did.
Really nice place to go to play some easy going games (pinball, crane games) and some ticket earning games (spider stomp). They have sodas and chips and pop corn and do free birthdays. This town has been needing a place like this for over a decade time.
My wife and I had a ball. We we're board and she suggested maybe an arcade. I googled and found this place. Loved the pinball machines and even found some ole Pac-Man , centipede, and Galaga games. Will return.
So fun! Hard to find for some people, but we had a birthday party there and it is free! They are very helpful and the games are so cool! Quite the variety and space.
Took my son there for the 1st time last week....had an awesome sauce time!!! Most of the games are only .25! My son had so fun. An Candace that runs it is so nice!!
Great place for kids and adults alike! Amazing vintage feel that will bring you back to your childhood! It is an actual quarter arcade with a ticket booth for prizes.
Nostalgia is at FLASHBAX in full effect, 80's music too. Great pinball & classics, Frogger & Galaga for example, tons of ticket dispense skill games for younger kids, too. Glad to have somewhere to entertain kids in mhc.
Cool place I'm a local so I go there a lot. But I think it needs just a few newer games. Ofc I love what they have going on right now but I would love something the the newer Jurrasic World game.
Great time here! They have old school games and newer ones. They also double tickets during happy hour. Only request would be they need better prize selection.
My son was so happy that I took him there! He had the best time playing games. We've been 3 times, so far.
GREAT PLACE!!! Had games for all ages most places dont think about kids 5 and under but they had a great selection for them as well as game for me to play. Highly highly recommend.
I enjoy playing pinball. There are only four machines there but they were all just .25 per play and five balls per game. They also were clean and in top working order.
My partner and I had a really good time here!!! Just some fun with my other half and seeing who can win more quarters!!! Lol!!!
Will definitely return this little place has all the great games I grew up with I'm glad places like this still exist if you want old arcade games for you and the family to enjoy with real quarter games then stop here you won't regret it!!!
My daughter loved this place it's nice to have somewhere to take her locally! And my husband seemed to love it also. Friendly staff I hope it stays around for a long time
Small but a nice place to take the kids just to get out of the house. The games are like .25 to .50. The staff was really friendly
We all had a great time. Super affordable for a couple hours of family fun time. Staff were friendly and helpful. See ya again soon!!!!
A wide variety of classic video games, good beer selection, and friendly staff!
Wow. Original games at original prices. A quarter! Very fun place to go. Our whole family had a great time.
Love love love this place!! The staff is always very helpful and the games are amazing!! Took me back to my childhood!
Me and my siblings had a BLAST!!!! The staff was super friendly and there was something for all of us to do at ages 6, 10, and 20!
Me and my friend come here every weekend, we love! The staff is so friendly and the games are always fixed quick! 5/5!
Very fun place to go if you're interested in arcade games and the history of them.
Really enjoyed time, they have really good games and you can get a lot of tickets just by playing one game!
Location is small, but it isn't bad for the old school arcade feel.
Family had a BLAST!!
Games eat your money one game and then work the next try. Tickets don't always come out when they are supposed to. Some of the games are broken.
Very cool atmosphere and a really good decent amount of older games highly recommend for locals and tourists ?
Had a lot of fun, very nice atmosphere, definitely was a blast from the past tonight. I will definitely be back again:)
Repaired a slot machine. Brandon kept me informed thru the whole process. Great place to deal with. Would use them again any time .
Lots of fun for our family. We have been the past two weekends and love the atmosphere.
Attended a birthday party there this evening...the kids had a great time!! As did the adults who came with their children.
This place was amazing. Very nice people and amazing service. I would deff come back. Best place to have a birthday party !
Favorite quick stop in for us and our kiddos. Staff is super nice, too.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
