Barcadia Dallas

Barcadia Dallas

Reviews Summary

Overall, Barcadia Dallas is a fun, lively spot with a mix of arcade games, good drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere. Many praise the friendly staff, tasty food (especially burgers and brunch), and reasonable game prices. However, some criticize inconsistent service, high drink prices, and occasional overcrowding. A few negative reviews mention dress code issues, hidden gratuity, and abrupt closing times. While most enjoy the diverse crowd and games, others feel it lacks a clear identity or sufficient arcade options. The patio and live music are highlights, but parking can be challenging. Mixed but generally positive.

I went to this bar late at night with a few friends and we were looking for fun and good drinks. Now I have a service dog. He is very well trained and medically prescribed so he goes with me everywhere. Me and my friends go to this bar and I was immediately denied entry by the bouncer saying that I could go in but I had to stay on the patio because of ?the dog?. My service dog is wearing a vest that blatantly says SERVICE ANIMAL DO NOT PET. I am astonished at this point so I tell them that he should be allo

Old school meets new school at Barcadia. From Gen Z, to Baby Boomers, all can be found having a great time, and lively conversations here. Definitely in need of a revamp, which I hear is coming soon, however it will maintain its original charm, with a few upscale perks. Although smaller than some other arcade spots in town the affordable games, food and cocktails along with live music on certain nights makes it an excellent option. If you're an outdoor person they offer seating for you as well. Dallas

Awesome spot to hang out on a nice day. They have arcade games inside if you can't be out on the patio! Business seems slow because of the road construction so go show them some love!

Fool me once..... watch out and read your check carefully! Ordered drinks at the bar, 25% Auto Gratuity applied to check and of course there's an additional tip line....so they got a 50% tip out of me in the end. Hope you enjoy it. I will not be returning.

We didn't try any food or drinks here but we did pop in for some classic arcade games and had a blast! The vibe & atmosphere was perfect for a Friday night, I had a ton of fun, and would love to visit again to try out their themed cocktails and of course, to play more Mario Kart, Guitar Hero and Pac Man!

Barcadia used to be a fun, laid-back spot to grab food, drinks, and play games with friends during the day, but the vibe completely changed at night. What was once a casual hangout has turned into a sketchy scene with bartenders barely dressed in lingerie, heavy security presence, and an overall uncomfortable atmosphere. If you're looking for a daytime arcade bar experience, it might still be worth a visit, but after dark, it feels more like a nightclub with a questionable crowd. Definitely not the same han

Cool spot to drink and hang. Not a lot of arcade games if that's what you're looking for. Would definitely come again, but wouldn't be expecting a full arcade.

Pretty cool bar with arcade games. We only got two items to eat, but both were pretty good. Meatball sliders and chicken skewers with scallions. All orders for food and drinks had to go through the bartender. There is seating inside and outside. Wish they had more arcade games, but was happy to play skeeball!!

If you're looking for a spot that combines great drinks, delicious food, and nostalgic arcade games, Barcadia Dallas is the place to be! This one of a kind dive bar offers an unbeatable atmosphere with a mix of vintage arcade games, skeeball, and even life-size Jenga on the patio.

Never thought much of this place until walking in by accident! The vintage arcade games are a must! Keep the tab open while you wait to use the machines because you'll finish your drink before you are able to have a turn playing. Be sure to bring all your spare quarters ahead of time as you will need them all. Believe me!

I guess they didn't have cucumbers since the food nor the drink I ordered that's supposed to come with cucumbers had none. Then the battens act like she had an attitude because I asked about the muddled cucumbers and why my drink taste like Sierra mist. The games were fun tho.

I loved this place before the remodel but now definitely love it more. The place is revamped with a cool vibe, a fresh paint job, more selections for drinks and food. It feels not only like a bar but a place to go for not only drinks but a fun time which now includes awesome food. I had an amazing mojito that was so tasty I might have had two more. Maybe?!? No definitely

Pearl was a rude bartender , she was absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had , and I've worked in the entertainment industry for 10+ years. Stephen however was AN ABSOLUTE pleasure to communicate with and make my Drinks . He was friendly & really nice

Great service.Food was cool! I would love to see a better game selection?.maybe Ms Pac-Man, Street Fighter or (Mortal Combat), Centipede?just a suggestion! Overall we had a great time and there was a nice crowd!

Very fun place to be. Live band on Sunday nights. Awesome experience.

I made a business trip to Dallas for hearings at the county courthouse, and my best friend from high school brought me to Barcadia after dinner. It was fun! We had a couple drinks, played some games, and talked business. So much fun. I definitely recommend the place if you're looking for a good time. The beer selection is great!

Cool music and decor. I loved to be able to play arcades and pool while not being on a pub. Please Don't miss the chilli cheese fries!

Bartender made a delicious Bloody Mary to start off brunch then had a double breakfast with an omelette and French toast. Both were unlike anything I have had before yet still perfect renditions of classic dishes. Compliments to the chef. ??

It was decent. Definitely small, and more bar than arcade; but I had a good time there. Very few games, but all the games are hits. Not a bad place to stop by if you are already in the neighborhood.

Bar arcade. Good place to get a beer or a mixed drink. Was tempted to play games, but had a pizza to go pick up. Next time.

Fun atmosphere. Great food for a small bar. The service is great! They also have a great selection of games. I go here with friends often.

No pinball machine? totally outrageous. Can't believe you call yourself an arcade without the classic pinball machine? disgrace

Good constant for bars in the area and the bartenders are always nice. Haven't had their brunch, but I've been there many times for drinks and the Stephy's Unicorn is delicious!

Really great food! New special on Mondays for $15.99 that includes steak, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and saut?ed brussel sprouts.

Really friendly bar tenders! The games cost 25 cents to a dollar and were fun to play. Good hang out spot. Will have try the food next time.

Bartenders could use an attitude adjustment, grumpy and would give very short answers about their drinks. Asked about an Old Fashioned and she handed us a pre mixed bottle. We asked questions about this and she was just annoyed with us.

I had my bachelorette party here and it was so much fun! The atmosphere is amazing and the bar tenders were so so so nice. I enjoyed the games too! My friends and I had a blast. I'd recommend this place over and over!

Awesome atmosphere. Had all the games playing on Saturday. No cover charge with great prices. Service was great with good vibes.

The food is great. Patio is nice for hanging out with friends. Have dj most week nights. Great place to hang out with the friends. Have steak night on Monday thats amazing and free arcade games on Tuesdays.

Catch the games here Bar opens up to the patio. Friendly service Perla is on top of things plenty of amusement games and the only bar in the vicinity that has not only got one pool tables but two...Come check it out alot of new things going on there.

Its a decent place to hangout with friends. It can get crowded inside and they have few fun games to play with friends. If your playing pool you will bump into few people every shot. Not a bad place to gather tho

We had a great time. The owners brother talked us into coming to check it out && it was def worth trying. We had chips with salsa && queso, also boneless wings. They were all really good. Bartenders were quick, drinks were perfect. The staff was very attentive to any and all issues. There was broken glass in the restroom, found someone to clean it quick. Its a big kid bar with the best arcade games. Music was And is always bomb

They tried to charge us for 5 drinks we didn't get.

Best burger I've had in a long time! Mark and Kyle were awesome! Highly recommend stopping in!

Barcadia Dallas is a great spot for some casual fun. With a mix of classic arcade games and a lively atmosphere, it's the perfect place to unwind with friends. The variety of games, including pinball and retro video games, ensures there's something for everyone. The bar serves up some tasty drinks, and the staff is friendly. It's not a high-end place, but it's perfect for a relaxed night out.

The bartenders were very friendly! The drinks were kinda pricey and so were the games. But the bar itself has really good drinks and awesome vibes from everyone there!

Neighborhood bar vibes, relaxed, music, games, great food, good drinks.... will definitely go again

Please do not sleep on the burgers, I ate one here and it was probably one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. Nachos were elite as well. The Games were cool too tho, definitely had a good time!! A great place to have a lil date night.

IMO the only two things keeping this place from being a 4 or 5 star spot is the lack of A/C and the 20% automatic gratuity they charge. I liked the beef quesadilla, but the jalapeno chicken flatbread pizza was missing the mark. The bartender was cool and they have enough options when it comes to the games they offer.

They make their drinks just how I like them I got a vodka and cranberry. It was delicious! The bar staff was super friendly so that's a plus. I never really wanted to order food, but I'll probably try something next time. My friends and I had fun here so I'll most likely be back here soon.

Going out with the wife, usually ends up being the "most lavish-AKA pricey", restaurant with a patio I can find... Not tonight my friends. If you enjoy friendly, polite, well groomed...attractive tattooed lady's with a job to do and the know how to do so. Constantly smiling, serving and paying attention. Music, constantly flowing, changing and all around... A patio that not only was comfortable, misters flowing over head (outside temp 81) kept us comfortable all night. Food that was wonderful to taste,

It was okay. I had never been to this place it was cool, the drinks were alright, the food was not so good. The games were fun but there wasn't enough.

Great atmosphere, very average bar experience in terms of service. I don't know if it's just the bartenders or the crowd that makes the bartenders act as if you're annoying them by asking for a drink, but it seems to be an ongoing issue. Crowd tends to be college kids. Games are fun. Parking is definitely a problem, so be attentive or park away and walk over. Have not tried food yet, nor are they known for it.

The drinks were wonderful. They have an arcade and pool table. Great atmosphere. We will be back.

Great food, drinks, and fun atmosphere! Enjoyed the giant Jenga game lol.

Great music! And really lively place here. I love arcade games so that was my main reason for coming here. It is smaller than the one in Fort Worth but it is still an amazing place to hang out with group of friends. Happy playing!

DO NOT TIP. 20% Gratuity is already included if you carefully read the top of your receipt, but they have the standard tip/total fields as well down by the signature. Pretty despicable, which is a shame since they have cool games.

Definitely a fun spot! From the various arcade games, Jenga, and pinball (among others) to the laidback atmosphere- it's just an all-around fun place! It can be crowded on weekends (certain weeknights as well), but for my own tastes, that isn't a negative element. Have always enjoyed the place on each visit!

The games were cool; classic selection. Which unfortunately was the highlight of the place. The service was terrible (I'm looking at you blonde bartender who yelled at me and my friends because our tips weren't sufficient enough for you), the drinks were really pricey even compared to other pricey and more adequate places, and the interior design looks like it's slapped together. I really wanted to like this place, but it just wasn't enjoyable. If you're wanting a night of fun, drinks, and games you're bett

Unsure if it was the fact that me and my friends were the only black ones there or if there were just making stuff up but we got turned around because I had on a sleeveless shirt. There is nothing on the website about a dress code. And because I'm from out of town I expected better. Won't be trying to go there again on any of my future visits. It's 90+ degrees outside and can't wear a sleeveless shirt is beyond me

Had a lot of fun at this place for a night out. Parking is vallet only on the weekends, but it's only $5. The atmosphere is great and the staff was spectacular. The games were really cool and only 25? apiece. The only downside was the small restrooms which were dirty and out of toilet paper, but I would definitely go back.

Good patio with games and tables. Usually pretty laid back and not too busy to get a drink, but enough people to not feel dead. The food is pretty good, though sometimes a little rich for my tastes, but tasty none the less. Good mix of different types of people, too: not overly hipster or bro-y.

The bad. Over priced drinks. Robotic bartender, as in she had no emotion. Tiny drinks on top of being over priced. Can you even make a double in a 10oz plastic cup?? (Joke.. I know you can) The good. Looked to be a fun atmosphere. Had a dj when we visited Friday, seemed decent. Bouncer was super nice. Under the awning was heated.

The place was very fun, the staff was friendly and memorable. I came July 3rd 2022 and it was a great way to release my stress Network and hang out with friends. I went to the bar down the street and their drinks was double the price. I came back because this place is the place to be compared to the others.

Pretty good selection of beer. Wait wasn't long at the bar, but its not a great experience unless you're with a group. Really overpriced in my opinion though. I thought it was going to be a pretty chill spot, but they were playing really loud club music the whole time when we went. It was still really loud outside. I feel like they're not sure what kind of joint they are. $5 parking wasn't too bad though

The place was great always a good place to be a big kid. The bar has arcade games lined up along the walls of the place including skee ball, air hockey and a pool table. Now, if you don't want to enjoy the pleasure of your childhood you can always sit and drink on the patio or inside great place to be a kid again

This place was a cool lil spot to chill, have some old skool arcade/game fun & have a drink. Most of the games are free which is awesome, theres a few u have to pay to play, but the old fun 1s (aka the best 1s) are free (yay). Galaga was lil glitchy looking but still played it & had fun, did not eat here but the Mac n' cheese balls looked bomb

Staff was very friendly. The decor is posh with gritty undertones. It is probably because the arcade machines are all as old as I am. I really thought it had a lot of charm and character. The drinks were reasonable priced. I will be back.

While dining at this restaurant I fell. The tables are too close to a concrete ramp and don't allow patrons to safely get out of their seat. There is no rail to protect the customers or to warn them that the ramp is there. When I got up to order my food (that's apparently what you have to do here) I fell off the outer ledge of the ramp. The employees saw me fall and didn't even offer to help me up or ask if I was okay. They didn't show any concern. I ended up having to go to the hospital and discovered I ha

Very cool place you wouldn't necessarily know was there unless someone told you! I went with a group of friends for a birthday celebration, and it was super fun! The staff was pretty efficient even though the place was packed! Mortal Kombat is probably the best deal as far as the old school arcade games! Only 25 cents! Great place to go to have a fun time!

This is a fun place packed with old arcade games. Definitely make a stop earlier in the week when it is 1) less crowded 2) Drink Specials 3) Free game night. Not that a quarter per play breaks the bank. Entire front opens via large doors to front patio with giant jenga. Fun little find in Lakewood area.

Oh, Barcadia. I've been coming here for years and have watched this place go through many changes, both good and bad. There is always an incredible selection of retro arcade games. The staff is mostly very friendly, I've never had a bad experience with a bartender that actually lasted there. The food is great, especially the loaded fries! Great rotating beer selection. The crowd is hit-or-miss, honestly. Overall, I love this place. Stop by and play some jenga on the patio!

Small, but ideal for what I needed. Food took extremely long. You order at the bar, no waitstaff which is fine the bartenders were nice. Game cards are needed to play the games.

Fried pickles were delicious met the owner he was awesome spent 10 hours here easily

Atmosphere was good. Music was at a loud volume. Drinks a little pricey. Some bartenders demanded tips, which a bartender should never do. Some arcade machines took money, not allowing for players to pay. That needs to be fixed to be called an arcade. Also spacing was a big issue. In arcades they line up the machines back to back, not up against a wall. Other than that, it was fun. Probably will not go back again.

It's a nice upbeat environment. It's small, theres only one pool table, one air hockey table and a handful of actual cabinet games. Those arcade machines will eat up your money. Not because they're addictive, but because they refuse to register the money that they take in. You end up spending a $1.50 on one 50? game just because the machine won't register the credit. Its ridiculous. But if that's not an issue for you then, yeah, its a nice place.

Food is not good, nothing tasted as if it was made in house. Wings have 0 flavor. Smaller than expected but the staff is great. Don't expect more than 10 to 15 old school video games. DJ comes around 10 and parking is 5 bucks.

Great place to hang out, play some reasonably priced games, have a few drinks and watch sporting events. This Saturday was fight night and the bartenders were extremely attentive and quick with everyone?s orders. Burger is the way to go on food

Worst arcade bar I've ever been to.

It's a fun place with fun games and a nice bar. They offer food. However. I'm vegan, and they don't have vegan options.

We have been to another Barcadia in New Orleans and enjoyed ourselves, we had drinks and food. I'm not sure if they are owned by the same people but the atmosphere seemed very similar. The overall vibe and crowd was nice but I find hard to spend $33 on two double drinks. Not only did the price shock us but the drinks were small in size and didn't taste like a double. Cost and drink we just plain disappointing. Our experience in New Orleans was great, average cost and good drinks. Other than that, the bo

The website makes it seem bigger then it actually is. It has like 12 games and 1 pool table. Tried to take a turn on the pool table and was told no because the owner and his friend were playing. The food was good and the bartender was fantastic but the fact the owner was letting his friend hog the only pool table was nuts.

it's a cool place to go but the woman bar tender wouldn't let me back in after someone I was with took his drink outside. I mean he had his drink in his hand while going outside to his car to get the rest of his money. it was an accidental mistake to keep the drink in his hand but you didn't have to kick out our whole group. she suck for that, but other than that it's cool spot

CHECK YOUR ITEMIZED RECEIPTS! Gratuity is added which is completely 10000% fine. However, I was charged for items I did not order and when questioning the charges was basically told I was confused. I'm SI I know how this all works, I knew what I ordered, and this just wasn't cool. Female bartender, always seems to be in a mood whenever I go in. I generally avoid her but she was the only one present when I arrived during the situation above.

The games are great, and cheap. The drinks are reasonably priced (as far as bars go). However, the service could be a little better. The lady with the plugs was incredibly nice but the other bartenders I encountered seemed stress/overwhelmed and their attitude reflected...

One of my favorite bars, I always enjoy my time in there, the moscow mules are just right for my taste. There are lots of games to keep you entertain if you are into that. I personally enjoy playing air hockey in there, so much fun.

This is not a grill. Some of the arcade games.can be fun and nostalgic. The Simpsons mortal combat 2 ski ball basketball. All are very fun but the bar does not have much else to offer. It's fun but I wouldn't make it a destination unless you are.close by.

Pretty cool bar but this place smelled terrible when we came in. Felt like I needed to slip the bartender a 20 to get their attention. Being polite doesn't really matter here. Drink specials weren't bad though.

Had an odd run in with the "owner" last night. Google said they closed at 2 but they ended up closing at 12. Cool no problem. Our group was all service industry so we understand. We got our last round right around 12 then the "owner" came out shortly after and started taking drinks off the table and told us to leave. When we told him we had just received our drinks and needed a couple minutes, he got a bit hostile and threatend to call the police if we didn't leave immediately. Worst experience I've had at

The food is what lands Barcadia on Henderson on the map. The arcade selection was "meh" but the staff were very nice and the happy hour specials (both food and drink) were well worth it. Back to the food: it's definitely at the high end of bar food. It's still bar food, and I wouldn't put them up against a sit-down restaurant, but it's really good bar food. I ordered the mini-cheeseburgers, and *they asked me how I wanted the burgers cooked*. That just doesn't happen at bars, or so I thought; it happe

Really cool idea! I especially liked the giant Jenga out back. My team is still reigning champs, look me up if you think you're worthy. All joking aside this place is a reasonable bar with tons of cool retro video games. Quarter machines back by the bathrooms.

Great beer menu and the disco fries are an absolute must for those drunken munchies. Play some pool, skeeball, and all kinds of classics lining the walls of this dim and divey throwback bar. My only issue is they removed Tempest, which is a favorite of mine. Still a great place to grab a drink while on the crawl.

One of the worst experiences I have had in a bar in a long time. I ordered a margarita pizza and the bartenders put mint on my pizza instead of basil. Then laughed when I complained. Such a weird and harassing experience. I don't recommend females enter this bar. Very intimidating and bullying behavior from staff.

Well I'm definitely not coming back here again. Bartender only gave us 2 minutes before she started complaining that we were taking too long and holding up the bar. Never been told at a bar that I was taking too long to order booze. Also this place has a pretty big menu so it's going to take me longer than two minutes to read the whole menu. Plus it doesn't help to have a pushy bartender in your ear every minute when you are trying to make a selection on their over priced alcohol. Also some of the games wer

Went to have a good time with my friends and the bartender and a guy sitting on a stool that seemed like an owner kept staring at us, judging. Apparently this bar doesn't like people having a good time.

The blonde bartender must be do some favors for the management. She had terrible reviews a while ago and it is well deserved. The worst attitude I have ever gotten from a bartender and the first that I haven't tipped. Run down and terrible service. I will never go back. With good service and some work on the interior it could be a fun place. The drinks were weak and terrible as well.

I went to barcadia on a Sunday night with my wife. We walked inside and saw the games to the left, the bar to the right and tables in the middle. We walked over to the bar and sat down. the bartender served us fast and even gave us samples to try the different beers. He was very friendly. They have free pool table, 3 or 4 shooting games, basketball, 4 player packman, air hokey, a claw machine and they have a juke box that you can play music thru an app you download on your phone. Outside in the patio there

A very cool, chic bar and hangout. Video games, craft and select beers at decent prices, plus live music and dj's on a large shaded patio right off Henderson? Yes, that is this place. Parking can be a challenge, but is well worth it. Clientele is very diverse, from young professionals to service industry, artists and realtors, LGTBQ groups and hipsters galore. Its a very casual, but still stylish place, music is fantastic and the atmosphere is wonderful. Everyone is friendly and having a good time here. Ver

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.

Are rhythm games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, rhythm games in arcades are a vibrant hit in 2025! Titles like Dance Dance Revolution and Beatmania deliver high-energy fun, blending music, movement, and precision. Modern machines boast vivid displays, booming sound systems, and diverse song libraries, from J-pop to EDM. They challenge reflexes and rhythm, with competitive leaderboards and tournaments fostering a lively community. Arcade dance floors are regularly packed, proving rhythm games’ immersive, physical thrill keeps them a standout in today’s gaming scene.
