I was very happy to visit for the first time yesterday. I didnt try any of the food here, so I have not rated it. I did see some burgers roll past that looked pretty good though... The music was a perfect mix of rock, metal and alternative. The bar is a large space and the sound system has that club feel. We had a outstanding time here, chatting with the bartenders and trying different types of beers good times. After having a few beers we went to play arcades mostly the driving games hahaha so much fun. Definitely recommended a visit if you never experienced it before!!

Super cool bar with pinball machines & arcade games. Large selection of beers & cocktails, and we enjoyed our burgers. Bathrooms could do with painting but maybe the graffiti is part of the appeal idk.

The Barcade in Chelsea has always been my favorite location of theirs, because the size of the joint and game selection is excellent. The Discs of Tron cabinet alone keeps me coming back year after year, and then of course there's Joust! I also can't think of many bars or restaurants where the food and snacks started out good and kept getting better, but the Chelsea Barcade has done it. Prefer this location over downtown. Bigger, more open space, and better-maintained in my opinion. We went earlier in the day shortly after they opened, so everything was very clean and in order (including the bathroom). Most arcades token operated...taking 1-2 tokens for most games. Tokens can be purchased from machines throughout the space at 0.25 cents each.. (4/$1, 20/$5...). Service both at the bar and at the arcade area were great. This is one of my favorite places to go to. A nice sized bar and a wide selection of beers to choose from. The games range from your classics to more modern titles. There's enough variety to entertain most people. It can get crowded during peak hours so I like to go in the afternoon before 6 pm on the weekends. Extremely disrespectful bar-tender with me and my friend we clearly didn't want to help Us when we seat the bar for no reason. We got us a couple of drinks ( some Paloma drinks with mezcal) and he didn't event mix them he just pour some juice into the glasses and give it to us when he confronted him about it he got hostile with my husband, I am not sure if he was racism or homophobic, or what but he didn't seem to have any problem with anyone else but us, when I ask the security( a dark skin guy) about it

I had so much fun at this location. Enough room where the crowd isn't over whelming and still had room to enjoy the games. Could definitely make a friend here or there or play with randoms. The pinball machines are so cool; the margs were so good and strong too.

This was a fun place to hangout to play retro arcade games and drink. They have a good amount of games (they have 4 player pacman!) and a large space so you're not crammed. They have a large craft beer selection, and their prices are decent! The food is typical bar food, tastes better after drinking. They have some tables along with bar space, which is nice!

Good retro game selection, most of them have spots in between to set your drink which is very convenient and there are tables spread throughout the space with a good amount of room to seat you and your group. Did not try the food just went for drinks and games.

This place is so fun! We come here pretty often to play games and get a drink. They rotate their taps often which is awesome. The beers can be a bit hit or miss but there's always plenty to try! The food is what you'd expect from a bar like this it's not great but it's not bad. You can play quite a few games for around $5-10 worth of tokens so it's affordable to come play. I'll continue coming back here it's so much fun and a great atmosphere!

Barcade is average priced for NYC, and it's such a fun place! I really enjoyed the games, and the food & drinks were tasty. I had the loaded nachos with pork and a Brooklyn Mule and loved both. My friends enjoyed their food & drinks as well! The staff all seemed friendly, they actually made a mistake with my order at first but were so nice about it and fixed it right away

Always a fun place! I love their arcade machines. They have good drinks too. I've been too St.marks, Chelsea, jersey city, Brooklyn locations and I liked all of them. It's a great place to spend time with your friends. ????

Honestly can't say much regarding the food or drinks because the security guard turned my group away because he demanded a lady in my group to smile for him but she wouldn't entertain him. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful staff.

This is a gem bar. If you like arcades, give it a try. Lots of kinds of draught beer will be waiting for you. They also serve food. A token to play is 0.25$. The games are ok although i was expecting better varieties.

A great spot for retro gaming, beers, and decent food. The chicken waffle sandwich isn't included in their ?15 lunch menu but it's stacked and tasted great. Lost a star for questionable fountain drinks though, far too much syrup going on there!

As an 80s guy, I got sucked into this place with some of my all time favorites. Though I didn't eat, the selection of crafts on tap was impressive and the game selection was a blast.

Got drugged by the bartender with GHB. I was getting drinks while my boyfriend got tokens so he assumed I was alone. I grabbed the drinks off the bar and started sipping, and I was vomiting and passed out within 10 mins. At least 4 other people have said they were drugged at this Barcade too.

Had one of the best experiences here, Scott was amazing as a bartender he helped us celebrate our new accolade and the drinks he made were superb. Thank you Scott and Barcade.

Much larger arcade than expected! Lots of different cabinets to choose from, tables in between to place your drink down safely, pinball machines, japanese minigame machine, and amazing selections of beer that were unexpectedly affordable and delicious. A definite must go, I ended up buying one of their neat King Diamond-esque merch shirts! Honestly I could rant and rave about it for days, just go!

My husband and I had fun time with our cousins on 4th of July. We had drinks and food. Then we were playing video games for 2 hours. It was such a fun day. The place was not that crowded. I had non alcoholic ginger beer which very spicy and sweet and liked it.

Love the games! Pretty good beer selection. The food was good. A little strict with the ID at the door. I had a friend who couldn't get in because his ID expired. Good fun!

First impressions mean everything right? Anyways the security guard who checked my purse gave me hella attitude for no reason. He was being super sarcastic and raised his voice at me. I didn't feel welcomed there. I've never felt such bad vibes from someone who's a "security guard." Someone who's job is to be professional & not rude. He had zero manners and obviously not people friendly. Obviously he should quit if he doesn't like his job & can't even fake a smile nor be welcoming.

If you're into retro arcade games, check out this place. Not much different than other arcade bars I've been to in various other cities but I did like how the high scores were posted on a chalkboard along the back wall. The games run on tokens and there's 2 machines that dispense tokens, about 25 or 50 cents to play. The drinks were fairly inexpensive ($7-9 a pint, $6 a shot) and I didn't try the food but it looked good.

I am really impressed with this place I came in to a warm welcome with a relaxed vibe as if no one is staring at you . I am not much of a drinker but they have a large selection on tap . Had a good time, the chicken wings are pretty good.. I Played Street Fight Alpha 2, TMNT, a racing game, pinball and a few more. Game tokens are cheap too, reminds me of the 90's how you can be in the pizza shop playing games all day with just a few dollars in your pocket. I had a great time here with my partner! Great place to go on a date or with friends! The tokens for the arcade is very cheap and I loved the atmosphere! We sat at the bar for a while and had a great conversation with the bartender (who I sadly forgot his name). Love coming to the barcade! The first time I went to the downtown one and both have their pros. This one is a lot more spacious with group and driving games that we all loved! It's a great way to pass a night! Once we brought outside food and the bouncer was super friendly about telling us to put it away, always a great experience! It does get crowded and rowdy when people are passionate about the games but never in a bad way. I'd recommend their fries, we always order them!

Fun bar with old style arcade games ranging from pinball to classic racing car. Plenty of draft beers available at decent prices. Expect it to be busy but that all creates a great atmosphere. Beers range from $8-$10 and each game play is a quarter dollar. There is a change machine in the corner as you walk in where you can switch up your paper notes to coins. This place is is awesome! They have a lot of the classic arcade games like Mrs Pacman, Daytona USA, Golden Axe, Milepede, and Qbert. They have some newer games too, all in arcade format. You have to buy tokens from a machine instead of rolling up with quarters. They have happy hour, Monday to Friday, from noon until 7pm. The special is $1 off beer (not $1 beer...$1 OFF beer). They also have hot dogs. There is no Game Over at Barcade!

The games are fun and affordable. If you go with friends the Japanese button game gives a lot of bang for your buck. The drinks are over priced but I think it's to make up for the affordable games so I'd say drink before going. You're not allowed to bring drinks inside, they also occasionally check bags. Also bring cash for tokens.

Bartenders are rude. Horrible queens with bad attitudes. Staff act like you owe them something. Games are not as well kept as they used to be.

Great beers and video games. Here for an event... But honestly, I'd come back for one thing alone, their hamburger sliders. They were incredible, to the extent that they are better than most burgers at legit burger joints in the city.

Food was great. Dishwasher was super sweet and gave us free tokens. But 90% of the games were broken! Either joystick didn't work in one direction or button didn't work. Looney tunes pinball would keep the ball. It was super disappointing. Wish we had gone back to the one in the village as it's always well maintained.

We wanted to find a bar that we could casually drink at and stumbled upon barcade. It's a different vibe then most bars but the beers are really good. There are a lot of arcade games to choose from. Great to come with friends or even a date night. If you like IPA I highly recommend the yes farm yes beer one!

Nice bar where you can grab a drink and play a good variety of arcade games with friends. *They check your ID before you can enter. The games all require these tokens to play or u can use quarters. They have exchange machines inside for the tokens in case you dont have any coins. Some of the games required more tokens than the others. Overall, it was a nice place to visit.

Gem of chelsea nightlife, absolute ton of beers on tap and tons of arcade games from known to obscure . Great place to spend a night with friends having a game night like when you were a kid dumping quarters into one with your friends. The wings are also some of the best in the area so do give them a try. All the bar tenders are phenominal and take care of their regualrs.

Great side street bar with a very nice atmosphere, selling all sorts of different beers and ales, it has lots of different retro video arcade machines all over the place, very friendly staff who are prepared to go e you advice on the different beers that they sell, great vibe and definitely recommend if you fancy a drink in new york

The games were fantastic and fun just as i remember growing up. The most unfortunate thing about this place was the service. I highly recommend not starting a tab because they may lose your card or give it to someone else and gaslight you saying they gave it back to you. Luckily my card was given to someone in my party, however as a server you should never hand anyones card to anyone other than them. That 101 basic.

Kids not welcome at this arcade/restaurant! It takes a bit of navigating on their website to find that. But they really expect you to know before stepping foot inside, and will make sure you and your party feel the full shame of not digging through the depths of their website to find out. That's not information I could find on their public Google listing at all, so doing everyone with kids a service and making it known.
