My twins had the best 9th birthday ever at Back to the Arcade II in Palmer Park Mall. Retro video games and pinball, air hockey, skeeball, claw machines (and pool table for older kids and adults). Everyone had a blast; highly recommend for kids age 8 on up to adults! Mark the owner was fantastic to work with - great guy, flexible with hours, very generous and such a great party deal, especially if you are looking to invite a bunch of people (we had 28 kids + 1 parent each). Kelly, our party attendant, deser
Had all kinds of games for the family. My son and I had a wonderful time. If you're a Senior it's only $10 all day.
Best birthday party ever for my 8 and 12 year old. From the owner Mark to the helpers they were absolutely fantastic. This was by far the best experience for my kids. Adults could play, kids could play. This is an A++ if you are looking to have a birthday party for your kids. Even just go and pay it's okay as much as you can! Well done Mark and team this was awesome for our kids. Thank you for making the party great for both of my kids.
We visited the South mall location for the first time last night and had a blast! The owner and staff could not have been friendlier. I was giddy seeing multiple games from my earlier days - we will definitely be back, as well as plan to check out the Palmer mall location :)
We had a birthday party for our son here this weekend and it was fantastic. The vibes are immaculate and there are so many amazing games in there. The owner and employees are so friendly and sweet. Reasonable pricing and just a fun time overall! Highly recommend for a party or even just to spend a day! Thank you for having us!
This place itself was cool but The reason why I'm giving the place 2 stars is because we are a family of 6 and we were just going out for my daughter?s birthday to play and then go out to eat. He said we can celebrate there for $120 & we get the private party room & my 3 kids and husband can play games. (I had to stay with my 10 month old baby) when we arrived he charged us $160. That was already a little weird. But if he said we get a private area why not right?Well?we got the private area. NOTHING WAS INC
My family arrived just about over an hour before closing. I was warmly greeted by Mark, and he shared our love for arcades. With the remaining time in mind, I asked if there was any chance he could consider granting us a deal for the family with a shorter block of time remaining, and ended up allowing us to enter the arcade for $10 a person. This type of generosity cannot be overlooked. In addition to this, he offered us the opportunity to stay and play a little bit past closing, without a wince of rushing
I went here yesterday with my oldest son so we could escape and have some fun. The owner is the nicest person I ever met, he took time out to get to know us and our story. I love that he donates to the animals ?? I'll support this business forever. I really stepped back into my childhood here and felt comfortable. I love it, we loved it.
Great arcade with lots of stuff to play. The ladies that were working the night we visited were super nice. They were excited to have us visit from multiple hours away and their hospitality went above and beyond. Lots of good pinball games to play along with great arcade cabinets. This place is on our list to visit again.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Back to the Arcade. Mark and his amazing team helped me plan a super last minute surprise birthday party for my husband and it turned out perfect! They were so helpful and kind and answered all my questions. The space itself? SPOTLESS AND CLEAN. I have never seen such a beautiful and well maintained arcade. The workers are constantly cleaning and wiping down the games. You couldn't even find a smudge mark or a finger print, and it was very busy that night! Th
We recently had our son?s birthday party here and it was so perfect. The best part was the flexibility. We were able to invite as many people as we wanted, stay as long as we wanted, and bring in our own food. Best birthday party deal in the Valley. Big thanks to Mark and his staff who made the day so special!
Great selection of 17 pinball games all in impeccable condition, plus 3-4 shooting games, skee-ball, and probably 24-30 other video games as well as air hockey. It's $20 for all day play for adults, and you can leave and come back later as well.
Mark and crew at 'Back to the Arcade" provided wonderful service for our daughter's 13th birthday party. It was great to be able to invite parents to stay and play alongside the kids! We enjoyed classic favorites from the '80's (not recreations running on modern flat panels, but true original games exactly as they were when we were in 7th grade, give or take a few years)! We are thrilled to recommend any gathering of up to 50 people to skip the coin-slot and play for as long as you like! Book well ahead o
We had my son?s 10th birthday here and the kids had an amazing time! The basketball, air hockey and bubble hockey were the most popular games. Mark is SO nice and goes above and beyond to make your party wonderful!
Mark (the owner) and the staff are absolutely amazing! Had my son?s birthday party at Back to the Arcade for the 2nd year in a row and couldn't be more happy with the experience! Everyone is always extremely helpful. By far one of the best experiences I've had thus far for throwing parties for my son! Mark is extremely generous and you can tell has a ton of pride in the Arcade that he's created! What a great time for the kids & the parents! Highly recommend using them for a birthday party!!
This place is incredible! A lot of fun, $20 adults and $10 kids unlimited play, so much fun, 80's arcade games plus modern pinball machines, skeetball, hockey bubble, there is pizza and yaccos in the mall if you get hungry they let you leave and come back, give you penny candy when you leave, will be back, had so much fun!
We had my son's birthday party at the PALMER PARK MALL LOCATION! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Our party attendant checked on us many many times. The owner even gave my son a Fortnite board game as a gift and all the kids from the party got to pick from the candy and small toys out front before we left. They even went to the pizza place in the mall and picked up the pizzas that i ordered so I could stay at the party with the kids and guests! For one flat fee, all the kids and adults play
Had my 6 year old?s party with Mark and it was just amazing! Kids and their parents had a blast and the kids got to learn how cool a real arcade is. Such a deal for a kids party and with Cynthia helping us, I really had nothing to worry about at all! Hands down the best place in the Valley to throw a party!
Great time, great memories from back in the day. If you played arcades in the mall and just hung out at the mall, you will relive your childhood. I went with a friend of mine and we loved the games and we spent over 3 hours there. We were just trying to beat each level and since you don't need to feed the machine with coins or tokens, you just hit start and keep on playing. Many arcade games and all of the classics. Ms Pac Man, Pac Man, Tapper, Asteriods, Frogger, Street Racer, Space Invaders, Centipede, D
They had almost all the classic games and a bunch of really awesome pinball machines. Reasonably priced and the lady that worked there was so friendly. I'll definitely be back.
This is such a great place. Mark the owner and his staff were very nice. I took my son here and his friends for his birthday. They all had a blast such a good variety of games . We will definitely will be back here again. The staff walked around and cleaned the games frequently. The arcade is very clean. Called ahead to know a good time to bring 10+ kids and it was perfect.
Very nice place, great for kids and adults alike. Manger and staff are very nice and helpful. Most importantly, for $15/kid, it's a deal as you get to play as long as the place is open. Will definitely come back again.
Back to the Arcade in South Mall, Allentown, Pennsylvania, is an absolute treasure for anyone looking to relive the golden days of arcade gaming. From the moment you step inside, you're transported back to an era where pixels and joysticks ruled the world. The selection of games is incredible, featuring a perfect mix of classic arcade hits and pinball machines that are impeccably maintained. Whether you're a fan of Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, or the vibrant lights and sounds of pinball, there's something here fo
Went for my son?s 12th birthday with 9 of his friends! Very affordable at $15 play all day, enough to keep them entertained for 3+ hours, very clean and well up-kept old school games! The owner is phenomenal! Offered 2 free candy/toys to each kid AND gave my son a rare Pok?mon card since it was his birthday! I don't care if you live close or far, if you like arcade games you need to visit Back To The Arcade!
Best Arcade yet! This is now top of our list of places to play pinball. My favorite game was Nightmare on Elm Street. There are only a handful of games that are not on free play or marked not working. Every game we played was great, nothing malfunctioning by tilting or balls getting stuck. Employees were constantly wiping down the machines between players. They have a room for private kids or adult parties. The owner Mark is a complete sweetheart and obvious fan of back to the future, among other things. Ph
My son and I went here. He is a big gamer growing up in the PS4/PS5 era, so places like the Pinball Museum in Vegas was only about 45 min of fun for him. We were at Back to the Arcade for >2 hours and he really enjoyed it. I showed him how to follow the prompts pinball games give you (vs. just trying smacking the ball over and over) and he really liked it. They have all the best games - Double Dragon, Galaga, Pacman, NBA Jam, Simpsons, House of the Dead, air hockey, Big Buck Hunting, and many more. Some m
I celebrated my son?s 10th Birthday here and we had about 30 guest , let me tell you every single one of our guest was happy and satisfied with this place the children and parents both enjoyed playing . Everyone in this place is so nice and attentive to all our needs my son even got a present from the owner a Dragon Ball Z figure to add to his collection . The party room was perfect to accommodate all my guest . I will definitely be back but now to celebrate my husband?s Birthday since he enjoyed it so m
We just had a 12th birthday party at Back to the Arcade and it was easily the best party we have hosted. It was simple, no fuss. The kids had a blast! And the adults that stayed also had so much fun playing. It was truly fun for everyone! The owner and employees were super friendly and could not have been more helpful. They even helped unload/load the car! They constantly cleaned, wiped down games, cleaned the bathrooms, and emptied trash. I highly recommend having a party here! But we will also be back to
My son and I spent about 2 hours and had a great time. Mark, the owner, showed us his collection of signed merch which was really cool. Lots of classic arcade games, pinball, bubble hockey, air hockey and skeeball. Some of the games I remember playing were Donkey Kong and DK Junior, Tapper, Variants of Pac Man, Area 51, The Simpsons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, MK3 and MK4, SF2, Gold Tee Golf, Operation Wolf, QBert, Burger Time, Double Dragon, Outrun. Really a lot of fun packed into this place.
Just celebrated my son's 12th Birthday at Back to the Arcade and it was amazing! Everyone had such a great time! The staff is AWESOME! The place is so clean and the amount of games is perfect! It was definitely one of the BEST celebrations we've had over the years. We will definitely be booking again and again. Love the fact that is for ALL ages. EVERYONE enjoyed themselves. THANK YOU MARK & STAFF you guys are AMAZING!
Mark is seriously the coolest guy on the block!!! Such a pleasure in this establishment! Don't let this mall space fool you, I don't like the mall but I LOVE THIS ARCADE!!! So it's the only time you'll see me here! I'm a NYC girl and I have high standards for things to do in the Valley!! This takes NUMBER ONE on my list!!! Can't wait to come back!!! My family and I had a blast!
I'm a big retro arcade fan. I've been to many. This one isn't going to overwhelm you with its size, but when you put together the total package, it is absolutely top-tier. This is because it scores very well in three key areas. First, game selection. As I noted, this is not a warehouse sized place, it's on par with the arcades you grew up with. But certainly a healthy selection. Secondly, selection is useless if the games are not in good condition, and the condition of the machines at this arcade was very,
Back to the Arcade is a time capsule! From the moment I walked in with my sons (12+14) I was transported back to the 80's & 90's. Multiple pinball machines, skee ball, basketball, classic games like Pac Man, Donkey Kong, and newer ones like Jurassic park keep kids and adults engaged and having fun for hours! The owner, Mark, is such a wonderful guy for creating this fun and safe environment for all ages to enjoy. Many of the profits from this small business go to help local charities which is an added bonu
Just had an event last evening at the Palmer Park Mall location of Back to the Arcade. We could not speak more highly of everything - the staff, new location, and more! We called needing a last minute space to host a party and Mark and his team could not have been more accommodating to make sure we had the date / time we needed and everything fit in our budget. They even gave the kids a free gift at the end. Their new location is a wonderful space - so nicely decorated and the games were awesome. Highly rec
Awesome place!! Was here for a birthday party yesterday and it was a great time! Great games and everything worked with no issues! Great job by all employees and our party host!!
We had a great time! There's a $20 fee for adults to play all the machines. The games are kept in very good condition and they have some of the good old school games like Galaga, Pacman, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and more. They also offer a $10 discount for veterans.
Had a great party experience at Back to the Arcade. Mark is very accommodating! The party host was amazing and very attentive. My son had a great time!
Very fun arcade with a flat fee for unlimited play! Pinball machines all played well and are well maintained. Staff was very friendly. Great fun for the whole family at a great price that won't break the bank
Mark and their staff were so welcoming, so helpful and organized! Love the collection, very cool selection. The place was really clean and was being cleaned periodically. Our party had an amazing time! We look forward to coming back soon!
$5/kid and $10/adult. Unlimited play and water and soda served to you while you play. Sweet family owned and operated business. Clean, friendly, great environment and lots of games to choose from! Perfect rainy day activity if you're looking for some awesome throwbacks!
This is was by far the best birthday party my son ever had!! This place is amazing. So much fun and the owners were amazing. Such a great staff. We will be back and I recommend you go there for some fun!!
Absolutely love this place. $5 for kids $10 adults all you can play ( they do post times there are private parties). They have greeted us each time, offered water/ soda etc. Staff is so friendly . Can't say enough about the arcade. Lots of parking. Easy to get to. Can't have this much for for that price anywhere. Have fun each time I have gone and doesnt it doesnt get old.
I just went back in time for a few hours, and experienced a joy I haven't had since being a teenager and going to the arcade. Smiling from ear-to-ear, I played all the classics, and found some new pinball games that were awesome (2 that stood out were the Munsters and Jerassic Park) Great place, great people.
Had the best time here. Only had an hour today but will go back soon and hope to spend several hours there. The amount of pinball machines, retro arcade cabinets and the mix of old and new were amazing. The owner is so happy to be able to bring this to we Arcade lovers and I'll be happy to go back and drop more $$. So nice to pay a flat rate and play all these awesome games. I loved the Rush, Mandalorian and Stranger Things pinball games. Also loved playing a real Galaga cabinet and playing Defender. I'm no
Awesome arcade with mainly games from the 80's. $20 for adults for an all day admission which i really enjoy as you pay once and do not have to worry about it the rest of the time. I really appreciated how the place was clean and there was hand sanitizer located around. Met the owner he was very nice! I recommend coming here and I will be back!
We love Back to the Arcade!! Mark has an amazing business in the south mall. Games for everyone. Mark is an outstanding man, he gives back to the community and when you have a birthday party, he asked for something individually that would make your child feel special. Their party?s are top notch. You get one to two works that help out with everything once bringing your stuff to the mall. It's so stress free. Absolutely so much fun!
Walked in by chance with my 2 daughters ages 5 and 2 last night. We couldn't have been treated any better. My daughters are still talking about it this morning. What a great idea and concept for an arcade. If you're anywhere near this place you should stop in. Totally worth it. To be honest I'd like to go back myself so I can play some of the games without my daughters! This isn't a chuckie cheese or an expensive arcade like they have down the shore. This is a great arcade and whay they should all be
So much fun! They keep everything super clean, owners are awesome.
The only reason this place is not five stars is due to the payment options. It's a $20 flat fee to play as long as you want! That's an excellent deal if you want to spend hours here and just go crazy on some old school video games. But what about those of us who just want to stop in for 15 minutes or maybe 30 minutes while at the mall? Unfortunately, it's the same flat fee instead of say $5 or $6 bucks. They should definitely have a fee option for those of us who aren't there to play games all day. Other th
Owner was great and very accommodating to our group. Kids had a great time. Lots of classic games.
Had an incredible time! Very cool design has incredible games both old and new! great price !the owner is so nice and took his time to interact with everyone can't wait to go back!
Had my son?s birthday party here. Overall great experience! Kids had so much fun. The back party room was a nice quiet place to sit and chat with adults. Kids played until close, did not feel rushed. The kid helping with the party was super nice and friendly. And it was so clean for an arcade. Cost of party was super reasonable too compared to other local venues. Definitely coming back!
This arcade is such a steal, you can pay a single time and play as much and as long as you'd like to. All games are preset up so all you have to do is hit start! The lady who works at the desk is the sweetest person alive, she gave us some candies before we left and she seems so pure I wanna give her a hug. 10/10 experience will go again and again!
Awesome retro arcade experience!!! It's truly back to the 80?s and early 90?s with every major arcade cabinet and pinball table you remember. I brought my son to experience the games I loved when I was his age, and he enjoyed them just as much! Super friendly and helpful staff. All you can play for one low price!!! No quarters required! Highly recommended, I can't wait to go back!
So much fun!! And the owners are super nice! They made my son feel special on his birthday. Such a family friendly place.
My wife and I had so much fun in this arcade. The classic games brought back awesome memories. The staff is so kind and friendly. We will be visiting anytime we are in the area.
Omg this place is amazing..20 dollars for an all day pass. The selection is fantastic even compared to arcades back in the day..the memorabilia the lighting...all incredible atmosphere...u all must see this place!!
Really fun. Place to spend the afternoon. Machines are kept in top notch condition. I loved it. I definitely will be going back.
This is for the Palmer Park Mall location. Everything was great. Clean location, plenty of games and still roomy. Great location for my son's birthday party. The least stressful party I've thrown for him. Can't recommend enough
AMAZING!!! Highly recommend for your next birthday party. We had my son?s 8th birthday party there. We used the party room for pizza and cake. The staff were so nice and super helpful. It's very clean and they cleaned up right away afterwards. Which I really appreciate it. All the party kids played for FREE and got a candy as they left. Everyone had a blast! Book your next event here!
We recently celebrated my son?s 7th birthday at the arcade, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and organized, ensuring that everything went smoothly. The arcade had a fantastic selection of games that kept the kids entertained for hours. The birthday package we chose included endless games and an event room, which made planning easy. The kids loved the pizza from Dinos in the mall and we had cupcakes made by a local baker, and there was pl
This is a neat experience. I liked the "Retro" Games they had available, but more than that the idea of just paying a flat 20 dollars for unlimited play is something I found really neat. Most arcades I go into charge per play, where Back to the Arcade was unlimited. I think we spent around 2 hours playing the different games, certainly brought back that 80's / 90's arcade vibe from when I was a kid.
Great place highly recommend! Very clean employees were wiping machines down continuously. If you love nostalgia definitely worth it!! And your will not beat the price anywhere else!
Best arcade I've ever been to in my entire life, and that's not an exaggeration. The owners are so kind and everyone who works there is so helpful and brings so much positivity! The game selection is phenomenal and feels like an actual authentic arcade!
We just had our son's birthday party at Back to the Arcade, and we would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone of any age looking to have a great time. The kids working there were kind and helpful--unpacking our car in the rain and checking on us frequently. The hospitality and attentiveness blew us away. The owner was awesome and a pleasure to speak to...his passion for the arcade and the kids stood out. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you Mark and staff for a great afternoon!
1st, awesome. 2nd, NBA Jam with original roster, even awesomer (I don't care about the misspelling)!!! 3rd, FREE prizes!!! On a side note, I will destroy any team your Dad picks with Sacramento Kings!!! Spud Webb & Wayman Tisdale were the best!!!
So much fun! Can't wait to go back. The owner was super nice. Wish we lived closer.
This place is a hidden gem! So many old school games, great people working there, so much fun for the entire family. Everything is clean and well maintained. One entry fee per person for unlimited play - no cards and not pay-per-play like other arcades. We had a birthday party there and everyone had a blast, including the parents! We will definitely be back!
Tons of great music, TV, and movie memorabilia. SUPER friendly and helpful staff, and of course GREAT games for the whole family to enjoy! We will be back again and again!
I brought my three kids here on a recommendation from a friend, ages 12, 9, and 6 years old. I met Mark the owner who is a really nice guy and decided to have my son?s birthday party here. The birthday party was a huge success and was very entertaining for the kids. It was just great, clean, old school fun, and the pricess are very reasonable. The place was clean and I noticed the employees going around and cleaning the machines and every single machine worked as it should. I highly recommend Back To T
We had so much fun here for my daughters birthday! A few of the games have broken buttons or non-working parts, but you definitely get your money's worth here on an all day pass. So many old classics. Highly recommend Burger Time.
This place is amazing! Brings you back to all the fun of the 80?s! My son had his 12th birthday get together with his friends and they had a blast! Thank you for this gem!
We had a 16th birthday party at Back to The Arcade and it was a wonderful experience. All our guests had a great time. Grandparents enjoyed the games as much as the kids. The staff was exceptional. Very friendly and helpful. They assisted us with setting up and checked in with us throughout our time to make sure everyone was having fun and that we had everything we needed. The party room easily accommodated our large group. We had a guest in a wheelchair and she was able to navigate around easily and even e
Had the most wonderful time! Mark gave my friend and I a tour of the whole arcade. Super nice staff and really awesome vintage arcade games. This is my new favorite thing to do and I plan on coming back as often as I can!
Fabulous place! Had my daughter?s Sweet 16 party here & the staff was so friendly, attentive, & helpful. Mark, the owner, really took care of us! We all had a fabulous time playing so many fun games, especially those that brought back great memories of the good ol? 80s. Thank you, Mark & staff for a wonderful day! :0)
We visited for the first time and had a wonderful experience, staff and owner Mark, were friendly and helpful! Stepstools for the little kids that can't reach is a huge win for parents with little ones, and tons of games to choose from no matter your interest. We will definitely be visiting again
Awesome experience, amazing staff, and a variety of classic games that will take up hours of fun!
Wow!! The owner was working the day we went in and he went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and worked hard to ensure we were having a great time! So many fun games - it is easy to burn a few hours here without it feeling like that long! Thanks again - from your Minnesota customers (:
Mark, the owner is amazing. He rocks. He is a big supporter of non-profits. And has helped scout many times. We hosted our mother and son event there, and it was a great time. I am looking forward to much more great times with Mark and his crew at the arcade. He truly values community. And that is what it's all about! Thanks Mark We love you guys Amany!
They have all my favorite games - Outrun, Burger Time, Ms Pac-Man, even Tapper. Also, the rug is cool.
We had our son?s 1st birthday party today at the arcade. The perfect venue for our 1-UP theme! Mark and his team were incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating from the very beginning. With access to both party rooms and unlimited game play for our many guests, everyone was comfortable and entertained throughout the whole day. His staff was there with us from set up to last present packed in the car to ensure the best experience possible. We can't recommend them enough.
I, 40 year old mom, went on a date with my 9 year old daughter and had a blast. Extremely friendly staff, very clean, and everything worked like it was suppose to. A well spent hour of fun.
This arcade brings me back to my happy place growing up. Classic arcade cabinets, and incredible new and vintage pinball machines. $20 for all you can play is an amazing deal. I live 3 hours from here, but every time my wife and I come to Allentown, we always put this arcade on our list to stop.
Awesome place. Owner and his son were super friendly. Place was jammed with people. Felt like the old arcade days. Highly recommend.
Arcade itself was kinda meh compared to others for is price. Decent enough, would have been better without the overbearing loud music. No requirements for parents to watch their kids which kinda ruined it. Decent but think we'll stick to the usual place.
Had my son's 9th birthday party here and it was a day to remember! Everyone from kids to adults had a great time. The staff was amazing and I would 100% recommend Mark and his team!
Best Arcade I've ever been too! I went for a friends Birthday party and it was amazing. From the games and to the staff!! I've never met so many friendly people before!! This place is well kept and again Amazing. If I could give more then 5?????????? I would!! Highly, Highmy recommend
We just celebrated our sons? birthdays there and it was the best experience ever! The place is immaculately clean and they frequently clean the surfaces, too. The staff was so friendly and they catered to everything we needed. Mark and Wyatt made sure everything was perfect and it was. I was free to relax and just enjoy the party, and of course play games. We will definitely be back! Thanks again Back to the Arcade!!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
