B.R.I. Taproom & Arcade

B.R.I. Taproom & Arcade

Reviews Summary

The consensus is overwhelmingly positive, with most reviewers praising the great atmosphere, excellent selection of beers (not just IPAs), and fun vintage arcade/pinball games. Many highlight the adult-friendly vibe, 80s/90s nostalgia, and suitability for social gatherings. A few mention minor drawbacks like limited food options, occasional inattentive staff, or worn-out games, but these are rare compared to the enthusiasm for the unique experience. The taproom is widely recommended for its balance of drinks, games, and retro charm.

Wonderful taproom and arcade that is also dog friendly.. they don't serve food but you can bring in take out from any of the delicious restaurants in the area.

I have been a long time patron of both locations (RIP Stapley & 60) for years now. Unfortunately we started limiting our time at the tap room because a very specific bartender hates when we come in with our kid. On top of that he is inattentive and rude, often spending most of his time on his phone. On our last (and final) visit, I was disappointed to see that he was working when we walked in but had high hopes since he actually acknowledged our presence and was initially mildly friendly which has never hap

Video game bar. That's all you need to know. Bartender was friendly and fun and we had a great time drinking different beers and playing pinball. There is a machine to get quarters for games. No food but plenty of choices nearby. A great DJ Sid Riddle was there today. If you are looking for arcade games and beer this is your spot.

Good tap selection. Pinball games were a bit expensive but there were a ton to choose from. The one guy working was very attentive and chill.

B.R.I. Taproom & Arcade is perfect for a brew, with tasty beer and pinball.

Great place on Main Street in Mesa. They have a great variety of beers (and they're not all IPAs for once). Tons of old pinball and arcade games. Kid and adult friendly but kids need to be out by 7 pm. 80s music like The Cure playing the whole time. What could be better?

Great place for a date night or just to hang out. They don't serve food, but encourage you to patronize the restaurants nearby and allow you to bring it in. The pinball machines are $1 and the other games cost a quarter. We come every week! Thanks for coming to Mesa!

5 ? for food because you have to provide your own pick it up have it walked on from across the street Gus's Famous ?? Chicken or you walk down the street and pick it up. They only have the brewery delights for you and the games of course so come on in to the cool ?? air have a beer and get your play on.

Was downtown mesa looking for something too chill with a beer and discovered this place.the music keep me around and the beer did too..It was extremely hot that day and the a/c was blasting you would have not known it was 110 degrees outside will come back again definitely

Had a blast! Lots of pinball games to choose from. Their beers are pretty tasty too! We will be back!

The adult arcade you've been waiting for! They provide a decent selection of pinball and classic arcade games from the 70s and 80s while serving BRI craft beer and a selection of wines. They also have water and soda on hand for the kids and anyone not partaking. There is no kitchen, but you can bring in food from any of the local downtown restaurants or the occasional food truck.

I gave a 5 out of 5 on food because I didn't eat and I don't know if they had food. I wanted to play Pinball and drink and they had a dope collection of pinball machines. I suggest you don't go here so I can have my alone time with the pinball machines.

Downtown Mesa is growing and BRI has paired their great beers with video games and pinball. I had never played pinball before but I am getting addicted. The Mario pinball is really fun and seems to be a good one to start with for newer players like myself. The atmosphere is fun. There's music playing for ambience but it's not overly loud. I like the layout of the machines; video games on one side and pinball machines on the other. There's a good amount of space, the machines aren't packed in tight like oth

This place is such a good place to come and chill! I like how they have a rotating cider on draft from the nearby Cider Corps. There's also of course some great old school arcade games and pinball machines to play!

Perfect weekend hang out! They have a wide variety of pin ball and old arcade games, my personal favorites are Galaga, Tapper, and the punching bag. They carry 9+ beers on draft from the beer institute and the bar tenders are always very helpful with their descriptions of each flavor. They usually give me a sample when I'm trying a new beer to make sure I like it. Overall an awesome place with really good energy perfect for a first date or getting a group of friends together.

This is a great location to choose from a great selection of beers. The video games and pinball machines brought back some happy memories.

If you like pinball and you like beer then look no further. The games are in fantastic condition and the place is spotless. My favorite game (Godzilla) was like brand new and you can tell they have some excellent pinballers as I never got close to a high score. The bartender was super friendly and made suggestions about local eats. I wish I found this place at the beginning of my travels instead of near the end. I'll definitely be back!

Lots of fun and great service

Mine & Wife First Experience at B.R.I. Taproom was Awesome!! ?? First let's talk about All the Old school Games. A Great Selection ?? Next, (you do use Tokens) But the Video Games ?? are Only 25cents. Wait-What... When was the last time you played a game for a quarter ?? They also have a Fun Line up of Pinball Machines. (There like 75cents) but obviously still worth it. They do have a bar are if you would like a drink ?? but... I'm here for the Amazing Games!! If you have never been to B.R.I. Taproom I H

Saw Jason sevorenthere. Fun place. Good selection of beers. A lot of pinball machines to keep you entertained

The Beer, the games, the service was great! Old school arcade games and pinball machines, great times!

I absolutely love the atmosphere and playing pinball and classic video arcade games while I knock back a cold draft. This is an amazing place for adult birthday parties and social/work gatherings. I had such a blast when I visited recently. After I told my family about it, they insisted on visiting and they loved it! I'm planning to go again this weekend. See you there!

Nice open feel, bar staff was friendly & efficient. Great to find venues welcoming to local bands.

Such a fun place to go with a ton of arcade games that are fairly cheap and free games at most of the tables. The service was excellent and the beer was delicious. The atmosphere was so fantastic! There are old tvs everywhere playing the most wonderful 70s/80s/90s shows and movies while a dj spins classic hits all night. Definitely worth a stop for sure.

Awesome little arcade tap room, great vibes and beer was great. Love to see a place like this in Mesa. Unfortunately, the bartender was disinterested and service was extremely slow. Sad to see on a Saturday afternoon

Best brewery in town! And rad games! Pinball too!

If you want a place to blow off steam by playing games and enjoying a good beer, this is the place to be. The cleanliness of the bathrooms alone, does it for me. No food at this location, but that's not a problem for me.

Cool retro pinball lounge. Had some games I hadn't seen in years and some older ones I've never seen before.

Very relaxing atmosphere, amazing staff, and flavorful brews. I played one of their Wednesday pinball tournaments and had a great time. Family friendly, welcoming and extremely clean.

Excellent place. Delicious beer. Lots of arcade games.

I like it. I don't really like Mesa very much, but I like this place. Most of the games are cheap enough you can play for a little while. They don't have food, but they allow you to bring food from surrounding restaurants. At least a dozen beers on tap, plus a huge cooler full of all kinds of beer. Overall a pretty cool place.

My home away from home! I love this place! The beer, music and service is top notch! If you grew up on arcade/pinball games and 80s & 90s music, definitely check this place out! ??????

This is a great place to play pinball or a classic arcade game. The ales are fresh and they also have guest taps. You can get food all around here and bring it in. This is another reason to visit downtown Mesa!

This place is great! They have amazing beers on tap that they brew on site. And they also have a great selection of vintage arcade games and pinball to play. Service is phenomenal and the bar tenders are VERY knowledgeable about their craft beers. I will definitely be visiting again!

This place is great. Unfortunately there were like 4 oddly aggressive 40+ year old adults who were "saving" half the machines from afar, and would accost you if you tried to play so we didn't really get to play much! But we will try again!

This place has a really relaxed atmosphere and plenty of arcade games/pinball. No scratch kitchen like the original location and they just have a water cooler to get water from. Get your drinks at the order here counters and if you're real lucky a bartender might ask you what you want. No parking in the back - it's either in the very limited front parking or down the side of the road. It's a neat place and the location seems cool but the Stapley location is still my favorite

This place is great! We love coming here. We were lucky enough to stop by last week and met Hannah who was doing their karaoke that night and she is amazing!!! We will go back whenever she is there!

We had our company holiday party at this venue. I thought it went really well and was seemingly price effective. The beers were good and the games were fun for both nostalgic adults and kids.

The original downtown Mesa pinball bar, with a lineup of great other games and phenomenal brews. You are welcome to bring in food from nearby local businesses as well! Can't recommend enough.

Ok for a beer. Website on Google maps shows a food menu but this location does not serve food

Awesome place! Tons of well-kept cabinets, especially classics like Donkey Kong, Joust, Centipede, the works. Staff was super friendly and helped out our large party with ease. Cannot wait to come back!

Fun place to have drinks and play video games!

Fun. What else you gonna do in downtown Mesa? Big plus- NO white boy bartenders with dreads. Minus- charge too much for games. Careful on how much alcohol is in your beer, could be cut off before you hoped. Edit.. Sorry should of played the arcade games and will next time! Only played pinball. One machine was 3 tokens, rest I played were $1.

Great place to try a variety of beers AND vintage video games. Pinball also available. Staff friendly. You can bring in your own food as not food served. Sometimes there is a food truck.

Beer was Phenomenal. Been drinking beer from bri since day one and I got to say thier beer game has never been stronger. Also the tap room wasn't 50 ipas, and had various types you don't see. (Esb, English dark strong, etc). The arcade games brought me back to the 90s. Mk2, Simpsons, Spiderman, house of the dead, and Mario pinball! Wishing for a few other cabinets but I can't complain. Spent 4 hours here and could have spent longer. Even had a dj show up around 6 on Saturday. Plus all the great food in the

The place was almost empty when we arrived, however, it took the unfriendly, uninterested tap room staff (there were two) about five minutes to ask us what we wanted to drink. No information on the different beers or anything else when asked she just "didn't know". The walls are covered with video and arcade games. It looks more like a place for 21 year olds than anyone else. They have no kitchen. We're not going back.

Thank you so much for hosting our event! We had an amazing time in the arcade and the beer was great :)

Cool old school games... great beer... nice crowd.

Great little arcade. Quieter and cleaner than Cobra Arcade and karaoke on Thurs!!! You can bring in your own food as well since they do not have a kitchen. Small places to get food walking distance around the area

Super fun place - this is a great addition to a reviving downtown Mesa. Beer is great (as always from BRI) and there are lots of classic pinball games, Nintendo games like Mario and Donkey Kong, and arcade classics like Gallaga and Centipede. Don't miss the tabletop Ms. Pacman!

Place is amazing. The ONLY thing I'd complain about is overly technical -- their house of the dead 2 cab seems to use gun4IR which is decent enough but kinda inaccurate. I have sinden lightguns at home, and they are ultra accurate. I'd say if you could get some and get it working in the cab that game would be even better. I say this like I didn't dump 10 bucks in it, or won't again next time I show up. Don't mind me lol.

Great bar with an awesome variety of beers and cider fun atmosphere, great service and had a blast doing kareoke

The Taproom and arcade are exactly as they describe. They offer a variety of craft beers like their Stapley location, but offer a large variety of arcade games. Weekends are busy and offer a change of pace for pubs.

The comedy showcase and yummy drinks made for a wonderful experience !

Games are lit street fighter 2, mortal kombat 2, cruising USA. It's got great people mike and nick are fantastic people and super knowledgeable about the beer. You have to check these guys out another mom and pop right here in Mesa making a great contribution to what this city can be.

Stopped in for the first time last minute. Great and clean atmosphere, great beer choices, and great selection of games!

Not alot of beer choices, the games are cool however very worn and several down for repairs (understandable as most are 25 or more years old ). Hope they get more choices for beer.

Great place to hang out before a show at The Nile. They let you bring food in too!

Doesn't feel too cramped like some of the barcades, good selection of beers on tap. There's plenty of good food nearby, but it would be nice to have a limited food menu.

Low key place to play pinball, arcades, and have a drink. Check out their daily specials like free play Tuesdays.

It's alright. Just an arcade with a bar.

Loved this place! Great choices for beer. Lots of Pinball games and other old-school arcade games.

If you like BRI beers and arcade games then you will like this place. Good service, good beer, and plenty of good food options nearby that can be delivered or picked up on the way in.

Nice, relaxed setting. Lots of pinball and machines to play. Staff are top notch!

Really enjoyed my time here and had a blast playing arcades. Will definitely visit again!

LOVE THE 80's !!! ? Music ? Videos ? Early MTV rerunds ? Commercials from Early 80's ? All the 80's Video games ? Pinball machines ? huge Bar ? Great tasting Craft Beers ? Have a pizza delivered and eat there Ray , Allpride marble and granite

My favorite barcade! The staff are always friendly to me and I love the pinball tournaments

Good selection of beers on tap and the arcade is pretty fun

Great pricing and fun games like mario!

Tasty beer options and more arcade options than you can throw a roll of quarters at.

Such a unique space! Really worth checking out if you haven't been inside yet.

Super simple atmosphere but great vintage games!

Full of arcades and people. It was pretty loud, but the drinks are good and it's a great place to meet up with friends.

Hands-down the best barcade in the state! Along with BRI beer which is always on point. Now we have a reason to go downtown Mesa!

Great tap room with a large number of arcade games and pinball machines.

Great beers and some or the best arcade games. If you beat the highest score on a game, you get a free beer.

I love how they make their own beer.??

Great location and excellent bar. Arcade games from my youth. Take my quarter!

Fun place to have a few drinks and take you back to your childhood by playing old school arcades and pinball.

Loved the beer menu to the staff to all the games, will be going back soon loved it!

So many great games and beers. This game was our favorite though so simple yet so challenging. Good time for sure.

BRI Taproom and Arcade rocks. Go here and drink some fantastic beer and play some pinball and arcade games right away!

Really fun place to grab a beer and relive your youth on the arcade machines!

Games were great, beer was great. There was not food.

Great selection of drinks, the Galaga game worked perfect!

The beer, staff, and games are great. Well worth a visit.

Fun place. Good beer

Reverse happy hour after 10pm ?? The Prik prickly pear hazy IPA is ??

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
