Axe and Ale House

On a random road trip from NY and decided to stop in Bristol, VA for dinner. Found the Axe and Ale House and will tell you the food was amazing. Cuban sandwich, the smoked pork was phenomenal and I had the chicken nachos, with smoked and juicy chicken. Came to this restaurant yesterday for the 1st time thinking it would be a nice place to try. Boy were we wrong!! Arrived and got immediately seated. The gentlemen that was taking care of us was very nice. Got our drinks while we looked at the menu. I ordered the cheese quesadilla with sweet potato fries. Cute building. Service could be a little bit more outgoing. We ordered buffalo chicken dip and two meatloaf dinners. Meatloaf was super dry like eating peanut butter and hard to swallow and the potato tasted strange. Which led us to believe they were frozen and thawed out. Definitely did not taste fresh. W tried to eat it. Green beans were good. Chicken dip was great though. Checks are given without itemizing what you got so you have to pay attention to that to calculate.

The axe-throwing was Great, nice customer service, if you plan to have a family gather or group activities It's a great place for groups, and the staff made sure we knew all the safety and the best way to throw the Axes. it's good place for food, drinks, and fun. I will definitely go back if I am in town. Also, they have Country band that play sometimes on the week, I don't knoww their specific schedule.

This is the best bar I've ever been to. They've got an arcade. They've got ax throwing. They've got a stage, that when I was there, had a stand-up comedian. Super fun place, very family friendly and full of stuff to do! Cheddar rounds are to die for, the staff is wonderfully polite and kind, food and drinks are solid. Axes are sharp, arcade games are $1, and the decor is fun! Try it.

Absolutely wonderful spot! Food came out quick. We walked into a free bingo night and got to win some prizes. The axe throwing is well taken care of and kept safe. This place is fantastic. We were just passing through on a road trip toward Maryland, and I'm glad we stopped here for dinner. I've been to Axe & Ale several times and it's always a blast. The food is amazing - I dig those sweet potatoes fries! The staff is fantastic at helping newcomers figure out their style of throwing with the axes and are very attentive. The whole place has a very relaxed atmosphere. My little family and I ate here over the weekend. We were greeted by a very sweet older gentlemen who showed us around. We really liked him. The owner , who I had the honor of serving with in the military, brings the same dedication, discipline and sense of community to his business that he did to his service. When we wanted to throw axes after eating they were really friendly and helpful getting us started, and showing us how to do it. If you have never thrown axes before but thought it looked fun. I travel all over the USA If I am within 100 miles of the Axe &Ale I am staying to eat . Would sleep in the place but they say I need to stay in hotel next door. Best Place in SW VA and NE TN for fun!.

Amazing staff! Amazing food! The chocolate covered almonds on the charcuterie board were insane. Great stop on a long journey. We definitely went in the wrong entrance, sign pointing to the area with the bar on the side door would be great!

This has become our new favorite place in town. We try to come weekly to at least have dinner. We have tried many food options and all are delicious. The smoked meatloaf is still my favorite! The food portions are huge and could easily be shared. Atmosphere is amazing and the whole place has such a chill and cool vibe. I love that the axe boards are digital and you have games to choose from while playing. The staff are always so friendly.

You walk into a great atmosphere immediately and the staff makes it even better. Laid back, fun, and enjoyable. I can see this becoming something big! This place is awesome. It really is for everyone - from a private group, to a smaller after hours group, to families, to having on your bar hop list (you will probably stay and play). The food is excellent. Saw many plates at the bar over lunch and they all looked great. I had a chicken and waffles sandwich - wow - it was great. This was our familys first visit after being recommended as a great place for some fun. We were greeted by the hostess as soon as we entered and she explained how the axe throwing worked as we have never thrown an axe. We scanned a QR code filled out our waivers quick and easy. She gave us some throwing tips and explained the safety rules. It only took a few attempts and we were axe throwers and had a blast. We ordered some cold beers and cider and a delicious Pepperoni pizza to snack on in between throws.

My friends and I eat here frequently and it's always great food and service! I've also hosted a couple of events and had my birthday party here as well! Highly recommend for all ages and groups!

If you're in or around Bristol, this is a must see stop! Great place to drop by for food, drinks, and fun! The food here is AMAZING and the ticket times are quick! The arcade and axe throwing lanes offer entertainment for everyone! The staff here are all super courteous and friendly, they will make you feel right at home. The axe targets are projected from a digital projector, with several different games to choose from, you can even upload your own photos!!!

Great spot! Live music on a Sunday and plenty to do. Wife and I had white chicken pizza and Caesar salad. Everything was delicious and the bar atmosphere was great.
