Went here for a birthday party and it was a pretty cool experience. Hundreds of video games old, new, and ones I've never seen before. Prices seemed decent. Pizza was pretty good. Over all a fun experience

I've been to arcade bars all over the country and this was likely the best I've ever seen. Vast collection of arcades over several stories and well priced food and drinks. Incredible vibes

Came here for the our 4th anniversary and it was the best time! Staff are amazing! Fun atmosphere and amazing art EVERYWHERE!

great arcade! $25 for unlimited gameplay is a pretty good deal. staff are friendly & restrooms are clean. has a wide selection of games including japanese machines, rhythm games, and even billiards tables. will for sure be coming back!

Super fun! Lots of vibrant color and the staff is friendly! Had a margherita pizza and it was very good. You really can just play anything after the entry fee it rocks. Very good if you wanna play one specific arcade Also has the heritage for the future cabinet which i?ve never seen in person! Lots of rare/obscure games

Came with my husband for a work thing he had and I wasn't expecting anything from it as I've always only seen what round one has. I had so much fun here, they have a lot of games, pinball machines, pool tables, etc. you can get alcohol here as well and the restrooms are great. I would come here next time.

Place was amazing. This is Arcade Monsters San Diego. Went there on a whim while dropping of my big bad mother in law at the airport. Place was super not busy at 1030 on a Saturday. They had pretty good beer and other drinks. Legends say that they also have food after 2 pm too. Place turned out to be pretty clean and had very cool bathrooms. The art is to DIE FOR. THEY HAD TOOANY GAMES TOO PLAY. Decent deal in my very good opinion.

This place was great. So many games and options over a couple of floors. Drinks and food available as well. It does get crowded after Padres games and can get a little warm in the spot. We had a great time. $25 for unlimited play as long as you stay. Drinks and food not included. Loved it!

This is by far the best arcade I have ever been to. When you think you've seen everything, you turn the corner and see more cabinets and amazing art on the walls. They have an impressive collection of shooters with feedback and imported rhythm games on top of the great pinball machine and arcade cabinets. Def go upstairs and spend some time. I will absolutely be telling my friends about this place and visiting again.

First time in cali and decided to come here, definitely a great decision. The scenery is awesome and the staff is great here. If you are looking for a place to try, definitely come to monster arcade. It's cost friendly and worth every penny. Both adult and kid friendly, oh and the adult drinks are phenomenal.

This place is such a fun throwback-nostalgic, cool, and full of good vibes! I'll admit, I'm not exactly a pro at arcade games, but when my friend invited my husband and I, we were pleasantly surprised by how much fun we had. Even if you're not a gaming expert, there's still plenty of fun to be had here. It's all about the experience, the atmosphere, and just enjoying yourself!

This place is amazing! Lots of cool Japanese arcade games, and its also unlimited gaming, and even thought it may be somewhat crowded, people cycle through fast and there is not much wait. This place is a must go for every visit to Orlando. They also have some retro games, which are a throwback and super fun.

An awesome place to hang out. A flat rate of $25 ($35 if you want to leave and return on the same day) gets free play of hundreds of video games, pinball, and pool tables. There are food and drinks for purchase and private rooms for parties.

$20 entrance (I hope this price stays ??????) - ALL GAMES INCLUDED WITH ENTRY FEE OF $20 - Beer - Buy your own prizes - Pinball, Pool, Arcade, Dance, Selfie Pictures THE LIST GOES ON!!! If you're a local, this is an AMAZING spot to come spend your time at. Went in the morning on a Monday and spent around 3 hours there... you have to check it out. Pictures don't do this place justice. Visitors, same as locals, but you're not from here. It's all good. You're always welcome!!! Edit: 09SEP2024 Monday. I came

Flatout the coolest place in town. Some reproduction kiosks legacy games could do with some different setups (Battletoads here only has a setup for two players when it's supposed to be three), also more CRT displays would be nice to have (could maybe open up donations/offers to buy? them things need good homes...), but literally all of my complaints and menial nitpicks are brushed off by the sheer amount of LOVE that's in every crevice. You're gonna wanna get in on this. (Also, don't let the AI gen'd poste

Paying one price per person to enjoy the whole place was a great experience. Way better deal than loading cards for earning points and getting cheap prizes. Our teens prefer playing games over the whole tickets/prize thing. The adults in the group played while the kids played and it was fun for all of us. They have a great variety of games and some were exactly how we remembered them in the 80s. It also felt clean, considering it's an arcade. They had sanitizer bottles available throughout the place. Dri

First things: the people who work here are awesome. They are always incredibly nice. The price and machine diversity is amazing and the location is perfect. I usually come once a month at least to play. With that said, the main reason I come here is to play pinball, because they have the biggest collection for public use in San Diego. Today, of the 20 machines, 8 were broken in some way and they are all filthy. There is also no ball save on the pinball machines making competitive play impossible. While they

All you can play with reasonable entry fee. Amazing black light reactive art everywhere!!! All the old, new and everywhere games you can think of to play in one place. No coins or tokens necessary. Keep playing and adventuring until your brain and heart are satisfied.

Fantastic place to go if you have time to kill! Retro games, new games, games from Japan! You name it they got it! Awesome posters, awesome staff as well! 10 outta 10 would recommend for you to stop by! And the real catch open from 10 am to 2am all week! What not to love!? Sky is amazing as well stop by and hi!

This is my first time here because I am from NorCal. I came here for twitch.con 2024 with friends and my friends knows about this place. It is my first time here and I can definitely say the ambiance is GREAT! The front desk person name Skye (sorry if I spell your name wrong!) she is amazing! So nice and welcoming especially to me as a first time! Love the energy she gives! Very much love this place!

We came after a Padres game. It was awesome. The kids and adults had a great time. The food could be better but the drinks are good. The ube slushie was a hit.

Love the games, love the food. These ARE my favorite arcades. Came in from Florida just to visit the new location here in San Diego, they relentlessly continue to knock it out of the park. All-you-can-play all day just hits different. Get to enjoy the game instead of trying to get the most entertainment per $. Y'all should see the insane art on the walls, apparently the dude did it free hand?! Anyways, see you there, eh?

I heard a rumor that this was a pop up location for the time around comic con, which I hope isnt true because i want to go here everyday if i could. I felt like I was walking into a playable museum of video game history. To see wood cabinets again was amazing as well classics like galaga 88 and space ace. My favorite rythym games WACCA (please wear soft gloves) and Groove Coaster as well as an abundance of other import games (bring plug in headphones for maximum play experience). Please don't bring kids un

This was a great place!! $25 unlimited.plsy, no card no time limit and they have food and drinks with alcohol available. Great selection fun for ages teen+ to old adults!!

Rhythm games, pinball, fighting games, rhythm games, racing games, shooting games, classics, non-video games, and so much more! Did I mention rhythm games? I absolutely love that Arcade Monsters is in San Diego and brings such a variety of games that I haven't seen since early 2000s. They have many games set up for co-op (via duplicate machines). This is a great place and value if you like games. If you frequented arcades in the early 2000s, you'll be hit with nostalgia of DDR, beatmania, guitar/drum game

AARRG I wish I could do 4.5 stars! This place is absolutely amazing. If you just want to drink and play games, or are a nerd and want to play pinball, rythmn games, GameCube, snes, you'll have endless fun. For 25$ you're able to play literally every game for however long you'd like. For the ppl that care, they have Taiko no Tasujin, Sound Vortex, Project Diva, and some more Japanese exclusive rythmn games!!! Id HEAVILY recommend noise-cancelling headphones if you're staying here for a long time. The const

????? Arcade Monsters in San Diego is an absolute gem for any gaming enthusiast! This place is a paradise with two floors brimming with an incredible mix of classic and modern games. Whether you're into vintage pinball machines or the latest arcade hits, they've got it all. The neon lights and 80s pop culture decor create an electrifying atmosphere that makes you feel like you're stepping into a nostalgic time warp. The energy here is contagious, and the staff is super friendly. It's the perfect spot for a

It was really nice and the music was nice as well. I went to the San Diego, CA location. My bartender was Violet and she did a great job!

I loved the atmosphere, and I loved all the arcade cabinets they had! Everything was in incredible condition, and I was so happy to play Project Diva and Groove Coaster! I love Rhythm games, and it was cool to see them in person!

Arcade Monsters was so fun! Only $20 for all you can play and all day if you want. I went on a Monday afternoon, so I was able to find 2 hour parking around the area. If you are going to stay longer, I suggest you ride share or plan to find a parking lot near the venue. They have a ton of pinball machines, basketball games, skee ball, classic arcade games like Galaga, fighters like Mortal Kombat, and so many others. Definitely worth a monthly trip ??

Coolest thing ever! Cool date night idea. My wife is not a fan of arcade/video games but found this place very enjoyable. $25 and all you can play arcade games from different eras. Bar and food, the pinball machines, the ping pong table, and air hockey? hell, you had me once I saw the skeeball area. Well done!!

Smash Bros for GameCube has 4 controllers but only two work. Guitar Hero Arcade only partially works. Time crisis is out of order. Many other partially working or broken arcades. Otherwise a beautiful arcade that has a lot of potential but really needs some maintenance TLC. Would only recommend spending $25 after they fix everything.

Super fun place to hang out with friends and play games for hours. I especially liked the skee ball cuz I've never been able to play it long enough and I got 10,000 points 3x! There are a lot of games in other languages, so I didn't know what I was doing but it was still really fun. They have delicious slushies like ube and pina colada and cinnamon toast crunch, and you can add alcohol too. Their food was not great, but I needed some and I only paid $25 instead of the $35 reentry, I recommend eating before.

Amazing spot! I grew up in the 70's and boy do their games bring me back! Amazing staff with the best customer service! They are very accommodating and nice especially, Serena! I wish I had 4 thumbs to give her a big 4 thumbs up! :)

This place is awesome. We stopped by before a Padres game and didn't regret it. I enjoyed that there were plenty of games from when I was a kid that I could introduce the kids too and enjoy myself.

First time coming and the ambiance is super cool! They have blue lights all around the arcade with a crazy variety of games from old school to new modern arcade games. Their slushies are iconic you can add any shot liquor you like to personalize it! Super fun definitely recommend!!

Awesome place, lady at the entrance full of energy. $25 for unlimited play is so good, there are a lot of retro games and Japanese games i had never seen. The wall art is on another level, highly recommend. It can get a little hot in there though

We went on Memorial Day weekend and it was very crowded, but we were still able to play some games. Overall pretty loud. I think they had AC, but it got really warm in some of the tucked away rooms. The art is amazing. Disappointed that one of the Area 51 guns was busted. Friendly staff.

We went to Arcade Monsters last night and had a lovely time. There was about a 15 minute wait to get in but once we were in everything was fine. There were so many games I've never seen before like a Jojo Bizarres Adventure machine, Sailor Moon, D&D, and so many more. There were a handful of broken games, the downstairs restroom was OOO, and a lot of games had Japanese instructions instead of English (you could still muddle your way through to play.) It was a little crowded for my taste and I don't know i

I really had a amazing time on Valentine?s Day with my son and it was our third time going here and we really enjoyed it so much that seeing my son happy and enjoying himself playing awesome video games. All the employees there are wonderful and very welcoming to me and my son. We will return back there again and I thank you for a wonderful experience and we will get the 35 dollar per person deal again. ??????

This place is THE place of an Barcade! Just pay an entry fee and play unlimited games! Awesome selections and atmosphere! Trippy artwork too!

awesome! one-time payment for going in and unlimited play time. amazing quality.

Had a lot of fun! Great experience, they serve alcoholic drinks for adults and have non alcoholic drinks too, awesome food, a lot of games to play. Mia the bartender was amazing, professional and very helpful in recommending drinks, and guided to the best games. 10/10 experience, will absolutely be back

Had fun here for my son's 13th birthday. This place is awesome. Friendly staff. Good food and drinks. Great games. Great environment. Will be coming back for sure. Maybe have my birthday party here in January.

Best selection of arcade games I've ever seen! Amazing vibes and colors and art. Expensive drinks. No re-entry with $20 wristband.

We had my Teens Birthday Party here and let me tell you.. Liz Is our girl..she handled the party wonderfully and showed my kids around so they were comfortable..she got our food quickly and made sure everything was ok...by far an amazing hostess id recommend her for your party every time... a few others really stuck out and I forgot names but the 2 pm team on saturday the 24th was a good team they work well together.. and the mgr. Lauren for solving an issue and deescalating it with another rude asst. man

It's much cleaner inside than I initially thought from photos. They also have a good variety of drinks, including canned beers. Sky checked us in and had a really fun outfit that went with the vibes.

Parking was a little difficult to find but the staff was so friendly, Every wall had artwork painted on it. They also serve food like hot dogs chicken tenders and pizza cupcakes at a reasonable price. Two floors of arcade games pinball machines air hockey. We spent hours here.

$25 for all you can play is definitely something! Mia, the bartender was cool and had great spirit. The front desk at the door was great too!

Absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Please don't change the format!! Free play after entry let's us try so many games would have otherwise passed on. And the variety of rhythm games are so fun! This place is perfect as is, but gets busy Fri/Sat - fun drinks too!

Overall a pretty cool place to hang out and play games. Theyre are a lot of games that are in different languages with no option for english, but they do generally have a link for directions posted on the machine to look up. Some games were broken with no signs. Entry fee is 25$ and gets you access to all the games. Drinks and food are priced very high for what they are. There is alcoholic beverage options as well.

This is real cute ! Nice little date night spot or if you want to be big a group of competitive friends. Drinks are reasonable. You can tell they want you to drink and have a good time. Zoe was great !

Our first time here. Place is HUGE! Here on a Sunday with a group of 9 (7kids). They're having a blast. Elizabeth at the front is amazingly helpful and very friendly. Will be back for sure.

First time coming was very fun. Great date spot for if you're tryna chill or just have fun. Only $25 for unlimited games!! Sky was an amazing employee from the moment we walked in.

This was a fun find!! 25$ bucks for unlimited play!! They had a great selection of games from pinball to an actual tv with an old school Nintendo in a TV stand. They have non-aholic drinks and alcohol. No cash allowed but that wasn't a negative. It does get warm in some of the smaller rooms, just a heads up.

the people here are very polite the games here are so fun not expensive

This place was really fun. The classic game selection was on point. I didn't experience any issues with games malfunctioning. I had a fantastic time. Now that being said, not being able to open a tap at the bar was somewhat inconvenient. Also, the Silver Strike Bowling game needs to be relocated for easier play.

Crazy cool place. They got Marios versus Sonic at the Olympics. Mario. Versus. Sonic. Ain't no way Sonic jumps higher than the plumber. Mario can't outrun the hedgehog. Not much of any Olympics is it now?

All my favorite retro games and more! Real nostalgia feel when you walk in, except now I can order a beer while I play my favorite childhood games. 25 bucks for all you can play was nice, not to packed during the day but after 7pm it fills up quick.

This is one of the coolest places ever. We took 9 kids on a Saturday it was wild and packed just like an 80s arcade I was used to as a kid. It's cool to have my kids experience the same vibes.

I love the old-school Nintendo and the marvel versus Capcom series it's on it's my favorite I love this place. It gives nostalgic lives. The people here are nice.

Great variety of games, truly awesome aesthetics, drinks, and it's even 2 stories. Definitely coming back!

Great arcade. I like that you pay one price and can play unlimited. The decor and staff are also awesome. They have a great selection of games. Even old school and Japanese games. My only complaint is that it gets a little hot on the second floor.

This is a lovely place, Kennedy was super helpful and friendly. Had so much fun and nostalgia, can't wait to come back!

This place is so great! $20 for unlimited arcade game play. No tickets, no games that are off limits, all of them worked. 2 stories with beer and some food options as well. So many games from frogger to just dance, pop shot, air hockey, tons of anime, etc. Went with my twin teenage sons and husband and ended up staying for 3 hours! Highly recommend!

Great place and amazing value. Lots of games from retro to modern. Love the group racing games. Clean, well managed and the machines were in great shape. For $20 unlimited play you can't go wrong.

This place is so much fun! I highly recommend you come check it out if you're in the downtown area! Katana was an excellent bartender as well! Ask for her when you come!!!

Hannah was a great help with the different options on the menu. The Ube smoothie was a fantastic recommendation!

Sky was a great server, super kind and attentive. This place is awesome. My kid had so much fun. Spent several hours here and couldn't leave!

This place is absolutely insane! Soooo many fun games to play, family friendly, the art alone is a fun thing to look at and admire. Def coming back!

Wow, this is one of the highlights of my most recent trip to San Diego, the location is nothing short of iconic. Not an 80s arcade, it is an 80s arcade reimagined. The staff are nothing short of awesome, price is more than reasonable, with the iconic setting of San Diego. If you have the time, they have the games!

I came here on wedding night and brought all my friends, the atmosphere was so fun! The price to play unlimited games is worth, TWO stories full of games. The drinks were so reasonably priced. Sky was the host to check us in, she was so helpful and kind. She made some really strong drinks, I can't wait to come back again. Thanks for having us!

Great arcade, a bit loud in some areas which makes some games hard play/ listen too. A note about admission fees: Adults $25 - that would be great to know about before you get there.

Amazing place! Best pinball machines, air hockey and all the rest! Fantastic deal ?

Mia was awesome!! Super sweet and amazing ?? made me feel welcome. Will definitely come back.

I had so much fun they had games for everyone old and new

Went this past weekend and had a blast! Loved the games! Especially the staff scarlett always kind and gives off GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!?????? Definitely coming back!

Hailey was awesome! Since we arrived she was super attentive and sweet. Great service!

Absolutely 10/10 place to be at! And also shoutout to Mia who's so sweet and helpful! Great staff and will be returning!

Arcade Monsters is a trip! Taylor provided lay of the land then off i went. Second floor is my fave!

YASSSSSS!!!!!!!! THIS PLACE IS IT ! If you ever just need time to spend away f on everybody , you can easily just play way we got here at 11:30 and just like that it's 1 am. HAILEY IS AN AMAZING PERSON ! SHE WAS VERY PLEASANT TO TALK TOO ! AND MADE EVERYTHING EASY . THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR ANNIVERSARY THE BEST IN YEARS

Arcade Monsters is a great place for playing games all day and being a kid ! Mia was really helpful at the counter assisting my nephew for his birthday. Great customer service and atmosphere.

By far the WORST business I ever visited in my life. This place needs to shut down and go out of business, doesn't fit with the rest of great establishments here in San Diago. The place in itself is okay, good variety of games and that's where the good ends. The food is absolutely disgusting ?? . Please anyone who visits this place PLEASE !!! do not eat there, YOU WILL GET SICK !!! . I ordered a simple wings and nacho fries. The fries where very undercooked, the wings where very undercooked I can see the ch

If you're on the fence, just go. I really can't recommend this place enough. I hesitated at the door, but the unlimited play is 100% worthy the cost of entry. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm out here visiting family. Great mix of new and old games. I even got to try some games I didn't have a chance to play on my last trip to Japan.

Such a fun place to go with old school games and new ones! 10/10 recommend if you're visiting Daygo!

A good balance of western games like guitar hero or pool and Japanese rhythm games. Knowing some anime will help you expand your range, but sometimes the music can be drowned out by other nearby games

Best company outing I've ever been too this place is my childhood and future child hoods dream. Katana was super stylish and helpful I highly recommend to every one!

I went there with my sister, and it was very interesting with all the nice glowing colors and I like the games. The only thing I didn't like that a lot of them were not in English so it was hard to understand what you were supposed to do.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge.
